okay but wait which fic was more fucked up/worse a complete kingdom or every part of the animal??? i genuinely want to know because i have not read the second one yet but i've REALLY been meaning to
We've heard/seen Zayne be referenced as "shackled" at least 3 times before at this point. By Raymond, by the 'Narrator' ("remains shackled to time"), and in reference to the Foreseer myth. This makes the 4th. I genuinely hurt every single time the story so heavy handidly reminds me that Zayne really is a dog on a chain. The Foreseer robes even have a LITERAL collar of thorns over the neck of it ffs. It's painful to watch at this point and it breaks my heart.
"Why persuade Zayne? What he really needs is a pair of hands. Ones that can carry out God's mission and allow for God's descent."
Between this, and the one below of-
"At least he has another option. His last one"
I'm torn on which one is referencing Astra. On one hand, Astra really could be a modern made "God". An elevated man of great power, someone Zayne turned to in his 11th hour to try and save MC (though we all know how that turned out, unfortunately). It would seem that Xander Sciences is playing at God, and if we know anything about the sci-fi scene, it's that human experimentation ALWAYS ends up going ~soooo well~ and nothing ever goes wrong there 👀
On the other hand, the "last option" really gets my gut feeling going. My theorist brain is telling me Zayne is gonna go full Warlock pact and make a deal with an entity in exchange for MC's life. Only it's gonna go tits up and be a Fey pact, and because we all know how MC and he end up, clearly Zayne did NOT read the fine print (or more likely, Zayne thought he could out maneuver the rules). Ever since I read the Mt Eternal anecdote and realized the Tower and Mt Eternal are in the same location, I could not shake the feeling that Zayne already has made contact with whatever "Astra" is. Be it a very powerful person, an actual God, or someone else entirely different (like another time traveler, such as Xavier and the backtrackers). We know he's traveling back there multiple times by himself, conducting research of an unknown variety, that only he and Dr. Noah are privy to. I'm just saying if ever there was a cover up for having contact with a supernatural being/aliens/a God, that's a really fucking good one.
Whatever it is, this new lore drop has really really spelled out in big bold letters, that Zayne is thought of as a tool by a LOT of people. Xander Sciences, Astra, even the Dean of the medical academy had a moment there. My poor man even thinks of himself as a tool, one that is meant to save MC (from himself he even says at one point 😭😭😭 like oh my God Zayne stoppppp). He literally considers himself expendable so long as he saves her. Once he's done his job and secured her future, even if that means passing on the ability to save her to someone else, he's fine laying down his life for that.
And that's seriously the saddest part of this whole fucking game imo.
Tell me a fun Bill and Ted fact? I know nothing about them really
Bill and Ted is such a fascinating franchise to me bc it's Super Obvious that a majority of people's awareness of it begins and ends with the first movie - Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure - and yet there is so much to uncover about these dudes. There are three films, one novelization, like 7 comic series, a cartoon that ran for 2 seasons, a musical, a live action show that ran for 7 (bad) episodes, like 3 video games, and a pretty longstanding run as a Halloween Horror Nights show.
They're also extremely fun characters because there's like, such a prevalent tendency to generalize their character types, but they're actually Super specific personalities. Like, Bill and Ted don't ever use the words 'rad' or 'bro' nor any 'surfer lingo' or 'valley speak', they're not ever sarcastic/ironic they're like Painfully earnest constantly (the writers even specified that Bill and Ted are "these innocents who would wander wide-eyed into any situation and treat everyone exactly the same - completely open, completely friendly" and the Director also refers to the 'Puppy Factor' wrt Bill and Ted, meaning they should both "Be like big Labrador Retrievers who just bounce along and love life",) they Do use the word 'dude' nigh constantly BUT people always underestimate how often they'll use each other's names equally as often, and also they're really not slackers or deliberately dismissive of schooling/education - they are trying really hard, they just genuinely struggle/can't learn things right (you can tell they even kind of Value it because they do make an effort to use like, Expanded Vocabulary, it's just that they don't always fully understand the words so they'll use them wrong on accident) - i just love them so much
Okay so earlier today my friends showed me an image, and out of nowhere my brain decided that is now submas, I will make this work
And so have this little out of nowhere poorly drawn shitpost I drew on my phone
I know Volo wouldn't be wearing his ginkgo guild uniform from like 200 years ago in the 'present day' but hey- shitpost! (Also I drew Ingo first and then Emmet and had like no room to mess around with so)
Did I get the expressions right? No. Did I get anatomy right? Not at all- but this isn't my normal style and it made me laugh so I thought it share it!
also for anyone interested this was the original image!
hey babes, it looks like a few of my recent new followers here are under 18. I'm not gonna chase you out but you need to know I'm in my late 30s and I post a lot about sexual topics, including but not limited to recovering from sexual assault.
this is the internet and nothing I post is going to be worse than anything you'd find elsewhere but I do want to be cautious. on the one hand it's perhaps useful for you to get perspective on how an adult grapples with some of the same struggles you're probably facing. on the polytheist front, I know for a fact that the Infamous Fascist Guy talking about Dionysos doesn't turn away underage folks, which makes him an easy person to go to for information (yikes), and ideally you would seek out alternative sources that... aren't... fascist (I'm flattered to be chosen). which is an argument against restricting who interacts with this blog. on the other hand I know unregulated occult spaces (online and irl) are great at fostering unhealthy power dynamics between more and less seasoned practitioners, and even delusional thinking esp in newcomers who lack experience with discernment. which is not something I wanna encourage.
any "ban" on underage readers/followers is unenforceable - if you're rule compliant, you'll self select away, and if you're intent on staying, you'll falsify your age. so anything I say about it is really more about my own sense of responsibility than making anybody else do what I want.
I'm not a fucking cop. you're going to learn about what you want to learn about somewhere. teenagers are curious, and not oblivious to the realities of the world - all my dirtbag high school friends watched porn, several of them went to prison, most of them shot guns, my sister was pregnant at 17 - I know you're finding out what you want to know, one way or another. but I want to be mindful of my own impact on you.
if you are underage, my preference would be for you to ask me for recommendations of other resources, unfollow me for now, and then if you're still interested come look me up again when you're a bit older. you are explicitly welcome to ask me direct questions rather than following the blog. I don't want to be censoring my posts for an underage audience, and I don't want to be giving you material that's not suitable for you. plus I lack the constitution to feel comfortable yelling about dildos in a room full of 16-year-olds.
I'm not the boss of you and it's literally impossible for me to enforce my preferences, so I'm requesting that you respect them, instead. 🤍 thanks friends.
ever since i made the first concept for Solstice's design, i've struggled to find something that actually accentuated how i felt they looked.
i liked the m!viera model for the facial structure and some of the broadness of the shoulders / torso, but have always preferred the f!viera model for everything else. but i really, really disliked the more feminine facial features on the f!viera model which is why i kind of just stuck with the male model, since i felt the facial features on that could better encapsulate the androgyny that Solstice encompasses
however. i've finally, finally found a happy medium thanks to some mods that my friend mugen pointed me in the direction of and i think it's safe to say that i have a completed concept of what Solstice would/should look like, if they were real
someone swapped the m!viera face that i use onto the f!viera face and when i tell you the fucking pure bliss i felt finally having the look i wanted for them -- that beautiful, alluring androgyny they're meant to have as both an angel & a cosmic machine i'm just.....
they FINALLY look like how they're meant to and i'm so so so so so very happy right now. it might seem silly but Solstice is my first ever oc i've made, and i've poured a lot of love into their concept as a whole. so having them finally look the way i've always wanted them to gives me such serotonin i'm sdflkjghd
the body they have, the face they should have........
granted i did have to sacrifice their makeup mod but that's fine bc honestly they look just as fucking hot w/o it and a bunch of people i've shown this to before posting it to have said they prefer it w/o the makeup so
yippie!!
expect me to be posting more photos of them and writing them actively again hehehe
something i really really like about ray and isabella's relationship is that ray is never expected to forgive her at the end. it makes sense that the younger kids would all forgive her after she used her position to help them in the return to gracefield because at the end of the day, she raised them in a warm and nurturing environment and did truly love them. ray didn't really get that same treatment though.
im sure ray's feelings about her at the end are complicated to say the least, he understands the horrifying position she had been in since she was 12 and probably relates to that at least a little bit. i like the way he tells her to get over it and come to the human world with them because if he couldn't use death as a way out, he definitely wasn't going to let her do it. (this would have been much more impactful if she didn't proceed to die anyway a little later on but. gently pushes that aside <3)
i don't really think ray's 'no one is holding any grudges' line necessarily means he forgave her though? the kids know that the sisters are all victims of a horribly abusive and oppressive system, and none of them are going to hold that against them even if some can't bring themselves to forgive them for whatever personal reasons. in ray's case specifically as a victim of abuse, i do not think he owes isabella anything. it was the system that forced isabella to raise children for the farm or face death, but her actions against ray specifically were her own, and he has every right to feel a little differently about her because of that.
kill the trope of characters forgiving abusive family members because 'they had no choice'/'they're still family' give me more ray 'i know you were hurt deeply by things beyond your control but that doesn't excuse the pain you caused me' tpn <3
