Detailed Ranking of the Carrie Movies

Carrie herself-

Number one spot goes to Sissy Spacek. This is really no contest this is what acting is about. I love all the little details in Sissy's performance. How she tries to disappear into her clothes, hide behind her hair and even how she wraps herself up in her shawl at the prom. It's fantastic.

Chloe Grace Moretz- I never fully buy Chloe in the role. She does fine but I feel like her performance and the film itself could have pushed further. That said I felt like I bought the mother/daughter bond between her and Margaret most, warped as it is.

Angela Bettis- I love Angela Bettis but she never really works as Carrie for me. Some aspects of her performance feel over done and I never find myself buying her as a teenager. Though I do like some of her mannerisms like the way she twists her hair. Just go watch May

Margaret

This is a weird one because it's like ranking apples and oranges. Piper Laurie's performance suits the disco fairy tale vibe of the 76 film but I never buy her as a human being and don't think I'm meant too. Juliane Moore feels like someone suffering from genuine mental illness who loves her daughter in her own twisted way except for those few scenes where the movie needs to up its gross-o-meter. Patricia Clarkson does the best job of balancing those two extremes though given the flaws in the 2002 film she's not a clear favorite to me.

Coach Desjardin

Betty Buckley and Judy Greer- This is such an easy tie. Buckley's Desjardin feels like someone who became a teacher because they want to reach the weird kids but feels human enough to struggle with it. While Greer who usually just gets bit parts gets to really shine in this.

Rena Sofer- I do not care for Rena's Desjardin she feels genuinely mean-spirited with her ten-year reunion speech and I don't care for it. I sorta get what they're going for but it makes her come across as a genuinely terrible teacher.

Sue Snell

PLOT TWIST- Its actually Kandyse McClure in the 2002 film as she feels like the most fleshed out and genuine of the Sues. I also like that she actually approaches Carrie herself at a few points. And I'm kinda into the Snow White imagery when she rescues Carrie from the tub.

Another case of apples and oranges Amy Irving's Sue fits the film and feels like a very genuine fairy godmother-esque figure whereas Gabrielle Wilde's is more ambiguous and feels more like a dumb teenager who hasn't thought through her actions. Like genuinely what does she expect to have happen after prom?

Tommy Ross

Like Sissy's Carrie this goes so easily to William Katt's Tommy it's not even funny. I love how Katt's Tommy will get genuinely pissed off. He's mad at the teacher and calls everyone out for the pig's blood stunt before he dies. I also genuinely want to know how things would have turned out after the prom if the pig blood stunt didn't happen because?????? He seems very genuinely into Carrie?????? I'm also soft touch for Katt in general I think he's a fine actor.

Tobias Mehler is essentially a non-entity as Tommy but I do like that he's clearer about his intentions and that Sue is setting them up which makes him feel the most mature of the Tommys.

Look I want to be fair to Elgort No I don't he makes sense sorta as a dumb teenager who hasn't thought things out. But he also feels super flat as just a generic 'good boy' there's none of the genuine anger Katt brings to it that balances the character out.

Chris Hargensen/ Billy Nolan

This is another case of apples and oranges. Portia Doubleday and Alex Russell feel more familiar in the sense they vaguely remind me of people I went to high school with but idk if they have any more depth to them than the 76 film or the 2002 version. The 76 film at least leans into the flat characterization because it knows what it's about and every fairy tale needs it's baddie.

atsushi would be a cryo claymore that scales off atk (since the tiger is shown as extremely powerful and can even cut through space) and optimizes physical dmg

dazai would be a geo sword support that increases elemental res, acting as a debuffer (as no longer human works in the bsd universe) he would also scale off em

kunikida would also be geo but catalyst that deals physical aoe dmg.. he'd be an in-slot dps but not an optimal one imao his talents are much better suited to make him a battery unit

akutagawa would be pyro polearm?? or sword?? and he's obviously a heavy dps that scales off crit rate/dmg and tenma tengai could be similar to cyno's burst when, once activated, increases def while simultaneously raising rashomon's atk

chuuya would be an anemo catalyst dps similar to wanderer bc of his gravity manipulation and he would have a melee stance where he atks from the ground and an elevated state where he uses gravity manipulation to be able to atk off-ground. his ult would be corruption obviously and would parallel xiao's where his atk and crit rate/dmg are sharply increased but he undergoes continuous dmg until the duration of his burst ends (in this state he is vulnerable as his def is lowered and he isn't able to accumulate energy meaning he needs a team built around him, preferably with a healer and a shielder)

Emily's gun had fired a loud shot, but it wasn't loud enough to cover the sound of your seared gasp.

Her one bullet had taken out the unsub, but not before he got a bullet of his own out. Only, his bullet traveled straight into your shoulder.

Her gun was still trained on his body, now being checked for a pulse by Hotch, but her eyes were trained on you.

You were clutching your shoulder, blood now oozing through your fingers, partly hunched over trying to calm your breathing.

You were used to the pain of bullets, it was nothing new to you, but that didn't make the pain any better.

"Y/n?!" Emily shouted, gaining the attention of the team.

"I'm okay! I'm okay! Let's just secure the scene and find the hostage." You stood straight once more, trying to go further into the house.

"Y/n, you've been hit! You need medical!" Morgan came up to your side.

"It's not the worst thing I've dealt with, let's go!" Everyone on the team has been shot at least a handful of times, and everyone has been abducted at least once, you can manage a shoulder hit.

"Y/l/n, wait outside for medics. That's an order." Hotch finally added.

An annoyed groan came from you but you still did as told from your superior.

You didn't wait but maybe ten minutes before two ambulances showed up, presumably one for you and one for the hostage.

Emily desperately wanted to be at your side while the ambulance took you to the hospital, but Hotch ordered her to go with the hostage to wait with her while her family arrived.

To her dismay, Emily didn't get to leave the hospital until you had already gotten a ride back to your shared townhouse.

She sped down the highway, going as fast as the car would let her. She was a federal agent, what would the state officer do even if they could pull her over?

You'd think you were barely clinging to life with the way she sped and swerved the lanes.

Truthfully, she was just concerned. She couldn't see you at the scene before you were hauled away, and then the family had to fly in from another state to see the victim. It was safe to say she was desperate to see you.

You were unsurprised to hear a car speed into the driveway. Your townhome wasn't the biggest, so you heard the tires screeching while you were in the bathroom, trying to pull off the bandage from the back of your shoulder.

Not even 10 seconds went by from the time she pulled up in the drive to the moment she was walking through the front door.

"Y/n?!" You sighed, knowing how this conversation would go. It goes the same every time one of you gets hurt.

"In here." You shouted from sitting on the vanity.

Again, not a moment passed before she was by your side.

Emily walked through the bathroom door to see you sitting on the bathroom counter, first aid supplies and wrappers all skewed around you, topless and trying to reach around to your back. To your credit, you had gotten the bandage mostly off, just some of the medical adhesive was out of your reach.

Emily could see the stitches on your shoulder, briefly looking into the mirror and seeing your exhaustion she also caught a glimpse of another bandage.

"A through and through?" Was all Emily asked, she's seen you in this situation far more times than she'd like to admit.

You merely nodded, giving into trying to take off the bloody bandage. Normally you would've left it alone, but you guessed a stitch ripped and it caused you to bleed through the bandage.

Emily wordlessly took over, you knew she would, and carefully pulled the rest of the bandage off. She paused a bit as she heard you let out a seared gasp.

"Sorry, you're good." You caught each others eyes in the mirror.

"That was stupid, Y/n," She spoke softly.

"Emily..." You groaned, you've been here before and you just wanted a clean wound so you can go to bed.

"Y/n, you knew the profile. And you still tried to reason with the guy!" Emily was annoyed but she wasn't truly surprised, you've always tried to be the voice of reason with anyone, and you've always been the one to try to keep the bullets from flying. The irony, right?

"I know, Emily! I was stupid and reckless, I've heard it before. And I'll hear it again tomorrow from Hotch when I have to write a report, just leave it. Please." This conversation was one you could recite from memory, hearing it a few times a year.

She sighed, "I know, look I'm sorry. I care about you, okay? I just want you to be more careful."

"I know you do Em, that's how I am with you too. And we both know that we both agree to be more careful until the next case comes along." Emily said nothing as she taped the clean piece of gauze onto your shoulder.

She tapped on your uninjured shoulder and you took your silent cue to turn around for her to replace the other gauze.

"You got lucky." Her tone was laced with concern and you could tell she tried to hide the little bit of impression in her face.

She was right, you managed to talk the doctors out of giving you a sling as long as you promised to take it easy. And as you said, you promise until the next case comes. Hopefully there'll be a week before the next case...

She started to say something else but you weren't paying attention to her words. You were paying attention to the way her brows furrowed with concentration as she avoided the wound while cleaning. You were focused on how she was delicate yet precise with her movements, probably from all the experience she's got.

Emily wanted to be upset with the fact that you weren't listening to her advice, but she really couldn't. It wasn't the fact that she's a broken record, telling you things you've heard hundreds of times, but the fact that you were so almost entranced by her.

Emily couldn't help but notice the look in your eye, it's the same one she has when she looks at you. How even though you were in pain, you were still mindful of her.

But that's the thing, pain or not, Emily was still the same sensitive person you fell in love with. She was your painkiller. Always there to make you feel better, regardless of the ailment.

"Thank you, Em." You said quietly as she finished up on the front piece of gauze, collecting and tossing the trash from her work and your attempt of bandaging.

"Always. I'll always be here for you." She said in the same softness you spoke in.

"You promise?" You looked her directly in those beautiful eyes.

She hesitated a bit, knowing of her past she can't guarantee anything, especially a long life with you, "I promise."

You simply smiled and rested your head on her chest. This move of yours filling her heart with the love she's always wanted, the love she never thought she deserved.

— It's an AI..So he has felt artificial love for once in his entire digutal life and their love abstracts it, well it doesn't end well. He doesn't feel guilty, because he knows it's not his fault, but if he gets too sad, he tries not to show it so that others don't worry about why it's not as chaotic as before, although sometimes his decline is noticeable.

— He won't put you in the basement, Not with the others, because he knows that you are not like the others, you are his, and his sure you remember him..At least he wants to think that you recognize him.

—He will not leave you even if you are no longer you, if now you are just a dark black mass with eyes, he still loves you and waits for the moment when he can save you from being that thing. He does everything to know that he led you to that mental void, that he needs to improve, why he doesn't want that when he saves you (he's not sure if he can do it but he want to think so) you don't fall into despair again

—The first time they told him that someone had been abstracted, he didn't care much, it wasn't like it was anything new... I don't even pay much attention to other people's words ,but he didn't expect it to be you ,so when he put the black mess in the basement and he went to look for you to see if you were okay I mean he really cares about you and couldn't wait to comfort you. After seeing that you were the one who got abstracted, He refused to cross out your door and start to panic in silence .

—He goes back to the basement and quickly knows who you are, he takes you out of that place and locks you in, but he makes it as comfortable as possible although well, you don't seem to remember him. He spends 24/7 with you, it's like an obsession that you return to your normal state, he still loves you and he's not going to stop loving you, you were the only person he ever truly loved, not even the moon.

—He still continues with his daily missions and contests, he can't let others go crazy too, he can't make the same mistake (your loss has made him afraid of being alone in the digital circus , again) Although, they are beginning to doubt his strange behavior, as if he no longer watches them as much with his millions of eyes... as if he were busy with something else

—He WILL do everything he can and has in hand to return you to your original state. he doesn't care about the others abstracts, its only you and you.

Kinger!

-It's already screwed, but now much more. He lost two partners, so when you were normal, he was already dedicated to taking care of you as if you were a butterfly in a cocoon. He unburdened himself with you, he told you his closest sorrows and fears. So what he was wondering is, why didn't you tell him? Why didn't you want his help? Was he the reason you left? Is he the problem?

-He feels guilty, very guilty. So much so that I no longer want to become friends with someone, he is afraid that they will leave like the others, like you. He thinks he's lost you forever, he doesn't even think about the possibility that Caine can fix you, he just focuses on the fact that it's his fault and that he should be in your place, not you. You didn't deserve that fate, he does.

-He misses you a lot, and many times he forgets that you are no longer with him. Once he came out of his pillow fort looking for you to tell you facts about ants, he stood inches from his pillow fort and muttered something quickly, getting back in, as absolute silence was heard.

- Some are worried about him, like Ragatha or Gangle (who she tried to cheer him up with her happy mask, but it's just being yelled at in the face and him running away). He was the first and the one who lasted the longest so it wouldn't surprise them if he was next, which is more likely to happen. Jax stopped him from bothering him by trying to make a joke, which he quickly regretted when he saw him in a dismal state .

- He has a pillow in his hand, gripping it tightly while he looks at it with his eyes, fixed on the pillow, he had hidden from the others in a place a little hidden from the bright. He didn't know why but he didn't want to be here alone again. He felt the emptiness inside him again, only now it was three times as painful, he squeezes the pillow tighter while closing his eyes tightly.

I didn't know when or how, but it was no longer 'him', now only it's ,him remains and one more abstraction. At least he wanted to be able to see you one more time, even if it's both this way, he doesn't care anymore. He loses the sense of thinking while it is only a black mass with eyes

Zooble!

-Act like they gives a shit, Although when they see you abstract they just stay silent like it's just you? and them in this whole digital world ,others at least don't notice it that your loss affected them in so many ways.Surely they will stop making annoying or realistic comments, they will miss some but they won't say more, people like Jax did notice that detail, when something with a problem happened they is no longer the usual Zooble, the one who is realistic and stops Jax from making more disasters and more,now she just leaves faster and more frequently, as if they wanted to be alone with them memories.

-they feels guilty for letting you ruin yourself in this place, they can imagine why you became abstracted and they doesn't forgive theyself. Although such a loss for a trapped person may be the end, it will only make they want to get out of there more, Having it as a main objective (the second would be to never love or get attached to anyone again in that place)

-they wants to go out for you, although they wanted to go out with you and mostly thought about scenarios of you together in the human world.Now that you're not here them desire to do everything except go out has mostly gone away, so that you can feel proud of them wherever you are, And it's good to lose them to abandon you

Okay, so can we talk about No Good Noelle for a second

This game wasn't explicit or detailed as Tcoaal, obviously

If we choose to stay with her "best friend," no progress will be made

She'll continue remaining in her shadows, working under her to make snowballs. Nothings new

She's literally good for nothing and remains the same. The entire narrative is basically what the title was all about.

She was given a choice

She could've gone with Yule

She could've made a change

But she chose to remain the same

(Well, technically, we chose Imao, but I hope someone is getting the point)

Anyways

If we compare it with the coffin of andy and Leyley

There are two branches for this one as well. One will lead us to a brighter ending with well... twisted themes and questionable choices, and the other will bring a closure to the story.

Basically them dying together

Again, nothing is new. It was written in their destiny they were simply following it

It's like one step forward two steps behind

It basically brought us to the light that whatever we did in the game just gets thrown to waste in the end

Every little progress we could've made just gets shunned away, which is depressing

So, what I'm trying to say is that we are either basically doing something for a change or making zero progress what so ever

Either way, we got a glimpse of their story

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there's a wrong choice.

One is just perfectly depicting their titles.

Noelle really proving that she's a no-good noelle,

and the decay ending really closing the tale of The coffin of andy and leyley

But the burial and yule route, both of them are chaotic, both of them emphasis on exploring another outcome

This time, all the interactions didn't go to waste

The choices led up to a change in the cycle. We broke out of it, and this new ending is progress in its twisted way.

It proves the title wrong, at least in some way

So now we can look at it from a metaphorical perspective

Noelle is still the same. She still can't make highly professional snowflakes, but when she teamed up with yule, she got out of the miserable life she was in. She refused to succumb under her mother or her best friend.

She refused to follow the regulations and cheat. She chose to be deceitful instead

Pretty similar to Ashley and Andrew not following the regulations of the society and burying their old selves figuratively.

This goes for the questionable route

Cause this is them growing as their own person instead of trying to fit in and following what's supposed to be right.
