3-0 at the weekly with stickers infect!!!

2-1 vs altar tron. He played a version with wizard's rockets and candy trails. Just went fast enough while leaving protection for my creatures not to die. Folded game 2 to a makeshift munition I didn't see coming and then prepared game 3 with blue blasts which worked well enough, and won on a countered crop rotation.

2-1 kuldotha burn. Lost g1 and then remembered the tip someone gave me on discord : side out all infect creatures, side in blasts, sprites, and fangs. I sided out the Apostle's blessings too to achieve that. Was easy then with a 7/3 lifelink saiba + gates.

2-0 vs elves. I just went fast enough that he didn't kill me first. Sided in some fangs and vendetta g2, and it won me the match, since the 6hp I won back put me just out of his board's reach.

Compared to last time, I cut 2 supernatural stamina and 1 unearth and put 3 spell pierces. Figured I didn't use them a lot and Moar counters do moar work. Well it worked out nicely! My altar tron opponent spent the game playing around them, not knowing I also had dispels in. It cost him the last game eheh. I chose to let 1 unearth in because I didn't know if I wanted a 4 pierce and since stickers stay I the gy... I saw it multiple times but had no use for it since my opponents didn't have enough removal. There's also discussion to remove the vendettas but I don't know with what yet so I let them in.

Had a lot of fun with the deck eheh I love infect!!! It brings me joy to flip out PRIMAL ELDER KITTY.

Magic the gathering at the round table changed my effin life and I’m just not sorry about it. Big upgrade from the floor. (Katya and I as the “cookie guy” from the cart photos also seen.) I worry about being the annoyijg biych who posts about how I smoke weed but it’s like no I’m literally not it’s just funny…that being said I miss acoustic weed like cart is so fucking ratty but it’s all we have in the effin trenches. Brags : I've been going to a weekly and to my LGS lately and I'm on a ROLL!!

Two weeks ago : 3-0 at the weekly with stickers infect

Last week : 3-0 (all matches won 2-0) at the weekly with caw gates

This week : 3-0 at the LGS (more competitive for now) with stickers infect again (2-1 rakdos burn, 2-0 mono red 8reck, 2-0 mono black sacrifice)

This feels very good, especially after losing a lot (at my previous try I was 1-2 with stickers infect, and I lose a lot in commander lol idk I'm just bad at commander). I don't play badly!! I'm an okay player!! I can win best of 3s with my fav keyword (infect)!! I found the perfect control deck for me at last (caw gates)!! Love this game damn it!!!!

Ok imma say my piece here cuz YouTube comments are way more annoying.

For the next un-set, the one thing I’ve seen more people angry about than anything else has been stickers. How dare they make stickers vintage legal? How dare they make me play with un-cards?

They’re keyword counters. Holy crap guys they’re keyword counters you pay for with energy. The stickers alter what a card can do - now it has the keyword of “adds name to card for purposes of cards that care about it” or menace or horsemanship or “has a hat.” Is this deathtouch or lifelink? No. This is “gives a card a quality that isn’t printed on the card.” This is shield counters.

And how is this paid for? A unique kind of counter on a player that is given to you by cards that are also within the specific ecosystem that gives these keyword counters. It’s energy counters with a different name.

NONE OF THIS IS NEW. This is existing mechanics with different names. Your cards will be untouched since you can’t sticker cards you don’t own. All of this is within the existing vibe of MtG. I’m not going to personally buy Warhammer 40K and yet there are people buying those decks railing against stickers. I’m going to have to sit down against Tyranids. And you know what? I’m not going to complain to a player’s face when I do so. Because someone else is having fun with those cards.

"Who asked for this!? Who asked for Stickers!?” ...Me? I love Un Sets, doing wacky stuff like this is what I sign up for. I don't get to opt-out of my opponents sitting down to play with a full suite of fetchlands, 12 tutors and multiple 2-card infinite win conditions, I think they can put up with my putting 'Dark' in the name of my Master of the Feast on turn 5.

"Has anyone in the history of Un-Sets ever requested Silver Border Cards just be Black Border and Legal in constructed formats?" The question is phrased in the wrong direction. It wasn't about money, if it was about money they wouldn't make a change like this when Unstable got REPRINTED 4 times and still sold it's final bout of product well. It wasn't fans of Un-Sets that wanted them to be Black Border, it's the people who Despise Silver Border Cards that forced WotC's hand into making this change. If you're the kind of person who when asked before 'are Silver Border Cards real Magic Cards?' said 'no, they are not.' this change was made in direct response to YOU.

It's easy to take the hyper cynical route and assume this was purely for money, purely for greed, but that's ignoring both players like me and ignoring what Mark Rosewater has told us directly. This decision was made because there are lots of players who looked at a card like Dr. Julius Jumblemorph or The Big Idea and thought "I'd love to play EDH with this as my Commander!" only to find that the vast majority of players will REFUSE to play with them because they aren't using 'real magic cards'.

Commander is supposed to be a Casual format, but being the most popular way to play and outlawing outright Each and Every Silver Border Card means the only way you'd get to play with Silver Border Cards you love would be after managing to get a group of people who won't sneer at you for it.

Funny thing is I really loved the Silver Border and wish they didn't have to do this, but if this is what it takes for me to be able to play cards like Split Screen with new people and not hear a condescending 'that isn't a Real card.' then I gladly accept the price being paid.
