Now entering 1963, we're the sound of the decade start to solidify. Many future heavy-hitters of the decade made their debuts in the Billboard Year-End 100 this year. This is still before the popularity of Motown Records in the mainstream (although, the label was founded in 1958), but we're already seeing acts reminiscent of their 60's sound. I should also mention that this top ten isn't the list that was published in the December 1963 edition of Billboard Magazine. Rather, I'm using a later list that was compiled using additional data. That feels too vague for my liking and I'm currently working on finding the details (I'll update this post if I find anything). But this seems to be the generally-agreed upon list, so that's the one I'm going with. My apologies for robbing Surfin' U.S.A. of its number 1 spot. This also won't be the last time we deal with these "updated lists."

Reptile in MK-MKX: I just want my people back, I'm all alone, I'd do anything to get them back.
Reptile in MK1: I've been ostracized, tormented and banished by my people for being different.
This is Reptile's new theme song as far as I'm concerned

Or perhaps the original is better.

When I was still on Twitter I’d share that song mostly every Sunday. I don’t know the reference in your Ask but I love sharing music so thank you! 😄
And I also want to share Blue Velvet. It’s been stuck in my head ever since this video:

From my perspective, this is the year the 1960s truly begins in the Billboard charts. By which I mean we're seeing the staples of the previous decade start to fade in favor for trends that will come to mark this new one, seen with the influx of teen idols, girl groups, and the flood of dance crazes. The Twist charted again this year, two years after its last appearance in the Billboard year-end charts.
