oh my god that azul snippet when mc tries to leave.... I LOVE THAT IDEA SO MUCH TBH. like imagine if yuu is tyring to get away from the lounge when they catch him doing underhanded things to get yuus relationships to fizzle and just as yuu was about to leave azul grabs onto them, begging them that it wasn't what it looked like or spewing excuses somewhere along those lines. looking back at what i read it sounds kinda shitty but I'm just spewing word vomit lmao

Summary: Teary-eyed Azul begging for forgiveness.

Note: So y'all like desperate men, huh? (I wrote this like at 2AM last night on a google doc, promptly before passing out).

"It's over, Azul."

It felt like his heart broke in half upon hearing those words escape your lips. All because he had become too careless. All it took was one slip-up, one misstep, as he was oblivious to your presence in the shadows of the lounge while he frightened a poor unsuspecting student he had grown envious of when they sat beside you in a class for more than three days in a row. As he spoke ominous words that could vaguely be made out as threats, you eavesdropped without his knowledge. That was what led to this moment, you making the decision to break any contact with him due to his actions.

Ashengrotto inhaled sharply, it felt like a piece of glass pierced his arteries. Instantly, without thinking, he reached forward and gripped onto your sleeve, fueled by the newfound desperation and reemerging fear. "W-Wait, you don't understand––" 

"Oh, I understand perfectly." You hissed. "Involving me in these cruel acts of yours, making people avoid me, and doing great seven knows what else! This is exactly what I get for trusting you, isn’t it? I should've never given you another chance."

Shrinking down under your intense gaze, Azul's knees gave out and he fell in front of you. Even if you took a photograph with something like the ghost camera, no one would believe you if you said the Azul Ashengrotto was basically groveling on his knees in front of you, in his very own lounge no less. Usually it was the opposite way around. People were on their knees in front of him, begging for their debts to be forgiven.

His grip had moved to the cloth over your knee, gripping it tightly until his knuckles turned white, tears rimming his eyes. Everytime you even moved an inch, his grip would tighten and you had to wonder where he got his strength from. All you hear are excuses pouring out of his mouth, mixed in with pleas and offers, topped with the occasional choked back sob. You can't make sense of half of what he's saying by how he's clung to you and dug his face into the side of your leg. You're not sure if he was too ashamed to show his face so he hid it like this, or he just was that fearful of being torn apart.

"P-Please, understand, it was for you—"

"For me? Or for you?"

He sucks in a breath and shakes his head. "For us. Us. I’ll make up for it…!” More fat droplets of salty water had begun to sprout from his eyes as he spoke rapidly, “Whatever your heart desires shall be yours. What do you desire most? Say the word, and you shall have it. All I ask for in payment is to, please, don’t leave me!”

went ahead and did all the idols (- bm again im sorry big man fans) you can think of these more as them actually roleplaying than me throwing the actual characters into fantasy land cause I got itty bitty character backgrounds too lol

Callie (Elven Bard) plays as a princess who knows very little about the world outside her kingdom, but is very excited to experience it as an aspiring songstress. She also sometimes DMs. Marie (Changeling Ranger) plays as Callie's guardian.She's disguised as Callie's cousin who (unknown to Cal) died in a battle Marie witnessed. There'd probably be an arc in their campaign where this is dramatically found out by another party member lol.

Pearl (Halfling Bard-barian) basically plays the same character Callie does (princess who leaves to be a bard) except she'd already be an established world famous musician. She's prone to starting fights and used to also be smth of a gladiator. Marina (Human Artificer) plays who she kinda is in real life tbh. Engineer/Inventor behind much of her country's advanced weaponry. She felt unfulfilled having her inventions used solely for war though and dipped.

Frye (F.Genasi Rogue/Sorcerer) and Shiver (W.Genasi Warlock/Monk) play as a scavenger and pirate respectively. Their characters grew up together with no family but each other and consider each other their greatest treasure. They're pretty ruthless, have killed and will kill again (family that slays together stays together). Big Man usually DMs for everybody but when he's not he's usually playing an Earth Genasi or Firbolg and classing as a Monk or Cleric and is of course makes Frye and Shiv's group complete.

i saw your death! jack drawing and!!!! it's so good! i think that although jack doesn't share that same malicious/taunting nature that death originally had, his very determined and serious attitude could make a great replacement. even if death wasn't a very layered character, and was more of a way to push the story ahead whenever he showed up??? that's the best I can think of to describe it, but either way the characterisation of jack can fill in those blank spaces. I can't think of anything that could make jack obsess over yuu without somehow breaking their dangerous impusilve personality that I've made up for yuu in my mind but a few i could come up with would probably be a constant drive to improve in an area, like dangerous stunts maybe??? idk, it's mostly just word vomit I'm coming up with at 1 in the morning but thkse are just my own littlebrainstorming ideas from this death!jack concept. funny thing about this all is that I don't even like jack that much 😭 azul/octavinelle have always been my fav characters above all, but this concept has just fired a bunch of ideas in my head LMAO

Wolf man ideas? Wolf man ideas. I just really liked Death as a villain (or Lobo, is what people are calling him now), literally so badass, he's gotta be up there in the ranks with Dreamwork's best like Tai Lung, Shen, Ramses, and the Fairy Godmother. But Lobo is on a different level, dude is a menace. The disrespect when he brought Puss his weapon and told him pick it up. The whistling? The design? The voice? The final battle scene? Yeah, Jack isn't very taunting like Lobo was, but Jack can be a menace because that dude can be scarily determined, just like Lobo was. I haven't thought of anything definite, because I'm still not sure if I'll write it, but I'm happy that people can have fun with the idea! Even if Jack isn't their favorite. Jack isn't my favorite either, but I like him, he's a cool character that has his interesting moments.

how old are pearl and marina? i was under the impression splatoon was populated entirely by kids but those two seem to be adults with careers

misconception that tends to annoy a lot of splatoon fans I think lol. Your player character and the others you see around the hub are meant to be around 14 (maybe a lil older in 3 cause theres a slight height difference from 1 n 2) but there's a whole world outside of the kids who play turf wars and stuff so yes there are older inkfish. all of the idols are adults (20+yo) and 2 of them have a grandparent (100+yo) featured in the games
