To quote this interview by Tri voice actors Mutsumi Tamura (Koushirou) and Takahiro Sakurai (Tentomon):

What was your impression of Tentomon in tri.?

Tamura: “My impression of Tentomon hasn’t particularly changed, but I felt like he was more of the ‘mama’ than ever (laughs). He was preparing food and snacks for everyone, and becoming the caretaker of the other Digimon...” Sakurai: “Somehow he ended taking the role of the ‘mama’ (laughs). But I think that part about doting on everyone probably has to do with the fact he’s with Koushirou.”

While they outright state that Tentomon has to take on the role of a mother to take care of Koushirou (as well), I still believe that this is actually (also) a (subconscious) trait he shares with his human partner - to at least some degree. He definitely must have taken after the protective, organizing - and even scolding - attitude Koushirou has been taken on towards not only the 02 kids, but basically the entire network ever since he was 13 years old... Even if one might argue that Tentomon is quite literally mothering Digimon like Koromon/Agumon all the time, while Koushirou has to be looked after in terms of self care just as much.

There’s something about the whole kids really trying to hide the Digimon and trying to convince people they’re holograms to the Digimon just walking around visible to everyone and all the people buy that they’re holograms with ease... Like something about this transition makes me sad

(Is it just that the kids having to put in effort every episode would get old and we get it by now so they’re intentionally trying to just smooth that out for the sake of convenience, or is writing around that “plotpoint” an inconvenience to the writers that they just don’t want to deal with anymore?)

I love that the staff saw the chance to just bring the Koushirou Levels to the Absolute Max (in a Kiyoshiro episode none the less) and fucking took it, thats fucking funny and great

± The continuing existence of our isekai mmorpg players gets ever more interesting as each of our main characters go through their own challenge and response moments: Shiroe, Akatsuki, Nyanta, Raynesia, and the baby team. The journey together with them through their insecurities and the way they attempt to make up for those is such a heartfelt core for the show.

On top of that there's the ever expanding after effects of the Apocalypse: from the flavor text becoming real, to the other intentions from other cities like Minami and servers like the China server, to the reveal of the deeper lore of Geniuses that the players didn't encounter when Elder Tale was a game. I also really enjoyed the explanation of monster gold drops and the ever brilliant keikaku of Shiroe.

In The River Fuefuki Hideko Takamine gives a remarkable performance as Okei, a woman who marries into a peasant family on the banks of the titular river. As generations pass in the small house that lies at one end of the bridge across the river, the family's sons are drawn, despite warnings from their elders, into service of the feudal lord in battle after battle. Keisuke Kinoshita has apparently designed the film as an antiwar fable, sometimes giving the monochrome images a storybook quality with overlaid washes and streaks of color, often highlighting just a candle or the fire in a small hearth with a spot of red. He takes the heroism of the samurai film and debunks it, reducing the combat to mere slashing and hacking. Okei endures and ages through the film, becoming the true hero of the story.

Culverin Bear Hijacks Love After World Domination TV Anime OP Theme

  Even monstrous henchmen deserve a chance in the spotlight, and now a special version of the opening animation sequence featuring the dulcet tones of Culverin Bear (CV: Hiroki Yasumoto) has been published for the Love After World Domination TV anime.

  The video (below) features a special version of the opening theme of the series, entitled "Koi wa Explosion (feat. Culverin Bear)". The regular version of the opening theme is entitled "Koi wa Explosion (feat. Yukari Tamura)".
