Molly's Halloween Hula Costume

I found a photograph of a young girl in a crepe paper hula skirt today. I believe Valerie Tripp mentioned on the American Girl Podcast that Molly's costume is based on one she created as a child.

Was it racist for Molly to make a hula costume? I think so. But I don't think she was making it with the intent of being racist. She probably thought she was appreciating Hawaiian culture.

While Nanea probably would be upset that her cultural dance was reduced to a crepe paper skirt, I think she would also understand that Molly had never been to Hawaii or spoken to a Hawaiian person.

Felicity is sent to Miss Manderly's house to learn to be a polite gentlewoman. She practices stitchery, dancing, penmanship, and the proper way to serve tea. What I Read in November 2022

never could find most of these as a child, so as an adult with money, I shall now read these books. ^_^’ also they are very cute. 

re-read, still fun (though not sure why Percy picked on Persephone so much?)

so I begin the trauma again... XD

this was so good, i loved “A Man Called Ove” and this book lived up to that. 

ah Ciel and the need for (slightly petty) revenge. Still not sure about someone already ranked an Earl getting to attend the school but...

I’d been reading this online and nearly given up on it, as the translators kept changing as did the quality of translation, then spotted this at walmart and happily snatched it up. ^_^ Looking forward to volume 2

very fun, also kept thinking in all caps while reading this, didn’t know I could... XD 

not sure I liked the conclusion to the Fullbring arc? Though Byakuya subtly stanning Ichigo was great.
