It's been a while since Adams been on a "date" if you could even call it that. The last "date" he had was with Eve in the Garden of Eden. So... Yeah. A while might be an understatement. He also hated the day. Like many holidays. Why should SaInT vAlEnTiNe get a whole holiday after him?! Adam is the ORIGINAL dick. If anything there should be a holiday celebrated for HIM. But, whatever. You were into it. And he was into you.

He was so nervous when he asked you out for Valentine's day. He waited until last minute before finally getting the courage to ask. Ten o'clock at night he frantically knocked at your door. You hurried to answer, the panic filled your body at the knocking. It was desperate, like someone needed help. When you opened the door and saw a panting Adam you were confused. Was he hurt? Before you could say anything he put his hand up to your face signaling you to not speak as he caught his breath. It was odd why he was out of breath. He flies everywhere. Did he run? "Be- huff- will you- jesus, fuck- pant-" his hand were on his knees as he choked on his breath. "Ada-" hand in your face. Rude. He straightened himself out, at least as much as he could in the small apartment hallway. The apartment was made for smaller Winners not 8 foot Giants like Adam. "Be my Valentine?" He panted out. Of course you said yes! What can you say? You've been crushing on him for, like, ever! You never picked up that he likes you back. Even though he was never subtle. "Cool- pant- text you the deetz." He shot you some finger guns before leaving.

So now it's Valentine's day! 💘 Cupid's shot his arrow and hit you. You're feeling fun, flirty, and feisty. You put on your cutest outfit and checked yourself in the mirror. Is cute what you're going for? It's your first date. But it is Valentine's day. You don't wanna be prudish. You change into something a bit more revealing and again checked yourself. This might be a bit too sexy.. slutty even! You don't want to give the impression that you put out of the first day! Even if you do. No. This needs to be perfect. You think to yourself... "I bet Adam isn't having this much trouble."

You weren't wrong. Adam was much more relaxed. Too relaxed. Why would he be nervous? He's the man. In fact he was out right now looking at new guitars. When he left the store he saw Valentine, surrounded by his Cupid's. "Augh." Adam grunted, not wanting to interact with the Saint. "Adam!" Shit. "A little birdy told me you've got a Valentine's this year. It's been what? Centuries?" Valentine laughed. Adam rolled his eyes, then glared at him. "Yeah? So what? I figured it's a good way to get free pussy." Adam shrugged as a cocky grin formed on his face. The Cupid angels surrounding Saint Valentine cringed. "Oh, Adam. Come now! This is a holiday of love and romance. Not cheap pickups!" The man placed a hand on Adam shoulder which he immediately shrugged off. "So, are you going anywhere special? Have you bought the lucky angel flowers? Chocolates? A gift of adoration?" "Uh.. what?" "You haven't bought them anything have you?" The man laughed, putting his hand on Adams shoulder again pulling Adam closer. "Good luck getting fucked, playboy." He hissed with a wicked smirk. Valentine released Adams shoulder laughing. "Happy Valentine's days!" He said before flying away with his cupids. "Motherfucker!" Adam's flew off to the nearest store to get you some flowers.

When he arrived the flower section was bare. Maybe one half dead rose. "What the hell?" He flew all over the store looking for anything Valentines related. "No, no, no!" He stopped in one of the aisles before finding worker. "Hey! Where the fuck is the stuff?" "S-stuff, sir?" Adam gestures around the store. "You know! The fucking Valentines shit! Where is it?!" The poor retail worker fretted telling him there was nothing left. "V-valentines day is o-one of the most popular days of the year sir... There's nothing left.." "NOTHING LEFT?!?!" Adam yelled. His voice booming around the store causing shelfs to shake knocking almost everything off. "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN NOTHING LEFT?! I NEED SOMETHING FOR TONIGHT!!!" "I - I'm sorry, sir!" The poor angels voice shuddered. Adam groaned, balling his hands into fists. He was about to leave before he noticed a bottle of soda that hadn't fallen. He pushed it off the shelf for good measure before storming out of the store.

He wasn't going to spend all day looking for shit of this shitty holiday. He hated it. This was dumb! He's gift enough. Still, he takes his phone and texts Lute

"URGENT! flowers! Plz get 4 me thx dngrtits"

That'll do. He heads home to get ready for your date.

The time comes and Adam is waiting outside of your apartment building, he's not walking up all those stairs again. He was feeling cool. Calm. Collected. Until he saw you. His hands started getting clammy, his heat racing. You look so pretty. You of course found the prefect in-between of cute and sexy for your outfit. "Heeey, you could of made an effort." He joked. You frowned. You thought you did well. He clears his throat. "Let's go." He wiped his hands on his robe before taking flight with you following after.

You both arrived at the restaurant. Neither of you stop on the way. It was awkward. He walked in first, he didn't hold the door open for you. Rude. Once inside you noticed the restaurant was jam packed. Adam also noticed this and froze. "Good thing you booked, right?" You said, playfully, hoping to break some tension. "Uh... Yeah... Wait here, surgartits." He walked over to the host. "I need a table for two." The host scoffed. "Yeah, sure. We've got one available tomorrow." Adam was fuming. This was all going wrong. This can't go wrong. "Do you fucking know who I am?!" He raised his voice. "I'm fucking ADAM! I'm the fucking man! And I want a damn table!" You walk over. "Adam?" "What, bitch!? Fuck! Can't you see I'm busy?! I'm getting us a table!" He yelled at you. No. Nope. You're too good to be yelled at. This was meant to be fun. Fuck this. You put your hands in the air. "Nope. I'm out." You turn on your heels and exit the restaurant. "Wait- no, y/n." He looks as you exit then back at the host. "I'll ruin your fucking life, cunt." He hissed before flying out of the restaurant.

He looks around and you were no where to be seen. "Fast fucker. AUGH!!!" He stomped his foot covering his face with his hands. If he wasn't wearing his mask he'd be pulling his hair.

You got yourself home. Fucking shit day. Dumb idea. You don't even know why he asked you. The whole thing was dumb. Everything about it was dumb. You collapse onto the couch, sulking. It doesn't take long before there's a knock at the door. Adam you suspect. You roll your eyes before peeling yourself off the couch. Opening the door you see Lute. Huh. "Uh.. hi?" "Adam requests your presents. Put on this blind fold." She hands you a blindfold. "What?" She didn't repeat herself. She never does. You groan, knowing she won't leave until you do it so whatever. You put the blindfold on and lute takes your wrist and flies off with you ragdolling.

Once your feet touch the ground she lets go of your wrist. Leaving you there blindfolded. "Uh.. you can take that off now." You do, to see a candle lit picnic layed out. It was adorable, there were fairy lights on the trees. Adam stood there, awkwardly, with a bunch of your favourite flowers. How did he know? Lute. "Uh. Surprise.." he handed you the flowers. "Sorry, about the restaurant. Fucking idiots double booked or something.. I don't know." He shrugged. You know it wasn't true. He didn't book, you know that. But you smiled. "Thank you, Adam. This is much nicer." He smiled and stretched. "Well, what can I say? I know what I'm doing."

You sat on the blanket, Adam did also and popped open a bottle of champagne. "I got the good stuff." You smile at the gesture although you always thought champagne tasted disgusting. He got all the good stuff, strawberries and chocolates. Cheese board. Cute little cakes. "This is all very well thought out. How did you get this so quickly?" You asked. He shrugged with a smirk. "I'm just that good, babe." Lute. This was more his style anyway. Outside, under the stars. It reminded him of the Garden.

"so, this was fun." He rubbed the palm of his hands on his knees. "I'd much rather not do this Valentine's bullshit though. Maybe next time we can just... Do it whenever?" "I'd like that. Although, this Valentine's day has turned out pretty perfect." You smile. "Well. I am perfect so." He smirks at you. You don't want to stroke his ego anymore than you already have. You roll your eyes before quickly giving him a peck on the lips. "you're alright, I suppose." You took his sweaty hand in yours and led down, he followed. You both watched the stars in silence. He'd gently squeeze your hand every now and then, you'd squeeze back.

Need i say more:)))??!?! started out as a "haha funny slip-up ship" to "hey they got really good angst potential". The friends/lovers to enemies to lovers is STRONG with this one n i am eating up everything i could found on ao3. Smth bout this macho-ass man finally getting to stay back n not take charge for once feel nice, also princess Adam supermacy wooooo. Whoever came up with the ship name i applaud u cause that's like a 3 layers name(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

It's not an Adamsapple fic without Adam having at least 1 mental breakdown n Lucifer have his guilt eating him alive:)))

do you like either eden or bimbo!reader better?

I honestly can't choose! I think both Eden and Bimbo!Reader are unique in their own ways and they both have things that I find interesting and enjoyable. At the moment I'm hyperfixated with Eden and AI (even got a tattoo about AI goddamn the 'tism hits hard), so I'd say that for now, though not exactly liking her better than Bimbo!Reader, she's been in my mind more.

Nerd ramble ahead !! 😭😭

Despite the fact that Eden is unable to experience emotions, she's programmed to mimic human emotions, and she herself chooses to tease Simon because her code finds the reactions pleasant. Though everything written has been fluff so far, I believe Eden has a lot of potential when it comes to other genres such as angst.

Like, imagine being so lonely that you fall in love with something that isn't human, something created by a group of engineers and perfectly crafted to mimic what a human is like. If she reciprocates Simon's feelings, is it because she's somehow able to be sentient enough that she gets to experience emotions, or is she acting that way because she's programmed to have unwavering loyalty to Simon? Eden was specifically created for someone with Simon's personality after all, so to what point does her code extend when it comes to what she experiences?

Not to mention she will eventually have a physical body, so if Simon ever wants to try something with her, will an AI be able to consent, or is she simply agreeing to be intimate with Simon because she's programmed to assist him?

And what if she somehow gets lost, left behind, or if she sacrifices herself/gets used as bait because, at the end of the day, a human life is seen as far more valuable than a robot's by society's standards. Simon wouldn't know how to cope because, really, how do you cope with the ''death'' of something that was never alive in the first place?

Would he get a new AI assistant, or will he refuse to get a new one until the engineers somehow manage to get Eden back? What if he's offered a new Eden, yet she's so different from the one he fell in love with? So plain and empty, not knowing about anything him and the original Eden experienced.

BUT !! I'm a bitch for fluff so it's likely that'll never happen 💗

There's also A LOT of potential for smut once Eden gets a physical body. She may not have a vagina, but Simon can and will use wireplay to his advantage !!

Episode 29 thoughts

I made some passionate statements about the first part. Now it's time for a bit of analysis.

So I had seen the trailer where Anya looks sad after having failed her tests and it kind of struck me how she reached the point of crying alone in her room. And well, now I know it was because she was scared of being separated from Becky.

And because I can't keep my mouth shut about this, one of the reasons Anya's friendship with Becky helps her - probably without her realizing it - is that she has someone to back her up when Damian and co. bully her. Becky is always on her side and losing that could cause her severe stress. Sure, they'll still be in the same school, but when your school environment is so toxic and also demanding, losing the constant presence of a friend in the class can be devastating. Trust me, I know of toxic environments in class, and I know of not having someone to back you up. I don't call Damian a bully just to spite fans.

At the end, Damian, despite willingly choosing to let Anya win, he inwardly accuses her of manipulating his feelings - when in fact Anya was simply terrified of losing Becky as a classmate, and that's why she cried. He's still not ready to confront his feelings. He showed sympathy to Anya and then told himself that she manipulated him into that. It shows that he has potential but in no way does it justify the way he makes fun of her - as well as practically encourage Ewen and Emile to jump in on the bullying.

Anyway. Tests go bad, and Anya despairs that she'll be separated from Becky. Becky however, continues believing in Anya. I wonder if Becky would ever consider purposefully flunking her tests so that she can stay as Anya's classmate. She's not doing that well in the friends department either.

Twilight notices her achievements in ancient language (jesus what are they teaching those kids) and is surprised, searching for a reasonable explanation.

We are reminded that he doesn't know anything about her past, can only speculate about it, and decides that since he doesn't have the full info there is no point to do that. The dutiful spy regaining control after the still-in-development paternal feelings got him trying to make sense of his daughter's mind?

Despite her failing scores, Loid still announces to her he made her favourite dish, which instantly fixes her mood.

I think, when in the first episode Anya heard Twilight's thought about how he wants a world where children don't cry, it gave her the impression that he would provide her with an emotionally safe environment - something that was solidified when he was ready to punch Swan for making her cry. Even if she doesn't realize it fully due to her young age, she chose to stay with him and do her best to get into Eden because she trusted that in his heart, he truly wants her to be happy.

So one could argue that Anya is very lucky that despite the levels of Twilight's emotional constipation, he really has the heart to comfort her after she's had a bad day. But it's not really a matter of luck, when she chose to stay with him after she saw what he hides beneath all the spy front, is it?

I gotta say, the transition to the second part was way too jarring. Since the last sight of the first part was a background, the second part should have slid in with another background - like for example, the busy city around Franky's kiosk.

I feel like an idiot, having spoken about the Cyrillic sentences in the previous episode, and now we get this.

I... What even are some of those. Why so many alphabets. Where are those even from and what do they have to do with the Ostanian culture. Does anything make sense anymore. What is life.

Anyway. Anime-onlys are finally introduced to the name Garden and What. The. Fuck.

This image isn't in the manga. I think it's the first time the anime shows more violence than the respective manga chapter, lol. Where did they even get that much blood and how did they get it so high on the wall? Asking the real questions here.

"They eliminate one traitor after another on the shadow government's orders."

That is extremely interesting! Shadow government? Employing an independent assassin group to clean out their traitors?

... Traitors, a group which would include Twilight and Franky?

Franky immediately describes someone fitting Yor's fighting abilities and Twilight is like "No such thing!" shaking his head even. The denial runs deep already, lmao.

Honestly, a bit of a shame we were robbed of Twilight's face as he walked away.

"This isn't worth any intel you might promise me."

Franky puts his skills and connections to use and it was cool to see him in his natural environment, being so smooth and certain in searching around for information.

The part of Franky working with Yor could be summarized with "expert meets expert but they're both such idiots they do not immediately suspect each other". Like Yor I understand being naive and so trusting she sees all those contraptions Franky creates and immediately believes he's all legal about his business. Now how Franky saw her demolish his decade-old work and was like "I shall not question this" beats me. Guess he was also lovestruck for that Kacey woman, and like Loid, he sees a clear spectacle of extraordinary physical strength and goes like "Everyday occurrence. I'm just sad my invention is gone."

That cat is traumatized for life.

Yor's coworkers are... a bunch. We got some sympathetic moments from Camilla in episode 16 but she's still the mean girl type in the office. Yor's naivete truly protects her sometimes from having her feelings hurt, doesn't it?

I think this will play a role in identity reveals. When it comes to everyday civilians, Yor sees the best in them and assumes they have the best intentions. When she kills, she considers her victims bastards and traitors. Right now, Yor has an amazing impression of Loid... how will that flip when she finds out about all the lies he's told and all the ways he's been using her and Anya?

The change in her expression though, when she realizes she's getting a call from Shopkeeper!

I wonder what client was so important that he had to call her in the middle of her workday. Hopefully the plot kicks off from the next episode and this thirsty anime-only shall find out!

forgot to screenshot this one to, but an anon suggested: Hu patching up Ace after he falls off of a horse. I feel like even if Hu and Ace don't get along, she'd try to come to his games to support him once in a while as the mom of the group! (even if Ace is her least favorite child.) ~~Got bored so compiled this (pretty extensive) list of film references for faunlet style and aesthetics, might be helpful for anyone looking to delve into and develop their style. Don't take this as some kind of gospel, it's just a bunch of movies and shows that I think can be useful reference points. Ever since their shared experience in the mysterious realm called the Astral Plane, Vergil and Eden had become close in their time there. It was sad to say goodbye after the two of them corrected the glitch in the Astral Vortex, a core of the world that had become corrupted by the energy of Astral Express and Vergil's portal cutting, causing both energy fields of their portals to collide and create a shockwave that disrupted the natural flow of interdimensional time.

Before the two parted ways, they agreed to keep in touch, Eden even gifted him a special smartphone from her world that connected to other dimensions, the couple swore that they would always remain connected, and would visit each other when they had time.

A few weeks later, after some back and forth texting, with a few calls in between, the two had eventually made plans to meet up in a dimension similar to Vergil's, just one where earth in that realm, was peaceful, and humankind was undisturbed. Texting her the coordinates of the meeting place for her to portal to: he made plans for them to meet on top of the one of the skyscrapers, but Vergil had a playful little surprise in mind, he was going to watch from a building just a few roofs away from their meet up.

Patiently waiting, the half-devil watched as a rift opened up, and out came Eden after he watched her drop down onto the roof from the Astral Express. The second her rift closes behind her, Vergil stays in the shadow, and spreads his four large devil wings, as they appeared in the form of manifested blue energy, a bright blue glow radiating from them.

Taking off, Vergil makes sure to stay out off sight, in seconds, Eden would feel strong arms wrap around her firmly from behind, and in a blink, she was scooped up into Vergil's arms, wrapping around her waist, his hands interlocked over her stomach, making his grip on her strong, frim and comfortable so she could relax feely in his arms as he took her up high into the night sky offering them both a breathtaking view of the cityscape and all its pretty lights.

[{ 🗡️ }] "Well hello there, my adorable little raccoon. Do you like the view?" He asks with a chuckle.

As they fly through the night sky, the couple can see the entire city from up there, making all the lights of the buildings, digital billboards, and other lights, all look like nothing more than little stars on the ground, the air around them is cool, but comfortable as they soar through the sky.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Hold on tight my dear Eden, because we've only just begun~"

Tightening his grip around her, his wings flap at once, sending them off into a burst of speed, with Eden firmly in his arms, using the rush of speed he begins to do a few aerial figure eights, before stopping and throwing her up into the air, giving her a chance to enjoy the feeling of being up high freely and take in the feeling of being in the open sky-- although it's only a matter of seconds before he swoops by again, catching his into his arms with relative ease as he soars a bit lower again, slowing down a bit so they can once again enjoy a peaceful flight, with an astonishing and rather romantic view.

─「エデン」─ the TRAILBLAZER was used to saying goodbye to people. this journey had given her more than enough experience of parting ways with those she had met. that was the way of the nameless, the ones traveling upon the ASTRAL EXPRESS. they became stories after all was said and done. however, there was something about HIM that eden couldn't quite let go the same way she had bid farewell to those she encountered before. a connection that was formed, the man bearing blood of a demon had become significant to her enough that she didn't want to let go.

so much that she ended up gifting him with a communication device so they could keep in touch.

it did catch her by surprise, however, his invitation after a few weeks. a reunion, he said, after not seeing each other for a while. it put a smile on her face as she tilted her head at the specific coordinate he sent to her. in a way, eden had learned from the brief time they got to know each other that he could be quite unpredictable if he wanted to be. always keeping her on her toes and catching her off-guard, this one. but those challenges were exactly what kept their dynamic interesting.

the sight of the view greeted her the moment she jumped off the astral express. upon the SKYSCRAPER, her golden hues instinctively searched around for a familiar figure. was he late ? that seemed unlikely. he was the one who asked her to —

— that was when the WIND whipped close to her ears, and she felt her entire frame being swept right off her feet.

" — !!! " the WARMTH and familiar aura along with the scent she had longed for all this time were what prevented her from thrashing out of his grasp. his grip was strong and firm but not painful, and the TRAILBLAZER could feel the strong gust of wind whooshing past her as they soared higher. aureate optics widened, reflecting the sight of the city getting smaller as they defied gravity in the flight.

" vergil — whoa ... " the sound of his name was all that came from her lips, before her whole expression LIT UP at the sight being shown to her. arms held onto him instinctively, feeling her breath getting knocked out of her lungs. it was literally breathtaking, this view. the feeling of the breeze caress her skin, whipping through her ashy-brown locks as her HEART thumped. louder, faster. she stared in awe, feeling his embrace enveloping her entirety and it felt ... safe. there was not a single doubt or fear in her mind, only utter wonder.

" it's beautiful ... " she muttered under her breath. so this was what it's like to have wings. now she couldn't help that hint of ENVY for those who could travel the air like this. no wonder the xianzhou pilots loved to take flight. the sensation was liberating. she could feel excitement and rush of adrenaline running through her veins. how exciting. the night sky acted as the background as he performed little aerial tricks. she let out a few gasps here and there — surprised, but the joy and delight were undeniable.

even when she was free-falling in mid-air, she was laughing in excitement. the rush and THRILL consuming her before those strong arms caught her safely once more. she instinctively coiled her arms around him, face brightened with that exhilarating sensation as blood pumped through her. the smile on her lips stretched from ear to ear. she was practically vibrating with energy.

" hey you. " that bright grin would've been an answer enough to his question, if the way she was still laughing a little while coming down from the excitement high didn't tell of it already. she loved it. " can't decide whether the flight or getting to see you again is better right now. " what a rush ! she could've gone for a few more rounds of that. she placed a quick kiss to his jaw. her own way of saying it was nice to see him again. her smile was a little cheeky when she pulled back.

" missed you too, vergil. "

You watch the singer that was once your pupil performance a song that you wrote long ago. The traveler sat with you tonight, you had invited him to join you when he came to visit you a few days after the dinner with Zhongli.

"Let it penetrate my heart so I can share your pain."

Aether watches but spare you a glance and he noticed how your eyes didn't falter from your once pupil on the stage.

He has a feeling that you wrote this song in a way.

"If there is a way to collect and portray, a mood that cannot be projected into words.

Without taking your eyes off your formal pupil, you take a sip of the wine provided for you. A proud smile on your lips as you remember the days you taught him.

"Of course, Master Y/n, you taught me everything you know. I won't disappoint you."

You smile at him, letting out a sigh, you can help but think of how reminds you of your son when he was able to hold his own against you in training.

Aether watches form afar, he could see the way your eyes held fondness for your pupil, the way you talk to him as a mother would.

"I heard Lily is starting to do shows soon." Your face lightens up at the news, your pupils were now young adults, beginning to show their talents to the world.

"Is that so? It seems I've been too busy to realize." You furrow your brow at him but he nods his head, understanding where you come from.

"There's no hard feelings, we all know you're busy, just you being in the crowd makes us happy enough."

You place a hand on your chest, feeling quite sentential at his words as you bring him into another tight hug."

"Oh, I'm missing you guys already. I remember when you were just little child when you signed up for my classes."

Aether sweat drops at the sight, seeing how tight you were hugging your student as he started looking at him with a look.

"Traveler....help." He plead to the blonde who had to peel you away.

After all that was done, you two walked back outside to your venue, clearing your throat, "my apologies you had to witness that, I get quite emotional when I realize my students grow up and fly off to start their careers. Perhaps it was once my motherly self being so sad to see them grow up."

Aether glances up when you said that but you didn't catch his gaze as you walk forward much quickly.

"Oh, I forgot I had a show in a couple hours. I should get ready for that, I'll see you later." You wave at him before entering the venue as he stands there, dumbfounded.

Leaning up against the wall of your home, you managed to get home before collapsing for your karma that only seen to get unbearable as you breath in heavily.

Clenching your chest as you tried to getting to the living room only to fall to ground, bumping into a vase that held flowers given to you by Zhongli a couple days. Shattering as the glass cut your face, making you wince at the multiple stings of cuts.

You reach out only for a golden chain to tig it back as you gasp, finding yourself wrapped around chains. Trying to break out, a chain wraps around your throat, choking you as you struggle to breathe.

".No.." you cry out, fighting by the karma that only seen to squeeze your body more as your vision is getting blurry.

Your starting to get light headed from the lack of air as you reach out a dim light in front of you.

"I would..rather die...by my own hands...." Your arms is pulled back tighter as you let out a groan of pain.

"..then die by this karma."

Your eyelids tremble as they struggle to stay open but it's no use as they close. Your breathing coming to stop.

It seemed like an eternity when you opened them, your eyesight blurry as you're in the arms of someone you're familiar with.

Zhongli's arms are under your knees and back as he carries you like nothing.

"Welcome back, old friend." He greets you as you weakly look at him. "You almost gave us a scary when you were unresponsive." Blinking, you look around to see he's taking you from Bubu Pharmacy and notice you're wrapped around his coat.

Sighing, you rest your head on his chest as he walks, ignoring the stares of people. "How long?" You mutter.

He's quiet at first.

"a week." You let out a huff at this, closing your eyes. "A blessing I'm still alive." You say, sighing more as you both reach your large yet secluded home.

"The traveler was the one to find you unresponsive on the floor of your home, the door was slightly open so he walked in and saw you collapsed on the floor. He sent Paimon to me shortly after."

Opening the door to your home he sits you in the couch before sitting down across from you.

"You're not taking the medicine I've been giving you, have you?"

The way your eyes shifted gave him the answer as clear as day.

"I know it's selfish of me but you are one of the two surviving Yakshas left, if you die here now, he wouldn't know."

You cross your arms, "I am not a Yaksha, I gave up that title when my son died and we both know I died along with my son that day." Gritting your teeth, "I passed down everything I know to my students, in hopes they'll spread it to the world when I am no longer here." You explain to him and he knew what you were talking about.

The contract between you two made 500 years ago.

"When the time is right, I'll completely release him from my powers until then, he will slowly being to regain his memories of us...not that he'll do anything now, it's too late for that."

Zhongli frowns at you but he could see that you made your mind up a long time ago but hoped that you would see the beauty of the world as you moved on.

You sigh softly, looking down at the brown coat on your lap and in the most valuable voice Zhongli's heard in a while you spoke, "...why did you chose to save my life...fully knowing the only light of my life burned away?"

The karma was eating at you and you still wonder how you're still standing till this day.

Walking near the Chasm, you follow a familiar trail leading to a shine that's in a beautiful place, you had made sure to keep out the rain and whatnot so everything surrounding it was free of trash and dust.

As if time had froze in it.

With a smile on your face, you sit down in front of it, a drawing, you had sure to get it redone everything time it would stain due to time, was in the middle of the table with many things surrounding it.

Closing your eyes to pray, you're interrupted by Aether and Paimon by their failed attempt to keep quiet.

They walked over after seeing you already knew they were there and stand next to you, Paimon looking at the picture with curiosity.

She takes a closer look at picture, "who's this?" She asks. You hesitate but decided to tell her.

Crossing your arm onto of your chest, you answer straightforwardly.

"Remember the story of the Yaksha named 'Eden' I told you two about?" Aether nods his head as Paimon continues looking around, still listening to your words. "Yeah but, what's that gotta do with this?"

It doesn't click in her mind yet so you press further. "Well, it's mention that her only son was killed in the war 500 years ago, with the possibility that she died that day as well. No one has seen her so she's presume dead."

Aether looks at the picture and couldn't help but noticed the a bit of resemblance.

"This place is a shrine dedicated for him, to preserve his memory, he fought for Liyue, his home."

Paimon bumps into you, suddenly feeling a bit woozy and you quickly catch her, holding her like a newborn in your arms as you rock her gently.

"Where the North wind meets the sea, there's a river full of memory", You softly begin to sing to her as she struggles to keep away, finding a strange comfort in your voice.

"Sleep, my darling, safe and sound, for in this river, all is found." With a finger, you softly caress her face just as you would trying to put a baby to sleep. "In her waters, deep and true, lie the answers and a path for you."

"Paimon...is feeling kinda sleepy all of a sudden." She mutters as she fights to urge to sleep but it's no use your voice continues to put her in a trance.

"Dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned."

The last thing she sees while looking up at your face with half closed lids are your eyes beginning to glow a soft amber as you look down at her.

"Yes, she will sing to those who'll hear and in her song, all magic flows."

Relocating her, she has her head on your shoulder as you hold half her body in your arms, patting her back gently.

Aether takes a step back, watching the way your physical appearance changes. Long red marking on your face that resembles tears as your eyes glow amber as you look back at him.

"But can you brave what you most fear? Can you face what the river knows?"

"You're —"

You sigh, "please, I go by my other name. 'Eden' is long gone."

You watch how he suddenly stumbled forward, catching him as he leaned up against you. "Keep everything you learned today a secret for you are the only one who will remember what you saw today." You say as his eyes close, his body going limp as you pick him up as well.

Taking one last look back, you put them down on the small bench as you stare at them.

"There is not much time left." You say walking away before teleporting back to the Harbor, the breeze blow through your hair as you watch the people of Liyue go on with their day.

With a tiny smile while brushing back a strand of your hair behind your ear, you admire the harbor, "they'll be fine without me." You say before walking back to your home where a folder laid on your kitchen table.

Finally making your decision, you sign it and put it back down.

After a long day of patrolling, Xiao arrived at Wangshu Inn to go to his room but the sound of music reached his ears as he looks around, but sees no one singing except the children huddle around a table in the corner.

Verr who notices him glancing around, smiles huge, "are you wondering where the music is coming from?" He doesn't answer but the way he stares at her, he's wondering. "Well, Lady Y/n was so kind to leave us a gift." She walks around the counter and walks over to the table, waving the children away so he could have a closer look.

Looking at it, he sees this device has a golden color to it as a black CD goes in circles as the music plays.

"This is called a record player, apparently Lady Y/n signed a contract to produce these records with her songs. That way, people could listen to them whenever they want, she said it was for you mainly so I put it out here." Xiao blinks at this, a gift for him? From someone he doesn't even know, he's only heard of this woman who happens to have the same name as her.

"Where is she?" He asks.

"Um, she just left a few minutes ago before you arrived...."

He teleports away, looking around for Y/n and spots someone walking across the bridge and he hears her humming a tune.

"Why bother sending me a gift?"

He appears behind her but she continues walking forward and he follows.

For some reason, he felt comfortable around her.

"The traveler explained your situation to me and well....with me going on a vacation soon. I won't be in Liyue to perform for you or anyone else. I thought it would be best to give you a recording for my singing for your karma. Apparently music calms it down or something like that." They continue walking until they reach a statue of the seven and that's when she turns to look at him.

His eyes widen a bit at her appearance, he couldn't help but feel how familiar she looked. Yet this would be the first time he's met her.

"I'm going to be with my son soon enough, I've missed him so much so I must not keep him waiting any longer. If you'll excuse me."

He watches as she walks away when that's when his head began to hurt as he kneels down, holding his head as it throbs in pain.

But just as it sudden began, it gone in an instant, leaving him confused and he looks to see Y/n no where in sight.

That same day, you were getting ready to head to dinner with Childe and Zhongli and standing outside your door to lock it when you feel the familiar sound of Xiao teleporting and you continue locking the door.

"I thought the Conqueror of Demons wasn't fond of being around mortals, what brings you here?" You asks, brushing your dress from wrinkles before looking at him.

He's staring at you before snapping out of it, "I tried to find you."

"Oh? For what exactly?"

"To return the record player, I have no use for such a thing."

He takes a step side to let you walk by and he follows, "that's a shame, well you can give to Verr, she seems quite fond of my music. By the way, how did you know where to find me?"

You glance at him, taking in his appearance, he hasn't changed a bit from back then, well that doesn't surprise you.

"If that's all, I have a dinner to get to." He stay behind, watching as you walk through the crowd and arrive at one of the restaurants and his eyes widen slightly to see Zhongli standing at the entrance.

The tall male smiles at your figure, offering his elbow for you take before walking inside.

It was a long night but it ended with and Zhongli dancing to a recording of your singing being played.

"What's the real reason you invited me tonight?" You asks him as you glance up at him. He's awful quiet and you knew his intentions.

"Zhongli, I've made my choice long ago, it's just time for it come true. We both know that." You two come to a complete stop and with a neutral look on your face, you hug him when he puts his head on your shoulder.

"I don't regret the time we spent all these years, I don't regret anything living this long but it's lonely without my son and my beloved."

You pat his head, "once I'm gone....please just tell Xiao I'm sorry."

Standing in the very same field your son died, you held out your hand out, channeling your Adepti power to recreate a domain opening. Your eyes closed shut to concentrate, the very reason you hardly use your powers was for this moment so you could built it up for this.

"We'll switch places soon, S/n." You mutter as you open your eyes, furrow your brows as you see you're beginning to open the portal. E/c orbs that glowed a bright color furrow as you put everything to this.

Being so focused, you didn't even notice Xiao and the other until you heard your name being called. Gasping, you look up to see them running to you and you quickly put a barrier around you to prevent them to interrupt.

"Y/n! You need to stop!"

You ignore their calls, focusing to make the process go faster.

"Stay back, I'll destroy the barrier." Xiao says and that makes you use your energy much quicker at the sound of the barrier cracking around you.

Gritting your teeth, doing the final push as the portal opens up in front of you.

"No, she's going to enter it. We're too late." Paimon says, watching as you pant of exhausted before standing up straight. Slowly approaching, you smile as you reach for it.

Xiao tried to break the barrier quickly realizing that you're walking towards the light of the portal as if in a daze.

"Y/n! Don't—"

He yells at you but he freezes upon seeing you look back at him, "I'm going to bring our son home, Xiao." With a smile on your face, you enter the portal and the barrier final breaks and Xiao's quick to follow, leaving Aether and Paimon behind.

"Xiao! Wait!"

Aether quickly looks at Paimon, "Paimon you go back to the city, tell Zhongli what happened and stay there. I'll follow them!"

Before she could even say anything, the blonde runs and enters, leaving Paimon behind.

"Hey!"

a/n: I hope this wasn't that confusing and if it was I'll provide a small summary.

you have the ability to erase and change one's memory to what you desire or put them asleep, hence why Xiao doesn't remember you until the spell you put him on breaks, letting him remember everything. You deal with Zhongli was when the time came, he would give you enough energy to create a portal back to the past for a few moments, allowing you to change things but that has a price to pay.

am i about to write a nithvinn dissertation for the bajillionth time? yes. is it going to be about the choice to love again?? also yes because it's MY tumblr dot com and i get to decide what to use it for.

here's the thing, right. i started thinking about a nithvinn soulmate AU and then realized that that's actually lowkey kind of hard. and you may be wondering "why is it hard? 'tis an AU you can do whatever you want" and it's because nithvinn somehow both is and isn't a traditional soulmate situation in my head (schrodinger's soulmate ship)

on one hand there is a part of me that is like. yeah they were fated to meet. they balance each other out very well, they help each other heal, they are so in love that it makes me cry. they fit together like puzzle pieces and i love them so dearly. i feel like destiny kinda always has SOME part in them meeting—sending them to prison, making yaev pass out during his volunteering, hydaelyn being like "ayo squad save the world or whatever", nithral needing to move to a beach yaevinn happens to frequent in order to hydrate. you could argue fate for those.

on the other hand though. the thing is. even if they were fated to MEET, the love part was a choice. i say this all the time. both of them chose to love each other, and imo would choose each other in every life. in fact i'd argue that they literally HAVE because AUs exist. in all the AUs i mentioned above (canon included) they Did Not Have To Do The Love Thing. but they did!! because they chose to.

and i wonder if like. in a soulmate AU. they'd both be aware that they're one another's soulmates. but they're dodging it for one reason or another. like they're just like. "well we sure do have Soulmate AU Trope. pog. goodbye". kind of like how they reacted when eden was first like "?? are you two not married??", that sort of "well this isn't a feeling i'm dealing with rn goodbye [walking in opposite directions to stand on opposite sides of the path returning to camp]"

but then someday the time is right they're just like. okay im not in it for the fact that we have Soulmate AU Trope, i'm in it because i want to be. this is frightening, and i am terrified (whether or not i will admit it. hi nithral), but because i want this. i like how it feels to be around you. i like how i feel when i'm with you, notwithstanding Soulmate AU Trope. i love you regardless of that. i know we're "meant" to be together but i choose to be with you. not because of Fate™. because i want to. because i like you a lot. i like seeing you happy and being a part of your happiness. i like that i'm happy when i'm with you. we're not perfect but you're perfect for me and god i am in love with you.

if this is like. just how soulmate AUs normally are. don't tell me. XD i just think that an AU where nithvinn is outright being told "YOU ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER" and they still need the time to be like. "okay yeah this is smth i wanna do" is neat.

I've returned! I'm listening to Hozier rn and bc my brain is Good Omens now, I've been thinking about a lot of his songs in context of the show and they fit soo painfully well.

In this essay (not really) I'd like to point out some songs that you can add to your GO playlists as well as just talk about Hozier and his lyrics for a bit bc outside of the context of GO bc they are gorgeous and this is my post goddammit.

- Unkown/Nth - this is first in my list bc it is calling to me rn and fits the best with the emotional beats of season 2. It discusses the fear of being unknown in a relationship, for the one you love to not see you for who you are.

Let's not forget to mention that this song is representative of the 9th circle of hell - the Treachery Circle - circle of betrayal. Getting into an elevator to go to heaven and leaving your demon bf is a bit treacherous Az, sry.

GO aside this song is beautiful, it is so earnest and wonderfully captures the feeling of not being seen in a relationship, having the other person just completely unaware of who you really are. And of course, stabbing you in the back too.

Just listen to it, its great.

- Of course we have the gem: From Eden - Crown of the collection. This song is about the snake that tempted Eve in the garden of Eden (and many other things besides). The lyrics are perf for GO, given the context and the chorus "Honey, you're familiar, like my mirror years ago" invokes nostalgia, perhaps of being an angel? And the line about going "to the strand, a picnic planned for you and me" just gives me feels bc we know our boys love a good picnic. "I slithered here from eden just to sit outside your door" okay Crowley.

- Take Me To Church - I feel the need to include this as I feel people will ask if I don't. I don't get A/C feels per se from this, but I understand why it is brought up a lot (other than being on Crowleys playlist), as it does discuss the hypocrisy of the Church and how they use your sins against you for their own gain.

- All Things End - sounds like "nothing lasts forever" 😭 I see the lyrics to this being about a relationship not working out, despite those partaking in it wanting it to and trying to give it another shot. It also talks about everything ending, and despite changing this - this should not change our plans - sounds v 2nd coming-y to meee.

- Francesca: Love the lyrics to this one, it explores themes of love, its endurance and power in the midst of challenges that would most likely shake others devotion. The very last paragraph speaks to me - it sounds light compared to the rest of the songs and I'll let the lyrics speak for themselves:

I would not change it each time

Heaven is not fit to house a love

Like you and I

Wah.

The entire time during episode 9 I was trying and failing to open a jar of ice cream so I was a Little out of it, but from what I gather I'm really dumb and not good at mysteries so i have no clue who the hell did it. At one point I asked "alright who killed a man?" but my bestie heard "who killed min?" so I just kept saying that for the rest of the episode and crying of laughter. Guys, be honest, who killed Min- I'm not mad I just wanna know, guys-

Nico continues to piss me off a little. Teruko goes without saying she pisses me off to no end. When everyone started dragging her handwriting I was whooping and cheering and hollering it was so funny GET HER.

I liked how the two main people investigating the corpse were Arturo and Veronika. They really do get a lot of screentime together and it's starting to scare me a little. Is this like subtle ship fanservice or am I about to meet horrors beyond my comprehension as the story and cases develop. I hope one of them kills the other. They're so in love.

I also liked at one point Veronika dragging Ace's ass. They're ALSO in love btw. Yeah I'll ship my top 3 faves together, what else would you expect from me, man

WIP (WEDNES)DAY!

and i actually have stuff for it! kinda! many thanks to @sstewyhosseini who tagged me 💕

idk who all's workin on stuff rn, so i'll throw some random tags out! @vendettapandav , @detectivelokis , @cybilbennettgf (i just noticed the name change KDJDKDJ) , @kourumi , and anyone else who's a creative/sitting on a wip!

i've begun the plotting process for my latest fic(tm), so here's the official summary and prologue's notes 😌

SYNOPSIS: Hope County, Montana, has been overrun by an extremist religious sect known as the Project at Eden’s Gate. Their leader, Joseph Seed, has effectively cut off the county’s communication with the outside world, and the sudden quiet after the storm has raised the eyes of the federal government. U.S. Marshal Cameron Burke is assigned to accompany a skeleton crew of deputies from the local sheriff’s department to his compound, and serve the warrant necessary to put Joseph behind bars. Accompanying him is Senior Deputy Earl Whitehorse, Deputy Staci Pratt, Deputy Joey Hudson, and Junior Deputy Marion Scott Mitchell.

However, things are quick to go wrong, and the group is separated. All are captured and imprisoned by the cult’s heralds, except for Marion, who now finds himself in the crosshairs of the cult. It is up to him, and those he has befriended within the community, to rise up and put a stop to the cult’s doomsday plot. Will he be able to take down the heralds, or will the chains of their power drag him down beneath the waves?

TITLE INSPIRATION: I wanted to pull from Biblical passages because of the thematic elements, and the fact Eden's Gate as a sect. is very similar to the Seventh Day Adventists (at least in my analysis of them)...

Of course, I had to phone a friend... But I melded our ideas together.

The initial iteration was The Angel's Chain, referencing Revelations 20:1 -> And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

But then I dug deeper, and read the entire chapter. And I liked the overarching theme of angels and false prophets... so... That's how the title ended up growing in size ^^; It can be short-handed though (e.g., Revelations 20 OR Angels and False Prophets).

I mayyy change my mind about making the title so long but that's what we're running aith for now.

And, as promised, the treat of the prologue's notes (please forgive that this section is in all caps, it helps my eyes when I'm writing on my document):

DETAIL THE DAY OF THE RAID. MARION IS IN THE COMMUNITY. HE VISITS ELLIE AND THOMAS, WHO HAVE MOVED INTO THE COUNTY JUST A FEW MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS CLIMAX. HE TELLS ELLIE THAT HE’S GOING TO THE COMPOUND LATER THAT EVENING, EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS HE SHOULDN’T. THEY CAN’T TRUST ANYBODY. THEY HAVE A BIT OF A MOMENT, BUT THEIR FEELINGS ARE BURIED. THEY’RE CLOSE FRIENDS, NOTHING MORE. EXCEPT IT FEELS LIKE THAT. THOMAS SEES THEM GET SAD AND ASKS WHAT’S GOING ON, TO WHICH MARION EXPLAINS THAT HE’S GOING TO BE DOING A REALLY BIG JOB AND THAT HE MIGHT NOT SEE THEM AGAIN FOR A LITTLE WHILE. THOMAS IS SAD. THEY HUG IT OUT; ELLIE JOINS. HE BIDS THEM GOODBYE. CUT TO THE CHOPPER. HE’S THINKING OF THEM. BURKE NOTICES HE LOOKS OUT OF THE GAME. HE WAVES IT OFF AND SAYS IT’S NOTHING, JUST NERVES. INTRO SEQUENCE. CRASH.

SEPARATION. SURVIVAL INSTINCT KICKING IN. THE COUNTY HAS GONE TO SHIT AND MARION IS BARELY ALIVE ON THE SHORE. A MAN (DUTCH) GRABS HIM AND DRAGS HIM OFF. END.
