Does Max from Shining Force have a Ryu number?

(clarification below)

This doesn't seem quite right to me, but given what I've read about the history of the Shining series I suppose this isn't that farfetched. EXA is the Shining game that gets the most love in crossovers like Project X Zone, and I believe the connections between EXA and the other Shining games are in broad strokes at best and not at the character level, which is what this blog mainly trades in.

There is a robot named Adam in both EXA and the original Shining Force, but it seems to be more of an homage than continuity.

Still, if there's any embattled Shiningheads who can craft a route through characters that explicitly appear in the video game, I'd love to know.

Shining Force and Shining Force 2 were my Baldur's Gate 3 when I was younger. I went back to play a bit of it and it still is an amazing game.

It's set in a fantasy world (With a little Sci-Fi sprinkled in). It's a mix of tactical and turn base. You can choose your companions to use. You can find and gain new ones as you progress. Each character is unique and has their own strengths and weaknesses. The music is just epic and the story telling is just perfect.

There are Centaurs, Elves, Halflings, Dwarves, Birdmen, a Wolfman, Monster kind and a unique race called Kyantol that are just a doglike elves. (AND SO MUCH MORE!)

So if you don't mind playing a retro game, I HIGHLY recommend playing these games. I'm pretty sure there are emulators out there and Steam has a Sega Geneses emulator and you can buy the games.

trying to get back into the shining force series and im slowly crumbling to dust over how insanely hard it is to keep track of vs the draken/nier series like with drakengard its like 1, 2, then you pretend nothing else happened ever again after that BUT you have a couple artbooks and novels on the side but shining force is like shining in the darkness, shining force (okay!), shining force gaiden, shining force gaiden 2, shining force final conflict (related to gaiden but ALSO the og shining force, moreso than the other sfg games) and then

SHINING FORCE 2???????

but shining force gaiden was also a shining force 2, this is just THE shining force 2.... ANYWAYS you'd think "okay, sf3 is after this, right???" SHINING WISDOM, SHINING THE HOLY ARK, THEN SHINING FORCE 3.......... (split into THREE scenarios, which weestern audiences only got one of i believe?) and on top of that you have the 2004 gba remaster of the ORIGINAL shining force which fixes some of the localisation issues with the ORIGINAL genesis release from 1992, and i don't know if there are any artbooks which go further into these games on top of that??? i'll have to check... then after that is the modern shining force games will be honest first person jrpgs are NOT my cup of tea so i dunno how deep i'll get into shining in the darkness/shining wisdom but BOY.... where to even start with this series like, release order obviously, but you know???
