Mini Fanfic #1043: Another Lovely Christmas Morning (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)

8:44 a.m. at the Smash Mansion's Dining Hall......

Mario: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise) Dr. Eggman has daughter now!?

Shadow: (Simply Nodded) Her name is Sage. An A.I. he created to hack and gain access to an island located in a cybernetic dimension. The one where Sonic and Co. were taken in last month. I suppose overtime, he started growing attached to her to the point that he's started seeing her as his offspring, which would explain his break in at the Computer Room that night. (Tales a Sip of his Cup of Hot Coco)

Rouge: Is that why you didn't apprehended him and Metal at the him?

Omega: (Glares at the Ultimate Lifeform at the Pther Side of the Table) And why you LIED and kept this information from me!?

Rouge: Us, dear.

Omega: US! From mother and I!?

Shadow: (Takes a Deep Breath Before Speaking) Yes. It's.....the truth.

Mario: (Starts Frowning Worryingly at Shadow) Son.....

Shadow: ('Sighs While Placing the Side of his Head on his Hand) I know.....It was reckless and irresponsible of me to lie and not doing anything to him at that moment. It just.......(Looks Down on his Cup) When he looked at me in the eyes and told me how much he cares for his own daughter and how he wants to make things right with her, it seemed.....so real and genuine coming from him of all people. And given my history of gaining and losing the people I've considered a family, I guess you can say I didn't had the heart to decline his request and take him into custody. Pathetic of me, I know.....

Rouge: (Gives Shadow a Soft Glare) Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. You did the right thing by letting him get by.

Shadow: (Looks Up at Rouge Woth a Genuine Look on his Face) You....think so?

Rouge: Yeah. I mean, sure, letting him roam free in the highly classified area was a reckless move on your part, but at least you had a good reason to do it.

Mario: (Place his Hand onto Shadow's Shoulder Woth a Soft, Reassuring Smile on his Face) Rouge is right, Shadow. You've helped that man reunite with his lost daughter, despite everything he put you, your team, and especially Sonic through. You should be proud of yourself for that.

Omega: (Has his Head Turned Away and Arms Crossed) I am still upset at you for your dishonesty. (Lets his Arms Go From One Another and Lowers his Head Down a Little) However.....If you truly believe what you did that night was the right choice.....(Turns Back to Shadow Woth a Simple Nod) Then I will standby your decision and respect it as such as your teammate and friend.

Shadow: Omega.......

Omega: (Angrily Points at Shadow) But do NOT expect me to be nicer to Eggman now that is taking his responsibility as a father! He is and will forever be the bane of my existence!!!

Shadow: (Chuckles Lightly at his Robotic Companion) Right. Here you loud and clear, Omega. Thank you. (Turns Back to Rouge and Mario) That goes for you two as well.

Rouge: (Happily Shoo the Thanks Off) Oh please, you don't have to thank us for that. You know we'll always be by your side no matter what decisions you make.

Mario: And we'll always be here help and support you in anyway possible. (Eyes Suddenly Begins to Widened at a Realization) But...wait. If Eggman is the father of Sage and the grandson of Professor Gerald, which in turn, makes you and Maria his cousins, does this makes mother and I Sage's aunt and uncle?

Shadow: .......I mean....I never really thought about it like that until now. But if you two want to be play the position of one, then....(Shrugs) that's fine by me I suppose.

Mario: (Smiles Brightly) Fantastico! Your mother would be so excited when I tell her-

Peach: (In the Other Room) DAISYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Mario: O-On second thought. I'll just....wait until she's calmed down. Hopefully.

Meanwhile at the Living Room................

Daisy: (Hugging onto Luigi to Dear Life in Fear of her Cousin in Front of the Two of Them) C-C-Come on, cuz! I-It don't look that bad.

Peach: Doesn't look bad!? (Angrily Points at her Now Green Dyed Hair) LOOK AT ME!! My beautiful, blonde hair looks like a BUSHY CHRISTMAS TREE!!!

Daisy: A very.....(Smiles Nervously) Pretty bushy Christmas Tree....(Chuckles Awkwardly)

Peach: (Starts Making Angry Princess Noise With her Mouth Closed as She's Steaming With More Anger Inside Her)

Luigi: ('Sigh') Daisy, why did you have to prank her like that? You know how sensitive she is about her hair.

Daisy: It's Christmas morning, Weeg! I couldn't miss an opportunity to mess with her on the holiday season. (Starts Twiddling her Fingers Together) Besides, she's always been an easy for most of my pranks.....

Peach: (Eyes Widened in Even More Fury Within Her) EASY TARGET!? (Angrily Makes Her Way Closer to Daisy) I'll show who's an easy target you no good, troublemaking, PIECE OF SHIT!! AND....(Continues Rambling On)

Daisy: ('Sigh') Looks like I severely pissed her off this time around. (Turns to her Boyfriend) Save my lap spot for me, 'kay sweetie?

Luigi: Well do, dear.

The couple gives each other a quick kiss on the lips before Daisy hops off from Luigi's lap and starts running for her life.

Daisy: BRBBBBBBB!!!~

Peach: (Frantically Chases After Daisy) Don't you dare runaway from me when I'm talking to you, Daisy Mayflower! HEY!!

Tifa: (Sits Down on the Sofa Next to Luigi on One Side) Daisy pranked Peach again this year?

Cloud: (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion as He Takes a Seat Bext to Luigi on the Other Side) And her last name is "Mayflower"?

Luigi: Yep-yep. She said she never liked her last name to be called out too often so she never tells anyone else about it other than me.

Cloud: Uh....huh.

Tifa: Anyways....(Happily Gives Luigi his Present) Merry Christmas, Weegie!~ We hope you like it.

As Luogi opens up the gift given, a smile begins to form on his face once he saw what was inside.

Luigi: You guys~ (Pulls Out and Examines Well Made Green Sweater that Reads "Luigi's #1 on the Front From Out the Box) You got me a Christmas sweater?

Tifa: (Smiles Proudly) Better. I knitted it for you the other day. I made extra sure it looks it's very best and comfortable.

Luigi: (Puts on the Sweater Himself) I didn't know you could knit.

Tifa: Yeah, I learned how to do it back when Cloud and I used to run an orphanage back in Edge. (Starts Giggling Softly at a Memory) I knitted so many stuffed that the kids used to called me the Knit Master.

Luigi: (Chuckles Lightly) I can see why. This sweater looks and feels amazing.

Cloud: Don't forget the present I got for you from that box you opened.

Luigi: (Eyes Widened a Bit at the Realization) Oh yeah. (Looks Back at the Box he Opened) I didn't even noticed I got another gift in- ('Gasps') Cloud....(Picks Up Another Gift From Out his Box) You got me a Chocobo hat?

Cloud: Yep. I....couldn't really think of anything else to get you this year. So I figured I'd get you that from that hat store across from here. Hope you like it.

Luigi: Like it? (Smiles Brightly at the Ex Soldier) Cloud, I love it already! I've always wanted to see a real Chocobo in action someday. They're so majestic and cute!~

Cloud: (Eyes Widened a Little) Oh really? Well, if that's the case, there's a Chocobo farm in my world I can take you guys to visit one of these days if you like.

Luigi: (Happily Puts the Chocobo Hat On his Head) It's a date! (Pulls Tifa and Cliud into a Group Hug) Thank you so much, you guys.

Tifa: (Happily Hugs Luigi Back) You're welcome, sweetheart.

Cloud: (Pats the Top of Luigi's Hat With a Small Smile on his Face) Merry Christmas, bud.

Luigi: (Gets Up From his Seat) Daisy, look! Tifa and Cloud got me a sweater and a Chocobo Hat!

Tifa: (Gets Up From her Seat as Well) We'll bring your gift out once Peach stops chasing you!

Cloud: If she ever going to stop....

Daisy: (Still Running Away in the Distance) THAT'S GREAT, SWEETIE!~ AND THANKS, YOU GUYS!!

Peach: STOP. RUNNING!!!!

Meanwhile Outside of the Mansion......

The kids of the Smash Family play and casually talks to one another about the new toys and presents they've received this year on Christmas Day. It was a normal morning for them for the most part, that is until.....

??????: HOOOOO HO HO HO HOOO!

All of the kids present, turn their head and attention towards big round, penguin man in a red suit, Christmas hat, and a white beard hopping out of his red, non flying sleigh along with trusty slug like elf, who in turn, accidently slip and fell on his face.

??????: Guess who returned to visit y'all for Christmas?

Kids: Good Morning, Uncle Dedede!

Roy: 'Sup, Unc.

Kids return their attention back to previous activities, leaving the fat ex king in red dumbfounded as Escargoon makes his way over to him brushing the snow off his costume.

Dedede: .....Y'all mean "Good Morning, Santa.", Right?

Ness: (Looks Back Up to the Uncle Figure) No, I'm pretty sure we said your name, Uncle Dedede.

Bowser Jr: (Still Playing his Video Games) We know you're not the real Santa Claus.

Toon Link: (Have his Arms Behind his Back Casually) For a while now actually.

Dedede: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock) For a while!? (Turns to Lucas and Ashley Qith a Glare on his Face) Y'all two told 'em about me, didn't you?

Lucas: (Immediately Gets Startled) I-I swear, we didn't!

Ashley: (Holds Lucas' Hand to Help Calm him Down While Staring at the Duo With a Deadpinned Look) Everyone started to recognize it was by your appearance alone. (Rolls her Eyes) Which is really not hard to tell by the way.

Kids: Yep./Uh-huh./You ain't fooling us that easy, Unc.

Escargoon: (Turns to Dedede) I told you they would catch on eventually.

Dedede: (Glarss at Escargoon) Man, how was I supposed to know that? They're kids!

Escargoon: Kids can be just as smart as adults are, De. Hell, two of them are literal psychic users!

Ness: (Raises his Hand Up) PSI users actually. And yeah, Lucas and I can be crazy smart if we really want to be.

Dedede: (Glares at Ness) Boy, what do you want, a gingerbread cookie!?

Ness: (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) Yeah, a gingerbread cookie would be nice to snack on right about now......

Toon Link: (Smiles Brightly) I can ask Momma Peach if she can make some for the rest of us here. (Opens the Door to Look Inside For a Few Seconds Before Quickly Closing it Back and Turning Back to the Gang With a Terrified Look on his Face) On second thought, maybe we should wait out here for a few more minutes.....Or an hour.....

Bowser Jr.: Why? What's going on in there?

Toon Link: Momma Peach is beating the snot of out Momma Daisy right now as we speak.

Kids: ('Gasps')

Dedede: (Eyes Widened Again Along with Escargoon) She's what!?

Escargoon: I beg your pardon!?

Dedede Lemme see!

The gang rushes over to one of the three porch windows and watches in surprise as they see Peach angrily pulling Daisy's leg from the back.

Popo: Oh wow.....

Nana: She really is beating the snot out of her....

Lucas: She looks so mad too....

Hat Kid: (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion) Why's mommy hair is green?

Ness: (Places his Finger on his While Using his PSI Powers to Try Reading Both of the Princess' Minds Through the Window) Well, according to their thinking process, Momma Peach is furious at Momma Daisy for purposly mixing her shampoo bottle with Momma Palutena's

Roy: So she basically pranked her.

Ness: Yeeeeup. (Starts Raising an Eyebrow) And apparently Momma Daisy's last name is Mayflower.

Everyone: Mayflower!?

Ness: Yeah. In fact, her full name is, and....get this, Daisy Sunshine Dafidale Mayflower II. It also reads that never told anyone about this except for Luigi and Psach.

Roy: (Scoffs While Crossing his Arms) I can see why. That has to be one of the worst full names I've ever heard in my life.

Dedede: (Starts Makong a Wode Evil Grin on his Face While Rubbing his Hands Together) And a PERFECT tool for blackmail! (Quickly Wiggles his Finger at the Kids) Which is something you should never do, kids.

Escargoon: (Raises an Eyebrow at his Longtime Friend) Are you really gonna try and blackmail Daisy of all people?

Toon Link: (Turns to Dedede) Yeah, she's a tough one. Not on the level as Momma Tifa and Samus, but pretty close.

Dedede: ('Scoffs') Boy, please. If your mother Peach can take her on right now at ease, I sure as hell can.

Kids: Ehhhhhhh.......

Hat Kid: That's debatable really.

Roy: (Smirks Slyly) Debatable if you'll be on the ground quicker or not.

Ness: Or if you'll be sent to the moon further than Bowser.

Ashley: Or if she could do both.

Dedede: ('Clicks his Teeth') Man, forget each and everyone of y'all!! (Walks Away Irritated) And here I thought I would give all you nice little boys and girls a ride on my sleigh....

Lucas: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise Along with the Rest of the Childern) You were about to give a ride on your sleigh!?

Kids: Really?/ I'd that true, Uncle Dedede?/ I wanna ride on the big red sleigh!!

Dedede: Yeah, I was going to at first. (Starts Shrugging) But since y'all wanna be smart alecks and doubt your poor old Dedede's strength and abilities, I'm afraid I have no choice but to drive all the way to the storage place to-

Kids: Waitwaitwait!/ Don't go!/ Please! (Quickly Rushes Over Their Uncle and Circle Around Him)

Popo: We didn't mean what we said!

Nana: (Quickly Nodded her Head) Yeah. Y-You could definitely beat Momma Daisy in a one-on-one fight!

Hat Kid: One stock, no items!

Bowser Jr. : Y-You can even beat her with your Masked Dedede persona no problem!

Roy: Doubt it. (Wince a Bit in Pain the He Immediately Felt Junior's Shoulder Hitting the Side of his Stomach) I mean, yeah, you could definitely beat her with your mask form or whatever......

Dedede: Hmmmmmm. So is that....(Raises an Eyebrow at the Kids) Realllllly what y'all kids are thinking?

Kids: (Nodding Their Heads) Uh-huh. Uh-Huh.

Dedede: And you meant every word of it?

Kids: Uh-huh. Uh-huh.

Dedede: 100%?

Kids: Uh-huh.

Dedede 1000%?

Kids: Uh-huh!

Dedede: How about a whopping-

Escargoon: DE!

Dedede: ('Sighs in Defeat') Alright, alright, fine! Y'all can come ride in our sleigh.

Kids: YAAYYY!~/ WOOHOO!~ (Happily Cheers in Rejoice as They Rush Over to Get on the Red Sleigh)

Lucas: (Happily Running Next to Ashley While Holding her Hand) Christmas miracles do come true!~

Ashley: (Giggles Softly at How Cute her Boyfriend is) Indeed it is, my dear~

Roy: (Following Behind the Gang While Walking) Glad we're on the same page, Santa.

Dedede: Now that's more like it!

Escargoon: ('Sigh') Did you really have to make the kids believe that you have an actual shot beating the princess, just for one sleigh ride?

Dedede: Damn right. And I don't have any form of regret whatsoever. (Makes his Way to the Sleigh with Escargoon Following Behind Him)

Escargoon: Just be lucky Daisy didn't hear all of that from outside. And godsake, PLEASE don't let her full name escape from that big mouth of yours.

Dedede: (Glares at Escargoon) 'Ey my mouth ain't that big. And would you relax? I ain't gonna say it out loud. Not yet anyways.

Escargoon: ('Sigh') I'll see it when I believe it, De....

After two or three fun, cheerful Christmas sleigh rides across the town later, the gang returns back to the mansion for a Christmas Breakfast fest. At one point, Dedede laughs and jokingly mentions and makes fun of Daisy's full name for everyone present in the dining room to hear.

He was beaten to a pulp by that said princess five seconds later.

Heh, as funny as Super Tails is broken; I find it much more interesting that, in a similar vein to Eggman, he finds a way to go toe-to-toe with super forms using his own skillset. (I'd take that as "in the future" concept than him being some secret magical kitsune. Harmless exploration by itself; but it flies back to just being another super form. That I have no doubt that if ever came to game-canon, we can kiss Tails' tech skills goodbye since the fandom will deem them boring and useless.)

Ironically, I'm fine with Super Tails' existence. While he may "just" be a kid compared to Sonic being Sonic, Knuckles being the guardian of the Master Emerald, Shadow being the Ultimate Lifeform, and Blaze essentially being the Sonic of her dimension, I can still accept it for Tails because as the Luigi of the franchise, he's earned it about as much as Knuckles has.

That said, I'm not saying that the only way for Tails to become important again is by turning into a Titan Tails abomination and bench-pressing all opponents without a sweat. I value the unique skills that he brings to the table. I just think the franchise itself is in need of valuing them more too, along with that of other characters. Because saying I'm Wildly Inconsistent and being IDW Sonic's scapegoat victim ain't cutting it.

(Also, note that I meant the actual Super Tails, and not the kitsune fanon that people like to throw on him, since there's nothing to suggest that he'd become a kitsune when he grows up.)

Samus: Ok. So this might be the dumbest question I'm gonna ask....But does anyone else feel like crying again after that wholesome party our kids thrown for us?

Peach: OMG YES!!! I've never cried so hard with that much JOY before!!

Daisy: Me neither, cuz. The way Pitty went up on the stage and told us how much he and the other kids here love and appreciate us, without even having a written speech LITERALLY got me in full force! Like.......HOT DAMN that was a good cry!! :'D
