your eyes shone and your lips parted at the sight of the chubby little knitted frog seated on your desk with the dopiest grin on its face and the sweet little black bead eyes it had on its head. yamaguchi was a little nervous, you were staring at it for quite some time now. "so, u-um... is it any, uh..." "...it'd adorable, yamaguchi." you whispered, giggling under your breath. you gently squeezed its stomach, gasping a little at how soft its belly was. "i-it's so fluffy!" you exclaimed, very flustered, yet in awe at yamaguchi's prowess for crocheting.

yamaguchi's freckled face erupted into a blushing frenzy, a darling smile on his curved lips as he fidgeted with his fingers, those very same fingers that tirelessly worked on this little frog guy for you. "n-no way! i actually, um... i was actually worried it wouldn't be that good, but... i'm glad you like it." he gushed, his smile widening, his pearly whites showing, lighting up the whole room with his innocent sweetness radiating and warming up the space between you two. it made you a lot more shy now, seeing the boy you adored get all uneasy yet so happy to hear you praise him and his work.

you smiled, your eyes staring into his own that darted from every corner of the room, avoiding your gaze because he knows that if he looks into your eyes now... he might never recover from the sheer happiness and giddiness he'd get from looking into your beautiful eyes. "it's nothing special though..." "nonsense, tadashi. it's the most beautiful frog i've ever seen, and you're the most beautiful boy i've ever seen, s-so... there!" you exclaim, quite bashful at the lack of proper sense you think your statement had, but those words you uttered sent his heart into a thumping frenzy.

yamaguchi's face flared up, he looked like a bright, red, ripe tomato; he was smiling like a dork now, unable to take all the sweetness and affection you were giving him. and you, in your equally flustered daze, were also getting hot all over, unable to look him in the eye as you tried to stop yourself from grinning, squeezing the poor frog fellow in your palm, loving it and loving him even more.

you two hopeless shy romantics could only throw compliments back and forth as if you were in a volleyball rally, and honestly? this was just the way you two loved spending time with each other. nothing could ever compete his smile and your sweetness, you were both oh so perfect for each other, the little frog guy agrees as you both think of what to name it, your hands so close to each other's, your pinky fingers awkwardly brushing over the other's as you both try to keep the fluster away... and ultimately kept failing spectacularly.

Lovelyyyy I hope you enjoy this, I didn’t know how I wanted it to go for a longgg time so, here ya go lovebug.

Anxiety crawled up Bilbo's neck as his eyes drifted through the contract in his hands. "Incineration?" He breathed out, feeling his heart pound beneath his tunic. Tearing his eyes away from the parchment, he looked to the dwarves sitting at his dining table, questions on the tip of his tongue. Before he could even utter a word, a thud was heard on the roof.

Everyone's eyes were drawn to the ceiling, small specks of dirt flying down from the impact on the dirt above the home. "What was that?" Bilbo questioned, mostly to himself. 'One thing after another tonight, I hope my hydrangeas are alright...' Bilbo thought as he tied on his robe to walk outside in the evening air. Whatever it was, certainly wasn't the everyday rabbit or squirrel.

The Company followed Bilbo, some worried there was a spy trying to gain information about their journey, while some were just curious about this unexpected event. As Bilbo raced up the side of the hill, he gasped, “Are you alright?!” Bilbo sunk to his knees beside you, eyes wide with concern.

Your eyes widened, your back arching as you gasped, the wind being knocked from your lungs. One minute you were preparing a cup of tea before bed and now all you know is that you’re in pain, seemingly dumped in Bag-End. There was ringing in your ears, but you were able to make out the words of the Hobbit crouching next to you. “Yup… Peachy…” You grunted, raising an awkward thumbs up.

“A lass?” Dwalin called out questioningly, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Yes, a woman,” Bilbo confirmed, helping you sit up. “Where did you even come from?”

Laughing you shook your head, “I don’t think you’d believe me even if I told you,” you hummed as he helped you down the hill and inside his home. The Hobbit-hole smelled of cinnamon, oranges, and all the comforts of home. A smile formed on your face as your eyes trailed around the room. The halls were lined with bookshelves, the mess of boots and armor sat by the door, the kitchen had piles of clean dishes on nearly every counter. “Definitely real,” You mumbled to yourself, seeing much more than your imagination could provide or the film showcased.

“What’s real?” Bofur questioned, his eyes sparkling as they landed on you. You were taller than a dwarf but definitely shorter than an elf, you were a human, he deducted.

Smiling you shook your head, your eyes wandering the room again. “You said Bilbo wouldn’t believe you, even if you told him where you came from…” Gandalf hummed, motioning you to sit in Bilbo’s armchair, him sitting across from you. “That I did,” You nodded, giving a small thank you as Bilbo handed you a mug of tea.

“Where are you from?” Gandalf prodded, “I can sense some sort of magic has brought you here…”

“Where I’m from, this place is fiction, a book on a shelf.” You explained, looking around.

“A story of this adventure?” Gandalf questioned, tilting his head while a mischievous twinkle formed in his eye.

Nodding you sipped your tea, “Yes,” You didn’t want to give too much away so you gave simple answers.

“Hmmm.,” Gandalf responded as he leaned back in his chair, lighting his pipe. “I believe it would be quite beneficial for you to join this adventure then, with the knowledge you hold…”

“We agree,” Fili and Kili stated their arms looping around your shoulders.

“You seem like the perfect person who would comply with a few….shenanigans?” Kili smiled at you as he talked, plans obviously swirling in his head.

“Have you eaten enough lassie?” Bofur questioned that next evening, seeing as everyone was going for seconds.

“Oh, I’m alright!” You smiled at him, making his cheeks go warm as he ducked his head, “If you’re sure…” He trailed off as he went to go get himself another bowl.

“Got your eyes on a certain lassie, ey?” Dwalin questioned, a smirk on his face as Bofur got another bowl of soup from Bombur. “What’s it to you if I do?” Bofur’s tone was uncharacteristic of him, his usually light attitude gone and replaced with anger and possessiveness.

The Company went silent in shock, not expecting such a harsh response. “We’re just teasing you, laddie,” Balin soothed, a smile on his face. “No need to worry.”

Bofur nodded, his eyes sparkling as he watched Fili and Kili entertain you with stories of their pranks back in the Blue Mountains.

“-And then the bear bit my arm!” Kili screeched, causing a fit-full of giggles to leave you.

“So then, I go back home to amad, and get the worst sickness I’ve ever had in my life!” Kili continued disbelief in his voice, lifting his sleeve to show you the healed over scar from the “vicious” bear bite.

Fili noticed Bofur’s stare, a grin on his face as he nodded to Kili, tilting his head toward Bofur’s direction.

“You know, your hair is very pretty,” Kili randomly stated, his hand moving to twirl a strand of it, a flirty smile taking over his face.

“Very soft looking too, brother, don’t forget that,” Fili played with a strand as well, moving his head closer to yours.

“What’re you two up to now?” You mumbled, realizing immediately that they were trying something.

Kili only laughed, sending you a wink as Bofur all but stomped over to the three of you.

“(Y/n),” Bofur called your attention, the two brothers immediately pulling away from you, fist-bumping behind your back.

“Yes?”

“May I speak with you? Err... In private?” Bofur’s tone was unusual, no longer light and playful.

“Oh, of course,” You smiled, sitting up, turning to give the brothers a narrowed glare, making an ‘I’m watching you’ motion with your hands.

As Bofur led you into the thicket, you began to try and think about what he wanted to tell you, before it clicked.

“Those bastards…” You mumbled.

“What?”

“Nothing... What were you wanting to talk about?” You smiled, having a thought as to what he wanted to tell you.

“I couldn’t bear seeing them so close to you like that…” Bofur began, sighing as he nervously wrung his hands.

Before he even finished his confession, you placed your hands over his. “I like you as well, Bofur.”

His face morphed from nervousness to shock, “You… You what?”

You pressed your lips to his cheek in a chaste kiss, “I said, I like you too.” You repeated, a smile on your face as you began to walk back to the camp.

Noticing he wasn’t following you, you turned. “You coming?” You questioned, holding back a laugh at his open-mouthed, shocked state.

“Aye…” He mumbled, developing heart eyes as he forced his legs to follow you.
