video game / dnd item idea: a magical top hat that when you stick your hand in it, you'll pull out a completely random item to "aid you" in battle. and when i say "completely random item", i don't mean a random item form the game, i mean a COMPLETELY random item. for all you know, when you stick your hand in there, you could pull out:
a stick
a massive katana
a nokia phone
a stick, with a lawnmower on it
a comically large spoon
an MP5 rifle
a nuclear bomb
a staff that launches anyone it hits 5 kilometers into the air
a stick, with a nuclear bomb on it
a frog on a leash
a comically large fork
a cat
a sniper rifle so absolutely massive it wouldn't even be worth it to try and use it
a grenade
a granola bar
an apple
a gravity-defying pineapple
a large battle hammer
a comically large knife
a tiny little bouncy ball
a taser
a shotgun that shoots airpods
a mace made out of rotting flesh with a gaping hungry maw on the front which can devour the corpses of your enemies, adding to the mass of the weapon and enhancing its power
a small white dove
a lamp
an anvil and a propane tank
a water bottle
a biscuit that's really really dry
an energy drink
a suitcase
literally fucking spy from tf2
ANOTHER FUCKING MAGICAL TOP HAT THAT PULLS OUT RANDOM ITEMS

Started playing Fear and Hunger recently and this guy is pretty silly. I like that he likes bugs, that’s a green flag in my book, bugs are great.
Nothing in this post in particular is mature, but the game itself is, it’s a pretty dark horror game, so I’ll be putting some content warnings in the tags so any talk about the game on my account can be filtered out easier!
Some thoughts about the game under a cut :3
I haven’t played as Enki tho, I picked Cahara because he’s easier and it’s my first playthrough, and he’s pretty cool too. I really love the character and monster designs in this game. The art is super cool :3. I’ve had the worst luck this run tho oh my god; I started the game took like two steps and immediately got blindsighted by three dogs. All the enemies in the first left entrance area spawned in the first room. Two elite guards spawned in the room past the prisons instead of the usual one. Moonless would not spawn for like a solid few reloads and then ended up on the bottom of the map instead of the top where they usually are. I talked to Nosramus (love them, they’re great, they were off screen the whole conversation tho whoops) and immediately afterwards got the crow mauler text and had to leave the room. Got D’arce and promptly ran into a yellow mage and lost my arm! It’s been wild and I’m even just playing on easy mode 💀💀💀!!! My computer also kinda sucks and lags sometimes, but yeah! The game is fun!!!!! I have no idea how far I am in it, but I’m almost to where Le’garde is captured. My whole strategy has been fuck around and find out and it’s working XD!!! I kinda expected it to be scarier, but that might be because I’m a little used to horror as a genre in general, but it’s a nice balance of spooky atmosphere and usual RPG action stuff in a way that comes off sincere and not like edgy for the sake of being edgy if that makes sense. It’s cool :3
Anyway there’s a lot of games I’ve started recently and haven’t finished so I guess I’ll be playing those for a while. I still need to beat CV64, I’m just currently stuck on the uh gear platforming section with the bomb. If you know, you know 💀💀💀. It’s hard. I also have to beat Curse of Darkness, but I’m really close to the end in that one I’m just getting all the random side rooms and stuff. Raising more innocent devils besides my main team just to be able to open a door is a little tedious tbh, but eh it’s an excuse to play the game for longer so I’ll take it. But yeah, hopefully life actually lets me beat all these games so I can talk about them more (TwT ;).

Two Caretakers, a good one and a bad one. The bad Caretaker hides Whumpee’s comfort item because in their words, “they shouldn’t be so dependent on it.”
When the good Caretaker finds out bad Caretaker hid/threw it away, they’re more than a little angry.

This might be unpopular but hear me out..
Often we think of our goal surrounding culturally significant items to be preservation (keep them in a museum in the perfect environment for preservation, touch them as little as possible, sometimes going even as far as to not expose them to light..) with the idea that it is for “future generations”. It is well known, however, that the Titanic is slowly disintegrating, its shelf life is limited regardless of if we leave it alone, study it or tour it (I want to put it out there that I don’t support touring the wreck but that's beside the point).
I say this because I’ve seen some people mention how upsetting it is that the wreckage was possibly disturbed/damaged by this Oceangate incident but I don’t think you should be. In many ways, any inflicted damage adds to the story and life of the ship (regardless of the cause or people’s opinions on whether it is justified). I understand the moral arguments about it being a gravesite and I agree that it should be left alone, but seeing as this incident has already happened, I think it brings up an interesting conversation about how we treat cultural items as needing to be preserved indefinitely when any damage (especially with a story that is so sensational) ultimately adds to the history of the thing in question.

Many years ago as a kid I heard about how the creation of an artificial sweetener was the result of a scientist licking his finger after experimenting with tar.
Well, I was inexplicably thinking about this recently and like what if there was a weird type of 'sweet tar' that is used in places where access to other forms of sweeteners is limited.
Maybe it could be used like syrup, or mixed with vinegar to make a salad dressing, or maybe even somehow desiccated into a sugar-like substance to be sprinkled into porridges.
I think if nothing else, it'd be an interesting visual distinction for a place to have.

Ok Dark 4Halo concept of if it actually got to a wedding. Of course it’s a big deal the President in getting married and of course such a high profile event needs security. Federation guards making sure no guests have any armor or weapons on them to enter, they obviously half to protect the President. Bad is told that after he’ll get his stuff back once everything is official and he agrees (If the “scanner” from Dapper’s book digs into his back no one else has to know). Of course there’s still an attempt on Forever’s life but in the middle of the explosion both members of the “happy” couple are teleported away. Leaving Bad with no armor, no weapons, no totems in Cucurcho’s office with a drugged Forever and that fudging bear while no one else knows where he is
OHHH THATS SO GOOD !!! i'm a sucker for very powerful people being made legitimately helpless and how they respond to that. really interesting character choices can be made when the self-assured become afraid.
Bad, i think, would not be afraid. Bad is smart. Bad has been trapped before. He learns from his mistakes. He would be teleported, and he would stall. "What do you want, Cucurucho?" and "Let us go" and, "Give me my children back." it would laugh at him, and he would get mad at it, and mad at forever, and mad at the whole federation because this is a mess and he knows he's going to be okay. because the last time he was trapped and caged with no way out he couldn't teleport- but now, now he has an enderpearl stasis chamber.
so he waits for someone to save him. he waits for someone to free him. he made sure the other islanders knew where it was, so its just a matter of time
and he waits.
and he waits.
and it’s taking too long.
cucurucho pulls out an enderpearl and shows it to him. It throws it, and teleports no where.
"hahaha," it says. "hahaha."
and that is when bad would start to feel afraid

I would also like to clarify that the bdsm boss in question is also a play on chess pieces, and is a very fun and unique boss fight. The Fiend Folio mod is very in depth and adds a LOT to the game, so if you want more content, i HIGHLY recommend it. It has at least two pizza tower references and like three homestuck references
i've actually played fiend folio before, pretty fun mod honestly! kicked my ass though. i don't really dislike that boss either, it's a pretty neat concept tbh.
i got the pizza item in question during a playthrough once though but it didn't give me the Peppino outfit 😭
........ related. i do have several Pizza Tower mods installed and it led to me getting this beautiful screenshot once-
