Fic Summary:

When Kaedwen invades Vergen, Saskia and Iorveth's forces are not enough to hold them off. Instead, everyone they care about ends up slaughtered, their dream for a better world dying in the blood-soaked streets. But they're still alive, even though both are now wanted across the North - which means they have to figure out how to pick themselves up and move on.

Running into Vernon Roche and little Anais La Valette complicates things, but it also gives Saskia an idea. Anais deserves to grow up safely - and if the Northern Kingdoms can't provide that safety, then what about a Dragon Enclave deep in the Fiery Mountains, far away from the humans who wish them harm?

P.S. Of all the possible scenarios for Anais, the only one I like is the one where she grows up under the supervision of Adda and Radovid and subsequently becomes the ruler of Temeria, but under Redanian influence.

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

A fic with a proper, fleshed-out backstory and characterization for Maria Luiza La Valette. How she became the baroness La Valette (which would probably not be a very nice part of her story), and which role Foltest and his love played in her life. Her relationship with Arjan (and also Anais and Boussy).

This is more random thoughts than anything, but an idea for a potential first meeting between Luiza and Foltest has been in my head for a while, I just don't think I'll ever manage to write it down.
