My Advice for France
Tumblr media
If any of the rioters arrested during the protests are in France illegally, they should be immediately deported.
Those individuals can go back and burn and loot their own country.

🇨🇵 Violence Erupts during Protests Against Police Violence in Paris Today
Tumblr media
Thousands of demonstrators marched across France today in protest of Police violence.
Unions told French media outlets some 80'000 people marched across France, with at least 15'000 in Paris alone.
Early in the Paris protest, violence broke out as hundreds of radical protestors broke away from the main march and began smashing business and car windows, ATMs and attacked Police cruisers.
At one point, a Police Officer in a cruiser came under attack from protestors smashing the windshield with a crowbar as the officer tried to escape in his vehicle but the road was blocked. The officer then steps out of the cruiser with his gun drawn.
The French Government denounced what it called "unacceptable violence" during the March. "We see where anti-police hatred leads." Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin wrote on X.
The Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez told reporters three people had been arrested over the incident. Another three were arrested elsewhere in France during similar protest violence.

Today, I made a mistake at work. It had nothing to do WITH work. It had to do with who I work with. I was talking about the riots in France and how out of control the police are over there. Well, as soon as I said it I remembered that I work with the biggest Badge Bunny in the world, so I was just waiting for the spirited defense of the police. I was then shocked when she came out with, "Isn't it disgraceful what those (slur for the French that I didn't think people still used) cops are doing?" She then went on to defend how American cops would never do anything like what they are doing.
Here is where my mistake came. I laughed. Sarcastically.
She asked me what that was supposed to mean. I looked her dead in the eye and said, "Do you not remember the Black Lives Matter protests?"
She had the gall to tell me that was different because the cops were protecting themselves during Black Lives Matter. I am still not sure how I didn't just punch her in her fucking face. I finally found my voice and told her that if she actually believed that then she needed a really check and to spend some time learning reality.
She didn't speak to me the rest of the day, which was lovely.
So, yeah, there is never a reason to shoot people in the balls with rubber bullets or throw tear gas containers (both of which happened in France and America).

Much love to this old lady whose reaction to Macron's Great Saucepan Ban of 2023 was to straight-up smuggle a saucepan in her purse past the police checkpoint to go clang it with a spoon near the president with renewed anger and determination.
Tumblr media
Protesters today greeted the Prime Minister on an official visit by banging their shoes against walls to make noise, so I wonder how long we'll still be allowed to wear shoes.
Tumblr media
(Joking about this is risky because after the saucepan protests on Monday, Le Gorafi (the Onion's French cousin) joked that the government would now take action to seize pans—and it became a reality on Thursday... We can't forget that our satirical news outlets are disproportionately affected by the bullshit inflation.)

"Thousands of demonstrators converged opposite the White House on Saturday to call for an end to Israeli military action in Gaza, while children joined a pro-Palestinian march through central London as part of a global day of action against the longest and deadliest war between Israel and Palestinians in 75 years.
People in the U.S. capital held aloft signs questioning President Joe Biden’s viability as a presidential candidate because of his staunch support for Israel in the nearly 100-day war against Hamas. Some of the signs read: “No votes for Genocide Joe,” “Biden has blood on his hands” and “Let Gaza live.”
Vendors were also selling South African flags as protesters chanted slogans in support of the country whose accusations of genocide against Israel prompted the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Netherlands, to take up the case...
The plight of children in the Gaza Strip was the focus of the latest London march, symbolized by the appearance of Little Amal, a 3.5-meter (11.5-foot) puppet originally meant to highlight the suffering of Syrian refugees.
The puppet had become a human rights emblem during an 8,000-kilometer (4,970-mile) journey from the Turkish-Syrian border to Manchester in July 2001.
Nearly two-thirds of the 23,843 people killed during Israel’s campaign in Gaza have been women and children, according to the Health Ministry in the Hamas-run territory...
“On Saturday Amal walks for those most vulnerable and for their bravery and resilience,“ said Amir Nizar Zuabi, artistic director of The Walk Productions. “Amal is a child and a refugee and today in Gaza childhood is under attack, with an unfathomable number of children killed. Childhood itself is being targeted. That’s why we walk.”
London’s Metropolitan Police force said some 1,700 officers would be on duty for the march, including many from outside the capital...
The London march was one of several others being held in European cities including Paris, Rome, Milan and Dublin, where thousands also marched along the Irish capital’s main thoroughfare to protest Israel’s military operations in the Palestinian enclave.
Protesters waved Palestinian flags, held placards critical of the Irish, U.S. and Israeli governments and chanted, “Free, free Palestine.″
In Rome, hundreds of demonstrators descended on a boulevard near the famous Colosseum, with some carrying signs reading, “Stop Genocide.”
At one point during the protest, amid the din of sound effects mimicking exploding bombs, a number of demonstrators lied down in the street and pulled white sheets over themselves as if they were corpses, while others knelt beside them, their palms daubed in red paint.
Many hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Paris’ Republic square to set off on a march calling for an immediate cease-fire, an end to the war, a lifting of the blockade on Gaza and to impose sanctions on Israel. Marching protesters waved the Palestinian flag and held aloft placards and banners reading, “From Gaza to Paris. Resistance.”"

as you probably know, france is going through a period of violent protests. here is a probably better explained version of why it’s happening than whatever i can come up with.
to make it short, the French government forced a law to make the age of retirement at 64. since 2017, the macron government passed a lot of laws destined to break the social system that we have (even if flawed).
this retirement law is extremely unpopular, and had been forced by the 49.3 article (i think the US equivalent is executive order). this means that the assembly couldn’t vote it. the voting attempt to dissolve the assembly and kill the law in the egg didn’t work out. it missed 9 votes in favor of the dissolution.
people have been protesting outside for weeks. the government doesn’t care, and police brutality is rising exponentially. the prime minister thanked the police yesterday as a lot of protesters are put in custody for nothing. they put in custody innocent people, even tourist kids. people lost limbs too.
what is happening is borderline unconstitutional, and amnesty condemned the French police brutality.
what can we do? as the protesters outside sacrifice their work days to fight against the government, money is getting scarce.
to help the protesters and to help them continue to protest, strike funds have been created.
even a dollar will help them fight the government, so if you can, please donate or share. our lives are on the line.
Caisse de solidarité
this is the link to the strike funds. to donate, click on "faire un don en ligne"
Tumblr media
then you can choose "PayPal" for international folks.

[Description: Video of someone who made an elaborate sign to protest. There’s the pictures of Al Sissi, Netanyahu and Biden. A mechanism makes three shoes move to slap the faces of the three men.]
The protest supporting Palestine in Paris on Saturday…
I wanna say that this man 100% took his child’s pink shoe to do that and I’m here for it.
P.S: I swear to god if any of you praise the French talent in protesting I’m blocking you. This man is 100% North African. He could have been black too but he obviously is not. Throwing shoe at aholes or people who annoy you is a Global South thing not a French thing.

"kill the cop in your head" absolutely applies to fantasy and fiction and i'm sick of antis saying it's appropriation when it's THEM who want to act as judge, jury and executioner over thoughts and pixels. oink oink, piggie.
