Hamza’s brother Zain reached out to me to help share Hamza’s fundraiser. Hamza is a Palestinian nurse urgently raising money to help evacuate he and his family from Rafah. He has only made $2,129 out of his $35,000 goal! Please share and donate, and if you can’t donate, please still share!
Hamza’s Twitter/X account: @almofty_hamza
From Hamza’s GFM:
Hi, my name is Hamza, and I am raising funds to rebuild my family's home and support my loved ones during this war.
As you may already know, more than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. I have lost more than a hundred relatives, many still missing, and my family trapped in Gaza can attest to countless more coworkers, community members, and friends they have seen killed firsthand.
Prior to the war, I was an active member of the community. I have a passion for helping others, and for this reason, I was a nurse practicing in hospitals around Gaza. Outside of nursing, I was also a volleyball player for the Palestinian national team. After the war broke out, I volunteered at hospitals to treat those injured in the airstrikes until I was forced to stop to move with his family.
My brother, Zein El Dein, had taken courses in web development and dreamt of becoming a programmer. His dreams were cut short after the school he went to was destroyed and flipped his entire life around.
My sister, Islam, earned top marks in school that landed her in a program for engineering at her local university. Her studies were paused during the war, and with the bombardment of that university, she is trying to find somewhere outside of Gaza to continue her education and pursuit of that dream.
Omar and Mariam are both children who were still in grade school when the war broke out. Their education was not only put on pause, but were forced to grow up and try to understand why they were being displaced, why they struggled to get food, and why their friends and neighbors were being killed in airstrikes.
My father, Talaat, was pursuing a PHD in nursing at the time the war broke out. The university has been destroyed, and he has been trying to take care of his family since.
We are currently staying in Rafah, and below are pictures of my original home, now destroyed.
Many of the people that used to be around me are either confirmed dead, missing because they are trapped under the rubble, or displaced just like us. These are people who played alongside me on the national team, classmates who were pursuing their passion for nursing just like I was, and people who volunteered at hospitals when the war broke out.
Losing so many of the close friends each of us had to this war has only added to the suffering of the destruction of our home and our displacement to the refugee camps in Rafah.
As you can imagine, I cannot watch my family continue to be in this miserable condition after we lost what was everything. So, I turn to this fundraiser, and to the global community to rebuild what was destroyed and relieve my family of their suffering with financial support.
Please donate generously, share this widely, and pray for their safety and evacuation. Anything helps, and all contributions, no matter the sum, bring us closer to the goal of achieving our dream.
Thank you, salam

i absolutely cannot believe people are trying to start discourse about whether nex benedict was actually nonbinary / whether it was okay for him to describe himself as nonbinary to some people if he didn’t actually identify that way as if he isn’t literally DEAD because he was KILLED. this is a MURDERED CHILD and these monsters are so busy getting mad at the possibility that he might have been a trans boy who described himself as nonbinary to his family because that was easier for them to take that they’re turning a CHILD who was MURDERED into fucking discourse. even when we die at the hands of cis people’s violence, our own community finds a way to make us the villains of the story.
and all of this bullshit on top of the ways that cis people are already trying to say our grief over his death is unjustified. all of this on top of people claiming he wasn’t murdered and speculating on other causes of death (i literally saw someone say he “clearly went home and took the coward’s way out” and i have never been more disgusted) or claiming that he started the fight as if any action on his part could’ve been enough to justify his death. i am haunted by the sound of his father screaming that his child was not filth because that is what people have been saying about this poor kid, that’s how cruelly his memory is being treated, and even the trans community can’t get it’s shit together enough to look past the stupid discourse and see the tragedy in front of us. did you all forget that it was supposed to be up to us to grieve him in the way he deserves when the rest of the world fails to care if people like him live or die? did you all forget that this child was our sibling, the future of our community, a life that we should have had the chance to know and treasure while he was still here but that we now have a responsibility to hold close to our hearts in his absence? nex’s life was precious and it was ended far too soon and if you truly believe that anything is more important than mourning his life and fighting for a world where no more trans people have to meet such an awful fate, you’re a traitor to this community and you do not deserve the place you occupy within it.
i’m so tired. i can’t even imagine how tired his family must be, to see the public treat the child they’re grieving so horribly, to see the world fail their baby again. leave him alone. he was already robbed of peace in life; the least you can do is let him finally have it in death.

Prompt #8
cw referenced drugging & kidnapping??
The villain gave hero a truth serum and asked hero to tell their darkest secret, expecting a some sort of corrupt agency or a crime they did so the villain can use that to blackmail the hero.
Hero instead spilled the most horrifying, gut wrenching, traumatizing backstory known to man that they kept bottled up their whole entire life and villain just thinks. "oh.... you're kind of fucked up actually....you need to Seek Help how did you even get through those what the fuck."

Ford but he gets jealous.
Bill has been back for a while now. Long enough that they know he’s powerless, stuck in a body he’s still getting used to, mostly harmless as long as you aren’t careless. He jokes and rips people off with Stan, explains (rants about) random tidbits to Dipper, does the occasional craft with Mabel and sometimes lets her do makeovers on him (at least after he showed her how to do makeup properly).
But he gives Ford plenty of space and it makes him absolutely burn with envy sometimes. Is he not even worthy of Bill's attention now? If not as a friend or partner, then at least as an enemy? An acquaintance? If that's it, what makes all these other people worth his time?
Meanwhile Bill is trying not to bother Ford, he's avoiding him to be polite because he thinks Ford wouldn't want him anywhere near him. (Because he fears that if he pushes too hard Ford will kill him for real this time.)
Ford is just quietly annoyed for ages, trying not to snap or lash out, but when he does its damn near catastrophic. Everything comes pouring out at once about how he hates how easily Bill moved on and left him behind, how he misses him but he's never been good enough, has he? No, Bill doesn't care about some feeble little human, he just plays with it and tosses it aside when it breaks!
Bill of course had no idea, but he still gets angry about being yelled at. Ford always looks annoyed when he’s around, he’s been giving Ford space and trying not to bother him! He thought Ford wanted to be left alone!
It's their biggest fight since Bill came back. Even early on it wasn’t this bad, with Bill still in a state of mild shock at his new body and Ford too busy trying to figure out how Bill had come back to be truly angry. It’s a solid 10 minutes of screaming at each other about how this is your fault, you're the one who didn't communicate! The only reason they stop is because Stan broke it up when it looked like Ford was gonna take a swing at Bill and he put them both in time out. Bill agreed because he doesn't actually have the energy for a serious fight, and Ford agreed because he will not be seen as the unreasonable one compared to Bill fucking Cipher.
Stan eventually manages to herd them into apologizing to each other once they calm down.
Ford (reluctantly) admits that yes, he was being unreasonable and overreacted, he's been extra stressed because of Bill's return and Bill being around his family (because he still half-expects to find the demon standing over their corpses one day) and he lashed out over something that could have been easily avoided if he just talked to him instead of bottling everything up.
Bill agrees that he was being unreasonable too, he should have told Ford that he was going to give him space until he felt comfortable being around Bill, if he ever felt comfortable being around Bill again, rather than assuming he knew.
---
The next day Bill sits next to him while he works, rambles on about whatever comes to mind, which makes it hard to concentrate and is incredibly annoying-
But he finds he doesn’t mind it too much.

It's always weird and frustrating when people are like "oh, you only hold X opinion because you're from a blue state and don't understand life in rural, conservative areas."
Because it's like:
a) People who go on about this tend to have about as much consideration for the lived experiences of people living in blue states as they assume all the coastal elites etc have for them.
b) In fact, many of us who are queer blue state progressives are very familiar with conservative rural areas even without leaving our own states, because those areas exist here, too! The whole "I went from NYC to a diner in West Virginia to connect with conservatives Real America" thing is stupid as fuck for many reasons, but one of them is because you'll get the same response just by going to a different part of New York State. I spent years living in Trump country less than 30 mi from (sapphire blue) Portland, OR.
Yes, living in a conservative rural area of a blue state is different (esp when the governor is backed by legislative support) from those areas in red states. But they aren't completely different by any means, and a lot of us who have strong preference for places like Portland do so because of our experiences in GOP-dominated regions of our states, sometimes specifically because we are from those areas, not because we don't know anything about living in them.
c) I know it's hard to imagine, but sometimes people who disagree with you are ... not from the USA.

I’m not calling anyone out but I have to say that if you’re posting things like this Right Now you are a genuine piece of shit.
do people and their families who live outside the West—and colonized people everywhere—just not matter to you? is the harm happening to them not as important as the “damage control” you think will magically happen if people just vote? do you sincerely believe people forgot about Trump as if it were ancient history? it’s really nasty to try to lecture people during a genocide being committed right now by Biden’s Democratic administration that “it could be so much worse.”
the material present, which you are saying is better than a hypothetical future Trump administration, still involves a racist, self-proclaimed zionist bypassing Congress to bomb and starve more civilians. 13,000+ dead children is fine because Orange Man Bad. by sharing that post, you are saying that you believe this present reality is one that is acceptable.
but sure, reference your fucking stupid destiel day or whatever, it’s clearly not that serious for you
