sad, boring, joyless horror. No doubt a spec script that was turned into a direct-to-dvd garbage.
But since I watched 1 & 2 the other night.
Kate & Rooney Mara are in it. Rooney for a minute only.
The girl who played Heather (Audra Lea Keener) seems like she could've been a bigger actress. She's pretty good for what it's worth. Sadly she only has 3 credits to her name.
Tina Lifford, is the placeholder Loretta Devine's character from.the first two movies it seems.

Paramount Scares: Volume One will be released on October 24 via Paramount. The 4K Ultra HD box set collects Rosemary's Baby, Pet Sematary, Crawl, Smile, and a mystery fifth title making its 4K UHD debut.
1968's Rosemary's Baby is written and directed by Roman Polanski, based on Ira Levin’s 1967 novel. Mia Farrow stars with John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon, Sidney Blackmer, Maurice Evans, and Ralph Bellamy.
1989's Pet Sematary is based on the 1983 novel by Stephen King, who also penned the script. Mary Lambert (Urban Legends: Bloody Mary) directs. Dale Midkiff, Fred Gwynne, Denise Crosby, Brad Greenquist, and Miko Hughes star.
2019's Crawl is directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension) and written by Michael & Shawn Rasmussen (The Ward). Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper star. Sam Raimi produces.
2022's Smile marks the feature debut of writer-director Parker Finn, based on his 2020 short film Laura Hasn’t Slept. Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn, and Rob Morgan star.

October/Halloween/Horror Creation Celebration Prompts
Week 1 (Oct 1-7):
Creature Feature- celebrate your favorite monsters of spn or one you really wish had been in spn
Celestial Horror- the horror of angels and heaven and their interactions on earth
Slutty, Bloody, and Pathetic- three tenements of ideal blorbos, use all or some to show off your favorite spn blorbos
Week 2 (Oct 8-14):

There's Always Another One: another monster, another hunt on the horizon, an unexpected issue popping up, or maybe there's something else unexpected. It's all up to you how you take this one on.
Week 5 (Oct 29-31)
Halloween Incarnate: anything and everything to do with the holiday. Decorating, trick or treating, dressing up, buying bargain candy on Nov 1, any and all is fair game.
Trick: It's time to be cruel and come up with something that feels perfect until the cracks start showing. Give us djinn dreams, Chuck won truthing, misunderstandings, anything tricky.
Treat: Bring on the fluff and happiness. That perfect ending or moment, happiness is in the having and let's celebrate it.
You don't have to follow all the prompts, you're welcome to pick and choose which you feel like fulfilling. The week ranges are suggestions and not hard guidelines you can post whenever you want. The big thing is to have new things to see and share. MirSan: Man in the mirror
This is a entry for @loveofmirsan event MirSan week 2023 day 3: glass. The story of this Victoria Era AU center on a legend of a ritual in which young women would see their future husband in a mirror by chanting Bloody Mary which become the Bloody Mary urban legend that we know.
Gathering around the bathroom mirror, the group of young woman start asking who should go first. There is a legend that, by some magic words, the man that a woman would marry will appear in the mirror. Sango said to her friends as she push front, "This is my home, so I will go first in this silly legend."
Standing in front of the mirror, Sango said to the mirror, "Mary, Mary, Mary, show me who I will marry in days to come." Suddenly, the images of the girls in the mirror start to faded to Sango and the others' surprise and the girls take a step back. In a moment, a image of a well dressed man appear in the mirror.
The man in the mirror is a handsome young man with short black hair and blue eyes. He look so real that Sango could have swear that she saw his eyes move to look at the room. Kagome ask Sango, "Well, what do you see?" and Sango turn around to answer her friend question while confused, "What do you mean? Do you see that man...." but stop short when she look back at the mirror to see that it has return to normal, becoming a normal mirror and no man there. Sango step back in confused as the girls start arguing that they should take their turns now.
Two days later, Sango is told by her father in his lobby, "Sango, you have reach the age to be a fine wife to a man of our class. I have sent letters to many dukes and one of them wish to meet you. His name is Duke Miroku. He is around your age, I reckon."
As he enter, Sango was surprised at the appeance of Duke Miroku as he look strangely similar to the man in the mirror she saw in that party, and she look at him for some time until Sango's father said, "My dear, are you going to introduced yourself?"
Sango got a moment to noticed that Duke Miroku didn't have a reflection in the stairways mirror.
When Sango cheek a peek, she watch as Duke Miroku enter the mirror as if it is like water.
Despite days when Duke Miroku would be nowhere to be seem, Sango is blessed with children she now bear.
Sango watch as Miroku comes out of the mirror and take one of the twins, saying to her, "Forgive me my love, but I must have one of our daughters. Our time together was sweet, but we must go our separate ways as I can't stay forever in your world." and enter the mirror with the baby in his arms.
When the servants enter the bed chamber, they see Sango crying and one of the twins missing. Police looking into the strange disappearance of the baby girl would reveal that there are no records of Duke Miroku.

Seven Sentence Sunday

From a new WIP that I didn't plan on and took over my mind yesterday, untitled spooky fic:
“You have to say her name three times, in front of a mirror, while the lights are out, and locked in the bathroom” Laura said, looking around the room and the rest of the terrified little girls “Bloody Mary” They gasped, and Eddie held back the impulse of rolling his eyes “Bloody Mary” He heard a couple of the girls whine, taking their blankets and covering their heads.
He probably should stop them from telling scary stories but he figured it was part of the fun of sleepovers, as longs as his parents didn’t find out, it’d be okay.
“Bloody Mary!” Laura yelled and the rest of the girls screamed, Sophia tucking herself into Eddie’s side. “And then she shows up and takes your eyes, cause you know, she doesn’t have any”
“Why doesn’t she have any?” Adriana asked, voice trembling. Eddie really should stop this before they all got nightmares.
“Because they got cut out by her boyfriend, duh”
“Alright” Eddie finally said, all eyes turning to him “How about we change the subject?”
“Why? Are you scared?”
Eddie hated them all, he didn’t know why he was stuck supervising his little sisters sleepover. He was 12 now, he had better things to do than babysit.
“Because I’m trying to save you guys the nightmares”
“Or maybe you don’t have anything to share cause you’re lameeee” Another one of the girls said, Eddie sighed, he’d known all these girls since they were practically babies, they were all like very annoying extra little sisters.
“Alright then, I have one, it’s not a urban legend, it’s a ritual, and if goes well, you’re supposed to see the person who you’re gonna spend the rest of your life with” They all smiled excitedly at him.

Dark Reflections, Part 3
Mary awoke in a distorted world. Either she retained her full memories or she only remembered her time as Mary Agana and forgot that she was once named Mandy. Either way her body returned to the empty shell she wore most recently. Neither alive, nor dead, nor even undead… a new form of “existence” altogether. She explored this world. It was confusing, but also desolate and bland.
Soon she went to an old Skoolhouse with a pumpkin patch and met her great grandmother Mary Worthington (who looked different from the woman “Mandy” saw in her childhood). Whatever answers she tried to pry from Worthington were not by words, Worthington couldn’t speak. For awhile Mary Agana thought she had no sentience at all. But Dr. Agana could sense pain and suffering. Whatever the circumstances was for her death back then, it probably was gruesome indeed and that was what led to Worthington’s current state. A state that was different from her own. The person formerly known as Mandy killed her great grandmother and sent her soul away from the realm. Mary Agana then suddenly felt-no, sensed a great energy surge through her.
As Mary was remodeling the mirror realm, she suddenly heard someone calling out the words “Bloody Mary”. She peered into a reflective surface and saw the face of the one calling her. She instantly knew.
Bloody Mary appeared to the one calling her new name and gave her a real fright.
After time has passed after the doctor’s disappearance, the children, the youth, and a few brainwashed by the “treatments” told tales. They spoke that the doctor was actually a walking and talking “empty shell”. Some were more mundane and conspiratorial, like Dr. Mary Agana just fled and became a gym teacher or similar. But the most popular one was that of Bloody Mary. If one were to speak the words “Bloody Mary” in a certain number of times in a mirror, she would appear. What happens when one were to say her name varied. Sometimes she just spooked them. Others she left scars in them. Others say she still continued her “therapy” and brought a person’s fears to life, or submerged them in deep layers of hatred or sorrow. Several accounts even said she would bring them into her own world behind the reflections.
All of the above came true.
Bloody Mary’s world was a confusing land of opposites and distortions but also far more colorful and vibrant than it was before. Several characters from fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and fables existed here alongside some of the scariest urban legends and myths. She brought to life the Body Collectors, who this time resided in an even worse distortion of Victorian London. Here there were no Jack the Ripper or other Victorian serial killers. It was always the Collectors using scapegoats to mask the bodies and body parts they were collecting to hang as “art”. Bloody Mary had control over all of the realm of reflections and could shape it to her will. In addition she could control all lesser paranormal and supernatural entities. Such as the creatures from her experiments who reappeared in this world. Though this was not solely limited to the mirror world, far from it.
A few characters in the mundane world became her helpers. After a shootout which left him bleeding from a bullet wound, Charles Lee Ray invoked the words “Bloody Mary“ to escape his fate. Subsequently Charles Lee Ray became a murderous Good Guy doll by the name of Chucky. Like Mary, he also did not belong to the dead or even undead planes of existence and usually does his own things… for now.
Bloody Mary is one entirely without emotion. At least she thinks so. Still there is that odd nagging that something is missing…
Nia:

Dr. Mary Agana was right about her potential forgetfulness when she crossed over. She did forget she used to be Mandy; or at least she questions that she used to be her.
What is her mode of existence called? She is neither dead nor alive, but she is not undead either. Mary is in the gray area. It’s kinda cool.
I would imagine that a mirror realm would be desolate and bland, but also very shiny.

Mandy! You killed your great-grandmother!?
Has Mary become so detached from her old life and memories that she does not know that she is Mandy, and that she killed Mary Worthington? Perhaps Mary Worthington recognizes Mandy, or she is “frightened” by the similarities Dr. Mary has to her great-granddaughter. That’s why she cannot speak.
Well, I can’t say that Mary is detached. She experienced an energy surge in understanding what happened to “mute” Mary Worthington. Dr. Mary must recognize herself as being relevant to the situation, even if she cannot state what her exact role was.

Alright, so here’s what’s going on with Marianna’s romance arc in the third draft of book 1.
With Rhiannon having her role minimized in the next draft’s plans, I decided I’d expand on a little throwaway bit of trivia I had lying around that stated Marianna had sex with the demon named Bloody Mary in 1984. Bloody Mary the folklore character is someone I’ve wanted to use in a story for a while, and while Marianna has the nickname “Bloody Mary” (though she’s not happy about that), I saw this as an opportunity to do just that.
Her new eventual love interest is a mirror demon she met in school in the wake of the incident that gave her her nickname. This character is going to fix and add a lot in the story, including but not limited to:
Helping flesh out Marianna’s backstory more, including what frayed her and Nadia’s relationship prior to the big incident.
Establish how the Bloody Mary urban legend took its current form.
Give Gabby another adult to talk to, one who’s a lot less mysterious or aloof.
Keeping the “Marianna longing for Nadia” plot from being resolved halfway through the first book and drying up a lot of stakes.
Helping establish how Eve can appear when her true name is spoken better.
Give Marianna a romantic arc that isn’t resolved in one book.
Add more sapphic yearning to the narrative.
This draft will continue with Rhiannon in the story, but this is what she’ll be supplanted by in draft #3!
Right now the only thing I don’t have for this demon gal is a name, so if you have any suggestions feel free to send them in! I just don’t want to call her Mary because then it’s Mary and Marianna, which is kinda uninspired.

This horror au was inspired by this post on dapperwerewolf's tumblr! It just sounded so creepy and cool, so I hope I did it justice and made it creepy enough!
Bloody Mary au
A game. It was just supposed to be only a game.
A game based off an urban legend about a so called monster hunter called 'KK' who was said to have been murdered by those he trusted, and if you say his name 3 times in complete darkness, you'd come face to face with his enraged spirit.
Or at least that's how the legend supposly goes.
And Akito was unfortunate enough to be pulled unwillingly into playing the game himself by some of his bullies.
The thugs proceed to drag him behind the college and over to some run down storage sheds where they then toss Akito into one of the sheds and slams the door shut behind him.
"Go on, Izuki! Say 'KK' 3 times and we'll let you back out!"
In a growing sense of terror, Akito quickly does that, loudly yelling KK 3 times till his voice sounded hoarse.
"I-I did it! I fucking did it so let me out!" Akito yells as he hits the doors, but to his horror, his bullies laugh and he hears the door lock from the outside.
"See you in the morning, nerd!" One of his bullies calls out, their voice already growing distant. "If we remember you're here and you're still alive that is!"
Akito yells, screams, hits the door with his fists and body, but the shed door remained strong. Eventually, Akito tires himself out and he sits on the floor in defeat.
Shoulders slump and his face sticky with tears, Akito shoves a hand into his pocket and pulls out his phone. Hopefully he had some power left to call for help...
He didn't. His phone was dead, and now he was stuck in this shed till someone accidentally finds him, and that could be ages!
Akito shoves his phone back into his pocket and starts digging through his bag. "Where is it... Ah! Here it is!" It was a small flashlight that Mari gave him before her... accident.
Akito shakes his head. No! He wasn't going to think about that!
With a sigh, Akito flips his flashlight on and begins searching the shed for anything useful. But there wasn't much, only a few exercise mats and nothing else... Great.
With nothing else to do but wait, Akito pulls a few excersize mats out and makes a makeshift bed, and settles down for an uncomfortable nap...
...He wakes up sometime later to a stiff neck and a hungry belly.
Oh, and the small hint of light that once peeked under the shed dorr was gone, meaning it must be nighttime now.
Now here he was, sitting in the dark, hungry, wide awake, and bored out his fucking mind.
In the end, maybe that's what drives him to do what he did next. The boredom, the loneliness, the fact Akito knew neither of things were going to end anytime soon.
"KK." Akito whisper into the darkness. "KK. KK."
Silence, thick and deep enough to make Akito's skin itch is his only reply.
"KK." Akito calls out louder. "KK. KK."
Still nothing happens. No one answers him."
"KK! KK! KK!" Akito was screaming now. "ANSWER ME!"
But again, nothing happens. "Stupid..." Akito whispers as he falls back on the mats. "He isn't even real."
"But," Akito closes his eyes and starts talking. "if you were real... then I'm sorry about what happened to you..." He trails off with a tired sigh.
Suddenly, something ruffles his hair. This sensation draws Akito out his thoughts and he shudders. What the-
He opens his eyes... and a pair of glowing gold eyes stared down at him from the darkness above him.
His breath hitches, his heart skips. Akito tries to scream, but nothing comes out, and all the while those eyes kept staring down at him unblinkingly.
"Please..." Akito whimpers, and for a moment, he swears he feels hands on him. Feels clawlike fingers trail across his cheeks and then presses down on his bottom lip, pricking it and making it bleed.
All around him the suffocating darkness seems to laugh at him, a raspy sound that almost seems to wrap around Akito and squeeze his very soul.
For a moment, Akito felt like this was it. He was going to die all alone in this shed, killed by this thing! He'd soon be nothing more but a dead body for his bullies to poke at if they even bothered to rememeber to come let him out in the morning.
But then all of a sudden, the shed door opens, and Akito was on his feet in a instant, running for his life.
The college grounds were completely empty, but Akito didn't care. He just runs, and runs, and runs.
And he feels eyes on him the entire way home.
...Akito ends up skipping class the next day. He didn't want to deal with his bullies, who he knew for a fact would demand answers on how he got out of that shed.
And he was still trying to understand what the hell that thing was in the shed. Could it have been an hallucination? Or maybe-
"Breaking news!" Akito glances over at his tv and nearly chokes on air. There, on the news, was a news report about several college students being found dead in their homes.
All of those murder 'victims' were Akito's bullies. Every last one of them, and now they were all dead. Their bodies mangled beyond any recognition...
Akito shivers, feeling an odd sense of horror mixed with... relief.
He shouldn't feel relief that these people were dead. He shouldn't, but... he did.
Those so called 'victims' were his bullies, his tormentors, his abusers. They mocked him, hurt him, took his things, they even said cruel things about his dead sister, Mari!
As far as Akito was concern, they got what they deserved!
Still, the fact they all died at same time was kinda odd... Could it be possible that thing he saw in the shed killed them? If so, why didn't it kill him when it had the chance? Why did it let him go?
Wait a second... That thing only appeared after he called out for 'KK'! Does that mean that thing was-!...
..."KK." Akito whispers into the darkness of his bedroom, arms curled tight around his pillow. "KK. KK."
"I-I know it's wrong," Akito's voice was so low, barely even a whisper. "But I just want to say..." Akito squeezes his eyes shut. "Thank you."
Nothing happens. The silence was thick, but then something ruffles Akito's hair and there's a familiar sting on his bottom lip.
And when Akito opens his eyes, with his heart pounding in his chest and his mouth dry as a desert, he's greeted by the sight of familar glowing red eyes staring down at him...

hi , my name is . . . aura !
the character i’m drawn to in horrors is . . . the serendiptist ! i spent a while alternating between them and the scelestic, but was struck with a bolt of inspiration for the serendiptist at essentially the last second. the idea might be a little whacky though, so we’ll see if i manage to pull it off in a compelling way in my app :’> fingers crossed !
favorite scary movie ? obviously . . . i have a hard time classifying them as horror movies even though they technically are, but the final destination franchise is my absolute favorite. i watch those movies religiously, especially 2 and 3.
favorite urban legend ? it’s totally . . . there’s a few that i like. bloody mary, the rat king, hanako-san, ben drowned. it’s really hard for me to pick just one, but i’ll go with the rat king since the name is funny and the real world science and logistics behind it are really gross and fascinating.
i’m excited to see this happening in the group . . . i loooooove love love love the anthology aspect of this group, so i’m really excited to see how everyone’s characters change over the course of the rp. it’ll be a cool experience to test my range and push my comfort zone as a writer, as well as see everyone else’s creativity as the plot changes. honestly though, i’m excited for all of it. this group is seriously right up my alley in all aspects.

When I was a kid slasher movies were all the rage and my parents would NOT let me watch any of them, seeing it as very shocking that my peers all had. Consequently I was obsessed with them and begged to be told about any my classmates had seen and one girl whispered to me about a movie where the killer or whoever targeted a girl and called her a very bad word in the process, dramatically pausing before revealing this word was "hoe", and getting exasperated when I did not know this word.
I love that that's the thing that scandalized her--never mind the murdering. But eleven-year-old me was also absolutely floored to find out that the Francesca Lia Block book my mom had given me (at Easter!) contained the word "fuck," while barely batting an eye at the references to child abuse and heroin addiction.
As for the Candyman story...what Kendall-from-camp said was that, if you said Candyman's name five times, he would appear and then you would never be happy again. She might've been trying to pass it off as an urban legend rather than a movie--we were debating trying to summon Bloody Mary and scaring ourselves by playing Hand-of-God with our flashlights--but I'd seen a copy of Candyman 3: Dawn of the Dead in a grocery store, so I knew better.
