Dear Team Black stans who meme about and are excited to see Blood and Cheese,
If you are a TB member who does not find joy in Blood and Cheese, keep scrolling. This isn’t about at you.
Disclaimer! By clicking read more you have acknowledged you have read the above text. This means you can not claim, “I don’t do this” or “these are other people who aren’t part of my group” or “these are the extreme! No one truly thinks this” or “it’s all a joke!” if you disagree with the disclaimer click away!
Why is Blood and Cheese something you so vehemently fight to make fun of? Why is the murder of an unknown maid, the mental torture of Alicent, Helaena, Jaehaerys, Jaehaera, and Maelor, the threatened SA of Jaehaera, and the murder of Jaehaerys so funny to you?
Why is this the hill you want to die on? You can meme about ANYTHING so why do you so desperately want to make fun of a child’s death? A family’s mental torture? And a woman’s death? None of the 6 people hurt in this act had anything to do with Luke’s death. Why do you so fervently need to make 2 murders and 4 mentally scared people’s trauma a joke and ‘justifiable’ for Luke’s death? A death that is in no way the responsibility of any of the 6 people tortured? A death that can only happen in a fantasy world while the acts committed against these 6 innocent people is very real and happens in our world?
Do you find murder of a toddler funny? Or is it the mental torture of a mother? The grandmother’s mental torture? The mental torture and threatened assault of a toddler? The mental torture an even younger child funny?
This act is not justice, it’s revenge against innocent people, it’s not funny, it’s deeply depressing, it’s an act of cruelty from Daemon.

Sorry to butt in, but as a historian, that point about emotional incest between family members because the child has to assume a parental role vacated by the dead spouse, is absolutely insane and nonsensical.
Feudal times and onwards, the eldest child, whether son or daughter would be expected to take over the diseased parent's role. It could be a daughter running the father's household and raising her siblings or a son assuming financial responsibility for his mother and siblings or taking over the family business. These are just general points, not mutually exclusive to gender. If both parents died, then the eldest child was expected to take over regardless of gender, even though families became split up. Robb Stark is a good example of this in the books and how he has to be responsible for his siblings and also the North whilst his mother goes through a breakdown etc. He has to assume his father's mantle while Catelyn has to unsee him as her baby son and instead see him as a man and king, albeit her son.
I understand it's fiction but JESUS CHRIST. Also purely from a RL POV, I am the eldest of four children, we are all adults barring one. When my mother passed away, my father was wrecked. I had to take over everything and I felt the onus was on me as the eldest to do so. If somebody implied my father was emotionally incestous with me because he relied on me and needed my care and help, I would politely throw them out the room.
Ok as someone who simply reblogged a post which you could have ignored , i think you might want to idk ignore it, or unfollow/block me if what i said in the tags and in response to the previous anon seems to have been over the line with you.
Like i get it that it bothers you that i view alicent and Otto’s relationship as emotionally incestual by the way he treats her and how she is with him (and in extension her relationship with her sons) because she has never relized that is not normal and her abuser will never let her know he is an abuser(especially when its clear he only views her as something he could use to gain power)
But as you said this is fiction and we all interept things differently.
Cat and Hoster's relationship is in no way comaprable to Alicent and Otto’s and in no way comparable to yours and your parents.
We interpert things differently anon, and lets leave it at that.

the part of the last episode that some people seem to miss is that alicent’s children are the physical manifestation of what she suffered and like they were conceived solely out of duty (marital r4pe!!) so aegon, helaena and aemond are all she has to show for what she’s been through so when she sees rhaenyra literally shirk her duty by having bastards out of love/lust and trying to pass them off as trueborn, alicent really can’t stand for it and rightfully so because rhaenyra is the only noblewoman in westeros who can get away with that bc her father is the king

Can we talk about how embarrassingly pathetic the scene of Daemon killing Veamond was? He literally stabbed an unarmed man seeking justice in the back… during a court proceeding. There was nothing noble or admirable about it, it’s just plain cowardice. He could have challenged him for a duel right then and there but no ( and to be clear, he wasn’t acting like Viserys’ executioner in that scene because Veamond had not been sentenced to death ). I mean… this is a front row preview of what Rhaenyra and Daemon’s rule would look like? If they care this little about the lives and rights of nobles (not to mention relatives of Daemon’s daughters) the common folk must be worth as much as a bunch of flies to them. This is tyranny in its purest form. This scene is so in your face with showing these two as tyrants but for some reason some people just …don’t get it and see it as proof that he would be a good ruler. Like fr, who needs boring court proceedings and laws when you can just rule with fire and blood? Remind you of anyone???
What I am trying to say if that it’s alright to favor one team or the other because you sympathize more with the characters but trying to argue that you have ANY kind of moral high ground siding with team black doesn’t make anyone look smart for a number of reasons, this only being one of them.

Daily reminder that the Greens not only committed High Treason and stole the throne of the rightful heir, but they also robbed Rhaenyra of her greatest desire: a daughter of her own.
So forgive me for not giving a damn about any of the green children, when Princess Visenya Targaryen was not given a chance at life all because of the Greens’ greed.
Daemon only called for a ‘a son for a son’.
I would have called for ‘a daughter for a daughter’ as well.

Rhaenyra calling Alicent a whore, then spending the next 3 years shunning and being openly hostile towards Alicent= perfectly okay and justified.
Alicent giving Rhaenyra the same treatment (minus calling her a whore). Alicent acknowledging Rhaenyra’s bastards are in fact bastards while in the privacy of her and King’s private apartments and NOT publicly. Alicent not interacting with the Strong boys at all (until Driftmark) thus not treating them harshly. Alicent not thinking Rhaenyra shits rainbows= Abuse
Nevermind that even during and after the time jump it was a mutual dislike. It’s not like Rhaenyra was weeping at Alicent’s feet for forgiveness and favor the past 10 years. Both didn’t like and talked shit about each other. Both didn’t give a fuck about the other’s children nor wanted a relationship with them- Rhaenyra as a sister, Alicent as a (step)Grandmother. Both had a Knight (Criston and Harwin) willing to do unethical shit for them out of love/adoration.
BUT Criston calls Rhaenyra a cunt, Alicent reprimands.
Daemon calls Alicent whores and cunts, silence on the part of Rhaenyra.
I need people to stop acting like Rhaenyra was some kicked dog and Alicent was the literal wicked stepmother in every Disney movie.
THIS!!
Tumblr media
saying that alicent abused rhaenyra is sooo ridicules. because on one hand, TB stans love to talk about how powerless and pathetic and unimportant alicent is, but on the other hand she's also powerful enough to abuse the heir to the throne, and poor rhaenyra is so powerless and weak against her evil stepmama. make it make sense.
alicent and rhaenyra are enemies. in ep 7 rhaenyra literally tries to get alicent accused of high treason & killed by making aemond admit that it was her that told him that the strongs are bastards (but he was too smart to take the bait ;) ) right after luke CUT HER SON'S EYE OUT! at this point the level of hypocrisy and double standards is hilarious.
daemon is allowed to call alicent a c*nt, but when criston does the same and apologizes right after? he hates women!!!!! (and the so called feminist queen didn't seem to care about her husband murdering his first wife ! surely that doesn't sit very well with the feminist agenda!)

Don't think there was incest between Otto and Alicent she was just a piece of his chessboard. I also think no incest between Alicent and aemond I think these takes are weird just because she has a good relationship with her son doesn't mean they want to bang each other 🧐 like Viserys obviously loves Rhaenyra but it's as his daughter whilst Daemon is complete opposite coveting his niece. Like Alicent is close to criston but I'd say it's platonic but he seems to have another element to his devotion which she subtly warns him, saying she is the queen. 'as his queen'. If Alicent wanted anyone it was Rhaenyra and that's that. I'm not even a rhaenicent shipper. I know incest is a huge thing in this fandom within context of the asoiaf universe and its present right. But to attribute a positive relationship between Alicent and aemond as incestually sexual is just so random and I don't even know where the Otto/Alicent thing even came from either
Emotional incest doesn't mean they have that sort of attraction to each other, it means they had this codependency and relationship that goes over the typical bond a parent would have to the one a romantic partner would have.
Like Alicent has been the lady of the house since her mom died so her dad has depended on her to fill that role of hostess and companion in his life. He also views her as a pawn he can move whichever way he wants knowing she will never say no as he has groomed her into always being this obedient person who would never question him her entire life.
Aemond seems to fill a similar role unconsciously, she raises her kids into believing rhaenyra and her sons are the enemy as otto had her believe and how she sort of confrims it at Driftmark (which was an accident where none and all are at fault). Aemond is mature for his age, appears to be the one Alicent goes for assurance and eventually to fight for her as one would go to thwir husband in thier society.
None of it is incestual in the sexual/romantic manner, its just what is used to describe a parent/child relationship that goes over the normal boundaries between a typical parent and child...which Alicent doesn't have with Aemond and Aegon(no parent should barge into your room when they know you are naked)
Heres an explanation for it
