Hello! Hope you're well, was just wondering if you could help me know how GIN is pronounced in qqgk? And when yh is saying GI, what does that sound like? I suck with pronunciation but cant get into a story if idk it exactly, thank you!

Hi! I believe Gin is pronounced just like it is in English. In fact, Qin Jiu's name is pronounced similarly to the Chinese phrase for "gin alcohol" so that's why.

"Gi" is pronounced "gee" (as far as I remember from the audio drama).

So lately I've been on a quest of artistic improvement, and on that quest I've been studying styles that have the tendency to just, take my breath away and leave me with the unshakable envy that drives me forward, and that includes your great stuff!

I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain, but there's one thing in your art that's present in almost all of the ones I'm studying that I cannot for the life of me understand. The lines, or lack there of I suppose. My brain is just psychically incapable of understanding what's going on with it, because it doesn't f e e l like normal linework, and in speedpaints it's hard to see exactly what's going on. Like, I'm amazed that you can do that.

i've only posted one speedpaint recently, so i'm guessing you're talking about the ousai one, right? how's this...?

i use one brush (ciro pen @ 80% opacity) for almost everything nowadays. sometimes i just clean up a sketch, sometimes i draw a lineart layer. as you can see, it's still pretty messy...! i don't bother closing lines, and drawing with a lower opacity helps me (try to) be less stiff / quickly draw in shadows or vary line impressions. i rough colors on one layer underneath, reduce lineart opacity, and then make one layer on top to paint over it. sometimes i redraw lines, paint over, or color lines, especially for details or elements that feel like they should be merging/touching/melting into each other...

I guess so! I definitely have traits/elements that Im just way better at drawing / have more fun with drawing, and i can't always force all of them onto every character!

but to be real i don't think im ever 100% satisfied with my harper either LOL his hair horns (?) always give me trouble and i feel like i never quite capture his...salaciousness very well

Random hc i have that has 0 basis in canon but. Wanderer snorts when he genuinely laughs

He really really tries to not genuinely laugh bc of it and he usually does a sort of mock laugh to hide it, but one time nahida caught him off guard and he snort laughed around her and she thought it was genuinely cute. So while he's still embarrassed by it he feels slightly better abt his laugh now

Ok I rock with this a lot I think he has a really good genuine laugh u just never hear it bc he usually laughs sardonically. I do think it would be funny if nahida was like aw you have such a nice laugh :) because he’d just be like oh BROTHER. But I think she laughs when he does so he’s like damn this is a positive association for expressing genuine emotions I guess

Hi! I'm watching the Untamed on Netflix, and there is a scene in episode 32 - around 15 minutes in, after they unite to fight WWX and have finished pouring one out - and everyone starts shouting 'great! great! great!'? If it isn't too much trouble, do you know if the original word they are chanting has a better translation or if there's more context to the word?

Hi there!

The word they're chanting is 好 (hǎo) which can be translated as good/great/yes/okay etc. They're basically just cheering (in this case, chanting their approval/support for JGS's actions aka showing disdain for the Wens) so "great" works.

Alternatively, they could've used "yes!" or even "yeah!" although maybe this word would look too 'modern'. In fact, in modern settings, I would probably choose to use "yeah". It's pretty much the equivalent of going "woo! alright! hell yeah!"
