I haven’t updated the list yet, but I just feel the need to say this: DO NOT TRY TO SUBMIT SHOWS THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT UNDERRATED 😭. This tournament is for UNDERRATED shows.

Although I’ve been very lenient on donghua and aeni coz they make up the minority on this site, there is no way TGCF is underrated. In fact, it’s so mainstream that even though I’m part of that fandom, I’m tired of seeing it and other MXTX works all the time because it overshadows a lot of equally good, if not better, danmei works.

It may have low stats on MAL, but it was ranked #16 among the top AniManga fandoms here on Tumblr last year. The #tian guan ci fu tag has over 160k followers, while its abbreviated form #tgcf has 29k. Meanwhile, most of the submissions I’ve received have only at most 3-5k tag followers. Seriously, who are you trying to fool???

So no, TGCF is not allowed into this tournament. And so do the other MXTX works.

Mo Dao Zu Shi (MDZS) is also one of the top Tumblr fandoms linked above, and so is The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System, which is the least popular among the MXTX works.

ok not to post about this again but its so insane i cant stop thinking about it. i read the interview ok i know what tiffany g said. she had a really good idea about creating a beginners tutorial for ao3 that would explain how to use the website and what all of the fandom terms mean (this would obviously include the beloved "fandom etiquette" that fandom people love to go on about but whatever). she wanted to work with ao3 to find a way to resolve its damning image problem. she wanted to expand the tagging system to make it more robust. she wanted to bring a fresh new perspective to the table. instead of talking about any of this ao3 voters maliciously interpreted her platform as being pro-censorship and accused her of being a spy for the chinese government even though, and i cannot stress this enough, she quite literally clarified that she did not want to ban any content. this is like when red scare conservatives make shit up about biden that make him sound ten times cooler than he actually is. her platform was not about censorship it was about making ao3 more accessable and welcoming to newcomers in fandom
