Godly Parents of the Bishops
This is kinda just a quick first draft for later fic ideas. I'll probably come back and not like it. This is in HC order of collection:
Shamura, youngest child of Inanna, goddess of fate, and Odin the Fox, god of foresight.
Narinder, only child of Hecate/Diana (need to pick a name), goddess of magic, and Anubis, god of death.
Kallamar, second born child of Apollo, god of shiny things and music, and Sirona, god of healing and the sea.
Heket, only child of Set, god of plenty, and Demeter, god of starvation.
Leshy, unknown.

One aspect that isn't focused on in the myth of Persephone and Hades is that Gaia had a hand in the kidnapping plot because she made the flower to lure Persephone. Gaia in real mythology just seemed to have so many confusing alliance. One moment she's an enemy another she's an ally. In the Hymn of Demeter, she actually helped lure persephone to hades. I think the girl wanted to see her grandson finally get a wife. And in my opinion it would actually be fun how Hades interacts with his grandma Gaia and see her probably be happy he's finally got a girl.
Oh really? That’s crazy! I didn’t know Gaia was involved lol! The more you know lmao!
Honestly, I’ve been debating on whether I should make Gaia Persephone’s grandmother or Hades’ grandmother lol. I feel like it’d make more sense for Persephone because Demeter is basically the goddess of nature and harvest and whatnot, so her mother literally being the Earth would…y’know…make sense lol.
But at the same time, since Gaia is technically the mother of Kronos it would really make sense too because she literally cursed Adonis for disturbing her slumber in the Prince of Thrace episode lol, so Kronos probably gets his more malicious traits from his mother (and possibly Hades as well lol). But yeah, I can really see Gaia being proud of her youngest grandson finally getting the girl of his dreams lol! I feel like despite her more rude and sinister personality that she does love her grandkids and wants the best for them (and was probably pissed at her son for trying to eat her grandsons lol).
But fr, in the series Hercules never really mentioned anything about Gaia being his great grandmother (maybe he didn’t know? I’m not sure, like you’d think he’d know since he apparently spends a lot of time with his parents in the series and I’m sure Zeus has told him all about their family tree and whatnot), so I was like “maybe they’re not even related and Gaia is just her own thing, like not related to anybody or something?” because you’d think if she was his great grandmother that’d he’d be like “Please, it’s me Hercules! Your great grandson! Don’t curse my frenemy!” Right? Or that Gaia would recognize him as her great grandson. Lol but idk the animated series is weird like that lmao
But yeah, for ‘Til Death I actually ended up having Narcissus give Hades the daffodil since the scientific name for a daffodil is literally Narcissus, so I figured “oh he probably made it so everyone would look at it and think of him because he’s so full of himself” lol and Hades was like “Yeah, actually I need that for a girl I like.” and ends up putting an enchantment sorta spell on it to make Perspehone fall to the Underworld once it’s plucked from the ground (I remember from the Disney children’s book “Liar, Liar Head On Fire” it was mentioned that Hades has fire powers as well as alchemy powers, so he can create potions and curses and enchantments and whatnot lol). So yeah I just thought it’d be funny for Hades to sit there and have to negotiate and schmooze with Narcissus because he can’t get a flower from Persephone or Demeter, so he’s just there like:
Hades: Look, Narcissus, babe. I really need that little flower you own. Y’know, the one you let Demeter and Persephone spread around on Earth?
Narcissus: Oh, you mean my flower? The Narcissus daffodil? The gorgeous flower made by me and is just as gorgeous as me?
Hades: Uh…yeah sure whatever. Can I have it or what?
Narcissus: Hmmm, I don’t know…
Hades: Listen, Narci, can I call you Narci? It’s really important that I get that flower from ya. I mean, you are such a good looking, smart, and generous god after all. Just do me this solid, huh?
Narcissus: Yes, yes. I am all of those things aren’t I? Well, I suppose you could have one of my specialty flowers.
Hades: YES! I mean, uh, thanks, pal! You’re the best!
Narcissus: *looks at himself in his hand mirror* Yes, I know.

Persephone’s Beauty Blessing & Psyche’s Fate
(A Lore Olympus Theory)
After reading the final few chapters of lore Olympus before it’s mid season finale I noticed that some fans were upset about Persephone’s blessings she was given when she was born, particularly the blessing of beauty given to her twice.
As a reminder, when Persephone was born she was blessed with beauty from two goddesses: Hera the Queen of the gods & goddess of marriage and Aphrodite the goddess of love & beauty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though Aphrodite already blessed the young Persephone with beauty first, Demeter chose not to correct Hera or deny her blessing to Persephone, so instead she accepted that her daughter was blessed with beauty twice.
Personally, I see this as a funny explanation to why so many characters compare Persephone to Aphrodite throughout the story (as well as karma for Aphrodite for not paying attention or caring when she was just throwing out blessings of beauty all willy-nilly) but others thought otherwise and felt this made Persephone look more like a Mary Sue because she was blessed with beauty twice making her “prettier” and “more desirable” than the other goddesses and honestly I can understand their criticisms of that topic.
But as I thought about it, I realize that this is actually important information and could possibly tie into the story/myth of Eros and Psyche in Lore Olympus later in the series.
Why do I say that? Let’s recap!
Where we last left off on Eros and Psyche’s story, Eros finally discovered that the nymph Ampelus, who has been assisting his mother and helping him with his job, was actually Psyche in disguise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However while this may seem like the happy ending for the couple, those who know the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche know that this is NOT their happily ever after. Not yet as least. In fact in the original myth Aphrodite puts Psyche through multiple trials and tasks to have her prove herself to be worthy of being married to her son Eros.
In the myth Psyche was given 4 tasks:
Sort out a pile of seeds
Retrieve some golden fleece
Fill a flask with water
Go to the underworld and retrieve some of Persephone’s beauty
Psyche’s final task was to retrieve some of Persephone’s beauty and give it to Aphrodite so she can use the Queen of the Underworld’s beauty for herself (in some versions it’s just her make up or her beauty cream, but either way it’s roughly the same thing story wise).
Now let’s go back to the trial, specifically when Zeus finally gave his verdict. In his verdict Zeus punishes Persephone by banishing her to the moral realm to do her job as goddess of spring as well as her mother’s work as goddess of the harvest.
Two important additions for this theory is that Zeus added that the mortal realm will be no longer connected to the Underworld or Olympus as well as Persephone is not allowed to be in contact with any of the Gods and they cannot be in contact with her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here’s where my theory comes in:
After the trial, Aphrodite now knows why everyone would constantly compare Persephone to her and say the goddess of spring is more beautiful than her. It’s because she was blessed with beauty twice! Seeing this as unfair (and slight jealousy) and also discovering that her son Eros learned the truth about Psyche, Aphrodite decides to kill two birds with one stone. Still not approving of their relationship and the betrayal that broke her son’s heart in the first place, Aphrodite sends Psyche on a mission. She orders Psyche to find Persephone in the mortal realm (since no gods can be in contact with her or even go to the moral realm because of Zeus’ verdict, but the rule doesn’t apply to mortals like Psyche) and take back the beauty blessing Aphrodite gave Persephone when she was young. If she completes this task then her and Eros can finally be together.
Psyche would agree to the task, find Persephone in the mortal realm, and well, if you know the myth and then you know what Psyche’s fate will eventually be.

Finale chapter analysis [part 1.]
*There's a part 2, thought it'd be too long for mobile. I have no idea how to put a break on mobile.
*if anything is wrong leave a note. 😓
Zeus & Fertility
Why does Zeus have the power to take other god's & goddesses' powers?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Gods, their original powers are not given to them. They are the literal embodiment of their powers. Even if titles like "Spring" & "Harvest" are man-made they are still names after their abilities and vice versa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What makes it weird is that when Zeus banishes Kore. She breaks down into flowers. Like? I get banishing and teleportation but literal taking her power to control Harvest..?
The same for Zeus, his title as king was given to him by name eons ago because of his ambition for power and manipulating the seven traitors into giving it to him.
And if this is Zeus's power, why did he need to swallow a fertility goddess? Not to mention repating the cycle of swallowing people because of fear of "their" power, but he does not want to resemble his father okay...
(I don't want to continue because it'll most likely be cleared up and there's little info on what fertility is and Eris just...sigh..my head)
🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Hol on, did I read this right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It would be one thing if Gaia was not in the comic, but she's literally the embodiment of Earth...she's the Earth goddess...first generation, and the first fertility goddess and I hope in this edition the sister of Nyx.
And if Demeter is supposed to be the goddess of Earth would she need to vote for a realm she could control? She could've starved everyone. If she's like Gaia with this power...that means this is another original power of hers, but then again. Hera also had great power and was molded to be the goddess of Marriage.
Also, before the power stripping reveal, Zeus literally manipulates where his brothers wants to go, but now there's some voting system to grab realms when its Demeter?What?
A minor plot detail that brings up how much unnecessary power Zeus has. When he literally uses his wits all the time. There's no need to power boost his character now.
Also this power really lessens the impact of Demeter's winter wrath (hym?). The humans aren't fleshed out well in the plot. So besides direct influence of gods, (Hera, Eros, Artemis etc) how badly does this impact the gods realms altogether? Do they need praises?
Also how can Zeus cut off access to the underworld? I thought it was clear Olympus had no influence there? Or will Hades retaliate that?
🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Demter deserves better...
🍎 head
Tumblr media
Hades at his prehistoric age, made a stupid move. Demeter being Queen of the mortal realm would of given Hades a contract to have access together. They may quarrel another but Demeter is still a business woman. And Hades knows Zeus is worse to deal with.
But, that little shiver tells me he's still a coward...was that suppose to be cute?
You think after that bada** speech to his " friend's daughter, Kore. The chapter would let him confidently (with anger or not) explain himself like in the trial. He was fine making face and excuses to Demeter before...what happen?
Like does consistency exist with this guy?
Now his future wife is literally taken are we going to get another lackluster outburst or speech from King Hades against Zeus only for it to mean nothing again or will he allow him to do more?
Like he became too relax after those two days. Thise trial jokes aren't funny now, huh?
Where's "YouR WifE?" Now? Doing community service, huh?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way Demeter and Persephone is treated by this royal circle is annoying at.
Tumblr media
And Hera has the nerve to say she's scared of Demeter. Hera How about you THINK about why Demeter acts the way she does, now that you know your pairing a King with your sister's daughter, a fertility goddess. Knowing your...or yall mother was swallowed by yours and why Zeus acts the way he does.
I want nothing but retaliation and bangers next season. I don't even think there's enough time for side characters.
Artemis 🤕
And Persephone, after all this time with Hades, she still haven't the tiny urge to invest in being a fertility goddess or even ask? Esp. When Hades calls her one earlier.
Also, while bookkeeping pile up was never fixed yet. Persephone will have an actual job away from distractions maybe then she can discover what's actually going on herself instead of waiting for the next plot point to distract her.
We can see her acting more mature now and processing everything from her view point. Or it could be a crappy filler of her longing for her Hades. LETS GAMBLE!
🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Jan 2. Happy New Years ANTI LO
The best panel is with Metis and Demeter but alas, there's a ten pic limit.
Also...are Demeter, Hestia and Hera sisters now? Its getting confusing. I know there's evidence in the blog but are we backtracking now?

Love Letters
Pairing: Hermes!Randy x Hades!Lizzy
Summary: For sometime now the rule of the Underworld had been receiving love letters from a secret admirer. What will happen when the latest letter says they want to meet face to face at an upcoming party? Will she find out who it is finally or maybe it was some cruel prank?
“Who’s my big scary boi, who’s my good hellhound; you are, yes you are,” I cooed as I was sitting on the floor playing with Rufus and ruffling the fur on his three heads. Cupping the middle head showering him in kisses he let out a happy bark. “Whoa whoa whoa,” I suddenly heard a panicked voice shouting as when I looked over I witnessed Randy came flying out of a portal that was in the air as he went crashing into something. I couldn’t help but giggle as it was good to see some things just don’t change. Starting to get up from where I was sitting I adjusted the skirt of my dress before going over to check on him.
“Hello Randy, lively of an entrance as always I see,” I said as he was laying on the large vases he had knocked over when he fell. “H-Hello, Hermes here to- hehe deliver letters,” he said, seeming slightly out of it before shaking his head and seeming back to his usual self. Giving him a hand in getting up he dusted himself off before giving me a big hug and then reaching into his satchel bag afterwards. Taking the small pile of enclosed letters I thanked the god of travel. “So anything fun happen here lately,” I heard Randy inquire, which I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Not really. Though I will say that uhhh- crap what’s his face... Umm Hercules boy, tiger ears-”
“Oh you mean Ted,”
 “Ah yes him thank you, Ted did try to get in again. Truly a poor idea on his part, thinking he could pose a threat to me in my own domain; what a foolish boy. But other than that it’s been a little boring around here,” I replied, taking a seat on my long lounge chair. Looking at the first enclosed letter I put it aside recognizing the familiar pink wax seal with a small flower in it that belonged to Caesar, most likely another poor attempt to flirt with me. “Demeter complaining about Elias’ late return,” I said chuckling to myself though I felt a bit bad that my best friend had to hear an earful about being late. Glancing over another letter I let out a small groan as of course it was Albert’s invitation to one of his monthly parties. “Oh are you going this month,” I heard Randy excitedly ask as I looked up at him as he came taking a seat besides me. Shrugging my shoulders I put the letter aside as I looked at the pastel pink haired god.
“Nah I don’t think so.”
“Awww but you didn’t come to last month or the month before last month’s party! It’ll be so much fun we can even prank Klausy and a couple of the others!”
“As much as I do love pranking the goddess of the harvest, there really isn’t a reason for me to go there. And let's be honest aside from you, Elias, and Albert there are only a few other gods and goddesses that actually like me,” I said leaning back and letting out a small yawn. Maybe it was how being in solitude for so long just became normal; do I enjoy getting visitors, absolutely but do I desire to go outside of the Underworld to mingle with a mass of other beings… No not really. “Come on please for me! It’s been forever since we’ve actually gotten to hang out,” I heard Randy plea to me, making that pouting face of his that was just silly yet very cute. Giggling I shook my head as I looked back down to see who the last letter was from. Staring at the wax seal it was the one that had belonged to the mysterious individual who’s been sending such sweet and adoring letters to which I carefully opened.
“My dearest Lizzy,
The world has hidden the most beautiful gem away from the light, yet even in the darkness you glisten ever so brightly and beautifully. Truly I hope all has been well down below as I have deeply missed hearing your contagious laughter that is sweeter than any siren’s song. No longer do I desire to hide behind feeble paper and ink to convey the admiration and love I harbor for you my dearest. So I shall hope you grace us with your presence at this monthly gathering so we can finally speak face to face.
With love, your secret admirer”
I couldn’t help but smile softly while reading the letter, but surprised that whoever the god or goddess was wanted to finally reveal themselves. “Oooh is that from that secret admirer again,” I heard Randy’s voice which snapped me out of my brief train of thoughts and caused me to move the letter closer to my chest so he couldn’t snoop. “Well yes, whoever it is said they’d like to meet up at this months gathering,” I replied as I could feel a small fluttering feeling, but I also couldn’t help but feel that grim sickening feeling that all of these letters were nothing but a ruse to humiliate me in front of the other gods and goddesses. “You should go then! No you HAVE to go now that your admirer wants to confess in person,” He said in an encouraging manner as I let out a small sigh and slouch debating what to do. Yes I’ve been feeling all but joy and how my heart would melt at the loving messages that I received, but of course I still had my doubts and not only even that… Whoever this being is, are my feelings even in the right place because as of recent with the more times Randy has come to visit and spend time with me in his free time I couldn’t help but recognize my growing feelings for him. Thinking it over for a little bit and feeling his eyes on me I decided there was only one way I would be able to sort all of this out. “Fine I’ll go,” I answered, followed up by Randy’s excited cheer and his bright smile.
~~~~~~
The days seemed to pass by slowly, but today was finally the day of the party to which I had mixed feelings about. Even while fixing up my hair slightly I debated about not going at the last minute mentally, but I knew one way or another I couldn’t hide from this forever… As even if I decided to not go today I feel that when next month comes around Albert would drag me by force if that was the case as it wouldn’t be the first time the silver haired god has done that. Letting out a sigh I look in the mirror before starting to walk away from the vanity; waving a hand to create a portal to take me to Olympus I walked through it until my familiar dark and gloomy surroundings turned into a bright and more lively setting. “Lizzy you finally came,” I heard Albert’s all too cheerful voice loudly say from behind and before I could turn around an arm was wrapped around my shoulders and squishing me into a hug.
“Yes yes now if you could release me now that’d be lovely,” I said letting out a small huff patting his back lightly. He only laughed and squeezed me tighter before finally releasing me allowing myself to smooth down the material of my dress. Already feeling others staring I decided to ignore them as I walked around to see if I could find one of my friends or maybe a place to kind of hide for a bit. Thankfully I bumped into Elias which we pretty much stuck together and just kinda hung out occasionally talking with some of the other gods and goddesses. I would look around to keep an eye out for Randy since I was yet to see him as I could only assume he got busy with some deliveries or something. “Well if it isn’t the lovely Hades, the world must be coming to an end if you’re gracing us all with your presence,” I heard a voice say for me to see the god of war himself Vain. Letting out a fake laugh I playfully rolled my eyes knowing he was simply teasing. “Oh yes haha so funny. If you’re to be saying that about anyone from the Underworld it should be Tartarus whenever she decides to finally come up to join the party,” I shot back before exchanging a small hug with the long haired pinkette.
As the party went on I did dance to a couple of songs as so far no one has come to be claiming to be my secret admirer nor have I seen Randy yet. With doubts slowly forming in my brain I spaced out a little the overthinking had begun. “So the god of the Underworld came crawling out to join us,” I heard the familiar voice that took me out of my thoughts as much to my displeasure as it was Demeter. “Oh Demeter please hold your excitement as I know how much you just love seeing my pretty face,” I retorted as of all the beings here it had to be him that had to come bother me. “I don’t understand why we just can’t get along,” I said after letting out a small sigh and crossing my arms over my chest as Klaus stared down at me. “You very well know why as I will stand by what I told you when we first met; it doesn’t matter what generation of Hades you are, you ALL will be the same,” he said reiterating himself as I rolled my eyes as this man was truly hard headed; I wonder if his brain got turned to stone by a Medusa, heh rocks for brains.
Going back and forth with Klaus was not doing anything good for my temper as I wasn’t angry, I was more frustrated and upset if anything. “I don’t think you fully understand how lucky you are Klaus,”
“Don’t call me by my name.”
“No, I will keep calling you by your name! You’re fortunate enough to not only have been reunited with your siblings from your mortal life but to be able to remember them too; not many of us get that high of a luxury. Just because our roles have had bad history doesn’t mean we have to too,” I continued glaring up at the taller blonde trying to make a point. “Whoa hey there! Sorry I’m so late to the party,” a cheerful voice said, cutting into the argument as getting between us appeared Randy. “It’s unlike you to be late Hermes,” I heard Klaus say as I could only roll my eyes, at this point I wasn’t in the mood anymore to be around others so I just decided to walk off. Ending up outside on one of the balconies I leaned on the railing and looked up at the night sky letting out a breath feeling whatever I had pent up come out. I wonder if the skies always looked this beautiful at night; did the stars shine this brightly when I was human.
“Oh Lizzy there you are,” I heard Randy’s voice calling as when I stood up straight to turn around there he was coming up to me with his usual smile. “Hey,” I greeted him with a small smile of my own giving him a short hug when he got close enough. “Sooo how are you enjoying the party,” he asked his smile now turning into a goofy grin as usually it would give me a small laugh, but I wasn’t really feeling it right now. I gave a small shrug as I simply said, “I mean I was having a good time but really… I think me coming here was a mistake, I should have just stayed in the Underworld.”
“Wait what?! Why would you say that, you have every right to be here like everyone else!”
“Yeah I know. As getting to spend time with some of the others was nice but… After the encounter with Klaus kinda put me out of a party mood and I’m yet to know who my secret admirer is. Honestly I should have known better that the letters were just a joke, I don’t know what I was even thinking,” I answered letting my shoulders drop. Moving away from the railing I let out a small stretch before starting to walk. “H-Hey where are you going,” I heard Randy ask in what sounded like a panicked manner though I didn’t bother to turn back around. “I know we didn’t really get to hang out here at the party, but I’m just gonna head- huh,” I started to explain until I suddenly felt my wrist be grabbed and carefully tugged back and when I turned to look behind me I was greeted to the sight of his brown eyes that held a soft sadness to him. “Please don’t go, I really want you to stay. We didn’t even get to dance together. If you won’t stay for the others will you at least stay for me,” he asked as he still held my wrist in a gentle manner as there was that familiar fluttering feeling in my chest. Slightly pouting I glanced away feeling my cheeks grow warm, how could I say no when he was making such a sad face like that.
“I-I guess I can stay a little while longer,” I responded as on the brighter side of things, at least I’d be able to hang out more with Randy. Looking up I saw he was back to his bright smile, actually it appeared to be bigger than usual. “That’s great! Oh I almost forgot I have something for you,” he cheered before he remembered whatever it was that he had which curiously I slightly tilted my head to the side wondering what it could be. Letting go of my wrist he put his hand inside his satchel and watching as he dug around his eyes appeared to glitter and pulled out a long box. “Here it is! Open it,” he said happily while handing it over to me as I carefully took it with both hands. Looking up at him briefly I looked down to the box as I could only wonder what little trinket he got me this time. Opening it with one hand a soft creek sound came from the box as my eyes widened at the sight of what it was; it was a beautiful necklace as there was a glass heart attached to it as inside was a soft yellow glow. “Randy this is so beautiful where did you get this,” I said peeking up at him for a second before looking back down to carefully take it out so I could put it on. During the process of trying to put it on I could hear him let out a bit of a nervous laugh.
“Ahaha well actually more like I had it made just for you… I actually uhh asked a personal favor of Helios to give me a little bit of sunlight and Hephaestus was kind enough to create the enclosure to keep it safe,” he answered as I was surprised to hear he went through all of that for me I was going to ask him why but then I heard him speak up again. “To think you couldn’t grow any more beautiful you keep proving me wrong, my dearest.” Completely freezing after having finally successfully clipped the back of the necklace but also hearing that specific nickname that was used in so many of the letters hit hard when the reality of what was happening right now. Looking up I was already feeling tears swell up as there Randy was now standing right in front of me. “It’s been you… All this time,” I slowly asked as it almost felt too good to be true.
‘Yeah it-it’s been me. Hehe surprise- w-wait Lizzy why are you crying,” he started to say confirming until he sounded panicked when I started crying. Feeling his warm hands wipe the tears away I felt his forehead rest against mine. “S-Sorry! They’re happy tears I promise haha… Why didn’t you say so sooner,” I apologized and laughed a little as it was a little silly of me to cry like this. “Well I wanted to make sure when I told you in person that it was romantic,” he softly said before adding “Because I am serious about this, I really do love you Lizzy. Something about you that very first day resonated with my heart and it only grew the more I got to know you; with all my heart I love you. And I’m really really sorry about being late to the party” Before I could say anything in response I felt lips pressed against my own as I could smell the strong scent of sweets coming from him. After the kiss being broken I saw how pink his face was and couldn’t help but giggle from how cute he looked though my face was probably a lot worse. “Well it was better now than never showing up and I love you too Randy,” I replied, giving him a hug enjoying the warmth. I may not be able to change a lot of things or the bonds with certain individuals, but this was the beginning of living my happiest life the best I could.
Recent Shadowbringers story has me speculating a bit on Convocation of the Fourteen relative to mythology and I think I got stuff.
Heads up this spoils like crazy.
IIRC it got confirmed that the Convocation members got Greek names, although I don’t remember if they were all named for the pantheon or not.
But since Hades gets referred to using abilities known as Titanomachy in particular I’m gonna lean hard toward YES.
Who is which god though? What’s even happening? I have a few ideas and in order to explore ‘em a bit will list the names and details that strike me as particularly important. A point of note though, Hades is not an Olympian within mythology. One of the original gods born of Rhea and Cronos yes, but he literally drew the short stick that said “congrats you get to live alone among the dead have fun”.
Zeus: Youngest of six siblings born to Rhea and Cronos. Drew lots with Poseidon and Hades, wound up getting dominion over the sky as king of the gods. Had loads and loads of sex. Strongly affiliated with lightning.
Hera: Hands down has the title of pissiest of the gods, which is fuckin’ saying something. This is like 98% because she’s the goddess of marriage, childbirth, women, family, and fidelity while being married to Zeus the fuckhead. Youngest daughter of the six siblings born to Rhea and Cronos. Associated with the peacock. Commonly transformed her husband’s lovers into animals and IIRC had some ties to storms but I might be misremembering. Also notable for having given birth to Ares with Zeus legitimately (who no one likes except Aphrodite) and Hephaestus alone. She threw Hephaestus down the side of a mountain because he came out ugly iirc.
Poseidon: God of the seas, water, storms, earthquakes, and horses. Middle son of the six siblings born to Rhea and Cronos, when he drew straws with Zeus and Hades he got dominion over the oceans.
Demeter: Goddess of the harvest, fertility, motherhood, agriculture, nature, and the seasons. Middle daughter of the six siblings born to Rhea and Cronos. Hades abducted and married her daughter Persephone and she got next level pissed about it, made the world cold and barren (winter) until Persephone was returned.
Athena: Born from Zeus and Metis, confirmed more powerful than Zeus. Metis had a prophecy where any child she bore would be more powerful than the father, so of course Zeus had to stick his dick in that. Later became filled with regret and fear when it turned out Metis was pregnant, turned her into a fly and ate her. Fast forward a bit and Metis gives birth to Athena inside of Zeus, and Athena explodes fully formed and adult complete with armor out of Zeus’ head. Athena has some duality with Ares as they’re both war gods and both technically born from Zeus. Athena is goddess of wisdom, handicraft (like weaving), and strategic warfare. Virgin goddess.
Apollo: God of the sun/light and the arts, also certain kinds of performance including music, poetry, philosophy. Notable in that his golden arrows were not nearly so painful as the silver ones favored by Artemis. Twins with Artemis. Also majorly known for being associated with both plague and healing as well as prophecy. Prophecy comes up in particular through the Oracle of Delphi. Notably the reason to Dionysus’ madness in some philosophy.
Artemis: Goddess of the hunt, twins with Apollo, uses silver arrows that hurt like a motherfucker compared to the golden ones her brother favors. A virgin goddess associated with the moon, wilderness, childbirth, protection, and plague. Worth noting she could be super super pissy and did in fact turn a man into a deer to be mauled to death and eaten by his own hounds because he accidentally caught her bathing.
Ares: God of war as in slaughter and bloodlust, also of violence and “manly virtues” as in his dick r big. Has weird sibling energy with Athena because they represent dramatically different aspects of war. Only loved by Aphrodite, literally no one else likes him.
Aphrodite: Goddess of love and beauty and fucking, top tier manipulator, also affiliated with pleasure, passion, fertility, and desire. Married to Hephaestus but not at all happy about it, has a pretty open affair with Ares. Sometimes she’s a daughter of Zeus but usually she was born from the universe’s castrated dick being thrown into the ocean and making a ton of sea foam which became her.
Hephaestus: Smith of the gods, master craftsman and god of the forge. Also associated with invention, fire, and volcanos. Didn’t really cheat on Aphrodite despite her cheating on him hard. Was rejected by his mother Hera for being too ugly and was literally crippled by her.
Hermes: Messenger of the gods, a trickster, god of travelers and athletes, guide to the dead, has fucking WILD cults dedicated to him to this day including fucktons of alchemists and just Hermeticism as a whole. In other words also the god of new age and magicK. Not magic, emphasis on the k because that’s what the modern magicians in their funny hats do when they’re feeling edgy.
Hestia: Eldest of six siblings born to Rhea and Cronos. Goddess of the hearth, being fire and the home. Has probably the least amount of drama out of all the gods ever, and while that isn’t necessarily saying a lot she seriously had no drama. Possibly relinquished her seat among the Olympians to Dionysus in some stories. Was notably a virgin and had a major following of priestesses in Rome consisting of the Vestal Virgins.
Dionysus: If there is a god of chaos and insanity besides Eris it is him. God of drunks and performance and opulence/excess/parties, notably has a philosophical contrast with Apollo as the madness to his reason. Top hedonist. Has a group of violently crazy women who worship him called the Bacchantes. Do not understate violently crazy bit they have torn people to shred with their bare hands.
Hades: We know this is Emet-Selch already and have more lore on how he visualizes souls/the Lifestream (interesting term given rivers of the dead in Greek myth, though not exclusive concept to Greek myth)/the Underworld. Eldest son of the six siblings born to Rhea and Cronos, though he is younger than Hestia.
Another point of note--there are, classically, TWELVE Olympian gods and then Hades. Why then one extra and how suspicious is that with our Convocation of 14?
Normally, like I mentioned Hestia is an original member who essentially gives her seat up for Dionysus. But she’s also a much quieter goddess within mythological stories, so while she could be included it’s also possible that another god or goddess is being used to reach fourteen.
First, I’m gonna go on a limb here and say I think Lahabrea is either Apollo or Ares, but leaning heavily toward Apollo. The orator thing fits, his role within being crazy good/productive in creating concepts makes some sense (I mentioned possibly Ares because he has an affinity for certain weapons too which makes me squint), and with how much the Ascians have referenced things being foretold or prophesized at least one of them is required to have ties with that ability. Additionally, Apollo being tied to plague when there the Terminus event going on and people are speculating that creation magics had something to do with the cause has me unbelievably suspicious.
I am also going to say that I think it’s possible Elidibus is Hermes. Emissary-->Messenger as well as having a pattern of being a trickster or liar makes a lot of sense. Also interesting in that one of his other functions is as psychopomp, or escort of the dead. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was the one responsible for raising new sundered Ascians.
I also think that if Lahabrea is Apollo, Igeyorhm might really be Artemis for that twin thing + their Ascian Prime misadventure. The impulsivity makes a bit of sense for her too, as does the fact that she fucked up the entire thirteenth shard while being tied to plague. If I thought Lahabrea was Hermes I’d have pitched Igeyorhm as Aphrodite purely because it’s myth canon they made a hermaphroditic child together one time, but I don’t think that makes as much sense.
I don’t think the game is putting as much emphasis on the three kings setup for Ascians with Zeus/Poseidon/Hades because Lahabrea and Elidibus don’t really fit into the roles of Zeus or Poseidon either of them. FFXIV associates lightning with judgment in a cool way but it gets stressed really hard that Elidibus is just supposed to be an Emissary and Lahabrea has other gods he fits with better. I honestly think the ones who remained unsundered just happened to be the ones who got missed rather than that particular trio.
On WoL, there are plenty of fans having fun speculating that WoL is Persephone in the name of shipping lol. It’s maaaaaaaaybe possible because she’s goddess of spring, renewal, rebirth, nature, and the underworld. And she also goes back and forth between spending time with Hades and spending time with her mother. So that whole MIA thing might work.
Halmarut being all about plants I’ll bet 100% is Demeter. No one else makes sense.
Nabriales if he does use lightning like I remember might be Zeus, which explains his attempted sleaziness a bit and his inferiority complex being one of the sundered. But I’m a bit doubtful because he seems like he has too big of an ego to have potentially been in charge of Amaurot at any point ever. His personality and eagerness to fight remind me more of Ares. Also no one likes him lol. Dionysus strikes me as most likely overall because it would explain him being pissed at being under Lahabrea as well as his whole attitude.
Mitron is Poseidon. Cannot be anyone else, he is all about oceans and fishes. Strongest case for Elidibus and Lahabrea not being tied to the other two kings--Mitron literally cannot be anyone but Poseidon.
Who is WoL though?
Currently my big guesses are Dionysus if Nabriales isn’t (as a foil to Lahabrea-Apollo), Zeus (mightiest of the gods, lightning of judgment and huge badass), Persephone (the creation and underworld thing is neat and who even knows), maaaaaaaaaaybe Hestia because of the primordial light/fire bit, being oldest, and just not being about the drama.
I know basically nothing about Altima besides her being there but would be more inclined to figure her for Athena than any other goddess purely because SE seems to be going with matching gender stuff and with a name like Altima I’m doubtful about other goddesses fitting better. Hera is the only one beside Athena who could maybe own that.
If anyone else has knowledge/notes on Ascians and can chime in on what seems fitting feel free!
The cost of the Pomegranate
Hello and I hope you all will enjoy this story, it is part of my book I am writing. This the first chapter
Chapter 1 - The deal
     Hades had spent the last century as a solidarity god, as he had not seen the surface for over 1000 years. The way his brother had decided to run the pantheon had made him retreat, along with the rumors of what they spoke of him. After the war with the Titians mortals feared him because he mostly resembled his father Cronos, the tyrant king of the Titans. He gave up trying to convince them that he was not like his father but his own person.
Hades was the oldest of the three brothers and by birthright should have ascended to the throne of Olympus. He did not aspire to but knew of his birthright, so when Zeus has suggested they draw lots he thought nothing of it. He was one for fairness and justice, so they drew lots and he got the underworld the opposite of what he wanted. Hades had been bitter in the early days, as both brothers walked away with what he thought at the time great prizes, while he was casted to the underworld to be alone for centuries. He over the centuries had begun to retreat from his family and the mortal world.  He would go to counsel in the early days for they all had a fair voice but as the century went in Zeus offspring claimed their own voiced in the counsel he retreated. He got tired for their games, the looks at him and their biting words. Hades over time never corrected what was being spread about him, as his demeanor become cold and indifferent.
Hades was one to keep those he trusted close and, his those he hated as far as way as he can. He knew that he needed to interact with the gods as they always need something, and that is when they thought of him.  The way the gods interfered with the mortal loves was sickening to him.  Instead of being a model of how to behave and furthering their race, they played, destroyed and used them at their whims.  There were very few deities who valued the importance of the mortals that worshipped them.  Hades was one of those gods that to him he felt that the mortals should be treated much better as they are one of the life-lines to the gods.  The Olympian gods needed constant worship to maintain their power, as he did not require that to keep his power. Hades kingdom grew as those very mortals gave up their lives, or they died, and Thanatos claimed their souls.
Hades kingdom was massive as all soul’s immortal and mortal alike came to him. He had become very power right underneath his younger brothers nose. He held two-third of the gods immortality.  Ambrosia and the very nectar the gods consume all come from a very special plant in Elysian. Demeter his younger sister half the other third of their immortality as she was in charge of the humans.  Hades had not bragged about this control, but he knew his brothers secretly new that is why they had left him alone to his own devices.  He knew that at one point this would come into hand, where he could upper hand his brothers.
  Hades had been on his throne when the familiar flutter of wings could be heard, and he knew exactly who it was. Hermes the god messenger, had been pestering him as per orders to Zeus. Zeus king of the gods wanted hades to come to the harvest festival. He held this festival every year the bounty was plentiful, and it was. Hades finally gave in when he found out that Persephone Demeter’s daughter would be in attendance.  He recalls the last time he had seen her, as she was only 10 years of age, and was lost on Olympus. The poor young goddess was very curious about the world around her, so she would leave her mother’s protective grasp. Persephone had run into him as she had not watched where she was going, and he to the surprise of the other gods, was understanding. Hades that day spent some time with her, but soon her mother found her and scolded her for running off. He remembered the way the child looked at her mother, and how she felt disappointed to leave. His heart had been touched because no one wanted to be around him. Everyone feared the Lord of the Underworld, but not this beautiful child in front of him. She instead wanted to know more about him and talk to him as if he was her best of friend. When they parted, and he return to his world he thought of her, but as with time soon forgot the event that happened between them.
  He went this day to the harvest festival as his brother wouldn’t leave him alone. Zeus had requested his presence something he did not dare disobey so he rose up from the underworld and joined his so-called family. Hades prepared for this day as he wore the finest clothing he had.  He wore a striking deep blue with a gold belt He looked around and Olympus was decorated to the nine, such a stark contrast to his home. As he walked the cobblestone gods would gasp and he brushed them off as he reached the tallest temple. The temple of the gods Zeus home.
  Persephone's eyes glinted over the vast landscape before her. Beauty and abundance glimmering in her classic features. Her silhouette the very definition of grace. Her smile was the silken ivory of the pearls adorning her neck, her laugh was like bells on a Sunday morning. A class act, with stars in her eyes and beads of promise adorning the very essence of her. Of all of the gems, she was the most priceless. She was helping her mother, as Demeter tended to the flowers of the land. Her beautiful voice echoing in all of its immaculate perfection, as she tended to her duties. Persephone's smile was genuine but the brooding in her eyes was becoming evident. She was becoming rather bored of her mother's watchful gaze, her protective nature shielding her from any onlooker to cross her path. Youth resided in her features. The light dusting of freckles cascading her face just over the brim of her nose. She bit her lip with a sigh as she toyed with the dandelion between her fingers bringing it to her lips as her heart whispered a silent wish and the fluffy white spores dispersed as the wind carried them. Just once she wished Demeter would loosen the reins. She fell back into the grass with her hands falling at her sides as she breathed in the atmosphere and exhaled her thoughts. Her long reddish blonde hair falling in waves around her.
  Demeter was the goddess of the grain and fertility as she always thought it was funny given that she only had one child at the moment. She loved her daughter so much, but she had so much fear that her daughter would fall to the same fate as her that she strangled her freedom. She had nymphs watching her constantly so that she would not be left to her own devices. She had learned as Persephone grew she has gained Zeus ability to be curious and wanting new experiences. Demeter made sure she curbs that by keeping her guarded and naïve. Demeter was a beautiful goddess with green eyes, and red auburn hair, which she got from her mother Rhea. She always wore conservative clothing as she didn’t want to be eyes to any of the gods that couldn’t keep it in their chiton “Persephone, come here please we have been summoned to Olympus for a harvest festival in our honor. This was one I couldn’t say no to.” She said looking at her daughter and showing her the golden envelopes, so she can read it. “we have about 3 hours to get ready, listen to me carefully you are not to speak to anyone there. All those gods and goddess are like wolves I do not trust them around you “She said as she motioned her to follow her to the house, so she can see the dress she had made for her.
  “Yes, mother." Persephone sighed taking the envelope into her hands as she read the letters. She was growing effortlessly tired of her mother's protective droning. She felt alone in a world of pretty faces, more often than she didn't. She was naïve. Her mother kept her that way, but she was far from stupid. Persephone followed along with her mother skipping beside her as she took her hand linking their fingers together. Her aura was quite childlike at times. She jabbered on about the festival and who would be there as they went. She was excited to see the dress that her mother had fashioned for her. She wasn't sure what to think about the festival. She never had much fun at those kinds of things any way she was always under her mother's watchful eyes, and more often than not her thumb
  Demeter watched her daughter and caresses her face very carefully as she was her most precious possession. She kept her daughter naïve because she didn’t want her to fall into the same tricks she was out into When you are there you are to stand by myside. Dear do not drink anything you are not supposed to. She said as she showed her a beautiful golden dress. The pattern was intricate Dear please do not Entertain them or make them think that you are interested in them or they will eat you alive. She said as she started to prepare her daughter. Miasma and Kalin please help Persephone get ready and have her meet me in about 10 minutes. You have not traverse the aether so you will he dizzy and disoriented it is normal until you get used to it but that won’t be happening unless you are with me deal
  Persephone slipped into her gown and knotted her hair into a long braid, weaving flowers through the center of it. She looked grown up and beautiful. She could have cried as she saw herself. She felt like a woman. She was more than accustomed to her mother making her feel like a little girl, and she always played along. Sweet, innocent, quiet, Obedience was law. She smiled as one of the girls clasped her necklace around her neck. If only they knew of the secrets swimming around in her head. She wanted to feel. She longed to feel the weight of a heavy heart in her chest. She'd stolen a book once When her mother wasn't looking or found it rather and never returned it. It was full of tales of love and triumph. She wanted that. She wanted to fall in love and be swept away as any girl does, a fate she feared that with her mother by her side she would never capture. Never the less, she was curious, and she was determined. Persephone made her way out to her mother as she'd finally finished getting ready and took her hand as Demeter took a look at her spinning her around. The vibrant gold of the dress was absolutely stunning. The patterns were intricate and divine. She felt exquisite.
  Demeter entered the room as she had left to give her daughter privacy they she needed. Demeter decided to dress up for this affair, as it was a festival honoring both of them. She wore a beautiful orange dress to match her daughters. This particular dress in speaking was made of the finest silk and was woven to look like the sun was setting. The dress was stunning to say the least. She wore girl bangles and rings with a pendant having her symbol. Beauty was definitely on the grain goddess side. Many desired her but she looked the other way, for she was not interested in her kinds trickery. She always made it a point to point it out to her child. Men only care about one thing and once they have it they move on. “beautiful, stunning you look like a true princess more so then your other sisters. “she said as she placed a golden wreath on her daughters head. “Now we must depart before your father sends in the Calvary” she grasped her daughter hand tight and instructs.” Keep holding tight as we are traveling different planes to get to Olympus. Keep your mind focus on going to Olympus. “she said as she teleported them to Olympus in one easy flow. Once there she smiled at her daughter as their feet landed in the main entrance to the hall of the gods. Demeter gave time for Persephone to process what just happened and to place her foot on the firm floor. “how you feeling? Do not need you getting all queasy inside my dear “she said softly as she observed her daughter for any signs of getting sick.
  Hades watched her action and he smiled as she wasn’t scared of him or being alone with him. Many gods feared him because they assume he was cold and indifferent. He was but that was because of how others treated him “ I know she would not , that is why she kept you hidden, I like you Persephone you are not like most goddess . Yes ,I like you being Coy , when you do it it’s adorable when others do it they have ulterior motives . Your mother was right about our relatives you have to be weary do not trust easily here in Olympus. They are nice to your face but quick to cut you down and your reputation. “ he said as he agreed with Demeter. It was a shame their relationship went to the waste side when she had her daughter
Hades felt her take his hand and she started to trace his lines and each touch sent shivers down his spine and he felt very warm to her touch. Hades eyes her as he grasp her hand as he noticed she fit perfect to his hand and he clasped them . He pulled her towards him and smiled at her , and was brave enough to lean down and kissed her softly then brushing his lips on hers . He then leaned away not to scare her .
  Persephone's eyes fluttered closed as he took her hands and brushed his lips against hers softly. She wasn't startled. Simply surprised by the notion. She opened her eyes watching his cautious gaze as he leaned away and she smiled placing her hands on either side of his face as she brought her face to his kissing him deeply. It felt as if she'd kissed him a million times. Their lips morphing together as if one was made for the other. Persephone's skin erupted with chills as the fire of the kiss burned between them. Finally, she pulled away. Breathless and beaming she bit her bottom lip, feeling her skin begin to flush faintly. "I'm sorry- I don't know what came over me." She said sweetly. She knew her mother would have blamed it on the sensual nature of a God. She knew that she would assume Persephone had been tricked, but that wasn't it at all. Hades and Persephone had just fallen together. Two pin points on a road map that met in the middle. Two different trains with one stop. Hades seemed inevitable. All of him. Everything.
  Hades watched her as he began to kiss her deeper his hands cupped her face so that he was able to enjoy the sensation she provided . Hades body was on fire from just kissing her . Hades never had such an Intense reaction from any kiss he had gotten . When they both broke the kiss he was breathing irregular and had pushed her tight to him . He kept the moan to him as he felt her soft body on his . He stepped back and just allowed himself to cool down . He definitely was attracted to her and desired her that was evident in his actions and his body reaction. Hades smiled as she was flushed and her lips were swollen with the intensity of the kiss . “ why are you apologizing you can not help your bodies respond , I am sorry for know I got to do better I let it get to far . You just met me and I am here practically sticking my tongue down your throat . Just know I don’t do this to just anyone , you are the only one who’s made me have that much reaction . “ hades said as he kissed her hand again and smiled . “Your mother would kill me and call me a pervert if she saw this . We are running out of time aphie and Ares will only keep her occupied for so long . I would love to see you again .” He said as that was when he was going to take her . He now had to have her no matter what and would not share .
  You aren't a pervert, And most of it is my fault." She laughed smiling as he kissed her hand. "I'd follow you anywhere, I'd love to see you again." She said softly watching his eyes. Her mother would be absolutely furious. Her father she wasn't sure one way or another. Her thoughts were racing as her heart rate fought to become normal again. She still had chills littering her arms. Her face beyond flushed at this point. She couldn't explain the emotions she was feeling. She'd lost her mind. Thoughts swam whimsically in her head as she watched him. She didn't want to say goodbye to him. She was having too much fun. He made her happy, but she knew that he was right. Her mother would be along soon enough, and possibly seething if she found out.
  Thank you Persephone, but I will give advice to you don’t trust any make gods here . The males here including my two brothers only care about one thing and that is getting in the sheets with whoever they want regardless if you want or not . “ He said as caresses her face. He was in awe as she was still having a hard time regulating her body . He know knew that his thoughts would be consumed by this beauty he had In front of him . He caresses her face and looked into her eyes . “ I would never hurt you nor do anything that you would not approve” he said as he kept his touch light as he kept feeling the electricity between them . He heard Demeter in the background looking for daughter and sighed as he turned towards her . “ meet me tomorrow near that pomegranate tree your mother he near your house . Make sure to come when she is busy with her duties and I can see you then. “ hades said as he knew she would come . He was nervous in how things would go and play out . What if she didn’t like his realm and she hated him. What if she saw him a monster because he was plucking her from her fields and sun . He had so many fears and how things could go wrong . Now go before your mother cuts this before it even starts “ he said turning her so she can go inside
  Persephone smiled as she pulled away from him her fingers leaving him suddenly. She noted how cold she felt without his hand in hers she blew him a soft kiss as she turned away gracefully walking out of the garden and away from Hades. She was soon in her mother's arms as Demeter hugged her tightly. "Persephone where were you? I was so worried?" She said frantically as she held her daughter close. "I was picking flowers mother, don't worry." She smiled handing her the tulip she'd plucked free from a patch of wildflowers. "This one is for you." She smiled placing it into her mother's hair. Thoughts of Hades flooded her mind as she bit her lip remembering how it'd felt to kiss him. Her body pushed flush against his. Her head was spinning as she remembered the way she felt. The sighs. The panting. It was unlike she'd ever felt before. It was the desire she had read about so many times before.
Ambrosia Ch. 2
Demeter was every bit as frustrating as Hades remembered her to be, going on and on about her many grievances- mostly related to Hade’s own siblings- as she confirmed the shipments of spiced wine for this evening's festivities. Hades was eternally grateful Demeter wasn’t known for being socially inclined, as it would put a dent in Hades plans should the Harvest Goddess catch her stealing away her son for an evening. If he was genuine about wanting to join her, that is.
Why had she asked him? She wasn't certain. The words left her mouth before her mind could truly balance the weight of them. She desired to see the man again, she was sure. She tended to know the desires of others, but rarely did she stop to consider her own. ‘Why’ still bounced around her head, rattling her thoughts. Had she been feeling impulsive? Did the thought of mourning through one of her Brother's unnecessarily extravagant parties alone bother her that much? Was she simply bored? She didn't know. All she knew was that in the moment, the thought of being strung around the young man all evening sounded like a delightful venture.
But it also felt so, so wrong.
It was a lie, a lovely one, one that wasn’t necessarily a lie, but still a lie. He didn’t know her name, her title. Something about that was thrilling, new. A change to her mostly static life. Withholding information wasn’t kin to anything good. Most definitely not the kind of way to start… well, whatever she had started.
Her nails flexed against her palm, a nasty habit she’d developed when the strain of her duties seemed to lay too heavily against her shoulders. She didn’t usually find herself at such conflict. She mostly kept to herself, rarely stirred any trouble like her siblings. She wondered why this strange man she’d met hardly hours ago seemed to be weighing heavily on her mind. She couldn’t remember the last time someone had caught her eye so fiercely, but for what? Just what did she intend to do with him after tonight? Was she just curious about the dark haired man and his cocky smiles?
“Idiot.” She cursed herself, why was she putting so much thought into this? She found some guy pulling weeds out in the woods and asked him to join her at Zeus’s party, that’s all. It wasn’t like she asked him to marry her or even to bed her. She simply asked for his company. Why did it require so much contemplation? She was overthinking it, as she tended to do. Living in the underworld tended to make one suspicious, she guessed. What did it mean to be suspicious of herself? Why was she never certain of her own intentions?
Shaking herself from the persistent thoughts she pushed through the thick grain stalks, scowling at the hidden insects and trying not to bump into the various nymphs pulling the grain, though they gravitate away from her on reflex, some weren’t as quick or alert as others and Hades found herself at the elbow-end of a handfull of frightened forest nymphs.
Not much to her surprise the dark haired boy was still at the edge of the fields waiting for her, his chin resting in his palm as he napped, stretched out on his side leisurely, looking every bit as godly as he’d claimed to be. She crouched beside him, examining his lax features when a small grin cracked against his lips.
“You said your meeting would be brief?” He yawned, pushing back a couple unruly strands of hair from his face as he stood, hus tunic barely sliding off his chest, clasped at the shoulder with some kind of crest she hadn’t seen, it was bronze and slightly dulled.
“I intended it to be.” She sighed, “It’s a wonder you get anything done at all.”
He hummed in response, “So, where are we going?”
“Huh? Oh, yes. The party. Olympis, obviously.” Hades laughed, too focused on the annoyingly loose strap on her sandal to notice Kore’s face fall slightly, by the time she’d shoved her sandal back in place he was simply staring ahead, arms stretched behind his head with a low yawn as he walked.
“Are you going to introduce yourself before we get there?” He questioned, intense blue-green eyes scorching her skin, she brushed down the goosebumps on her arm and tried to clear her throat. She wasn’t going to embarrass herself by gushing over him, she ruled the underworld, she reminded herself, fighting back the blush that threatened to heat her cheeks.
“That’s the great thing about this party,” She smirked, grey smoke erupting from her palm as a slick, black mask appeared in her hand, “No need for names.” She said, handing him the half-face mask, he eyed it curiously before tucking it into his robes with a sigh.
“You’re impossible.”
Hades was surprised when he didn’t question her chariot, and even more so when he pushed her aside on the bench and offered to lead it. She hid her smile behind her palm as he eyed him, broad shoulders exposed to the sun as he lead it forward, his dark hair whipping around his head like a crown.
“You’re full of surprises.” She commented, peeking up at him through thick lashes. He offered her a lazy smirk, shrugging his shoulders as the wind bit his cheeks red.
“I suppose we both are,” He said slowly, his eyes sliding to her once again, “It’s pretty suspicious, not telling me your name, don’t you think?”
“I doubt you would have hopped so willingly into my carriage if you thought I had poor intentions.” She laughed, though he didn’t share in her mirth, his eyes slipping back towards the world in front of them as he took in a long breath of air.
“Yeah.” He muttered, below his breath.
The ride proceeded in silence and as the bright glow of Olympus came into view, Hades relieved Kore of the reigns as she placed the plain, sleek white mask over her own face, unlike Kore’s it hid the entirety. She peeked at the swell of his lips, trying to hide her want as she clenched harder on the reigns. What was wrong with her today?
 “Well, we’re here, now what?” Kore sighed, his hand on the small of her back as he guided her out of the chariot.
“Well, we can mingle uncomfortably with the other gods, we can stuff our faces with food or we could find a nice corner to sit in and say we did the other two.” Hades smiled, Kore’s deep chuckles rumbling through his barely visible chest.
“You’re funny. Where’s this food?”
Hades grinned, offering Kore an elbow he happily took. She could see the barest shadow of Zeus, but she found her feet carrying her towards the buffet table.
She chatted for a while with Kore, the vibe was good and the conversation interesting, but something kept ebbing at the back of her mind. What was happening, why was she so enthralled by the man? What was it?
Fuck. Hades cursed, hand nearly snapping the stem of the glass of wine in her hand as her eyes slid around the growd. Looking for a familiar shade of red.
“Something wrong?” Kore questioned through a mouthful of food, something she found oddly endearing. Surely now she knew why. At least…. It would make sense? It had to be. That was the only thing that could explain it.
“No, can you wait here a sec? I need to check on something.” Hades murmured, voice low as she stalked through the crowd, eyes scanning for even the slightest glimpse of her cousin.
And there she was, a beacon of red, her short grown falling around her thighs. Even with a mask, Hades could spot her a mile away.
“Aphrodite.” Hades hissed, pushing through the crowd of nymphs that had gathered to take their chance with the goddess of love this evening.
“Cousin. What a pleasant surprise.” Aphrodite sighed, flicking her long red hair over her exposed shoulder with a tight-lipped smile, “To what do I owe the pleasure of your company this evening?”
“What did you do to me?” Hades scowled, voice low as she zeroed in on the woman, fingers flicking with black smoke as she tried to calm her temper.
“Excuse me?” Aphrodite scowled, slapping away Hade’s accusatory finger as she roughly straightened out her gown, “I have no idea what you’re talking about, cousin. Smoke inhalation finally getting to your head?”
“You can’t be serious.” Hades whispered, hand curling over her chest as she eyed Kore from across the room. He was leaning against the wall, glass of spiced wine in his hand as he waved away a very hopeful looking male nymph.
“Oh, don’t tell me!” Aphrodite laughed, slender hands coming to clasp the sides of Hade’s face as her eyes roamed into her own through her mask, a gleeful smile stretching across her ruby-colored lips, “Someone finally broke through your prudish facade, cousin.” She laughed, mirthfully.
Hades shoved her cousins hands away, sighing balefully as she crossed her arms tightly over her chest, “If I find out you had something to do with this I’ll-”
“Oh please, cousin. Like I have time to care about your love life.” Aphrodite snorted, waving her hand through the air and grinning as a slender female nymph offered her a tray of champagne. She took the glass with a lustful wink before turning back to Hades, looking more tense than usual, which was saying a lot.
“Look, if I were you- which thankfully I am not- I would enjoy my evening. The centuries go by much quicker with some… good company.” Aphrodite winked, tipping her glass before downing it, “Though it appears taste doesn’t run in the family.” She added, nose crinkling at Kore for a moment before she shrugged it off. She gave one more condescending smile before slipping back into the crowd, her admirers not far behind.
Hades teeth dug into her cheek as she turned her head, finding Kore’s eyes on her. His arms crossed over his chest as he nodded toward her, beckoning her back.
She swallowed the lump in her throat, not quite believing her cousin had nothing to do with it. However, what was the harm in this? It wasn’t like she was asking his hand. She was allowed to enjoy an evening without constantly worrying about the outcome, the consequences.
She peered down at her hand, at the crescent shaped scars, brows furrowing. She quickly contorted herself, soothing her nerves as she shook away the intrusive thoughts. She wasn’t a monster. She was the same as every other god in attendance. If not more responsible than the others. She deserved to enjoy herself as much as anyone else.
She was drawn back to him, hips swaying as she walked, not missing the way his eyes watched her movements, nor the way his body tensed under her stare. She was God of the underworld, she reminded herself once again, she was free to take what she wanted.
“Hey there.”
She was stopped in her tracks as a large hand wrapped around her forearm, and after a sharp tug she found herself slapped against a very broad chest.
“And where have you been hiding all evening?”
She knew that voice. She tried to hold back her dismissive short as she unwrapped herself from a too eager Hermes, reaking of wine as he seemed entirely unaware of her disinterest. His hand reached for her hips but was stopped by a rough shove from a very aggravated kore.
A thorned branch had began wrapping up his forearm, appearing from thin air. Though she probably should have been more focused on the angrily grumbling Hermes currently picking himself up from the floor, she was transfixed on Kore, on the thorns prickling around his skin, on the way his hair had mussed in the panic.
He was breathtaking, and she found herself wanting to reach out and roam her hands over his exposed chest. Her fingers curled into her palm on instinct, digging into the tender flesh, she bit down on her lip, straightening out her robes in a slight panic as she stepped towards Kore.
“Who the hell do you think you are?” Hermes growled through bitten teeth as he filled the space between Hades and Kore, chest puffing as he roughly shoved Kore backwards. He still stood but his mask clapped against the stone floor.
Kore’s lip curled as his fingers balled into a fist, a challenge Hermes looked all too excited to accept as he braced himself, slapping together the gold cuffs around his wrists as he grinned in anticipation.
“Shit.” Hades muttered under her breath, “Hermes you need to step down.”
Almost as if he’d forgotten she was there, he blinked, turning to face her with glassy eyes before turning back to Kore, “What, you’d rather have flower boy in your bed? Your loss.” He snorted, drawing back a fist.
“I said stop.” Hades growled, fingers curling around his elbow to halt the punch Kore had been waiting for, his blue-green eyes cold as they locked onto Herme’s swaying form.
“Back off.” Hermes hissed in warning, wrenching his arm from her grip, “What do you give a shit about this moody weirdo for?”
“Let him, it would serve him right to learn to lose.” Kore chided, fists balled at his sides, the thorned branches now sliding up his shoulder and around his slender neck.
“Absolutely not.” Hades hissed, noticing that they were now catching the eyes of the crowd. If anyone from Demeter’s company caught sight of Kore- She loathe to think about the earful she’d receive from his snake of a mother, let alone whatever aftermath would be left for Kore to handle.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” Hades scowled, staring down at the unflinching Hades as she tried to control herself.
“I’m telling you to stop.” Hades snarled, eyes locked onto Hermes. She could feel the warm, wet beads of blood collecting around her balled fist as her eyes bore into the man.
He lunged, fist drawn and whistling through the air, headed straight for Kore’s face, it would have landed a devastating blow had Hades not kicked out a foot from beneath him, sending him tumbling onto his stomach, face now beet red with anger.
“How dare you.” Hermes scowled, tossing aside the last of his pride as he grabbed Hades by both forearms, grip bruising as he shook her.
Her mask slid down, revealing an unimpressed grimace and a set of firey green eyes, boring into Hermes as he slowly released her, raising his hands and stepping back, his head turning around the crowd.
“I apologize.” Hermes coughed, straightening out his mask as Hades stepped forward, clearly not feeling forgiving as smoke curled around her fingertips, swelling in the space between them, snaking up Hermes, his eyes wide as it washed against his skin, swiping at his hair and tickling his skin.
“Do you normally make such a fool of yourself?” Hades scowled, shoulders trembling slightly as the smoke thickened, tightening around Herme’s forearms.
Hermes eyes were locked on the bruises on Hades arms, just beginning to blossom before disappearing into her skin, leaving only smooth ivory flesh behind. Her blonde hair fell around her as she reached out to him, smoke disappearing as her hand struck hard against his cheek.
“Go collect yourself, and stay out of my sight.” She hissed, turning her back to him as her glare found a very tense Kore, softening at the sight of him. Her fingers brushed along her shoulders anxiously as she stepped toward him, eyes apologetic.
“I’m sorry, I had wanted tonight to be more enjoyable for you.”
His shoulders loosened a bit as he straightened out his hair, thorned branches dissolving into nothing as he eyed her, “Night’s not over.” He shrugged, small smirk appearing as his hand found the small of her back, “You can make it up to me.”
She breathed out a breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding, her hand finding his.
“I’d love to-”
“Hades, it’s been too long!” A familiar voice called, a slender, tanned hand falling over her shoulder and whirled her around.
Shit.
She turned her head to catch Kore’s face, stomach sinking dangerously.
He was gone.
