"Danny you ready?"

"Give me a second Red!"

"No time! Going live in…"

"Wait wait wait!"

"3..."

"I got the popcorn!"

"What about the block against the Justice League?!"

"1…"

"Red locked them out of the system. Now get ready!!"

"Go!"

Danny blinked as he got pushed by Superboy in front of the camera Impulse was standing behind. Behind them was Wonder Girl giving him a thumbs up with one hand and holding up giant flash cards with her other one.

"Uh Hi?"

Impulse raised an eyebrow and moved his hand in a keep going motion. Nervously Danny rubbed his neck. He looked left and right as if looking for something until his eyes focused back onto the camera. He coughed, took a deep breath, unnecessary in phantom form but helpful to calm down, before smiling and touching his hands together at their fingertips.

"Ahem. Hello, hi. Now you might be wondering. Who the fuck is that guy to interrupt my Saturday night movie program. I am Phantom, the newest member of Young Justice. King of the Ghost Zone also known as the Infinite Realms. The Dimension that's pretty much gluing our entire reality together." He gave the camera a nervous smile before he continued. "I am here to tell you on behalf of the entirety of the Infinite Realms. That you humans, of this dimension…"

Danny took a deep breath, from the corner of his eyes he saw Superboy giving another keep going sign while Red Robin was checking something on his laptop, making sure none of their mentors was trying to cut short their live feat over the entire world as well as that the subtitles worked for different language countries.

"...well you humans suck." Danny said as he breathed out, closing his eyes and pausing for a moment to let his message sink in. "Look, I get it. It's always hard finding something new, seeing change but come on. Anti-Ecto Acts? Was that necessary?"

He waved his hand around like he was thinking to find the right words while peaking at the flash card Wonder Girl was holding up.

"Like come on, can't you humans get your act together? Why hunt down an entire species just because they are different? You humans are already constantly at war with each other, aside from the idiocy of that, do you really have to add interdimensional war to that list?"

Danny chuckled nervously ignoring the additional flash card Impulse was now holding up to make him call out some of the humans' crimes against, the list mostly containing petty things Impulse didn't like. "Just so you know. I am barely keeping my council from declaring the dimensional one by the way." He added instead.

"Now you all are probably wondering what the hell this random ghost hero is talking about with no solution." He glanced to the side. " Well I have one."

Danny coughed into his hand and right his stance. "Dogs."

He held out his arms and Cujo appeared out of nowhere jumping into them. Off camera Wonder Girl coed. His ghost puppy had pretty much charmed all his hero friends since day one.

"They are loyal, awesome, cute and every beings best friend. Ancients even Superman has one!" Danny said smiling as he held up Cujo into the camera, he was glad he had remembered to infuse Red Robin's equipment with ectoplasm so the broadcast wouldn't get distorted.

"It's something we can all agree on. So, are you with me? Let's discard these stupid acts and all focus on the cuteness of little beings like him? How could anyone want to destroy his entire existence!"

"SHIT!" Red Robin cursed loudly off Camera and Danny blinked head turning towards his direction. "B got our location! Oracle ratted us out and is about to shut down the broadcast!"

"What this soon?! We didn't even get to the juicy parts yet!" Impulse complained loudly and Danny nervously faced the camera.

"Uh… Yea so.. No Anti-Ecto Acts and pro Dogs!" He summed up liften a encouraging fist up as Cujo barked happily in his arms.

"ETA 2! We need to bolt!" Red Robin shouted as Wonder Girl Rushed across the camera to open the window on the other side. Superboy was already picking up Red Robin and Impulse was gone before Red had even finished his sentence.

Phantom gave the camera one nervous smile as Cujo jumped out of his arms. "For the record. This broadcast was brought to you by sleep deprived Red and our opinion that the Justice League is taking too long!"

The next second phantom was seen rushing off to the side most likely following the others a moment later a crash was heard in the distance before the camera tilted and fell to the side. The broadcast was cut off at that point.

Unknown to the audience, a group of young hero's was rushing away from there not so secret broadcasting location, trying to escape their mentors that were not happy about their kids trying to take matters into their own hands just because 'the adults are taking to long'.

if you put dirk gently in a box, he's gonna try to get out of it. & then he'll get angry. & then he'll get sad. & he'll start thinking Well maybe there's a reason i'm in this box. Maybe it's protecting me. but after a while he'll start saying Maybe i'm in this box for a reason. Maybe there's something wrong with me. vs the rowdy 3. if you put them in a box they will say Let us out of the box. & they will fight every step of the way until they're out of the box. they know the box hurts them. acting violently outside of the box is a way to make sure they never get put in again. you dont want to contain people like them. that's why their arc with amanda is so moving! they've known each other for barely a day, & martin gives her a weapon. a way to hurt him. he lets her into his van. he hasn't seen her in months but he fights a war for her & hands her control. it's such an act of trust! to say i love you & i accept you & i trust you with myself. i trust you with my family. i trust you with my vulnerabilities because i know you will never put us back in that box. (& in doing so he gives amanda self-autonomy! they trust her so she can trust herself! she doesn't have to be terrified all the time because there are people who have faith!)

but bart. you put bart in a box & she doesn't get it. you'll say This is a box & she'll shrug. she doesn't get that a box is A Box because everything is a box to her. she exists in a box & then a different box & then another box & this is just how the world works. & then she meets ken (& sings to bad car songs! & gets shot! & washes her hair!) & suddenly realizes that if everything is a box, there are good boxes (ken! the fantasy realm!) & bad boxes (blackwing). but it's still all one big box to her. & there's no point in finding good boxes because they open up & she's alone again. she doesnt know how to keep a good box. she must not be made for the good boxes. so she goes back to the only Good Box that she's ever known, even though a box can't be good, & she calls it going home. & now ken & blackwing are one & the same but it doesn't matter because it's all a box. it doesn't even matter. he hurts her & it's just what boxes do. she wants to kill him but he says that's just what boxes do. & its all just one. big. box.

having young justice thoughts again and. wow. they really just exemplify the desperation and intimacy of teenage friendship don’t they.

like this line my god. there’s this forced proximity that constructs such bone deep bonds. you’re not just close cause you have similar interests or worldviews, you’re close in a way that can mean you know each other better than you know yourself. and there’s this paradoxical immortality and ephemerality to it because in the moment all you focus on is the feeling, that need to cling onto each other that lengthens seconds into hours. but underneath it all is that looming threat of adulthood that threatens to rip it at the seams through the pressure of responsibility and expectation.

as much as I have mixed feelings on graduation day lol. I think it captures that conflict in an interesting way. because despite their bond, it’s not enough and they rip themselves apart under the pressure. BUT. and I think this is a core part of teenage friendship (ESPECIALLY queer teen friendships but conversation for another day). they rebuild, they drift towards each other again and sew patches on the rips. because ultimately, nothing can hope to replace that bond they have with each other. so they’ll stitch themselves back together no matter what, not just cause they want to, but because they HAVE to.

Straight up had a dream last night that DC revealed that Bart and Kon were dating and it was in the WILDEST FUCKING WAY.

K, so picture this: Clark needs someone to fly around disguised as him for a plan. So Clark goes through the options in his head: Bruce can't fly, MM is off world, Jon is too much of a twink to be believable, Kara is blonde, Kon is.... Perfect! With a person in mind who would be perfect for his plan, Clark flies off to find Kon.

Cut to Judy Garrick zipping around the Garrick's house. Joan is quietly scrapbooking at the kitchen table and Judy is bored out of her mind. Judy asks Joan if there is anything she can do because she is so unbelievably bored.

Joan responds, very calmly, that she can hear "your brother's boyfriend touching down in the backyard, so why don't you go ask him?"

Judy's face jumps from emotion to emotion as three things are revealed at once. 1) Joan considers Bart to be a son and thus, Judy's brother, 2) Judy's new brother is not straight and 3) Bart has a boyfriend who is in the backyard.

So Judy immediately runs to the backyard and is stunned to bump into Clark (who was there looking for Kon) and then the dream continued on with the two of them hunting down Bart&Kon (who were just at school being normal goddammit!!!) but the entire time Judy is secretly out for blood because she thinks that Joan was referring to Clark and that this adult man is trying to date her new little brother and Judy keeps trying to kill him but it doesn't work because Clark is Kryptonian (and oblivious to the attempted homicides).

Anyway, wild dream all around.

There are only so many fanfics that use the entirety of DC as cardboard cutouts to prop up bat family characters that I can read before I go berserk.

I swear to god. Every character that has ever been shipped with a bat or coexists on the same team as a bat is owed an apology.

How many Young Justice fanfics that solely revolve around Tim must exist? How many Titans fanfics centered only on Dick? Why is it a herculean task to find a Justice League fanfic without Bruce as the main character?

And then even when you do find a fic that seems like it's balanced, everything still revolves around the bat. Like Kon, Cassie and Bart have nothing else going on in their lives except Tim and Tim's issues or thinking about Tim. Like Donna and Wally and Roy just cannot function if they aren't spending every waking moment thinking about Dick.

I'm... Guys. I'm at my limit. I swear to god. We need to make a Batman tag and surgically remove all these fics and quarantine them there. We'll keep the actual DC fics and they can do whatever the fuck they want in their own tag. It's getting ridiculous how hard it is to find fanfic that's actually DC related and isn't just 'The BatFam Show'.
