Riverside Grove (residential, 30x20)
It's the Sigworths' house in StrangerVille! I've uploaded this to the gallery if anyone would like it you can find it at origin id: worriedheart
I'm pretty happy with the basic house, the interior layout is a bit dodgy though. You might get some bonus lovely photos taken by Jess Sigworth I was too lazy to remove though. That's if they can be shared on the gallery, never tried before.

Riverside Grove Rebuild
Tumblr media
LOT: Riverside Grove (30x20), Strangerville Plaza, Strangerville LOT TYPE: Residential COST: § 96,849 KEY FEATURES: 2 bedrooms | 2.5 bathrooms | Open-plan kitchen/dining/living space | Home gym | Home office | Cat care area NOTES:
The exterior of this house was based on a deco building which came with the Strangerville pack. Like the Grunts’ house which I built earlier , all these shotgun/double-gallery houses are meant to be part of a military housing complex.
For the interior of this house, I tried to do a uniform but still cosy style which is halfway between what the Grunts’ house and the Smiths’ house look like.
There are also lots of floral motifs in the decor to allude to the infection by The Mother Plant.
More pics of their individual bedrooms here: Jess and Dylan, Christie.

The Journey Continues III
[ previous journal summary ]
• After our last rest, we resumed our investigation in the Shattered Sanctum, all the way through we found our teddy bear druid Halsin in the Worg Pens.
• We acquired a lot of information from Halsin, how to get to the Moonrise Towers, whether to take another route, or go underground, and finally whether to fight off some leaders and save the grove. Options galore xD
• We ignored Minthara and the pleasure torture guy this time around. We've got no room for those scheming buds.
• Saved Volo from the persistent goblin crowd.
• Back at camp while having a short rest, Astarion got sentimental, something about me being "his first" [ long pause ] delicious meal. Ok well, fair enough. You can have another "meal" sometime soon xD
• Returning to the Riverside Teahouse intending to take on the Hag, of course, we are inclined to get distracted and bump into a ton of other fantastic surprises. One of them being a group of explosive frogs. What a blast! They seemed so cute at first sight, tho... :*
• Ah, and the moment we turned around to get another chance at entering the teahouse, a lovely monster-hunter Gandrel was scouting the area for a certain "Astarion". Naturally, we knew of nothing :]
• When we were at last inside the Hag's dungeon for the umpteenth time, and almost entered through the tree illusion, Gale got another magic withdrawal symptom, so, we returned to camp AGAIN.
• At camp, however, Gale invited me to join his magic dance moment, I enjoyed sharing this experience with him. It was a blessed and pleasant one.
• Before taking the opportunity to travel back to the Hag's dungeon, we first took another look at the Blighted Village. Thanks to a tip from a friend @lilypixels, we found an underground secret lab. A mirror like the one in Snow-white, and a screaming book that looks like it's frozen in mortification.
• Blessed with these newfound discoveries, we felt confident enough to face the Hag, and save Mayrina as well. She is a bit of a... naïve one, but, with a heart in the good place. It was worth the fight. And freeing the other bewitched victims, no less.
• Bringing Mayrina's husband back to life... not sure whether that was the best idea but... who knows what options Baldur's Gate will bring her.
• We realized that we needed to have another look in the Shattered Sanctum considering some mind flayer issues, so that will be our next stop. After letting out a sigh of relief from having left the stinky swamp behind.

writing patterns tag game
Rules: list the first line(s) of your last 10 posted fics and see if there's a pattern!
I was tagged by @omgkalyppso! tysm :) (I don't have like, 10 posted fics without scrolling through like years of my blog sjdkhfkdsjfskj. But I have 9!)
1 . Somewhere Between (A Hangman's Knot and Three Mouths to Feed) -- [Link]
The joyous din of the party was distant as Wyll sat by the riverside.
2 . Alchemy -- [Link]
“I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t care about you, Asha,”
3 . Curious -- [Link]
For a Druid, Majexatli seemed remarkably uncomfortable at the Emerald Grove.
4 . Druidic Echoes -- [Link]
The gentle breeze brought the smell of wildflowers and grass, the sun warming Majexatli’s skin as they walked through the clearing.
5 . Hunger -- [Can't find the link, I wonder if it got deleted accidentally 😭. I might have to repost it]
Majexatli wondered, sometimes, what drew them to the hunt.
6 . The Poor Thing In The Road -- [Link]
Returning from camp after dealing with the gnolls and the fire at Waukeen’s Rest, Majexatli dropped their pack and staff at their tent and immediately went off into the trees without looking back.
7 . Mirror -- [Link]
Majexatli always set up their tent a little farther away from the center of camp than the others, something Halsin did as well.
8 . Sleep -- [Link]
The abandoned house by camp wasn’t what most would call romantic, but compared to the hells or a bedroll in the wilderness, it felt like a mansion.
9 . Home -- [Link]
Home was never far from Sanrymic’s lips.
I'm in far to weird a brainspace to tag people, but if anyone sees this and wants to do this, consider yourself tagged by me!!

because i think this will help a lot with canon interactions, i'm going to try and outline the more important choices that genesis has made in my playthrough up until where i am currently in the game (obtained all the netherstones, but haven't yet gone looking for the brain).
act one:
genesis frees shadowheart on the mindflayer ship, first and foremost. she also lets astarion drink her blood, and she stops wyll from killing karlach. however, she does let shadowheart kill lae'zel. obviously that doesn't mean i won't write things for gen & lae'zel, but as of now my knowledge of her companion quest is limited.
the first questline she begins exploring is seeking out the druid halsin. when they reach the goblin camp, the first thing genesis does is free volo. then she and the companions rescue halsin, and have him wait in the worg pens while they raze the goblin camp—she poisons the booze tub and frees the spiders. she lures priestess gut into her chambers and slits her throat, then kills minthara next. she tricks her by revealing the grove's location through the parasite, but as minthara turns her back to leave, genesis shoves her off the bridge into the chasm below. with dror ragzlin, the companions climb up the rafters to launch an above ground assault. genesis rips the final goblin leader's head clean off. on their way back to the grove, genesis finds and recruits scratch the dog.
after one of the long rests during the onslaught on the goblin camp, genesis wakes up to shadowheart with a knife pressed to lae'zel's neck. she doesn't step in, mostly because she thinks lae'zel is a strong enough warrior to shake shadowheart off—to no avail. lae'zel dies, and the party moves forward.
in terms of minthara, obviously the game won't allow you to save the grove and recruit halsin if you let minthara live. so, for any threads involving minthara and genesis, i'll say that genesis perhaps saw a bit of herself in minthara, thus showing her mercy. the party non-lethals her before clearing out the rest of the camp. that way, at moonrise, the party is still able to rescue her from the prison, but also, the druids and the tieflings are safe.
at the tiefling party, she spends the first half of the night with shadowheart and halsin. astarion approaches and propositions her, but her response is to be...confused, mostly, so she turns him down, but offers to find some better quality wine for him if he truly has such refined tastes. she takes no one to bed that evening, bouncing between rolan and his siblings, alfira, and zevlor, until she settles down for the night.
the party opts to travel through the old selunite temple to get to the underdark, as the githyanki creche is no longer an option with lae'zel dead. as they're traveling past the blighted village again, however, they spot auntie ethel for the first time in her confrontation with mayrina's brothers. genesis recognizes what she is almost immediately, feeling the putrid pull of the bog as they approach. they begin to explore the swamp, and run into the gur, gandrel. her anger in finding out that her friend is being hunted leads to gen egging astarion on, allowing him to kill gandrel.
they take a short rest, then make their way to the riverside teahouse. ethel reveals her true hag form and disappears further into her lair. gen opts to push forward and save mayrina. after killing ethel and discovering the bargain mayrina had made, she discovers the wand. out of a combination of sheer curiosity, and also slight annoyance at mayrina's foolishness, she gives the wand to mayrina, and watches as she tries to revive her husband. as an outlander who's lived for as long as gen has, she's dealt with hags before—so she does know that mayrina won't be getting her husband back, at least not how she wants. she hands over the wand not as an act of kindness, but as a means of teaching mayrina a lesson and hoping it'll stick.
after their escapades in the swamp, the party finally travels back to the goblin camp to find the entrance to the underdark.

Jess and Dylan Sigworth’s Bedroom
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The family description of the Sigworths states that they are new to Strangerville. Also, my headcanon is that Jess and Dylan are both really busy as Jess has to adjust to her transfer to Strangerville National Base and Dylan has to juggle handling remote university studies with being the primary caregiver for their daughter. So I kept the bedroom looking abit old-fashioned and generic as though the previous occupant had left the house in a hurry with their personal belongings. Jess and Dylan haven’t gotten around to decorating the place yet and are just using whatever the previous occupant left behind.

I'll finish this tonight or tomorrow, not to mention the roofing and the landscaping of the backyard, but... I'm in le tight spot with this living room 👉👈
One-bedroom shotguns are just fine, but this one is a two bedroom one and might need an office space to put the PC. It's a hard one, but I trust in the end our Jess will have the nice home she deserves

4 Niigata Hanami Spots To See Cherry Blossoms
There’s nothing more synonymous with spring in Japan than sakura, and the cherry blossoms you can see at Niigata hanami are no exception. Niigata is a long prefecture, so the cherry blossoms in different areas can bloom at very different times, starting from the south in Joetsu and working up to Niigata City. Unfortunately, it can be hard to determine exactly when the cherry blossoms in different areas will bloom, which is why this post was postponed since they’re blooming later than originally expected this year. However, when they do start to bloom, it’s a wondrous sight to see.
Tumblr media
Takada Castle Site Park
Takada Castle Site Park in Joetsu is by far one of the most popular Niigata hanami spots. The park is lined with cherry blossom trees that are some of the first to bloom since it’s in one of the furthest south cities in Niigata Prefecture. In addition to beautiful views of the castle and its fountain through the cherry blossoms, there is also an abundance of food stands throughout the park. They sell all of the typical staples–karaage, yakisoba, takoyaki, candied fruits–as well as many other interesting treats. And if you can stick around until nighttime, they light up the whole park with lanterns. Even the castle is lit up and, in photos, almost looks like it’s glowing green from the light shining off the grass. This year, only some of the cherry blossoms had bloomed by the weekend we visited, but it was still very pretty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hakusan Park
If you live closer to the north of Niigata Prefecture and it’s too hard to get down to Joetsu, you can also visit Hakusan Park in Niigata City. Next to Hakusan Shrine, Hakusan Park has an entire grove of cherry blossom trees that bloom in the spring. You can set up a blanket under the many flowering trees, look out over the reflective pool, and eat food from nearby stands that are set up for most of the spring season. It’s not as big as Takada Castle Site Park, but there’s still a fair bit of space and a lot of food options. There were even some performances during the weekend when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yasuragitei (Shinano Riverside)
Another option for Niigata hanami in the city is Yasuragitei. Yasuragitei runs along the Shinano riverbank and is lined with cherry blossoms and flowers in the spring. Local students plant tulips along the riverbanks in the fall, and the colorful buds bloom in the spring with the cherry blossoms. It’s a beautiful place for a walk, or you can bring a blanket and find a spot to sit. However, you will have to bring your own food because there aren't any food stands by Yasuragitei, though you can go back again in the summer when the riverside restaurants open up.
Tumblr media
Yahiko Park
If you’re looking for a place closer to Niigata City that still has lots of space, beautiful nature, and a wide variety of food stands, you can also check out Yahiko Park. Generally, Yahiko Park is geared toward fall foliage, so there aren’t too many cherry blossoms around its iconic red bridge. However, most paths are lined with cherry blossom trees, including the main opening to the park just before the Yahiko Park tunnel. Plus, on top of the permanent restaurants, many food trucks and stands set up in the parking lots and along the streets. While there aren’t many cherry blossoms at the top of Yahiko Mountain, you can still see the beautiful view of the town while you’re there and stop by Yahiko Shrine on the way up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are many other beautiful Niigata hanami spots, especially in the rural areas of Niigata, but these are four popular places to go and the ones I’ve had the chance to visit. Of course, anywhere with a few cherry blossom trees and a place to sit can be a great hanami spot. It’s all about the people you're with and the appreciation for the short-lived pink blossoms. So, whatever site you choose for your Niigata hanami will be perfect!

Of Sea, Stars & Jimmy's Surprise~... ( Fic Drabble)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
~
A bit from a fic I've been toying with~
This takes place around the early 2010s~
Jimmy & his young pregnant wife, Yulissa Garcia~
~
'I've got a surprise for you." Jimmy announced as he strode up to Yulissa.
"Yeah?" She giggled, covering her mouth shyly.
"Yeah." He lifted up one of his scarves to her. "Here. Turn around."
Upon following directions, Yulissa found her vision suddenly obscured as Jimmy tied his scarf around her eyes. She felt his hands brace her arms firmly yet gently, nudging her forward as he instructed further. "Follow my lead."
Yulissa was guided down the corridor. She wracked her brain as much as she could but all she could think laid in that direction was a room in the house that had stayed empty but for a few of Jimmy's guitars. And though she felt she might have been mistaken, that seemed to be exactly where he was leading her for some reason. The way he gingerly brought her to a stop in the center of the room made her think some of his guitars indeed were in the room still.
"You ready for your surprise, darling?" Jimmy stunned her by how breathless with excitement he seemed to be.
"As ready as I'll ever be I guess. You certainly seem more than ready yourself."
"I am. You'll see why, love. I can't wait till you see why. And you will... In three... Two... One..." Jimmy carefully removed his scarf from her eyes & announced. "Go on, love. Open your eyes."
When Yulissa opened her eyes, she gasped. She indeed found herself in what she had once playfully termed "Guitar Storage Room #76" rotating the number with whatever number crossed her mind before. But that was not what had instigated her surprise. Instead, it was the room's transition. It had a completely new look. Though a few of the guitars still remained the room had transformed completely.
The walls, once creamy white & plain now were a mix of purples, pinks, oranges, blues and whites. Lush sea and sky scapes. One wall mimicked the early dawn. The next a crystal mid day. The third wall a soft dusky evening. The doorway behind her linked the evening to the morning in a lightening ombre with tiny stars dotting the entryway.
Inside the room against the "early day" wall, was a changing table & dresser set. The wall nearest the dresser held a large pink & peach seashell riding a cresting wave & opening towards the dresser & changing table to reveal a pale lavender white pearl. Jewels rose up from a chest underwater & scattered in the foamy sea water alongside flowers & equally scattered petals. Those were not the only flowers. The shell itself had a rose on one side of the mouth & a poppy on the other. Above the shell flew doves with a pale ribbon held between their beaks as if to hail the treasures below. The combination of the open treasure chest below, the doves & the bright light above all seemed to embrace both the seashell & the dresser & changer in front of it.
The midday wall held the sight of a grove by a lake in full abundance. Apples, oranges, lemons, peaches & grapes ripe for the picking. Baskets of roses all in bloom. Some fruit scattered the grounds along with flowers. All of this bathed in the starburst sky.
The dusky scene held a riverside scene. Something of a timelessness in it. A place in between time. In between places. Elements both of the Thames & the LA River after a good rain lay within. Hers & His. Up in the star dotted sky lay the brightest star, with a halo around it, floating in a sheer almost milky haze. Bringing with it hints of the galaxies above. Heavens. Eternity.
Yulissa was stunned into a tearful silence. The whole piece told a story in a blend of some of their favorite art styles. PreRaphaelitic & Post-Impressionist. With Italianate Renaissance touches to combine the two.
His study had Pre-Raphaelitic & early Victorian art mixed with the psychedelic artefacts of his youth. Her study had Impressionist Sargent & Mexican Muralist Kahlo art with Baroque Reubens touches.
This was the blending of the two. An expansion of the blending of their beloved art styles that lay in their bedroom. The ultimate expansion. All four elements. Earth, Air, Water & Fire. All five realms. Sky, sea, air, land & universe. The perfect & ultimate combination of the two of them. Just as their soon to be arriving, little one would be.
All that could be heard was her soft, shaky breath as she gazed from wall to wall, hands still covering her mouth.
When he asked. "Well, what do you think?" Her answer was simple. She turned & ran the few steps into his arms, hugging him tightly. He embraced her tenderly in return. His long arms holding her together when she fell apart.
"Yulissa... Darling..." He cooed, petting her hair & pressing a procession of sweet kisses to her temples. Just when she felt herself almost give herself to her tears entirely, she stepped back.
She made sure, however, to remain connected to Jimmy, pulling back, yet remaining with his hands clasped in hers. "Baby, this is gorgeous! Just gorgeous! How did you do this? How did you get all this done? Who did you hire? And what did you tell them to create this?"
"Oh, I have my ways..."
~
Hope you guys like it~!
Enjoy~!
