Vox: Save your little project or fight your greatest enemy. You can’t do both!
Alastor: I’m sorry… what did you just say?
Vox: You can’t do both?
Alastor: No! I mean the other thing.
Vox: Save the hotel or fight your greatest enemy?
Alastor: HA! You think you’re my greatest enemy?
Vox: Yes! You’re obsessed with me!
Alastor: HA! No I’m not.
Vox: Yes you are!
Alastor: No I’m not.
Vox: YES YOU ARE! Who else drives you to one up them the way I do?
Alastor: Lucifer.
Vox: No he doesn’t!
Alastor: Susan.
Vox: WHO?!
Alastor: Look my chum, I’d say I don’t currently have AN enemy. I am harassing a few different people.
Vox: What?!
Alastor: I like to fight around!
Vox: Okay okay, look. Im fine with you fighting other people if you wanna do that. But what we have is special. So when people ask you who’s your number one rival you say?!
Alastor: Susan.
Vox: NO! Are you seriously saying there is nothing- NOTHING special about our relationship?
Alastor, our aroace king: Woah! My dear, I don’t do “ships!”
Vox: What?
Alastor: As in “relationships”, there is no us.
Vox, immediately after Alastor leaves: *sobs and cuts his photo out of a group photo*

Yandere Alastor Headcannons
Tumblr media
Alastor considers his public persona important. This applies to how you view him, as well as how others would view your relationship. Therefore, he would not want to use direct approaches of intimidation to attain you, rather using more subtle suggestions to worm you into his arms. He would be livid with whoever shatters the illusion he has created for you, which would likely be a caring and attentive friend to lover. This wrath would also be turned on you if you attempted to be spiteful and ruin his public image in some way.
Part of this is that he is quite skilled at verbal manipulation. As a radio host, it should be no surprise that words are his greatest weapon. Whether he uses it to turn you against those in your life and isolate you or convince you to do things that ultimately benefit him, you would have to have an iron will to resist him.
When you inevitably do realize his true nature, he will be able to start being more direct behind closed doors, but even then he would rather not. A gentleman of his time, he prefers not to use aggressive methods with his lover, who he would like to view as dependent, elegant, and delicate. Rivals on the other hand are much less lucky.
On another note, Alastor seems like the kind of person to enjoy the chase just as much as the acquirement of his goal, if not more. Someone who is ultimately less powerful than him and does everything in their power to avoid being in a contract with him or under his thumb, only to be forced to do what he says after a long domino affect of bad happenings, would be the whirlwind “romance” of his dreams and your nightmares.
Along with the gentleman aspect, some more positive things about having Alastor as a partner is that he would willingly perform as the dutiful and romantic lover. There would be dates and gifts, both on a whim and on special holidays. As a gentleman of the 1920's, there is a certain elegance and class in the way he treats you. You're not his "ho" or "bitch."
As an asexual, he has zero interest in performing anything remotely sexual with you. The whole matter is undignified and dirty. As long as you never mention it he won’t either. But he may be willing to “relieve” any tension you have if you nag him enough and if he thinks it will make you more compliant to him. He would prefer to use his magic to do so though rather than do it himself.

My hazbin hotel ship opinions!
• staticradio: my favorite, my obsession, my life. It is very obvious in the show that Vox is obsessed with Alastor. The most common opinion in the community is that it’s one-sided, but I like to think Alastor pulled away because he was afraid of his reciprocated feelings towards Vox.
•radiorose: This is my second favorite Alastor ship. They are super cute and they’re quite perfect for eachother. I just enjoy their friendship too much to actively ship them.
•radioapple: I only understand this ship because it seems like they have existing tension, but otherwise I don’t enjoy it. Alastor and Lucifer’s relationship was never expanded on beyond their immediate rivalry. Maybe if season 2 gives them more interactions or a backstory I will be able to get behind this ship a little more, but I really can’t see this as anything more than a boring rivals to lovers trope.
•staticmoth: It’s okay, but I don’t see them as much more than a sexual relationship. I don’t think Valentino is capable of genuine love.
•polyvees: I see Velvette as more of a younger sister or daughter to the other vees. This is just my preference! I don’t think this ship is necessarily bad.
•bombsnake: I think they’re cute. Unfortunately I don’t think Cherri really has returned feelings for Pentious. Based on their interactions she just seems interested in experimenting sexually with him because of his anatomy. I could be wrong though, so I’m very open to this ship!
•Charlastor: I see Alastor as a father figure or older brother to Charlie. Especially after the Hell’s greatest dad song, I just can’t ever see them in a romantic situation. I am not against the ship, but I personally don’t like it.
•Chaggie: I have nothing bad to say about them! Their relationship is healthy and I think they’re perfect for eachother. I particularly enjoy the fact that Vaggie was an ex-exterminator because it truly promotes Charlie’s idea of redemption. I am going to be extremely upset if Vaggie gets redeemed and gets seperated from her gf.
•radiodust: most people who ship this probably still have the pilot in mind. They don’t interact a whole lot in the show, and I see this as more of a crackship than anything.
•huskerdust: It looks like they’re going to be getting a slow burn relationship and I’m so happy about that. I like to think that Husk is refusing Angel’s advances because he knows he’s only doing it because of hypersexuality at first. I’m 99% sure that is what is canon too. I want to see their relationship grow.
•radiohusk: I am sorry but I can’t get behind this whatsoever. Husk absolutely hates Al, and Al owns him. There is no equality in this relationship, and it would get toxic very quickly.
•radiomaid: I love their dynamic but only as friends. I know Nifty is an adult, but she acts so childish and Alastor still owns her. I don’t like the power imbalance and maturity gap.
•alastor/lilith: if the theory that Lilith owns Alastor is true, then I am interested to see if we get a backstory about them, or what they might’ve been doing for 7 years. As of now I am neutral.
•guitarspear: these two menaces belong together. It seems like Lute really cares about Adam too which is an added bonus.
•Adamsapple: definitely a crackship. I don’t know what to say other than I find it amusing.
•valdust: I despise this ship. There is a very abusive power, and it is proven that Anthony is nothing more than an object in Val’s eyes. There is no love here, just manipulation.
•royalhalo: cute, but even better if It’s poly with Vaggie. If emily becomes a fallen angel, Charlie could have two gfs and I stand behind that.
•lucilith: I hope they get back together. Lilith better have a good reason for leaving.
•Vaggie/Angeldust: most probably ship this because they were likely a longtime viv follower. I’m not against this ship necessarily, but I could never get behind it. Maybe I just adore chaggie and huskerdust too much.

FOOLISH ONE
— loving vox was bad for your health
— gn!reader, lazy fic im sorry, just feelings no plot at all, this is literally just all a collection of my love life, sorta yan!vox (for alastor), love triangle-ish, unrequited love, radiosilence
Tumblr media
oh, how you loved vox. his charisma, his smooth voice, his charming personality; he drove you crazy. but, lord, how you wished he would talk to you.
every waking hour, he spends in his security room, hunting alastor like his prey. you care for him, why couldn’t he accept your love?
“vox!! i brought in dinner from that restaurant down the street, yw join?”
no response.
why wouldn’t he respond? it drove you crazy, checking your phone every minute of every day waiting for his response, did he simply not care? was there something more important? oh, how vox drove you up the wall, worrying about someone who did not love you back, it was bad for your health.
losing sleep over him, just waiting for that one response.
“im a bit busy, sorry.”
that’s it? that was the response you’ve been waiting all week for? you’re joking…
to turn off these feelings— you would sell your soul for it. you wish you didn’t love him, but seeing him and being close with him; it made your heart beat and your face flush.
all you wish is for closure. love or leave, just pick one.
Tumblr media
god, alastor was mythic. his mystery, quite the appeal.
seeing him take care of the hotel, completely unaware of vox’s watching eyes. or did he know? did he mind?
would he mind if vox dated someone else? would he get jealous? angry? would alastor even care? god above, the temptation; to do all kinds of things with one unlucky sinner…
ah, he might just do it. rub it in alastor’s stupid face that he isn’t on alastor’s hook no more, that would be the sweetest vengeance to his greatest rival.
rival… he did hate alastor, right..? of course he did…
vox hated alastor, definitely. he was ugly, that haircut… absolutely abominable, who would consider even getting that haircut? and the way he refuses to use technology— is it cause of his own beliefs, or maybe it’s because of him? did he make alastor hate technology. oh, how annoying he could be…
agh, despite his irritation… he still misses alastor, how he took him in, and turned him into what he is today, what changed?
“ohh, alastor… i cannot wait to watch you get FUCKED.”
but,
did he really mean it?
ahh,
no, of course not.
how could he hate the man who made him as successful as he did today?

Part three! (here are parts one and two) This one is a bit more Vox-heavy than the others, but that's because I couldn't think of any other things, they'd have issues over once they worked through the things mentioned in the first two parts. So, picking up where we left off.
A large portion of the city got to see Vox freaking out and yelling at Alastor, demanding to know who his supposed rival is and why they got to make demands of him. One-half of the viewers are convinced that Alastor must have done something because Vox would never be upset that he's not a rival. Now, he clearly just wants to know who it is, so he can hold them against Alastor. The other half read the room a bit better and insisted that no, Vox is actually just upset that he's been replaced. It starts several wars within the Vees fandom, which usually Velvette would be angry about, but honestly, she's having too much fun watching it. If it starts really hurting them, she'll do something but for now, she is just watching the chaos, trying to get a feel for it.
But no matter what side they’re on, they all want to know who the person Alastor was talking to on the radio was, and who, if Vox was to be believed, got to negotiate the terms of his forgiveness with Alastor.
But then Vox just shows up in person, insisting that he's there to help. Literally everyone knows he's not, but they can't do much about it, because he does have a live stream going. With a lot of annoyance, they give him a tour. He tries to bribe several people to tell him who the rival is. No one does. They just roll their eyes.
RadioApple has mixed feelings about it. On one hand, Alastor loves attention. He thrives on it. On the other hand, this really isn't anyone's business and he'd prefer if it had never gotten out. Lucifer is in a similar boat. They talk about it, deciding that they simply aren't going to address this. It's not the greatest idea but they know that feeding into it will just make it worse. So, Vox has doubled the doubt of drones he's got watching the hotel, and now they have people showing up to try and scope them out. Thankfully after kicking a few of them out and wrecking the drones they get the point across.
Meanwhile, after dealing with it a bit, RadioApple decides that it'll be funny to mess with people. So, they have Lucifer use a voice filter and do Al's radio show. They have Alastor, sans fillters, answer the phone when the sins call Lucifer. They enjoy the sheer chaos, and no one puts the pieces together, because the sins aren't talking to sinners, and the sinners can't even get to the other sins. Alastor in particular enjoys watching people fail around like a bunch of headless chickens trying to figure it all out. But they also just never mention it again, which just makes everything worse because they now have no leads whatsoever at all and everyone is just wondering if maybe Alastor was just screwing with them.
Only he definitely seems to be in a better mood and refers to whoever this person is sometimes. Eventually everyone (-vox) accepts that they're not getting answers. and then the world rival changes into a partner, and everything loses their mind because WHAT? Surely you don't mean the same mysterious rival right? No? You do? Okay well, what does that mean?
People are finally desperate enough to try to get information out of the others, which is a mistake because the others make it to mess with them. So, there's a lot of ‘Oh the Roach King? Yes, his Raoch Queen is wonderful’ or ‘Oh Strawberry Pimp’s latest commitment, yeah they hot together’ and the like.

So, something has stuck with me since viewing the second episode of Hazbin Hotel. Which is that Alastor calls Vox "Old Pal". Now Alastor could have been taunting Vox or being sarcastic. However, I do feel like there may be more to this. Earlier in episode two, it was revealed that Vox, in particular, asked Alastor to join the VVV. And it does feel like Vox has this strange obsession with Alastor.
Now for the rest of theory, I am relying on some old information that was said about Vox. From what I've read and heard, Vox was headcanoned by Vivziepop to have a voice similar to Mark Hamill. Who is rather well known as one of the Joker's greatest voice actors.
So, why does this matter? Well, the Joker tends to be character who is obsessed with his arch nemesis, who is Batman. He tends to plan entire schemes just to mess with Batman. And in some stories, that is explained to be because Joker was created by Batman. (Sometimes through a battle, in which Joker accidently lands into some chemicals that cause him to become the pale and green haired clown).
So, what am I proposing here? I'm suggesting that MAYBE, Alastor's actions either it be when he was a human on Earth or a sinner in hell, resulted in Vox. I should mention that timeline wise, Alastor is older than Vox. In the sense that Alastor as a human, was born before Vox. And arrived to Hell before Vox as well. So, it's possible that Alastor somehow did influence Vox in some way.
I mean, even comparing some aspects of Vox to the Joker, there are some similarities. Both of them have altered features compared to other characters in their world. (Now yes I know that hell is populated with many strange sinner bodies, but even how Vox seems able to change and replace his screens with newer models is strange. Especially since we know when sinners are harmed, like say a limb gets ripped off, it will regrow. So the fact that Vox is able to replace his screen... is strange). And of course, they both seemingly have a strange obsession with their rival that is usually one-sided.
I believe that Alastor's actions resulted in Vox being the strange tv sinner he is now. And perhaps Alastor's actions resulted in Vox having this strange obsession with him. Perhaps Vox, in a strange way, was grateful for Alastor causing him to become the powerful TV overlord he is now. Or maybe that invite to the VVV was some type of trap.
I will say that should this theory be true. It would be interesting story wise. As it would mean that Alastor's actions brought forward the new dawn of tech that he hates so much. As his actions (in this theory) created or pushed Vox in some way.
Anyways that's just a theory (or really just a guess given how little evidence this has). Feel free to share your thoughts!

somewhat an analysis of Alastor
I've been going over this multiple times while it was just some rambles in my notes, but I finally decided it might as well see the light of day. if you do read this all, thank you. if not,,, understandable. it's a lot.
if this whole things is not coherent at all and does some weird jumps, I'm sorry. I took multiple breaks writing this over the span of the whole day. it was even more of a mess, I promise this is the slightly cleaned-up version.
especially the later parts get less cohesive in my eyes since I had to take longer breaks in between them. they also might jump around more. but now, in case you do want to read this; enjoy.
obvious spoilers ahead
Tumblr media
let's start with the most interesting aspect for me: we barely know Alastor. sure, we know a little about his backstory, and get snippets of interactions here and there, but it wasn't until well into the show that we got to know his character better. ep.5 was where we see something deeper than the shallow persona he puts on for everyone. he's been more of a helping hand to make the plot progress in an interesting direction than a character with obvious deeper meaning. I don't mean to say that he was not well-written, quite the contrary, I mean to point out that he seemed more like a tool in the story than a character we are supposed to connect with on deeper levels.
we all as viewers had no idea why exactly he was there, to begin with, he said it was for his own entertainment but even then, this seemed like an awful lot of work for him to come out more or less empty-handed most of the time. it's an unfair deal for Alastor if you ask me. and honestly, he does bring little less than "entertainment" to the table until then. being used to show that he is helping yes, but mostly doing it so he can pull someone else down with his help. double-sided blade. he loses, but whoever he helps also doesn't win.
Tumblr media
let's talk about ep.5 though. in this episode it's the first time someone truly irritates him. he didn't really care much for Vox - seemingly finding his entire obsession rather funny and never seeing him as a true threat. and Sir Pentious he didn't even truly remember. but with Lucifer that changes. Alastor doesn't just see him as bothersome, he sees him as important enough to go out of his way to prove he is better than the literal king of hell himself. at first, you could argue that he's once again doing it for his entertainment. seeing how much he can push before he needs to get back in line. but looking closer, his body language betrays him.
the way Alastor holds himself shows a true disdain for Lucifer that is, from a viewer's perspective, totally unjustified. Lucifer did not start their weird rival dynamic, it was Alastor who from the beginning on looked down on the king. maybe it's a personal reason, maybe it's just the fact that Alastor is more than well aware that no matter how much power he gets, there's no way to get above Lucifer. his omnipresence might simply be an annoyance to Alastor because he knows as well as Lucifer that the king hasn't shown his face in a long time and his reputation and power over all of the pride ring, over all of hell, still stays in place. no real threat could shake Lucifer's power into crumpling and this thought alone might bother Alastor because he had to fight for his power, to keep his power. (see Vox having presumably more power with the modern media and all that before Alastor disappeared)
and there's also of course the whole bantering going on in Hell's greatest Dad. Are Alastor's words genuine when he speaks to Charlie, or is it just a tactic to get under Lucifer's skin, maybe not seeing his powers crumble but seeing the king's nerves being reduced to nothing by his hands.
I personally don't think he was being entirely truthful. he might not have straight up lied about everything, but I don't think he truly wishes Charlie to be his daughter. Charlie herself is more than a little surprised by how Alastor suddenly treats her, and that alone is proof enough for me that he wasn't being honest in his words. if it were true, wouldn't he have at least a slight fatherly touch towards her all the time? Later on, Angel Dust even somewhat points out that Alastor has never acted like this by asking what his [Alastor's] deal is. It shows me that no matter how badly he tries to make it seem real for Lucifer, it's not real for anyone else simply because they all know how he normally acts around them.
Tumblr media
continuing to Mimzy for a short moment; she is proven to not be a reliable narrator at all so I don't want to really take what she tells about Alastor all too seriously. she even concludes her little tale about the radio demon with "That's the story most people know." which does not make it any true. something I thought is very interesting is that the only two people who might have any idea of how truthful Mimzy is in her story are both gone. Niffty, though she also does not seem like the most reliable narrator, is not part of this conversation, and Hus kates himself out of the scene almost in the same moment Mimzy starts talking about. Husk leaving is more important since he obviously knows more about not only Alastor but also the deal Alastor is bound to. Husk and Alastor might equally hate it, but Husk does seem to care about Alastor at least a little. warning the overlord about Mimzy and how she is known for only showing up when she needs something, and I'm sure Alastor is more than aware that Mimzy wouldn't show up simply to catch up with old friends, but still. the sentiment of Husk seeking Alastor out to warn him, and even mentioning how he [Alastor] has been gone for a while now, is in itself caring, especially when moments later the viewers find out how much more Husk seems to know about Alastor. it even seems as if he is aware of limitations, mentioning how it's "Big talk for someone who's also on a leash." coming from Alastor's deal, even if Alastor himself is ignoring them [see the line "Who in their right mind would cross me?"]
the whole fact that Husk even seems to know so much about Alastor's deal is confusing in a way. I can't see Alastor willingly going to Husk and telling him about not only the deal he made with someone above himself but also about the limitations of said deal, it just doesn't make sense for the character we know Alastor to be, and even when finishing the show my opinion doesn't change. it's even more prominent how he later hides away.
Tumblr media
after this scene, Alastor isn't seen catching back up to Charlie, Vaggie, and Lucifer to continue annoying him simply by his presence. his outburst having left him apparently on edge - showing that he isn't as calm and calculated as he likes to pretend. he obviously struggles with his own anger, be it at Husk for bringing up that he knows about Alastor's deal, or himself for ever getting into the situation in the first place.
later we see Alastor taking care of Mimzy's problem -the loan sharks. he's not seen using his powers like he did when Sir Pentious attacked though, he willingly transforms into something eldritch to devour the threat instead of simply using the tentacles, which would've been just as easy for Alastor. in my eyes that's him getting rid of the last restlessness about his outburst at Husk. choosing to do it himself, showing he still has free will over what he does and doesn't do. if not proving it to Husk then proving it to himself that he can choose to do this. he goes all out, he even comments on it himself how he needs to let off steam and later on how he's important here and willingly choosing to be here, helping ["It's time to remind everyone [Husk] why I'm here."] Alastor needs Husk to know what happens when you cross him, and when you doubt him. because he took the comments about how long he's been gone and that he's also on a leash personally. I don't even think it's necessarily because Husk said it, it's that someone in hell said it. not a soul in hell is allowed to think that Alastor, the radio demon, is not strong enough to win every fight he chooses to start.
Tumblr media
let me come back to Mimzy once more, as if this one scene scratching the surface of what lies underneath his smile-bright persona revealed by Husk wasn't enough we get Alastor being all buddy-buddy with Mimzy, who is not only acting like a friend to him but is also introduced as such. a normal friend to someone who is so obviously not normal.
but even with his more friendly behavior towards her, he ends up sending her away after the hotel has to suffer under the problem she brought along. ["I can't have that here."] If he was genuine with what he said then, why did he phrase it like that? I might be reading too much into it, but Alastor normally picks his words wisely enough to not let too much slip, and the sentence "I don't want this here." would've been better fitting for the situation, but he says can't have that here. new question, what can't he have here? Mimzy herself? someone who knows him better than the residence with maybe a habit of blabbering? or was it just the fact that it's her problems that he needs to fix? that he can't have her bringing more work than there already is at the hotel?
Tumblr media
now making a bit of a jump, going from ep.5 to ep.7 this episode makes me mostly wonder about what Alastor could ask from Charlie later on based on the deal the two of them made. in terms of character, it gave us little besides his dynamic with Rosie and the entirety of cannibal city. though this was also not really anything new, more just what we already knew about Alastor in a new dynamic
there is one scene I do want to talk about though. his whole little speech around smiling. him actually standing by and admitting that he is hiding behind his smile did take me a second to actually realize what just happened, I did skip back to it because I was a little stunned by the absurdity of it all. after some thought it made sense that he might not mind it, Charlie does not know him well enough for this off-hand comment to truly affect anything for him, still it made me wonder. why would he reveal it to her? was he simply so sure that she wouldn't use it against him or did he think she wouldn't even think of using anything against him in this kind of way?
so it confirms that yes; Alastor uses his smile as a facade and also as a way to show he is above others who cannot hide behind a smile like he can. his smile means indifference to himself, neutrality. for him showing anything but the indifference that his smile represents is vulnerability. weakness.
Tumblr media
let's move on to the actual "highlight" episode of "What We Learn about Alastor" ep.8
this surely was not the first time he got humbled badly by someone in a fight. it's what he wants to avoid most, the mask slipping, everyone seeing that he can be defeated, that he is not this otherworldly powerful being that not a soul in hell [or heaven] can touch. there had to be at least one very significant moment where he was powerless in a way. where he had to strike up a deal with someone higher, the one now binding him, now having him on a leash.
Alastor went into the fight with Adam overly confident, underestimating Adam's powers to the point he barely got away. he is, after all this, still a mortal soul. a sinner. Adam on the other hand was the first man which gives him roughly the same power Lilith must have. that in itself makes me think Alastor lasted a good deal longer in the battle than I would've thought. pure angelic powers far surpassing his own and he still 1) got away in the end and 2) was able to get in a few hits.
let's quickly touch on the fact that when Adam broke his microphone he seemed to be completely stunned, apparently not having thought that he could easily break his possession without any real resistance. I personally don't think his power is necessarily in the microphone [the was the simply gave it away to Charlie in ep.7 being my proof for why it can't be. he would never abandon his power just for Charlie to sing a song for a few cannibals] but what if it maybe is some kind of amplifier for it? maybe it's also pure placebo and Alastor was simply too stunned that Adam would go for the piece of equipment instead of for a deadly blow right away. the microphone surely was a confidence boost, feeling of being 'on air' the feeling of having his broadcast behind him while doing his everyday tasks giving him the boost he sometimes needs, his ego being constantly stroked by the knowledge that there would be countless sinners bowing to him if he simply said the words into his microphone. no longer being able to do that made him stutter in more ways than one, being momentarily careless, not prepared for Adam to strike again, deadly this time. he lost where he was in his performance, in his own show, and it made him mess up.
one interesting sentence is when Adam comments on how Alastor is just a mortal soul. "You should know better than anyone what a soul can accomplish when they take charge of their own fate." which makes me want to believe that's exactly what Alastor did, taking charge of his own fate. but the thing is that we know he did not. he made a deal with someone, and he doesn't have the ability to take charge of anything about his own being anymore. he's as much on a leash as he has Husk on one. that would only mean that he isn't at his full potential, held back by the deal he so desperately wants to get out of, and is actively looking for a way to get out of it. which turns this line into something else completely. Alastor reveals that he knows what he is capable of, but cannot parade his power due to his deal.
another interesting detail is his ears before he dissolves into his shadow. they are pinned back, showing not only agitation or fear but disorientation. he opens his mouth for no sound to come out and it frightens him to have come into this situation at all.
Tumblr media
a big part of his mental disintegration in this moment surely is also the fact that if he had died at this moment, if Adams's hit was slightly more fatal, he would've died bound to the deal still. Alastor would have gone without being able to fulfill his own goal - getting rid of the chain around his throat. getting control back over his own afterlife. if he had died at Adam's hands, he would have died being possessed by someone else which we can assume is what Alastor sees as the lowest he can fall. the people bound to him by a deal mean nothing to him as it seems, we only ever got to see those who were needed for the Hotel.
while also, dying in this moment would have proven to everyone that he stayed to protect the hotel, his friends, but retreating and not being killed in a heroic death-wish battle be had proven to especially the audience that Alastor is not ride or die for these people.
in his breakdown ballad, we can finally see where he went to to lick his wounds. his entire breakdown also shows once again how scared he truly is of being inadequate. this wasn't just a reminder from Husk that he is indeed also on a leash, being pulled to where whoever holding it wants him to go, this is a rendezvous with death, barely escaping the situation that would have proven that he is too weak, at least while being bound by this deal he is [no longer] profiting from.
the place not only reeks of death for him, like he says in his song, but it also reeks of shame at the fact that he had nearly not made it out alive. it would've been seen as a noble act had he truly died in this scene, he had not died protecting himself, he had died protecting others. it is worse than dying on a leash even since at least almost no one knows about that, it would allow him to save some face. but dying for these people? he cannot even stand the thought of it.
in his mind he needs to keep up the smiling facade, the indifference in this smile he holds obviously so dear, for eternity. him dying should not allow the indifference he stands for to evaporate, he needs to play the act even after being killed in his afterlife.
Tumblr media
even if this now ends rather abruptly, my work here is done. see you next time I start writing and simply don't stop for a while.
it truly is "Good to be back on the Air." with a newly cleaned-up space to talk about fandoms
this might be edited later on, nothing major, maybe just to have some actual continuity in it.

Hi hello 2 more Veeswap AU questions- 1; what's the equivalent of Hell's Greatest Dad in this AU? Is there one??? Cuz a musical custody battle between Husk and Adam doesn't really make sense akdkfsmmf(tho it is VERY funny to imagine). Actually Im just curious abt the plotline of this AUs version of Dad Beat Dad in general tbh. 2; Husk and Charlie. What's the dynamic there? Are they rivals? How similar is their dynamic to canon Al and Vox? Do they even know eachother in this AU? What's goin on there-
hello again!! :] 1 - while i think husk and adam dislike each other in the swap au because of clashing personalities, its nowhere near the intensity of lucifer and alastor's rivalry in canon lol. its actually a matter that i havent really figured out yet myself, though i think hell's greatest dad just doesn't happen in the swap au. maybe theres some equivalent husk/adam duet? but idk. as for the general plotline of ep 5 in the swap au, i both dont rly have the energy to describe it rn and i think i'll probably elaborate on it later on through more comics, sooooo stay tuned i think? 2 - husk and charlie dont really have a lot going on in the swap au. it's actually husk and angel who get the radiostatic style rivalry >:D they were initially gonna be married but then i realized that val probably wouldnt vibe with having his shitty boss' husband hanging around the hotel, soooo yeah. huskerdust gets the homoerotic rivalry treatment. as for husk and charlie, i think husk just kinda dislikes her bc he thinks she is a show-off and attention seeker (she is lol), while charlie is fairly ambivalent towards him

Each cast member's relationship with Vox in RAM
Alastor – Alastor decided to break Vox on a whim. Seven years ago, during one of their fights, he managed to subdue Vox, which he'd never fully managed to do before; usually, they would fight to a stalemate or one of them would decide to make their escape before things could get really serious. With Vox at his mercy, Alastor found himself recalling a certain experiment he performed several years ago on the former overlord of the fashion industry. Alastor wanted to claim victory over Vox, make him suffer for his decades of insolence, and, most importantly, wind back the clock. Vox used to be his starry-eyed little protégé, hanging on his every word and doing exactly as he said. He missed that version of Vox (or rather, what that version did for him and his ego) and hated the crass, obnoxious megalomaniac he'd become. If that experiment had transformed Niffty into such a loyal, amusing thrall... why not try the same with Vox? Alastor took Vox into the basement of Vee Tower and did things to him that no one will ever know, broadcasting his screams to all of Pentagram City. Once he was satisfied with his work, he dumped Vox's mangled body in the lobby and completely vanished from the Pride Ring for seven years. He hoped that, whenever he returned, he'd find a Vox that was far more to his taste. And he got his wish. Or at least, he thought he did.
Alastor finds Vox's state quite amusing, and he derives a great deal of satisfaction from having such total control over him, but... he still misses the old Vox, in a way. Alastor enjoyed the challenge Vox used to pose. He enjoyed being able to banter with him. He enjoyed how, for 60 years, he and Vox perpetually feuded, but never truly defeated each other. This new version of Vox offers none of that. He's almost cloyingly docile with Alastor and absent-minded to the point of incompetence. There's only so long the novelty of watching his greatest rival reduced to a pathetic, feeble-minded wretch can last. Still, Alastor is unwilling to let Vox go. He's his toy now, and there might still be some fun to be had by dangling him over the Vees' heads until this nonsense with the hotel is finished.
Angel Dust – Angel's feelings about Vox are deeply complicated. He was one of the few non-overlords who knew that Vox was still alive and had lost his mind, due to his constant proximity to Val. Vox's condition was a constant source of rage, grief, and frustration for Valentino, and more often than not, he chose to take those feelings out on Angel. He wishes so badly that he could just ignore Vox or laugh at his suffering, but he can't. Seeing it up close every day isn't cathartic, it's just sad, and he hates that it makes him pity the man who happily enabled his abuser for decades on end. He'll never forgive Vox or become his friend, but, after several months at the hotel, he decides that he can at least be a better man than Vox ever was and not be needlessly cruel to him. Read more here.
Charlie – Vox grows to really like Charlie (just like everyone else tbh). She's just so endlessly patient and kind; she always treats Vox with respect and understanding, which makes him very eager to please her. If she sets him a task, whether it's related to hotel maintenance or the redemption activities, he'll try his best to do it right– and if he fucks up, he'll attempt to make it up to her somehow, even if his methods are kind of... extreme (Accidentally fried the hotel TV? Time to go steal a new one!). They're not super close friends, but there's a lot of affection between them.
Cherri Bomb – Cherri is unsympathetic to Vox once she finally meets him. She's not willing to forgive him for what he helped put Angel through for all those years and tries to get Angel to laugh with her about how he got what he deserved. As much as he'd like to, Angel can't bring himself to laugh along. She'd probably be the hotel resident most willing to mock or prank him (other than Alastor) once she moves in, but we'll see what happens in season two.
Husk – Husk does his absolute best to never exchange words with Vox unless there is literally no other option. Vox scares the shit out of him. It'd be one thing if Niffty was just a one-off– maybe something went wrong with her during Alastor's usual overlord-murder routine and he just decided to roll with it– but seeing explicit confirmation that, no, this is something Alastor can and will do to people just for shits and giggles is terrifying. Husk has no love in his heart for Vox as a person, but watching Alastor puppet him around and utterly rob him of his dignity makes Husk fear and hate Al all the more. If Husk steps too far out of line, what's to stop Alastor from doing the same thing to him, someone he actually has under contract and who no longer has access to the power that Vox and Niffty had when they were broken?
Lucifer – Vox has an ongoing delusion that Lucifer is one of his old bosses from his human life. He's constantly sucking up to him, trying to earn his approval so he'll finally give him that promotion he's been after. Lucifer finds this situation fun and plays along. He's not malicious about it– he genuinely just enjoys putting on a show and doesn't think it's doing Vox any harm. He may or may not care about who Vox used to be; if he does care, it's only in the context that Alastor is capable of doing this to his fellow sinners, and that's all the more reason not to let him continue to manipulate Charlie.
Niffty – Vox and Niffty instantly click. They're from the same time period and are both in similar mental states, so they get each other on a level no one else in the hotel can. Alastor specifically fucked with Vox's mind to make him more amenable to retro culture, so Niffty's 1950s sensibilities immediately make him feel at home with her. She's also the only one in the hotel who isn't even remotely bothered by his cognitive issues. Vox forgets what he's talking about halfway through a conversation and tries to leave to do something else? Niffty will come along happily, regardless of what they were originally doing. Vox fries electronics or shocks her by accident? Yay, pain! And now there's a mess for her to clean up! They just adore each other. Neither of them is cognizant enough to realize that they're both ex-overlords in the exact same situation– they just "naturally" get along completely separate from that. They're one hell of a double act, causing problems without realizing it and occasionally calming down enough to have sweet, quiet moments together. Out of everyone in the hotel, Vox will miss Niffty the most once he finally goes back to Vee Tower.
Sir Pentious – Pentious is sent by the Vees to infiltrate the hotel and report back on how Vox is doing, as well as if the hotel has any vulnerabilities that they can exploit in order to rescue him. He isn't caught quite as quickly as he is in the main verse and instead choses to defect from the Vees after a few months due to how willing they are to kill everyone in the hotel as soon as they get Vox back. Pentious used to look up to Vox as one of the most powerful overlords in Hell and is caught off-guard by the state he's now in. Even as Pentious is playing double agent, he finds himself becoming very attached to the hotel and its residents, including Vox himself. Vox is supposed to be the hotel handyman, but he ends up breaking things more often than he fixes them due to his short attention span and volatile powers. Pentious finds himself helping Vox with his job more and more often; he has a lot of experience with wrangling mentally not-all-there people (or eggs, in his case) into successfully completing complex tasks, after all. Vox ends up liking Pentious a lot; they talk about mechanical stuff and Vox finds Pentious' big personality funny and interesting and attention-grabbing. They strike up a pretty sweet little friendship, which gives Pentious a bit of an ego boost that an ex-overlord likes him enough to consistently want to spend time with him. And at no point does Vox ever feel compelled to scream at Pentious to kill himself. Read more here.
Vaggie – Vaggie mostly kept her distance from Vox for the first six months at the hotel, like she did with most of the other residents. She doesn't trust easily, so it takes a while for her to open herself up to people. She sort of mentally filed Vox under the same category as Niffty: Erratic weirdos who Alastor brought to the hotel for God knows what reason, but who don't seem to be malicious. She struggled a lot with being patient with him and dealing with his destructive fits though. Her first instinct is to attack when threatened, so Charlie often had to get in between the two of them whenever Vox started losing control. Eventually, Vaggie starts picking up on the fact that something is off about Vox and Alastor's "friendship." Once she learns what happened to Vox, she finds herself empathizing with him quite a bit; she knows how it feels to be blindsided and left to rebuild your life from nothing, as well as what it's like to be an ex-monster hiding in plain sight.
Valentino – Valentino has not been doing well these past seven years. He was never known as an overlord with an abundance of self-control, but any he may have once had has gone completely out the window. He simply does not know how to deal with his emotions, so instead, he takes them out on everyone and everything around him, including himself. His reputation for needless violence towards his workers has grown exponentially every year since Vox's encounter with Alastor. He constantly starts totally unnecessary fights with other overlords and wannabe overlords just to give himself an outlet for his anger. He's abusing his body in a manner he hasn't done since he was alive and is doing so with increasing frequency. He's become a rabid dog that everyone in Hell knows needs to be put down, but no one can manage it because he and Velvette have become so powerful in Vox's absence.
But for some reason that even he can't understand, Val leaves most of that anger at the door when he goes into Vox's quarters to make sure he isn't driving his claws through his screen, or curled up in the corner of the room, screaming at memories from decades ago, or simply catatonic, unwilling or unable to move or speak. He becomes something that he never– not in a million, billion years– would've ever thought himself capable of being: a caregiver. A shitty one, probably, but a caregiver, nonetheless. He'll do his best to calm Vox down during his bad spells and, amazingly, manages not to retaliate when Vox lashes out at him. He'll try to provide what little comfort he can when it seems as though Vox is about to shatter into a million pieces. He somehow finds it within himself to be patient when Vox can't recognize him and asks the same questions over and over and over again. And never– not even once– has he been tempted to take advantage of Vox's vulnerable state. Why?! Preying on vulnerable people is his entire identity! Val cannot understand why– if he can't bring himself to take advantage of this weak, pitiful version of Vox– he doesn't just go back to his room, retrieve his angelic bullets, and put Vox out of his misery already. But he doesn't want to. Not really. Vox is his. And no matter what, he always will be.
Velvette – Velvette always considered herself "the backbone of the Vees." Well, now no one can deny that fact and she's infinitely less satisfied with her afterlife because of it. After it became clear that Vox was not going to recover, she took over his old position as CEO of VoxTek (now VTek). She'd always idly coveted Vox's power, but now that she has it, she's utterly overwhelmed. Between running both her and Vox's businesses, caring for a Vox who doesn't even recognize her most days, and having to deal with Valentino's self-destructive spiraling, she's simply spread too thin. Vox's situation on its own is so deeply emotionally draining, it's a miracle she still has energy to run the company. She knows she can't falter though, even for a minute. Everything, from her own power to Vox's personal wellbeing, is hanging on her ability to project strength and carry on like nothing's wrong. And on top of all that, none of the other overlords or the public in general give her the respect she deserves. They see her as a nepo baby who inherited the bulk of her empire from a man too arrogant to realize that sharing power is not generally considered a respectable strategy in Hell. It almost makes her as angry as Val, although she makes an effort to actually control that anger or at least put it towards something productive.
She never realized how much she loved Vox until she essentially lost him. She knew she had a good bit of affection for him, but she never would've anticipated that she'd be willing to go to such lengths for him. She's not a patient person, but she finds herself becoming one with Vox. She'll play along with his delusions if that's what he needs from her that day (even that horrible, gut-wrenching one where he thinks she's his seven-year-old, human daughter). She'll make whatever accommodations to the tower that are needed in order to keep him safe and as happy as he possibly can be, no matter how much they cost. She'll shout Val down when he reaches his breaking point and nearly lashes out at Vox, and then turn around and offer whatever comfort Val will accept when he breaks down over losing the only person he ever loved. The urge to be kind makes her skin crawl– she fully committed to becoming the most callous, impudent, self-serving version of herself years ago (with Vox's own guidance!)– and it makes her feel weak to love this deeply, but... she'll never stop. Not until all three of them are banished to the bottomless pits of Purgatory.

(Im back) alastor x fem Cat demon chap 1/???
This is not sexual/romantic since al is aroace but it is dark he is fond of you but in a master/pet type way this takes place in an alt universe where alastor dosnet go into the Hazbin hotel
TWs: you fate is worse then death, Physical abuse, degradation, fearplay, and everything you expect from alastor, Reader gets angry easy, user does cat stuff
Tumblr media
Your life isn't  the greatest even when you are alive your life sucked there's always too much debt and people chasing after you because you're in a Rival gang And one day they just got to you shot you point blank and that's how you ended up here and literal hell trapped in this ugly cat body and even then you got in trouble with loan sharks they just kept chasing you no matter what you did So eventually you got desperate what about the  horror stories of what happens to people who sold their soul but you would do anything to get these loan sharks off your ass the next day you were thinking about who to Sell your soul to but then one of the loan sharks came beat you bloody and took your wallet eventually you were left on the Alley Bleeding Out
As you are blacking out you heard someone coming after you you thought it was one of those loan sharks coming to finish you off you couldn't see you were too weak to open your eyes but you heard a strange voice " oh dear do you need help don't worry I'm not like those cruel evil debt collectors I'm a gentleman and I'm wondering if you want help " before you could even respond to that question he scooped you up in his arms and started caring you somewhere you struggled a little trying to escape thinking whoever this man was he was going to hurt you but he just kept holding you that same static voice came back on again " be careful dear you're wasting energy I'm just making sure you're okay what type of man would I be if I didn't " you try to struggle again but you are too weak too eventually you pass out and wake up on a bed with water next to you and that same man looking at you then you realize who he is the radio demon who massacred Lots of the strongest overlords suppose you going to do to you was he going to kill you hurt you those are you could think about he came up to you and said  " oh I'm glad you're awake I thought you would never wake up if you want to Coma that would be very unfortunate " he then leaned down and started to touch your ears a big sensitive spot of yours he was scratching them gently maybe trying to calm you down but it just got you on edge you slapped his hand away and growls " don't touch there " the demon found your effort amusing and said " oh dear I'm very sorry" he patted your head and said " I'm so sorry that happened to you how could anyone do that to you "
The demon looked down at you that creepy smile still there before he said something again " I have a proposal to make I will keep you safe and protect you from any of those pesky loan sharks coming after you again and you can just do a couple things for me so what do you say do you want to make a deal" you still not wanting to accept but feeling obligated because you are at his Mercy and he is one of the most powerful overlords in hell so none those Loan Sharks would come up after you raised one of your paws and gently put it in his hands another part Of Your hellish existence is that you have no thumbs so you can't really carry anything or grip onto anything plus your just slightly bigger than the average house cat you've only been in hell for a year  and you get how bad it really is the demon grinned an even creepier smile and said " good good you're very smart Kitty " he giggled while rubbing your head this made you mad but you are too weak to speak up about it just didn't have the energy " so I'll just leave you head of rest yell if you need anything " alastor said before walking out the room
1 week later
life with alastor hasn't been so bad your pretty much recovered from your attack and just lounge around his house its weird he hasn't asked much of you and he's gone most of the day so you just do what you want that was until the incident today happened you were lounging on a wooden kitchen island when he walked over to you and started to pet your ears you didn't like it and tried to get up and jump off the counter but he used his other hand to gently keep you on the counter you told him to stop multiple times but he didn't seem to listen eventually you were scared you were gonna start purring which is a sign of weakness for you so after one has scream for his to stop you unscathed your claws and swiped at him skimming his left arm before you hissed and said "DONT TOUCH ME THEIR IM NOT YOUR FUCKING PET" he didn't seem to react other then a light giggle "oh have you forgot the deal we made" suddenly a greenish chain appeared around your neck and he pulled you off the counter senting you falling to the around "ơ̵͈h̷̡̆ ̸͕͋ṁ̷̜y̷̧̛ ̸̗̇n̴̡̽ả̶͖i̸̼͠v̵͉͘e̵̘͂ ̷̨͊l̴̩̒ỉ̷͕t̵̹͐ţ̸͒l̴̮̍e̶͔͝ ̵̡̀k̸̓͜i̷͓͝t̵̫̿ṯ̶̋y̵̦̿ ̶̣̓I̵̤̒ ̵̺̈ŏ̴̡w̵̗̚n̴̢̅ ̶͖͝y̴͍͝ö̵͔́ǘ̶̮ ̷̢̈́ń̵͕o̴̻̒w̸̲̓ ̶̲͠a̴͙̕n̸̻̏d̶̳͠ ̷̛̤I̵̯̔ ̸͙͑c̶̦͂a̸̠͗n̶̯̏ ̸͍͊d̸̜̚o̶̧̾ ̷̿͜w̴̢͘h̷͔͂ä̵̻́ţ̴̿ ̵̬͠I̶̩̐ ̸̹͝w̵̗͑a̴͍͐n̷͍͝t̷̨͐ ̶̳̽w̶͔͝ḯ̴͔t̴̢͑ḧ̷̲́ ̶̲̚y̶̲͑ó̵̫ű̴̲" his voice was horrifying and disturbing he yanked the collar towards him sending you with it, it bruised your neck and you were right by his feet he then picked you up by your scruff and said "d̶̬͊o̵̠͑ ̷͚̚Ḭ̸̂ ̴̙̈́h̵̟̐å̵̱v̸̫̈́ë̴̼́ ̵̳͑ẗ̶̳́o̷̬̚ ̴̯͘r̷̥͛e̴̪͑p̴̈ͅê̸̞ȁ̷͍t̶̤͂ ̴̨͌m̸͂͜ÿ̴̪́s̴̲̓ẽ̵̺l̵͓͒f̸̣́" his voice was low and staticly you were shaking and trembling in fear "y-yy-y-yy-yes" you said in fear his tone changed and he said "good good my dear I don't want to do anything rash to my little pet" he said it nicely but it sounded oddly cruel you were still dangling from the air when he sat down on the couch with you. Then it hit you like a truck you just ruined your life for the rest of etenerinty will just be as a pet you couldn't hold I back you just started crying into him the demon giggled "there there my dear let it all out" you buried your face into his coat and were gripping onto him just crying he seemed to get a sick and cruel pleasure from this he just kept petting you and giggling "every thing will be okay dear just trust me
THE END

Appearance & Personality:
Lucifer is a slender-figured fallen angel who sports a close resemblance to his daughter, Charlie - having her white skin with rosy-cheeks, blonde hair with thin light coral streaks on the thicker, paler blonde highlights, and eyes with light yellow sclera and red pupils. He is shorter than his daughter, though not by a large amount.
Unlike Charlie, his mouth is full of sharp teeth, his hair is short-cut and has been slicked back with one tuft sticking out, his pupils are slit like a snake, and his cheeks are a paler shade of red. In addition, he also sports black sharp eyebrows, and his eyelids are light purple. His forearms also appear to be dark grey when his sleeves are rolled up.
Lucifer's white and red clothing is somewhat like that of a circus ringmaster; he wears a wide-brimmed white top hat with a golden snake and a red apple over golden spikes, which resemble a crown, and a red-lined and red-trimmed white popped-collared suit with several golden buttons - his coat worn over a light red-and-white striped waistcoat with two golden buttons and a small, accessorized black bowtie. In "The Show Must Go On" his suit has red and golden epaulets, resembling those of a ringmaster.
He also wears a set of heeled black knee-high boots. On his left pinkie, he sports a golden ring which is presumably his wedding ring.
Lucifer is usually seen carrying an apple-topped black cane that matches his hat. Due to his angel origins, he possesses six white wings with red feathers, which he can extend from his coat.
Demonic form:
When he takes on his full demonic form, as well as displaying his wings, he displays a pair of red horns with an orb of fire between them and a thin crown resembling a snake with an apple above his hat. His eyes also change to have red sclera with yellow pupils. He also has a black tail with spikes that end in a triangular tip with a red heart at the center.
Eyes also appear on the inside of his coattails, and a similar eye also appears on his bowtie. In addition, his entire body gives off a light white glow.
Pilot:
In the pilot, Lucifer's appearance is nearly the same, only his pupils were instead black, just like Charlie's pilot design. The snake around his hat was also colored purple.
How to describe Lucifer’s personality?
• Threatrical
• Depressive (post separation)
• Melancholic
• Socially awkward (autistic)
• Ambitious
• Obsessive (with special interest)
• Mindless
Other (rarely):
• Egotistical >>> 1x08
• Violent
• Protective (especially when it comes to Charlie)
• Fearless
With Alastor:
• Prideful 😂🤣
• Jealous
• Insecure >>> about his paternalism towards Charlie
• Competitive

@holoharbinger gets a thing 'cause I've been too mean to Vox since we started to interact lately, so here's a...well, not mean thing?
Tumblr media
In hindsight, choosing "cleaning day" as the chance to allow his self-appointed rival to visit the Hotel hadn't been Alastor's greatest idea. It had seemed perfect in the moment, because it meant that everyone else was out and about, and wouldn't come back for several hours, including Vaggie. Thus, she would have never known about that little meeting of theirs.
However, on the other hand, there was one tiny detail he had failed to consider. Namely the fact that Niffty would be roaming the building in a frenzy, uncaring of anything or anyone who might find themselves in her path.
In his defence, Alastor had thought that, with how big the building was, it would have been extremely unlikely for them to bump into the hyperactive maid. Why would she be in their same wing, when there were so many other spaces in dire need of a clean up?
As they say, famous last words.
They had barely turned a corner, casually strolling towards Alastor's room for yet another promised drink, when Niffty appeared at the other end of the corridor, moving faster than a rabid hurricane.
The Radio Demon, used to the little maid's antics after years of dealing with her, smoothly stepped aside, moving close to the wall to avoid her rush, but his companion wasn't so prompt in his reaction.
Niffty literally swept Vox off his feet with her broom, knocking him forward...and straight into Alastor.
The Radio Demon acted instinctively, without thinking, and caught the body falling into his own, fingers gripping at the other Overlord's shoulders. While that surely helped doing some damage control, he wasn't fast enough to prevent his forehead to slam his forehead against the TV Demon's screen.
Alastor's own back hit the wall, but he didn't even notice, too busy freezing as his mind registered the position they had ended up in.
Vox's hands had scrambled to find a handhold, grabbing the closest they could find...which had happened the Radio Demon himself. Those blue claws had wrapped around his waist, just about his hips, their pressure far too heavy to be ignored, even with the shield of the cloth that separated his skin from them. Their chests were brushing, a hair away from being pressed up against each other and he was almost sure that one of his antlers had gotten tangled up with the other's antenna.
And yet, that wasn't even the worst part.
Tumblr media
Red eyes went painfully wide, grin stretched across his face and frozen in both shock and paralysing uneasiness. He could hear the light hiss of Vox's fans, feel the little sparks of electricity biting at his skin where their heads touched. His own breath was washing over the other Overlord's screen, perhaps a little quicker than it should have been.
Their mouths weren't touching, thankfully, but they might have if one of them had inched just a little closer or changed the angle of their faces.
Alastor's stomach lurched, a sick bitterness rushing up to his throat, filling the back of his mouth. Not only had his personal space been brutally violated, but he was being touched against his will in too many spots for his mind to process it.
It was too much. Too much all together.
And yet, very deep down, in the darkest recesses of his brain, there was the faintest whisper saying that, maybe, it wasn't too unbearable.
Vox was steady, solid, warm. He was everything the shadows Alastor usually dwelled in weren't. The way their electromagnetic waves mixed together made up an oddly melodious cacophony and his static weaved through the other's electricity astonishingly seamlessly.
It repulsed him. It made him ill in his guts.
It fascinated him. It made him ravenous.
Abruptly, the Radio Demon melted away into the shadows, causing his companion's face to hit the wall behind him, and he materialised again several steps away.
A hysterical laughter erupted from his throat, loud and straind and high-pitched as he moved even more backwards.
Tumblr media
"Oh my! I just remembered. There's an exceedingly urgent business that demands my attention! So very sorry, my dear, but we must cut your visit short. You can find your way back on your own, can't you?"
He didn't wait for an answer, shadows already climbing along his legs, to whisk him away.
"Until next time, old pal!"
And you can bet that he would make sure that the "next time" would not happen any time soon.

I can imagine all the hazbin songs I enjoy with all my demon characters, mainly just because the story is very similar to the show. Watch this
1. Hell is Forever: Aries as Adam and Sun as Charlie. Sun of course is a character that's more like Charlie. He think that the extermination should be stopped and wants to make sure it does. He actually has the title as the King of Hell, but so does Glamrock Freddy cuz they're married. With this role, he thought he had enough power to stop the exterminations by talking to Aries, the head of the exterminations. But Aries is an asshole and doesnt want to stop them
2. Stayed Gone: Eclipse as Vox and Callisto as Alastor. The two are actually long time rivals, but Callisto decided to just chill with Helios for a while before deciding to start being a menace again
3. Respectless: Eclipse as Velvette and Helios as Carmilla. Though this would take place pre Eclipse managing to kick Nightmare out of his role. Eclipse chose to be an ass to Nightmare, and Helios took it upon himself to defend his friend. (Plus Helios is the most likely to have killed an angel)
4. Whatever it Takes: Moon as Vaggie and Helios as Carmilla (again). All Helios wants to do is make sure that he can keep his loved ones safe, and so does Moon, though the main people at the time he cares about is Sun, Solar, and Monty
5. Poison: Puppet as Angel Dust. They seem the most likely to get involved in the kind of shit that Angel did, so that's really the main reason
6. Loser, Baby: I used to have the idea of this being Callisto and Helios, but I think itd be better as Helios as Husk and Puppet as Angel. They're able to bond over just how fucked up their lives are once they realize just how similar they are
7. Hell's Greatest Dad: It wouldnt be about who is the better dad in this instance, but rather who the better person to be helping Sun would be. Callisto as Alastor, Sun as Charlie, and Monty as Lucifer. I cant really decide between those two. Anyways, this would be after Callisto and Helios met Sun. Callisto thinks hes a much better person to help Sun with the extermination problem, but Monty thinks they're a better one because theyve known Sun a lot longer
8. You Didnt Know: Sun as Charlie, Solar as Vaggie, Pollux as Emily, Gemini as Sera, Aries as Adam, and Cancer as Lute. Of course Sun would decide to talk to someone else besides Aries after that last failed attempt at stopping the exterminations. Pollux agrees with Sun, and Solar gets revealed as a fallen exorcist in front of Sun
9. Out for Love: Another song where its Moon as Vaggie and Helios as Carmilla. Moon would later find out that Helios had the perfect weaponry for killing exorcists, and decided to train with him to make sure he was ready for a fight with angels
10. More than Anything (Reprise): This can really be with any of the ships, but I think it's nice for it to be with Sun and Moon (familial of course) <3
11. Finale: Sun as Charlie, Lunar as Sir Pentious (cuz he dies), Monty as Lucifer, Solar as Niffty, Nightmare as Husk, Moon as Vaggie, Bloodmoon as Angel, Eclipse as Vox, Vanny as Valentino, Callisto as Alastor. I dont really have much of an explanation for this one, I just enjoy imagining it as them

**| If the vibe of tonight’s dash is “how does the muse feel about cannibalism”, then for Vox it’s… one of those things where he gets nothing out of it, helped along by the fact he can’t eat. But his greatest rival is one, and there’s other things to judge Alastor on. And his PA’s wife— and by virtue of Hellaina being supportive and content to eat her wife’s cooking, then she is as well. He’s mostly just glad he can’t eat when he goes to their house for dinner, he doesn’t fancy “am I officially a cannibal” roulette.

i give u free reign to infodump ab all of the knights and the og army bc i am vv intrigued agjgssgsh
THERE IS SO MUCH HERE OMFG MORAL OF THIS STORY NEVER ASK ME TO INFO DUMP BECAUSE I WILL TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT—
Tumblr media
I've separated it into sections:
The Knights of Walpurgis, and the motivations for their assigned sins.
Dumbledore's First Resistance, and the motivations for their assigned virtues.
The dynamics between the opposing contenders.
Given the sheer volume of information, I've included a cut. Please enjoy this manip that I am still very proud of.
THE KNIGHTS OF WALPURGIS (later known as Death Eaters) Tom Riddle (Pride)
Pride and arrogance were very large contributing factors to Tom Riddle's downfall in the end, and honestly, the whole idea for the gifset came from Florence + The Machines' Seven Devils playing while casually thinking of Dagrim and Tom, and then about how perfectly Tom would fit as Lucifer.
Dagrim Patil (Avarice)
When questioned about what she wants, and what Riddle promised her in exchange for her unwavering loyalty, her response is, quite simply: everything. Dagrim grew up starved not for affection, but recognition. And what she was denied in childhood, she would take in adulthood by force. Her philosophy is that if something is worth wanting, it is worth taking.
Cantankerous Nott IV (Lust)
We know so little about Theodore Nott's father from the source material, other than he was elderly, and he raised Theo himself. And that he was a Death Eater, of course. His name is an ode to his ancestor, the Cantankerous Nott who created the Sacred Twenty-Eight pureblood directory. I assigned him "lust" purely for the events leading to the conception of his son (sis, it gets messy).
Abraxas Malfoy (Envy)
Abraxas Malfoy envied Tom Riddle to the point of a half attempted mutiny. He was quickly put in his place, his co-conspirators made examples of, and spared only for his close friendship with Dagrim, who pleaded for his life. Riddle, who trusted Dagrim to a fault for all she'd done to earn it, conceded. Abraxas would later prove himself to Riddle again, regaining his seat among Riddle's favoured generals. He was the one who taught Lucius to never disobey the Dark Lord, and he was not a kind teacher.
Ulysses Mulciber (Gluttony)
Indulgence and excess, spoiled rotten and filthy rich. The Mulcibers were the richest of the Sacred at one point in their lives, rivalled only by the Malfoys. Ulysses never knew the meaning of "enough," and was a glutton not only in all manners of vice, but also for cruelty, dealing it out carelessly with little to no regard for the repercussions he was well protected from by his noble standing and wealth. He was one of Riddle's greatest allies and sponsors, and instrumental in his rise to power.
Carmilla Avery (Wrath)
Carmilla was in the year above Riddle, and was quick to anger and slow to calm. Her temper was legendary, and even her younger brothers – also admitted into the Death Eater ranks – feared her. She had an untempered fury, a rage at the world for no reason at all. She developed an unhealthy codependency with Abraxas Malfoy, who served to have a soothing presence over her. People seldom survive crossing her, as her reputation dictates.
Serafine Lestrange (Sloth)
Serafine is not lazy (as the sin "sloth" would suggest), she just lacks the motivations to pursue the goals that are expected of her. A particularly bright witch, and a wealthy one too, she never applied herself at school for she didn't see the need. Instead, she fell into a fascination of the Dark Arts, where she met Riddle, perusing the Restricted Section. She is rather discontented with life, disillusioned from already such a young age. She initially joins Riddle's gang for the excitement of it all.
DUMBLEDORE'S FIRST RESISTANCE (later known as the Order of the Phoenix in its official conception in 1970)
Albus Dumbledore (Patience)
Name a man more patient than Dumbledore, I'll wait. Better yet, he'll wait, because he's patient as hell. So patient, in fact, he waited until after Harry's supposed death to come to him as a hallucination and tell him about how he was a Horcrux.
Rathin Patil (Temperance)
Temperance is abstinence, and I wanted to explore the kind of toll having his sister so far gone into the dark would have on any man, let alone one who really cared for her and wanted to do right by her. Rathin is not a perfect man, he is still fallible, and unfortunately, he develops a dependent comfort in inebriation when Dagrim disappears with Riddle. He pulls himself back together, especially when he becomes Isaiah Moody's partner at the Ministry, and he begins to pursue Miraya.
Miraya Varma (Diligence)
Methodical and persistent, Miraya Varma earned herself a position at the Ministry immediately out of Hogwarts where she would later go on to form her own task force within the Ministry specifically designed for the interrogation and recommended sentencing of dark wizards and witches. She has been known to put her duty first, up until the birth of her son, Divyansh Patil, father to Padma and Parvati.
Isaiah Moody (Humility)
For a very long time, people seldom knew the Moody name, and that was the way Isaiah liked it. He believed that his line of work would endanger his loved ones (in spite of his wife being in the same profession) and so he never took credit for the numerous arrests he made. It was Isaiah who suspected something was strange about Morfin Gaunt's arrest while investigating the Riddle Massacre, and consulted Dumbledore about it. Once his identity was discovered and he was viewed as a threat by Riddle, an attack was made on his heavily pregnant wife, jeopardizing her and his unborn boy's (Alastor) life.
Minerva McGonagall (Chastity)
Mini Minnie is seventeen, my dudes. But not only that, Minerva grew up with a religious father (he was canonically a reverend), who probably taught her his values. Also given the fact that Minerva was the first of the younger generation to participate and involve herself in the war (she sought out Dumbledore and enlisted herself into his Resistance, fearing her family would be made into another statistic if she didn't at least do something to intervene), she really didn't have much time to think about something as arbitrary as the concept of virginity. Also, it's the 1950s.
Corinne Scamander (Kindness)
Corrine is honestly the greatest. She has all of the tenacity of Tina, and the best qualities of Newt. It was Dumbledore's previous bond with Newt that encouraged him to recruit her, and she willingly accepted, because of course she would. She'd always been the soft spoken girl with a tender touch and a love for life, and she was often the advocate for hope in the resistance. She was adept in a few healing charms she'd learned from her father, and was something of a specialist in magical beings, proving herself to be highly valuable while Riddle was expanding his ranks with all manner of dark creatures.
Declan Diggory (Charity)
Sacrifice is in the Diggory blood, and Cedric's grandfather, Declan, was not the first to prove it. He also, unfortunately, wasn't the last, but he sure was one of the best. Selfless to a fault, Declan would willingly get hypothermia if it meant someone else would have warmth. Diggory's contributions to the war effort consisted of offering sanctuary and shelter to muggleborns who received death threats, and orchestrating the evacuations of targeted muggle residences. He was the leader of a small faction of the resistance, including, but not limited to: Fleamont Potter, Enoch Longbottom, Wilhelm Shacklebolt, and Ramona McKinnon.
DYNAMICS (just the contenders for now because this is hella long)
Albus Dumbledore vs. Tom Riddle
Adversaries, a fair deal of mistrust and guilt from Dumbledore's side (upon reflection, he'd been the one to introduce Tom to the wizarding world; even though he knows that if Riddle had been left unchecked, the risk of him becoming an Obscurus would've resulted in catastrophe all the same). Riddle sees Dumbledore as nothing more than a foolish old man, a pest, and an obstacle to overcome at first, but learns to begrudgingly respect Dumbledore's strength and mastery of magic (after all, Riddle only knew him as the Transfiguration teacher before, and thought the accounts of Dumbledore's victory over Grindelwald had been exaggerated to great effect). Riddle's hubris was believing he could defeat Dumbledore on his own, thinking himself already stronger than Grindelwald ever hoped to be.
Rathin Patil vs. Dagrim Patil
Rathin had always been very protective of Dagrim, and loved her dearly, although his acts of affection were often misinterpreted as pity and condescension. This only served to push them further apart. When Dagrim turned to the Dark Arts and found solace in Riddle, it revolted Rathin, as he was hugely against the corruption the Dark Arts has on the performing witch or wizard, and wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. He still very much loves her, and it hurts him to fight her. Dagrim, on the other hand, finds catharsis in duelling her brother, believing it to be justice for the way her parents treated her and the little he did to dissuade them.
Miraya Varma vs. Cantankerous Nott
A mutual respect and an academic rivalry, Cantankerous and Miraya were not friends by any means, but not enemies, either. Cantankerous even went as far as to warn Miraya of an impending attack, allowing her to evacuate the building. But although he knows she's clever, he also knows that she's incredibly stubborn, and displayed little surprise to find her awaiting him in the now vacant building. They are equally matched, and their unique relationship spans several decades, even into Cantankerous' failed run at Minister for Magic, and Theodore and the Patil twins' time at Hogwarts. She was present at his trial following the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, and watched as he was sentenced to life in Azkaban for his crimes as a Death Eater.
Isaiah Moody vs. Abraxas Malfoy
Given his profession, Isaiah has a lot of enemies on the Sacred Twenty-Eight who are loyal to the Dark Lord. One such enemy is Abraxas Malfoy. When Tom gets word of Moody's involvement in solving the Riddle Massacre, he sends Malfoy and a newer Death Eater, Evangeline Rosier, to hinder the investigation. Abraxas and Evangeline were responsible for the attack on Isaiah's heavily pregnant wife, who, if she hadn't been an Auror herself, would've never survived. Alastor Moody was prematurely born at St. Mungo's following the attack, and all of Isaiah's efforts were turned on exacting vengeance on those responsible. Malfoy went into hiding, but Isaiah, ruthless, managed to hunt down Rosier. She died under questioning, setting in motion a vicious cycle of vengeance between the Moodys and Rosiers. Once Isaiah had been killed by Evangeline's brother (Evan [who was named after her] Rosier's father), Abraxas deemed it safe to rejoin society.
Minerva McGonagall vs. Ulysses Mulciber
On the list of things Ulysses loathes, he would put half-bloods above muggleborns (although he turns a blind eye to his Dark Lord's blood status when it conveniences him). Half-bloods only serve as a reminder of the lowest and weakest of his kind; the unworthy muggleborns, the lecherous blood traitors, the vermin muggles. Mulciber prides himself as something of a "purifier," and finds great enjoyment in pruning family trees that have been poisoned by muggle blood into purity once more. He takes a great interest in Minerva McGonagall, given that she is an incredibly powerful witch at such a young age, and he wonders how glorious she would've been had she been a pureblood (a twisted and untrue belief among the Sacred Twenty-Eight during that time). Minerva, the threat of Mulciber weighing heavily on her, places her family under Dumbledore's protection. She vows to stop Mulciber and his perverse idea of justice.
Corinne Scamander vs. Carmilla Avery
It didn't take much to enrage Carmilla Avery, and Corinne had been caught in the tempest Carmilla's fury since the day they'd met. Carmilla, who took great pleasure in picking on people she deemed lesser, made a target out of Corinne, perceiving her kindness for weakness. During their time at Hogwarts, Corinne had gained the attention of Avery for being a blood traitor and a muggle sympathizer, which only strengthened Carmilla's vindication. Corinne, who had been friends with Rubeus Hagrid prior to his expulsion, and who had almost fallen prey to the basilisk when she had heard Myrtle Warren's cries from the bathroom, never lowered herself to Carmilla's level nor did she rise to any of the challenges. This hurt Avery's ego, as she thought this was Corinne's way of claiming herself better than her. It wasn't until after Hogwarts that Carmilla's growing resentment came to a head, and, without the protection the school offered Corinne, Carmilla was looking to finally put an end to the blood traitor line of Scamander.
Declan Diggory vs. Serafine Lestrange
Declan and Serafine were childhood friends who drifted apart during their time at Hogwarts, particularly when she fell in with Riddle's crowd. She is viewed by Dumbledore as having the power to sway the entire outcome of the war, for if Serafine could be persuaded into leaving Riddle, her cousins (one of whom is the father of Rodolphus and Rabastan Lestrange) would surely comply, and the families who held the Lestranges in high regard would be inclined to follow. This makes Declan and Serafine key pieces in Dumbledore's game of strategy. However, Serafine was disowned long before she defected from the Death Eaters, leaving the Lestranges firmly in Riddle's grasp. Although Serafine claimed to feel nothing for Diggory, she still refused to deal any real harm to him when they duel, in spite of having ample opportunity to do so; something which Riddle picked up on. She was later forced to torture Declan in front of him to prove her loyalty to the Dark Lord, something which Declan permitted her to do, knowing she had very little choice in the matter. He was left for dead, but Serafine would later secretly return with Corinne to get him medical attention. She gives her son, Francis, "Declan" as a middle name.
