When depression ruins art.

Do you ever get so depressed that not even your comfort characters can help you, but on the contrary, they make you feel worse?

I'm talking about when you feel so depressed that you project your feelings on your favourite fictional characters, but you push said feelings to such an extreme that you make your comfort characters literally unlikable for the sake of expressing your mental distress to the point where you can no longer bare to think about them in the correct way, and so they become an empty shell of the complex individuals they once were as they are now just reduced to mere caricatures for you to cause them as much bad writing as possible, and yes, I am not talking about torturing them, I'm talking about giving them bad writing on purpose since it's more harmful to a character than just mere torture;

I'm talking about the worst coping mechanism possible where not only it doesn't make you feel better, but it actively drags you down and your comforts with you, in an endless spiral that just makes you feel worse, to the point where art isn't enjoyable anymore.

I know I had this problem, and ruined all of said tagged characters, so, if you have ever felt or feel this way, maybe leave a comment on this post for other people's sake or your own.

Since my all character level max traces unlocked jobs almost finished (aside I don't have Bailu and most limited 5* it only Yanqing lvl 70), I kinda looking at relics recomendation and found something interesting :

I'm pretty suprise Pela user put reduced dmg relics on her... It opened my eyes, for anyone had looked at that relics usefulness (oh don't mind me, I don't use her lately lol)

Gallagher set kinda mix to my liking, makes me troubled since I want to build him soon and here I thought everyone goes to BE 2-2 set (lol)

Ratio percentage came from almost everyone since he's free so these numbers aren't suprising since not everyone can farm Pioner set which need to unlock Penacony TB quest firsthandly so those people second choice goes to Xianzhou 2-2 set.

While doing img dmg + FU dmg sound good but it just a double job especially in the end you're not gonna use it until the end...

and by "matching," i mean characters that have something in common with each other, which is usually being in the same world... (ex: drama squad with belobog vs. penacony charas)

...or having the same gameplay path?

or being in the same faction rather than a specific world/planet (ex: astral express crew, stellaron hunters)

anyway, i didn't get screenshots of all the assignment results, but here are a few miscellaneous ones i saved. i can't figure out the connection between luocha, ratio, and aventurine (besides being imaginary-element men) so that one's a lil confusing?

okay so this is super self indulgent but preface for those who arent aware i have this whole full world for my ocs & basically its like a 50/50 chance for any given person to have psychic powers called abilities & this ability is entirely dependent on the person themself & has nothing to do with genetics. ur either born with them or u can get them if ur from a different world & are isekai'd in. the only real thing about abilities is it has to be something a person can do with their mind/state of mind & isnt just like some super power like super strength.

anyway i realized this week i feel like i know the isotopes well enough so i ended up spending a lot of time thinking of what abilities they would have and i give u all my final decisions!!!

Kafu: she has something im going to call window creation. basically the ability to call forth 'windows' which ranges from just invisible walls in the air to creating a pane that lets her (or anyone near by to see it) see into a different place, time, or both. these are in effect solid walls/windows so its theoretically possible to use them as a weapon but given how kafu is i doubt she would think that way & instead would take a more defensive route, using them as a sort of force field or to get info the group otherwise wouldn't know

Sekai: i'm calling hers shadow manipulation. she can take control of shadows in the area and turn them into a semi-physical thing & from there pretty much becomes a distance attacker or defender depending on both her mood & what's necessary. i would like to think she also keeps a little shadow as a pet & it just follows her around or sits on her shoulder. the shadows can change shape btw

Rime: pyromancy. she gets to create & control fire at will. i like to think she puts too much pressure on herself to learn it & ends up unable to do it at first because of that but the second she lets herself breathe she finally gets it & from there puts in so much practice that her style with it ends up absolutely beautiful to watch. default flame color is red bc thats her color but it changes color/temperature with her emotions. u threaten one of the others and watch how fast it ends up blue-white.

Coko: fox. by shifting her mental state she can transform into a fox & while in that form can do things like create wil o wisp/fox fire & force fields, but mostly i think she'd specialize in creating illusions. she probably actually has multiple tails in that form but after drawing the rest of her outfit i thought one was enough to get the idea across. yes this is the third time im giving a chara this ability its bc im not allergic to fun normally people cant talk in the fox form but i like her so i guess she gets a little telepathy as a treat too.

Haru: consciousness walking. that is, she can separate her consciousness from her physical body & move around almost like a ghost. she can interact with the physical world on a minimal level in this state, but more importantly it allows her to see & interact with other people's consciousnesses in a way that's very easy to mess with their perception of the world & throw off their judgment & things like that. kind of like astral projection but not really, also if she gets really skilled with it she'd be able to move both her physical & spiritual forms at once although that is very tiring

And now, let me finally introduce you my fanverse AU based on Alphatale, jdyj!alphatale! It's not canon to the original story, pay attention! You can follow only if you are interested in this fanverse!

Original Alphatale by Shadikal15 & @nytethelad

• William Peterson, aka "Bluetooth" - the youngest son in the Gaster family. He loves computers and is a reliable technician. He hates being called Sans. The character is impudent, confident, but lazy (becomes an introvert over time). Was in a relationship with Chara.

Requiem: Error404

• Adam Peterson, aka "Alpha" - William's older twin brother. He was created in the form and likeness of Sans. Unlike the younger one, he is immersed in workaholism and cannot live without a cup of coffee. The character is soft, whiny, trusting. A believer, which is why he does not accept the marriage between monsters and people as the normal thing.

Requiem: Mirage

• Jacob Riverperson, nicknamed "Great Martyr" - Mother's guinea pig suffering because of his contagious requiem. He was exiled to quarantine with increased conditions of detention, but was able to get out. The character is vindictive, manic. IT WANTS TO EAT.

Requiem: Infected

• Ares Riverperson, nicknamed "Sage" - one of the first sons in the Gaster family, older than the other three. During this time, he learned to control his requiem and was able to save himself from further experiments of the Mother. He knows about all her intentions and tries to remotely help the brothers avoid a difficult fate. The character is restrained, strict, prudent. Don't take your eyes off his third eye.

Requiem: Omnipotent

• Wendy Ding Gaster, she is the Astral Mother. The main antagonist of the story and the reincarnation of the Void formed by Her marriage to W.D. Gaster. For the sake of experiments on the creation of ideal requiems, she is ready for anything, even if it concerns international politics. The character is cunning, playful, cold. She was married to members of the Dukedom of the Riverperson and Peterson families, and is now a widow.

Notes:

• In this version, Infected and Omni are Gasters, not Sans like in the canon.

• Everyone in the Gaster family is a sapphire skeleton, so in order to avoid hunting them, a disguise in the form of ordinary skeletons was created. Because of this material, their bodies without the power of the void are very fragile.

• Infected - the most dangerous of the brothers, while Ares - the strongest.

• The evolution of the powers of requiems is not infinite and has the properties of changeability, which is why there are significant restrictions on the powers in comparison with the original.

• No one, except Mother and Ares, knows about the existence of the first son - Samson. [Information deleted]

my oc, cricin, is an elf lady that spent her entire life in a tower, raised and supervised by an animated skeleton she thinks of as her mother. she is lowkey inspired by rapunzel except combined with my never ending love for necromancy

anyway, the tower belongs to a Very Very Very old master necromancer and great mage in general. she is obsessed with power AND beauty, so she keeps herself alive, beautiful and powerful by taking over bodies of young elven ladies. so, the tower pretends to be a small school, and she kidnaps infant elven ladies to raise them into perfect vessels. they all get a magic circle engraved in their body that ensures no matter how they look like, they will grow up looking exactly like the necromancer lady. but! in her original first life before she got committed to black magic and stuff, she was a tallman, not an elf. so thats why all her vessels have black hair even though its not an elf thing. its the magic!!!!!

(lady necromancer decided to use elves for her body farm since the vessels are long lived so she doesnt have to keep an eye on too many at a time, lol)

anyway, cricin is one of the vessels and she finds out about the whole plot at one point and decides to get help so someone saves all the girls and defeats the necromancer. to do so, she uses some kind of astral projection/soul splitting magic that causes her to be able to leave the tower and venture into the world as like... a ghost but with more substance and magic?

theres a lot of more plot because ive had many no mithrun Thursdays to contemplate, but the tl dr is that she forms a party with a couple of canon dunmeshi charas to conquer the tower and defeat the evil lord questline go on and learn about people and the world shes never heard of before. after everything is settled and cricin has both her body and freedom, she decides to travel some to experience the world with her own senses, and managed to convince mithrun to go with her. cue the romance storyline. happily ever after or something, i believe in them

Some info dump for HSR Isekai au

First, meta notes:

- The Novel is not HI3, it is a generic fantasy story with honkai characters inserted throughout (GENERALLY star rail charas/vers prioritized)

- I didn't make the au to ship, but if you get inspired and want to ship then who am I to stop you

- AU Joachim is a normal ass man. His original earth is basically the same boring one we live on

- Yeah that's Kiana. DWAI.

- this is just a stupid funny haha what-if scenario that I came up with, might continue, might drop

Now onto some lore notes:

- The "Welt" that dies is Welt Joyce. Joachim isekais into the novel in Welt Joyce's role, but he is Welt Yang (a.k.a. the world is not a 1:1 recreation of the novel)

- The World is primarily based off of HSR, meaning most locations are based off of HSR, Schicksal kingdom being the big exception because... Well, we haven't seen it yet

- Welt Yang is part of the Astral Tower, a coalition of mercenary mages. He is a senior and mentor to March 7th, Dan Heng, and Caelus/Stelle

YESSS oh i love yuma's little friend group.... i always enjoy the way ygo shapes its protags' little friend circles and when it actually shows them interacting and enjoying each other's company and The Super Secret Number Club is just like, such a wonderful circle of pals.

Flip is my favorite I think...I'm especially fond of ygo characters who are just little FUCKERS and I love that he's consistently still a little bit of a buttmunch (but with SO much love in his heart.....the fact he went through the effort of making Astral a memorial is like ;___; holy SHIT!!!) They keep like,, pairing him off to the side with Caswell and it's like??? are. are they dating. good for them!!! Caswell is so funny I love that they just stuck a little student council dweeb in this group and they like him so much. He looks like a shiny Ralts.

But it's splitting hairs with picking favorites, I like all of them a lot. I didn't think I was gonna be too invested in Tori but I've ended up REALLY liking her, she might be my favorite ygo main gal by the end of all this, we'll see. She's just so earnestly kind and wants to be there for Yuma while The Horrors keep happening to him...it's so sweet. Didn't think I was gonna like Cathy too much either (i dont. really like catgirls very much lol) but she's such a fun character and a perfect middle schooler weirdgirl I ended up loving her. I KNOW she's making insane warrior cats animations. Zexal isn't spectacular at letting its girl characters actually duel, but it is pretty cool Yuma's main friend group has THREE (!!) girls in it and they're all such fun characters...I really like Rio too.

(also i love Shark. he's not technically in the club officially but you KNOW yuma considers him part of the friend group so. must mention him)

Literally the only reason I'd known Bronk exists and was in this show is because he's in Duel Links; I have never seen fanart of him before this (wow i wonder why 🙄) and it's a FUCKING SHAME!!!! He's a cool fat SKATEBOARDER and he CARES ABOUT YUMA SO MUCH they are BEST FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRONK MY MAN BRONK....

haha. and who could forget. ray shadows :) the only character in yuma's friend group that i have a shirt of! wow!! ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

They're all just an absolutely Peak middle school friend group to me, I love that they're all weirdos and half of them are only here because Yuma beat them in a duel and they just liked him that much they decided to stay. THIS is what Yugioh's all about babeyyy!!! I want to draw these kids' in actual 2012-era middle schooler fashion so bad.

1. Gregory R: A 11 year old boy and the main protagonist of the au story. Gregory has lost all his memories due to a forgotten incident and now he finds himself wandering the town until he finds the pizzaplex, their he encounters vanny for the first time but evades her, soon after he is found and becomes close friends with the pizzaplex’s star mascot glamrock Freddy fazbear and noobie security guard Vanessa Arrington, but things don’t stay peaceful as Gregory and his friends discover that the pizzaplex is being taken over by a group of unknown individuals and now Gregory, Vanessa and Freddy has to survive 10 nights at Freddy fazbear’s mega pizzaplex. Species: cyborg/hybrid/reborn soul. Soul: Joseph afton (the name of crying child in my au). Date of birth: October - 14th - 20xx. Sexuality: heterosexual. Appearance: his appearance is similar to his game counterpart, he’s a little taller and he’s fit but not super muscular, he sometimes wears a dark blue jacket. Personality: Gregory keeps most of his personality from his game counterpart, he’s curious, intelligent, watchful, vigilant, stubborn, friendly, somewhat irritable, helpful, fun loving, energetic, creative, in this au he’s more compassionate and selfless and somewhat insecure. Before working as a security guard Vanessa worked as a creative designer and sometimes beta tester for silver parasol, after her coworkers began having strange behaviors she was tasked with beta testing a new vr game but little do she know that this game housed a digital anomaly called glitchtrap who attempted to infect her mind but surprisingly this didn’t work, but she soon found herself being the target of another digital anomaly named vanny who possessed her in order to steal her life and identity, soon vanny transferred to the fazbear Funtime service but Vanessa still retained control of herself but had forgotten vanny and was transferred to the pizzaplex. Species: peak human/reborn soul. Soul: Elizabeth afton. Date of birth: September - 17th - 20xx. Sexuality: pansexual. Appearance: Vanessa keeps most of her features from her game counterpart, she’s slightly taller and fit but not super muscular, her hair is slightly longer and has the rainbow hair extensions. Personality: this version of Vanessa is a lot different from her game counterpart, she’s intelligent, creative, passionate, kind hearted, responsible, stubborn, sassy, sarcastic, but she can be a bit insecure and anxious. Fun fact: her middle name in this au is Eleanor. Powers: peak human condition, maximum brain capacity/100% brainpower usage, telepathy. Skills: genius level intelligence, raw cunning, strategic planning, adept learning, intuition, bravery, leadership, pretending, coordination, multitasking, emotional support, creativity, craftsmanship, resourcefulness, arts and crafts expertise, engineering/inventing expertise, cooking expertise. Likes: family/friends, arts and crafts, engineering/inventing, creativity, nature, outdoor activities, tennis, swimming, exercise/yoga, reading/writing/drawing, money, music, singing/dancing, fashion, collecting cute accessories/trinkets, ice cream, frozen yogurt, milkshakes, margarita pizza, chicken and rice in white sauce, rollerblading, claw machine games, circus’s/carnivals, balloon’s, rabbits, children/babies. 3. Glamrock Freddy Fazbear: A animatronic bear and the 3rd main protagonist of the au story. Freddy is the star attraction of Freddy fazbear’s mega pizzaplex and head mascot of fazbear entertainment, Freddy and the glamrocks were invented by a brilliant engineer many years ago and have been performing for a very long time, however Freddy much like past incarnations of him isn’t just some ordinary advance ai and he seems to know this himself as well. Species: animatronic bear/reborn soul. Soul: Michael afton. Date of creation: unknown - unknown - 20xx (early). Appearance: Freddy’s appearance is simile to his game counterpart with some changes, he now has a orange sphere tail in the back of him and has red painted pants either a star buckle, the inside of his stomach hatch has been made bigger and more safe, Freddy is slightly bigger as well and now even has a added big tuft of hair stylized like his fury’s rage counterpart (except without the back hair part), it’s also stylized in the way from his uniqueswann (instagram/twitter) counterpart. Personality: Freddy’s personality is changed quite a bit from his game counterpart, he’s much more human, he’s responsible, diligent, stubborn, friendly, laid back, sarcastic, helpful, much more serious and mature, he still shows he’s happy go lucky and fun loving side to everyone but he’s mainly pretty chill, he’s also quite protective of both Gregory and Vanessa. Fun fact: this Freddy secretly has a crush on Roxanne (and vice versa). Powers/features: animatronic physiology (strength/speed/agility/durability/immense resilience/scanner-reader/advance AI/inbuilt e-manual/caretaker database-programming), coding/hacking, electronic network access/control, speaker/music box, finger lighter, stomach hatch/chest compartment, machine claw, body part detachment/reattachment, electricity immunity/control, spiritual awareness, ghost haunting. twirls hair hiii you should give me a list of your trolls with fun and funky psionics. are there any who struggle to control their abilities? re there any that run the risk of harming (or even killing) people if they arent careful?

umm ummm!!!

i only realized this bc of this ask but none of my characters psionics are actually too volatile?? like, even the ones who dont have great control over them, theyre not gonna harm or kill anyone by accident, probably. :,) but here r some of my fav powers on this blog <3

rilakk - astral projection!!! every time they sleep (or become unconscious) they astral project! they had to practice for a while before they were completely lucid and could control it but now theyre comfortable enough doing it to spend most of their time in that form

ionyll - ok so io has a bunch of dark magic abilities (not psionics) but my favorite is her eye!!! she can see out of it wherever its drawn so long as she is aware of its presence.

lauren - he can see and modify thoughts after making eye contact with the person in question. his power additionally manifests with sound; words that are spoken appear in front of him

fledge - so hers are kinda neat cuz she can actually █████ ████████████ ██████. it started out with a sensitivity to it and ███████ ██████ but bc of al█████ ████████████ she can ██ █████ █████ ████ like she can ████ █████████ and ██████████ ███ and shit she will █████████ ██████████ your ass and ████ ███ █████ ██

Iggy, Palaia, Alaise, and Button also have abilities! Gazijo and a couple other charas i plan to introduce uhhh soonish maybe also have some neat abilities but none of them are too dangerous either. at least not without intention.

additionally some of my characters have abilities even they dont know about and/or i havent revealed (and those would be the ones who have trouble controlling them), so i encourage people to bother everyone about stuff <:D
