You are like the only person I've seen call Angel Dust Anthony
There's actually a lot of thought put into it.
Angel Dust is Phencyclidine, which is theorized to be the drug Anthony overdosed to, causing his death and journey to hell, since the most popular theory surrounding his sins and death is that he was a drug addict and while in hell, signed a contract with Valentino in order to have money to purchase drugs and feed his addiction.
Also, Angel Dust is his sex worker name. It's his mix persona. It's the part of him Valentino owns. There's a theory that demons that own souls (overlords) have red eyes, demons that are owned have blank eyes, and simple sinners have yellow eyes. Husk, who is owned by Alastor, has black eyes. Valentino, who owns Angel Dust, ND probably other souls too, has red eyes. Alastor, who owns souls and is owned by someone, has black eyes with red pupils. Charlie, who doesn't own or is owned by anyone, has yellow eyes. According to Anthony, Valentino owns him only when he's at the studio, not all the time. Which is why he has one yellow eye and one back eye.
What I'm trying to get to is that Valentino doesn't own all of Anthony. He's a semi-free person. Valentino only owns Angel Dust. The acting of Angel Dust, the body of Angel Dust, the Angel Dust brand and the money it makes. But he doesn't own Anthony. By referring to him by his actual name I'm trying to remind myself and everyone who notices it the very same thing is that Anthony is trying to make sure nobody will notice: That Angel Dust is fake. It's a persona. That Anthony exists. That he's a person. A terribly tortured and abused one. Not a hypersexual freak, not a coked-up, dick-sucking hoe, not a slut, not a minx, but a person with very deep, painful, unhealed and unaddressed trauma, that is battling addiction and needs help.
All in all, "Angel Dust" as a drug, name, brand and symbol can be tied back to all the things that are wrong and torturous about Anthony's life. I feel like his choice to use that as his name and identity is an attempt to cover up hoe deeply damaged he is by it. I wouldn't be caught dead using it as a label for him. As long as Anthony exists, Valentino only owns Angel Dust and there's still hope for freedom and redemption. So you'd never see me write Anthony off as simply Angel Dust.

Mostly I hate the "Gunn's always angry" thing at the start of season 4 (beloved character suddenly reduced to racist stereotype my beloathed) but also.
Gunn spent his entire teenage years looking after younger kids, protecting them from harm, and fighting literal monsters with them. Then his sister Died and he sacrificed his connection to his whole community for the sake of five (5) new friends, of which four randomly dropped off the face of the earth, leaving him alone with his new girlfriend and the world's most troubled teen.
He had to parent Connor for a whole summer - and it had to have crossed his mind that for all Connor's problems he's getting to be ~17 in this huge hotel with two parents - all while unable to contact 4/5 of his friends and not dealing with any fewer monsters than usual.
Who the fuck would be level headed that summer?
Spending months trying to be nice to this kid who's the same age you were when you sold your soul for a truck even though he's a whole brat, because he just lost both his father figures and you know what that's like, only to learn that he Soldered One Into A Box And Dropped It In The Ocean??
And then when that all gets revealed, Connor gets kicked out onto the streets (something Gunn's been threatened with before) and then Fred not only breaks up with him but seems to choose his (ex) best friend instead, so what for a summer had been Gunn-and-Fred-and-kind-of-Connor against the world is now just. Just Gunn...
I'm just saying, Charles Gunn has every right to be as angry as he likes forever.
