I was tagged by the lovely @naranjapetrificada to share my Thoughts and Speculations for the timeline of OFMD S2, ie "eight predictions for eight episodes." Thank you, and sorry for the late response; I was facing The Horrors (derogatory). But now that the panic that is OFMD S2 being almost 3 weeks away is setting in, WHAT BETTER TIME TO RAMBLE ON AND ON ABOUT IT HSDJKS~

girlies (gn) there is honestly so much to account for. there are so many different elements that we've seen through promotional material and spoilers that i'm just like,,, how is this all going to Fit. BUT LET'S TRY OUR BEST SHALL WE LMAO-

((also hi hello this is ✨Jodi From the Future✨ coming in after typing up this entire thing, and realizing it was only supposed to be like,,, eight ideas for what's going to happen in the eight episodes. meanwhile my bitchass did a full blown prediction for what's going to go down timeline wise PFFF. BUT SURE YEAH THAT COUNTS AS ONLY EIGHT RIGHT? IT'S FINE,,,))

Episode 1. I think this is going to be more of an establishing episode. Establishing where the characters are, what they're up to, what challenges they're facing, etc etc. So, it'll likely focus on Stede's yearning, and Ed's heartbreak. I wouldn't be surprised if the "he's actually a good guy," the bottle kiss, and the wedding crash are all in this episode. And maybe it'll end off with the wedding topppersjfskfhsjklklbf,,,

Episode 2. An episode to build off of the motivations established in one, and also to move the characters a bit closer to each other. Maybe this is the episode where Stede tries to employ the help of the Red Flag Fleet, because they need a better mode of transportation to catch up with the Revenge. And maybe if that doesn't go too hot lol, maybe the storm will be towards the end of this episode to beach the Revenge somewhere. Though, I feel like that's quite a dramatic event, and would make more sense to occur a bit deeper in the season? But based on the rest of my thoughts/theories, it simply Does Not Fit SJKDS. So for now, I'm treating it as like, a divine intervention type beat where the crews are being beckoned closer together.

Episode 3. For SOME reason, be it just crossed fingies or the consideration of parallels or both, I have a feeling that Stede and Ed are going to reunite at the end of this episode. I think taking the episode release schedule into consideration also points to a reunion, because then we'd be left to sit with that for a week l m a o. I feel like we'll get to see all the intense emotions of them seeing each other for the first time in months, and their subsequent awe/reactions, before it abruptly cuts off as a cliffhanger. As for the actual BODY of the episode?? MAYBE the storm could also fit here in the middle somewhere, with the same sort of "the universe is wanting these people to be back together so lol STORM BE UPON YE."

Episode 4. The aftermath of the reunion. You get to see the proper reactions, ie Ed probably being dismissive and Stede trying to remain warm/enthusiastic. And then allllll the characterization that comes along with that, ie Stede's crew being like "I told you so" or Izzy being like "oh my FOOKIN god edward was throwing knives around and crying and making us crash weddings and now stede actually shows up and tHIS IS WHERE WE'RE AT???" So maybe, MAYBE, this is where Izzy steps in and tries to better things a bit by helping Stede, because he's Sick and Tired HSDJKLS. Like, this'll be the Fanfiction Episode™.

Episode 5. Wouldn't it be something if the party was in this episode to mirror the 5th episode in season 1 l m a o. And forgive me, because my theories towards Certain Events have seesawed ALL OVER THE PLACE HSDKJS. But hear me out hear me out. So episode 5 starts off as a sort of continuation from episode 4, and maybe Stede is trying to work himself up to better woo Ed. Like he's pulling out all the stops, which is why he's trying to train and better himself and do whatever he can.

But then MAYBE he has some sort of realization that like...Edward, his Ed, was so so excited to go to the Fancy Party Full of Hoity Toity People™. And was so so happy to dress up and be beautiful and feel himself. And so he decides to host a similar party on the Revenge for everyone, because not only would it be good for morale, but good for his beloved. So, they do, and everyone is Hype. Wee John gets to dress in drag, Roach gets to fire canons, etc etc. It's all so full of color and life and happiness again.

And, of course, maybe Ed and Stede have a Moment of some sort. I'm really really praying for a "Ed...May I have this dance?" type thing, followed by them having their first quiet and romantic moment of the season. And you can SEE some of Ed's walls coming down, even though he'd probably still be hesitant/tense. Maybe they even have an almost kiss type moment jUST LIKE IN THE PREVIOUS 5TH EPISODE. Or maybe the hhngfngmfngdmfd pearls,,,

...But then EVERYTHING CHANGED WHEN THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED SJDKSHKLDS. Because that ONE shot in the trailer where Wee John is shown in drag looks like a party, but also a party that was crashed by very unwelcome guests. So like, wouldn't it be something if the almost kiss moment was interrupted by some sort of enemy, and everything rapidly goes downhill.

Everyone gets bound, Stede gets tied to the mast, and...what if THIS is where Ed is thrown overboard. What if the enemy is someone who has it out for pirates, and very much has it out for Blackbeard in particular. So, they tie up Ed and throw him overboard in a murder/execution attempt, and Stede has to watch :))). Something something a parallel to Ed having to watch Stede get almost killed NUMEROUS times hskdjs. The turns have tabled.

And maybe there's a desperate moment between them right before Ed's thrown over. Maybe a desperate lock of their eyes, a desperate scream from Stede, a desperate declaration of feelings, even. And then the episode ends with Ed in the water.

Episode 6. The aftermath of episode 5 ofc. Stede and the crew have been captured, or maybe even just Stede has been captured. And Ed washes up on the beach alone.

I think this'll be where Ed sort of grounds himself and comes back into himself, because the gravity of the situation will hit him particularly hard. Like, he FELT things again. He felt BEAUTIFUL again. He felt DESIRED again. He felt like HIMSELF again. And didn't act upon it, and got separated from his sweetheart before he could. I wouldn't be surprised if he subsequently fights ghosts/demons of his own here, ie Hornigold or his father or individuals equivalent. So like, the barrel/clobbering shot is him fighting against his past type deal.

And then MEANWHILE, I think this is where Stede's going to get tortured. The darlings are both going to Go Through It in this episode.

AND, the more I look at that one shot of Ed in the woods with someone present with him, the more I'm like...IS that Wee John??? Or is that someone else? Because it would be something if the Revenge Crew was left alone, and only Stede was captured for his crimes against the Navy (murders and the escape from the academy). And then they somehow try and scramble/get help/link back up with the Red Fleet/find Ed themselves.

So, that one shot could have been them doing just that, and catching him up to speed after all that's happened. And maybe there's some sort of pivotal forgiveness moment/apology moment between Ed and the crew there too.

And then everyone's like...holy shit we need to go and KICK ASS ALL TOGETHER.

Episode 7. ✨The Battle Episode✨. Aka everyone kicking ass all together HSKDLS. Everyone uniting against a common enemy and battling it the hell out. There could be naval battles out at sea between the Red Flag Fleet, the Revenge, and the Navy, and then battles on foot on the black sand beach.

Something something wherever the enemy took Stede to torture him was also the same island Ed ended up on PFFFF. So, something something Stede somehow gets free, be it through his own devices or his crew, and they all start battling it out.

And ED is of course in the fray as well, especially pissed if he hears what they did to Stede.

Annnnd it leads to yet another reunion, ie them fighting to each other on the black sands. And I really, really, REALLY cannot express how badly I want them to fight to each other just to strongly kiss the moment they make it.

Annnnnndd then okay lol the CAVE. I'm thinking that one or both of them sustain injuries, or maybe just have to go and hide out somewhere since they're both VERY much wanted by the enemy. Something something them having to tend to each other and also having emotional conversations/talking it through, mixed in with more kisses.

Annnnnnnnnnd something something they all manage to fend off the enemy...*Buttons voice* FER NOW...

Episode 8. I think this episode would start off very unassuming. Like, the crews have won their battle, and go on to celebrate/recuperate. Maybe this is where they end up at Jackie's, and Ed gets to do those Soft Eyes, because he feels better and safe and IN LOVE. And so maybe things will be a bit easy-going and romantic to start off with.

Remember the friggin lighthouse. Something something "major romantic moment between two key characters." Something something WHAT IF ED AND STEDE HAVE A MAJOR ROMANTIC MOMENT IN THE LIGHTHOUSE HERE. would they be insane enough to do a proposal or something equivalent idk. i think i wouldn't make it to the other side if that was the case.

and if it's not a full proposal, even a deep declaration like stede going "i'll be by your side forever. if you'll have me" would just be hsfkshfskljkladhalkjhdfklgd.

But of course lol, OF COURSE, SILLY LITTLE PIRATE SHOW WILL PROBABLY END WITH SILLY LITTLE PIRATE PROBLEMS.

So, I would not be surprised if some SHIT goes down at the end of episode 8, maybe even leaving Ed and Stede separated again. Or at least putting them up against very very high stakes.

*GASPS FOR AIR* LMAO. I know I'm not even accounting for everything we've seen here. I know there are still elements like LUCIUS, the other couples, Anne and Mary, and some other little tidbits we've seen. But this is just what my brain Cooked. THIS IS WHERE WE ENDED UP SHDJKS.

And it'll be very very interesting to see what actually happens.

I have a big question. Well maybe not really but anyway, I saw your tags on that gifset of Brian not being interested in anyone except Justin. And i have so many thoughts on Brian and Justin and Britin as a whole on monogamy. I agree that Brian would never be monogamous (fully), maybe later on in life like 50+ but before that? Nah. I just can’t imagine it. Maybe he would slowly reduce the amount of tricks but I don’t think he’d ever fully stop. But I am wondering what are your thoughts on it? And also Justin? Because he is where I always stumble a bit. Because he did want monogamy and then he didn’t in s3/4. And tbh, I always felt like the season 3 and LA Justin was the more accurate one. He obviously wanted monogamy but I don’t think he wanted the Ben/Michael version or would even want that later on (i am ignoring that the writers fucked shit up because even Randy said Justin was always changing his mind bc of the storylines or whatever) but what are your thoughts on it? Or just Britin and monogamy as a whole? Do you think they’d ever settle down fully? Because i feel like IF they would, it wouldn’t be because Justin suddenly started dropping hints or whatever but it would be fully Brian deciding it because he wanted to. This turned out a lot longer than i wanted it to be, my apologies :) anyway if you feel like writing down every thought on this topic, this is my request for it lol

I do have thoughts about monogamy and Britin (tbh I have thoughts about everything QAF).

I don’t think Brian would ever be fully monogamous. There are some fics that I love (Only Time by Xie) where they do decide to become monogamous and somehow they remain in-character. But I think the most in-character would be to keep him non-monogamous. I have friends who are married and have an open relationship. I don’t know if they have “rules” but I do know that “no repeats” is not one of them (bc one of them had a sugar baby for a minute). They (we) are approaching 50 and don’t appear to be slowing down much, as far as I can tell. I also live in a gay neighborhood and I know plenty of queer men who are out and having loads of sex at allllll ages. So even if Brian slowed down, I don’t think he would ever be even de facto monogamous. Business trips? When Justin’s out of town? Yeah, he’s going to go out. Also, Grindr exists. So even if he’s not interested in clubbing as much anymore, he can still get sex.

As for Justin, I think he wanted some explicit acknowledgement that he was special compared with the tricks. He got that by living with Brian and by being his partner (however unconventional). I don’t understand S5 Justin. I really don’t. So I can’t fit that into my understanding. If we take S4 Justin as canon, then I think eventually he would have wanted Brian to articulate those three words (I love you) at least once. I think eventually he may have wanted marriage. And I think Brian would have married him (if only for the benefits, being an artist does not come with health insurance) (and, sure Brian, we will all let you say it was for the health insurance and not because you like making Sunshine happy).

I think ultimately, Brian and Justin would move to NYC (together, because we’re erasing S5), gotten married, remained non monogamous, and Brian would have said “I love you.” And that would be their happily ever after.

So, I can barely believe you darlings have gotten me to 91% of my Ko-fi goal - that's crazy and I am so thankful for all your amazing support 😭💜 I do have a few words to share because of some DM's I've been getting - it's a tad long, sorry loves 👉👈

If you've been along for a little while (and recently) you probably know I'm working extremely hard towards my goal of becoming a full-time author - writing my own worlds, creating my own characters, and developing my own twisted plots with emphasis on emotions and sensations as you all seem to love (myself included). And, every cent you donate in support of my writing shenanigans goes towards that dream goal of mine.

I am trying to turn over every dollar I have to scrape and save enough for an editor and I greatly underestimated that cost but my goal of $500 remains on Ko-fi as that's what I've been striving to reach for about 1.5 years now - even if I now know I need $1500.

HOWEVER, with that said I have had some worried fic readers slide into my DM's wondering if I'll abandon the world of fanfiction now that I am pouring all my time and energy into this dream.

I will not.

I am here, I have been here (on this Tumblr) since 2013 and I'll be here 2053 too. I am writing fanfiction and I will never stop loving the fandom world - gosh, I'm hoping my own creations will inspire fandom worlds!

Fanfiction is a creative outlet, where I can do all the crazy, senseless, fun, sporadic, erratic, and ridiculously illogical stuff I cannot put in my original writing in the same manner. Fandom is my home, where I found a family and amazing friends. So no, I'm not going anywhere.

I'm right here, and here is where I'll stay. Just in a less intense way, but still here.

If you've read this entire ramble, damn, kudos to you for that. But, you probably know I usually give something to those who read allllll the way through my text post, oh, that's why you're here, isn't it little darling of mine? Okay, here's your reward: Snape's heart does a summersault each time you call him a good man, his knees grow weak when you openly claim him as yours with kisses he pretends to be annoyed by, and when you gently kiss the spot right below his ear he goes hard as a rock in one second flat, you have that effect on him. Djinn dream fic!!!! Oh, tell me more!!!!!

Hiiii!!! Now this wip I've had sitting around for far too long. I know if you dig through the 'my writing' tag you'll eventually find posts and snippets of this one. But since I have no idea if it'll ever truly see the light of day instead of just bouncing around my skull, I'm happy to go into more detail!

The basic idea was that I wanted to write a djinn dream scenario (Actually I played with this one wellll before The Way You Did Once Upon A Dream) but this one is from Cas' point of view. As the story plays out it becomes more and more obvious that it's not entirely his dream. Plenty of old fan favorite characters are alive in this world, and the angel wings are healed, but there's elements that scream Dean's desires way more than Cas.

Here are some of my notes:

It's one of those things where if either of them stopped to think about the situation they would figure it out, but instead they're falling into the trap of enjoying what's happening...so they're both missing allllll the red flags.

And ideally everything would highlight and then later get to them addressing with each other hidden desires, regrets, and wants...basically everything neither of these boneheads would admit out loud.

I also have another note where I was playing around with a gag of the Sam-Eileen-Rowena-Gabriel polycule in the background because neither Dean nor Cas can decide on who Sam should be with. So it's an amalgamation of memories and thoughts they both have had about Sam's relationships. And when the real Sam shows up to get them out he's soo embarrassed.

What's the story behind your username: some weird combination of my name and the word Literally 😅 I actually wanted it to sound more like Literary because I made it up before posting my first fic but literali fit better with my name. Sometimes I wish I could change it but...it's probably too late now! 1110 is my bday :)

General location: Eastern hemisphere. How's that for general? ;P

Tell us something cool about you in real life: my background is in science and I'm starting a new job soon I'm pretty excited about working on developing a gene therapy drug!

Favorite Chenford moment: this is hard but I think I'm going to be cliche and say the moment he saves her in 2x11 just because of how he's holding on to her for dear life. And just the whole arc of him feeling responsible for what happened to her - GOLD.

Here are some of my first thoughts I shared on a chat after I saw that episode:

"OMG the rookie 2x11 WOW I already knew what the storyline was but to actually see it - the way they had no music at the end/just lucy singing 🥺

And then TIM was the one who found her and got her out and preformered CPR including MOUTH TO MOUTH (which I'm pretty sure you're not really supposed to do anymore so that was totally for the drama/fans) and then she was sobbing and he HELD HER, I wish could hear what he was saying to her there, and the he stayed by her bed the WHOLE night 😍😍😍 "

Moment that made you start shipping them: I started watching already knowing about the ship and I binged the show in about a week (thru 3x04 I think) but I don't think I really saw them with potential to be a couple (at least not at that moment in time) in the very beginning - Tim was, well, an ass, for a while. But then Lucy stood up to him with Isabel and I think 1x20 is when I really felt more strongly about them as a couple. In S2 their relationship definitely felt like it was in a new place and let's talk about 2x03 THE BET because that, I feel, is a HUGE sign from the writers that Chenford was going to be a thing. The looks she gives him in the episode? Please.

And then came 2x11 and you already saw my thoughts on that above and I think by then I was fully on board the Chenford train! And of course reading all the great fic about them just made me love them and want them together even more!

Who you think will realize they have FEELINGS first:

I think I agree with what I've seen a lot of people say - that Tim will realize first (maybe when Lucy goes UC?) But he'll wait for Lucy to make the first move. And after her "confession" she seems pretty unaware of her feelings so we'll see when that happens...

Favorite character who isn’t Lucy or Tim:

Jackson or Angela.

But also Nyla!

And Kojo ❤️

Favorite Chenford headcanon:

I love that everyone decided they're going to have a daughter. I love that they have a dog together - I'm not sure if they're at the place where they take hikes together just yet but I'm sure Lucy dogsits sometimes and begs Tim for pictures.

They're gonna be surrogate parents to Tamara for the rest of her life.

They're gonna be aunt and uncle to angel and Wesley's kids and vice versa.

And they're never gonna stop trying to one up eachother, always challenging one another and setting up little pranks!

prooooobably throw your shadow over me. there is zero resolution since it’s a missing scene set in late season 3 and, well..... lol. it’s seriously miserable.

Just the one Hannigram AU I think???? I have never been super into crossovers tbh.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

lol yes, but it’s been a while???? although i did get one comment on a fic last year that wasn’t technically hate but it put such a bad taste in my mouth it might as well have been. it’s never a good idea to tell someone you don’t like the way they write a character, regardless of your intent. it is okay to simply hit the back button and move on with your day. :)

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

So much. Maybe too much???? Whatever. I really love writing deeply meaningful and descriptive sex that feels like an entire ~experience for my readers.

Yep. :)

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! @lazybakerart and I collaborated on a Hannibal fic years ago and we had so much fun.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

Queliot now and forever. I have never in all my life had my heart completely fucking consumed like this. I’ve written close to a half million words about these bitches since 4x05 aired and I think I’m physically incapable of stopping at this point.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

That season one AU I started writing when season 4 ended that’s an entire 70k mess sitting in a doc I haven’t touched since 2019. There were some really cool ideas in it (including an alternate mosaic timeline that was like a probability spell sorta?????) and I mayyyyy one day incorporate some of it into another fic, but as a whole I simply do not think it’s worth the effort it would take to make it good enough to post.

What are your writing strengths?

I think I write sex and romance well??? Also: conversations, similes, and sensory language.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Last night I had to describe the suspenders Quentin was trying on. I will probably have to spend an entire day editing that paragraph alone. I can go on for pages and pages about this deeply meaningful and emotional shit and then freeze up when I have to get a character dressed or make them move from one room to the next... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

This is a deeply ironic question for me to answer at the moment because I generally do not do this BUT there’s a moment in the new chapter of a litany of dreams that I’m working on where Eliot says... something. In another language. During a very specific scene. And it just sort of happened???? It’s a term of endearment (that I googled about ten different ways just to make sure I wasn’t fucking it up lmao) and I’m still 50/50 on whether it will make it into the final draft of the chapter but right now every time I think about my heart mayyyybe starts to beat a little faster. Eliot Waugh is a goddamn sap, y’all.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

My time cast a spell on you series without a doubt. I am SO PROUD of the work I’ve put into the 200k written for this ‘verse so far. It’s the biggest challenge keeping everything tonally consistent, but so deeply rewarding every time I finish a chapter and read it over and feel like I’ve accomplished just that. I’ve learned so much about my process and who I want to be as a writer from this ‘verse. And I’m so excited about all the messy and emotionally complex stuff I have planned for the remainder of part two. And allllll the other fics I have planned for this ‘verse in the future. 💖

3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

lmao yeah. It’s petty, but honestly, people’s personal morals really bleed through into their fandom opinions, and I’m not willing to put up with any unnecessary hate, especially in environments that are supposed to be fun. I’ve even blocked a few people. In the ppg fandom specifically, I’ve blocked a person who, I guess, thought it was necessary to try to gate-keep with racist/sexist/etc. terminology and ideologies, and I truly don’t have time for that 🤷‍♀️ (a lot of people probs know who I’m vaguing, but if you don’t, you’re lucky)

I can’t say I’ve ever unfollowed anyone for any innocent/not-in-conflict-with-my-morals fandom opinions. Usually, if I don’t agree with something, I just keep scrolling because lol whatever. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

but ngl I have unfollowed people who just get annoying 😬😬 lol

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*

I went into this fandom without having too many preferences, so I didn’t have a pairing that I’ve previously hated!

I guess I could say that while I never really hated them, the color-mixing and color-clashing ships weren’t ever on my radar until I came across the fandom content. Now, I really like them! Particularly, Brick and Bubbles!

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*

Before anyone gets pissed off at me, before you get into my answer for this question, I’d like to really stress that you’ve got to go into it with absolutely zero fanon context. Like, erase all your headcanons from your mind. I’m dead serious. Because I literally DO NOT get why ANY rrbxppg ship would realistically work ever.

Okay, canonically, these six little funky science experiments were dead set on ending each other. The boys were absolutely horrible to the girls. And the girls literally KILL the boys. I know in fairytale romances, nothing stops love, but bruh, it’s hard to come back from murder 😂 And yeah, I know Clipsville showed the girls and the boys together as older teenagers, and they weren’t trying to kill each other, but that was an obvious gag. In the documentary, it was revealed that that particular “clip” was made because a bunch of people wanted the boys and girls to interact again, and CN gave into the demand. (also, lol I know it super embarrassing, but I did watch the documentary. I just really like Craig McCracken) I just don’t think that realistically a canon pairing between the two sets of triplets would ever be considered a healthy relationship.

Also, ethically, I just—okay listen, I go back and forth with this allllll the time, but the ppgxrrb ships make me confront the “Would I sleep with my clone?” question way too often. Depending on my self-esteem, the answer changes each time. Like sometimes I’m like fuck yeah I would! Other times I’m like, ew, no, I’d have to consider my clone as a twin! I know counterparts aren’t technically clones, BUT the boys really do come across as identical to the girls in the show. The only difference really is their moral alignment (I’m nixing any gender argument). So, I’m like, omg, can I honestly pair these six together in any way??? Are they too close to each other genetically in some sense for this to be morally right??? Like if you ship Brick and Buttercup together, would that just essentially be shipping Brick and Butch/Blossom and Buttercup together in some messed up way??? Is Brick just Blossom, and Blossom just Brick?? Is it better just to ship color-matching instead of mixing???

On top of all of that, wouldn’t the boys and girls be pseudo cousins since Mojo was the Professor’s lab monkey? Technically, in canon, Mojo ends up being both sets of triplets “creator,” so could the rrb and the ppg be considered siblings of some sort? Some of you are probably like, wow, calm down. Stop thinking about it. They’re science experiments. It’s not so deep. Which I get, but I can’t stop, so let me hit you with something ten times worse: should the girls (or the boys) actually be considered biological siblings? Does sugar, spice, and everything nice make you genetically related? Nothing put in the stirring pot was organic—just a bunch of chemicals. If you ship the boys and girls together this could be a good thing! BUT, but, could some sick fuck use this information to somehow justify shipping siblings (ppgxppg or rrbxrrb) together??? This is a literal nightmare to think about!!

All in all, I can’t think about these pairings too much without getting caught up in the logistics of their existence even if they’re fictional lmaoooo! If it wasn’t for the fandom, I wouldn’t ship them together at all. I just think it’s amazing that the ships took off like they did lol, because their literal (fictional) existence is just one giant mind fuck for me. Anyway, I ship them at the end of the day, but tbh I do it with a bit of a guilty conscience. Is it morally correct to ship clone-like counterparts? Or should counterparts be treated like twins? Does it even fucking matter at the end of the day, it’s just fiction? I don’t know the right answer. But I do know the pairings don’t make sense.

Aside from the ppgxrrb, I don’t think there are many other BIG fandom wide pairings. Still, I just want to say that I don’t get why people ship Ace and Buttercup together. The pairing sounds off a few major alarms in my head for obvious reasons. There’s also a bunch of crack ships that involve crossovers with other cartoons. Generally, I don’t mind them, but it seems popular to ship Aku (from Samurai Jack) and Blossom together. And I’m real sorry to those devoted shippers, but again I do NOT get it. I see a lot of romantic fan art depicting romantic situations with Blossom still drawn as a child, and like I get Aku is an immortal demon, so “age is just a number,” but again, BIG ALARMS go off in my head.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?*

🙃 🙃 Kind of don’t want to answer this, but I will anyway because only a few people actually read my blog lolol, so lol, yep! And it’s the reds. Don’t shoot me lol. When I was in middle school, I got into this fandom, forgot about it, and then came back when I was hit by a round of nostalgia. I’m finishing up college now, and I can confidentially say that the fanon content for the reds hasn’t changed one bit. Or the demand for it.

I tended to find that a lot of red content follows many archetypes that I’m just not into. Their stories can get a real cringey, real fast. Blossom is always written like this “perfect, except she’s not (but she really is)” character. Like she’s the girl you WISH you could be, but she’s also going through a shit ton of stuff that no person IRL would be able to handle without having a mental breakdown. And sometimes, in some stories, Blossom does have a mental breakdown, but in a sexy way, so she’s still perfect. Generally, there’s still something problematic about Blossom that makes it easy for a reader to relate to her on some level, unlike the way people write Bubbles. And then there’s Brick, who’s broody, hyper-possessive or jealous, and hot figuratively and literally (gotta love the fire/ice trope). He’s the only boy—no! Wait!—the only person who could ever possibly outwit Blossom, and he is just so undeniably attracted to Blossom. They’re the smart power couple that should honestly just hook-up in Chapter One to save everybody time, but they don’t. Nah, they’ve got to survive at least two love triangles before they even consider admitting they’re attracted to each other.

And don’t get me wrong, none of that’s bad, but there are a million fanfics that go through the same song and dance with these two. And it’s kind of easy to tell when someone’s hardcore projecting onto Blossom because the type of person they’re personally attracted to is the way they write Brick. And I’m not knocking anyone self-projecting onto characters, sometimes people got to do that to give themselves a fun mental break, but bro, I don’t want to read about it. For one, smart broody assholes aren’t my type. Maybe when I was in middle school, but not anymore. And two, it’s just not interesting to me, which is a real shame since the reds are a majority of the fanon content.

Maybe if I found more red stories where the plot isn’t character-driven but plot-driven, so I see the romance between these two characters in a context where it’s not the main focus of the story, it would solve my issue with the pairing. I haven’t found many fics like that, though.

I can’t really think of any reds fic where I’m like ey, this aint bad unless it has a “major character death” tag attached to it lmao (which are always plot driven stories). However, in all honesty, since I’ve stayed away from red content for a while now, I don’t know the current state of things. Maybe there’s been a load more development for these two, or people have broken away from the same plotlines, but I’m too busy to check. I do browse people’s fic rec lists from time to time, but it sort of feels like everyone just puts the same fics on their lists and moves on.

And before someone’s like, “well, you can say all this about the greens or the blues,” just know I’m fully aware. The greens make me cringe too because there’s a shit ton of possessive and abusive storylines filling their story tags. And what makes me super uncomfortable is how people make Buttercup hit Butch or call him derogatory names, oftentimes unprompted. I don’t know why people make Buttercup such an unlikeable and overly aggressive person. I also don’t get why they make Butch some perverted idiot, but to each their own, I guess? Still, I see these green-character patterns most often in red-focused stories, which is another reason why I avoid them. I’ve found a lot of green-focused content that strays from the abusive tropes I try to avoid. Considerably less than I’d like, but the greens are typically the b-plot pairing, so that’s to be expected. Personally, I’d really like to see more content with the greens finding some kind of inner peace, and recently, I’ve seen a few fics that have tried to tackle this concept.

And lol, if you’ve read some of my posts before, you already know that I think the blues are an underdeveloped fanon pairing. The fandom can’t ruin that pairing for me because it never does anything substantial with it.

Anyway, at the end of the day, I’m just personally not into the way the reds are popularly written, but I get why people are and that’s good with me.

22. “Stop making me laugh!”

Estrella was, by nature, a comedian. She liked making people laugh, including herself. Even if others didn’t understand her humor, she found herself funny, and her pops taught her that that’s all that matters!

She would like someone to laugh at her jokes, though. Even just once or twice, you know? Just to know she isn’t a totally hopeless joker. She didn’t have many friends in school or on her road, but... well, she can’t say that changed much when she got kidnapped. Obviously. A killing game ain’t exactly daycare.

But she did meet some people that laughed at her jokes.

Sara was one. She was a pretty chill person overall, getting along with almost everyone, including Estrella! They didn't talk every day, but most days they had a conversation or two, not really talking about anything important. They did convene during investigations sometimes, though!

“Hey, Sara! I got a hetero joke for ya.”

“Pfff, haha! That’s one way of phrasing it. Ok, what is it?”

“Mhm! So, what did Cinderella say when she got to the ball?” Estrella asked, leaning down on the table where Sara was sitting. Vera listened in too.

“How is this a hetero joke- I don’t know, what?”

Estrella smirked, then opened her mouth and stuck her finger in, making a gagging sound. Sara raised an eyebrow for a second, taking a moment.

Internally, Estrella panicked. Did she get it? Was that too hetero of a joke? She’ll admit, it was kinda inappropriate. In fairness though, she’d heard it off her pops! She wasn’t to blame though.

Suddenly though, Sara exploded, wheezing with laughter. Estrella sighed softly in relief, laughing too.

“F-for goodness sake, Estrella! That’s- god, that’s terrible-!”

“Hey, you laughed!”

“I know and I hate it!”

Estrella laughed more, then stood up properly again. She placed her hands behind her head.

“Well then, my job here is done! I’ll be seeing you, ladies~” Estrella said, turning with a wink and a wave, strolling out.

She was always a flirt.

Aeja... Where does she begin? Aeja was great. At the start, Estrella didn’t see her as much more as another stick in the mud, but after Aeja laughed at a joke Estrella made in the first trial, she started paying the copycat a lot more attention.

And evidently, Aeja returned the favour.

The two started hanging out more and more as the game progressed. At the start, Aeja was probably just sticking with her out of pity or something. Estrella knows that much; she may be stupid but she isn’t that stupid. But after a while of incessant flirting and jokes, Estrella likes to think Aeja started enjoying being around her too.

One day, Aeja was in the library with some of the others, reading with them. It had been quiet; almost silent actually, when Estrella arrived.

“Oh Aejaaaa~!”

Aeja turned around in her chair, watching Estrella bound into the room. She smiled, closing her book. Looking back at Hayden and Oliver, who she had been reading with, she excused herself and stood up, meeting Estrella halfway.

“Good afternoon, Estrella. How are you?” She asked. Estrella sighed dramatically, placing a hand over her forehead. Her mood swings were a part of the comedy.

“Ah, just horrible! I haven’t seen you allllll moooorning, don’t you know how torturous that can be?!” She exclaimed. Aeja chuckled softly, bringing Estrella’s hand back down.

“Sorry I didn’t catch you at breakfast. I had matters to attend to.”

“Matters like sitting in a room full of dead cows and paper?”

“Why do you phrase the library like that..? And no, me and Hayden were investigating the new areas of the school that opened up. We came here shortly after.” Aeja explained. Estrella hummed.

“Ok, ok, a valid excuse.”

“It’s not quite an excu-”

“But that doesn't excuse leaving me on my own! I had to have a conversation with Aspirin, Aeja! ASPIRIN! I was that bored!” She exclaimed, shaking Aeja for more dramatic effect. Have you noticed how dramatic Estrella is yet?

Aeja laughed, grabbing Estrella’s wrists to steady her.

“His name is Aspen, Estrella. And I’m so terribly sorry you had to interact with others like a normal human being.” Aeja responded, smirking. Estrella feigned shock.

“How dare you?? My own dear Aeja, insulting me? I don’t believe it!” After a moment, she hummed, then smiled. “Actually, nah, I believe it. Aaaanyways, you’re here now! Now we can finally hang out! Woo!” She cheered. Aeja laughed a bit louder this time, then looked around at Hayden and Oliver, then back to Estrella.

“Stop making me laugh! This is a library, we’re supposed to be quiet.” She murmured. Estrella raised an eyebrow and smirked.

“Oh, right. I forgot, oopsies! Well...”

She then walked forward and leaned right in close to Aeja, right against her ear.

“Should I whisper, then? Will this do?” She whispered, right into Aeja’s ear. She knew what she was doing.

Aeja practically squeaked, shoving Estrella away. “Estrella! Don’t do that...”

“Aww, did I scare ya?” Estrella asked, hands on her hips. In her head, she was winning this encounter. Even if she couldn’t break character now, she’d be in hysterics over this later.

“Not quite scared, per say...” Aeja replied, placing a hand over her face.

“Well, if you weren't scared too badly, then you can definitely play with me, right? Right!”

“Wait, what? What do you-”

Estrella reached forward and leaned in again, whispering again. She got such a reaction the first time!

“Tag. You’re it~”

She tapped Aeja’s shoulder before springing away and dashing out of the room. Aeja stood there for a second, taking it in.

“I... wait- hey! Estrella!”

Aeja turned back to the Boys for a second. “Sorry, I have to go! I’ll see you two later-!” Was what she said before running after her.

Estrella smiled as she ran, re-running the events in her head. That's was great! It’s nice for someone to actually respond to her advances, even if they’re jokes.

“If jokes are funny, then I’m a joke! My whole thing is jokes, right? Then I suppose that makes me one, too.” She thought.

She smiled again.

She must be one hell of a funny joke to get Sara and Aeja to laugh like they did.

3— Does your muse exist in other settings? Other fictional universes, or alternate universes? If not, what other universes could they fit into? What would they be like in the real world?

Yes! Or, well, she did but I’ve since stopped being involved in them. The main one was World of Warcraft and that was where she started allllll the way back in 2004. That version of Ahlis (which was somewhat based off another character from another fandom/verse, lol oh boy) was my first honest foray into role playing in an MMO and I learned a great deal about what RP was like in very large communities. That Ahlis was more...militaristic, vengeful, and political. She harbored a genuine hatred for some races of the Horde and held a reputation for being a ruthless and cunning arcanist.

Other versions of her have also existed but not to the extent of WoW. I made Ahlis as a jedi in the Old Republic MMO, as well as in Guild Wars 2; none of these iterations really took off. I’d love to someday see how a D&D version of Ahlis would turn out...should I ever learn how to play it and have a group that sticks with it lol.

Ahlis in the real world would be an accomplished person, but a bit of a loner. A real career woman. Did well in school as she double-majored in her undergrad, and maybe muscled through architecture school or went all the way and got her PhD with some sort of esoteric thesis in archaeology. Meanwhile she continues to practice playing harp, an elective she picked up in elementary school, and wishes she had more time to practice her fencing, which she started in high school. Social life? Sorry don’t know her!

10— How does your muse change the way you write? Do you write them differently than other muses if you have multiple? (or vs. past muses)

I would say so, in that I feel I have a lot more eyes on me now than I did way back when I began to try character writing in WoW. I kept a lot of my personal bits of writing to guild-related forums and just a touch on tumblr. I never posted anything to AO3 or even fanfiction.net when that was still big. Now I find myself thinking a lot (and maybe more than I should) about what people will see in my work. Will others like or dislike it, will readers be entertained? Back then just my guildmates or friends would see my stuff, but now? We have twitter and tumblr and likes, reblogs, etc etc...it was a different world, in some ways. It’s difficult not to compare myself to others and their writings these days, even that of friends at times! I would say that impacts the way I write now more than my character and the themes I tackle, as those are familiar to me. But sometimes I feel the way I did back in ye olde times of AOL when you had to fight for recognition, to make yourself known and “compete” for your slice of the pie. People don’t like to call the fanfic side of fandoms cutthroat for likes or reblogs or kudos...but if you ask me, it can be.

Okay so normally I would have left it at the bitchy post and move on but honestly I’ve had problems with Caithe’s writing for a long time and it’s high time I made a rant post so I can stop thinking about it.

Under the cut is a giant rant about how Anet shafted Caithe’s character and didn’t do her nearly close to the justice she deserved, while in the process messing with the Commander’s story in ways that still bother me and that I’ve rewritten in my own personal canon.

Tagging this as long post in case the readmore breaks. Tagging it as Caithe for personal filing. Don’t like it, don’t read it.

(spoilers for the entire game up through episode 5 of season 4 as well as mentions of abuse and criticisms of Caithe.)

TL;DR - Caithe’s writing is mediocre at best, but she had a lot of potential that was squandered. In my opinion.

The first major problem I have with Caithe’s story is simply the fact that the first and only wlw relationship we’re shown in game for a long time (I think 2 years? no canon major wlw relationships until the end of Season 1) is abusive. While I know Caithe as a character is great way for a lot of wlw to project and relate, it’s still not a great start.

That said, it’s because of this past abusive relationship that we get the base of Caithe’s character and the potential for growth. Caithe closes herself off from everyone and clearly has depression that’s affecting her worldview. Relationships only end in pain, friendships will get you hurt. Combine this with the secret (the Sylvari origin) she’s carrying that alienates her from her own kind and you’ve got the makings of a really dark backstory that gives plenty of potential for a story of “no matter what you’ve been through, you can learn to be happy again.”

In my opinion her involvement in the personal story is....eh. It matches the rest of the writing there. A bit flat, but overall fine with a note of hope at the end that’s pleasant. The Commander is there to bring hope to the hopeless and to beat dragon minions with their favorite stick.

Skipping to season 2, I personally think this is the only truly good season of writing for Caithe. Albeit her involvement is a bit sparse (that’s the problem with trying to juggle so many characters.) but the moments she does get are good. Caithe’s betrayal of the Commander by stealing the egg was honestly one of my favorite moments of her writing. I was genuinely upset with her.

But this leads us to more insight into how terrible Caithe’s relationship with Faolain was and just how devoted Caithe can be to those she loves as well as how abusers can use their power to make their victims do things they would normally never do. I mean Caithe helped Faolain slaughter an entire village of peaceful centaurs (never mind the incredibly racist Native American stereotypes behind the centaurs and the fact that the tribe was killed by British coded people...that’s a different analysis for a different time). It reveals just how truly heavy Caithe’s burden is while also giving us a sense of terror and realization of how fucked things are.

And then she abandons us to fight the Shadow of the Dragon all by ourselves (a particularly hurtful callback to a Sylvari commander).

In Heart of Thorns her writing is...up and down. Finally finding her and having the egg choose us over her is...a moment I’m conflicted on. Yet another moment of the Commander overshadowing her. But it also gives her more justification to close herself off further.

I would have liked more emotional talk from Caithe to vinetooth Faolain, but I understand why they didn’t do that. Caithe is, at the end of the day, extremely goal oriented. Worrying about her feelings while Mordremoth still lives is simply not something she can do.

Season 3 marks the starts of my real problems with Caithe and her writing. The base game through HoT sets us up with the understanding that Caithe has a one track mind. Whatever her current goal is, that’s the only thing she sees. Blinders on, all there is forward. It’s a good character trait that can be both a good quality and a serious flaw.

But the thing anet seems to forget is that once the blinders come off, Caithe can see the mess around her.

Her eldest brother is dead, as well as her friend and her ex lover. And at least part of it was her own doing. Not only did Caithe steal the egg and constantly distract the Commander from their goal of saving Dragon’s Watch and Trahearne, but Caithe knew that the Sylvari were Mordremoth’s minions and told nobody. Imagine if Caithe had revealed this to Trahearne. Imagine if the Pact had been more cautious entering the fray, uncertain what may happen when the Sylvari get close to the dragon that should be controlling them. Things could have been wildly different.

Instead there is no reflection. There’s no moment where you find Caithe just outside of Eir’s place, grieving and trying to process all her emotions. There’s no chance for the Commander to truly be upset with Caithe.

I certainly don’t count the forgiveness Caithe tried to force out of us in the middle of battle as proper anger or emotional processing for either of them. Why can’t I be mad that Caithe didn’t tell anybody the truth? Why can’t Caithe have a moment where she finally talks about her present emotions and has personal growth? Why must her character be so stagnant?

She literally ends her scene with a moment of self pity, proving she’s learned nothing this entire time.

I have no problems with her part in the egg chamber. Aurene is her new Wyld Hunt and she wants to prove to the Commander that she wants to help. Even if the Commander knows better than to trust her anymore.

And now we have to hop allllll the way to season 4 episode 4 to talk about Caithe again. Cause apparently Anet isn’t sexist for not including their women characters, but fans are sexist for not liking them.

Caithe appears at the end of A Star to Guide Us, revealing with a comment that she’s been around for a lot longer than she’s given on but didn’t feel compelled to help us or defend/comfort Aurene. In fact, she has yet another moment of self pity. Telling us that she felt like Aurene didn’t need her anymore cause she flew to Elona to try and save us from death instead of sitting in the egg chamber with Caithe. Cause that’s what I want from the adoptive mother of my child (who’s Wyld Hunt is literally to protect said child), abandonment at the first sign of independence. Not bothering to help save said child from death but then looking for pity and sympathy from the parent who literally died for Aurene.

All or Nothing has one moment that bothers me in particular regarding Caithe. Her branding. While I don’t see anything wrong with the act itself, it was honestly quite touching, I think it was handled poorly and completely erases the Commander’s connection to Aurene. The Commander has had a link to Aurene since she was an egg. That’s YEARS for the bond to grow between them. In A Bug In The System Aurene literally lets us see through her eyes. In Season 3 she’s shown to be following us around while we save the day. There’s an entire mastery line dedicated to our bond with her.

But instead Caithe gets everything. The psychic bond, the new look, all of the story attention. She’s even shown to be one of the only one who cares about Aurene’s feelings (Taimi being the other) even above the Commander.

And the whole reason they do this is so they can finally move Caithe’s character along. Because she’s never once in the writing allowed to grow or learn from her experience. The only way Caithe is allowed to have a happy ending is if someone else fixes her problems and fills the pain up with purpose once again.

That isn’t good writing.

Caithe never once in her entire story arc grows on her own. She’s never allowed to get better or to see more to life unless it’s handed to her on a crystal platter.

Does this mean that I hate her? No. Does it mean that I dislike her writing? Oh yeah. Caithe is repeatedly forced back into her personality from the base game and not allowed to develop in any way unless someone else makes her. That’s infuriating. Where is my story about someone leaving an abusive relationship, trying to make up for the mistakes they made when they were younger, and learning to find happiness in the people around her on the way?

I see why people love her. I see why wlw care about her so much. But to say that her writing is perfect is a lie and shows that you’re projecting your own fanon onto her to fill in the gaps.

You can still love a character while admitting the flaws both in them and their writing.

2019 Creative Review

i got tagged by @xennariel to do this thingy but i was away and didn’t dare to try it on my phone SO here it is a little late

i actually did a fair amount this past year. most importantly tho I’ve finally begun posting stuff in a more accessible place, my ao3, this year.

Allllll of my Tabenon stuff only started in the Spring but has kinda become my main project. The thing on my ao3 is over 33k and growing, and that’s just the main story, not counting the loads of drabbles and minifics I wrote in the same world. I have a lonely planet guide to the world stashed in my google drive plus character bios and a bunch of notes and doodles. Also the only OCs I’ve gotten art of and I just adore it. Got another piece coming and couldn’t be happier.

Started writing Warframe fanfiction this year too. Much lower raw word count than my other projects, but @ivararararara and I have written dozens of little things that we bounce off each other and I love every moment of it. I really like how my characters and their experience in the Origin System is coming together even if the main story is pretty stalled out.

The Soldier’s Myriad kinda stopped being my Main Thing this year since i got so wrapped up in A Typical Adventure, but I did still work on it a little bit. Finished the second chapter and have chipped away at a few others, but yeah the primary project has kinda been sidebar’d.

OC-tober was a fun challenge, though I missed several days for one reason or another. It honestly was really refreshing and helpful to just write lil things with a simple prompt, help get ideas down, get them creative juices flowing. A lot of character and world building happened as i was turning ideas over in my head writing thru the month.

ALSO, not english writing, really but I have written a couple desktop programs I use in my Warframe writing. One transliterates English into Corpus, the other into Grineer. I am delighted with how they turned out and love writing bits of my stories’ dialogue in the actual language of the "bad guys” in the Origin System.

I’m nowhere near where I want to be or where I know I could be, but I’m still content and fuzzy with all I’ve done, in spite my hectic ever-changing schedule and mental health issues. I have a lot in the pipeline, as well as a strong desire to learn 3D modeling and animating which will roll into learning to make games in Unity. I really wanna model my OCs and get a 3D printer to make minis of them. We’ll see, lots of Wants for this coming year.

Rules: Answer 10 questions, write 10 questions, and tag 10 people

1. Do you name your characters with nicknames in mind, or prefer to call them by whole name only? OR what’s your wackiest/coolest character name to date?

100% I always think about possible nicknames when I pick character names. As someone who lives now by what was once a nickname I think names given by those who come into your life can have a pretty big impact. Especially, if the character felt like they didn’t have a place that they belonged before.

2. Do you talk about your WIP to others or prefer to keep it close to the chest?

It kinda depends, I think I mostly keep things to myself unless it is someone that I have specifically decided that they will be my sounding board for this story. Or if I am talking about the story to someone who I know will never read it. Then I will spoil them all day. because I am talking to them about story crafting and not just this work in particular.

I don’t like to talk about something that is coming up with people who might read it because I want to know what they think of the actual story as it presents itself, that way I know if it is working.

3. What’s something you’ve learned during your growth as a writer?

Oh man, a lot of things. Like personal ways of thinking about things and like stylistic things. And of course true to writing I can’t think of anyone thing in particular now.

I think something with my recent edits to KH that I kind of learned/evolved in is letting the audience fill in the gaps. When I did my re-read & edits there were times where I realized I was hinting at how things were going and then I would just flat out say them and I realized that the second part was probably redundant so I cleaned a lot of things up so that there are more things for the audience to piece together but that it is still clear what is going on.

The other BIG thing I tried to evolve with is giving the characters agency even if it means I don’t get the ‘moment’ or trope that I wanted. Especially because often I found that if I let them act things ended up falling into place just not in the way I had originally forced it to.

4. What’s your average number of characters in your works? Do you think you could handle more/less?

Hmm, this varies. Though in general I think of stories in terms of novels. It is really hard for me to think of a short story and that means that I have a long list of massive stories that I want to do and I can never get anything out and done. KH eneded up at about 100k words and I am happy to have others end up just as long if not longer.

5. What’s your religion system like in your WIP? Is there one?

Well one of my WIPs has a relationship with Buddhism but who knows if that story will every get done.

Religion in most of my other stuff is either not mentioned or it is a tool and belief system of various secondary characters.

6. How do you balance your writing with daily life?

I can’t and I really need to find a way to do so because I really miss writing and desperately need to get back into it.

7. Are there any stories behind any of your characters, creation wise or other?

Uh, depends on the story.

For KH obviously the main characters are based on the series characters, so for that I will talk about the two main original characters.

Yuuki Oshiro- he is the bad kind of ‘soft boy’ he has been sort of dismissed by his family and kept quiet about it. But when he finally finds the strength to do something for himself he goes about it in allllll the wrong ways. He expects the world to pay him back for all the poor treatment he has received and he doesn’t think of others in pursuit of this expectation.

Fun Fact: Since it might not have been obvious in the book, Mai’s is not the first body Yuuki tries to steal for Eloise. He actually got his feet wet in the body stealing game by trying to have Eloise possess his brother’s wife. :/ (there is a whole world of issues wrapped up in there) And it was his and Eloise’s attack on her that leads his brother to call on SPR.

Jack Murphy- He’s an actual narcissist; self-important, lacks any sort of empathy, fantasies about power, has a MASSIVE sense of entitlement, has a history of exploiting others for personal gain, and as most of you know he is directly based on my old boss. He’s a real piece of work and some of the worst things he says are basically things I got to hear IRL. One positive of working with that thing. Good story fodder.

8. What’s your setting like in three words or less.

Uh, I guess I will do this for the story I am supposed to be working on ATM

Wet, salty, hot (ewww, I don’t really like it when I say it like this)

9. How many different colors/shades are you currently utilizing in your WIP? Do you use color for any specific reason (emotion, tone, etc)?

oh color, Well in this story blue will be a thing I think for sure. Turquoise blue, like a coral pink, and maybe gold. Hmmm. I find that color tends to come for me as I am writing and then I will end up seeing a pattern emerging that I can end up leaning into as I move forward or go back and edit.

10. Do you gain inspiration from any source outside of writing (video games, rp, real life, dreams, etc)?

Sure, I think about everything in terms of story telling. When I over did it at the gym last week and had to lay on the floor trying not to puke or pass out. I tried to think about how to describe how this felt and how my trainer was acting as she worried over me and my reactions to her. ( I wish I had a video of it to know what it looked like) But I totally was thinking about how I want all of this information for a scene where someone has fought hard against something but eventually they are reaching their limit and their body just turns against them and they can’t anymore. I also thought about how much that experience exhausted me for the rest of the day and how it was effecting me hours and even a day or two later.

I have thought about wiring out the stories that I started when I did TTRPG with my friends. We all got too busy and stopped playing all of our various games at this point but I love a number of the stories that we started with and the variety of characters we had and since we stopped I think about just continuing things but... I don’t have the time. Need to work on the stuff I have.

These two long rants are to say yes. Inspiration from almost everywhere.

There’s going to be repetitions. When you live in an underground cave with the same people, you’re going to have repetitive answers.

PERSON THEY CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: There was definitely a point where a tiny, fairly dependant Ko would’ve said Orochimaru. But then Orochimaru died and she continued to live. So I don’t think anyone would really fit this answer.

PERSON WHO NEVER FAILS TO MAKE THEM SMILE: Mitsuki. He’s such a good, we don’t deserve him. And yeah, have they gotten on each others nerves before? Sure. Of course. Siblings (and sibling like relationships, in this case) definitely have that happen, but she’s always glad to see him.

PERSON THEY FEEL SAFE TO BE VULNERABLE AROUND: Oro for sure, Mitsuki, she’s still pretty chill with Kiba back in Konoha and wouldn’t be bothered being vulnerable around him. In a verse that used to be my default (but the person it partnered with stopped rping rip so I changed it) Ko was taken in as a kid by Kakashi (the friend of mine) so he’d definitely be on that list in that regard.

PERSON THEY WANT TO SPEND THEIR LIFE WITH: I’m going to be writing Orochimaru and Mitsuki a loooooot. I’ll shorten it to the snake fam.

PERSON THEY FEEL THEY NEED TO PROTECT: Ko has an entire period once Mitsuki leaves for school of ‘he’s on his own what if the other kids aren’t nice to him’ that is directly based on her own experience. And of course Konoha has changed, since they accepted Mitsuki in the first place, but Ko can be paranoid and ends up getting a place there to kinda watch over him. But he’s super strong and can take care of himself in most cases and she has to come to terms with that.

PERSON THEY ARE AFRAID TO BE REJECTED BY: Hi if you guessed ‘probably Orochimaru’ you’d be correct! Going back to ‘smol dependant Ko’ being tossed back out was 100% something that gave her anxiety. But said anxiety fueled a desire to work harder, but she was in a ‘I have literally nowhere else to go’ situation. So that idea scared her.

PERSON THEY’D TAKE SHIT FROM AND NOT MIND: The whole snake fam, even including Suigetsu and karin and Juugo are allllll plenty sassy. It’s a family trait. But it’s one you get used to.

PERSON THEY WOULDN’T HESITATE TO KILL: Could I reference the curse mark from @ibitsuhebi and say technically if controlled enough I could write anyone’s name? But uh currently? Threats to her family are something she takes pretty seriously.

PERSON THEY NEVER EXPECTED TO LIKE BUT NOW DO: Kabuto! When they first met, Ko and Kabuto’s relationship was VERY TOXIC AND JUST NOT GREAT. Like just a ‘push each others buttons as often as possible and sometimes it turns into a physical fight’ but he actually grew on her a lot and she really likes him now.

PERSON THEY FEEL BETRAYED BY: Can I just say Konoha as a group? Because listen, whether you like snake fam or not or lean more to liking the Naruto ‘good’ side, Konoha isn’t great. It’s not a great atmosphere for a kid to grow up in. Naruto had a sucky childhood because of Konoha. Ko didn’t have a great one. There are actually a decent amount of characters who didn’t because Konoha then sucked. Still might kinda suck. Idk it seems better to me in Boruto.

PERSON THEY RESPECT BUT DO NOT LIKE: Even when Ko and Kabuto had their fighty / ‘annoy each other’ thing going on, Ko still respected him. She just didn’t really like him as a person. Now I’d say probably a few of the kages would be on that list? Maybe not so much ‘don’t like’ but just ‘don’t know very well but the kage position generally means you’re super tough and that deserves respect’

PERSON THEY FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE FAILED: Hooooooo boy uh I mean when Oro died that was a tough situation of both knowing she wouldn’t have been able to do anything (because Sasuke) but also that thought of ‘would things have been different if I had been there?’ so that’s tough. Uh at one point she was searching for her family (she’s an orphan) and there weren’t any leads so she more or less gave up with a ‘well I have a new family now’ but sometimes she’s like should I have kept looking.

I was tagged by @absolutelyfullycapablemark, who is such a babe!!! I keep forgetting I’m a huge fan of hers because she’s just so easy to talk to and friendly~ lol SUKI I LOVE YOU!!

Name: Sophia, which I kinda have a love-hate relationship with cuz it’s really common and I keep getting asked if I’m Greek.

Nicknames: Sushi, Rosie, Super Sophia, and Siren! “Sushi” because I have an unhealthy love for the sushi filter on SNOW. When I was in kindergarten my allergies kept me from sleeping, and on top of always falling asleep my face was constantly flushed red, so everyone called me Rosie, and my mom still does! My dad calls me “Super Sophia” because apparently I’m really strong??? Plus he and I will beat each other up lol. “Siren” is my camp name at the camp I’ve grown up at and will be working at this summer, I got it because of my mermaid hair.

Height: I’m like 5′5″? My mom says I’m taller, but I'm pretty sure I’m not.

Orientation: I’m straight? But people keep telling me I’ve got to like girls since I’m never attracted to anyone and obVIOUSLY YOU CAN ASSUME STUFF ITS TOTALLY NOT ANNOYING AT ALLLLLL so I’m just very confused tbh

Nationality: CANADAAAAAAA unless this is referring to where your ancestors are from, then i’m dutch + french-canadian

Favorite season: Summer!!! Because even though I hate the heat and the sunburns, I associate summer with camp, water sports, adventures, and learning new things!

Favorite flower: I’mmmmmm kinda allergic WHOOPS but if I have to choose, then my Oma’s pale-peachy-pink roses and bleeding hearts!

Favorite scent: I have a really bad sense of smell. Probably pine? And I hate how coconut smells.

Favorite color(s): PURPLEEE!!! Like my hair lol. Purple, pink, blue, and specific shades of soft/bright yellow. Red is pretty cool too, though!

Favorite animal: No idea. I’m allergic to anything that doesn’t have scales or hair instead of fur. OOH GO JUST CAME ON SHUFFLE PLAY I GET TO LISTEN TO JUNEBUG’S HEAVENLY SMOOTH VOICE

Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: HOT CHOCOLATE ALL THE WAY!!! I hate tea, but I’ve been drinking a little bit of coffee lately and it’s fine if it’s not JUST coffee. 1/2 hot chocolate + 1/2 coffee is the best~ OOH CHENLE AND HAECH’S HARMONIESSS WOW TALENTED BOYS

Average sleep hours: FOR THE BETTER WORLD~ Probably like eight? I calculate what time I should go to bed at and wake up at so I get eight hours of sleep. Unless I’m staying up to talk to someone or sleeping in on weekends, it’s always exactly eight hours.

Dog or cat person: DOGS ALL THE WAY!! I’m like reallllyyyyy allergic to cats, I can’t breathe around them and my face swells and my eyes water and it’s NASTY I HATE IT AND TBH I HATE CATS TOO

Favorite fictional character: I haven’t read a lot of well-known stuff in a while, but probably Mark Green? Cuz his older-brother-like relationship with Beth and Jimmy is FANTASTIC! Plus he’s really inspiring and I’ve learned a lot from all the crAP HE HAS TO GO THROUGH LEAVE THE POOR GUY ALONE OK! But that’s from Terri Blackstock’s Night Light series, which I actually reallllyyyy want to recommend to NCT’s Mark if I ever get the chance!

Number of blankets you sleep with: One. Dassit. But I heat up a lot at night and my sheets are ridiculously warm already.

Dream trip: I go on vacation a lot, so there’s nowhere I’d like to go myself. But my little sister wants to go to Korea with me probably because my Korean’s getting kinda decent and she needs me for that tbh so I’d love to go travelling with her when we’re older!

Blog created: I have no idea. Like a year ago ish? Maybe a little longer. I wasn’t really consistently active for a while though, so I actually have NO FREAKIN CLUE when this blog started.

Number of followers: Twenty five. Not that impressive lol

Random fact: I want to get a labret piercing once I’m in college so I can put a pretty ring around my bottom lip~ But my parents will KILL ME SO I’m waiting till I’m living three hours away and legal and they can’t stop me HAHAHAHAHA!!

FFXV Favorite Meme

tagged by @katkitoshi (I’m usually so indecisive about picking favorites for anything, so its going to be interesting to see how this turns out. xD)

To celebrate a year of FFXV and the end of the first year of updates, let’s spread the FFXV love! I haven’t seen a tag meme like this for FFXV yet, so I decided to make one. If you see this and want to, copy/paste this list and share what your favorite things about FFXV are.

Favorite Chocobro: Prompto!! (Shocker, I know… xD)

Favorite Guest Party Member (including Ravus and Libertus from DLC): Hmmm… this is a bit of a tricky one. I liked a lot of the guest party members, but I have to say that Cor was pretty fun, because he just kept complementing Prom on his fighting skills. It was frankly, super adorable.

Favorite Minor Character(s): I would have loved to see a lot more of Regis in the game tbh. The whole game is basically based around the idea of the endless love that Regis has for his son, and the fact that he was essentially willing to sacrifice his kingdom just to keep Noctis safe (despite you know the whole stupid prophecy bs... *sigh*) So yeah, I’d probably have to go with Regis, even though he’s only in the game for all of like five minutes.

Favorite Villain: Although I felt like there were some pretty good villains, no-one quite sticks out in my mind like our favorite trash jesus, Ardyn. xD Honestly though, he’s just such a compelling and interesting villain. The lengths of which he goes to in order to carry out his plans, and the fact that he is able to manipulate each situation to perfectly suit his needs without fail, and without those closest to him becoming suspicious of his true intentions… its impressive as hell.

Favorite Kingsglaive Character: Definitely going to have to go with Nyx on this one. I was still pretty new to the fandom when I first saw Kingsglaive, so I feel like I wasn’t able to really appreciate the awesomeness that is Nyx at first; but I steadily have actually become quite the Nyx fan recently. Nyx deserved so much better...! T.T

Favorite Astral/Divine Being: Hmmm… yeah, all of the Astrals are pretty much dicks, but the fights against Leviathan and Ifrit were super fun, so one of them I guess?

Favorite Character Overall: To absolutely no-one’s surprise… Prompto!!! :D I could literally go on and on about all the reasons I adore the precious choco-boy, but I would have to say that one of the reasons that I like him so much is because I relate to him so well. I know what its like to be ‘that weird kid’ and while a lot of times I’m super peppy and happy around my friends, there is definitely a big part of me that feels like I’m not good enough in a lot of respects. But on a happier note, I also love how fiercely loyal Prompto is and the fact that he will do just about anything to protect the people that are important to him. Prompto doesn’t give up, even when things are falling apart around him, and I really admire that.

Favorite Weapon: Can’t say that I pay allllll that much attention to specific weapons, but I can say that I have gotten very accustomed to using daggers a lot. Most often I prefer to use the daggers that you get at the end of the legendary weapon quests, which boost damage at full health… Zwill Crossblades, I believe? Those are fun as hell to use.

Favorite location: Insomnia. I loved being able to run around in the WoR and just explore everywhere I possibly could. There are just so many possibilities, and even though we only get to explore a small section of the city, I just find it fascinating. I mean the entire game is basically leading you towards returning and reclaiming Insomnia, so who wouldn’t want to actually get the chance to explore all around the fabled Crown City?? I would ESPECIALLY love to have been able to explore Insomnia before it fell to Niflheim.

Favorite Quest/Questline/Hunt: The tours. I remember starting a tour completely unaware that they were even a thing and got so excited. They were like short little minigame quest-like events where you get to just chill and bond with your bros. One of my favorite parts of the game in general was being able to witness the relationships between the bros continue to grow stronger despite everything going to shit around him, so the tours were so satisfying in that respect. I particularly enjoyed Prompto almost getting Noct killed by a catoblepas, and taking super dorky pictures off the coast of Caem.

Favorite Boss: My favorite boss fight would definitely have to be the Leviathan fight. The fight itself just felt so freaking epic. Between all the action that led up to it (and after!) and the fact that you get to pretty much go god-mode with Noct, and not to mention the completely awesome and bad-ass music that plays when you’re fighting… it was just so freaking fun. So much happened, and I just couldn’t stop playing, I was so ridiculously hyped.

Favorite Monster/Monster Family/etc: Cactuar, I guess? They’re pretty adorable, though that thousand-needle attack gets real old real quick. xD

Favorite Song: Aaahhhhghghgh. Now this is a TOUGH one. There are so many tracks from the game that I just LOVE listening to. I listen to the OST so often… in fact, I’m actually listening to it right now as I’m writing out this post… xD Honestly though, I think I’m going to have to break the rule on this one and list a couple, because I just don’t think that I could possibly choose JUST ONE. My top favorites would have to be: Careening Into Danger, Wanderlust, Overworld themes and Orbital Insanity from Ep. Prompto, Battle theme from Episode Ignis & Stand By Me.

Favorite Boss Theme: Apocalypsis Noctis. This song is just SO EPIC. It pumps me up literally anytime I listen to it. <33

Favorite Non-Episode DLC/Update/Event: Assassin’s Festival DLC! Four words: Promptis cosplay date simulator. This update was SO CRAZY FUN. There were so many small things that just came together so nicely and keep me constantly entertained. I really enjoyed the story, even if it was a bit short. Though, I spent a good few hours just randomly running around the festival doing side quests and what not while in the midst of the story missions, so it definitely didn’t really seem short to me.

Favorite Episode DLC: Episode Prompto! I’ll freely admit that it was a startlingly close race between Episode Prompto and Ignis, but I think I’m going to have to give the slight edge to Episode Prompto. I LOVED the story and really enjoyed the game play. The cutscenes were super exciting, while also effectively destroying my heart with feels, but it was all just REALLY satisfying. I also loved being able to get more concrete information about Prom’s backstory. Probably the only gripe that I have with Ep. Prompto is that it literally does nothing to explain how Ardyn re-captures Prompto and how the bab ends up in Zegnautus, or what happens while he’s being held there before the bros show up to rescue him… >.>

Other Favorites of Note:

The motel scene between Noct and Prompto was no joke, probably my favorite part of the entire open-world section of the game. I also have to say that I particularly enjoyed running around Zegnautus Keep like a madman trying to rescue Prompto, and of course I was over the moon relieved/excited when I FINALLY found him. Damn you square though for not having Noct hug Prom when they found him…! The boys definitely needed to hug it out. :P I really loved how natural and real the bros acted with each other in general too. Their banter continues to give me life whenever I’m playing the game, and of course, I especially love all the random soft moments between Noct and Prompto because, well, I’m very happy down here in Promptis hell. xD
