TTB Expands Red Hills Lake AVA
The TTB formally expanded the Red Hills Lake County AVA in California.
The AVA was expanded by 679 acres and is effective as of March 6th, 2024.
The release stated, “the established AVA and the expansion area are both located in Lake County, California, and both are also within the larger Clear Lake and North Coast AVAs.”
The Red Hills Lake County AVA was originally established in 2004.

First Dates (Luke, Marius, Artem, Vyn)

Luke
Luke’s style seems to gravitate towards stuff like them park dates and county fair dates, so that’s what he does for your first
He picks you up early on a Saturday morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. You're almost annoyed because no one should be so perky before 10 am in the morning. And he doesn’t need coffee rude
The two of you stop for a quick breakfast before descending on the theme park
After that you run through the usual culprits: twirly rides, house of mirrors, a couple roller coasters (before lunch, not after), pretending to be scared at the haunted house rides
he shows off his aim at some of the game booths winning you exactly what you want
You even manage to convince him to do face painting with you
In all honesty, it feels like being kids again. Except kids don’t hold hands and find secluded areas to make out
In the evening you find a nice little hill--scratch that, the two of you are definitely sitting next to each other on the Farris wheel while you watch the fireworks
Marius
A date with Marius is upscale. You definitely need a fancy dress which he has no problems paying for
It comes in two parts
First he takes you to an art gallery. One he totally rented out for the night
You’re more than happy to watch him smile and talk about his art. He always lights up and sometimes loses that mask of the rich little shit and it is a treat
You spend several hours there, but he’s mindful of your comfort. Heels are a bitch to walk in for long periods of time.
When you’re ready to leave, Marius takes you to a super fancy restaurant. You went a little pale when you saw where you were going, then reminded you that Marius has the money to volunteer to give you ridiculously expensive dogs. A private reservation overlooking a quiet park is no biggie for Mr. Acting President von Hagen.
All in all, it’s very nice. You can’t get out of being the object of his teasing and no matter how fancy the joint, he still gets full named.
Artem
A first date with Artem is classic. Dinner and a movie.
The two of you ended up going back and forth about who picked the movie and diner, eventually settling on you picking the movie while he picked the diner.
You did your research and picked something that would appeal to both of you. A reshowing of a timeless chick flick: The Titanic (Is the Titanic a classic in 2030?)
Artem makes sure he has plenty of tissues he knows you’re prone to crying at the end
Afterwards, you two have an in depth debate over whether Jack and Rose would have both fit on the door. He tells you that if that ever happens, he’ll make sure both of you survive.
For diner Artem takes you to a nice Mom-and-Pop restaurant. It turns out he’s been going there since he was a kid and the proprietors are really happy to see that “Artie finally found himself a nice girl. It’s about time.”
Despite their gentle teasing, the food there really is some of the best you’ve ever had
Of course, Artem drives you home himself and walks you to the door
Vyn
And last, but never least Vyn “here are my red flags” Richter
On the scale of fancy to classic to casual, Vyn ends up bringing you on a date that rates somewhere between fancy and classic. It’s classy, it’s upscale, but it’s not oozing “I run a conglomerate” either
He takes you to see a ballet or an Opera. Swan lake, maybe, Something refined, much like your date
Of course, you have very good seats. Vyn wouldn’t have anything else.
After the show, you go to a quiet, but upscale restaurant. It’s one well known for it’s wine, which the guy is an absolute stickler for.
Vyn is a complete gentleman the entire time. Really, he always is. Treating you with nothing but the utmost respect, despite his concerning manipulative tendencies and you enjoy seeing a glimpse of what Vyn is like when you’re not calling him Dr. Richter.

Three songs for The Silver Chronicles, Life, Despair & Monsters and an Original Work of minet. Also I'm putting my WIP Wednesdays on hold, as I'm working on my newest "Intro Post" and some Masterlists. Anyway, listen and read below the cut:
Silva and Azriel's mother-daughter relationship in Silva's Hope is one of the key turning points of the fic (the underlying themes of motherhood not withstanding); it causes Silva to reevaluate her standing with both Eden's Gate and the Resistance in Hope County and motivates her to take a much more proactive rogue approach, seeking to push both factions towards a peace without spilling anymore bloodshed as there had already been (before she was just trying taking out her grief, pain and her bottled up trauma onto the cult that was similar to the two that took everything from her, and hoping to get killed in the process, a roundabout way to end her own suffering without dishonoring/abandoning the sacrifices made to get her to safety). It also gives her the chance to acknowledge and accept the death of her daughter Persephone; something she's been guilt-ridden about throughout her grief, never allowing her to make peace with it. Silva's upbringing was shaky, her childhood spent with a man who's intentions towards her were anything but pure, and her adolescence spent with the father she wished she had before things went to hell. Silva sees herself in Azriel; a girl harmed by the zealotry of a cult and denied the affection she needed and craved for until later in her life. Silva hopes to be the mother Azriel can rely on, as well as a fiercer protector. This song is both a mix of Azriel and Silva's perspective (in a way), though it's also Silva echoing promises Paul had told her (when he was a better person) but directed to Azriel this time:

Next song is for an Original WIP of mine called Mario: Mother's Boy, a kind of origin story for one of my OCs from The UnTitledverse, Mario Emmet, a quippy shapeshifting alien that feeds on fear, and his time being raised by his mother, Abigail Emmet, who had spent nearly a century prior masquerading as a human outlaw with the Van Der Linde Gang (and feeding off the terror of her enemies). The fic starts from 1979 and ends in 1988, ending a few months Mario's other story, The Adventures of Debra Holmes and her Amazing Best Friend Mario Emmet, in The UnTitledverse. Throughout the fic, Abigail struggles with raising her very impulsively instinctively driven son, helping him masquerade as a human while teaching him human morals and culture (while retaining some of their better alien traditions that doesn't call for the disregard of other's health), going out on hunts to feed both herself and Mario (all the while terror becomes a harder emotion to elicit from her prey, though thankfully fear isn't difficult for Mario to pry out of his own prey), making decisions that put her son before herself, something that goes against her species very nature, as well as face her own impending mortality as her lifespan shortens. But for Abigail, as long as Mario is prepared to survive in this world without her, then that's enough for her, even if the time they had together was never enough.

Cyberpunk: Corporate Shutdown is a Cyberpunk 2077 fic apart of Life, Despair & Monsters, following Min-Ji "Vasilisa" Choi, codenamed to simply "V" (supposed to be the Roman numeral of "Five"/"Fifth" but in Night City, people are pricks, so that number became a letter), as she navigates through the cesspool that is Night City, the dominion of Arasaka on American soil. She is mentored by both Johnny Silverhand (in her head) and an old companion of his, Rico (who Arasaka had intentions to weaponize him but he managed to escape before they could touch any more organs... though he is fighting off the side effects of Cyberpsychosis due to almost being full-borg, something forced upon him by Arasaka), into the life of a Cyberpunk. They intend to burn down Arasaka and their main enforcer, Adam Smasher, along with it. However, Smasher isn't alone; he has a pet by the name of "Impulse", and it seems Militech want a piece of the action with their newest creation: "Inviticus", so helpfully designed by one Sir Enigma Malvolio.

People’s Flag Wars: Round 1, Bracket 14
See the symbolism below.
The First Light flag is the official flag of Syracuse, New York, designed by Eric Hart.
Symbolism: “Through the use of simple color and shape the First Light flag shares a complex story of our people and personality, our geography and weather, our past and future, and our relationship to our surrounding area.
Six-Pointed Star: Symbolizes the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee, of which the Onondaga Nation plays a central role. It symbolizes the six historical names by which Syracuse has been known: Salt Point, Webster's Landing, Bogardus Corners, Milan, South Salina, and Cossits' Corners (not incl. Corinth). It is the sun, a guiding light. Its central placement on the flag marks Syracuse's central location in New York State.
Mirrored triangles: Symbolizes the hills of Onondaga. The word onoñda'gega' means, "people of the hills" in the Onondaga language. The left triangle is the hill westward toward Hiawatha Lake. The right triangle is the hill eastward toward Thornden Park. The space between the triangles is the Onondaga Valley.
Star set between triangles: Symbolizes the sunrise over the Onondaga Valley.
This is described in a line from Syracuse University's Alma Mater, ". where the vale of Onondaga meets the Eastern sky." Represents a new day, a bright future, and good fortunes ahead.
Orange Star on White: Symbolizes our history of using the sun to pull white salt from our salt springs. It also represents the sun warming us during our cold, white winters.

*Kicks door down* Okay so the reason Arthur needs... has to have a property out Glastonbury way is because it's just absolutely dripping with old folklore in a manner that the Home Counties like Essex or Kent around London just plain aren't. Those are Saxon and Anglo and Norman. He needs to reject Norman every once in a while. He goes North for Cumbrian lakes and West for Somerset wassailing and even more West to sit at the bottom of a Cornish tin mine when those moods take him.
Glastonbury is weird and old and filled with things that just don't make sense at first glance, never mind the music festival next door (which I am sure Arthur attends off his face for the entire time). Half of it is a manufactured neo paganism of course but it only springs up here because of these old stories. And I think it makes Arthur all the stronger for it.
And it's Celtic, not Norman, not German, not even Roman... it's like the core part of Arthur from when he was a baby. It's his connection to his mother and his siblings. If he ever feels truly like a black sheep, all he needs do is return here and remember. Like even Bath, as wonderful and beautiful and important as it is - is still Roman.
Okay, just to rattle of odd things about the town and why I think it's kind of important when thinking and conceiving of Arthur as a character. It's a microcosm of his history and culture and what's been done to him.
So.
Glastonbury is built at the foot of a hill. The hill stands out like a sore thumb from the surrounding area as everything else is flat. The church fell during an earthquake in the 1200s (we just... don't have earthquakes strong enough to do that) but we kept the tower. A hollow beacon.
Glastonbury has several iron age lake villages nearby and the Somerset Levels were once upon a time underwater and so all you had was the Tor, poking out as an island amongst the fens, something it does even now in the fog:
And it was the Normans who drained it and made the island join the mainland but that island is probably possibly potentially where King Arthur is buried. We think. Obviously this is contentious.🤭
So it's maybe. Probably. Most likely. Avalon itself. Isle of Apples. England's national fruit. Glastonbury has the apple festival plus the orchards in the parish and considering it was after all an island once...
Glastonbury Abbey, long before it was a ruin, argued they had his bones. Arthur's. The reformation lost them and the abbot was hung drawn and quartered by Henry VIII. How convenient. Glastonbury Abbey by some counts pre-dates the Roman attempts to enforce Christianity. So it's old as heck. Older than any Anglo-Saxon invader.
It had an English Hawthorn (aka - I shit you not - a Mayflower [cough cough Alfred cough]) tree that bloomed twice a year in the dead of winter and no-one could understand why (stories about the holy grail feature and pop up in other places in Glastonbury). Parliamentarians burned it during the Civil War (Godless and pagan as it was and as spiteful and superstitious as they were) but they used to take cuttings from the tree to send to the Royal Family each Christmas because of its winter flowers. Other cuttings were made and descendants of the tree survive in other places. There's a butt ton of folklore for Hawthorns which I don't have time for but essentially they're fairy houses and borders and don't bring the flowers into your house or you will die. It smells of rotting animals but tastes of bread and cheese. It's a fucked up plant essentially. And it had pretty flowers that we wear on May Day celebrations. Dichotomy. That's... that's Arthur.
And then there's the springs. The Chalice Well and the White Spring. One runs red. One runs white (no it runs clear but it does have chalk in it). They pop out literally across the road from each other despite having completely different sources. They've never dried up in 2,000 years.
One is blood (the Holy Grail returns) and one is milk (I think it's supposed to be the goddess Brighid's milk but I may be misremembering - it's someone's breast milk) so the spring's path and pools runs the most fantastic iron red and clear...
So. Not to be like... insane. But Arthur needs to have a home here. He needs to be able to come back to a place which is his connection with his mother that isn't just the standing stones and tombs of Avebury and Stonehenge and West Kennet. A place which is alive and lived in and used.
A place where the Romans couldn't touch it where the Saxons fought battles to get it where the Normans changed the landscape beyond recognition where Henry VIII sold it and hung drawn and quartered it where the Parliamentarians purged it where his namesake rests. A place where he can drink milk and blood (ooft that's a bit metal eh) and remember. It's a big bundle of changes and trauma and yet it remains all his.
And then he takes too much acid and kind of looses it during the music festival and comes back to five days later with two STIs and desperately needing a bath. #WorthIt
Look at this nonsense. You just know Arthur is passed out in a hedge after listening to something like Marina Diamandis' Savages on stage and having an panic attack of how close it hits home.

Granddad had a country store,
He ran part-time before the war,
A red Coke cooler by the door,
And a pair of rocking chairs.
Sardis Church was up the hill,
Five miles west of Cochran Mill;
Town was three miles farther still.
It was the middle of nowhere.
The family farmhouse stood out back,
It started as a shotgun shack;
Nothing fancy but it never lacked,
A seat around the table.
Folks would fish the pasture lake,
And keep whatever they could take,
Pay at the box down by the gate,
As much as they were able.
My father grew up in that yard,
And never knew that times were hard.
He finished school and joined the Guard.
They shipped him off to Nam.
He made it home by the Good Lord’s grace,
Married Mama and built the place,
Where my brother and sister and I were raised.
That made me who I am.
The County paved the road to the ferry.
The State said a bridge would be necessary,
For all the traffic it would carry.
There was nothing we could do.
City folk soon started coming,
Bike and car and truck tires humming;
Houses sprouting by the dozens.
That prophecy came true.
I went to college where I got some learning,
On the value of what I was earning,

The Eight Great Grasslands Of "Hulunbuir" Hidden In Guangdong
Do you know? It turns out that you don't need to go to Inner Mongolia, you can see the big "grassland" in Guangdong. I thought Guangdong only had seaside vacations, but I didn't expect there to be beautiful prairie to check in. Today, I would like to recommend a few grasslands where you can check in and camp in Guangdong. Let's go, let's go to the prairie together. Shaoguan Luokeng Grassland
One of the top ten beautiful campsites in China is undoubtedly the small "Zhangjiajie" in Guangdong. Luokeng Grassland is a grassland surrounding the lake. The large grassland formed after the water level of the Luokeng Reservoir dropped is a small prairie. Here you can see a large starry sky, paddle boards, underground caves, submarines, and bonfire roast sheep. Yangchun Chicken Coop Top Prairie
The chicken coop top prairie of "three cities with one foot" has the largest prairie in the south. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, there are seas of clouds, grasslands and rhododendrons. Xinyi Tianma Mountain Grassland
The Tianma Mountain Prairie, known as Guangdong's "Shangri-La", is undoubtedly "the most beautiful rural tourist area in Guangdong". There is no severe heat in summer, no severe cold in winter, and the four seasons are like spring. Grasslands, forests, canyons, waterfalls, clear springs, and flowing water make this place slowly become a paradise. Fenghuangxia Xunhuang Prairie

Inlaid in various poses and with different expressions in the center of the lake, forming a natural landscape painting. Luoding Bapai Mountain Grassland
The Bapai Mountain Grassland is located in the Bapai Mountain Scenic Area. The Bapai Mountain Scenic Area includes eight unique mountains, so it gets its name. The heavenly top of Bapai Mountain is a natural grassland, which is the Bapai Mountain Prairie. Grasslands, forests, rhododendrons, strange rocks, and clouds complement each other, making it ethereal and beautiful like a fairyland. It's like being in a paradise. Áine (ON-ya) is an Irish Goddess of summer, love, protection, fertility, wealth and sovereignty.
In her role of Moon Goddess, she guards livestock, crops, and cattle.
In her role as Sun Goddess, she could take the form of ‘Lair Derg’, a red mare that no one could outrun, in order to walk among her people.
Also known as a Faery Queen and Love Goddess, she has been known by other names such as the Lady of the Lake, the Goddess of the Earth and Nature, the Goddess of Luck and Magick, and Leanan Sidhe (“Sweetheart of the Sidhe”).
Áine is thought to mean “brightness, glow, joy, radiance, splendour, glory, fame”.
She is associated with Midsummer (Litha, Summer Solstice), however also has sacred days following Lughnasadh.
She is associated with the Sun and Moon, the element Air, the direction South West, and one of the sacred herbs of Druids, Meadowsweet.
Her sacred animals are the red mare, rabbit, and swan.
She is associated with the Irish Province of Munster, specifically County Limerick, where the hill of Knockainy (Cnoc Áine) is found.
Áine is thought to be the daughter of King Eógabail/Eoghanach, a member of the Tuatha Dé Danann and the foster son of the sea god Manannan Mac Lir. However, other legends claim that she was married to Manannan Mac Lir. Other sources state that she is the daughter of the Dagda and sister to Brigid.Áine is thought to be the sister of Aillen and/or Fennen (Finnen/Fenne/Fennel).She is also thought to be the sister of Grian (Grainne), with Áine ruling over the light half of the year and Grian ruling over the dark. However Grian could also be another aspect of Áine.Áine is sometimes mistaken for the Mother Goddess Danu, who is known regionally as Anu.
Áine was also known as a Love Goddess, and people would worship her in the hope that she might bestow sexuality, fertility, abundance and prosperity upon them.Through her many relationships with human men, she is thought that she gave birth to a magical Faerie-Human race, which is how she gained her name as Queen of the Faeries.One of the myths surrounding Áine describes how she sat in her birthing chair on Lughnasadh and gave birth to a sheave of grain. It is believed that by performing that act, Áine gave the gift of grain to the people of Ireland.
Many stories exist regarding Áine and her mortal lovers. It is said that Gerald, Earl of Desmond, once stole Áine’s cloak while she swam in a river, and would not return it to her until she agreed to marry him.Their son was Geroid Iarla, known as The Magician. Áine made a deal with the Earl that he would never be surprised by anything her son did, however after performing a superhuman deed, the Earl was surprised, and Áine was free to return to the fairies (sidhe).In other stories, Áine is the unwilling wife of Geroid Iarla, and ends up turning him into a goose or killing him (or both).Another myth describes how Áine was raped by the King of Munster, Ailill Aulom, which led to Áine biting off his ear. By biting off his ear, Áine deemed Ailill unfit to be king due to his disfigurement.From all her aspects it is shown that Áine was not a deity to offend, if crossed she could have coined the phrase “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”.
