In the nice lush of Green Hill, The flickies are flying by a rather cozy house. A whistle breaks through the bird song as the pair of flickies sitting on the nearby branch watching a sky blue colored mobian and starting to paint the house. The hedgehog breaks into an exhausted yawn.
"Ah man....I'm definitely going to miss out another ball game. It's my day off and Bri wants me to..."
Then a rush of two young kids running outside with a fit of giggles followed by another adult hedgehog with a blanket draped over her head and making bear noises.
Tumblr media
"Dad run! There's a bear on the loose!"
Tumblr media
"We gotta run away!"
The kids squeal with delight as the so called bear is chasing after them and both of the small mobians ran off."
The male adult hedgehog looks at the chaos with a tired smile.
".....Finish painting this wall."

My Sunflower|| John Dory x Fiancé!Reader
Warnings:Angst+Fluff
(This is my first real fanfic so Plss don’t be TOO harsh)
YALL ITS LONG OK😭
——————————————————————
“John! I’m home!” Said the exhausted troll walking through the door of their shared apartment. “Huh? Damn it’s 9pm.” Y/n said checking the time. “Hun, You here?” They screamed again wondering why their fiancé wasn’t answering. When they didn’t get a response they started to get anxious, but convinced themselves he went to either the studio or to hang out with his brothers.
The clock finally hits 11:03pm and still there isn’t a sign of JD. “Why isn’t he answering his phone?” You said with worry laced in your voice. His brothers also didn’t answer their phones for god knows what. Now you’re in full panic mode pacing back and forth in the dining room blowing UP his phone with messages and calls. After your many failed attempts of contacting him you finally decided to call the only person you KNEW that was gonna pick up. So you called his grandma.
Once she answered you tried to hide your anxiousness and your panicked voice, but she caught on to it quickly. “Hi Mrs. Rosie, do you know where John is? I haven’t spoke to him since this morning before I went to work.” You asked frantically hoping that she would cure the pulsating adrenaline going through your body. When you finished your nauseating questions the silence you both held was fueling it like you were going to burst. When the never ending silence finally came to an end a sigh was heard. "Hun Bun….JD left hours ago after their embarrassing show fail." she told you with reassurance and empathy. She then continued to tell you how and what happened between the brothers. The last thing you ever heard from her was “Sweetie just give it time.” So you waited…
And waited….
And waited….
Until 20 years have passed and still no sign of John. You were invited to the royal wedding of King Grisel and Bridget and was currently trying to find a dress. While rampaging you closet like a mad woman you come across and unfamiliar bagged dress. When you took it out you stared at it with tears welling up in your eyes. It was your dress he proposed to you in. It was admired in jewels and yellow sunflower like petals and soft like satin and silk. It was one of a kind. Your debating stopped instantly and you proceeded to put on the dress.
FAST FORWARD TO WEDDING :>
“We are gathered here today t-.” “STOP THE WEDDING!” A random voice yelled…
You felt like your heart was going to jump out your chest from all the adrenaline rushing. Trying to force your tears down you finally built enough courage to turn around and look to where everyone else was looking. When you finally saw who it was your tears finally escaped their haunted and sorrowful chamber. He was there……
Standing in front of Branch?
Trying to pick him up?
You didn’t wanna get noticed in this state so you turned to leave but you felt a hand grab your flushed smaller ones. It was Branch..”Are you ok?”he asked knowing you weren’t. “I’m ok.” You said quickly dismissing his attempts of comfort. Before you could leave you heard a nickname you never knew you would hear again. “My sunflower?” He must’ve felt the tension he created so he hurried to you and begged you too listen to his explanations and excuses. You couldn’t do nothing, BUT listen so you gave him 3 minutes. “The reason I left was because Brozone was turning into a disaster and I needed to just space myself away for a while!”
You didn’t know whether to be mad or sad or HELL even glad but you knew he was trying to get you to understand. “But did you have to go?” Tears welling up..
Silence…….
“Did you have to leave me alone without telling me ANYTHING?!!?”
“I-“ you didn’t let him finish before you started walking off letting the emotions and realization sink in. He knew he fucked up… He couldn’t let you leave…. He needed his flower…He ran up to you and hugged you as hard as he could to prevent you from leaving and cried like hell was dragging him away from the heaven he created with you. “Sunflower PLEASE, I promise I’ll never leave you again!!” He repeated like his life depended on it. You slowly started to give in and soothed him. “Please Hun, I promise I’ll pro-“ He couldn’t even get done with his sentence before feeling the feeling he oh so missed….
Your lips…
“Please Don’t leave me again.” You said barely above a whisper and your teary E/C eyes looked at him.
He smiled warmly and responded with nothing but sincerity..”Of course not my sunflower.”
THE ENDDDDDDD☺️🫶🏿

Glynis Margaret Payne Johns (October 5, 1923 - January 4, 2024) Film, stage and television actress, dancer, musician and singer. In a career spanning eight decades on stage and screen, Johns appeared in more than 60 films and 30 plays. She has received various accolades throughout her career, including a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, a National Board of Review Award, and a Laurel Award, in addition to nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award. She is widely considered as being one of the last surviving major stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood and classical years of British cinema.
Johns made her television debut in 1952 with Fletcher Markle's Emmy Award-winning series Little Women. She appeared in just one episode: season 4's "Lilly, the Queen of the Movies" as Lily Snape. Her television credits of the 1950s include brief appearances in the Hollywood anthology series Lux Video Theatre (in the 1953 episode "Two For Tea"), Errol Flynn's anthology series The Errol Flynn Theatre (in the 1956 episodes "The Sealed Room" as Lou McNamara and "The Girl in Blue Jeans" as The Girl Susan Tracey), CBS's anthology series Schlitz Playhouse of Stars (in the 1957 episode "The Dead Are Silent"), and ABC's variety and drama series The Frank Sinatra Show (in the 1958 episode "Face of Fear" as Christine Nolan)
Johns was cast in 1961 in the ABC/Warner Bros. crime drama The Roaring 20s. She portrayed Kitty O'Moyne, an Irish immigrant who falls overboard into the harbour as she arrives in the United States. Johns guest-starred in the CBS anthology seriesThe Lloyd Bridges Show in the episode "A Game for Alternate Mondays" of the 1962–63 television season, playing widow Leah Marquand, with Leslye Hunter as her daughter Isabella. On 5 August 1963, Vacation Playhouse premiered the episode "Hide and Seek" as the pilot of her eponymous CBS television series Glynis. The original working title for the series was The Glynis Johns Show; in it, Johns played the neophyte mystery writer and amateur sleuth Glynis Granvile. In the autumn of that year, Glynis officially premiered, starring Johns and Keith Andes as a married couple, Glynis Granville and Keith Granville, a criminal defence attorney. Due to pressure from NBC's The Virginian and Bill Cullen's The Price Is Right game show on ABC, the programme was cancelled after thirteen episodes. In 1965, when CBS reran the series as a summer replacement for The Lucy Show, Glynis ranked #6 in the Nielsen ratings. Johns remained busy on screen, appearing as Steffi Bernard in the episode "Who Killed Marty Kelso?" of ABC's detective series Burke's Law opposite Gene Barry. In 1967, she appeared in four episodes of the Batman television series as villainess Lady Penelope Peasoup, one half of the evil duo with Rudy Vallée as her brother Lord Marmaduke Ffogg.
During the first season of NBC's hit sitcom Cheers, Johns guest-starred as Diane Chambers' mother, Helen Chambers, an eccentric dowager who, due to a stipulation in Diane's late father's will, will lose all her money unless Diane is married by the next day. In 1985, Johns played Bridget O'Hara in the episode "Sing a Song of Murder" of CBS's crime drama television series Murder, She Wrote, working again with Angela Lansbury. From 1988 to 1989, she played Trudie Pepper, a senior citizen living in an Arizona retirement community, in the television sitcom Coming of Age, also on CBS. The actor Brigit Forsyth, who has died aged 83, made her name as Thelma in the BBC television series Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? One critic described Thelma as so prim that she could turn the lifting of a lace curtain into an art form.
Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais’s creation, which ran from 1973 to 1974, was the sequel to the popular 1960s sitcom The Likely Lads, which starred Rodney Bewes and James Bolam as Bob Ferris and Terry Collier, two single north-east England factory workers who share a flat and the same interests – women, drink and football.
Thelma Chambers was brought in as a girlfriend for the upwardly mobile Bob, now in the white-collar class with a house, car and annual holiday on the Costa Brava, scoffed at by Terry, who clings on to his working-class roots. Thelma and Bob were married halfway through the two series of the show.
“Up until then, I had done a lot of drama on telly,” said Forsyth. “If I wasn’t being murdered, I was murdering somebody or I was a disturbed art teacher. I was playing quite a lot of deranged people, so comedy was a nice change.”
She created laughs again with the sitcom Sharon and Elsie (1984-85), in which she co-starred as the middle-class Elsie Beecroft alongside Janette Beverley as the more down-to-earth Sharon Wilkes, two employees in a greetings card manufacturing company.
But Forsyth’s own favourite television part was Francine Pratt in Playing the Field (1998-2002), the on- and off-pitch women’s football drama created by Kay Mellor. Her character, who hates the game, is married to the Castlefield Blues’ sponsor, played by Ricky Tomlinson, and keeps him happy in return for designer clothes and other luxuries.
“I have never played awful glamour before,” she said. “I had a blond wig, six-inch heels, makeup and my bosom hitched up high.”
Forsyth was born in Malton, North Yorkshire, to Scottish parents, Anne (nee Forsyth), an artist, and Frank Connell, an architect and town planner, and brought up in Edinburgh. She was mesmerised by Stanley Baxter’s performances as a pantomime dame at the city’s King’s theatre and, aged 18, landed her own first lead role, as Sarat Carn, on her way to the gallows, in Charlotte Hastings’s play Bonaventure with the Makars amateur drama group.
But when she left St George’s school, Edinburgh, her parents insisted she learn a skill, so she trained as a secretary. After a couple of jobs, she headed for London and Rada (1958-60), where she won the Emile Littler prize.
She began her professional career back in Edinburgh with the Gateway theatre company (1960-61) before moving on to the Theatre Royal, Lincoln (1961-62) and the Arthur Brough Players in Folkestone (1962). With other actors already named Brigit McConnell and Bridget O’Connell, she changed her professional name to Forsyth on her return to Lincoln in 1962.
At the Edinburgh festival three years later, she played one of the witches in a headline-making production of Macbeth. “That show caused an absolute uproar because they wanted the witches to have the bodies of young girls and the faces of old women, and they wanted us to have our top half naked,” Forsyth recalled. “But the Earl of Harewood, who was running the EIF at the time, said ‘No’. So they put nipple caps on us, which looked absolutely disgusting – and they used to drop off each night. It was absolutely hysterical.”
Later, in the West End, Forsyth played Annie in The Norman Conquests (Globe, now Gielgud, and Apollo theatres, 1974-76) and Dusa in the feminist play Dusa, Fish, Stas and Vi (Mayfair theatre, 1976-77). She put her TV breakthrough down to cutting her hair short. “It proved a tremendously lucky omen,” she said.
That break came with Adam Smith (1972), in which she played the younger daughter of the title character, a Scottish minister (Andrew Keir). The director, Brian Mills, then worked with Forsyth on the psychological thriller Holly (1972), when she took the part of a young art teacher kidnapped by a mentally unstable student. Forsyth and Mills married in 1976.
Television roles kept on coming. She was Veronica, one of the product-promotion team, in The Glamour Girls (1980-82), Harriet in the inter-generational sitcom Tom, Dick and Harriet (1982-83), and Helen Yeldham, a hotelier, in the 1989 series of Boon.
There were also appearances in soap opera: as GP Judith Vincent in The Practice (1985-86); Babs Fanshawe, Ken Barlow’s escort agency date who dies of a heart attack, in a 1998 Coronation Street episode; Delphine LaClair, a sales rep for a French company interested in buying Rodney Blackstock’s vineyards, for two short runs in Emmerdale (2005 and 2006); Cressida, mother of the millionaire Nate Tenbury-Newent, in Hollyoaks in 2013; and three roles in Doctors between 2000 and 2012.
Forsyth also played the miserable Madge, who frustrates her sister Mavis’s attempts at a relationship with Granville, in the sitcom sequel Still Open All Hours (2013-19).
A cellist from the age of nine, Forsyth starred as the real-life virtuoso Beatrice Harrison in a 2004 tour of The Cello and the Nightingale. Also on tour, she was a remarkably believable Queen Elizabeth II in A Question of Attribution (2000) and played Marie in Calendar Girls (2008). “I’m Mrs Frosty-Knickers, the one who doesn’t approve of it all.”
In 2017, she played a terminally ill musician in the stage comedy Killing Time, written by her daughter, Zoe Mills, who acted alongside her. At the time, Forsyth revealed that her maternal grandfather, a GP in Yorkshire, had helped dying patients to end their lives. Declaring herself a supporter of euthanasia, she said: “He bumped off probably loads of people with doses of morphine.”
In 1999, Forsyth separated from her husband, but they remained friends until his death in 2006. She is survived by their children, Ben and Zoe.
🔔 Brigit Forsyth (Brigit Dorothea Connell), actor, born 28 July 1940; died 1 December 2023

BBC Big Read List
Many years ago, I first started tallying the books from the BBC Big Read list, seeing how my reading and interests correllate. I don't take it as the "one truth" on which books are worth reading or "good", I just find it interesting which ones I agree with. Let's go!

Read: 57 Want to read: 60
Some of the books to read I know very little about except the title and that they're classics, some others I know a lot about (and I even have "Men at Arms" on my TBR pile for when the mood strikes me next). I like reading classics once in a while, but especially older ones I can't read too often, I need to be in the right mood for that style of writing.
The last time I updated this was in 2015 and I had read 44 and wanted to read 72 - so 15 books in 9 years xD Like I said, it's not a challenge or a goal to read all of them, just a convenient way of keeping track of which classics I want to read eventually.

SAFT Recap - A New Form
Today the last episode of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale aired and it really got to me and now I feel really, Really, REALLY SAD!!! Anyway here's a recap of everything that went down...
Picking up where last week ended, Anne ran away and managed to seek help from the fairies to save Shall from Lafall by pretending they had taken her prisoner long enough to distract him so Lusul could retrieve Shall's wing.
Shall and Lafall finally had their battle, but it was very short, especially when they saw Hugh, the Earl of Downing and LOTS of soldiers make their way to the fortress.
Lafall jumped off the building after realizing that Shall had lead the humans to his hideout, but there was no trace of him afterwards. He disappeared.
The fairies all regain the wings Lafall had taken from them and Shall instructs them to runaway while they still have the chance and be free before the humans arrive.
Anne and Shall finally return to Chamber Castle, reunite with their friends and find they have successfully completed all the snow tower confections... 10 days before the Holy Beginnings Festival! However as a special final center piece, everyone decides to create one final large tower at the very top of the church.
Bridget has finally changed her ways, becomes friends with Anne and announces she and Elliot have broken off their engagement. Instead Elliot will be adopted into the Page family, allowing him to become the next Head of the Workshop. (Plus it turns out she has kept Anne's blanket this whole time and it's obvious that Bridget is beginning to fall for Orland! I KNEW IT!)
Anne and Shall discuss the revelation about Shall's royal lineage and relation to the fairy king. Shall won't do anything know, but he admits one day he'll have to figure out what to do when the time comes. Shall also reaffirms his promise that he will stay with Anne and both express how they each want the other to find love and happiness in their lives.
Everyone finally celebrates the Holy Beginnings Festival. Since Anne has successfully restored the Page Workshop, both Hugh and Elliot encourage her to seek out new opportunities as a Silver Sugar Master. Anne begins to consider what the rest of her future has in store and what her next step will be, but no matter what, Shall and Mythril will continue to be by her side.
That was a heck of a finale and I'm sad there's been no announcement for a season 2. Hopefully someday they will return to complete the rest of the story (Plus I'm still gonna collect the rest of the Light Novels once they're out in English)

If there was one thing Bridget Parr could not bear, it was being cooped up indoors on a beautiful day. There were many advantages to being a woman, she had learned over her nearly two-and-a-half decades of experience, such as the power to win over others not only with a pretty smile and hooded glance, but with a sharp mind; however, the freedom that men possessed to go where and do what they pleased at any given moment was rarely afforded to her sex.
Independent and rebellious as she was, Bridget had also learned that it was wise to pick one's battles, which was how she found herself in her aunt's chambers on a beautiful fall afternoon, wincing each time her poorly wielded needle stuck a fingertip. Delicate tasks such as needlepoint had never been her strong suit - as a child, she much preferred running about with her brother to sedentary activity, and as a young woman, she was wont to indulge in all of the pleasures and adventures that court life had to offer. Which brought her back to her aunt.
The needlepoint was tossed to the side with a sigh, instantly forgotten. "Aunt Alice, I do not know how you bear it," Bridget bemoaned dramatically. The elder Parr woman was not in the least bit boring or particularly traditional, but she certainly had more of an affection for appearances than her niece. "Are you not itching for something to do?"

clockwork prince thoughts
-ok i’m so not gonna finish my re-read in time even with audiobooks unless i do literally nothing this weekend- godspeed to all trying to re-read at this point
-i listened to the audiobook for this one which is sad bc it’s my favorite tsc book and probably my one of my top favorites of all time but it’s also nice to listen to. ed westwick who is cancelled but really was the will fancast of the time and they have him do all the will scenes and the poetry quotes between chapters and it’s unfortunately quite good. i also like him reading the magnus chapters. the female narrator gets points for literally singing all of bridget’s irish ballads but loses a few for making charlotte sound like mrs. potts
-i love this fucking book! everyone is kissing everyone everyone is freaking out and the full angst hasn’t set in yet
-you knooooooow i love the charlotte and henry confession scene. i could quote it. those two are it, they’re everything. if they don’t have some semblance of happiness and also twin girls by the end of chain of thorns i s2g...
- “i married you because-because i knew i wouldn't mind how difficult directing this place was, or how badly the clave treated me, if I knew yours would be the last face i saw every night before i went to sleep” why does this part get me the most! how were they so lonely for 4 years! they make me want to sob! it’s enough to just be around each other even though that’s so painful
-cc really put her whole ass into this love triangle. there’s nothing like it never had been never will be, it transcends
-woolsey darling
-the trip to york- everything with aloysius and his granddaughter. i like seeing other institutes. also the fallout of the accords and certain shadowhunter’s reluctance to follow them/ having spoils. the accords are still so new at this point and it’s so interesting to me
- “it was a rare and novel thrill when henry gave orders”
-this is such a good second book
-is cyril in the last hours?? i wonder where he ended up. are mundane servants allowed to work in houses in idris? he should have a little scene
-i looOOooove the brothers lightwood. gideon really is that girlie who studies abroad for 6 months and makes it their whole personality
- charlotte- when she kicks a fucking stone wall in the council chamber ♥ when she has to interrogate jessie with the mortal sword then bursts out in tears ♥ when the hell did she have time to get tessa a new wardrobe ♥ “it’s my plan now” ♥  mother
-sooooo many mentions of the chain of gold/iron/thorns/flowers dickens quote in these books
-nate is the worst so long clown bye bye

Friday 10th March 2023
We had a lazy start to the day combined with an absolutely huge breakfast nicely provided by Mr Mercure Hotels. Leaving empty plates we left the premises not having felt that full since the cruise. We waddled out in the direction of Queens St and the tourist information centre. On route we passed Brisbane City Hall. First noticeable thing was a demonstration whose aims were freedom for Tibet. It was peaceful and vocal. I'm sure their protest is admirable but I was concerned that there were posters with pictures of Xi Jinping with a big red line through him. Maybe this could be interpreted badly. So we popped into the city hall and were just in time to tag onto a free tour of the establishment. It was led by a dead ringer of Bridget Jones! To say she was enthusiastic about her job and the building would be an understatement. She absolutely oozed the stuff. We were unusually allowed on this occasion only to see the basement. And how exciting was that! Well not really but she was excited and that's all that matters. There was a room down there that vulnerable women and children could take refuge in during the 1930s from domestic violence. And a wall where on removing the plaster had quite a lot of signatures left by servicemen from many nationalities who were based there during WWII and there was a recent occasion when a visitor recognised a close relative's mark. Well it's times like this that makes life worthwhile. Hmm. On the first floor was a very nice stained glass window with Conjunctis Viribus which translates Connected Strength. Appropriate for a council chamber I suppose, though not the image more often reported.
We made it eventually to the info place and were advised to take the river cat on a free trip down and back up the Brisbane River. We've done this before but were keen to do it again. It's a great little service proving an excellent way of seeing the city. I think everyone on board the good ship Melany was in fact a tourist. We landed back in South Bank, the original site for Expo 88. The perverse angle I cannot get my head around was that Brisbane wanted to show the world in 1988 Australia and 200 years of history, so they knocked everything down on South Bank to build an exhibition! Australians don't appear to like old buildings.
We made it into the Queensland Art Gallery by the bridge in time to dodge the rain. A huge storm is due in tonight and is predicted to relieve itself of 105mm of the wet stuff. This coast has had a fair bit of this recently. It is in its defence, warm rain. We had a flat white obviously then a little trot around some of the paintings. It really is a great building and frankly it would be worth seeing even if there were no paintings within. When the rain reduced to a drip, we made it over to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre to see if there was a possible play on in the next couple of nights. No luck at present, we have to call in tomorrow for cancellations.
ps Our hotel room looks across the road to the City Hall clock tower. Tomorrow we have a tour booked to climb the tower to look at the clock.

Years: 1302
1302 has been a year of ups and downs. A quiet moment at the lake for Arlen and Dorwina, while the twins were napping. The completion of two portraits - one for the heirs of each generation (0 and 1) of Kennadys so far. Late in the spring, Bridget passed from mortification after walking in on her mother using the chamber pot in their home. She was 15 years old. But even in grief, life continues - only a few months later, Silas and Cassandra were blessed with their first child and heir, named Fergus.
