Summary : During their journey to Water 7, (Y/N) finds comfort in Zoro's arms...

Tears ran down (Y/N)'s cheeks. Usopp and Luffy had just fought for the Going Merry. The sniper had lost and decided to leave the crew.

- It's his choice, Nami told her, stroking her back. It's sad, but he knew what he was doing.

- I think I'm going to go and rest a little to forget all that, declared the young woman, sniffing.

- All right. See you later, said the redhead, handing her a tissue.

(Y/N) grabbed it and wiped her tears.

The navigator leaned towards her with a wicked smile.

- That will be 50 berries, she whispered in his ear.

- What ?! For a paper tissue ?

- Yes.

(Y/N) sighed and handed her the money. Then, she entered the hotel they had taken in Water 7, and made her way to her room, cluttered with all their belongings that they had unloaded from the ship. The shutters were closed and the light was dim, so she could barely see. She undressed, jumped into the double bed and buried herself under the sheets.

Suddenly she realized there was someone else under the covers. She let out a cry.

- Hey, what's got you screaming like that? a male voice exclaimed. I was taking a nap!

(Y/N) recognized Zoro. But what was he doing there, shirtless, sleeping in her bed?

- Do you know you're in my room right now? she asked him.

- What are you saying ? It's mine !

The young woman pointed to her suitcases and other belongings piled in a corner. The swordsman sighed.

- I think I got lost again. But hey, since I'm here, I might as well stay. It's a double bed after all.

(Y/N) rolled her eyes and buried herself under the sheets with her back turned. It was still incredible that the young man got lost so easily! And now... he was half naked in his bed. And she was only wearing a nightie. And... she couldn't hide the fact that she'd had feelings for him for a long time.

She lay there sleepless for a long time, all sadness forgotten. It was then that she heard the swordsman moaning in his sleep. He turned around, his chest now pressed against her back. (Y/N)'s eyes widened in the dark as she felt a bulge in his pants.

- Oh, Y/N...

She jumped. Did he just say her name? Was he dreaming of her? And still... could this be a wet dream?

She turned around and observed the sleeping face of the handsome young man. Her gaze was quickly drawn to his lips.

Suddenly, Zoro opened his eyes sharply.

- What are you doing ?!

He stood up and held his head in his hands.

- Do you have a Devil Fruit that you never told us about? You have bewitched me ! Why do I spend all my time thinking about you?

(Y/N) leaned towards him, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

- I just think it means you have feelings for me, she whispered.

- Oh ? And you too ?

- Well..., she said, blushing.

She turned her head away, but Zoro grabbed her chin and pressed his lips to hers. She kissed him back and wrapped her arms around his neck. The swordsman's skin was burning. They separated, out of breath.

But he came back, kissing her neck, her throat, her collarbone, pinning her under his body. She let herself go, won over. Then, he returned to her lips, and this time, they mixed their tongues in an intoxicating dance. The bulge in the swordsman's pants continued to grow, and (Y/N) felt her panties becoming damp.

- If we continue, I won't be able to stop, the young man warned her.

- Too bad, continue..., breathed (T/P).

Zoro untied his bandana from his arm and blindfolded his friend with the piece of fabric.

- I want you to feel only pleasant sensations, he said, taking off her t-shirt.

(Y/N) lifted her back off the bed to help her remove the garment better. Slowly, he took one nipple into his mouth, licking and kissing it, while playing with the other with his calloused fingers. Then he caressed her stomach and sides, and moved down until he reached her crotch. He lifted the young woman's skirt and tore off her panties. He plunged two fingers into her intimacy. Zoro unbuttoned his pants then took off his boxers. He lay on top of her, careful not to crush her, and slowly thrust into her, grunting. (Y/N) let out a long moan. The young man was very big, and his huge member stretched every part of her vagina, touching all the sensitive spots.

Abruptly, he began to move back and forth. (Y/N) raised her hands to trace the outline of Zoro's face, to imagine him better, but he grabbed his wrists and pinned them above his head. With his other hand, he grabbed her throat, stealing her breath.

- Ah, Zoro..., she panted.

His dominant side excited her even more. His thrusts were violent, but so enjoyable. The smell of sex hung in the air and the sound of their mixed fluids echoed in the room.

River Spirit Nami (Nami Iara)

Once upon a time, a young farmer was enchanted by music coming from the deep jungle, and followed it to the grove of a ricer spirit. Overcome by her beauty, he went to embrace her—and was dragged screaming into the emerald waters below, never to be seen again.

Concept:

One of my favorite skins, Nami Iara is a concept that naturally comes to her. As the game’s “mermaid champion", her skin pool should be entirely dependent on what can be done with her tail. Older skins like Koi or Deep Sea take full advantage of it by casting her as a sea creature, while her more recent skins like Splendid Staff, Cosmic Destiny, Bewitching, and Space Groove don't necessarily do that.

River Spirit fully embraces her mermaid origins, but rather than being the more generic siren-type, River Spirit Nami takes from an indigenous Brazilian folklore. Although, this may have been more due to Cassiopeia already fulfilling that role in this skinline.

"In the forest, under the moonlight...guided by the song of the river...I couldn't believe what I saw."

I grew up reading many different iterations of the Iara myth (though they were all of Mauricio de Sousa’s creations). My favorite, I believe, came from a large green book, a collection of several other Brazilian folklores including the headless mule, the saci, and the pink dolphin.

In this version, Iara is a beautiful indigenous woman who goes out into the forest, gets lost, and becomes a mermaid. It fully omits the conflict of envy and betrayal that is present in most other versions and Iara's death before she transforms. Nami Iara is betrayed and killed by her own tribe, but connects her to base Nami's kindheartedness by opting for the more modern casting of Iara as a guardian of nature, specifically bodies of water. Nami is lured to her death by the threat of pollution and in her rebirth, vows to protect the natural world.

Design:

River Spirit Nami’s concept art is beautiful. I think the design does a wonderful job of conveying her Brazilian, specifically Amazonian, origins through its colors and accessories. It’s always a bit difficult to work with Nami’s “hair” and though it looks great in the concept art and model, I do find it a little difficult to see in-game. What I can appreciate though is the decision to allow her to be topless like many indigenous women, especially those from the group that the Iara myth originated from. The tribal paint also connects her to her indigenous roots while also having some story significance, but it’s mostly used to provide a semblance of a top (interestingly, Nami, as an aquatic/sometimes amphibious being, has breasts but no nipples lol). Lastly, I really do love the design of her staff but I wish that the mirror either had more significance or didn’t exist at all.

Splash Art:

Personally, I’m a huge fan of the splash art. I find it does a good job of portraying that more alluring side of both Iara and Nami.

Model:

The model will almost always look worse than the splash art, especially for champions with older models like Nami. Wild Rift does an excellent job on the model but you really can’t compare the two. Going back to the design, looking at the model head-on does make her forehead appear a little strange, especially with the middle strand that is part of her “hair” in her base form but part of her headdress in this skin. From the sides, though, which is probably the angle the player will usually be seeing the model, it looks quite nice. I also love her tail despite it, as well as the rest of the skin, having more muted colors than the splash art. And though I liked the staff in the concept art, I don’t really like it in the splash or model. The piranhas are cute and I appreciate all the work that went into representing the Iara myth and, by extension, Brazilian culture.

Chromas:

No chromas.

Animations:

The only new animation is in her recall where she is sat on a rock and singing, an obvious reference to Iara. It’s pretty simple, but I do enjoy her head and face movements.

VFX:

Aside from making the water greener, there’s not much of a difference from base Nami. The yellow sparkle-like effects on her abilities are very pretty though.

SFX:

No new sound effects.

However, her recall does feature a vocalization of the very first part of Nami’s theme.

Voice Over:

I previously implied that Nami is not fit to play a vengeful character, but this skin's new voice lines, unique to Brazilian servers, portray her quite well. Like base Nami, she is intent on protecting her home, in this case, the river. However unlike base Nami, she does not have the love of her people to motivate her or fall back on and her voice lines reflect that as she denounces those who have betrayed her while also using that pain to fuel her mission of protecting nature.

Additionally, I'm not sure how many people find Nami "sexy", but she does have a few voice lines that are meant to be more alluring ("I'll meet you where the river bends." or "Your heart? I'll steal it!") as Iara is, above all, a siren who enchants men with her song before dragging them to the bottom of the river to drown. I find these voice lines adorable, more than anything.

Below are some of her new voice lines as well as the several changes to her original ones that were made to be more relevant to the skin’s background:

“We are all tied to the ocean.” —> “We are all tied to nature.”

“I will see my home again.” —> “Will I see my home again?”

(I’m not entirely sure if this is an altered line or a completely new one) “They’re puddle monsters at best.” —> “They’re nothing but traitors.”

“This is minnow’s play.” —> “This is lambari’s (a freshwater fish similar to a tetra) play.”

“Ew, whale breath.” —> “Ew, piranha breath.”

“I moonlight as a shark caller.” —> “I moonlight as an alligator caller.”

“My innocence was my downfall.”

And the fan-favorite ultimate line: “From the source (in reference to birth but also a water source) to your death!”

Value:

This skin is a personal favorite of mine, though not necessarily the most visually appealing. Recent (League of Legends) Nami skins have made her a conventionally cute mermaid girl, which, in turn, reinforces that archetype and generates more conventionally cute mermaid girl skins for her. For 975 RP, I think it’s a much better skin than Koi Nami, but Urf the Nami-Tee is much cheaper at only 750 RP and arguably the cutest of her older skins.

i hope they go back to giving nami more non-human skins. i think iara and program are genuinely her best skins (at least as concepts). my partner gifted me splendid staff nami and i know it’s many people’s favorite but it’s actually one of my least favorites lol. it’s pretty but cosmic destiny is prettier. and space groove and bewitching just have better sound effects.

It’s the literal end of mermay, here’s my redesign of a skin that had so much potential. Bewitching Nami

It takes talent to make a literal mermaid look like fiora but anyways her hair and hat is based off of jellyfish because that’s just under explored in deep sea witch designs despite being the perfect shapes for it.

I tried to keep a similar color scheme while having fun with things like campy witch green skin. On Reddit someone said it was horrid so I must be doing something right

so tired of all the people on reddit & twitter trying to redesign bewitching nami... like bitch, she fucking ATE that skin, leave her be.🙄 Also then ragging on and guilting people who like it? Gross. I also cant stop thinking about how that was probably the last skin Katey worked on before she left Riot. 🥺 Don’t worry, Nami Mommy, I will buy best girl’s skin ♥

Okay, in all seriousness, If they’d actually look at the skinline, every monster champ that’s been added to the skinline has light skin: Elise, Poppy, & Tristana. So idk why they think Nami would be different? I know people are going to be triggered because of this but if you don’t like the skin, dont buy it. Riot thinks with their wallets, that’s why the Winter Wonder & Sugar Rush skin line got canned because people weren’t buying them (which is sad because I’ve seen so many cute skin concepts for each). My reason for buying this skin other than paying homage to Katey? I’m honestly in LOVE with the VFX: the pink, purple & green and the bats and pumpkin fish? A-MAZ-ING!!! Would have to be my favorite VFX out of all of Nami’s skins.

Other Nami mains that like this skin? Don’t let others bully you from buying it. It’s an absolutely adorable skin and if Riot sees how profitable she is, she’ll get more skins. 🤑
