IDK that I've ever put it in one post before, but here's the transplant speedrun.

1 - Valentines day 2021, he's admitted to the hospital. We take a pre-hospital selfie then I shave his head and he shaves his beard because he doesn't want to deal with hair at the hospital. Me and his mom drop him off; at that point you can only visit someone as they are actually dying and we're told that he's going to stay in the hospital until he gets a transplant or he dies, and if he's rejected as a transplant recipient he'll receive palliative care in this hospital.

2 - First week of March, they allow patients to have one screened visitor; this is our first visit - I take photos in the hospital to show his mom because at this point he has a pump in his shoulder and it is difficult for him to move his arms to use his phone. He has also been confined to a bed since the week he arrived because he's on the ECMO machine, so he can't walk or move around, though they stand him up every once in a while. At one point one of the ecmo tubes pulls out of his femoral artery, which is Not! Great! He also needed a blood transfusion about every two days at that point, which worried the doctors because it increased his likelihood of rejecting. But he had been approved for transplant at that point!

The first thing he said to me on this visit was "look, I have abs" and then he showed me his abs because it turns out when you're really really dying of heart failure your body begins to eat itself.

3 - Now That's What I Call Jaundice (cardiac cirrhosis is liver failure as a result of heart failure and it's pretty much the big giant neon flashing sign of heart failure that says "hey you're fucking dying" so if you've got heart failure and your bilirubin number is off or the whites of your eyes are yellow please kick up a gigantic stink until they check your liver; large bastard's GP, who is my doctor, who I hate, saw his bloodwork with a very high bilirubin number a month before he was diagnosed with cardiac cirrhosis and wrote it off as a testing fluke fuck that guy)

4 - Don't let the sad face fool you, he's acting pathetic so that his mom will stop yelling about the fact that I'm bringing him cookies. He's allowed to have cookies. At that point he weighed 98kg and was outsourcing his heartbeat, he was allowed to eat whatever he wanted. (have i mentioned that I was moving us from Vegas to LA at this time? I was bringing him cookies because I'd baked hundreds of peanut butter cookies and other cookies to use up the flour, sugar, and peanut butter in the vegas house)

5 - Mid-march, he's got a match! He called me when I was in Vegas filling up the truck with another load and I drove right back and to the hospital. Once he went in for surgery I drove to his mom's house and crashed, then woke up and drove to our storage unit and unpacked the truck while I waited to hear from the doctors. I was unloading a bookcase when I got the call. (There wasn't any point in waiting alone in the hospital for sixteen hours; either he was going to make it or he wasn't and someone was going to have to unload the truck at some point. People have been weird about this, like I should have been sitting at his side all the time, but there was a two-hour daily limit for most visits and look i have sat in a waiting room while this dude had a thirteen hour surgery i do not need a repeat of that experience without the soothing balm of nicotine getting me through it; so unloading a truck it was)

6 - Two days after surgery and kind of mad about it. His chest hurt a lot (obviously) but, like, a lot a lot because they'd had to open him up for the bypass just two years earlier.

7 - First walk outside of his room after transplant in early April; he needed a LOT of PT because of how much muscle he'd lost. He lost sixty pounds in the hospital before the surgery, and only gained back about twenty while he was in there.

8 - A visit from the tiny doggo

9 - I come to visit and I've got a new phone with a portrait mode so he steals it and takes stupid pictures for a few minutes. Dude is bored and restless; this is in late april and he's feeling well enough to be moody. ETA: There is a jar of pickles in front of him because he'd been fluid limited for a long time and his salt levels were off and when he got to the hospital they were like "you need electrolytes and a lot of salt" and he was like "sweetheart can you please please please bring me delicious salty things" so I was bringing him jars of pickled mushrooms and garlic stuffed olives and just a huge number of pickles that he kept trying to share with the nurses. "Alli brought the mushrooms again; would you like a pickled mushroom? I have fancy toothpicks to share them with!"

10 - He comes home for the first time in early May; he ends up getting readmitted two more times because of complications before finally being released in early July. ETA: The second time he got readmitted it was for something that he wasn't at all worried about but that they needed to monitor for a couple weeks so he was *SO BORED* and actually feeling pretty okay; so at one point when I was leaving the parking garage at 8pm my car wouldn't start, I did some troubleshooting with the manual and the internet and didn't figure it out, so I called him and he tried to troubleshoot over the phone and got frustrated and was begging his nurses to let him come out to the parking structure to work on my car (they refused) - I ended up getting a tow and fixing it when I replaced the battery terminals.

Also I dyed my hair purple between photos one and two because it's his favorite color. I also bought a blue dress, red tights, and yellow shoes to wear to visit him because he always teases me for wearing so much black.

I just love him a lot. It was a hard couple years there, but things are getting better.

A/N: This is actually an old fic I wrote back in 2021 starring Sephiroth in a Diablo AU that never got posted anywhere. It's an OC/self insert, I hadn't started writing x reader fics at that point. I hope you enjoy it anyway! I wanted to share it because I really like how this one is written!

I wandered into the Slaughtered Calf Inn half awake and starved from my journey to Tristram. The air stank of death; there were rumors a Necromancer had taken up residence in the bowels of the Tristram Cathedral and was tormenting the town with his experiments. I practically collapsed at the bar; the innkeeper approached and slid a pint of beer, some bread and cheese in front of me. I ripped off a piece of bread and ate it.

“Couldn’t have found a worse time to come, traveler. We’ve had a bit of a…” the innkeeper cleared his throat before continuing, “undead problem.”

“That’s why I’m here friend,” I said as I motion to the two hand crossbows strapped to my waist, “I’ve come to alleviate your Necromancer problem.”

“Ay, he showed up about three months ago, cursed thing,” the innkeeper growled as he wiped down the bar, “what are you, some kind of mercenary?”

I shook my head, “I’m a Demon Hunter; I specialize in the slaying of the undead.”

“You’ll want to talk to Leah, she has the key to the Cathedral gate,” the innkeeper said before calling out, “Leah! Someone has come to take care of the Necromancer!”

“Oh! That’s fantastic!” Leah rushed in and approached the bar, “you must be the Demon Hunter!”

“I am,” I hold out my hand to shake hers, “I would have gotten here sooner but there seems to be undead all over the place around here.”

“You can thank the Necromancer for that, that bastard,” Leah groaned as she sat beside me.

I took a sip out of the pint, “what happened when the Necromancer showed up?”

“He murdered my Uncle Deckard, slit his throat right open and then he was revived and turned into one of his puppets right before my eyes. I had just enough time to run out and lock the gate before the whole place was overrun with undead.”

I watched as tears welled up in Leah’s eyes, “I’m so sorry.”

Leah wiped her eyes, “I’m just glad you’re finally here so we can kill that monster.”

“You’re not going anywhere Leah, I’m going to the Cathedral alone.”

Leah looked over and glared at me. When she was met with my cold stare, she let out a sigh and relaxed her shoulders, “I’ll take you to the Cathedral gate and unlock it.”

“Then you’ll come back here.”

“Yes. I’ll come back here.”

“Good, I’m going to retire to one of the rooms and rest up. Leah, would you mind bringing me to the gate tomorrow morning?”

“Sure, I’ll meet you there at sunrise.”

“Alright, see you in the morning then, Leah,” I say as I stand up from the bar and head into one of the rooms.

My sleep was restless; I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching me from the shadows in the room.

Sephiroth poured over the volumes of books that were kept deep in the bowels of the Tristram Cathedral. He had heard about Cain Deckard’s research on the lesser evils and decided to take the old man out in order to gain access to it. The fact that he now had his own large lair to do his experiments was a very nice perk. His jade, cat-like eyes scanned the pages of Deckard’s research, deeply engrossed in the writings. His silver hair, which went well past his knees, seemingly glowed in the low light of the candles in the room. Suddenly, he stood alert, his eyes wide, as if sensing something. His left hand wove in the air and clenched as he held Deckard’s research in his right hand. A pale blue light encompassed his left fist. The light glowed brighter as he stood there. He suddenly spread his fingers and his hand engulfed in a blue flame. 

A few minutes passed and a group of skeletons came into the room, dragging a woman into the room with them. She kicked and thrashed in an attempt to break free, but Sephiroth’s magic was much too powerful for her. Sephiroth slowly turned to the skeletons and the captive intruder. 

His jade eyes scanned her body up and down. Demon Hunter: he knew their kind, however he admittedly had never seen one so beautiful. She had haunting blue eyes, short brown hair that was styled asymmetrically to one side. 

She was thin, but muscular; he could tell she took good care of herself. His eyes lingered on her perky breasts, which bounced gently as she fought the restraint of his skeletal thralls. When his eyes finally met hers, her eyes were filled with hatred and death; he knew if his magic relented that her powerful hands would end up around his throat. He felt a warmth in his loins, something he didn’t think he could ever feel. 

He smirked at the woman, crossing his arms as he continued to watch her struggle.

“Did you seriously think you could just waltz in here and kill me?” Sephiroth asked, his voice cool but sinister.

She spat at him, “you fucking bastard, let me go!”

“I will not,” he purred as he approached her, standing within inches of her, “you intrigue me, Demon Hunter.”

“Are you going to kill me and turn me into one of your puppets?” the woman growled.

“I could do that,” his gaze lingered back to her breasts for a moment before he looked back into her hate filled eyes, “but you’ll be much more entertaining to me alive.”

The hate in her eyes suddenly yielded to fear and she started to struggle more violently, as if sensing what was going to happen to her. Watching her be consumed by fear excited him, he could feel it in his leather trousers. Dropping his arms to his sides before bringing up his left arm, he spreads his fingers on his left hand again, now glowing with a pale blue aura.

“Keep her perfectly still,” he commanded.

The skeletons tightened their grip on the captive girl, holding her still by her arms, torso and legs. Leaning in, Sephiroth takes in her scent by sniffing ever so subtly. She smelled sweet, almost like a wildflower, he wondered why. He felt his cock pulse at her scent, making the confines of his trousers increasingly uncomfortable. 

As if his right hand had a mind of its own, he suddenly grasped one of her breasts. Giving it a gentle squeeze, he was surprised by how soft and supple it was. He then grasped her other breast with his other hand even though it was still pulsing with power. The woman let out a soft whimper as she attempted to squirm, but the skeletons’ iron grip kept her in place. 

Sephiroth’s hands slid from her breasts, down the sides of her body and came to a rest on her hips. He didn’t understand what exactly he was feeling, as he never experienced anything like this. His left hand groped at her toned backside as his right gently grasped her chin and tilted her head back. His lips suddenly met hers and he kissed her gingerly. He could feel her tremble in his grasp as he kissed her. He released her from his grasp, brought his left hand up into a fist as his hand burst into blue flame.

“Bring her to the bedroom and place her onto the bed.”

The skeletons carried her into an adjacent bedroom, Sephiroth followed close behind. He watched as the skeleton thralls gently placed her onto his bed, it pleased him that she didn’t attempt to flee. With a wave of his hand, he dismissed the thralls and they left the room. He closed the door as they left. He watched her intently as she lay on the bed, her legs spread wide as she propped herself up by her elbows. He began to unbutton his loose gray tunic, revealing his pale, but very well toned chest and abdomen. He pulled it off and tossed it aside before approaching the bed.

“Tell me Demon Hunter,” he began as he climbed onto the bed, crawling between her spread legs, “what is your name?”

“It’s… it’s Ash.”

“Ash… the remnants of a flame,” he said as he began to undo her trousers.

He slowly pulled them off, taking care to also remove her boots as well and he pushed them onto the floor. They fall with a loud thud. He gazed in awe at what he saw; Ash’s legs remained spread, her vagina fully exposed to him. It was oozing with juices and she smelled absolutely divine, inviting even. 2021 Month of Writing: Day 18

Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x reader

Elijah glanced up from the book he was reading. It was late. Most people would be asleep by now. Yet someone was knocking at his front door. He tried to figure out who it was by listening to their heartbeat, but it sounded… muddled. The knocks resumed again. They were persistent, but Elijah could hear the weakness in them. He slowly put down his book and went to the door. As he got closer to the door, he noticed a very distinct, familiar smell.

Blood.

Elijah pulled open his door, his eyes quickly finding the figure that stood there. She was bleeding in several spots, her clothes torn as well. Elijah could make out bruises starting to form on her visible skin. Y/N looked up at him. Her eyes were almost glazed over and her body shook.

Elijah opened his mouth, but no words formed. Meanwhile his mind raced with a thousand questions.

Y/N tried to straighten herself, but her legs didn’t seem to want to cooperate. She took a deep breath. She lifted her head to give the appearance of looking at him, but he could tell that she couldn’t.

“I didn’t know… where else… to go…” she breathed.

Suddenly, her eyes shut and her legs failed her, causing her to collapse. Elijah was able to catch her thanks to his vampire speed. He stared down at her, unsure what to do for a moment. 

Y/N was human. One of the only humans to hang out with the Salvatore brothers and their friends, and the cousin of Bonnie Bennett. She wasn’t a constant, but she has been around for many of their trials and was well versed in the supernatural world. Despite being on the “good side,” she was civil with Elijah and his family. Though his mind raced as he tried to figure out why she would show up on his doorstep and not one of her friends’.

Elijah carefully lifted her up, taking her to the living room to try and assess what had happened. He could obviously smell the blood on her body, but he could smell various other things as well. The familiar scent of the Mystic Grill and alcohol, for instance. But it was two other smells that really caught his attention - the faint hint of drugs and men’s cologne. Elijah could feel rage begin to fill him but quickly shoved it down; anger was not something that was needed in this moment. He had to make sure he was okay.

He pulled out his phone and lifted it to his ear. It rang for several moments before the line got picked up.

“Hello?” She sounded as if she had just been asleep.

“Miss Bennett, I’m sorry for calling so late, but I’m afraid I need to ask you something important.”

“Elijah? Yeah… what’s going on?”

“Do you have any idea where Y/N was tonight?”

“Y/N? Did something happen?”

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Do you know where she was? Was she with anyone?”

“Not to my knowledge. I think she said she was going to be going to the Grill for a drink, maybe to meet someone, but that was a couple hours ago. Elijah, is she okay?”

“I think it would be best if you came here. I might need your help.”

“Okay. I’ll be over soon.”

“Thank you.” He paused. “Miss Bennett, for now, I believe it best that we leave the rest of your friends out of this. At least until we know what to do. And please bring a change of clothes for Y/N.”

Elijah hung up and looked back down at Y/N. He knelt down, gently taking her arm in hand to observe the markings there. Her wrist was bruised and there was some dried blood under her fingernails. Elijah fought with himself as he tried to figure out what to do. He wanted to go out and hunt down the bastard that did this to her, but he knew he needed to stay with her to make sure she was okay. 

Within fifteen minutes, there was another knock at the door. Elijah went to open it, smiling tightly at the Bennett witch.

“Thank you for coming,” he said to her.

Bonnie nodded. He knew she was nervous about being alone with an original, but he also knew her first concern would be for Y/N.

“Where is she?”

“This way.”

When Bonnie finally saw her cousin, Elijah could hear her heart stutter. The witch ran to her ride.

“What happened?” she asked, her voice layered with several different emotions.

“From what I can gather, she was drugged. Based on the state of her clothes and the markings on her arms, I’d say she tried to fight whoever did this, possibly from doing something unsavory.”

“Why haven’t you tried to heal her yet?”

“Because I am familiar with how the law works, Miss Bennett. If we can document what happened first, then I can heal her. With the traces of blood left over, perhaps you can use your magic to locate her attacker, who I will then gladly deliver to Sheriff Forbes.” He pulled his gaze away from Y/N to look at Bonnie. “What do you say?”

Y/N was dragged from unconsciousness by the sound of a door shutting. She opened her eyes, but was confused when she didn’t recognize where she was. She couldn’t remember how she got there. She glanced around quickly, trying to get any sense of where she was.

“You’re awake,” a voice said.

Y/N looked to the large doorway and sighed in relief.

“Elijah,” she breathed. “Where am I?”

“My home. You came here last night.”

“I did?” She ran a hand through her hair. “I remember going to the Grill and getting a drink, but… not much after that. What happened?”

He slowly approached.

“You were drugged.” She looked at him in shock. “You escaped and came here. I gave you some of my blood and Bonnie brought you fresh clothes. She’s in one of the guest rooms now.”

Y/N nodded slowly, processing his words. She looked at him, noticing that his clothes were spotted with red.

“Did you find them?” she asked.

“He’s not dead,” Elijah offered. “Bonnie and I collected what evidence we could before taking care of you. She used a locator spell and I delivered him to the Sheriff. I told her that we would stop by later to give your statement.”

“Thank you,” Y/N said after a minute. “You didn’t have to.”

“Yes, I did.” She looked at him. “You came to me. You could have gone to any one of your friends, but you came here instead. You trusted me. I had to do something.”

Y/N smiled weakly. She slowly got up and Elijah moved closer to ensure she didn’t lose her balance. She surprised him by wrapping her arms around him. It took him a moment, but he lifted his own arms to return her hug.

“Thank you,” she whispered.

Hii! I was wondering if you’ve ever ranked the Wrong Turn movies yourself? I don’t really count the 2021 reboot cuz it doesn’t have the boys in it, but if you want to count that one you gladly do it. Also if you’ve already ranked them that’s fine and you don’t have to do it again if you don’t want to.

Promise you my dear, that 2021 movie wont be ever ranked in with the Wrong Turn franchise, I don't recognize it as part of the series either lol. But! I will do two rankings, my personal and a non-bias one Personally: 4, 2, 1, 5, 3 and 6 are my Best to Worse. I adore the 4th film, it's my favourite, my comfort movie, my baby, also its the one with the best looking One-Eye, cute as FUCK in that movie.. 2nd is also a fave, love it so much and how it brings in the new side of the family, 1st if a classic, it's the original but I do enjoy fun over seriousness, so the 2nd goes above it. Now with the not-so great side of the films, I enjoyed the 5th with its story and how they handled it as an inbetweener for the 4th and 1st films as well as enjoyed the fun kills but that's all. I'm not a fan of how they handled the characterization of my boys or Maynard, nor the designs of them it truly looked like they didn't put a lot of heart into it. The 3rd is okay and the kills cool, but it felt very bland and flat, hated the story, hated the protags, hated that Three-Toes didn't last long and it just sucked. I hate the 6th film all together, hate the designs, hate the new villains, hate the story, hate the acting, felt the kills were boring, I'd tear it up and re-do it completely if I could. Apologies to fans of this one, but it really sucks its the only horror movie I've ever skipped scenes in and I've watched some real fucking shit-ass low-budget snoozers of some horrors all the way through. The (attempted) non-bias: 1,2,4,5,3,6. The 1st is a classic, it is what brought us the Wrong Turn films and out of every one of them its the most realistic is design and story, it is simply more real in the looks of the brothers, how they are as people and the story of it all, which is what makes it scary cause they were not originally mutants with special healing and strength qualities, just really violent cannibalistic hillbilly-bastard men that could have been inbred (them being inbred is more solidified in the 2nd movie) Its simple and gritty, it stands on its own and really would be fine without the other movies which is why its S tier. The 2nd, is were it broadens the families story out more, though doesn't explain everything as there still needs to be mystery to this family, but it does bring more characters that are family members and I love that it's natural! This is where the 6th WT movie and also where some other horror movies fail when bringing in new family characters when it comes to sequels or prequels where new family members fuck up the dynamic or just make zero sense on where they relate to the original films. The 2nd film is also where it brings the more comedy side of Wrong Turn, but doesn't come off entirely strong so its easier to ease into. It also is the one that brought more lore with how they're related via incest, the involvement of Maynard as well as brought in new lore such as the idea of mutation and that they can take more damage and have more strength to them. The 4th is where we return back to the three brothers and delve into their history more, this is actually where we get a more solid idea of their ages and personalities, the three brother become fleshed out more and really feels like the movie is more about them than their victims we're supposed to be following. It's definitely the one that brought the comedy out the most and made it enjoyable, the new designs on the brothers are also still very nice though they lost their realistic-ness features it is happily not distractible and still appealing. It still has amazing kills, happily does not lack in that creativity, really a good place to find out more lore and it fits nicely in the story line as a beginning.

The 5th is a mix of good and bad, with being the inbetweener of the 4th and 1st film, it filled in the blanks of how the boys got where they are a really good idea, the story is pretty solid and can be seen as fun, it only fails in the design and handling of the characters, with most the victims being bland and boring, though some more interesting than others (the old drunk man and cop lady) but they went a different route in how the three brothers were as characters, in both looks and personalities, as well as how Maynard is in personality and character which is very different from the past films. But the cannibals change personalities is all it failed in, other than that it is a good fun movie with good deaths and a solid lore story that relates from the steps of 4-5-1-2-3. The 3rd, though meant to be the "ending" of the Hillikers/Odets family, leaving an opening of 'mystery cannibal?' at the end. It does have some really nice kills, very creative but that is where it ends. The main idea of the story, though is an idea is one that feels out of place, uninteresting and at times even frustrating. The designs have become more poorly, though is not the worse of the films, it is more a movie that doesn't give a satisfying end and at times loses your interest. It does relate to the 2nd film with having connections, so it does well with keeping up with lore.

The 6th is difficult, since it doesn't fit anywhere realistically or naturally with the 1-5 lore. The acting is poorly, the designs of the brothers are horrendous and the characteristics of the main three boys are the most different and out of place of all the films, it brings in a cult-like lore that doesn't relate nor add up to the original stories, the deaths are okay but nothing entirely creative or fun like its predecessors, neither the new killers or victims are likable or memorable.

Omg Dae Gil, Dae Gil, Dae Gil. SEX ON LEGS. THE END. I may have been even more shameless in thirsting over Wolf Boy than I was with Xiao Qi. Why isn't he number 1 then? I’m sure he has an actual name but I don’t know it because he’s always been Hot Banker to me.  I’ve been to many banks, seen many bankers, and never in my life have I ever seen one as hot as Hot Banker. Talk about setting unrealistic expectations. Ooooof I love his one track mindedness in his love for his bride and never stopping until he gets her back...IT FEEDS MY SOUL.  He also works out a lot and the drama makers were kind enough to show us his work out routine onscreen and bless them for that.

7. Ji Sung as Kang Yohan in The Devil Judge

Gay daddy Rochester does modern vengeance kdrama all while looking fucking hot and brooding in suits and loose blouses. Ji Sung is so daddy in this role, the state is looking for him to pay child support.

8. William Chan as hot masochist shifu in novoland pearl eclipse

Pictures don’t do him justice, his entire vibe as this character is so hot to me. You know you’re hot when you can make this monstrous bleach blond look sexy. I think Uc Kurus was my first foray into Turkish shows (it’s either this or Destan) and it was all because of Kartal. And I imagine at some point in the conversation you finally slip up. "I mean I know all relationships have difficulties but Alastor just-"

From c!Karl's message being the thing to snap him out of his stupor, to the sheer panic in his voice, to his declaration that he indeed wants power but never at anyone or anything else's behest, to him desperately trying to reason with c!Bad, to his insistence that they can use the Egg for good (???)... GOD it makes my brain do jumping jacks

4. Okay. We all know about c!Schlatt's funeral. We all know about the cannibalism. And I almost put that here, too (so consider it an honorable mention). But I don't think enough attention is paid to him trying to bring Schlatt to life for "political reasons" immediately afterward. Oh, this little bastard and his complicated grieving processes...

3. I could honestly fill this whole list with only scenes from the Manberg arc, but I'll highlight Plan Ass specifically as an S-tier c!Quackity moment. He went back to negotiate with and swindle the man he was scared would kill him (while allegedly pregnant with his child!) all to dissuade c!Wilbur from sending the country he loved up in flames...

2. Much like Manberg, all of Doomsday could go here (for him, at least. My feelings about the event itself are... somewhat more ambivalent). Him singing the anthem and remembering the second verse, him asking c!Niki what's wrong and trying to persuade her to help, his incandescent hatred for c!Dream, "SaPnAp HoLd Me I'm ScArEd..."

But my favorite part without a doubt is his pre-battle turnaround. Man was so close to getting the hell outta dodge, but he was persuaded to return by the words of someone he wanted to execute only 24 hours prior. Then, he spent half the battle trying to return the book. And THEN, after all was said and done, he reached out to that person as a possible ally. Where are my boober friends to talk about this with me PLEASE-

i'm curious now. what is the darkest fic you have written

hmm.... well, only issue there is that i've compiled a list of 22+ fics i've written that could compete for the title, so i can't tell you one for certain. and of course, that answer might change depending on what element of darkness/horror scares you the most.

(INCOMING: long musings and thoughts abt darkness and horror in fics below, plus references and direct dialogue from GRAPHIC, unhappy, angsty stories. if reading about mario characters in distress makes you sad, please don't read. please, oh please, proceed with caution if you keep reading...)

i think something about horror that is so interesting is how differently some people approach it.

does gore squick you out the most? how about manipulation? psychological torment? jumpscares? horrifying implications? betrayal? alien lifeforms? body horror? there are so many facets to horror, and something one person might find fascinating, another might find appalling, and vice versa.

it's also what i think makes horror so compelling to explore in a fictional setting: emphasizing our inherent human fears into something fantastical and horrific, something to make us squirm in our seats.

for example, in everyday life, we might feel betrayed if a friend talks behind our back, but what happens if we amplify those feelings tenfold? as such, i've written a sum of stories that primarily center around manipulation, psychological torment, and the aftermath of betrayal. for me, i've always found those stories the scariest, whether in my writing or in popular media.

"How could you let this happen?" Luigi's words came first upon the realization, screaming as though someone else were in control of his voice. Hot tears streamed down his face, the anguished man wailing and sobbing, feeling nothing but the overwhelming need to hurt someone: to somehow find a way to make someone pay and avenge the mistake that had been made. there's also horrifying implications. i love to mess around with universes and worlds where things are uncanny, or plain wrong. perhaps a rift in the universe has left everything out of sorts?

or, more specifically, someone has been trying to create clones of you after murdering you in an act of desperate passion, but they keep falling and all of the clones resent their misguided creator... hahaaa..

He wanted to make another right then and there, but he couldn’t bring himself to. He wanted to tear his hands off and banish his dreaded ability of creation. He wished he couldn’t do this anymore. He sat there, alone, drowning in guilt as he sobbed loudly. Any bastardized copy wouldn’t suffice, no matter what he tried.

He jumped a bit, nearly slipping on the mystery residue at his feet. As soon as his vision got adjusted with the darkness, he fought the urge to scream in terror. If it weren’t for the fact that the other person across from him were upside down, and that their jaw was lopsided from their face, he would have sworn he was looking into a mirror. He was gazing right into a pair of dead, soulless eyes. And they were his own. --2020 [same fic as above]

manipulation? torment? why not.

and, based on people's impressions to FYE, at least, angst always lends itself well to horror, doesn't it? regret? grief? people being scared and sad together? it's a most deadly combination.

He damned the jester as he sat alone in the claustrophobic space with only Peasley’s rotting corpse as his company, wishing for death as the stench of spoiling fibrous flesh filled his nose. He sniffled, beginning to sob, fidgeting ever so slightly as he thought about how if he had only been stronger, only been quicker, this could have been different. They could have escaped the clutch of the void's songbird call. And he could have saved his beloved husband's life. --2021

and of course... gore. gore is pretty self-explanatory.

With a final sickening crunch and tear, the prince's neck was sliced clean off his shoulders, rolling away from the rest of his body with an unceremonious thud. --2018

With his caught in between the descending platform and the ground, there was no stopping what came next. With a sickening crunch, it pressed down, hard. It pulverized his arm beyond dust: gore and blood pooling from the spot as he screamed in anguish. Shock made him go numb. His vision was hazy. --2020

'starland', which is on my ao3, was actually going to be far more gorey than fye. but, alas, i lost the muse for that one. maybe someday, it will be continued...

and there's been many other generally dark stories as well. to provide just an inkling of context, i've written many before and after fye about dimentio being a general awful person to luigi and others, killing and torture abound. i've written a lot about super dimentio too! they're a really fun fusion to analyze. side fun fact: if you've read 'love like you' on my ao3, i have written a 'bad end' version of that... for full angst potential, you know.

i've also written plenty other "horror movie" versions of the mario franchise too. if you see fye as the "saw" of the mario universe, then i have others for various different franchises. i also have one piranha plant gijinka i made in 2018 who is an actual menace to society. whatever page he graces, he creates a mind-bending squickfest full of viscera. i know i have made various people sick with the fics i feature him in.

but to answer your question, my personal pick for my darkest fic is one i have is called 'tender', written in late 2021 — which was a working title as some point, but now it has stuck. while not very gorey, it is very heavy on the psychological torture and torment that scares me (personally) the most. in addition, it is one i will always only keep between me and my innermost circle of trusted comrades. the reason why? well, i actually haven't really written a darkfic since then, because i thought after finishing, "i've done it. i've written the darkest fic known to man" and thought there was no way i could possibly outdo myself. and since then, i have not been able to! makes my tummy twist just thinking about it. true horror there, that one.

context for these dialogue pieces? context for the fics i've alluded to? no....... you will simply have to draw your own conclusions... mwahahahah!!!!!!

It's time to talk about this guy, oh yeah, one of the weirdest characters I've ever created, and also one of the oldest.

Dating back to the dawn of time, A.K.A, 2021, Hector Damon was the result of an angsty bastard of a person just trying to see how edgy she could make a character before just blatantly making Satan incarnate.

Hector is the result of a Dream and Anchor Dreamer being charged with Negative energy and being manifested onto Craftworld by complete accident, and explains why he shows the traits he does.

Hector is an alcoholic, how that's even possible in the Imagisphere I still have yet to figure out, and he's also just every bad trait you could give to someone.

I made a joke a while back where I created a character info sheet for him, but didn't take anything seriously so I ended up leaving the friends field blank and replaced the gender field with 'Epic'.

I really didn't know what to do with the character after a while, and I had an idea at one point that he would: 'Find his calling' and become a fancy pants painter, but obviously that plan makes almost no sense and isn't interesting.

So, what to do with a character that is disliked by the entire world and also doesn't have anything interesting going on?

Give him Trauma.

Yes, I gave him Trauma.

Now, it's more like Hector just does whatever because he thinks that he's useless, and he's trying to figure out his purpose in life. Kind of like he didn't want to exist but is now stuck with having to stay alive.

That's when some random event sends him to a Dimension of Craftworld where everything is fucked beyond belief, and he has to navigate through this world slowly gaining emotion and empathy for others surrounding him.

All of this happens in Dimension of Perfection, my story on Wattpad, and I know that I keep bringing it up but I spent way too long on it for it to be forgotten.

I won't spoil what happens at the end, for obvious reasons, but I'm excited to continue with it.

Hector only really has enemies, when it comes to the main friend group I focus on, and he seems to think that he's part of it despite being told several times by Don and Avalon to piss off.

Also, I've been experimenting of the idea of making him Non-Binary, to add to the already lack-lustre list of 2 characters, but the fact that I've possibly misgendered him 20 times might tell you that I didn't stick with that.

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Masky isn't affectionate, he rarely is. The most affection you get from him on a daily basis is a bunch of smoke to the face.

If he's stressed out or mad just leave him be. He'll just go out to smoke for a while and come back in before forcing you to go to sleep with him.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Really messy, to the point the victim is unrecognizable.

He'll bring you a long when he does it, just for to witness their slow and gruesome death. He'd tie you a chair and force you to watch, and if you close your eyes, he's slap you across the face.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

This fucking bastard. He'd be so full of himself and mock you until you cry, and then he'd grab your face and twirl his finger in a strand of you hair, saying that you look cute when you cry, and you should do it more often.

He doesn't really keep you a certain place all the time. He tends to drag you with him with a collar and leash, literally.

He forces you to wear a collar with the words 'BITCH' on it before attaching a leash to it. It's a form of humiliation that he finds adorable, and he says that your his bitch, and no one else's.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

Helping him with work. He'll force you to file sort, which is going to be super traumatic. And when you break down into tears, he'll yank you by your collar and put out a cigarette on you collar bone, smirking as you cry out in pain. Then he'd kick you and say to go back to work.

He'll force you to torture people Proxies need information about and will force you to befriend said person and lead them to the Proxies. Don't try getting help either, Masky is forcing you to keep that collar on, and the collar has a camera in it. So if you try to get help, Masky will send electricity, shocking you instantly.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

Not much. Masky has a lot of anxiety so he'd probably have anxiety attacks often. So uh, stay far away from him.

When he has these attacks you mainly just watch, and if you try to help or get close, he's going to attack you.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

Amused. He likes a challenge, breaking you and making you his mindless bitch would be a lot more entertaining and stress relieving.

He'd manipulate you into thinking you're weak, and you'll be nothing without him. He'll also say that nobody would believe you, so just sit there and let him do what he wants with you, life will be easier if you just listen.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

The rush he'd get would be terrifying, but he'd most likely have an anxiety attack, and only calm down once his mask is on.

He'd run through the woods like a mad man, calling your name in a sweet yet sinister tone.

When he gets you back, he'll have you tied to his bed while he's on top of you, him mocking your vulnerable state while he forces you to kiss him while you cry. He'll bring his hand into you shirt and grope you.

You won't be able to walk the next free days, mainly because your sore and you're scared to walk near him.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

His manipulation and sexual abuse speak wonders.

EJ isn't overly affectionate. If you don't want to cuddle him, he normally wouldn't care. But if he's stressed or just really touch starved, he'll cuddle you, even if you try attacking him.

If you're a very affectionate person then he won't care, just don't touch his mask unless you want a very agressive EJ.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Anyone who hurts you is just food to him. You'll hear their screams late at night as you try to go to sleep.

In the morning when you wake up, a new kidney jar would be in the room, and a lot with a very bloody, mask less EJ.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

He'd treat you decently. Since he's a demon he doesn't know much about proper nutrition for humans, so expect to be eating organs for a while. And if you don't eat it he'll force you to until you make him understand human nutrition.

Man can be low-key lazy. So expect him to just stare you are he lies down on his bed.

He's keeping you chained to his bed. Your ankle will be chained to the end of his bed, so walking around is almost impossible.

He's pretty quiet so don't expect much words from this man. He'll just stare at you and make sure you don't do anything stupid, because he doesn't want to break your wrist again, it was too much of a hassle.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

He respects your boundaries for the most part, and he's by far one of the most open minded ones, but I can see him being apathetic at times so he may force you to do things and not care if you cry.

He'll force you to help him find prey and lead them to the forest. It's pretty gruesome seeing him someone alive, their screams echoing throughout the forest. If you try to stop him he'll stop and stare at you, before pouncing onto you and wiping blood on your cheek, before one of his tongues kicks the blood off. It's a silent warning and it's enough to get the point across. No matter how hard you try, this man won't change for you. You either love him for the way he is or not love him at all.

When he's with you he's mainly a couch potato, but he's still extremely aware and will break you arm if you try anything funny.

He's not going to expose much to you, the most you see of him is him being insecure about his face whenever his mask is off, but he mainly does it when you're asleep.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

He doesn't want to deal with him. He's going to tie you on his medical table and let you choose which organ he'll be taking out.

EJ won't take important organs like your heart, but he'll take like, one of your kidneys, and boy does he love them.

He's tried manipulating you into giving him one of your organs, most of the time it works since he mainly uses blackmail and threats, but if that doesn't work he'll be in a bad mood and not feed you that day.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

He'd realize your gone when Ben tells him he saw someone running from outside the manor on the cameras. He'd tell Ben to find you and he'd agree.

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Since Toby didn't come from the best home life, having an extremely Abusive father and his mother being mentally ill, I don't think he got much affection when he was growing up, so I can see him being extremely touch starved.

He finds a lot of comfort in you and you help him relieve any stress and worry he has, you make him feel normal.

He'll hug you from behind and force you to cuddle him You don't want to get your fingers to get chopped off, now would you?

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Since he's a serial killer and one of Slenderman's proxies, I can see him being pretty clean with his killings, but he can get sloppy at times, but that's fine! They tried to take you away from him! They don't deserve to have a quick and painless death. Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

He'd be a rollercoaster of emotions. He tries, he really does, but he's sadistic and doesn't have that well of control over his emotions.

He'd keep you chained to a wall in his room in the manor and forbid you from leaving his room. Since Slenderman said he can keep you as long as you weren't a distraction and you behaved, so you're staying locked in his room.

He would mock you about how pathetic you are and how easy it was to get you, before immediately changing emotions and asking if you were ok and checking if you had any cuts or bruises, just in a case he hit you too hard.

He'd get you books to keep you entertained and if you're good he'll let you use his TV or get you a sketch book or journal for you to draw and write in. Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

A lot of forced affection, he doesn't respect your boundaries at all.

Since he has really bad mood swings, he will definitely make you do some messed up shit, like behead a baby deer or force you to kill one of his many victims.

I can see him threatening to force himself onto you when you really piss him off, but those are normally empty promises, but he'll only do it if you escape, try to ask for help, mess up his room or when you're asleep, they do say fear is the best motivator.

He'll force you to dispose the bodies of his victims, and then kiss you and run his fingers through your hair, telling you that you're a monster just like him, and that you belong to him... And only him...

He's not naive or delusional, he knows what he's doing is wrong, but he just doesn't care enough to let him effect him.

He'll only give you surface level an never open up to you until you gain his trust, which will take years!

He'll give you lots of physical affection and due to his mood swings, he'll get violent really quickly.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

He'd find it amusing at first, calling you cute that you think you can actually do something, before he immediately gets angry and pins you down, stepping on your back as he tics, trying to understand and process why you'd even think that you're little plan would work, HE'S TRYING TO PROTECT! SEE IT! JUST SEE IT!

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

No, no this is not a game to this man. He'd come back from a mission he was assigned and just want to lay down and cuddle you to his hearts content, but when he opened his bedroom door and saw you weren't in your chains, he lost it.

He'd slam his door shut, breaking it off it's frame, he'd tic and curse under his breath as he walks down the long hallways of the manor. He'd check every room, door and closet in the entire place, even checking Masky and Hoodie's rooms just in case they were hiding you.

Once he see you're not in the manor he's running outside and into the forest, hatchets in hand as he runs through the forest like a mad man.

He'd find you at a camping sight with a few people helping you out. He'd tic and he walked closer, anger consuming his entire body as he throws one of his hatchets, beheading one of the campers. He kill every single one of those campers until he and you are covered in blood.

He'd go up to you and pin you down, his hands around your throat as he cusses you out, calling you a bitch and that you're an ungrateful whore he took pity on and that you're nothing but a toy to him. He'd knock you out and take you back to the manor, the punishment you'll be receiving will be worse than death.

Ugh, where to start? Your whole relationship with these three happened because Toby had a major crush on you because you showed him kindness.

Toby would talk about you all the time and talk about how he'd love to have you as his boyfriend/girlfriend, and how he had the perfect plan to get with you. Tim didn't care much until Brian got interested, much to Toby's dismay.

Toby would invite you to a party just to hang out with you, and you fell for him so easily. Toby would probably drug you and fuck you in a random room in the host's house.

Brian started talking to you and he slowly started to see why Toby liked you so much. Brian would give you gifts and other stuff just for you to like him.

But don't let their kindness full you, they're just trying to give you an image of what they want you to think of them. So once you're actually dating them, you're trapped.

Tim just harrased you every day, he didn't even try to get you to like him. If you're dating Toby or Brian you're gonna be stuck with him.

Once you started dating Toby everything went down hill from there. You saw Toby's true nature and it scared you. He took his anger out on you and force you to do things you didn't want to do. He'd drag you to parties just because it was easier for him to be more intimate with you when you're drunk or high.

Now add Brian and Tim into the mix and you're begging for chaos.

You'll have to deal with the trauma of seeing the dead bodies of strangers and live with the guilt of being forbidden from telling anyone. Tim will literally turn you into a monster like them, forcing you to bully people and commit crimes just in order to blackmail you into staying with them.

Brian is a stalker no doubt about it. He's followed you home and watch you sleep. He has a 7 hour long recording of you sleeping, and he showed you because you said that you were going to change schools if they didn't stop what they were doing.

Toby is extremely touch starved, and suprisingly he abuses you the most often because he's always at your house. His house doesn't make him feel safe and your parents let's him stay in the house for days until he's ready to go back. At night or when your parents are out he'll come into your room and sit on your lap, asking what his cute little boyfriend/girlfriend was doing. He'll just sit there and cuddle you until he gets bored. He tends to lash out at you and beat you, but when he gets his senses back he's begging for your forgiveness while hugging you. He doesn't mean to hurt you! He just can't help it and seeing you in pain is such a turn on for him.

So yeah! Don't date them. Like, ever.

You were new, everyone could tell. You were young, just graduating and this being your first real job.

One of the security guards was showing you around the Asylum. The asylum had 5 floors. Floor 1 held the least dangerous patients, while floor 5 held the most dangerous.

Since the Asylum knew how good you were, since you were recommended by the college you went to, you'll be working on the 5th floor. The security guard was hesitant as they unlocked the doors of the 5th floor, as you walked down the hallways you glanced at the paitents in the rooms. One was a black and white clown with a pointy nose, the smile he gave you sent shivers down your spine, another was a boy that looked similar to Link, he just stared at you. The security guard turned back around and began to walk down to the doors.

"So uh, who will be the patients I'll be working with?" You asked nervously.

"3."

"Who are those three."

"The head of this floor, Miss. Gullermary, will give you their folders. Go to her office, it's on the 1st floor."

You nodded as you walked down the stairs. The Asylum was loud. There were screams, cries, laughter and groans all over the place, not to mention the place was filthy.

Once you were on the first floor, you walked towards that had ' Miss Gullermary' on it. You knocked and only went in when you heard a ' come in'.

"Hello Miss Gullermary."

"Hello, you're Y/N L/N, correct?"

"Yes, it's a pleasure to-"

"Enough with the politeness. If you keep that attitude those level 5 paitents will eat you up and spit you out! Now an I making myself clear?!" Miss Gullermary asked, slamming her fist down on her desk.

"Y-Yes M-Ma'am..."

"The level 5 paitents know your fresh meat, news spreads like wild fire in this place. Here are your paitents folders."

You took the folders from Miss Gullermary's hands before opening the first one.

"Name: Timothy Wright.

Age: [Redacted]

Date Of Birth: [Unknown]

Disorders: Insanity, Extreme Anxiety

hi. i feel that newer armys—and by ‘newer�� i mean those who became armys post-2018—don’t know exactly what’s going on with the whole enlistment stuff so im going to break it down for you. this might be a bit too long so i apologize in advance, but please note that this all started back in 2018.

so back when BTS started blowing up in the west in 2017—which we dubbed as ‘the DNA era’—SK started ‘noticing’ BTS, in some way (im not talking about korean armys. im talking the SK general public). naturally, this made the whole kpop industry ‘held their breath’ and waited to see if BTS’ blowing up there was a mere fluke (and so did the boys themselves, because later on during MAMA 2018 AND in their docu-series Break the Silence, they revealed how during the period between the LY: Her and LY: Tear, they got so overwhelmed and didn’t know how to go on with their newfound fame, so they thought the LY: Her was their peak and they briefly considered disbandment. their song Outro: Tear was their almost-disbandment song where they rapped about how parting ways would destroy them, according to yoongi in Break the Silence).

turns out it WASNT a fluke because later on when they released the LY: Tear, it debuted at #1 on the billboard 200 and Fake Love landed at #10 on the Hot100. this caused a huge uproar in SK that even the biggest tv networks in SK reported on it—one of them was SBS and they even invited BTS in to talk about it in an exclusive interview, because BTS were the first Asian act to achieve this feat.

now, that moment was both of triumph and of the start of BTS’ years-long stress because entertainment companies (SM, JYP, YG, FNC, JellyFish) in SK started looking at BTS’ success as a way to lobby military exemption for their own idols. to put it harshly, they rode on BTS’ success for their own gain. they held a meeting with the Korea Management Federation in 2018 to discuss this WITHOUT THE PRESENCE OF BIGHIT OR BTS. used their name and everything, and even yoongi talked about this in What Do You Think (“woo woo, we’ll go serve in the military when the time comes. i hope all those bastards who tried to get a free ride by selling our names shut their mouths up”). basically that meeting went like this: “hey look, BTS blew up in the west! see, kpop is bringing prestige to South Korea!! so military exemption for idols, please? 🥺”

(now y’all know why armys are so prickly about BTS’ success being considered a win for the whole of kpop.)

and so that 2018 meeting started the 4-year long torture for BTS where the government kept dangling the POSSIBILITY of exemption—and BTS never even asked for exemption in the first place. never even attended ANY ensuing meetings held by the SK government and those companies after that first meeting where they KEPT using BTS’ name and success to push for exemption.

and then in 2021, the government allowed BTS to POSTPONE their enlistment until the age of 30 because BTS were holders of the Order of Cultural Merit (awarded to them back in 2018 for their outstanding achievement in art and culture, and please note that BTS are the YOUNGEST recipients of this order of merit because all the other recipients are in their 50s or 60s). this caused TWENTY SIX (including SM, JYP, YG, Pledis, Kakao, Naver) entertainment companies to file ‘complaint’. essentially the complaint went “tHaTs nOt fAiR!!1!1!!1 nOnE oF oUr iDoLs aRe rECiPiEnTs oF aNy oRdEr oF mERiT!!1!1! dOnT yOu tHiNk yALL aRe a BiT tOo hArSh?? pLeAsE LoWeR tHe sTaNdArD fOr pOsTpOnEmEnT 🥺”.

(i mean that’s what you get for trying to lobby exemption for your own idols by using BTS’ name because of course the government would use BTS’ achievements as the standard/criteria like… what did you expect 😭😭)

but anyway. yeah. even after that postponement, the SK government kept having ‘meetings’ for BTS’ possible exemption—which let me reiterate, BTS NEVER ASKED FOR EXEMPTION IN THE FIRST PLACE. essentially the SK government kept going “oh to exempt or to not exempt you… that is the question :)” . president moon even kept using BTS for political shit like mentioning them to foreign dignitaries to form political alliances, giving them diplomatic passports, etc.

of fucking course this was fucking with BTS’ heads, and essentially just derailing all of the boys’ plans because of this uncertainty looming over. would they get exempted, or not? that’s why during PTD in Vegas, hybe finally put their foot down and basically went “hey you fuckers just be done with it already and stop playing with BTS. exemption or not?”

but nothing. still nothing, and THEN president moon is gone without any of this solved. and now we have this new alt-right president who’s a raging incel and hates women and disabled folks.

my guess is that if exemption or any form of compromise had been granted during president moon’s administration, BTS PROBABLY would have taken it. but since this new president essentially represents EVERYTHING the boys stand up AGAINST, this is why the boys took matters into their own hands and decided to enlist (SEPARATELY too at that) instead before the SK government was able to announce their decision regarding exemption (which would have been at the end of October). because if they went to enlist all at the same time, this new president would try to push the boys to do group activities for the SK government (like the Busan show. that whole thing was a shitshow because Busan refused to pay a single penny so everything fell on hybe and bts but that’s a whole ‘nother convo) DURING THEIR CONSCRIPTION. remember: YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE MONEY DURING CONSCRIPTION, therefore all profits would go to SK and SK alone; none of them into the boys’ own pockets. enlisting separately is a smart move on their part.

BTS are not anyone’s puppets. they know their worth, they know who they are, they know what they stand up for. and they’ve had ENOUGH. and they’re always ten steps ahead—as evidenced by them suddenly announcing to enlist separately instead of waiting for their decision to be made for them.

First impression: "ok so this Primo guy is associated with two other guys and one of them is like??? really short??? ok. wait what the fuck do you mean theyre all the same guy hello--"

Impression now: LITTLE FUCKER OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! god i love lester so much I love when a yugioh character is just some tiny bastard he's a PERMANENT 12 YEAR OLD he wears ROLLER SKATES FULL TIME he SKATEBOARDS he's RUDE AND MEAN TO EVERYONE his little cackle in his sub voice is DELIGHTFUL. top favorites forever. He is also agonizingly sad and if I think too hard about him I feel unwell.

Favorite moment: Thinking about when Primo loses in the WRGP and Lester starts shrieking at him about how he fucked up the plan and Primo just tells him to stop complaining/stop being petulant and Lester starts LITERALLY SHAKING WITH ABSOLUTE RAGE. THEY WERE HAVING A SHOVING MATCH IMMEDIATELY OFF SCREEN I JUST KNOW IT.

Idea for a story: something about Lester when he was first brought online. What that could have felt like. What would have happened if the implied Mental Blocks That Seal Off the Emperor's Memories weren't active when he first got turned on. Many potential for let's Be Kind of Emo About Lester moments.

Favorite relationship: Lester and Primo's dynamic is genuinely one of my favorite platonic yugioh character relationships, I need to talk more on it sometime. They really brotherpilled those two androids as hard as they possibly could and it makes me explode. Primo stole his card so Lester really just rips his whole deck out of his beat to shit torso. Unhinged Middle Schooler vs. Unhinged 19 Year Old.

Favorite headcanon: bird autism, can do So Many Skateboard Tricks, would pick up bugs and garbage and other shit off the ground and throw them at Primo. Very protective of his hair and knows a bunch of braids and styles. Is absolutely Fucking Terrified of Jakob but will not admit this. Bites. Hard.

First impression: during his DL event back in 2021 I really was just like "idrk what's going on here with this like. weird 5Ds villain overlord guy. He's got a robot army I guess??? ok. is he like... 30? what is this shit about bees what the hell."

I also rly love the bit when he's working on his secret Ghost Army and Jakob videocalls to yell at him and Primo just looks away like a dog that got caught eating out of the trash.

Idea for a story: oooouughhhh none of yall are ready for the AU simmering in the back of my brain where Leo tries to save a chunk of Aporia's inner robotic hardware to try and bring him back to life, but it's corrupted and incomplete and only brings back Primo. So now you have this miserable postcanon Primo with no deck no sword no NOTHING being shown kindness from Yusei & co and having to live with all of Aporia's memories and knowledge of What He Did. it's so special to me. i need to brew some more on it.

Unpopular opinion: every day. i see this weird idea that Primo is like.... uwu so suave and dainty and delicate??? and it's like....HUH???? this 6 foot tall WEIRD GUY is PART MOTORCYCLE and MEAN AS HELL and UNPLEASANT TO BE AROUND and FUMBLES EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS PLANS. let him suck ass!! he's at his best when he sucks!! ALSO THE LIKE. FANDOM IDEA THAT HE LOVES BEES??!? literally every time he talks about insects it's in a derogatory manner for the love of god i am begging for media literacy. im on my hands and knees here.

Favorite relationship: I do love his stupid one-sided rivalry with Yusei it's so fucking funny. But also, again, he and Lester....god. Love them so fucking much. If Primo hated Lester as much as he acts and claims he would not have gone along with his little rich kid's butler bit I just know it (without complaining either!!). You can argue he just tolerates Lester's company but I genuinely think he does like it. even if it's just a little. Based and Big Brother'd. Wahhhh

Favorite headcanon: god where do I start. Autism Beast. Constantly on the verge of an being overstimulated meltdown. Zero volume control. If someone had introduced him to wolves that would have been it, he would have been a complete wolfaboo. Avid watcher of Cool Sword Videos. Built like a pit bull.

Wang Yibo - Stand Up

Goes without saying. Technically released in 2021, but was my soundtrack for 2022.

Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter

Destined to be among my top albums of all time. It's not often an artist can create an album that is powerful throughout. I am shocked and horrified that so few people have ever heard of her. Please do yourself a favor and check her out.

On an album packed full of songs I love, it still wasn't difficult to pick a favorite. Sun Bleached Flies resonates on every level. I feel like she has been reading my diary or something.

Oliver Sim - Hideous Bastard

This album hit me so hard. I've loved him for years as one of the members of The XX, and his voice is probably the main reason I'm such a huge fan of that group. That voice just reaches inside of me and rips everything apart.

Hideous Bastard is his first solo album. It's intensely personal, painful and beautiful from end to end. My favorite song from the album is Fruit. No words...

Although the title track (with a guest appearance from the legendary Jimmy Somerville) is also worth making special mention of.

Fontaines DC - Skinty Fia

Brilliant album from start to finish. Not surprising it ended up at or near the top of a lot of 2022 lists.

Little Simz - NO THANK YOU

Brand new album from an incredible artist. So many memorable tracks here, and be sure to check out her back catalog as well. She's among my favorite rappers of all time.

This post has been in my drafts for a while. I initially had Heart on Fire here as my favorite track from the album, but then she released this amazing 10 minute video medley of songs from the album and I couldn't help but put that here instead. Wow. Just. Wow.

Woodz - Colourful Trauma

Can't fail to mention Seungyoun's 2022 release. A big departure sound-wise, but still has all the charm he consistently brings. One of my all-time favorite songs from him appeared here - Better and Better (something he's expert at becoming! 🥹) Like GG's, SY's voice can immediately heal any bad mood.

Hozier - Swan Upon Leda

I posted about this song when it was released. Stunningly beautiful song, powerful message - the full package.

Francis of Delerium - The Funhouse

One of the top songs of the year for me. Incredible voice, great sound. Unbelievable. Truly excited to see where she takes her career. She deserves our support. Somehow she only has 1.1k YT followers.

Lane 8 - Automatic Ft Solomon Grey

This song has the right mixture of sweet, anthemic and sad.

The Afghan Whigs - A Line of Shots

A band I've followed for a very long time, I really love these guys. But as these things go, I sort of lost interest over the past few years. They released a new album in 2022 that didn't really grab me, but this song... it really took me back to all the reasons I loved them so much.

If there wasn't a 10 video limit I could add another 30 tracks/albums here, but these are some of the memorable standouts for me.

since our boi Dave is on my mind constantly, i decided to give it a shot and write a small x (gender neutral) reader fanfic with him because yes :D

not to mention, there is almost nothing for/with him out there :(

chatter filled the small hotel room, muffling the small TV in front of us. sitting on a pretty comfy, brownish couch, a bottle of wine and two glasses on the table in front of it, me and Dave talk about everything and anything that comes to our minds as we wait for Phil and Jeremy to come back with the-

honestly, i don't even remember what they said they were going after. oh well-

we've grown pretty close to each other in the short period of time we have worked together - it's like we know each other for years. still, as we talk and talk, the time passes, and the conversation starts to die out, we both focused on whatever is playing on the TV; some sort of drama involving a woman and a vampire.

i mostly stare at the screen, lost in thought, not paying attention to what's happening between the two anymore.

bringing the glass to my mouth, i take a small sip of wine. 'it's kinda sweet' i think, then take another sip.

Dave looks towards me

"so... yer single?" he asked out of nowhere, with a playful tone and a small glint of what seemed to be hope in his icy blue eyes - his usual shit-eating grin getting even wider as i choked on my drink. 'why was he asking that out of the sudden?' i thought to myself.

facing away from me, he takes a sip from his drink, eyeing me from the side while waiting for my answer, grin still on.

trying to re-composture myself, i clear my throat a bit, a small grin of my own starts tugging at the corners of my lips

"as a matter of fact, i am not."

i answer with such fake confidence that i am a little surprised he didn't seem to notice it. that, or he decided to play along with my silly game.

"who might the fella be?" he asked, moving his gaze away from me towards the TV, its lights dancing over his features.

my eyes focus on the half-empty glass in my hand as i say quietly "oh... no one, really..." looking over at him, i see his eyes still glued to the TV screen, head resting on his hand, no trace of the previous grin left on it.
