Got tagged by @ultkyu to answer some questions! Thank you dear, I'm so excited for this~🥺💞

1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?

× I'd be a cat, 100%. Cats are my love and my life, I've always wanted to be one, tbh (not in a furry type of way, but I feel like life would be easier if I was a cat, lmao). I love how cats take no shit and do whatever they want. They're very independent and individual and I'm all here for that.

2. What two anime characters or kpop idols are your type?

× Can I do both anime characters and kpop idols??

× As for anime characters, Jaeha from Akatsuki no Yona and Kirito from Sword Art Online are totally my type!!😍

× And in terms of kpop idols... omg,, how am I supposed to *only* name two?? Hmm, thinking about it, I guess not all of my biases are my "type" per se... but there's two that come to mind right now hhhh. One of them is Kevin Moon from The Boyz, he really ticks off (almost) every bullet point in my list for my "ideal type" and honestly, this list is freaking contradictory and has vvv high standards but Kevin is THAT boi, basically my imaginative ideal boyfriend personified. :') And the second one who I'd say is totally my type is Hwang Hyunjin from Stray Kids. I've always loved drawing him the most of all kpop idols and I still do tbh (but I can't fill my feed on my insta art account with JUST Hyunjin drawings,, you know,,,). His fashion!! I'm so here for it and vibe with it so well. Plus,,,idk,,, I feel like I could connect to him in some ways so ajxjsjdjjs yeah. There's just something about him and Kevin that inspires me so much, I really love these two bois.

3. Are there any writers or artists (art or music) that inspire you? If so, list 5.

× YES. I decided to name a few artists because I realize I've never talked about the artists whose artworks inspire me the most. They're all on Instagram, so I'll be naming their @'s

a.) @/shooky_dough: I'm probably not the only one who knows Nikki, hehe, but her art is SO amazing. She's got this really distinct style which I'd put into the category of semirealism. Her kpop fanart is soooo good and I used her tutorials to learn how to get better at sketching. If you look at the sketches I've been posting for the past few months on my insta art account, you'll notice that they're highly inspires by Nikki's art. She's definitely the artist I'm looking at most in terms of inspiration and improving on my own art.^-^

b.) @/angelganev: His art is sooo pretty. He does semirealism and I've found him by browsing through pinterest to find some art inspiration/references/tutorials. He also does drawing contests in which his followers can draw one of his work he selects in their own style and he gives a shout out to the ones he liked best. It's always interesting!!

c.) @/melmadedooks: This man can draw about ANYTHING, he's so talented. He used to draw lots of his 'dooks' and I've found him through seeing some of his works on pinterest (again, lol). I've actually redrawn two of his 'dooks' and posted them to my art account AND HE LIKED BOTH OF THEM, I WAS SO HAPPY OMG!!! He used to draw his dooks using only one coloured pencil, so I've also started experimenting with that and instead of using a graphite pencil, I used coloured pencils for my sketches and those gave off very different vibes that I really liked!!

d.) @/rezajeez: Probably *the* kpop fanartist I've been following for the longest of times. They are AMAZING!! They mainly do huge photorealistic portraits with INSANE details. It's funny actually, because their work is the complete opposite to shooky_dough's work. While Reza draws photorealism on a big surface (probably A3? maybe more??) and draws very detailed, Nikki focuses more on sketches/more semirealistic and "simplistic" art and it's usually drawn quite small, so seeing these opposites really broadens my horizon, I think^^

e.) Last but nor least, @/rossdraws: In my opinion, he's the modern day Bob Ross! His art is so freaking stunning, have you checked out his digital art landscape series?? The amount of talent this man holds in his pinky finger is more than I've got in my whole body like- OOF a huge inspiration to me!!~

4. If you could play any instrument, which would you play?

× The guitar!! I really want to learn how to play it~

5. If you could choose one anime to live in, which one would you choose and why?

× Either Ouran High School Host Club or Your Lie In April. The first one is just so much fun and I'd love hanging out with the host club members and as for the latter,,, I just really want to be here for Kousei and help him through his anxiety because I know so well how it feels like and I also wish I could sing while he plays the piano, we'd be a great duo✊🏻😔 (I'm sorry, I couldn't choose one)

6. This is a bit of an old DeviantArt fic trend, but if you received an Android of your favourite character from any anime/show/etc., who would it be?

× Hmmm... that's a great question omg there's so many amazing choices I could make😭😭 But I think I'd go with Kirito, I just really really love him ahhhhh

7. Is there anything you would like to do but haven't because your friends/family didn't want to do it with you?

× There's actually a few things I could name... first, I really want to go bungee jumping (preferably from the Macau Tower, as it's the highest bungee jump in the world😍) but my fam and friends think I'm crazy for wanting to do this but I'm actually quite an adventurous person which probably not many people know about me, so I love doing stuff like that.✊🏻😂

× I would also really like to travel with friends... it's not that I dislike travelling with my mom and stepdad but whenever I can't take someone with me, I feel like such a child ??? idk,, never travelling (I wanted to say "without adults" but then I realized I AM an adult) on my own with friends and always tagging along with my parents kind of make me feel like I'm not independent or mature/grown-up for it. But I feel like none of my friends want to travel with me... most of them have a travel buddy already but I just... don't akdjsjs

× and last but not least, getting more specific, I really want to travel to Hawaii and South Korea, but so far, I haven't made it there yet :c

× Cherry Blossoms all the way💞 but all flowers are beautiful and I really like roses, too.

9. What are some of your hobbies?

× My hobbies include singing, drawing, dancing, writing, reading, researching astrology, studying Korean, watching youtube videos/netflix, listening to music and OF COURSE DAYDREAMING✊🏻😔

10. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island with nothing but the clothes on your back and a bag, what would you put in the bag?

× I'd definitely put food and water in the bag, my phone, earphones, a portable solar charger with a USB cable (so that my phone won't die and I could chill for however long I want while watching kpop mv's and then also use my phone to call for someone to rescue me from this island once I start running low on resources), all the books I still want to read, my art supplies and a few sketch books, some towels that I could use to lay on or use as blankets, a pillow and my teddy bear, and obviously a toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush and a few hair ties and bobby pins (you don't want long sweaty hair stuck to your skin during a hot summer ewww), some soap to wash myself and my clothes, sunscreen and also some insect spray to keep the bugs away!! (it's a big bag, okay)

Spotify, SoundCloud, or Pandora? - Spotify! all the way. i hoarse my bf’s account so he can never listen but i don’t care it’s mine now it’s full of my music and my playlists and whenever i’m listening to it and it suddenly changes cause he tries to use it on his phone I call him, “are you using spotify?” “oh. i mean i can listen to something else?” “cool, thanks!” and i get my music back. :D

is your room messy or clean? - it’s somewhere in between. my actual ROOM (bed room, i assume) is pretty clean, except i never make the bed. but the house is .. a work in progress. it’s not dirty but it’s cluttered so my bf and I are having to work together to clear that and build shelves and stuff for more storage space.

what color are your eyes? - dark brown! (with little green flecks when I cry)

do you like your name? why? - Not really? i don’t hate it. My mom wanted to name me Savannah but they had her sign the certificate while she was still drugged from her c-section so it ended up as Crystal?? Idk. She named her dolls Crystal when she was a kid.

Digimon Adventure Tri Stage Play Reaction

Guys, this is not an analysis: this is my feels and obnoxious comments while viewing the stage play. My initial goal was to use these notes to make an analysis, but they’re too funny/stupid/wow to hide from the world. I typed these notes in real time, stopping the play whenever I had a thought. It’s the closest I can get to having you watch me watch the stage play without using videos. I will write an actual meaningful post soon, but for now, have a confused and jumpy/unpolished blob of feels.

The other thing I want to say is that I didn’t edit this after I wrote it, except for surface editing (grammar, spelling) and clarifications (mostly adding more names). So if I formed an impression at some point, that’s what I really thought in that moment; I didn’t go back and change it.

That said: this will completely and totally spoil the stage play. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS! Read on below the cut (if you dare; it’s almost 4K words long and full of images).

I am immediately not buying that Mimi wouldn't want to camp in the bungalow. Isn't this the kid that went to Tokyo Tower instead of patrolling Tokyo because the tower has AC? I guarantee she'd whine an hour in about wanting the bungalow, but wouldn't allow Koushiro to point out that she made this choice for all of them x__x

Did Mimi just... just throw the laptop? How bratty can you get? I... wow, I really hope they don’t treat my Mimi so poorly the whole play.

From Sora's speech, I can see that nostalgia will be a major theme here, which, to be fair, is appropriate, lol! Nostalgia is pretty much why we’re here.

TAICHI! It’s so good to see you get your big bro on again, lol??? Hikari: "I'm not a kid who needs to wait for you to walk home with me."

Taichi: "What? Why not? WHAT'S WRONG?! CONFIDE IN ME!" He’s so aggressive and clumsy about it, lol??

Taichi: "WHO ARE YOU CALLING A STUBBORN BLOCKHEAD."

Jyou, amiably: "You, of course! Wait-" I'm like 15 minutes in and I have already decided that Jyou is my favorite (not surprising lol).

Jyou: "YOU ARE IN DANGER, TAICHI. I HAVE NEVER SEEN YOU STUDY." Oh lord, Jyou is bashing Taichi with the stone of foreboding. Is Jyou okay? Is he quite sane? He isn't, is he. Do you see that gleam in his eye? No, no. He is gone and gone indeed. Jyou’s actor is A+++

Annnnnnd oh hey, it's Yamyams doin' jamjams! I can dig that bass, is he actually playing? Oh hey, he's gonna sing for real, he's- Oh my god, stop! ABORT! He's terrible, hahahaha?!?!?! IT BURRRRNSSS!!!

OH MY GOD HIS BAND HATES THE BAND NAME AND THEY'RE SPEAKING TO HIM IN FRENCH WHAT IS THIS

Wait wow what is this weird ass vibe between the bros? Teeks is accusing Yams of not visiting... Did Yamato have that habit to start with? Hmm...

So Takeru says, "I don't want to see us go our different ways." I've mentioned it over and over, but this feeling is so important to me. It's something I want to write an entire fic around. On the one hand, it's such an easy topic, given the subject material. On the other, it's where my brain keeps going. So... Let's see what happens!

Also: Takeru: "Stay hidden, Patamon!" *puts Patamon on his head and skips offstage* Takeru, sigh...

OH SHIT IT'S ETEMON, saying Taichiiiiihehehehe like a creep ass creeper. He done got beef, too.

Annnnd we cut to everyone reacting because Mimi has no supplies (did you all not bring any?). What I like here, though, is that Jyou can at least talk to her without getting shut down. Poor Kou-chan -__-

Koushiro: "We're amateurs, is there anything we should watch out for?" OH I DUNNO, MAYBE ETEMON IN A HAT AND A VEST god damn I know this is supposed to be funny, but they all look like idiots-

Koushiro: "That old man had a feminine way of speaking" Says the dude being portrayed by a male actor FOR THE FIRST TIME-

Koushiro: "Taichi-san, you're the closest thing to a caveman we have-" Ah, bless.

(At this point, my husband is pointing out while playing Destiny that the puppeteers do really good digimon voices, and I'm explaining that the digimon voices are pre-recorded, lol).

ANNNNND Mimi is whining for supplies that she forbade people to bring. I am shocked.

Jyou is talking about how he wants to help digimon by being a doctor, by saving and protecting, and my heart is growing three sizes. Best Chosen, y'all.

But oof, the atmosphere got so heavy... Why do these kids refuse to talk about what they want to do??? Jyou remains refreshing. Also, I'm just noticing how Koushiro turns his entire body around every single time towards whoever is talking? He leans in, too. It's both cute and unexpected (I would expect much more reserved body language, but I get that this is a play and that's what you do).

HAH! Only Jyou can see the shooting star because he's the only one with his shit together! I love that, lol! (Also, is that really Tailmon's voice actress? Hmm...)

NO, ETEMON HAS KOU-CHAN, BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH although really it's painful that we're still pretending they can't recognize Etemon.

Koushiro can't read the room... Well, at least that's familiar, lol!

(At this point, my husband is asking what I think, and I'm stuttering over how annoyed I am at the ‘not-recognizing-Etemon’ gag. My husband is laughing at me and saying I'm at a loss for words. Thanks, love.)

HOLY SHIT did Hikari and Mimi just use the tired "scary stories" trope to bring up the Dark Ocean? I'll give 'em points for that. I AM INTRIGUED, let's go!!! Oh. Oh, they broke it off. They're not doing anything with it. That's... sigh. Thanks, guys. (Caterpillar Sleeping Bag Mimi is cute AF tho).

Hmm, right now I'm thinking that Mimi's actress is so lovely and so lively and really feels like Mimi, but... I also can't stand how they wrote her so far. Throwing Koushiro's computer, talking over him, not allowing him to point out when she's contradicting herself, immediately requesting the supplies she forbade people to bring... This stuff annoyed me in Adventure, but she was 10 and in a situation I would have strongly struggled to handle. But now she's literally... Making problems for everyone... For nostalgia's sake... At age 16? I'm so torn, lol, because the acting is so good but ahhhhh... Let's see how this develops...

Hmm hmm, I'm listening to Sora talk about how she doesn't wanna grow up, either... Darling, you're already quite grown up, lol! Lovely lady. I love how the digimon puppeteers echo their puppets, I can't get enough of watching Agumon's puppet and performer while Sora speaks. They really did a great job!

I think I'm about an hour into this, maybe a little less? 45 minutes? So far all that's really happened is that we've established that the characters want to be together as Chosen Children, and that with the exception of Jyou, they aren't emotionally or mentally prepared to seriously think of a future beyond that. I'll be the first to say that this a compelling and interesting topic, and it's something I've wondered about for them, but... Shouldn't... more things... have happened by now? Hmm... I understood that this would be an issue from Sora's very first bit of dialogue. No one in the audience needs this much expansion and repetition, particularly with so few new ideas and so little momentum so far. Tri is intended as a love letter for fans of Adventure, yes? Mostly adult fans? We don’t need this much repetition to understand, we truly don’t...

Ah! Now Yamato is talking about Jyou and how to become an adult, finally dropping some new ideas in. Love ya, Yams. And ahh, man, Taichi is just... screaming all of his lines? The actor is so sweet and cute, but the delivery... I'm pretty sure it's supposed to reflect that Taichi is putting up fronts like nobody's bidness, though. Yamato ain't buyin' it (Yamato is Almost Best). I really want him to grunt, "Tell the truth or shut up." XD XD GRUNT GRUNT.

Augh, god, I can't take this tho? Literally EVERY TIME someone tries to say something that will move the plot forward or inject some vulnerability into this play (except for Papa Jyou), they change the subject. I'm about halfway through now and this has to be at least the 10th time we've been blocked from useful information and deeper thoughts with this method. Tri suffers from this same issue, though... Their plot is such that they can’t sustain tension if issues are faced in a natural way, so they CHANGE THE SUBJECT or DROP A LEAD or IGNORE A LEAD, etc, etc. Here it's mostly saying, "Well what about you?" or screaming someone else's name, which... Subtle??? Ah, Taichi's latest method of not saying anything is to ask Yamato to play his harmonica... Oh my god, he's playing Walk on the Edge! Okay, okay, you got me, stage play. Hahaha, I remember Yams being better at playing a harmonica, tho!!!! (I keep picking on this poor dude who is asked to do all of the awesome shit Yams can do, sorry my dude).

Taichi: Should we sleep?

Yamato: Let's talk some more.

Taichi: (shit! fuck! He remembered I'm dodging-) YES BECAUSE HE ISN'T AN IDIOT EXCEPT WHEN ETEMON IS ONSTAGE OMG SOMEONE HELP ME-

Ahhh, and they fade out... With no forward movement. THANKS. I mean we established mood, touched on Taichi/Yamato’s relationship, and set up the problems that will be address later (I assume), but... It’s so drawn out...

And now Koushiro is drawing on the ground with a stick, bless you, are you trying to compute something? Sigh... Ah, bless, Tentomon is intervening, haha!

But... As right as Ten-chan is, he's also... Wrong? XD DON'T TELL YOUR FORWARD MOVEMENT MACHINE TO POWER DOWN!!! Annnnd yes! We're an hour in and SOMETHING IS HAPPENING! I am so ready for something to happen. (Tony: "Can we handle the stimulation, though?")

Oh god, the kids freaking out over their partners acting weird, Gabumon's stage hand collapsing... God, right in the feels, I'm almost mad about how easy it is to get an emotional response this way, lol! We just love our babies too much, lol!

Wow, Yamato lost it at Kou-chan... You know, we think of Taichi as carrying a lot of pressure (and rightfully so), but Koushiro carries just as much, as we saw in Kokuhaku. He's not magic, Yams, he needs his tools, and he doesn't have 'em. Related: Although I don't much care for how it happened, I definitely would love to read/write/see a story where Koushiro has no computer and has to adapt, though. I'd also love to see one where a new tech wizard appears and he questions his role, but that's a whole' nother thing.

EWW OH MY GOD DON'T UNDRESS ETEMON MIMI WHAT THE HELL, bleeeeehhhhhhh... Oh god, he thought his outfit was obvious... Well, you see Etemon, somewhere in the last 6 years, the kids completely lost their ability to read situations x__x (I get that this is a joke, I really do? But???)

Oh huh, so they're claiming Etemon wandered the Dark Ocean for 100 years? Didn't he... Come back in Adventure as MetalEtemon? Is he referencing his second defeat? ?????

OH GOD POWER RANGER ETEMON WHAT IS HAPPENING. Haha it's kind of cute that he's like, "Eh I don't know these two (Hikari and Tailmon). I don't think Metaletemon saw them? But honestly I don't remember. I think he was around Jyou and Mimi mostly?

Wait shit are we seriously doing the actual conflict part WITHOUT JYOU AND GOMAMON? I am so mad right now. I kind of feel like they'll burst in at some point??? I hope...

(My husband has informed me that I'm growling. He tells me that, when we were watching Gravity Falls and Mabel tries to tempt Dipper and the others to stay in the perfect imaginary world Bill made for her, I said, "What is she, Satan? Tempting them to stay here in comfort instead of facing danger to save everyone?" This is a similar scenario, and it's one of the few things I didn't like about Gravity Falls and OH NO, TAICHI IS THE MABEL OF THIS SITUATION, HELP!!!! Oh thank goodness, Taichi's done with this too, whew, okay, okay, breathe, stop growling).

Oh God, the Agumon puppet looks dead without the puppeteer, that's actually really awful? These puppets are amazing, guys. I cannot say enough good stuff about the execution with these puppets.

Hmm, Taichi just begged for mercy, and Etemon is unimpressed... Reminds me of the fandom after Saikai. I wonder where they'll take this...

HOLY SHIT Taichi is losing his shit! I won't say that all of that stammering and dodging earlier is accounted for here, since most of the characters did it to some degree, but it's nice to see the payoff within the same piece (instead of waiting months for the next Tri film and forming your own conclusions in that time period). I'm actually happy to see a screaming breakdown like this...

Man Koushiro speaks SO QUICKLY, dude, slow it down!!! Ahhh, he says that we're granted whatever we want here, so Etemon is probably trying to trick us by having us hear Jyou. SOMEONE IS THINKING USING THEIR BRAINSSS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!

JYOU IS HEREEEE TO SAVE THE DAAAAAAYYY THE NEW DIGI JESUS, JYOUUUUUU!!! (And while I 100% agree that you should be cautious, Kou-chan, c'mon, he arrived saying that you made his phone go off on the train and it made him feel awkward, that's pretty much proof that it's Jyou, lol!). OH AND NOW KOU AND YAMS ARE ROASTING JYOU, classic.

Koushiro finally takes a stab directly at the heart of this... It's not even about being children and avoiding adulthood; it's about not wanting to leave August 1st. I realize exposition is Kou's job, but I didn't expect him to be the one to lay it out after all of this dodging. I’ll be honest, I’m so pleased with Koushiro in this stage play so far? I love how he moves, I love how quickly he speaks, I love that he’s able to come out and say this. I wasn’t into the way the play used him spouting off numbers to indicate intelligence, but that’s a nitpick compared to the ground they gave Koushiro here.

JYOU. JYOU. EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, KOUSHIRO, I BELIEVE IN YOU. He continues to be THE BEST, I am in awe, I bow before Jyou.

Okay so now Taichi is freaking out and Koushiro is trying to talk to him (roughly 70% of this stage play is someone trying and failing to talk to someone else). But I really like what Taichi says here- "I have nothing to hesitate about." We all know this isn't true; Taichi is hesitating all over the place right now. Let's see where this goes! (Please let it go somewhere this time, lord above). WAIT- WAIT- ARE YOU SHOWING ME KOUSHIRO POINTING FINGERS AT TAICHI'S BULLSHIT AND SAYING "I'VE BEEN BY YOUR SIDE FOR SIX YEARS!!" AND THEN CUTTING AWAY?!?!??!?!?!?!? RAAAAAAAHHHH is this an aneurysm? I think this is what an aneurysm feels like. You can't drop lines that good and then CUT AWAY FROM IT GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN-

Mimi saying "I want to do SO many things!" is refreshing my soul. I know she's one of the most shippable Chosen, but honestly, if not for the fact that she has a kid that is clearly biologically hers, I would assume that she's too busy doing EVERYTHING to have a family. My headache recedes just a touch.

Hmm... I actually really like what Sulky (Yams) is trying to say here. "I don't want to be with everyone because I'm Chosen. I want to be with Gabumon because he's my friend," basically. Part of me sides with Jyou- dude we all get that, it's not a shameful secret- but another part of me... Deeply appreciates that Yams can separate his duty as a Chosen from his bond with his digimon. Gabumon is his best friend, his number one. It doesn't matter if Gabumon can't fight, if Yamato can never digivolve him again. It doesn't even matter that he's a digimon. It just matters that they're friends, and that they be together somehow, which may seem a more tenuous position by the day. ...Now I'm sad. Well played, stage play. This moment is wonderful.

...Annnnnnd now Yamato is overacting to hell, and I'm laughing instead of thinking and feeling, was that supposed to happen? Sigh. I still don't understand why he has to be SO SECRETIVE about it, but I mean... That's our Yams???

And now we're back to Kou and Taichi, and they're pulling at each other's throats, as they will, and honestly this is the only "NOW KISS" moment for me, but where was I-

In all seriousness, I really like that the person to finally, FINALLY get the truth from Taichi is Koushiro. That's how it often was in Adventure too, yes? But I almost feel like Taichi's breakdown here is a reflection of what fans said in Saikai. Taichi in Adventure always took action (although he grew so much during Adventure, I'd argue the version of himself he's referencing now wasn't there by the end of Adventure?). He can't fight in Saikai because he's concerned about hurting people/property/the tenuous relationship between humans and digimon. He can't take action... But the ability to see that is an indication of growth, not regression. Will he understand that here?

Ok god, Agu-chan is dropping some truth bombs... And the way he and his puppeteer crawl... I swear these goddamm puppets will be the death of me.

Agu-chan, can you do me a solid and STAMP THIS ALL OVER EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE KIDS PLEASE AND THANK YOU?!

HOLY SHIT IS THAT A METALGRAYMON PUPPET?! THEY HAD THAT SHIT ALL ALONG AND THEY BRING IT OUT WITH 20 MINUTES LEFT?! WHAT WOT WOOOOT?!??! I cannot believe I'm seeing this. And I love how heavy and cumbersome the huge puppet feels. Like, I always felt like Metalgreymon would be huge and slow, right?

WAIT he is admitting that he was Metaletemon previously. So... when... exactly did he fall into the Dark Ocean? Sigh. This is one of those "Let it go, Hidden" things, isn't it. Uh, wow, I am totally unfamiliar with Kingetemon. That's... a... thing.

The use of screens and images in the stage play are really fun! It must have been awesome to see this show in person O__o;;

HOLY SHIT JYOU'S "A" ON HIS MOCK TEST WASN'T REAL okay this is also a Good Joke, I applaud. Also I am LOVING sassy Koushiro in this? His way of being sassy is to do it in a way where you're not quite sure if he is trying to be a butt or not, which is 10000000% yes lol (In contrast, Izzy is intentionally awful usually lol).

Annnnd I was right from the start; Jyou is carrying this entire thing, lol. Oh my god, the delivery on this?!?!??! AMAZING.

THIS. LITTLE. SHIT. I love him? I... I love him. The snark is strong in this one. I... he is so... so beautiful. I... I think I might be in love? (This at least indicates that I wasn’t alone in thinking the computer toss was too much???).

AHHHHH OKAY OKAY I have no idea how I’m going to analyze this. My surface thought is that this play features a lot of the emotions and inner thoughts of individual characters that can’t fit into Tri, and that (I personally think) Tri suffers from a lack of. Because there isn’t really ship bait and maneuvering around a new character and plot, we’re able to see relationships that feel much more familiar to Adventure than we often see in Tri (ie, Taichi worried about Hikari, Koushiro worried about Taichi, etc). As you noticed, I’m very unhappy with the way the play pushes the payoff back as far as possible, cramming it into an AMAZING twenty minutes or so... But I loved those twenty minutes.

Also, Koushiro feels waaaay more like Koushiro than he does in Tri, except for Kokuhaku. As your local insane Koushiro fan girl, I am standing and applauding and screaming and crying. NO PERVY KOUSHIRO. NO FASHION DISASTERS. Just Koushiro being supportive and apt and sweet and trying so hard. I am refreshed. I am younger.

And the passion and love and energy that went into us, so visibly in human form... I can’t describe how wonderful the actors and the puppeteers were. And even though I kind of hated Etemon, his actor was incredible.

So the stage play has amazing points and really irritating points, but on the whole, it’s my second favorite thing Tri has given us (following Kokuhaku). I will try to write about it more smart-like soon! If you got this far... I’m in awe, lol! High five, my friend!

Friends: Slytherin!Y/N x Hufflepuff!Luke

A/N: Lol if you’ve read this before it’s because I just moved shop, so I’m reposting it. Leave me an ask if you want another story in this same vein, or any other ideas you lie. Thanks!

Her back slammed into the wall, breath escaping Y/N in pants. Who knew that helping out others could have such interesting consequences.

As a Slytherin, Y/N had easily learned to keep her friends close and her enemies closer. This had, unfortunately, given other Snakes in her year the impression that she would much rather be a Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. That wasn’t true. She had known from the moment she learned about the four houses which one Y/N would be in. Just like usual, she’d had her entire life mapped out. If it wasn’t Slytherin, it would’ve been Ravenclaw, but there was no chance of that. She was cunning, manipulative, and driven. But to her friends, she was incredibly loyal.

Which was how she had gotten into her current predicament.

There were some Slytherins in her class who had heard the rumors about her, that she didn’t want to be in their house, and had iced her out. Other Slytherins had seen her flashbang reaction to those rumors, which was to be as rude and smug to anyone else in a different house, and assumed her a giant bitch. It probably didn’t help that she was friends with some of the worse people in their year, but they shared Y/N’s dark sense of humor, and were all really quite harmless.

But the damage was done, and she quickly learned to be as cold and ruthless as possible. By fifth year she had become accustomed to cursing out Year Sixes, glaring at Year Threes, and fully accepting her role as school bitch. This, of course, had created a bit of a problem. No seats. Y/N glanced around the Ancient Runes class again, hoping a Slytherin that didn’t hate her would pop up from behind a book, but no such luck.

As Professor Babbling glided into the classroom, Y/N quickly sunk into the nearest seat. The Hufflepuff looked up at her in a mix of chagrin and timidness, but she just cracked her neck and removed a quill and some ink from her bookbag. At least he hadn’t started crying. Yet.

Throughout the first half of the year, Luke didn’t cry once. It took a few weeks for him to notice Y/N’s antics in class, adding a tasteful “That’s what she said,” under her breath during lecture, or doodling pictures of their classmates with bloated noses and ears, but he eventually starting noticing, and then started laughing, one time so hard that Y/N had to cast a silent Invisibility charm on her paper as Babbling stalked back to see what was wrong. She simply put on an aloof air, and Babbling said nothing to her as she scolded Luke.

The turning point in their relationship had been when Y/N glanced over at his paper to find an incredible sketch of her, each feature breathtakingly replicated, except for the ginormous chin, which easily took up half her face. Y/N had actually snorted, though she quickly turned it into a fake cough, and they had seen each other on a new level. She would often arrive five minutes before class, so that they could talk before class started.

Luke was a fifth year, like her, and had two older brothers, both who had graduated. One had been a Gryffindor and one a Hufflepuff, so he hadn’t been sure which house he’d be in. Now that he was a Hufflepuff, he tried to take the hardest and greatest amount of classes he could, an admirable trait, in order to ace his NEWTS and get a Ministry job. Just as she came to admire his sky blue eyes and breathtaking smile, she fell in love with his plan and his determination. In Y/N’s opinion, he should have been a Slytherin, or at least a Ravenclaw. At the same time, she could see his fierce loyalty and determination, traits she had begrudgingly come to recognize as Hufflepuff’s. He was shy, a bit awkward, and everything she previously had convinced base and uninteresting.

Yet, they became quick friends in the back of Ancient Runes, and if they were ever in the library or near the lake at the same time, they would stop and say hello. They had contests to see who could count down the representative numbers faster, flipped to random pages in Spellman’s Syllabary and guessed the meaning, and other nonsense that seemed pointless but kept inching Luke closer to her barriers. It didn’t hurt that his knee kept tracing against hers accidentally. When they accidentally brushed, there was a palpable shock, enough to make Y/N straighten in her seat and Luke blush. But the sudden skip in her heart, the desire to touch more than just accidentally, was hers alone. There was no way he felt the same about her, and that was clear,

The last Hogsmeade visit before the Christmas holiday, she strolled into Gladrag’s Wizardwear and picked him up a pair of screaming smelly socks, which shrieked whenever they were too dirty, and a couple of packets of Zonko’s sweets amongst her Christmas shopping for the rest of her friends. While her friend Nadia had gone to the restroom, Luke saw her in Three Broomsticks and had shared a butterbeer with her. He too had packages tucked into a little bag, though she thought he had come alone, and when their fingers brushed on the mug, he didn’t pull away, although his cheeks flushed. They stayed that way for a few minutes, knuckles kissing and knees brushing on the barstools, as her head found its way onto his shoulder, which only made Luke stiffen a little.

Y/N exhaled slightly, and Luke relaxed into the warmth of her breath. This was different. Though she kept her calm, internally Y/N’s mind began racing. This certainly didn’t feel like it was platonic. But before she could figure it out, Nadia returned. Y/N’s head flew up, and she let her hand drop back into her lap.

“Nadia, do you know Luke?” She stood up, trying to put more distance between herself and the situation. She wasn’t sure how Nadia would feel, much less how she felt, about her snuggling up to a Hufflepuff in public. Nadia just shook her head and extended a hand.

“You’re the Hufflepuff in Y/N’s Ancient Runes?” She vaguely remembered telling Nadia about him after one of the fifth years in their dormitory had snuck in some fire whiskey for a night in.

He looked shocked that Nadia knew who he was, and he blushed a little as he grabbed her hand and shook it, offering a “That’s me.” He hesitated for a moment longer before scooping up his discarded bags and slapping five sickles on the counter, enough to pay for all three of their drinks. He turned to go, but then dug in his bag and dredged something from the slew of presents and neatly wrapped parcels.

“In case I forget to give it to you in the last two classes before holiday,” he passed her the wrapped parcel, which made her cheeks flush for a change, and then headed off. She resigned not to open it until the last class of the semester, but perhaps-

“Would you like yours? It’s not wrapped, but if I forget…” He just grinned.

“Don’t forget then.” And Luke left Three Broomsticks, a bounce in his step. Y/N shot a nervous look at Nadia, but she just rolled her eyes.

“Of all the houses, you pick a bloody Hufflepuff? What happened to the cold-hearted girl I used to know?”

“I dunno. Maybe Luke will have some ideas on how you can impress Blaise though.” And with that they were back to normal, linking arms and strolling back to school, postulating about what the gift could be the whole way back.

It turned out to be a book on the qualifications and daily procedures of being an Auror, which Y/N thoroughly loved, as well as a gorgeous sketch of her, this time sans the overzealous chin. She brought both the package and her own, and they opened them together before Runes. And when the class ended, she stood and extended her arms. He wrapped his around her waist, and she took comfort in his smell. It felt strangely final, like when they came back everything would be different somehow.

“Have a great holiday Luke.”

“You too,” he said, and with one last smile she left the classroom.

When they returned, nothing changed like Y/N’s fears. At first. They sat together during class, and though they never saw each other outside of it, it was fine. Normal. Only, if there was one thing she had learned over the holidays, it was that she didn’t want everything to be normal between her and Luke. And now that Blaise had finally plucked up some courage, on the advice of Y/N, and asked out Nadia, she was faced with all the things she could have, if only Luke was a Slytherin or she was a little more daring. As Valentine’s Day came and went, she found herself withdrawing more and more, laughing a little less each day until they barely talked. Luke could sense it and had asked her more than once if something was wrong, but she couldn’t bring herself to say anything. If there was one area she lacked confidence in, it was romance.

And that had lead her to where she was today: spending the first day of Easter holiday locked in the library, studying. OWLs were rapidly approaching, and she was determined to succeed. According to Luke’s book, her heart skipped a beat when she thought about him still, she needed Exceeds Expectations on her Potions, Defense the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, and Charms OWLs, and two years down the road the NEWT scores to match. She wished she had kept up with Herbology, the book said it was highly recommended, but Y/N thought she could make up for it with Ancient Runes.

Just the thought of that class made her sick to her stomach. It was stupid and petty to draw away from Luke like this, and he was beginning to do the same right back to her. Though it was well-deserved, it still hurt. The other day she had asked him whether or not the socks were working out, and he had just offered her a shrug.

She put her head in her hands, knotting her fists into her hair. She had messed up. No longer able to concentrate, she swept the book into her bag, cast a small disillusionment charm on it, and stalked out of the library.

As she made her way back to the dungeon, she passed a little cluster of students. Then, with a double take, she realized they were clustered about Luke, who was on the floor.

“Speak of the devil herself!” Ernie MacMillan whispered, almost as though he didn’t want her to notice him. Too late. She strutted over, pushing her way through fourth years to face him..

“If you think I’m only as bad as the devil, you’re in for a nasty bit of a shock McMahon.” She tossed her head back, mask firmly secure and superiority complex fully in tact. His lip quivered a smidge, but he didn’t back down.

“If you weren’t all talk, maybe I’d believe you.” But he sounded unsure. She scoffed, and pretended to examine her nails.

“You don’t have something better to be doing? Some garbage to sort through determinedly; some tests to fail, even though you studied? Some drying paint to be loyal to?”

“You don’t have any babies to eat alive?”

“Nonsense, I’m looking at one right now.” The small crowd that had gathered whooped, and Ernie flushed.

He opened his mouth to say something else, but with a single flash of Y/N’s infamous eyes, it shut.

“Kindly get on with your life, then. This is interrupting my study time.” Y/N waved her hand dismissively, and after a minute of flapping his mouth like a fish, Ernie turned and left, along with the quickly dissolving crowd.

She turned to look at Luke, but saw that he had pulled himself off the ground and already run away. It only took a moment for her to sling her bookbag over her shoulder and follow him, heart thudding in time with her shoes on the pavement. She careened past a couple of first years, each of them stuck between looking horrified, as they usually did when she strutted past, or amused at the fact that she was racing down the corridor. Y/N paid it no mind. She continued running, desperately trying to figure out why Luke had run off like that.

Eventually she saw him peek out from behind a wall, and threw herself toward him, back slamming against the wall and panting. After a few moments of apprehensive silence, she spoke.

“A thanks would be nice. Why were you and MacMillan fighting in the first place?”

“You didn’t hear what he said?” Luke asked, still not meeting her eye.

“I know it was something about me, probably how much of a bitch I am. And you probably jumped to my defence, which is noble but pointless. Then he asked what you were going to do about it, shoved you to the floor, and that’s when I showed up?”

“Are you sure you’re not a Ravenclaw?”

“I’d rather float in a pool of money than a pool of books, but I did always say I could be one.” He chuckled, then sobered, turning to look down at her.

“Why have you been ignoring me? Did I do something wrong? And why help me now, when I clearly could have handled him?” She glanced away, hands knitting together.

“I knew you could handle him, but I was worried anyway.” She wants so badly to tell him why, to say “I was worried because I care,’ but she didn’t, just stared down at her intertwined hands.

“You haven’t answered my other two questions,” he said after a long pause, hand reaching out, almost as though to touch her, before it stilled and idly dropped back to his side. She chanced a glance upward. His eyes were rough-hewn tourmaline. They had once glinted, but now they looked dull and lifeless, like precious stones that had been sent through a wood chipper.

“And if I’m running away from the answers?” She wouldn’t meet his eyes, instead staring at the hand that had drifted away from her.

“Didn’t running away get us into this in the first place? Merlin’s beard, if you weren’t so concerned with your image we could be dating already-” Luke blushed furiously, but his eyes solidified, trademark determination shining through. Y/N waited for him to take it back but he didn’t just let it sit open in the air.

“Is that....? Do you actually like me?” He ran a hand through his hair, eyes now almost manic and aflame.

“Is that a real question? I thought you were supposed to be smart.” And he pulled her lips onto his, pushing her against the corridor wall for the world to see. But Y/N couldn’t give it a single thought.
