It’s the end of another year where I find I’ve hardly played you. And I ask myself why. Because I love your essence, your sense of fun, your way of making money, your gift of the gab, your look, your heritage, and how much we have in common.
Maybe that’s why?
Maybe we’re so similar it reminds me of being in High School myself. Surrounded by people but having no true friends? Making myself as likeable as I could but no one wanting to permanently attach themselves to me because I wasn’t ‘cool’. Walking to the beat of my own drum until the drum was beaten out of me. Being the black sheep until I had to become part of the flock.
Your time will come, Leonora, when you can be yourself again. Maybe it’ll be this year.
Saff.

With my first look for Pride Month, I wanted to dedicate this look to someone I love more than life itself - my amazing transgender son (RL). Rights aren't something a lot of people think about daily, because most of us have them. Sadly, not all of us do. Or, even if we do have rights, lawfully speaking, there are specific prejudices that are protected by the same lawmakers. For instance, going to the doctor and being referred to by your name. It seems as simple as breathing that someone should use your name and not another, right? Well, not for our transgender population. They are constantly being deadnamed and misgendered, and there are actual laws to allow this to happen. In fact, in some U.S. states, any medical professional has the right to refuse service to someone from the LGBTQIA community based on their own religious beliefs. And if you are thinking this isn't that big of a deal - just imagine for a moment. Sink deep into your mind and picture everyone in your life referring to you by the name of your worst enemy. Because that is what it feels like to be deadnamed. For a better example - let's talk about my son. Honestly, his strength and courage never cease to amaze me. Visualize having the strength to know exactly who you are and to become them - regardless of the world fighting to keep you from being that person. I went from having a daughter who couldn't even look at herself in the mirror, to having a son who loves himself. As a parent that is all I could ever ask for - that my child grew up to love who they are as a person. So, the next time someone uses your name, stop and appreciate the fact that not everyone has that luxury. Or, the next time you go to the doctor for a simple check-up, remember that people are fighting for the right to do the same. Then, find out what you can do to change that! Join the fight! Write emails to lawmakers, donate to the cause if you can, and most importantly respect everyone's pronouns and names.

Hello out there in blog land.
Miss Chelsea is participating in the new round of The Fifty with the Adee dress. I paired it with the Stealthic Softy hair, also at The Fifty. It reminds me heavily of the Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs, and how she used to wear her hair. Not sure if she was the inspiration but its there, lol.

I know! I feel the same….more bodies? Surely not? Isn’t the body market saturated already? What about the poor designers having to rig for these bodies? I have asked myself all of the same questions and thought the same things as nearly everyone else.
And then…I tried on the new Belleza Curvy and my little inner mesh body heart skipped a beat cause I really flippin’ liked it! My body of choice…
