The Grimm Variations Trailer

Brother Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm collected fairy tales and wrote them into a book. One day, the brothers where telling a fairy tale to their younger beloved sister Charlotte. With a melancholy looks she asked "Do you suppose they really lived happily ever after?" Charlotte's versions of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Town Musicians of Bremen, and The Pied Piper of Hamelin turn out to be quite different than her brothers'.

The Grimm Variations features a screenplay by Michiko Yokote, animation by WIT Studios, music by Akira Miyagawa, and character concepts by CLAMP.

The Grimm Variations hit Netflix on April 17, 2024.

Good Night World Trailer

The online game "Planet" is home to a powerful team of players going by the name "The Akabane Family," with its members making up a pseudo-family that only exists in-game. Unbeknownst to the players, though, the four are actually all members of a broken, real-life family: a shut-in older brother, a high-achieving younger brother, an un-respected father, and a mother neglecting her household. In the game, The Akabane Family deals with monsters, guild clashes, and the machinations of "Black Bird," the game's final objective. "The tale takes a major turn as it entangles the real world and this real family." (Netflix)

Based on the manga by Uru Okabe, Good Night World is directed by Katsuya Kikuchi from a screenplay by Michiko Yokote. Here's an advertisement for The Grimm Variations, also known as "The Grimm Suite" (グリム組曲) that includes a few statements from its creators.

We are honored to be able to participate in this work as a character designer. We are really looking forward to seeing The Grimm Suite written by Michiko Yokote and illustrated by WIT.

This work is like a sweet and beautiful candy. However, there are some parts that are bitter and astringent. Including poison. Please consume with care.

Taiki Sakurai's concept was both very innovative and orthodox, and we all worked together to create the work while stimulating each other. I never imagined that such careful film scoring could be done...

This was my first time doing character design. It was a character design by CLAMP, and since there are many fans of the character, I was conscious of drawing it while keeping CLAMP's strengths alive. I hope you watch the video and think, ``Wow, this is a CLAMP work.'' There are also characters that don't often appear in CLAMP works, so I hope you enjoy that as well.
