This image was captured on Squaw Valley Creek in Siskiyou County, California, USA. I captured the image on a somewhat overcast afternoon and really liked the soft ethereal light as the sun was filtered through the clouds. This part of the creek, just below the confluence of a small stream known as Cabin Creek, is especially beautiful. The famed Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) crosses just a short distance downstream from where this was captured. The small town of McCloud is just a few miles away and the whole area sits at the base of the majestic Mount Shasta, the fifth highest peak in the state of California.

'In the case filed this week, the ACLU says it has obtained data that shows the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department has been stopping Asians roughly 12 times as often as other drivers. Asians account for less than 2 percent of the population in the 85 percent white county, but they were “nearly 25 times more likely to be searched during a traffic stop than white residents,” the ACLU found, noting that nearly three-quarters of those encounters ended with no citation or arrest, proof of “a pattern of stops conducted without reasonable suspicion.”'

So, the article is from 2022, but it's 2023 now and I haven't found any new news about the mistreatment and blatant discrimination of Hmong people in Siskiyou County. Obviously, they're targeting Hmong people to drive them out of the community, passing laws/ordinances that mostly affect only Asian American properties despite being only around 2% of the county population. Siskiyou County has a racist history dating back to the 1800's where they discriminated against Chinese immigrants.

Best Place For A Winter Hike
Paradise exists in Northern California. The McCloud Falls are a wonder to see any season, but they turn spectacular in winter.
McCloud Middle Falls (Photo by LFP.
The falls are located 5 miles east of the town of McCloud in Siskiyou County, accesible via highway 89.
There are three falls (the middle falls featured). It is safe to hike on these trails but you may want to bring snow shoes and…

How Cartels Successfully Take Over Northern California | Jorge Ventura
"I covered the crime and cartel stuff, but never has an elected official in the United States backed off an interview with me, because they've actually were threatened from that group. I mean, this is happening in the United States. I mean, it's absurd."
Siyamak sits down with Jorge Ventura, Reporter and Producer of the Documentary “Narcofornia.”
Today Jorge explains the hidden world of illegal marijuana growth in California and the dangers it presents to our community. Has California lost control of these rural communities? Are the local residents feeling helpless against this threat?

Shaken, Jehoshaphat prayed. He went to God for help… 2 Chronicles 20
What a week it has been!
There is nothing quite like facing the dragon of wildfire, and realizing just how helpless you are to do ANYTHING but fall to your knees, and, with the Word of God to stand on?
Boldly ask The Mighty God for miracle upon miracle!
That is exactly what my week has been:
Praying for our courageous…
