Here are some ✨ Incorrect Quotes ✨ of Firefighter Daigo Rescuer in Orange Characters
Mostly consists of the main trio ofc
Shun: Can you keep a secret?
Daigo: Do you know anything about my life
Shun: No I do not. Good point.
Shun: Man, I only ever see you awake, do you ever shut down or stop running?
Daigo: Oh, I'm always running.
Daigo: The question is from what.
Shun: Okay, truth or dare?
Daigo: Truth
Shun: How many hours have you slept this week?
Daigo:
Daigo: ...Dare
Shun: Go to bed.
Daigo: I don't like this game.
Shun: This is such a bad idea.
Daigo: Then why are you coming along?
Shun: One of us need to be able to talk the cops out of arresting us when this inevitably goes wrong.
Shun: Why would you think any of this was a good idea?
Daigo: Probably because I'm a dangerous sociopath with a long history of violence.
Shun:
Daigo: I don't know how you keep forgetting this.
Daigo: Who thinks I can fit 15 marshmallows in my mouth?
Shun: You're a hazard to society
Yuki: And a coward. DO TWENTY.
Yuki: Daigo, I am questioning your sanity...
Shun: I never questioned it, I knew their sanity was missing from the start.
(this generator is so on point istg)
Yuki: I really like this whole 'good guy, bad guy' thing you guys have going on.
Daigo: It's not an act, it's just that I'm mean and Shun isn't.
Shun: Oh, fiddlesticks.
Yamagami: Look, I understand this is a tense situation, but let's watch the fucking language.
Shun: So what's for dinner?
Daigo, staring at the food he just burnt: Regret.
Shun: I think I'm falling for you.
Yuki: Then get up.
Daigo: You're right.
Shun: That's... That's an unusual phrase for you. Did you just learn it?
Yuki: If you had to choose between Shun and all the money I have in my wallet, which would you choose?
Daigo: That depends, how much money are we taking about?
Shun: Daigo!
Yuki: 63 cents.
Daigo: I'll take the money.
Shun: Daigo!!!
Shun: If Daigo and I were drowning, who would you save?
Yuki: You two can't swim?
Daigo: It's a hypothetical question, Yuki! who would you save?
Yuki: my time and effort.
Shun: We can't tell you because you're not a member of the club.
Daigo: What club?
Yuki: The hating Daigo club.
Daigo: …The fuck? I should be the leader of that club!
Daigo: Are you sure this is the right direction?
Shun: Certainly, I'm as sure as I am honest!
Yuki: In that case, we're definitely lost.
Daigo: Shun, what do IDK, LY, and TTYL mean?
Shun: I don't know, love you, talk to you later.
Daigo: Ok, I love you too, I'll just ask Yuki.
Yuki, watching Shun and Daigo from afar: Two Bros, Chillin in a hot tub. Five feet apart because they think they’re not gay, BUT THEY REALLY ARE-
*Shun and Daigo flirting with each other yet again*
Yuki: And you two are sure you're not dating?
Daigo: 100%.
Shun: Of course not! Why would you think that?
Yuki: I wonder why that possibility would even cross my mind, Shun. I fucking wonder.
Shun: Yuki, I’m afraid.
Yuki: Just stay close to Daigo.
Shun: That's why I’m afraid.
Shun: So are you two dating now?
Daigo & Yuki: Yes.
Shun: Why?
Daigo: I happen to find Yuki very appealing.
Shun: Yeah, I can understand that.I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with Yuki.
Daigo: Come on, I wasn't that drunk last night.
Yuki: You were flirting with Shun.
Daigo: So what? He's my partner.
Yuki: You asked him if he was single.
Daigo:
Yuki: And then you cried when he said he wasn't.
Yuki, to Shun: My life is in the hands of an idiot!
Shun, motioning to himself and Daigo: No no no no no, TWO idiots!
Yuki: In your opinion, what's the height of stupidity?
Shun: * turning to Daigo* How tall are you?
Yuki: Daigo and I were crossing the street, and this dude drove by and honked at us
Shun: * Sighing * What did Daigo do?
Yuki: He chased him to the next red light, then reached into his window and...
Daigo: Who wants a steering wheel?
Daigo: *coughs blood*
Shun: Don't die, Daigo!
Daigo: Don't tell me what to do!
Daigo: We have a problem.
Shun: No, YOU have a problem. I have an idiot who keeps making them.
Daigo: I’m in love with you.
Shun: We called off the prank war last night at midnight, dork.
Daigo: I know.
Shun: Ah. Okay. Um. Cool. Neat. Very cool. Cool. Cool. Coolcoolcool-
Shun: Is there something you would like to say, Yuki?
Yuki: Oh, there are SEVERAL things I would like to say.
Shun: Can I bother you for a second?
Yamagami: You're always bothering me, but go ahead.
Daigo: We should be partners.
Shun: You mean like, partners in crime?
Daigo: Yeah... that’s precisely what I meant.
Daigo: You’re overthinking this.
Shun: You don’t know the appropriate level of thinking, Daigo. What if I’m underthinking?
Yuki: So... who's the big spoon and who's the little spoon?
Shun: We're chopsticks!
Yuki: Well... that's cute!
Yuki: Does that mean you two snuggle together perfectly?
Daigo: No, it means that if you take the other away, the only thing the other is good for is stabbing.
Shun: I asked Yuki out.
Shun's classmate: Oh, I’m sorry.
Shun: Why?
Shun's classmate: Well, I assume she said no.
Shun: No, she said yes.
Shun's classmate: Really? Then I’m sorry for her.
*playing twister*
Yuki: Right hand red.
Daigo: *ends up on top of Shun*
Shun: You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?
Yuki: I stopped spinning like 15 minutes ago. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't notice.
Daigo: *yawns*
Shun: Yeah, being that pretty must be tiring.
Daigo: Then you must be exhausted.
Yuki: Will you two shut up? Some of us are lonely.
Daigo: I’ve never asked someone out. How do you even do it?
Yuki: Oh, what I do is, I look them up and down and I say: “Hey… how you doin’?”
Shun, scoffing: Oh, please.
Yuki, to Shun: Hey, how you doin’?
Shun:
Shun: *giggles and blushes*
Shun: *pretending to joke* So when are you going to go out with me?
Daigo: I don't know. When are you going to ask me to?
Yuki: And you just ran away?!
Shun: I didn't expect him to flirt back!
Daigo: Hey I just got a pet snake. What should I name him?
Shun: A pet WHAT?!
Yuki: William Snakespeare.
Shun: There's no way he like me back.
Yuki: Daigo would throw himself in front of a moving car for you.
Shun: Daigo would throw himself in front of a moving car for fun.
Shun: I find it very unseemly of Daigo to start dating again. Isn't the customary period of mourning 10 years?
Yuki: Die. Let's find out.
(THIS ONE IS OUT OF LEFT FIELD)
Shun: Hey, did you know as a kid I accidentally ate paper?
Yuki: I feel like we've all done that at least once.
Daigo: I ate it too-
Yuki: See?
Daigo:-On purpose...
Shun & Yuki: ...What?
Shun: Well, remember when Yuki made a romantic dinner for me?
Daigo: Shun, she microwaved you a pizza.
Amakasu: Please be Daigo's partner.
Shun: Can I decline?
Daigo: I've already burnt the receipt. No take backsies.
I know Shun's the comedic relief but Daigo literally has zero braincells. There's only one braincell between the three of them and Yuki and Shun shares it most of the time. Shun is 99% Daigo's impulse control, I love their dynamic. Also, I like to think that Yuki is a lil bit sassy, I know the 'shi-ne' (go die, or fuck off) text is a bit too far in their line of work but that's just so millenial-gen z humor I can't blame her.

what i think REALLY works about dot and bubble is it plays with the genre conventions of doctor who itself. We've seen doctor lite episodes like this, we know how they work. There's person who needs to be saved who gets indirect help from the doctor, maybe they're flawed and learn a lesson at the end, maybe they're part of some flawed society that is just kind of set dressing or ends up being torn down at the end without examination. About halfway through the episode I was ready to brush this off as a fun but predictable classic rtd ep that wasn't really anything special. Then from the the betrayal of ricky September on its like watching a house of cards that has been built the entire episode without us noticing collapse into a perfect stack
“Oh well of course you could see them being racist the whole time” the thing is sometimes doctor who is just like that. RTD EPISODES have historically just been like that, either in that they are microagressions in themselves or have bigoted characters/worlds that go unexamined. And I think this episode performed an absolutely insane self aware slight of hand that relies on both you and the writers knowing that doctor who and sci fi in general has a racism problem. The ending recontextualizes things in the episode you may initially have brushed off as an unfortunate BBC or science fiction moment (all white cast, manifest destiny language) as symptomatic of larger societal issues, thus in turn recontextualizing missed moments of bigotry in the shows own history

there was something really jim henson-esque and campy about how some of the non-human races were portrayed in the new dnd movie that i really enjoyed. they could’ve easily gone the shitty cgi route or just not shown those races up close at all, but no, they said you want a bird man? we’re gonna get you a bird man

Maybe a hot take, but I don't think the Traveler was being inconsistent or out of character in the last archon quest at all. People are getting upset at their reaction to Lyney and Lynette's behavior from the perspective of players, with meta knowledge of the story that the Traveler, the character, doesn't have.
The players know, for example, that because they're playable characters, Lyney and Lynette are ultimately friendly and on "our" side, and we can also trust that what they told us about their backstory is true. The Traveler does not have that knowledge.
TO BE CLEAR this post is talking about my thoughts on the TRAVELER'S thought process. If we want to talk about how I personally would have reacted to the situation, I'm an overly trusting bleeding-heart who would absolutely get scammed and probably murdered by Fatui in this universe.
(Also characters, even main characters who you normally like, can do things you disagree with and that doesn't mean they're badly written. I mean, sometimes they are, but I don't think that's true in this particular case)
But think about it! Looking at the entire situation from an in-universe, in-character POV, it's a really bad look for Lyney and Lynette overall, because here are the facts as the Traveler is aware of them:
Lyney and Lynette are not only members of the Fatui, the primary antagonistic force in this story, but are specifically members of the House of the Hearth, which is known to specialize in espionage, subterfuge, and sabotage.
Both of them also work in a field that would further require them to be masters of misdirection, audience manipulation, and drama.
They "coincidentally" ran into the Traveler right as they arrived in Fontaine and immediately began to do them favors and be very friendly, including saving them from Furina, bringing them to meet their family, and gifting them VIP tickets to Lyney's show.
During the trial, the twins withheld key information, and not just about their identities (and listen, I get it, I fully empathize with why they did it, I get the reasoning, but it's still a bad look when it gets figured out) but also about what they were doing in the tunnel.
They admitted that the entire magic show was a ruse to do, guess what? espionage! To break into the room with the Oratrice's core and find out how it works. To, through subterfuge, obtain Fontaine's secrets about the nation's most important mechanism and central source of power.
The Traveler has known these people for like, a day total.
So what conclusions might the Traveler draw from these facts? When the evidence shows that Lyney and Lynette have a record of misdirection and obfuscation for their own ends? When the Traveler has no way of knowing if even their initial meeting was orchestrated for an ulterior purpose? How are they supposed to know if the tragic backstory is even true, or if that's just Lyney trying to win back some favor and sympathy? In my opinion, at that moment, they don't. Hence the coldness.
My interpretation of events is that the Traveler does like the twins, and wanted to keep liking them, but was struggling to reconcile their initial impression of two friendly magicians with the realization that these two friendly magicians were dishonest with them for most of the time they'd known each other, so they needed to have some space to figure that out.
And for those saying the Traveler is inconsistent, here's the thing: they still helped Lyney. They still acted as his attorney, investigated thoroughly, won the case, and cleared his name. They've done similar for other Fatui members in their acquaintance—they helped Childe with Teucer, they helped Scaramouche/Wanderer with getting his memories back, they helped that other member of the House of the Hearth fake her death and escape the organization—whether or not they fully trusted them, and generally they didn't.
As for the Traveler's supposed hypocrisy, my view of their relationship with Childe is that it's only improved because, despite Childe trying to nuke Liyue in the past, the Traveler knows that
a. They can handle him if it comes down to a fight again; b. He likes them, regardless of if the feeling is mutual or not, and is indeed aggressively friendly to the point where it's easier to just be civil; c. Childe is generally upfront and honest about his actions and will strike from the front, not stab them in the back; and d. He's worked together with them before when they had a common goal (for example, the labyrinth they went through with Xinyan).
They know how his mind works and what motivates him. Childe is a known quantity, the twins are not, and it took in-story time and shared experiences for the Traveler to get to even this point of neutrality; they were openly suspicious of him during his story quest.
As for holding his Vision for him, the Traveler didn't exactly volunteer for the job, Childe literally threw it at them with no warning and peaced out. What do you expect them to do, drop it in the sea? That would be inconsistent with their characterization.
Wanderer's whole situation is even weirder, since the Traveler was able to experience his actual memories and emotions and therefore has good reason to trust that he's had a genuine change of heart. Not to mention that they're not friends, I'd argue they're in that same nebulous "neutral" zone, and that only because Nahida usually functions as a buffer (and also because, again, the Traveler knows that they can handle Wanderer in a fight, and Wanderer also tends to be blunt and honest).
Also, in Lyney's story quest it seems like everyone got over their problems pretty fast and they're all chummy now, so you can all rest easy that the twins' feelings weren't too hurt about it.
Anyways if you disagree go ham, refute my points, whatever, just keep things civil.

scary, who threw herself into fighting like hell to get that anchor and refused to let herself process her grief. scary, who threw herself into fighting loudly and quickly so that normal wouldn't have to as he processed his own.
scary, who hopelessly demanded to anyone that would listen that they had to bring terry back. scary, who tried to tell normal that no one could bring hermie back either.
scary, who wasn't herself when terry jr. said his last words to her. scary, who made sure normal knew about hermie's last words to him that he wasn't even awake for.

i am looking at nohats au 👀 please share more
So! NoHats! I'm going to grab you and use this to ramble. A Lot.
The NoHats AU is @samhainian's it's just that I'm the strange little freak who takes the words said unto me and executes on them. But I can still do a little explainer on what our overall thoughts and vibes are. (And, that we are in fact propping up a little box with some cheese under it here. 🪤 Please (PLEASE) feel free to pick up what we're putting down.)
We're far from the only ones exploring a "what if siffrin fucking died" AU, though the main difference with NoHats is the placement of the death in the timeline. Instead of being 'Mal Du Pays Wins' or 'Act 6 encounter goes horribly wrong', the death is… Just after the (literal) falling action.
(This placement is because Sam is a comic book fan who thus has become used to characters being ripped away at the cruelest times by shitty writers. THANK FUCKING GOD adrienne is not that and isat is delightful yippieee, but, back on topic.)
Giving the party the full understanding of What Happened that you get by putting the death after black hole siffrin, but before the A6 encounter leaves an interesting gap to be filled. See, making Siffrin's death very much not Loop's fault means that… this once again reads (when not read as simply a tragedy...) as the universe doing what it sees fit to fulfull Loop's wish… Thus making Siffrin's death Loop's fault again, but only in their eyes. And only in a way they could express if they were honest about who they were…
And this is where having had excuse to waffle about my general Postcanon Loop thoughts the other day comes in handy, because Sam and I have that as our canon-compliant reading to begin with, NoHats plays off of a lot of the same readings of Loop's character. Namely: Uh Oh Somebody's Lying By Fucking Omission Again. (BECAUSE TO BE FAIR THIS TIME… HOW THE FUCK WOULD YOU HANDLE THAT?)
Now, neither Sam nor I are fanfic writers, so this has been a little bit trapped in our heads and DMs (and my unfinished art but,)
But our thoughts on how NoHats like… Goes.
Siffrin's death is peaceful, but that does not mean the aftermath of it is. I can't imagine the party takes it well, especially after understanding the circumstances of the Loops. (And, of note, in A5 where nobody had the discussion on what to do with each other's bodies should something happen…) But I'd imagine it traumabonds them somewhat (understatement of the century) and now knowing how the rest of the party feels, they resolve to travel together for the forseeable future.
The party track down Loop to deliver the terrible news, since they were clearly Siffrin's friend too, and invite Loop along to travel at least long enough to (let them grieve) get the burial over with. Loop, here, can be helpful in knowing what Siffrin would've wanted where the party would be at a loss. Loop, I think, takes a bit of a lead on the funerary aspects of it all, because, um. (Performing rites on your own body, huh?)
Then, as things are after a death, life just… Kind of has to continue on as normal. The party travel, pick up Nille, and get to know Loop as this mysterious new person. Maybe in this situation they might stay in Bambouche for a while to give Bonnie more stability since. They are probably taking it the worst. It would've come out of absolutely nowhere for everyone in the party obviously but god, for a kid? For A Kid?
It should be stated NoHats is not intended to be grimdark, just y'know. An exploration of grief. This is also why it's got a bit of a lopsided focus on Bonnie vs the rest of the party because hhrrhghghhghghhhghhghhh <- incoherent
Now, a crossroads.
How does the party discover Loop to be Siffrin? How long does it take. How much have the party embraced them as part of the family (especially with something as intense to bond over as this)?
There's the Odile option. Have her put it together and have to bring it up somehow. This could also be done by Isabeau, perhaps. He's smart. (which. God. If anything's the real Isabeau Torment Nexus it's this)
Then there's the other option batted around by Sam and I. The: The Universe Dislikes Duplicates option.
The items in the house that fzzt away when inspected. The Universe doesn't like there to be two of something, at least not when they're acknowledged. But one of something is just fine…?
Which is to say. I'm not a personal proponent of 'Loop getting their body back'. EXCEPT …… except this one time.
There's only one Siffrin now, so they don't need to be obfuscated to exist.
Consider, if you will. Loop swallowing their guilt for long enough to be comfortable. Falling back into old habits. Without another Siffrin around to compete for the niche of, they actually begin to act like Siffrin again. Not intentionally, it's just… The party is as welcoming as they've always been. And the party swears they keep catching glimpses of a face under all the light.
Then, one day, while still not fully human again, the resemblence becomes undeniable. Loop having not even noticed until everyone looks at them like they've seen a ghost.
Has it been months? How long have they kept up this lie? Is it even a lie, to them? They're Loop. But they were, once, Siffrin.
Even after explaining it, does that make it better or worse?
Bonnie cuts through the betrayed, struck-nerve reactions with a sobering "I missed you."
… Anyway !
Yeah so that's the vibe for NoHats. As for LoopLoops? That's more nebulous. I think it can go anywhere really in the NoHats timeline. I err personally toward the "Loop continuously replays the last 10 minutes before Siffrin's death almost immediately after they find out and have to parkour their ass up the House in the most distressing situation possible to try and get them to hold on, just please hold on." (Remember! Siffrin can remember the contents of Loop's loop backs in the A6 fight!)
But there is the possibility that this happens months, or worse years down the road. One last Loop back. Throw it all away for the chance to just get that one thing you didn't know you even wanted but now know you NEED.
Misc:
Okay miscellaneous time.
This is where I admit that I have a bunch of unfinished NoHats art that I haven't gotten around to yet because I feel like a right tool being so obviously Loop-Centric with my fancontent (I AM . . I REALISE I AM NOT DOING MUCH TO BEAT THE ALLEGATIONS.) So like if people want to see that please say because euaghghghhfh <- the nervous.
this is like the most fucked up place to do isaloop fr. anyway.
one of Sam's mid-game observations that I'm just going to share for no particular reason is that Bonnie's hair shares a bunch of shapes with Siffrin's. The flick up at the top, the 3 pronged shape of the fringe… just something to think about.
Without 2 Siffrins around to compare each other to it'd likely be a lot harder to notice Loop's similarities. Doesn't mean that those similarities don't sting more in this context though.
If you do NoHats without LoopLoops. The concept of this all fading into memory years down the line while they just have slightly-glowy but otherwise regular Siffrin hanging out is fucked up to think about. Just like real grief. Augh

Probably not gonna match with when this comes out translated, but still—just a few things I liked about BNHA 423
Tumblr media
WE GOT TO SEE THE VESTIGES AGAAAAINNNNN!!! HI BRUCE!
I think Bruce gets a lot of bad angles. This is an example (but it's okay honey, you're still hot stuff)
Unfortunately, I have a favorite. It's Bruce. The most Normal Guy™ in the vestige line up. And the special-est sopping wet cat for Kudo ever (Yoichi is a dry cat because at least Kudo remembered to take Yoichi inside).
The vestiges were all gearing for a punch, but Tomura/Tenko is reaching out.
The rest of the users usually use OFA to punch, is the general idea we see. But Tomura/Tenko's Quirk isn't that.
Tomura/Tenko reaching his hand out to grab, and the vestiges readying a punch—it's their ways of putting the hurt on.
And Tomura/Tenko knows what happens if he puts his fingers on someone. He was aiming for AFO's head too. Guy was pissed.
I like that the vestiges look like they're crawling out of hell (or the depths) here. Technically for OFA itself, which they embody, being in AFO's realm was hell. It meant they failed their collective goals to win against AFO, and keep OFA [Yoichi] out of his possession
Also, they're all embers of who they once were. If Factors embodied their personalities, these embers are the leftovers of that embodiment. Their eyes are blank.
And even when they're only shattered fragments of themselves, they came for AFO to take him down.
They really embodied that purpose. Even as husks of themselves, or sad leftovers that scattered from their destroyed Factors, they still reached forward to clock AFO one last time.
They were that determined, and that determination was all that was left of them.
Meanwhile, with Yoichi, his itty bitty remains continued trying to talk sense into his brother till the end.
Yoichi has such a bleeding heart. But he also loved his brother.
Tumblr media
AFO is standing in the dark. But in that dark, there's a light. It's Yoichi, as if he were the light at the end of the tunnel.
AFO chased OFA for decades, and ruined a lot of lives, just to have Yoichi by his side again.
Joining hands with Garaki; killing Banjo, En, Nana; forcing the creation and upbringing of Tenko; the whole Shimura incident; everything he did to UA and the Aoyamas to get close to the wielder of OFA [Yoichi]. He did all that, and more.
He just wanted the chance to have Yoichi with him again. That was his purpose in obtaining OFA this whole time.
Tumblr media
Yoichi was AFO's light at the end of the tunnel.
Too bad for AFO, the light at the end of the tunnel was an oncoming train.
Yoichi is telling AFO what happened, but I love that in front of Yoichi, AFO became himself. I mean, not a mass of scar tissue, but who he originally looked like
Idk, there's just something symbolic about it?
Tumblr media
Midoriya calls AFO a lonely man. And Yoichi comes to him, and AFO says he wants Yoichi by his side. He wouldn't be lonely if that were the case. Yoichi could make him not lonely anymore.
And the lonely man, a bundle of scar tissue from his warpath to see Yoichi again, reverts to a time he had no injuries or scars. He looks like the period of time where he and Yoichi lived in the same era.
In front of Yoichi, he's just.. himself, I guess is how to put it. Not a mass of scar tissue, or the evil villain everyone feared: he's literally just Yoichi's "Nii-san".
It's like, the scar tissue shed itself to reveal AFO's true face.
He wants to see Yoichi's face, and ended up showing his own without even meaning or thinking to.
He's finally looking straight at Yoichi, trying to see his face. It's not like when Yoichi was alive, when AFO always looked down on him, and just waited for him to bend to his will.
Now, AFO has little time left with Yoichi, and he's lost his composure for it, wanting to see Yoichi as more than an ember. But maybe he got to the point he only ever saw Yoichi for his Factor, rather than the Factor for Yoichi: how often has he said he was chasing One For All, instead of his younger brother?
AFO wanted to see Yoichi's face, but when he saw Yoichi next to Kudo... yeah, he lost his mind a bit there. Probably (Definitely?) because he saw Kudo's Ability, and Kudo with Yoichi. And Kudo is "to blame for everything".
Tumblr media
Maybe he lost it seeing Kudo and Yoichi together, because it was a repeat of the past, I suppose?
(Technically, he did see Yoichi's face one last time already. Just that he also saw the bastard Kudo's face again too. And AFO did not like that.)
