Is there a space mailman? Is there a whole organization organized around space mail delivering? Or do they just get teleported to her mail room? Or maybe that organization is designed around teleporting mail to people. I came to visit the school I’m currently attending, and they already knew my Dad before I started talking about him. He got a reputation amongst the students working as assistants at the admissions office because of the long, multi-paragraphed, ten questions (with subsection) emails he’d send to them. And it was funny!

Fast forward to move in day, I go to the mail room to pick up my stuff. I’ve been sending a few packages over the summer and ordered some stuff, just like six packages. A lot, but not too ridiculous.

Well I went to the desk and asked for the packages, gave the student employee my name, and she just stopped.

“Wait, you’re (my name)!?”

Thanks to family also sending me various care packages, they had a grand total of eleven packages waiting for me.

ELEVEN. PACKAGES.

So... now I’ve got a reputation in the mail room.

I’m thinking of when I worked in a mailroom. The machine that put letters into envelopes didn’t work. A third of the letters would get crumbled and wouldn’t be put into the envelopes. I’d have to reprint those and run them again. And then a third of those until I finally just hand folded them. And the managers would rage because I wasn’t as fast as I’d have been if the machine worked properly but they wouldn’t fix it.
