And the fact that since she died he never married anyone and there was never a Queen of Wallachia because he only ever loved Lale and no one would replace her and if she couldn’t be Queen nobody would be

We were asked why are we so attached to this show. Well, there are definitely many hidden causes for that.
There is no middle school or high school kid here talking about making ships or trying to write his/her fanfics with the intention to gel with and impress peers behind this ID.
We don't need to mention all the purposes yet. Maybe we will when time comes. 👍
Until then, enjoy your school life, enjoy your homework and avoid peer pressure if it is bothersome. You donot need bothersome friends who force you into doing something even if it's trendy. 💯

To Comma or Not to Comma
THE CORRECT USE OF THE COMMA WHEN JOINING CLAUSES
Tumblr media
Should you use a comma before and? What about before yet, then or if? This is one of the trickiest rules of punctuation to apply correctly: whether to use a comma when joining clauses. But do not fear; I am here to help by providing eight tips on this very subject.
Because this is a complex topic, I’ve created a handy flow chart to assist you. You can download it for free, and I would recommend having it at hand as you read through this post.
Tumblr media
You can also listen to this post on YouTube or read it on the Gentle Sea Editing website.
FIRSTLY, WHAT IS A CLAUSE?
A clause is a group of words that includes a verb and a subject. So, Sarah writes books is a clause because it includes a verb (writes) and a subject (Sarah). Sarah is my favorite author is a clause, but my favorite author, Sarah is a phrase, because it does not contain a verb. In today’s post, we’re focusing on clauses.
1. COMMAS WITH INDEPENDENT CLAUSES: THE GENERAL RULE
The Chicago Manual of Style (CMoS) indicates that “when independent clauses are joined by and, but, or, so, yet, or any other coordinating conjunction, a comma usually precedes the conjunction.”
Now, you might be asking, “What the hell does that mean?” Don’t worry, I had the same reaction the first time I read it.
An independent clause is a clause that makes sense on its own. It is a complete sentence. It does not depend on another clause to give it meaning. In the sentence Damon drinks blood, because he is a vampire, Damon drinks blood is an independent clause. You can remove the rest of the sentence, and it would still make sense.
Coordinating conjunctions join clauses or phrases of equal importance. So, if you want to join two clauses and show that they are on equal footing, you would use a coordinating conjunction. The list of coordinating conjunctions is represented by the mnemonic “fanboys”: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, and so.
So, according to the general rule, if you want to join two independent clauses, like Taylor wrote the impactful lyrics and Jack produced the beautiful song, with a coordinating conjunction, you should add a comma before that conjunction. Here are some examples:
Taylor wrote the impactful lyrics, and Jack produced the beautiful song.
Taylor wrote the impactful lyrics, but Jack produced the beautiful song.
Taylor wrote the impactful lyrics, so Jack produced the beautiful song.
Taylor wrote the impactful lyrics, yet Jack produced the beautiful song.
This general rule also applies to imperative sentences—sentences that give the reader an instruction, make a request, or issue a command—in which the subject (you) is not expressly stated but understood. Here are some examples:
Help Queen Charlotte climb over the wall, or tell King George to spend time with her.
Buy two tickets to Barbie, and wait for me at the corner of Cornelia Street.
It also applies to questions, for example: Do we want to save Wallachia, or are we scared of Dracula?
2. COMMAS WITH INDEPENDENT CLAUSES: THE EXCEPTION
The English language is a wonderful thing; for every rule, there are plenty of exceptions. The general rule above is no exception.
If the independent clauses you are trying to join are very short and closely connected, the comma preceding the conjunction may be omitted, unless the clauses are part of a series. (See, even the exception has an exception.)
So, if you want to join two independent clauses, like Billie sang and Finneas played the piano, with a coordinating conjunction, you can do so without a comma, because these two clauses are short and closely connected:
Billie sang and Finneas played the piano.
Billie sang but Finneas played the piano.
Billie sang so Finneas played the piano.
This exception also applies to imperative sentences where the subject (you) is omitted but understood, e.g., Get up and stand tall.
However, a comma would still have to precede the coordinating conjunction if you are joining more than two clauses. Here’s an example:
Billie sang, Finneas played the piano, and I watched the show.
So, essentially, you should follow the general rule unless you are joining two very short and strongly related independent clauses.
3. COMMAS WITH COMPOUND PREDICATES: THE GENERAL RULE
According to the CMoS, “a comma is not normally used to separate a two-part compound predicate joined by a coordinating conjunction.”
Just one question: What??? Let's break it down.
What is a predicate? It is the part of a sentence or clause that describes the action but not the subject. So, in the sentence Oppenheimer created the atomic bomb, Oppenheimer would be the subject and created the atomic bomb the predicate.
A compound predicate occurs when two or more verbs share the same subject. So, if a single subject is shared by two or more clauses, and that subject is not repeated after the first clause, you’re dealing with a compound predicate. In the sentence I gambled with Jesper and ate waffles with Nina, the subject of both the predicates gambled with Jesper and ate waffles with Nina, is I. However, I is not repeated after the first clause. So, we’re working with a compound predicate.
Therefore, the general rule is: Do not use a comma when joining a compound predicate with a coordinating conjunction. Here are some examples:
Joe broke up with Taylor Swift and divorced Sophie.
Yennefer wanted to be a mother but could not have a baby.
You should join Jinx or listen to Vi.
4. COMMAS WITH COMPOUND PREDICATES: THE EXCEPTIONS
However, a comma may be necessary to prevent misreading or confusion even if you are joining a compound predicate with a coordinating conjunction. For example, in the sentence I recognized the man who attended the concert, and fainted, the comma before and is necessary to indicate that it is the speaker who fainted, not the man attending the concert. Here are more examples:
He loved the girl who rode a dragon, and wielded shadows.
She dislikes the man who has titanium teeth, but wears Yeezy shoes.
Additionally, you should also use a comma before the word then if it is being used as shorthand for and then even if that comma separates a two-part compound predicate. So, you would write: He attended her show and then gave her a friendship bracelet or He attended her show, then gave her a friendship bracelet.
Finally, the CMoS indicates that “compound predicates of three or more parts treated as a series are punctuated accordingly.” So, if you have a single subject performing three or more actions, you would use a comma before the coordinating conjunction. For example:
Selena attended the Golden Globes, released new music, and became a billionaire.
Victoria published a book, increased her Instagram following, and announced a book tour.
5. COMMAS WITH INTRODUCTORY DEPENDENT CLAUSES
Now that we’ve gotten independent clauses out of the way, let’s talk about dependent clauses. A dependent clause cannot stand as a sentence on its own and is connected to a main, independent clause. So, in the sentence Damon drinks blood, because he is a vampire, because he is a vampire is a dependent clause, since it does not make sense on its own. Subordinating conjunctions—like if, because, whether, or when—are used to join dependent and main clauses.
According to the CMoS, “when a dependent clause precedes the main, independent clause, it should be followed by a comma.” So, when the dependent clause comes first, you separate the clauses with a comma. Here are some examples:
If Sokka trains with Suki, he will become a better warrior.
Because Kim is a successful businesswoman, she gave a lecture at Harvard.
When Nyx is older, he will train with Cassian.
6. COMMAS WITH DEPENDENT CLAUSES THAT FOLLOW THE MAIN CLAUSE
If the main clause is followed by the dependent clause, you have to determine whether the latter is restrictive or nonrestrictive.
The CMoS clarifies that a dependent clause is restrictive if it is “essential to fully understanding the meaning of the main clause.” For example, in the sentence Sokka will become a better warrior if he trains with Suki, it isn’t certain that Sokka will become a better warrior. The dependent clause if he trains with Suki adds information that is vital to understanding the main clause. Therefore, it is a restrictive dependent clause.
If a restrictive dependent clause follows the main clause, you should not place a comma before the conjunction. Here are two examples:
Nyx will train with Cassian when he is older.
Kourtney wasn’t mad because of the fashion show; she was mad because of the timing.
A dependent clause is nonrestrictive if it is not essential to the meaning of the main clause. For instance, in the sentence Margot is a good actress, whether you like her or not, the dependent clause whether you like her or not can be omitted without changing the meaning of the main clause.
If a nonrestrictive dependent clause follows the main clause, the subordinating conjunction should be preceded by a comma. Here are two examples:
I’d like to watch Mean Girls, if you don’t mind.
He arrived hours later, when the movie was already over.
However, sometimes this can be a tricky differentiation to make. Take the sentence Kourtney wasn’t mad because of the fashion show. Without the comma, Kourtney is still mad, just not about the fashion show. Add a comma before because, and the fashion show becomes the reason she’s not mad. The CMoS’s advice? “If in doubt, rephrase.”
7. COMMAS WITH INTERVENING DEPENDENT CLAUSES
When a dependent clause is located between two other clauses, meaning that the two conjunctions are right next to each other, the conjunctions don’t have to be separated by a comma. Here are some examples:
Violet tried to decipher the journal for days, but if Dain had not given her advice, the truth would have remained concealed.
Zuko stood up for the soldiers, and when his father ordered him to fight back, he refused.
They decided that if Percy didn’t return the lightning bolt, he wouldn’t see his mother.
Technically, there’s nothing wrong with adding a comma in between these conjunctions. In fact, it might even be preferred in certain cases for emphasis or clarity.
8. COMMAS WITH RELATIVE CLAUSES
Finally, let’s look at relative clauses. A relative clause provides information about a noun. For instance, in the sentence The book that she wrote years ago was published this year, that she wrote years ago is a relative clause, because it tells us more about the noun (book).
According to the CMoS, “restrictive relative clauses are never set off by commas from the rest of the sentence.” As with dependent clauses, a relative clause is restrictive if it provides information that is crucial to understanding the rest of the sentence. In the example above, the reader wouldn’t have known which book the author is referring to without the relative clause that she wrote years ago, so no commas are used. Restrictive relative clauses are usually introduced by the pronouns that, who, whom, or whose. Here are some examples:
I prefer to support politicians who stand up against genocide.
The joke that he made at the Golden Globes was sexist.
The author whose work I like the most has just released a new book.
This rule applies even when these pronouns are omitted:
The movie I just watched won an Academy Award.
The people we follow on social media have a big impact on our lives.
A nonrestrictive relative clause, on the other hand, is not essential to the identity of the noun to which it refers. In the sentence Sarah’s House of Flame and Shadow, which I finished last night, is a great book, the relative clause which I finished last night can be omitted without changing the meaning of the sentence. So, it is nonrestrictive. Nonrestrictive relative clauses are set off from the rest of the sentence by commas. These clauses are usually introduced by which, who, whom, or whose. Here are some examples:
I prefer to read about scholarly characters, who are less likely to be ignorant.
Madelyn Cline, whose most famous movie is Glass Onion, was seen with Pete Davidson.
The talk show, which recently featured Sydney Sweeney, has celebrities eating spicy food as they answer questions.
So, to sum up (TL; DR):
• If you want to join two independent clauses with a coordinating conjunction, you should add a comma before that conjunction unless the two clauses are short and closely connected.
• Do not use a comma when joining a compound predicate with a coordinating conjunction unless:
o a comma is necessary to prevent a misreading;
o then is being used as shorthand for and then; or
o a compound predicate of three or more parts is being treated as a series.
• If a dependent clause precedes a main, independent clause, add a comma after the dependent clause.
• If a restrictive dependent clause follows a main clause, do not add a comma before the subordinating conjunction.
• If a nonrestrictive dependent clause follows a main clause, you should add a comma before the subordinating conjunction.
• When a dependent clause is located between two other clauses, meaning that the two conjunctions are right next to each other, the conjunctions don’t have to be separated by a comma.
• A restrictive relative clause is not set off with commas.
• A nonrestrictive relative clause is set off with commas.
There you have it; those are the rules for comma usage when joining clauses, at least in terms of the CMoS. In the wise words of Neil Gaiman: “It’s that easy, and that hard.”

Chapter 1
The sea waves were softer than they had been in weeks. As he commands his ship across the ocean to arrive at the king's call. Godbrand thought of the recent news that had so many other General's furious.
The king, Dracula himself, was marrying a Human woman.
Dracula called on his council to not only meet his wife but their so appointed Queen. From what he had heard or gathered through stops and gathering supplies or feasting on the local villages of livestock, Many General's had refused even going as far to pull away their support wanting to be separated from the king. Apparently it hadn't ended well for them.
For Bastards to be around for so long, it was surprising to find out that this was the line they were willing to go against the old man.
It was almost amusing to the Viking General, They spent the past few centuries ignoring or shutting him down when he did try to speak at the meetings. Calling his point of views on their tactics or other things scribblings of a child, simply because he was the youngest among them.
fifth youngest.
He had to remind himself as he moved to turn to the front of his ship.
There were those newerlings that had taken over Styria. When the call from the king came the new vampiresses sent the king's wife fine garments, jewelry and gowns. With their apologies for needing to decline the call due to the shift of power in the frozen land they strived in.
It was granted seeing as the King had called for the old vampire ruler of those lands and that the newlings taking over had not seemed disrespectful.
While it was a disappointment in not getting to see the newlings in the council, Godbrand wasn't going to the king's castle for them.
He was going to see if it was true.
That the king of Vampires was really serious about marrying a human pet. To make a human pet his bride and Queen over all vampires.
To see if the King had finally gone mad like the other Generals who pulled away and had disappeared surely by being killed for going against the old man himself.
That's what separates Godbrand from the others, He didn't do the whole he said thing. He didn't like the wild spread of rumors that could easily be changed and fit to one's agenda. He prefers going straight to the source himself.
So that was what he was doing when his ship ported in Wallachia. Traveled through the land to the Kings Castle to attend this meeting of vampires and to see the Human who took the Old man's stone cold heart for her own.
Lisa Of Lupu.
A Human woman in a small room full of vampires centuries old and older who saw her as nothing but livestock and a pet of the king they believed had lost his mind.
And yet her resolve was unwavering, her eyes never looked away from the generals eyes, If she had any hint of fear she never showed it. If any of the vampires in the council room had intemendated her, they would never know for how she held her head high beside the King. It was something Godbrand could respect, he supposed the woman had a pretty face but other than that he saw nothing special of her. He didn't see what Dracula saw in her and he didn't have any strive to find out.
The meeting went as about what could be expected, The king announced that Lisa was his wife and that she was to be respected as the Queen. What had surprised him was how the woman seemed to reject such notions only claiming she was his wife nothing more.
A notion that surely irked some of the Vampiresses in the room, for this little human pet was being given such a powerful role that she didn't even understand it. Or perhaps she did.
Godbrand didn't care much about it as they went over discussions of Territories and the livestocks current little wars.
So much delicious blood being wasted by their wars over nonsense.
The General's disgusting ways to turn the wars into the vampires favors once more, the typical goals.
The viking general wondered how the human pet was taking their conversations. Seeing how her husband and his men thought about her own kind. Using them for their own gains and if she had any rejections or hatred she did not show it, her displeasure or perhaps empathy for the humans suffering in the wars, but other than that nothing. Her hand kept moving to rest on her stomach, seeming to absentmindedly do such actions.
Such actions that kept him silent during the meeting, an unusuality for him and didn't go unnoticeable from the king.
When the meeting was adjourned and the other generals left, Godbrand moved, finishing the last of his blood in the dainty glasses the King used getting up.
"Little Godbrand, your tongue seemed to be missing this evening." The king's words called making him pause and turn to look at the old man. His dainty wife beside him, her blue eyes seeming to fall on him as well hands on her stomach once more.
Perhaps he had stared too much at them.
"You are more observant than I had thought." The old man mused.
"So she is then?" He spoke, watching his words carefully, he knew well that the king had a peculiar way of handling those who had offended him and Godbrand hadn't seen all that the ocean had to offer nor fancied dying so soon into his seemingly immortal life.
"What little vampire?"
The air grew more chilly than the land's winters and it was merely autumn on the trees.
"Will it live? Is it possible?"
A human having a vampire's child, that was something He had never thought about before, nor had thought was possible.
Sure he had his fun with harlots as much as he pleased, and there were chances of vampires conceiving but the chances were so thin that heirs were chosen by Vampires turning a hand pick disciple.
But a child born of human and vampire blood? What could such a creature even survive? Then again, He doubted the king would go so far out of the way that it was unnecessary to bring the pet he decided to marry pain ... .Or maybe he would, perhaps the king was more cruel than ever.
"We believe it is possible. So far I've been careful." The woman spoke, her voice was soft as she rubbed her stomach that showed no real sign of life in her womb.
Godbrand took that information with a silent nod as he moved to leave, the king seemed to allow him to as well.
The young Vampire found himself thinking back to that meeting, that fleeting moment he was given alone with the King and his mortal bride. He was unsure about his thoughts as he watched his men tear through a village he planned on taking over. Watching humans scream and run as his men tode through their limbs and necks. Blood staining snow as it rushed along the village proximity in small rivers.
The next meeting he had attended the King's pet was nowhere to be seen and the King's patience seemed slim as thin ice.
He had later found the woman when he walked through the castle's Halls to live, hearing her in a room which had the small beginning of childrens things. She was crying those clear crystalline tears when her head snapped towards him.
"It didn't make it." Was all she offered him, making the Viking silent.
He had never needed to give condolences in many many years and so he held his tongue as he watched the human move down a small blanket to her lap.
He left the human pet to her mourning.
He fed from a man who had some sort of bravery to attack him as he watched other human bodies be torn through like ancient parchment.
Men and women torn and scattered in the snow, children either sharing same fates or sobbing clinging to their dead mothers sides as they watched the horrors of masters of the night feast among their friends and families before there flight sensory came to them making them gallop through the snow like herds of deer fleeing from a forest fire.
A sound by a nearby cabin caught his ears as he moved towards it, his eyes landing on a young woman holding onto a dead human man, her eyes staring up at him wide and streaming crystalline tears.
She was merely several years from her beginning years of womanhood, possibly her early twenties and she did seem to have the hips to survive pushing a child out.
Godbran moved towards her watching the human scramble away fear filling the air from her.
"I'll give you a choice lass. You can die tonight like the others, or you can try baring a little lad for me and be let go to live with the rest of the livestock as soon as he walks."
She had chosen the later option and she had followed behind him silently to his ship.
through the massacre of her village and burning home to be a vampire's breeder.
The human woman he had taken did better on land than sea and so he had to live with her in the safety of his lands, where his men's women could watch her closely and aid when it came to the excitements of childbirth.
Many of them were not sure why his sudden interest in such things but they did not question him. He was the chieftain and he provided his clan with as much blood and human pets as they desired. Why would they stay too focused on his current interest, even dare to question them.
His little mother had lost many, barely making it a few months from when she would stop her monthly bleed mother nature's way of showing she was with child. Each time she mourned over them, whether it was because her freedom slipped away or she actually had mother instincts to them. Godbrand was only interested in what she had changed, what she ate differently? Did she over exert herself? Did she move around too little, coddling the pregnancy too much for a hellspawns liking?
Or was such a possibility of a Human and Vampire sharing blood in the form of a child even possible to begin with?
During most of the human womens miscarriages Godbrand had heard rumors through the sea winds that Dracula's little wife was having such problems as well.
Yet they were still trying to create such an impossibility. It seems like He too was trying as well, only to see if such a creature could be born and what conditions were needed for it to happen.
After a solid two years his little mother to bear his hellspawned had passed the few months range. Her body even started to change and show his seed taking sprout.
There was curious excitement in his clan, or more so curiosity. Everyone in his clan was interested to see his human give birth to his hellspawn.  The pregnancy seemed to be going smoother than the others and his little mothers diet was steady on freshly killed lamb. The spring seemed to be a better time than the following seasons.
But despite how well the human pregnancy went with his undeadish offspring it had ended with her giving birth to a quite dead thing. Simply born way too early and deformed and as Godbrand inspected the thing that came from his human pet, she had sobbed for it.
"Please…Please let me hold them." She had sobbed in her blood soaked sheets.
He didn't.
He carried the dead little thing wrapped in a ripped sheet, the womans shrieks piercing his ears as he left the Hut that she stayed in.
It had fangs.
It was blue like a corpse and just wrong in all sorts of ways.
But, this one had come so much further than the others.
Godbrand had stood over the sea looking down from the cliffs of his village as he dropped the blanket and the dead little thing to it, watching its waves devour what could have been.
He would let his little mother rest before he would fill her womb once again to have her cook another hellish spawn.
The next Seven were born similarly or simply unfit to live. The second, third and fourth were born way too soon, leading him to question the reasoning and the sudden change of his little mothers health. She seemed weaker and tended to pass out more and more even if she barely moved around.
By The Fifth, Things had shifted. A steady supply of blood added to his pets diet had led her to being able to carry the hellish thing to labor.
But it didn't live any longer than a mere few hours. It didn't even bother to respond to any method of his pet trying to care for it.
Seemingly dying out of spite for its birth.
The sixth shared a similar birth and death as its fifth sibling.
The seventh had been born wrong, nearly bringing his human pet to her death as well as it tore its way in her body, to tangle itself in the womb and be born strangled by her umbilical cord.
You were the eighth.
Born almost similarly to the seventh.
But you had fallen out of your human mother when the nursing woman had her stand up and squat, learning from the last one well, and had dangled by your neck just above the floor before you were scooped up and  wrapped into a blanket. You did not scream or cry and they believed you too had been born wrong like the others. You were taken out of the room from your crying mother and brough just outside to your father. Godbrand had taken you in his arms, carrying you to the cliffs that overlooked the sea.
He had you outstretched over the ledge and was about to release you and have you return to the hells you were sent from until the wind had faintly carried the faintest of gurgles from your throat to his sharp ears.
The Viking general had pulled your hanging blanket from the clift and nack to his chest opening the covering to see your pale and blue tinted flesh resembling a corpse and yet your face turning in hues of purples, your chest convoluted here and there and bubbles leaving your tiny mouth.
His eyes narrowed on the cord still wrapped so tightly around your neck before taking a claw slicing through it with ease, the flesh falling away from your neck and your chest heaved with air.
A small hellish pitch wailed over the cliffs at the sea and it echoed through his village as he carried you back to the hut his pet, your mother stayed in.
You were given back to your human mother who had weeped holding you tightly to her chest rushing to feed you.
And fed you did, with a mixture of your mothers blood and Milk from her bosoms.
You had survived the night and seemed to be eager to continue to live your strange blooded life. You grew faster than human children, by four months you were already the size of a year old and were starting to stand and take first steps.
Already recognizing him as your father despite his distance from you traveling back and forth to Wallachia for the king's call of his council and back to the land that was your home.
He was coming back from Wallachia this time with Gifts to the old man and his wife, well made fur blankets to keep the king's pet warm during the winter months in Wallachia and a small flock of sheep expecting to birth lambs. He had joked obnoxiously like was expected of him,  about how Lamb's blood is sweeter when freshly born and he left it to that. It was to the old man if caught onto the hidden hint at aiding his human bride's current pregnancy.
The village was eager to greet their chieftain and sailors as they unloaded his current ship of loot from several human villages in nearbying lands they pillaged. Dragging tied humans from.the ship that would be food to them all.
An Excited shrill cooing in the crowd making him look to see your mother carrying you on her hip towards the ship. You bounced against it until she placed you down on the green grass that the moonlight gleaned from. He watched you wobbly walk over to him, a wide smile on your face despite what seemed to be a bright red rash over your face and arms.
He carelessly picked you up holding you away from him as he inspected your small body.
His eyes snapping to the human woman.
"Why is he sick." He wasn't asking and she by now knew that.
"He was playing in the river while I was washing his clothes. The rash came hours after we left it." Her frail voice spoke as she looked down docile.
His eyes moved back to you,Taking in your features. Your hair color is highlighted with his shade of red hair, your eyes of your mothers unlike his. You had rounded ears like your human mother if anything you looked more human like her than vampire like him. Yet you had fangs you inherited from him.
You could and did go into moving water and had not disintegrated on immediate touch Another little discovery he learnt with your existence.
Half breeds like yourself could go into the sun without suffering too much at all.
You could go into moving water, something that could kill him. A death he risked everytime he took a step on his ships.
He wondered if the King and his human pet child would be able to do the same things as you, his half breed son could.
Or would their child have different abilities?
He carried you to a captured human and he snatched the human by their neck ripping it open with his own fangs swallowing the chunk of flesh before moving you to the gushing throat.
When it was time to feed, that's when he got to see himself in you. How your eyes would glow in bloodlust, fangs growing ever so slightly longer and your nails would sharpen to claws. You would feast as ravenously as he did and he watched you feast without any remorse, a grin forming over his lips, his bloody fangs glinting in the moonlight.
"Atta lad, Gotta get ya grown to ya can aboard the ships too my boy. And when ya pillage your first village, then i'll name ya boy."
He said with his wide grin watching you guzzle down the rushing blood of the dying human.
He would not speak of your existence to any of the generals and not to the king and his human let if they could not succeed in having a half breed child like he did.
His curiosity from if such a creature like you were possible now Satisfied. He could have killed you now and be done, but as he watches you pull your small head away covered in blood looking like a small reflection of himself. He couldn't.
You were His blood.
A continuation of his bloodline.
And despite you being purposely born a half breed and would be looked down upon like the livestock you fed from.
You were His son, and Godbrand would make you into a fearsome Viking and Vampire where the other vampires in neighboring lands will doubt if you ever had an ounce of human in you.

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 1 MASHUP 10
Lisa of Lupu/Lisa Ţepeş (Netflix Castlevania) vs Dr. Saira Bellum (Carmen Sandiego)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lisa of Lupu/Lisa Ţepeş is a 15th Century Medic!
Dr. Saira Bellum... uhh... makes gadgets! (I dunno what word to use)
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Lisa of Lupu/Lisa Ţepeş:
"Saved a lot of people during the epidemic but was burned at the stake for it. Wife of Dracula."
"Quick-witted, kindhearted MILF. Plus she loved Alucard with all her heart🥺💕"
"Went to see THE Dracula just so she could understand how the world worked and help people with that knowledge and was so cool and slay that when she died he tried to destroy the entire world as revenge <3"
"As a woman in medieval Wallachia she had very little resources to pursue her passion, so the mad woman went and knocked on Dracula's door and demanded he teach her the real science from ages past that only vampires remember. She was so good at what she did the local government mistook her for a witch and had her burned at the stake. She wasn't seeking out knowledge for knowledge sake or prestige or anything either, she just had an incredible deep desire to genuinely help people. Also Dracula was so enamored by her audacity that he married her and they had a kid. So she's a milf too, that should count for something"
"Vampire milf"
"She studied medicine so she could actually help people. She was dedicated enough to it to travel to Dracula's castle to ask him to teach her and show her the marvels of technology that he kept. And for this she was burned at the stake"
Dr. Saira Bellum:
"What that ask said"
Said ask: "- Her name is Saira Bellum - "Cerebellum" LITERALLY A SCIENCE JOKE - She is a short queen. She is the shortest actually. - She is evil. She gets paid to be evil. Her job description is to be an evil mad scientist. - She's nonbinary and ace. To me. - Her (tall af) coworker is the only one to call her by her first name... Gay... - Cool hair"
"She’s very evil and also very competent, but only with science. Additionally, she’s best friends with a fashionista and is probably more motivated by curiosity and entertainment in her villainy than anything else."
"science name, mad scientist, shes quite cool"
"she's a mad scientist what more do you need???????????????? she has a failed runway model gf <3 and they're both evill"
"She is literally the mad scientist of all time. She works for a organisation of theives and makes them gadgets to do evil stuff. The organisation is literally called VILE (EVIL backward). Also she is non-binary coded. She has awesome hair. I'm pretty sure she has a homoerotic rivalry with a posh Egyptian lady. And she's Desi so... She's everything to me. Carmen Sandiego is such a good show actually"

Hi! I noticed you’re following Dracula Daily; I’m new to it and am loving it! Is there anything about Romanian culture or geography mentioned in the book that you can elaborate on for people outside of Romania? Thanks!
Hi! I'm glad you like it!
That's a really good question, and there's actually a lot of ground to cover here.
Quick disclaimer: Dracula isn't actually that accurate a representation of Romanian culture and history, and a lot of Romanians dislike it for that reason. Also because this is the only media featuring Romania that made it big and now we're associated with vampires. 😬 But I hope the new interest in the book will inspire people to check out our country for what it really is.
First of all, Dracula himself. In the book he's heavily implied to be Vlad Țepeș (The Impaler), or Vlad Dracula as he was also known. Vlad ruled Wallachia during the 1400s and was greatly respected and feared. He punished criminals by impaling them (hence the first nickname) and crime was low during his rule because he was very harsh. 'Drac' means demon or devil, so that was his other nickname because of his severity. But all in all he was a good ruler and he wasn't a vampire, nor were there any rumors to that effect until Bram Stoker got the idea.
Castle Bran, which is commonly known as Dracula's castle now, wasn't actually Vlad's. He might have stayed there once but it was more commonly used by Queen Maria, during the early 20th century.
We do have snow in the mountains, but only in winter or the early spring max. So for it to be snowing in May doesn't make sense. 😅
Trains are still commonly late here, to the point it's a running joke about our primary train company, CFR. It's funny that Jonathan had the same issue that I do every time I take a trip to Bucharest. 😂
I mentioned this in another post, but paprika hendl is called papricaș here. It's really good, and I often make it with mămăligă at home. (You're not a proper Romanian if you don't like mămăligă, by the way. 😆 My great-grandparents would make it hard and use it instead of bread.)
Transylvania belonged to Austria-Hungary until the end of WWI, when it was taken over by Romania. They still haven't gotten over it. Point being, there are a LOT of Hungarians and Hungarian speakers in that region, so it would have made more sense for everyone to know Hungarian in the book rather than German.
Romanians are, especially in the rural areas, friendly and helpful. We look out for the others in our group, especially if they're young. So everyone that helps Jonathan until he meets the count? That would happen.
Those are the main things I can think of right now, more will probably come to me as we get farther through the book. But feel free to hit me up if you have any more questions!

Writeblr Intro
─────🌹─────
Hello, all!
My name is Kendra, and this is my writeblr introduction. It's a bit simple stylistically, but that's how I am. Now, onto the intro!
I'm currently twenty-six (will be twenty-seven in approximately five months), use she/her pronouns, and am an asexual, demiromantic, biromantic cisgender woman (may as well cover all the bases, right?). I was born and raised in Northern California, spent my undergraduate years in Oregon, and then returned to NorCal, where I still reside.
I have an MA in History, a BA in Religious Studies, and a double minor in History and Psychology.
I've been on this website for over a decade (via my main blog), and have been writing in general for almost fifteen years. I started out with original works, then discovered fanfiction, and worked solely on that for over a decade, before slowly venturing back into original works again. Nowadays, I write both concurrently, though I admittedly do still find fanfiction easier, and my original works often take a backseat to my fics. Yet, somehow, I've ended up with a (current) total of six WIPs — all of which I will introduce you to today.
It's been a long time since I've shared my original works with such a large audience, so I have some natural apprehension, but ultimately I'm looking forward to doing it again.
Now, without further ado, I present my WIPs!
─────🌹─────
The Road To Eternity Is Paved With Blood (drafting)
Dracula's Daughter (outlining) (prequel/sequel to Road To Eternity)
The Wrath Of The Vampire Queen (outlining + drafting)
For The Love Of A Goddess (outlining)
The Other Side Of Paradise (outlining)
Red Thread Of Fate: Love In The Modern World (outlining + drafting)
─────🌹─────
The Road To Eternity Is Paved With Blood is a Dracula retelling of sorts that was inspired largely by Hellsing, with other snippets of inspiration taken from Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) and Dracula Untold (2014). The story begins in the 1880s, and extends at the very least to the early 1900s. It follows the life and times of Rose Rowan, a beautiful noblewoman, and her relationship with her husband, Vlad Draculea (former Voivode of Wallachia, and member of the House of Drăculești), as they navigate eternity and a life of vampirism together. Her twin brother, Judas, is also featured prominently — as are his experiences with vampirism, which contrasts some with his sister's. Of course, as with every good Gothic novel, there is darkness to be found within this tale. Abraham Van Helsing and his ilk have made it their mission to bring about the end of Vlad Draculea, and anyone connected to him. The challenge in this quest, however, lies in said connections that Vlad has — namely Rose, who will stop at nothing to protect him from the infamous vampire hunter. She will have her fairytale ending, even if it has to be achieved through darker means. For while the road to hell may be paved with good intentions, the road to eternity is paved with blood.
🌹🌹🌹
Dracula's Daughter is a sequel/prequel to the above story, and focuses on Beáta, the daughter of Vlad from one of his late wives. She is also a vampire, and has been living for centuries, though largely on her own. She has lived many lives, and is a worldly young woman, though at the beginning of our story she has come home to Wallachia to see her father again after his most recent remarriage, and to meet his new wife. While she ultimately becomes fond of her new step-mother, she also has to contend with the sinister plotting of some of her father's immortal brides — namely The Queen — who would like nothing more than to rid Vlad of his new wife. Thinking herself as perhaps the only one who can bring peace and stability to the family, Beáta wrestles with who she should side with, or if she should side with anyone at all. There is more to her new step-mother than meets the eye, however, and Beáta soon finds that perhaps she is not as alone in this fight as she thought. In fact, for the first time in centuries, she has someone on her side who will fight with sharp claws and bloodied teeth to make sure such a conflict will never come to pass again.
🌹🌹🌹
The Wrath Of The Vampire Queen is a story somewhat inspired by Dracula Untold (2014), as well as the life and times of Vlad the Impaler. The tale begins in the mid-1400s, where Vlad Draculea and his wife, Senka Slavkov (born Deirdre Delacroix) are navigating the wars and politics of his reign. It then extends well into several of the following centuries, where Senka is still searching for her husband centuries after his disappearance (which occurs some years after his historically recorded death). Her brother, Didier Delacroix (who adopted the name 'Renatus' upon arriving in Wallachia), a dhampir, accompanies her in her search, as they are the only family each has left, and his connections with the Church and various religious organizations consistently prove vital to their search. Senka believes she knows exactly who took her husband — Hungarian and Turkish enemies from his mortal life, now vampires themselves. Didier, however, is not so certain, as some things don't add up. Still, they both believe that Vlad is out there somewhere, and will continue their search until they find him — be it alive or truly dead. If it is the latter, then there will be no saving his former captors from the wrath of Senka Slavkov, the vicious and vindictive Vampire Queen.
🌹🌹🌹
For The Love Of A Goddess is a story set in the present day, and follows two young women — Megara and Zarina — as they navigate their lives as best they can. These two women are the best of friends, and share in many things — including being chosen by two goddesses to be their mortal partners in this iteration of their immortal lives. Megara, a historian and religious studies scholar, caught the eye of Athena, who admired her intellect just as much as her beauty. Zarina, a librarian with a previous background in psychology, attracts the attention of Aphrodite, who finds her beauty to be dazzling, and the depth of her kindness and compassion to be a rare thing in such an egocentric world. While very happy with their respective partners, Megara and Zarina find that being with immortals comes with a variety of challenges — and not just the more obvious ones. Athena and Aphrodite are just two of an endless list of deities who are trying to survive in a growing atheist world, and if they lose this fight, they may very well disappear for good. Not wanting such a thing to occur, all four women come together to try and create a plan to prevent this disappearance from happening — though they face difficulties in the form of other various deities not wanting to band together to save each other from extinction. After all, immortals are just as egocentric as the mortals they so often think of themselves as better than, and much more difficult to persuade. Thus, the four women must not only enact a plan to prevent the extinction of various deities, but also contend with the fact that they may be the only ones in this fight. With time very much not on their side, this group of mortals and immortals must figure out a way to ensure that they do not lose this existential battle, and keep the existence of so many deities alive.
🌹🌹🌹
The Other Side Of Paradise is a retelling of Genesis in some ways, with the focus being on Lilith and Eve, rather than Adam and Eve. It begins in the Garden of Eden, with Eve pondering the idea of a world outside of the garden, and curiosity about her husband's alleged first wife, who had fled Eden long before Eve's creation. Eventually, Eve dared to venture to the edge of the garden, and it was there she saw Lilith. The two spoke over the wall, and met every day thereafter, eventually becoming friends. Lilith tried to get Eve to leave both Eden and Adam, but Eve was just the slightest bit apprehensive. Eventually, after tasting the forbidden fruit from the tree, Eve was expelled from the garden, and Lilith was there to greet her upon her exit. Eve, who was excited by the prospect of seeing the world, happily took Lilith's offered arm, and went off with her. The two spent many eons together, though not always in the same physical forms, as souls eventually begin to outlast bodies. In the present day, their souls have come to reside in the bodies of two young women who have never met, but are destined to find each other — as that is what souls do.
🌹🌹🌹
Red Thread Of Fate: Love In The Modern World is a story about two young women, Shu Nazhi and Zhou Xue Li, who live in similar yet vastly different worlds. Shu Nazhi is a businesswoman who runs her family's company with the help of her older brother, Hou Zhu Zhi, and younger sister, Shu Nuan. Zhou Xue Li is a model, actress, and singer, who is down on her luck when it comes to love. The two are introduced by a mutual friend (Nazhi's foster sister of sorts, and Xue Li's close friend) under the guise of Nazhi being Xue Li's new bodyguard, and become close over the course of Nazhi's assignment. After Nazhi finds herself falling for Xue Li, she turns in her letter of resignation, and then promptly asks Xue Li out upon the latter's acceptance of said letter. Xue Li, already secretly head-over-heels in love, happily accepts, and the two spend the day doing various activities throughout the city. The relationship, blissful as it is, also comes with the complications of things like paparazzi, work commitments, as well as their differing personalities and lifestyles. As the two women navigate these challenges, they begin to wonder about what it would have been like to love each other in a different time, and if they ever did — for they know that the red thread of fate works in mysterious ways, and that some souls are always destined to find each other.
(Disclaimer: Zhou Xue Li was created by/belongs to @bwaldorf, who was kind enough to allow me to use her in my story)

Romania and his relationships
Tumblr media
La mulți ani, România! 🇷🇴
As a special treat for today, here are some headcanons about Ro and his closest relationships throughout the years. The lines stand for family, friends and tense relations.
Romania
Was "born" as a result of the Romanization of Dacia (106 - 271 CE)
And gradually became known as Wallachia even though he represented all the Romanians in the Carpato-Danubian-Pontic territory.
A troublemaker with a fatalist attitude.
He's a gourmand but regrets it because his food is heavy.
Is acutely aware of his position as a Latin "island" in a Slavic "sea” and is extra sensitive when people try to deny his heritage.
Has a complicated relationship with the Church. His faith is almost as important to his identity as his language because it kept him from assimilating with the empires which ruled him (the Catholic Austro-Hungarians and the Muslim Ottomans).
Lately, his fashion choices have become more daring and experimental.
He's very street-smart and can blend in with any crowd.
He's very superstitious and believes in old-world remedies. He’s big on conspiracies and sometimes thinks the world is plotting against him.
Is proud of the inventions his people gifted the world, like the fountain pen, the first experimental air jet, insulin and so on.
Does anything in his power to avoid staying in Bucharest and owns houses in several cities (like in Sibiu).
Still does not know what to make of communism.
He's a sweet tooth and has been known to claim ownership of his neighbors' food: "What do you mean găluște cu prune are not Romanian? Of course they are!"
He'll roll his eyes when he hears someone mention Dracula but will overlook it if it brings him 💰.
Can speak Greek thanks to being ruled by Phanariots for so long.
Wants to punch something every time Ned opens his mouth. The same goes for Hungary.
He's hardworking and eager to keep up with the rest of the world.
Romania has one of the highest emigration rates in the EU so Ro should have an episode in which he travels abroad to work just like Romano.
Romania and Bulgaria
One of Ro's closest and longest relationships.
They've seen each other at their best and worst.
Their earliest encounter occurred between the 3rd and 7th centuries when the Bulgar and Slav migratory peoples crossed Ro's territory to settle south of the Danube.
Back in the day, Bul personally taught Ro the Cyrillic alphabet. Ro went on to use it until 1862 when the then-ruler of the United Romanian Principalities decreed that the Latin alphabet must replace the Romanian Cyrillic alphabet.
That's right, kids. Romanian, a Latin language, used to be written in Slavic script.
Saw a great deal of each other during their time as Ottoman vassals.
Ro had personally sheltered Bul during his time as a revolutionary émigré. Wallachia became a safe haven for hundreds of Bulgarian revolutionaries during Ottoman rule. After Bulgaria's liberation in 1878, many chose to stay behind and settle in Romania.
Even though Ro and Bul did not always fight on the same side, they hold no resentment over their past. Only friendly jibes! Like Bul calling Ro a "shameless mămăligă eater."
Bul's seaside is very popular among Romanians, so Ro likes to visit Bul during summertime when Bul can hang out in his boxers all he wants and Ro can visit his late queen’s palace.
Nowadays, they bond over being EU’s late-bloomers and GOSSIP. Ro talks himself hoarse on the phone with Bul.
They also discuss the latest Turkish telenovelas but would rather die than admit they like them.
Ro and Russia
A very tense relationship
Have met first through Ro's little brother when Dimitrie Cantemir allied with Peter the Great to form an anti-Ottoman alliance.
Their relationship formalized during the 18th and 19th centuries when Russia demanded a say in Mol and Ro's internal affairs as the "big brother" of all Orthodox Christians in the Ottoman Empire.
Even though the Russian occupation protectorate did not benefit Ro and Mol much, it introduced the two brothers to their first government by law.
With the occupation, the Russians also brought over nobility customs, like ballroom dancing.
After Russia helped Ro gain his independence from the Ottoman Empire, the relationship got warmer (for a while).
King Carol I of Romania had even considered Tsar Nicholas's eldest daughter, Olga, a potential bride for his grandson, Carol II.
But after the Bolshevik takeover and the assassination of the Romanovs, Ro and Russia's relationship turned icy again.
One of the most sensitive topics today is the loss of Romania's national treasure, which was transported to Russia during WWI for safekeeping. Romania had to decide between sending the treasure to Great Britain or Russia. In the end, we chose to send Russia 93 tons of treasure as a display of mutual trust. After the October Revolution, the Bolsheviks seized the treasure and refused to return it. Since then, minuscule parts of the treasure have been returned as displays of "goodwill."
Their relationship hit an all-time low after the loss of Moldova and the installation of the communist regime.
Nowadays, Ro tries to keep his distance from Russia as much as geographically possible.
Ro and Hungary
Ro’s other historically tumultuous relationship
Ro has been the underdog for much of their shared history, but the tables turned after 1918 with Transylvania's independence and Romania’s unification.
Ro remembers a time when both had fought against a common enemy - the Ottoman Empire.
But that alone isn't enough to get over their past.
Ro probably gatecrashed Austria and Hungary's wedding and did everything in his power to be a constant nuisance under their rule.
He sends text messages to Hungary every year on the 4th of August, saying, "you're welcome." Hungary knows to block his number on that day.
Nowadays, I see them being (somewhat) tolerant of each other (even cordial during spells of drunkenness).
Ro can speak fluent Hungarian and shares a people with Hungary.
Ro and Italy
Home to Ro's largest diaspora
One of Ro's closest relationships
Have an easy time understanding each other thanks to their common Latin heritage.
Italy is a popular holiday destination among Romanians, and Ro admires the Italy brothers' culture greatly.
Although they like to tease Ro about his Latin origins, which never fails to annoy Ro.
Ro and Spain
Home to Ro's second-largest diaspora
A generally warm relationship
Romanians are very taken with anything Spanish (see that Romania sent to Eurovision three songs in Spanish: Zaleilah, Llámame , Liubi Liubi, I Love You).
Also have an easy time understanding each other thanks to their common Latin heritage.
Both are very friendly and hospitable, but Ro tends to be more serious and pessimistic than Spain.
Ro is a big fan of Spanish telenovelas and has a romanticized image of Spain (flamenco, paella, sunshine and passionate lovers).
France and Ro
One of Ro's closest and most complicated relationships that had once resembled that between a mentor and his protégé.
Especially during Napoleon III's reign when Napoleon actively championed the unification of the Romanian Principalities (Ro and Mol) under a single ruler.
Take that Austro-Hungary, the UK and the Ottomans! 😝
Most of Ro's intellectual class during the 19th and early 20th century was educated in France or emigrated to France at some point.
In turn, plenty of important French figures contributed to Ro's modernization. French architects such as Albert Galleron built some of Romania's most symbolic landmarks, e.g., the Romanian Atheneum, while pioneers such as Carol Davila reformed Romania's national health system and founded its first ambulance system and Bucharest's School of Medicine.
Ro wanted to emulate everything French to the point that Bucharest became known as 'Little Paris' (see that we also have our own Arc de Triomphe).
Ro speaks fluent French and is an avid Francophile.
Although everyone jokes about the white-handkerchief-waving French, the opposite is true in Romania.
Much of the Romanian army's success on the Eastern Front during WWI was owed to General Henri Berthelot, who reorganized, equipped and trained the Romanian army.
After his mission here, he became so attached to Romania that upon seeing the Romanian detachment march during the 1919 Paris military parade, he told a French marshal: "Foch, saluez ! C'est la famille."
Much like Poland, Ro gave France some of his most brilliant minds and talents, like Constantin Brancuși, Emil Cioran, and Eugen Ionescu.
During the Cold War, Ro and France's relationship became colder. Yet Ro was grateful to France for sheltering his dissidents who fled the communist regime.
Nowadays, Ro still looks up to Francis but can't stand his arrogance.
Ro and Prussia
First came in contact during the Teutonic Knights' mission in Transylvania in 1211.
Maintained ties thanks to the presence of Saxons in Transylvania.
Ro and Gil became very, very close after the Romanian Parliament elected Prince Carol of the Prussian dynasty Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen to rule Romania.
Trash-talked Austria at every opportunity given the historical rivalry between the Habsburgs and the Hohenzollerns.
Had a tense relationship during WWI and WWII because Ro liked to switch sides a lot.
Ro was a neutral country until 1916, then an Entente power until 1917, then signed an armistice with the Central Powers in 1917, only to rejoin the war on the Entente's side ONE DAY before the war ended in 1918.
(Congrats Ro! You won the war out of sheer luck.)
Ro switched sides again during WWII and ended up on the Allies' side after initially joining the Axis.
You can see why Gil found Ro such a reliable ally.
Ro and Gil (then DDR) reconnected during the Cold War and maintain an amicable relationship today.
Ro speaks fluent German thanks to his Transylvanian Saxon population.
Mol and Ro
They're the cutest brothers, and I would die for them.
Their relationship holds a deep sense of loss and regret that might never disappear.
There was a time when Mol was admired by all his neighbors (like in 1497 when Ștefan cel Mare put the Polish in their place), and Ro was the proudest brother.
1859 - 1940 was perhaps the happiest time of their life because they were finally together.
Nowadays, Ro knows that Mol is not the same as he was before 1940.
After 1991, Mol found his voice, and Ro couldn't be prouder to see his little brother come into his own.
Still! His growth is so bittersweet!
Ro and Mol always give each other 12 points during Eurovision and consider it the height of betrayal if one doesn't.
Ro sometimes "forgets" to remind people that O-Zone was a Moldovan band.

5, 10, 17, 31 for both Vlad and Trystan dear Lin! <33
My most beloved Mads! Thank you for sending these my way. It means the absolute world to me! 🥰️❤️️
5. What sort of succession system is it? Agnatic? Primogeniture? Gender-biased?
In Vlad's 15th-century Wallachia, the succession system is not fixed but rather functions as a loosely structured polity. Future voivodes are chosen from any male members of the royal family who are not disfigured or maimed noticeably. This type of succession is defined as os de domn (of voivode marrow), which means that any man from the royal family (brother, nephew, son, etc.), regardless of being born as a legitimate son or not, has the right to become the ruler of the land. At the same time, the voivode does not need to consider the order in which possible successors are born but instead chooses his heir based on skills and capabilities, hence why it is not uncommon for the heir to first become the associate ruler which allows the voivode to prepare his successor and teach him the craft of politics. This type of succession is, to a certain extent, favourable as it eliminates the stigma associated with illegitimate children because, regardless of whether they are born out of wedlock or not, all male members of the family are treated equally and have the same opportunities. However, it also creates an unstable political environment characterised by frequent violent power struggles among family members.
In Trystan's 21st-century Drakovia, the succession system is primogeniture, meaning that the firstborn legitimate child inherits the throne. Unlike in the past, this system is no longer biased based on gender, allowing daughters of the kings to also become rulers (this option was implemented through the Drakovian Pragmatic Sanction which allowed Queen Catalina to rule during the last two decades of the 1800s). This type of succession ensures the stability of the country, with the heir being prepared for their future role from childhood. However, it does discriminate against the illegitimate children of the king, which is why Juliana Georgescu eventually proposes the draft of the Drakovian Act for Heir Equity.
10. Is the dynasty old? Or new? How does this affect how they operate?
Vlad belongs to the House of Drăculești, which traces its origins back to Vlad’s father, Vlad II Dracul (Dragon). While the family is part of the House of Basarab, the Basarabs eventually split into two separate lines, with the other line being the House of Dănești. These two lines have been in constant competition for the throne since the late 14th century. The Basarabs are a ruling family of Cuman origin, and they established Wallachia as a state in the early 14th century under the leadership of Basarab I (hence the name of the royal house). At the time of Vlad’s first rule in 1448, the country (and the royal house) is still relatively young, being only 138 years old. The relative youth of the House of Basarab itself does not cause problems in the functioning of the state. However, the split of the royal house into two lines certainly contributes to the instability in the region.
Trystan belongs to the House of Tornović which first began to rule Drakovia in the 18th century. Prior to Drakovia becoming a Socialist republic in the 1940s, the royal family was renowned for being enlightened rulers who promoted education and art. However, due to the volatile and turbulent political landscape of the Balkans, the Tornovićs often had to govern with an iron fist, making them rather authoritarian, almost despotic. After the fall of the Communist regime, the descendants of the House of Tornović return from exile to a country that becomes instantly engulfed in a bloody civil war that ultimately leads to the restoration of the kingdom at a high cost. However, due to the volatile nature of regional politics and the transformation of Drakovian society, the country merely undergoes a different kind of dictatorship under the rule of King Maksim, Trystan’s father.
17. Does your OC dislike living in the public eye? Or do they believe it's part of the job?
Growing up in the family of the Great Pretender and later moving to the Royal Court in Târgovişte, Vlad is accustomed to being in the public eye. He sees it as a small price to pay for being a Drăculea, and it is an aspect of his life that he does not have a personal preference for but rather sees as a constant presence. He can manage it as long as he can find a way to maintain some privacy for his family and for an environment where he can simply be a regular person for a while. However, when he becomes a prisoner at the Hungarian court, he strongly dislikes being constantly observed by the public, primarily due to the constant humiliation that comes with it. He begins to prefer the solace of privacy, being surrounded only by family or using it for quiet contemplation.
Trystan not only enjoys living in the public eye, he thrives in it. Whether he is publicly praised as an enigmatic heir to the throne or closely followed as a scandalous rebel in exile, he relishes the attention at all times. His perspective on public life does not solely derive from being born into the most closely observed family in the kingdom, it also arises from his personality and his somewhat eccentric soul. However, this perspective shifts with age as he develops a greater appreciation for tranquil environments and a desire for privacy.
31. Your OC has been the target of some bad press. What do they do to straighten out the story?
It is a historical fact that Vlad's reputation has been tarnished by a series of pamphlets aimed at ruining his image, so much so that this negative perception of him persists to this day. During his imprisonment by Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus, Vlad had no opportunity to correct the narrative or defend himself against the slanderous accusations and, as a result, his bad reputation has continued to follow him without anyone giving him the chance to make his voice be heard. After his release and his third time becoming the voivode, Vlad is too disillusioned and bitter to even think about actively addressing his tarnished reputation. He only cares about being understood by his family and closest associates.
Trystan firmly believes in the motto that “any press is good press”, so he isn’t easily offended by negative publicity. He is accustomed to appearing on magazine covers due to his supposedly scandalous behaviour and enjoys being seen as a provocative rebel. However, if the bad press includes something too sensitive, he would go to great lengths to restore his reputation. For instance, there is a lingering cloud of suspicion surrounding his involvement in Juliana Georgescu’s death, and the desire to uncover the truth (and potentially clear his name) continues to haunt him for years. Eventually, we know that the Detective helps him uncover what truly happened on that fateful night.

The main attraction and the absolute symbol of Iași, the Palace of Culture represents an emblematic museum of Romania and the headquarters of the National Museum Complex of Moldavia.
The monumental edifice imposes through its height (the 55m tower), surface (268 rooms with a total surface of 35.000 m2) and its privileged position on a promontory of the “Golden Plateau”, the terrace from above the Bahlui river which offers the best visibility.
The current shape of the building is the result of the remake, between 1906 and 1925, of the former residence of Moldavia’s Princes, situated inside the old Princely Court of Iași. The Court was initially erected during the reign of Alexander the Good towards 1400, and documented in 1434. This is where the capital of Moldavia was moved in 1564, during the time of Voivode Alexandru Lăpușneanu, followed by a long consolidation process. On the 27th of May 1600, in the same place, Michael the Brave proclaimed himself “Prince of Wallachia and Transylvania and Moldavia”, a title that no other voivode has had before. The Iași Union of Romanian Principalities for almost a year, later strengthened the ideals of union of Romanians everywhere.
During the first centuries of existence, the Princely Court looked like a fortress, with defence walls, bastions and entrance tower, but the fortifications were removed at the order of the Ottoman Empire. A remodeling takes place under the reign of Vasile Lupu (1634-1653). After some fires and the devastating earthquake in 1802 (7.9 Richter), which destroyed a big part of the constructions, the Prince of Moldavia Alexandru Moruzi builds an imposing Princely Palace (1806-1812) designed by the architect Johan Freywald, similar to Viennese palaces. It is said that it had 365 rooms, one for each day of the year. After a fire, between 1841-1843, Prince Mihail Sturdza ordered the reconstruction of the edifice under the name “The Palace of Reign”. After the 1848 Revolution, Iași was the cradle of Romanian intellectuals’ effort of accomplishing the ideal of Union: “Hey, Wallachian, hey, neighbour, come join me” (“Hora Unirii”, Vasile Alecsandri, 1856). In the Hall of the Elective Assembly in the Palace (situated then above the entrance hallway) the election of Alexandru Ioan Cuza as Prince of Moldavia was confirmed on the January 5th 1859 and the mission of accomplishing the Union was given to him. Cuza’s investiture firman was read here on the 21st of September 1859 by the Turkish colonel Samih-bei. After the decision of moving the capital to Bucharest (1862), the building loses a part of its roles and after the 1880 fire, the palace receives a Neoclassical aspect of French inspiration. In 1883, in front of the Palace, the equestrian statue of Voivode Stephen the Great was erected, with bas-reliefs representing the battle of Moldavia with Poland and with the Ottoman Empire, work of the French sculptor Emmanuel Fremiet. The promise of King Charles I to offer Iasi a true symbol led to the redesign of the edifice in 1906 by the architect Ion D. Berindei, in a Flamboyant Neogothic architectural style, changing its destination into a Palace of Justice and Administration. The inauguration took place on the 11th of October 1925, in the presence of King Ferdinand I and Queen Mary. During the Second World War, it served as barracks of German and then Russian troops and field hospital. Begining with 1955, the edifice received the name “Palace of Culture”, hosting the Museum of History of Moldavia and the Museum Complex.
The building reflects the spirit of ducal palaces in Western Europe, with triumphal hallways decorated with pavement mosaics, very large halls and a rich wall heraldic decoration. In the arrangement of some rooms, ultramodern technologies were used (ventilation system, lighting, vacuum cleaner, clocks synchronized with the one in the tower, etc.) or, as a first, the usage of bois-ciment (“wood-cement”), a decorative material from a mixture of cement and resin, boiled in oil, imitating oak wood, invention of the famous engineer Henri Coandă.
The Palace of Culture shelters four museums of national importance: The Museum of History of Moldavia, The Museum of Art, The Ethnographic Museum and The “Stefan Procopiu” Museum of Science and Technique.
The Union Route proposes an incursion in the Museum of History of Moldavia (left wing, ground floor) which approaches the evolution of the Iași Princely Court, the Iași society in 1900 and its role as Palace of Justice during the interwar period. The testimony of the existence of the Princely Court is present in the medieval foundations visible through glass floors or in the exhibits which approach the evolution of military organization of the capital of Moldavia. The society of Iasi of the 19th century is illustrated through fashionable activities – theatre, photography and sports bets. The role of Palace of Justice is present in the typical Court room or in the former Jury Court in the Henri Coandă Hall. The most impressive room in the Palace is the Voivodes Hall (first floor), a festivity hall with a Gothic arch ceiling, with the portrait gallery of the rulers of Moldavia’s lands, from Decebal to Charles II (Carol II), on a Prussian blue background, and with a superb fireplace symbolically decorated with the genealogic tree of Moldavia’s rulers. The clock tower has the carillon horologe – a drum with pins which operates eight bells. These bells play “Hora Unirii” (composed by the Iasi composer of German origins Alexander Flechtenmacher) at each precise hour, symbol of the essential role that Iași had in the birth of modern Romania.  Fifteen minutes before the precise hour, tours are organised in the palace’s attic and tower in order to observe the clock’s mechanism, to experience the vibration of the bells and to admire the superb view over the Old Centre of the city.
The Princely Court ruins (still in arrangement), the effigy of the Rosetti family, from the current Roznovanu Palace and the two cannons (trophies from the Independence War in 1877) harmoniously complete the Palace Square.

List of events happening in the 15th, 16th and 17th century. The story behind these events is not complete, some are well summarized. The (N) at the end of names serves to indicate character births, and the numbers is their ages. These events also include events about my OCs.
This time-line will be edited as I add other events.
(Note: A few of these characters have significant changes from their original self, since this is an original universe. A example is Sinister, who here is known as Lady Sinister)

• At this time, Etana of Okkara came to meet her friend Apocalypse, and was disappointed to see the state of the outside world, with white men enslaving black men and burning those they considered "cursed".
• Santiago, upon finding out about the "Promised Day", which according to Etana would be the day when the Enriched would take Earth back for themselves, questioned the two ancient mutants why they did not postpone their arrival.
• Apocalypse said that the mutants were still too weak to take over the planet and he should finish judging them before starting a war with the humans.
• Santiago became frustrated with the wait and began following his own followers in secret from Etana and Apocalypse, beginning to form his Black Inner Circle, with Deianeira becoming the First Pillar.
1660 -
• The Royal Society is founded on November 28, in London.
1665 -
• September 21 - Selene Essex, later known as Lady Sinister, is born. (N)
1666 -
• June 6 - The witch Agatha Harkness, daughter of Evanora Harkness, is born. (N)
1677 –
• Princess Delilah of the Kingdom of Khado is born, a descendant of Queen Milena. OC (N)
1679 -
• As a child, Selene Essex was interested in science. A curious child, she enjoyed learning and asking questions, becoming very intelligent and resourceful, which her parents found "adorable".
• As she grew older, they began to be bothered by her growing intellect and attitude.
• One day Selene (14) was watching people in Greenwich Park, marveling at the way they followed what she believed were pre-established paths.
• Her fascination with predicting the course of things made her want to be a scientist, however, being a woman, her family quickly curtailed her ambitions and forced her to focus on things more "ladylike".
• Selene then pretended to fulfill her parents' requests, becoming a delicate and elegant young woman, but secretly she continued her quest for knowledge.
1680 -
• Selene Essex (25) marries Nathaniel Milbury, a widowed man who had just lost his wife and lived with his son Adam. The two three move into Milbury House, Nathaniel's family home.
• Unfortunately for Selene, while her husband left home and met English high society, she was confined to the Manor and her wifely duties.
1681 -
• A few months after her marriage, Selene gives birth to her first son Peter.
1682 -
• February - The Salem witch trials begin.
• Selene Essex (27) gives birth to her second son, Thomas. While her husband was happy with his family, Selene felt trapped in the role of good mother, having to spend so much time taking care of Adam, Thomas and Peter.
• Secretly, she deepened her studies and discovered the existence of mutants and a long-lost city, Okkara, the ancient mutant nation.
1690 -
• At some point in her youth, Agatha Harkness (27) was trained by her mother, Evanora, to be a witch. However, as her skills evolved, she became interested in dark magic.
1693 -
• March 17 – (The trial of Agatha Harkness)
• Upon being discovered, Agatha Harkness (26) was taken to Salem by her own coven and accused of treason by her mother. She insisted that she had not broken any rules and that they had merely bowed to her power.
• Deciding her fate, the witches of the Coven use a spell to drain his life force. Agatha begged her mother to teach her how to control her magic.
• When ignored, she used her dark magic and reversed the spell, taking the sisters' lives to herself.
• She told her mother she could be good, but Evanora disagreed, so Agatha killed her.
1694 -
• April 16 - After her son Peter passed away at the age of four due to various birth defects Selene Essex (28) was devastated and began looking for a way to bring him back, throwing herself back into her research.
• October 21 - Obsessed with Darwin's theory of evolution, Selene (29) wanted to go beyond it, believing that men of science were bound by many moral restrictions.
• Her work increased tension between her and her husband, who began to believe she was mad, but Selene insisted that she could change things and bring their son back.
• Still suspicious, Nathaniel, also a scientist and member of the Royal Society, after seeing her research, agreed to take her to the Royal Society headquarters so that Selene could give a talk.
• November 4th - Despite the humiliations she suffered when setting foot on stage, Selene Essex stood her ground.
• Selene stated that humanity contained the potential to evolve immensely quickly, due to what she called the “Essex Factors”, predicting the emergence of mutants as an evolutionary advance.
• This was followed by the disclosure of one of her unscrupulous experiments, which resulted in her and her husband's humiliating expulsion from the Royal Society.
• Upon leaving angrily, Selene and Nathaniel fought and the woman stated that if becoming a monster was what was necessary for the advancement of science, then she would do it.
• People already thought she was mad, so she would act like it.
• November 16 - Selene met and bribed Cootie Tremble and her Marauders to collect all kinds of deformed people from the streets of London to be victims of her experiments.
1695 -
• February 18 - A few months later, Nathaniel Milbury found out about his wife's plans and freed all of his captives.
• Fearing for his other children, Adam and Thomas, he sent Selene to a psychiatric institution, where she was treated as dangerous and unstable and kept drugged for the next few months, until one day, she was found by Elsa Santiago (209), who freed her.
• Santiago took her away from London and helped her heal. When Selene was in good health, Santiago told her that he found out about her research and revealed about the existence of mutants or the Enriched.
• Fascinated by this new discovery, Selene joined Santiago's Inner Circle, leaving her husband and children behind to continue her research.
1697 -
• (Apocalypse is sealed)
• May 22 - After traveling the world for two years alongside Santiago, Selene Essex (31) was finally taken to Egypt, where Santiago showed her Apocalypse's throne.
• The ancient mutant said that he and another ally (Etana of Okkara) had heard about her work and were interested, showing her the extent of her abilities and asked for her help in creating and unleashing a deadly plague on the planet to fulfill his mission .
• June 7 - Later, Santiago (211) told Selene that despite having sworn eternal loyalty to Apocalypse, she no longer agreed with his plans and asked for her help to free herself from the Akkaba Clan's mark, which kept her tied to your oath.
• Selene, knowing what it was like to be trapped, went to the temple of the Enriched in Okkara to look for a way to free Santiago.
• June 11 - She eventually found the "spell" Queen Damaris of Okkara created, a tattoo that kept her servants loyal to her or anyone who "controlled" the mark, causing intense pain to those who disobeyed.
• Thanks to Etana, who had created another mark that served as a "counterspell", Selene returned to Santiago and freed her.
• As thanks, Santiago gave her some of his blood, as he did with all the members of his Inner Circle, giving Selene immortality and transforming her into a pale creature with red eyes.
• As thanks, Santiago gave her some of his blood, as he did with all the members of his Inner Circle, giving Selene immortality and transforming her into a pale creature with red eyes.
• July 15 - Upon discovering their betrayal, Apocalypse confronted them both. Before he could kill her, he was stopped by the princess of the Kingdom of Khado, Delilah (20), who faced him in battle.
• Wanting to keep peace between humans and mutants, Delilah decided to seal Apocalypse.
• Watching this, Selene knew that none of them were a match for Apocalypse, but decided that the man was a madman and that their goals were not compatible.
• She then used the plague she had created to infect Apocalypse, giving Delilah the chance to seal his body in a tomb beneath the Sphinx that once belonged to Rama-Tut.
• When questioned by Delilah and Santiago, Selene stated that purposeless cruelty was ignorance, and ignorance was the greatest enemy of science.
• The princess of Khado thanked Selene and Santiago for their help and allowed the two to leave the tomb alive, but that they should keep what happened there and the Kingdom of Khado a secret. Both of them, of course, lied about their loyalty.
• December 31- Upon returning to Milbury House, Selene discovered that Adam and Thomas had also died and her husband was sinking into depression. She tried to dig up her children's bodies in a desperate attempt to bring them back, but Nathaniel said it was futile and called her crazy.
• Upon seeing her "sinister" appearance, Nathaniel declared her a cruel person, shooting himself in the head.
• Seeing her husband's body, Selene found herself overcome with strong apathy and decided to adopt the name "Sinister", as her husband had said and allowed any humanity she had to be erased.

She was twenty when she laid eyes on him. Her father’s family had thrown a ball in honor of her visit, and it was an open invitation. She met with nobles from England, France, Ireland, and Scotland, as her family had ties to all of them, but none impressed her. She’d resigned herself to simply observing the party when an exceedingly tall and distinctly foreign-looking man approached her. He was pale, with beautiful blue eyes and long black hair, wearing a black suit and red cravat, with a red overcoat. His voice was deep and smooth, and his accent was thick. When he spoke to her, his tone was soft and he was humble, as if he knew he was undeserving of her presence. He got down on one knee and bowed, then asked her if he might have the honor of a dance. She had smiled and told him to rise, then offered her hand, granting his request. He took it and brought it to his lips, before leading her to the center of the room. They danced for the rest of the night, talking between breaks in the music and song changes.
They married after a month of courting. Her family was delighted and relieved, though he was not who they imagined for a son-in-law. She was happy, happier than she had ever been, and it showed. He was devoted and worshipped her like she was a queen, or a goddess. They spent their newlywed years in his castle in Romania, but visited her family in Paris with frequency. They were exceedingly happy, and even though the castle was far too big for two people, it felt like home.
He told her the truth a month into their marriage. She had always suspected, always known something was different about him, but to hear it said aloud was something else entirely.
“So, you are a vampire.” she said, standing next to her boudoir, looking at him as he sat on the edge of their bed.
“Yes, I am.” Vlad affirmed, then bowed his head, avoiding her gaze. “I am sorry I did not tell you before, and that if it were not for the guilt, I would never have told you.” he admitted.
Rose tapped her fingers on the furniture’s surface, then shrugged. “So what?”
“I beg your pardon?” Vlad raised his head, looking at her in bewilderment.
“So what if you are a vampire? Why should that matter?”
“I… I feed on the blood of humans to survive. I am a creature of the night, an abomination of nature. A product of a deal with the Devil.”
Rose shrugged again, arms now folded. “So what?” she asked again, walking towards him. “So what if you drink the blood of humans? So what if you are a creature of the night? So what if you are an abomination of nature? So what if you are a product of a deal with the Devil?”
Vlad blinked at her. “You…. You do not care?”
“Of course I don't care.” Rose replied, now only a few inches away from him. She took his hands and offered a small smile. “You're my husband, and I love you.” she leaned down and kissed his cheek, thumbs stroking the tops of his hands. “Besides, do you really think I would've married you without even considering the possibility that you weren't quite normal?”
“You knew? All this time, you knew?”
“I had my suspicions. And there were… incidents, shall we say.”
Vlad winced. He knew what she was talking about. “I am sorry for those. I never meant for you to see.”
“Don’t be. The world's not going to end if I don't wear silver.” Rose assured. She studied his face for a moment, trying to see if there was something in his features, a telltale sign of vampirism, that she had missed all the others times she'd looked at him. “Vlad, let me see your eyes.”
“You are seeing them.”
Rose rolled her own at that remark. “Let me see your real eyes. I know they have not been naturally blue for a long time.” She took a seat sideways in his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck, waiting patiently to see if he would oblige.
Vlad closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, then squared his shoulders and exhaled slowly. When he opened his eyes, they were a startling shade of red. “There.”
Rose stared at the color in awe, a delighted grin on her lips. “How beautiful.” she murmured, her hands moving to cup his face. Thumbs brushed the top of his upper lip, and she laughed softly when his tongue flicked out and licked the digit.
“Beautiful?” Vlad repeated, withdrawing his tongue. “I stand before you, a monster, a creature of the night, and yet…”
“And yet I want to be like you.” Rose smiled, lowering her hands to his shoulders. “Will you change me?”
“Absolutely not.” Vlad straightened up, bristling at the mere thought.
“Aw, why not?” Rose pouted, looking a bit like a child who had been told they couldn't have the toy or treat they wanted.
“Because it's a curse, Rose.” Vlad sighed, rubbing her back.
Rose ran her fingers through his long hair, affection in her eyes as she gazed at him. “My love, you are worth any curse. You are worth any sin. You are worth a ‘deal with the Devil’. You are worth it all.” she smiled, pausing the movement of her hand. “You are my life, Vlad, and I will follow you anywhere.”
“Even into the deepest, darkest pits of Hell? To the end of the Earth? Into battle?” Vlad asked, his hand cupping her neck.
“Yes.” Rose answered, placing her hand over the one he had on her neck. “You can pose as many scenarios as you like, but my answer will always be the same.”
