Cinemasins roasting poorly-written bondage scenes is one of my favourite things XD

My favorite plot-hole-that-isn’t of GO2 is that if a single angel or demon had thought to check Twitter or Reddit they would have found Gabriel immediately. At no point does Aziraphale miracle away the dozens of cell phone pics being taken of the buck naked erstwhile archangel at his doorstep.

Every time I see a "Dean already knows how his parents met because he went back in time!" post is driving me up the wall, because NO. The first time Dean went back, John and Mary had been together long enough that she was expecting a marriage proposal, and the second time Dean went back, Mary was pregnant. Dean did not EVER witness how their relationship began.
I need everyone saying this to rewatch those episodes and then hush.

As soon as you find out a kdrama is a webtoon adaptation, you should not be expecting a good drama with a solid plot and well developed characters lol

After having a night to think of it, and reading some reviews, my opinion of Doctor Strange 2 mellowed somewhat. I still think it’s very enjoyable, especially its visuals and (some) of the acting (Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen do a great job, some of the cameos are also good, but Rachel McAdams is phoning it in hard, or she’s just not that good)
But its script is a mess and a half. It’s a swiss cheese of plot holes, and the pacing is out of wack, being way too fast to begin with, and padded out after that with lots of random bullshit.
I’d still recommend it for the visual and emotional experience alone (much like the first movie) but the writing is far from satisfactory (I think the writer of Loki being behind this movie is probably why, since that show is a mess and a half too).

I'm about to indulge a friend of mine and give a second chance to friendship to a guy who answered my "Yeah I didn't like these choices in the movie, I feel like a human being wouldn't behave like that in this scenario" with "maybe it's because I study cinema, but I don't usually dwell on these minor things, I can just enjoy the movie because ultimately I know these are choices made by the writers to tell the story".
So yeah this guy is on thin fucking ice

There’s two different types of bad writing, and one of them is the kind that’s actually infuriating.
There’s bad writing that’s just bad 100% of the way through, or it’s otherwise so low quality that there’s nothing of value to be gained from it. When writing is this bad, you can just ignore it and forget about it because it has no skill, no value, no memorability whatsoever. You don’t develop strong feelings about it because the writing is so bad you can’t even hate it because you don’t care about it enough to complain about it.
And then there’s bad writing that actually has gems of quality in it: There were interesting concepts, or character relationships that seemed interesting, or a setting or other plot device that adds depth to the world. Except it’s executed in such a shoddy way that it makes you scream from how much worse the actual writing is compared to what it could have been in theory. Bad writing that’s bad because of wasted potential is 1000% worse than bad writing that’s just bad because it’s just good enough to make you want to enjoy it.
The latter type of bad writing is pretty much how I feel about Barber’s work in phase 2 and it really annoys me lmao. Because Barber got almost every plot point that I was looking forward to reading about (Earth politics, Pyra Magna, colonies, Optimus fucking Prime being my favorite character of the whole continuity) and managed to turn it into a snail-paced boring slog full of contrivances that don’t make sense and only exist to force a certain plot to happen, with virtually no character relationships that are interesting and sloppy political allegories that aren’t actually told through a good story and are basically just Barber puppeteering the characters to scream “THIS IS A POLITICAL ALLEGORY DO YOU GET IT” as if this is entertaining or #deep when really it’s just boring and annoying.
