Let me dig up the actual questions I’m answering here… okay!

6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?

You know, for a while this year I very seriously considered deleting everything I’ve ever written. I love writing, but I don’t have a great deal of confidence in the work I do. I know it’s not bad, but at the same time to me it never seems all that good, either. Certainly not good enough. Thankfully, I received some advice from two very wonderful writer friends of mine (Lannakitty and venomRED, both amazing, seriously go check ‘em out), who reminded me that even if I wasn’t 100% happy with something, deleting it wasn’t the answer. For better or worse, my fics are things that I created, things that I’ve put blood and sweat and tears into, and even if I never wrote another word, they’re worth preserving. So I guess my answer to the question would be… none of them. They’re a part of me, and they’re going to stay that way.

20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?

Ones I could have ended differently? Absolutely. Ones I wish I’d ended differently? Probably not, now that I think about it. People ended up where they needed to be. For example: I’m not going to spoil it for you cause I’m pretty sure you haven’t read that far, but the ending of Lion’s Torment in particular I could have gone in a very different direction. I had a choice to make that would have very seriously affected Auriana’s future as a character, and while it could be argued that the choice I didn’t make was a more interesting narrative direction, I made the choice that made me happy as an author to write, and while I ummed and ahhed about it for a long time, in the end I’m glad I chose the direction I did. (That was very cryptic, I’m sorry).

30) In contrast to 29, is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?

Can’t say I ever eye roll at my stories, or at the people who like them. I’m honestly just so happy anyone likes anything… But! I’ve definitely had the experience of someone telling me that they loved a scene and in my head I’m thinking, “That one? Really? Are you sure you read it properly?”. Or there’s something that I didn’t think was all that important or special, which turns out to really resonate with someone.

Alternatively, it quite often happens that I write a line of dialogue or a insert little Easter Egg or something that I personally think is awesome and not a single person notices it or comments on it… such is the way of the world!

Seriously though if I’ve ever written anything that anyone enjoyed, even if it was just one sentence, I’m over the moon about it. I don’t care what it was.
