I love summer now that the heatwave has passed. Top temperature today was 23 C (73.4 F). I started the day with 7 am yoga on the lawn, then washed three batches of laundry, tidied up, changed the sheets, cooked warm food, weeded the garden, summer sowed, mowed the lawn, wrote fic, took a walk, washed my hair, ironed the laundry.

Being able to function properly again is amazing.

Very excited about Midnights! An effect of these rerecordings is that Taylor is rewriting the story of her life once more, and I suspect this adds to it. I was going through the Lover diary entries today, and came across 13-year-old Taylor talking about how good it was that some food was only 40 calories, which made me quite sad. I wish the world was different.

I am really looking forward to her rewriting the story of her life - truly her greatest strength (and she's not short on strengths as a songwriter, performer and popstar). I wish she'd grown up in a better world.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

can you believe that we have fanfiction. that we have websites dedicated to fanfiction. that there is a place that you can go and read tens, hundreds, thousands and thousands of pieces of writing that strangers have made. people who are not "writers". people who come home at the end of the day and have feelings and say, i am going to put that into words. i am going to share those words. short, long, sweet, sad, horny, funny, wonderful words. we are all just human and we all love to make and remake and share that with others. can you believe that.
