(Questions incoming also sorry I haven't been sending asks much lately)
(General questions)
Of all your aus, which one is your favourite to talk or think about?
Who is your favourite character out of that au, either by design, story or just general character?
(Monster au specific questions)
Do any of the engines gain hoarding instincts? (I think that's what it's called anyways)
Does Gator show up in your au, and if so is he a monster too?
Out of all the monster engines, who would be the most likely to go sit in the middle of a lake for fun (or to get away from people bothering them) (I know the above was a random question but now I really want to know lol)
(Children of Sodor au specific questions)
Do the kid engines (Thomas, Percy, Carly, Sandy, etc.) ever try to follow the big engines on their jobs? (Like, imagine the episode where Gordon drags Thomas behind the express, but instead Thomas isn't coupled up and Gordon isn't trying to teach him a lesson, Thomas is just running behind the express as fast as he can because he wants to be like Gordon, and Gordon doesn't realise until Thomas catches up at a station)
Not a question but I have a feeling that during the time before Sandy got to big to be picked up, if someone picked her up and she wasn't expecting it she would probably squeak (based off my cat sounding like a little squeaky toy if I pick her up and she wasn't expecting it)
How does Toad get along with Bruno? (If they've met)
And how does Duck view the kids? Does he stay away from them or does he chat/interact with them?
And now that I'm thinking about the Little Western branchline engines, does Oliver get along with the kids? Or Donald and Douglas?
(ToH au questions)
Does Willow discover she has magic, or does magic only work on the Boiling Isles? (sorry, I'm a bit rusty on ToH lore I cannot remember if magic works in the human realm) If she does discover she has magic, how does she and/or the people around her react?
How do people react to King? He's clearly not a very normal creature even if he is adorable.
Does Hunter ever meet Lady?
Is Belos looking for a way to get to Sodor/Shining time, to get his Golden Guard back, or did he just get a new one and forget about Hunter?
Sorry there's so many questions here lol you don't have to answer them all if you don't want to.
(Anon Orange)
EXCITED STIMMMING YESSSSSSS I LOVE TALKING THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!! Gonna take em' out section by section.
General questions: 1.) Mmmm that's rlly hard to decide on. I love a lot of them equally. I miiight say Children of Sodor? Purely bc AEG is a very big comfort show for me, I love the kiddos a lot, and I love my versions even more. 2.) Out of the group...either Gordon or Kana. COS!Gordon is beloved to me as the gentle old father he is, and Kana is just my favorite AEG in general, so I think about her a lot in my au content.
Monster AU questions: 1.) I'd say none of them are particularly hoarders. Mainly because they don't have anything they'd really want. They are enamored by shiny objects but once they're snapped out of it they don't really care too much. They've got plenty of water, coal, diesel fuel and such, so they're not hoarders of fuel either. The closest you could get would be yard leaders like Gordon, who sometimes would push their "packs" together and try to keep them in one spot because they were worried about losing any of them. They just didn't want any harm to come to their fellow engines and the leaders have particularly strong urges to guard everyone, Gordon was especially bad for it. 2.) I try to include everyone, so yes, Gator would be here too :) Seeing as I'm doing this to pretty much EVERY engine, I think it'd be unfair to leave Gator out of the fun. Adding onto that, despite being a steam engine, I think it'd be fun if he actually resembled an alligator instead of being a fluffy beast. Mainly because hey why not, and also c'mon, his nickname is Gator!! 3.) I think a lot of the engines would take advantage of the ability of getting to chill in water. As long as it's not super deep and they aren't doing it for too long, they can actually swim a bit. And in shallow waters they can just relax and cool off in warmer weather, they all enjoy it quite a bit.
Children of Sodor questions: 1.) The kids absolutely have always been trying to copy the adults. They have basic "instinct" to do jobs, but they don't know how to do things exactly, so they were looking to the older machines to learn how to do what they wanted to so badly. Carly was swinging her hook when Cranky would in an attempt to load cars the way he did, Thomas would beg Annie and Clarabelle to let him pull them so that he could pull a passenger train like Gordon (which he eventually started doing for real!), so on and so forth. 2.) Sandy did get very surprised the first little while, but eventually she got fully unbothered, mainly because Carly was far faster so she would lift Sandy and just carry her along all the time. 3.) Bruno likes to stick to routine and schedule, and he's usually with Diesel or Thomas if he's working, so he's not on the same branch line as Oliver and Toad all that often. He's met Toad before, and he likes him a lot, he's a very polite brake van and they have that same natural solidarity that all rolling stock of the same type feel. 4.) Duck thinks the kids are all very lovely! He'd heard about them when they first arrived, but didn't actually meet them until a few months later. He's not as intensely involved with their lives as some others are but he doesn't mind them at all, he's friendly towards them and will chat with them if they cross paths. Sort of similar to how Edward is with them, but Duck isn't as involved as Edward. 5.) Oliver is actually also a kid! Duck considers him his little brother, and Oliver is the only kid that Duck is almost constantly around. He likes hanging out with the other kids, Percy most of all, but finds himself more comfortable with the older engines. Namely Duck, Douglas, and Edward. 6.) Based off of my headcanon that Donald and Douglas are both really great with human kids, they're FANASTIC with machine kids. They're like the really fun uncles to the Tidmouth kids, if they get the chance to they're going to be spending every second they can with the kids, especially during the wintertime! They wanted to be as involved with the kids' lives as they could and were very present at the sheds when Kana and Nia had each first arrived so that they could make sure the overseas additions were settling in okay. The twins actually taught the young engines to clear snow!
On The Horizon questions: 1.) Magic from a natural born witch works pretty much anywhere, and in canon it does work in the human realm, though I feel I should point out that Sodor and Shining Time both are completely different from the "human realm" that Luna (aka Luz, I finally decided on the new names) came from. But yes, Wendy (aka Willow!) does indeed have magic! She didn't figure it out for a long while as there wasn't anything that really prompted her to do so and for many years of her life she fully believed she was human. The first time it happened was when she was 12 and it was a complete accident, one of her machine siblings had startled her and she just swung her arm around, managing to somehow summon a pretty large thorny vine from the ground. Wendy panicked and they ended up calling Hunter and MC over to investigate, and during that investigation Hunter finally confessed that he'd thought Wendy was a witch from the day he'd first seen her. He then sat down with Wendy and explained to her the very few things he did remember about wild magic, coaching her with his limited knowledge so that she could start training her powers. Her mother and all of her other loved ones were all quite shocked by this fact, but they didn't force Wendy to hide her magic just like the Hatt family didn't hide Oscar (Aka King) from the world. 2.) Speaking of the little guy! The rest of the island was pretty surprised by Oscar's existence. Topham had kept him hidden for the first few months, but he didn't want to keep the little guy cooped up forever, seeing as Oscar's clearly just as intelligent as any other kid and forcing him to hide for his whole life would be cruel and impossible. He did indeed startle many upon first meetings, but everyone adjusted and pretty soon Oscar was out among other kids his age with barely any issue. He did face a bit of bullying due to his strange appearance and clearly being nonhuman, but he has family and some friends who'd stand up for him and fix those problems. 3.) Hunter met Lady about 2 months after he'd been properly adopted by Mr. Conductor, actually! Seeing as the kid was already from a different magical world and he was healing from some rough times, MC thought it'd be a good idea to introduce the kid to Lady. Lady was a very welcome change of pace, she was calm and easy going and being an engine meant she didn't move that much and her facial expressions were far easier for him to read. Her kind voice and demeanor were really soothing to Hunter and him meeting her proved to benefit him greatly. 4.) Originally, I'd had the idea for Belos to go after Hunter. But then I thought about it. Belos, in the past, would kill the grimwalkers for the tiniest betrayals and then just start over with a new one like nothing happened...so I came up with a different plan. At first when Hunter was reported missing, Belos asked the coven to keep an eye out and listen to gossip. Interview residents of the isles. After a week of that, with no sign, he sent scouts to actively search for him. After a week of that? Belos sighed, shrugged, cut his losses, and cooked up a new grimwalker. This one's hair is a bit long and messy, but he looks enough like Caleb that he'll do. And this time, Belos is going to ensure this golden guard won't be going anywhere.

'Fire and Ice’: Parallels Between Jon Snow and Giorno Giovanna (Part 2 of ?)
While I’m taking a quick break from writing—let me get back into this. I’ve been re-reading parts of AGOT, and... I’ve found a lot of material that I want to use for this section.
First post can be found here.
Warnings: Extended Spoilers ahead for JJBA: Vento Aureo and ASoIaF.
I’ve discussed Ambitions and Childhood, but I haven’t talked about Personality.... Most especially the uncanny, bizarre charisma these two possess.
Giorno and Jon are quiet and keep to themselves. They’re also very very bad at setting good first impressions.
Before Jon is allowed to take his vows, he has to train in the yard at Castle Black with the other recruits. And... as expected of Lord Stark’s “bastard,” Jon—the teenager who lived in a castle and was trained by knights—is able to beat these fellow recruits (untrained, lowly born kids) singlehandedly and even breaks someone’s wrist because sparring with them is just child’s play to him.
“They’re not my brothers,” Jon snapped. “They hate me because I’m better than they are.”
“No. They hate you because you act like you’re better than they are. They look at you and see a castle-bred bastard who thinks he’s a lordling.” The armorer leaned close. “You’re no lordling. Remember that. You’re a Snow, not a Stark. You’re a bastard and a bully.”
“A bully?” Jon almost choked on the word. The accusation was so unjust it took his breath away. “They were the ones who came after me. Four of them.”
“Four that you’ve humiliated in the yard. Four who are probably afraid of you. I’ve watched you fight. It’s not training with you. Put a good edge on your sword, and they’d be dead meat; you know it, I know it, they know it. You leave them nothing. You shame them. Does that make you proud?”
— A Game of Thrones, Jon III
Not exactly making a splendid figure for himself as a recruit for the Night’s Watch.
Luckily for him, that scolding from Donal Noye leads Jon to reflect on the error of his ways and ultimately drives Jon to apologize and make friends with his new brothers. In good spirit, Jon offers to help them train and even makes them laugh, and would you look at that—everyone’s warming up to him!
Others were gathering around and looking at him curiously. Jon noticed Grenn a few feet away. A thick woolen bandage was wrapped around one hand. He looked anxious and uncomfortable, not menacing at all. Jon went to him. Grenn edged backward and put up his hands. “Stay away from me now, you bastard.”
Jon smiled at him. “I’m sorry about your wrist. Robb used the same move on me once, only with a wooden blade. It hurt like seven hells, but yours must be worse. Look, if you want, I can show you how to defend that.”
Alliser Thorne overheard him. “Lord Snow wants to take my place now.” He sneered. “I’d have an easier time teaching a wolf to juggle than you will training this aurochs.”
“I’ll take that wager, Ser Alliser,” Jon said. “I’d love to see Ghost juggle.”
Jon heard Grenn suck in his breath, shocked. Silence fell.
Then Tyrion Lannister guffawed. Three of the black brothers joined in from a nearby table. The laughter spread up and down the benches, until even the cooks joined in. The birds stirred in the rafters, and finally even Grenn began to chuckle.
—A Game of Thrones, Jon III
Giorno on the other hand is just... He’s quiet and the other guys probably only feel unsettled by his sudden appearance (this is my interpretation of course, I know people just love the idea of an evil and manipulative Giorno) in Chapter 456.
They’re in a dangerous line of work and having some stranger join—and inevitably disrupt the existing dynamics on their team—is not a prospect they welcome wholeheartedly. It’s only because of Bruno’s endorsement that they kind of suck it up.
But... not before trying to pull a prank on the unsuspecting new guy.
Tumblr media
Pictured above: Four people who could not give a flying f*ck about welcoming the new guy.
Tumblr media
Pictured above: Same four guys who are proceeding to ignore their new teammate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pictured above: Same four guys trying to pull a sneaky one.
Giorno finally catches the drift and sees that he’ll have to put in a little more effort if he wants to be taken seriously around here...
Tumblr media
And for some reason that means drinking the piss-tea. But sure, he “turned his tooth into a jellyfish.” Of course you did, dear Giorno.
Tumblr media
Protagonists rising above their peers’ expectations is a trope you see throughout a lot of Shounen manga. Naruto is one that comes to mind, but there’s tons, and you even see it in Phantom Blood with Jonathan. This same device is present in VA with Giorno, who does it again and again.
And just as Jon manages to impress the recruits (and even some of the sworn brothers), Giorno manages to turn the tables around and impress Bruno’s team. And this is not a solitary event. If anything, these few pages are only the beginning, and you see throughout VA that Giorno continues to earn their trust and admiration.
This arc also applies to Jon, who goes from very unpopular bully to a leader (and eventually Lord Commander of the entire Watch) as the series progresses. He and Giorno have a knack for winning people over, and it’s precisely why people look to them for leadership. When things take a turn for the worst during the attack on Castle Black, everyone turns to Jon for guidance. Jon won their trust and they’re ready to follow his commands.
Giorno, on the other hand, does not have many solo fights, but his presence and influence are very evident when his teammates are despairing. One arc that comes to mind is the Talking Head arc. Narancia is able to keep moving because of Giorno. Giorno’s stand literally gives life to inanimate objects, and just as Gold Experience gives life force to everyday knickknacks, Giorno is able to inspire and breathe new life into his teammates. Charisma is a central trait to both of these characters and it’s one of their most notable traits—probably one of the traits that distinguishes them as leaders, too. Hm. 👀
—————
A/N: I actually have some stuff about Aragorn that I wanted to add (because Jon Snow is DEFINITELY GRRM’s version of Aragorn and our dear Estel has to also deal with rising above expectations and whatnot in LOTR), but uh.... seeing that this is about Jon and Giorno, I left it out. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing those additions to this meta.
Edit on 06/23/20 — Changed the title to the meta because I remembered this old post I made.

God I want to expand more into this AU but I’m fucking SICK. It’s ironically called the Found Dragon Fam! AU, or just FDF!AU, because it just Raihans getting to meet all the famous, or just well known, Dragon type trainers. And they help him build up his own team and a bunch of other family fluff. But there’s Bby!Ash and Bby!Gary.
Also if you want the three, or the rest of the fam, to some how take down Rose. Then y’all are free to write that part if ya want!
———————————————————————
“Rai! Rai!” A little boy shouted. Zooming through throngs of people just to tackle a boy who had just boarded off a plain.
“Ash!” Raihan greeted. Dropping his bag and backpack onto the ground so he could easily scoop up the six year old in a tight bear hug. Ash’s fit kicked the air lightly since he was up so high, due to Raihan growing a good foot since last summer.
This was just the second summer that Raihan was going to spend out of five here in Kanto. Working with Champion Lance, Unovas top gym leader Drayden, and a few more dragon type specialtist. It was something old Lindy set up for him, since Raiahan is taking over her grandmother’s gym back in Galar once he’s done shadowing the other dragon trainers.
Raihan soon found out that he would also be dealing with a hyperactive kid Lance takes guardian ship over for the summer. Along with another boy, Gary Oak who was Professor Oaks youngest grandchild. Though Raihan didn’t mind at all, both boys did what they were told and only really got in the way when Raihans Pokémon didn’t want to leave the two to go train.
Speaking of the other boy. Gary followed Ash at a much slower rate, choosing to drag a chuckling Lance behind him.
“Ash!” Gary whined when the younger boy was, regrettably, set back down on his own to feet. “Lance told us to stay by him! And to not go running off!” The taller’s was quick to reprimand Ash, who slumped and turn to quietly apologize to Lance.
The spoken man just chuckled once more, patting Ash’s head before turning to Raihan with an easy going grin. “They get more energetic every year they come up, don’t you?” The Champion turned to look at both boys. Ash looked up to his pseudo uncle, a bright smile stretched across most of his face. Gary didn’t answer, to focused on getting his own bear hug from the Galarian Trainer.
Raihan just laughed. Feeling more free than when he was in Galar. No cocky Leon appearing in the corner of his eyes, no Rose to purposely try to antagonize him every time they meet, no Oleana to look down on him like Raihan was nothing but dirt under her high heels, no paparazzi and long interviews.
No, now it was sweet scented Kantonian air and even sweeter foods. The thought of tasting Elite Four Member Bruno’s delicious sushi once more made Raihans mouth water.
Lance scoffed, moving to clench one of Raihans slimm shoulders. “Look how thin you’ve gotten!” The Champion chose to be dramatic as he looked Raihan up and down. He couldn’t really see the boys body, since Raihan had chosen to wear baggy clothes onto the long ten hour flight from Galar to Kanto, but Lance was always the one to over embellish things. “We need to feed you pronto!”
Both Ash and Gary shouted in joy as they each took one of Raihans hands and slowly lead the trainer and Champion out of the crowded airports. Lance was lucky to grab the younger trainers bags before loosing the three of them in the crowd.
Raihan slowly felt like he was being folded into something more, something big and important. It warms his stomach in a way a thrilling battle can’t. Lance honestly treats him like a nephew, or that’s what Raihan hopes because his actual Uncles don’t want to deal with his part of the family, just like the rest of the Kanto and Johto Elite Four Members. Ash and Gary has started to refer to him as Cousin Raihan just after the first two weeks he had spent at the castle last summer. He had met the warm spirited that was Delia Ketchum, Ash’a mom, that could easily spit fire hotter than any kind of fire type dragon Raihan had ever seen.
Raihan was important. Something that dawned on him after Lance and a few others left Gary and Ash in his care with Agatha. Who then said that the others would never do this if it weren’t for the love and family bond they had made with Raihan in the last month out of the three. Raihan was important. And that’s all he ever wanted to be.
——
Raihan didn’t stop to say hello to his fellow Gym Leaders like he normally does when it’s finally time to start the beginning ceremony for the Galar Pokémon league season. Instead he opted to barge all the way through until he had gotten to the back of the gym leaders locker room.
“Ash.” The name flew out of Raihans mouth like he was punched hard in the gut by one of his own Pokémon. The name made the other person in the back of the room to swirl around with bright happy eyes.
“Hey Rai,” was Ash’s response, slow and easy in Galarnese with a hint of a Kantonese accent, “long time no see, huh?”
Last seen each other in general? Five years. Last seen each other in person? Since Raihans last summer in Kanto before he took over the position of gym leader in Galar.
“Ten years,” the dragon trainer mumbled, eyes roaming Ash’s looks, “ten years since we last stood in a room together.”
That made Ash flinch, his eyes glanced apologetics up into Raihans own eyes. “Yeah.” Aah muttered lamely. one of his feet dig into the tile, or tried to really.
“Come here.” Raihan didn’t even give the boy, no young man now, a chance to even say anything. Hauling Ash into a tight bear hug that lasted a good few minutes. The other gym leaders whispered and talked behind Raihans back. But he didn’t care. Not one bit. Ecause Ash was here, in Galar, the bastard who faced a God for his champion title in Alola and won.
“You crazy mother fucker,” Raihan breathed, bending his body enough to tuck his face into Ash’s wild hair, “I thought you were a goner. Fucking God.” The gym leader had to pull back and take a few deep breaths to calm down his emotions. It’s not the time to cry since it’s so close to the opening ceremony.
Ash didn’t say anything, he just buried his head further into Raihans chest. Trying his hardest not to cry as well. He missed Raihan so fucking much. Missed how in the past Raihan would easily picks him and Gary up, running around the castle gardens without losing breath. Missed how he would let the two curl up, one on each side, for their nap when Agatha dragged the Galarian to her side of the castle for tea. Missed watching him get into a friendly banter back and forth with Lance while they trained their respected Pokémon. Missed helping him out in the kitchen with Bruno and Lorelei, making all sorts of food and sweets Raihan never tried.
“It’s so fucking cold here.” Ash muttered as they finally pulled apart. “Alola’s heat spoiled me to much.” And it was true. Alola heat felt good on Ash’s battered bones, it’s made him faster and more vigilant. Especially when he had become the TA in Professor Kukui’s class, Gods that class had gotten into so much trouble and they dragged him down as well. But it’s all good and Ash already miss those scamps.
The gym leader just chuckled, pulling Ash once more into another bear hug so he got the chance to rub his cheek into Ash’s hair. Something they’ve done way back then, Lance was the one who had started it with Ash and Gary which got the boys to transfer it over to Raihan after the end of the second summer. Ash happily rubbed his own cheek into his shoulders, the younger trainer standing on his tippy toes.
They pulled back once more. Ash curled his arms around his mid section. it was way colder in Galar than Alola, even in Sinnoh, the weather had more frosty bite than Ash had ever felt with.
“Where’s Pikachu?” Raihan asked with a raised eyebrow. He never got to meet the electric mouse, but damn him if he didn’t ducking want to. That Pokémon had turned into a beast the size of a Houndoom.
Ash shifted back and forth with a frown. Looking around the room. “Shit.” Aah whispered. Raihan laughed loudly at the, throwing his arm around Ash’s shoulder.
“He’ll turn up eventually. Can’t miss a big bright yellow Pokémon.” Raiahan rejoiced a little as he got a smile back onto Ash’s face.
“Yeah, your right.” Aah replied. He was about to say something once more before the intercoms turned on and informed that all gym leaders, plus Champion Ash, need to start heading towards the pitch right this second.
“Rose.” The gym leader couldn’t help but snarl under his breath. Making Ash perk up right beside him with a glint in his eyes, something familiar that Raihan had seen every time before Ash dragged him and Gary into a prank against a league official.
“Guess my stay in Galar is getting extended!” Ash chirped happily. Whipping out his phone as Raihan easily went into guidance mode, dragging Ash out of the way of other people and making sure the boy didn’t crash into any walls or trip over his feet.
“If your going to dethrone Rose,” Raihan murmured into Ash’s ear, keeping his eyes in front of him and the rest of his colleagues who had left the room first, “let me help you.”
“That’s the plan!” Ash sent a blinding smile up at Raihan, who smiled softly back before letting the shorter trainer go back to rapidly texting on his new Rotom Phone.
They both entered the pitch together, for once Raihan was behind the rest of the other League members, which will definitely bring some kind of questions for their fans and News sites. But Raihan didn’t care at all. bumping shoulders with Ash before moving to stand next to Piers, who showed up for once and that might have to be because of Chairman Rose grilling all the gym leaders for showing up to this ceremony. Ash moved towards Milo with a cheery greetings on his lips for the grass gym leader.
Rose stepped out on the pitch with Leon right behind him. Even far away Raihan could see the Galar Champion was walking swiftly with a stiffer smile than normal. Probably a little scared with the thought of battling out with another Champion he had never met before. But damn him if Raihan didn’t hush about Ash and Gary when some one let him, making Leon the other half stuck for a few hours while listening Raihan rant and rave about the two younger boys and their accomplishments.
So Leon might be scared, and Raihan couldn’t fault him. He would also be scared facing off Ash. He watched Rose and Leon faulted and Raihan chose to take a glance down the line, using his height advantage to see the end of the lien up.
A large yellow body had appeared next to Ash, and the other Champion had crouch down to silently reprimand Pikachu in timing and probably how they should have walked out into the field together.
As Leon and Rose got closer, Raihan noticed how Rose’s shoulders were tense and even though he was smiling, Rose’s eyes were tracking Ash’s every movement. Which made Raihans nerve set aflame for reasons that he coud list for an hour.
Oh, Rose is so going to fall off his throne before Ash. And Raihan would help Ash with anything the younger trainer needed.

All Karen ships rated (update)
Original here
I did this like a few months after making this account, and I thought it’d be fun to go back and re look at my ratings
Also since this one isn’t a dare to rate EVERY ship I am cutting out the protag/companion section since they’re all underaged and the original ratings reflected thus wiht them all being a no. Also getting rid of ones where she’s with a pokemon.
Finally I’m gonna add some ones I like to the very end
strike through=my side commentary, trying to be funny italicized=if asked I’d be down to rp it mostly just to see how/it it’d work bold=ship name and who in it to help you find a certain ship highlights=they are grouped up, again in case you want to find that one ship * by ship name=Super random ships I find kinda wild ! by ship name=Dramatic change to original rating
ships on ‘never ending romance’ website.
Karen w/ a Villian:
! 180Shipping - Karen & Shelly -2 bad a ladies over here kicking butt and being fashionable heck yes, but also Karen is an awful swimmer so let the cute romance ensue 8/10
*AphoticShipping - Saturn & Karen-Karen would find it fun to mess with from time to time, and maybe could work. 5/10
*AtrociousShipping - Karen & Mars-I mean possible, but also Mars is really kinda child like so Karen may just want to protect her instead. 4/10
BarghestShipping - Karen & Lavana-I feel like it’d be like shipping Karen with a cheerleader…an evil cheerleader. 2/10
! DarkIntentionShipping - Giovanni & Karen-Tbh yeah I like it. Just depends though because again she grew up with Silver who she is like a mom (or older sis some days) to, so that would have to be worked out. Plus she’s kinda miffed he left Silver from seeing how much it hurt him. But also hateship to romance, basically I’ve been giving this one more thought and it could be heckin cute. 9/10
*IcePinkShipping - Karen & Lovrina-No too whinney and arrogant for Karen. 0/10
***ImperiousShipping - Hunter J & Karen-Oh dear gosh no, haaaard no, And before you ask about Twist!verse they’d be both too emotionally closed. -50/100
! KariShipping - Courtney (Magma) & Karen- Been thinking about this one too and the more i think about it the less I see it. Both are too closed/awkward. 1/10
LiaisonShipping - Petrel & Karen-Kinda cute in a way with them balancing each other out. It’s like obvious psycho with subtle psycho, and seems fun. 8/10
! PaybackShipping - Archer & Karen- Briefly had a little shipping with this and tbh really enjoyed it. If in an au just the dynamic of the couple in 101 Dalmatians would be these two. In main verse you could have them sneaking the romance and such to not get caught. Also evil Karen? Or good Archer? 9/10
PerishSongShipping - Proton & Karen-He’s a bit reactive for her, and cocky though maybe she’d balance him out? 5/10
! StrangeloveShipping - Domino & Karen-…I dunno why she makes me think of sailor moon, but she does Evil Karen? then ye this could work and be fun, maybe Twist!verse would even work. 8/10
TenebrousShipping - Ariana & Karen-I find it funny the team Karen was vaguely a part of, and now is a part of her life she works so hard to distance from is the one she’s shipped with ALOT. Oh and Galactic of all things is second most common for some reason. Also eh on this one. Ariana has that mom vibe, and Karen distances herself from that usually. 3/10
Karen w/ gym leader:
*BerthierShipping - Cress & Karen-I dunno because he seems like a 16 year old teen to me, but their personalities would work, so maybe. 5/10
BittersweetShipping - Karen & Whitney-Hm I can think of some interesting plots with Karen’s early elite four days as when they meet. Not sure what they’d have in common though. 4/10
! BracknellShipping - Gardenia & Karen-Karen likes grass tyoes and Gardenia has that somewhat wild side that Karen likes I can see them spending late nights camping after exploring all day. 8/10
***ChalcedoniteShipping - Karen & Roxanne-Isn’t she like 16? Also I feel Karen would just see her as a spunky kid 0/10
! CockroachShipping - Burgh & Karen-Can we appreciate the name please…..Ok cool. Ok but Karen trying to learn how to paint the normal way and showing Burgh how to do spray paint work or paint a motorcycle? Look I think they’d be cute. 8/10
! ColdNightShipping - Candice & Karen-Yes, double yes. Candice talking about the pressure of having the meeting point of dialgia, palkia, and giratina so close plus the regi temple, and lake acuity. Like the pressure of keeping all of these legendary places safe is alot of pressure. Then Karen knowing about ho-oh and wanting to keep them safe, anyways they can bond ina . cool way. 10/10
*DarkActShipping - Brycen-Man & Karen-Not Brycen, Brycen-Man. I really dunno because I feel like it’d be too close to the Masked Man for her to be comfortable. 2/10
DarkalleyShipping - Volkner & Karen-Hmmmmm maybe, but also I feel Volkner needs a more high energy person, so 3/10. As the toxic relationship their a part of in some hallmark like plot though 10/10
DarkGaleShipping - Karen & Winona-A possibility, but I kinda see them as friends just chillin watchin clouds. 3/10
*DarkHarvestShipping - Cilan & Karen-Didn’t know Karen was popular with the trio, but ok. Anyways if he’s alot like he is in the anime thats gonna be a hard no. otherwise, eh maybe? 4/10
DarkMarshShipping - Karen & Sabrina-Friends I think. Like they’d be comfortable around each other, but no spark in that way. 1/10
ElectricDarknessShipping - Elesa & Karen-I sort of want it just because while Karen dresses nice she is a tomboy meaning the clashes about fashion or manners would be great. 8/10
FightNightShipping - Karen & Maylene-If they were in the plot of a secret fight club, a hard yes. Otherwise, I don’t see it. 1/10
GabbroShipping - Brock & Karen-I want to see Brock do his whole freak out just to write Karen’s way to shoot him down. After all romance takes awhile for, and if aggressive is your first interaction it scares her. Though he does stand down after being rejected so she’d respect that, and maybe think about giving a chance. 5/10
GothShipping - Clair & Karen-Popular yes, but I like the Cynthia, Karen, Clair girl squad dynamic so much more. 2/10
ImpShipping - Karen & Valerie-Karen being vastly confused but fascinated by the antics of Valerie sounds cute.  7/10
InsectQueenShipping - Karen & Viola-The plots would be cute knowing Karen’s quirks with cameras. 8/10
LamentShipping - Flannery & Karen-Idk due to lack of things to connect on overriding if personalities would work. 3/10
LiptonShipping - Jasmine & Karen-I wanna say no cause I think she’d be too sweet for Karen, but also yes because she can get super intimidating and tiny Jas actually wearing the pants in their relationship sounds interesting 5/10
**MortelleShipping - Fantina & Karen-Naw…to much flash and show for Karen, but maybe contest mentor. Also Karen has a vendetta against Amity Square for it’s selectiveness of ‘cute pokemon’. 0/10
! NightsongShipping - Falkner & Karen-The name of this ship is amazing, but Falkner is like one of those characters who gets shipped aorund with EVERYONE like really it’s kinda ridiculous and I’m tired of him just beign thrown at everyone 2/10
! PaintedLadyShipping - Bugsy & Karen-How is this one not for Burgh?  Yeah no he’s just too much like a kid. 0/10
RafureShipping - Erika & Karen-…can their Vileplume’s fall in love instead? I’m 10/10 for that. Between them 2/10
RiddlesInTheDarkShipping - Blaine & Karen-…Eh…or we could not, and maybe they just are friends. I don’t really see romance blooming there. 0/10
SchwarzFlashShipping - Lt. Surge & Karen-Them both having PTSD? Maybe helping each other? I mean I wouldn’t mind giving it a shot. 7/10
ScotopiaShipping - Karen & Skyla-Maybe too much spunk like Rosa, but Karen would admire her determination. 4/10
SilkShipping - Janine & Karen-No pls. I see Karen as her unofficially adopted big sis, and find that adorable. 0/10
! UnderworldShipping - Morty & Karen- So far this has proven to be a hard no, and tbh I kinda like it better that way.  0/10
***WhiteMoonShipping - Pryce & Karen-Even in a verse he wasn’t The Masked Man imma give this a hard no. 0/10
Karen w/ an elite:
AphroditeShipping - Koga & Karen  -He’s like her dad…so…no. -50/10
BadRomanceShipping - Grimsley & Karen-Bad romance is a good title cause I feel it’d be a rough start. 10/10
*BlackGlacierShipping - Glacia & Karen-Tbh not sure if they have much at all in common. 1/10
BlackiceShipping - Karen & Lorelei-Ok maybe because they have some similarities, but tbh I like the older gal pal bond alot. 5/10
DarkEliteShipping - Sidney & Karen-A more punk relationship in this elite match-up, but I could see it working. 10/10
DarkKnightShipping - Wikstrom & Karen-Again the title tho! I mean yeah I think I could see it from her finding him quirky, but in a good way. Although they have wildy different aesthetics so it’d depend on interpretations. Right now I do love the dynamicKaren has with a Wikstrom account.  8/10
DelilahShipping - Bruno & Karen-Eh maybe? I like the uncle and niece bromance they have tho. 4/10
! DementiaShipping - Lucian & Karen-I feel like they’d either clash or hit it off with no inbetween. I Still stand by this but I think they’d everntually fall for each other.  9/10
DisownShipping - Agatha & Karen-NOOOOO don’t make Gma relationship sexy! -50/10
! HellaFineEliteShipping - Karen & Malva- Ok so came back, and yeah I could see it, but depends on interpretations again because they could just more easily spark into a fight or if the first interaction went sour not give it another shot. 5/100
IntuitiveShipping - Siebold & Karen-Actually had a rp with them shipped, was Twist!verse tho giving Siebold that rescuer mentality which helped. In general though I kinda want to see it. 7/10
LambentShipping - Flint (elite) & Karen-Hm. Maybe? Like, ok the dynamic personality helps, but also would be a slow burn. 5/10
MasakudoShipping - Will & Karen- I love it in some ways, but I also feel as though they’ve see so much of each other’s absolute worst sides it wouldn’t work. ???/10
! NightmareShipping - Karen & Phoebe-Eh they’d be good friends but I can’t see them really hitting it off as far as things they have in common. 3/10
NoWeaknessShipping - Karen & Shauntal-Ok bumbling dork sounds cute, and her defending from Grimsley’s teasing sounds cute, and great now I find this cute. 8/10
RhymeShipping - Aaron (elite) & Karen-…ArE thEsE tWo ONly ShIPpeD cAUsE thEiR NAmEs RhYmE?! Jokes on you because imagine them working out together, or exploring the woods, or yeah let’s ship this! 8/10
ShootingStarShipping - Drake (Orange) & Karen-Hm, I mean I would like to see it before going anywhere with it. 4/10
SuckerPunchShipping - Marshal & Karen-…I see it more than Bruno, but also feel as though they could clash some how personality wise. I’d like to see a plot for it though. 4/10
TerrifyingShipping - Caitlin & Karen-They both have awful sleep schedules so I feel like trying to get a time they’re both awake would be a problem, and personality wise would clash. 1/10
Karen w/ a champion:
BoadiceaShipping - Cynthia & Karen-I like the best friend bond a thousand times better, but I see the appeal 7/10 BumpShipping - Steven Stone & Karen-If you asked me when I started this account I would of said,”in what world?” Now after having various interaction with multiple accounts I’m like 10/10 DreamTeamShipping - Alder & Karen-Eh…yes…and no? Like he did hit on Cynthia and she has qualities like her, so could maybe work.  6/10 NeoEliteShipping - Lance & Karen-Like yeah I can see it. It’d take flippin forever with Karen being a royal butt most of the time while adjusting to elite life, and then after that they’re both closed off with emotions so it’s take awhile. 10/10 I hate that my prediction was correct
Karen w/ a minor GAME npc:
BoxVirusShipping - Brigette & Karen-Could be interesting, but I’m not sold all the way 3/10 CassiaShipping - Karen & Sina-Very random, and tbh I say no because of what little they would connect on 0/10 ChicoryShipping - Cheryl & Karen-Cheryl is so sweet. I feel too sweet because Karen needs someone that will argue with her when she needs redirecting 0/10 ClosestShipping - Karen & Zinnia-I mean the rebellious streak, the slightly odd behavior? Karen would find it intriguing, and if the move was made she wouldn’t oppose it. 9/10 ! DarkMagicShipping - Eusine & Karen-Better watch out Morty, Ms. Steal Ya Dude is ova here! Yeah no no, they can only clash. Even without Morty beign the catalyst these 2 would clash. 0/10 DarkServiceShipping - Darach & Karen-Heh…the name alone tho. x3 (i am mature I swear) Ok kinda random, but possible. She isn’t one to look down on someone due to social status. 5/10 ! DarkShadowsShipping - Ingo & Karen -Him and his bro are so easy to ship to me, and yes she’d find his quirks cute while dragging him out of his shell while he’d keep her grounded. 10/10 DarkSpecterShipping - Riley & Karen-Like ok yeah, the mysterious vibe combined with a strong goal. I can see it. 7/10 ! GigabyteShipping - Bill & Karen-idk, Karen may not be a big science person but she finds it kind of interesting to listen to. Could work. 5/10 KurumiShipping - Karen & Lisia-Comin for ya girl Wallace! Tbh tho idk because I could see them having a cute mentee relationship if Karen did competition with the twist in dynamic of her mentor being younger. As for romance 3/10 NoirShipping - Karen & Marley-Karen’s inner thoughts as a person. Like could work, or maybe too similar. 3/10 SeventhJugglerShipping - Juggler (Trainer class) & Karen-Lol the title tho, like seventh juggler!? Boi has no name! I mean ok, sure. I love a relationship that keeps both parties guessing, and if Karen can handle WIll I think she’d be down to handle a second clown. XD 8/10
Karen w/ a minor ANIME/MOVIE npc:
BahamarShipping - Karen & Olesia-Don’t get at all, and I think she’s barely an adult 0/10 CamdenShipping - Karen & Michelle-Would make more sense with Lance 1/10 DarkMotherSocietyShipping - Delia & Karen-Why does everyone want ash’s mom? Also no. 0/10 DetoxicationShipping - Karen & Sakura-Aw naw, wholesome friendship. 0/10 FavoriteShipping - Lawrence III & Karen-Karen in twist!verse, yes. A hard yes. 10/10 Otherwise…eh…maybe? 5/10 GothicDJShipping - Karen & DJ Mary-Enemies 10/10, mostly Karen’s side. With her reporting on Karen’s past, and asking invasive questions wanting a scoop for her show. Romance -50/10 HazyShipping - Karen & Solidad-She’‘s down to earth, and I think her groove may fit well w/ Karen 6/10 LiminalShipping - Sir Aaron & Karen-Can we please just agree this is Riley but in his mega form? 7/10 MorriganShipping - Karen & Moria-I have no idea where this one came from, and I’m eh. 1/10
Karen w/ a Frontier brain:
AshikoShipping - Greta & Karen-Eh, I don’t see anything really 1/10 CapriShipping - Dahlia & Karen-Idk why I feel like they’re the same person, but I do, and eh. 4/10 DarkLuckShipping - Karen & Lucy-Her and Brock tho…also I feel like they’d fall into awkward silences often. 2/10 YorShipping - Brandon & Karen-Maybe as vigilantes together, that’d be a fun plot. Shipping though Idk. 4/10
TCG Characters: (All 0)
TaladasShipping - Felicity & Karen-Another news personality, but also with theatrics and I just don’t see it. 0/10 DarknessEnergyShipping - Mark & Karen-Not much on this guy. It’s a no cause she’s see him as a child, but look him up. 0/10 MoonSugarShipping - Karen & Mint-No iz too child, and also look the kid up. 0/10
OTHER MANGA Characters:
DarkGirlShipping - Karen & Rug-Turns out this is a real person, and not an actual rug. My bad. Also no she’d likely take the girl in as a mentee though. 0/10 MephistoShipping - Karen & Pauline-….eh. 1/10 RosarioShipping - Daisy (Cerulean) & Karen-I feel like it’s a possibility, but I’m not jumping full on board. 4/10
Karen and multiple people: (All are gonna be a no romantically because I don’t see Karen being poly, but I’ll give plot ideas)
DarkPathShipping - Brycen-Man, Grimsley, Sidney & Karen-Brycen is random….? Unless they do a movie where they’re all the bad guys and him as the ultimate villain maybe? Movie idea, 10/10.
DuskShipping - Karen, Houndoom & Skuntank-I can see Karen with a skunktank, and Garnet teaming with one for a double battle would be cool. 10/10
DystopianDarkActShipping - Brycen-man, Cyrus, Karen & Marley-Brycen-Man is everywhere with Karen, and I don’t know why…also sort of random combination…based on the name maybe a plot with them in a dystopian world. For some apocalypse theme plot though 10/10
EcostasisShipping - Flint (elite), Volkner, Candice, Karen & Sabrina-So the name is about extra bone formation….people that should all join team skull? Ooooor lab experiment plot? I guess 7/10
ElitismShipping - Falkner, Morty, Will, Clair, Karen & Whitney-I feel like the title is implying them thinking they’re better than everyone. I see none of this from any of these people, and am confused. 0/10
EsotericShipping - Grimsley, Sidney & Karen-YAAAAS DARK SQUAD! The name does suit them, and I don’t need to list any plots they easily make their own. 100/10
FrostingShipping - Dawn, Karen & Lovrina-Pulling from all the verses here, and all I see is a gal pal adventure. An odd adventure. KInda down tho. 5/10
HaremTaroShipping - Gold (Special), Crystal, Jasmine, Karen, DJ Mary & Whitney-I’ve never watched the anime this one is referring to so ???/10
HeolstorShipping - Falkner, Morty & Karen-There is no meaning behind the name, but maybe they’d be good camping buds. 7/10
IndigoLeagueShipping - Bruno, Koga, Lance, Will & Karen-As really super good friends, heck ye! Imagine a prank war plot now! 10/10
JohtoHaremShipping - Jimmy (Kenta), Karen, Marina (Johto), DJ Mary, Sakura & Whitney-….Due to the title there is clearly only one intention for this, and please no. -1000/10
KinkShipping - Erika, Karen & Sabrina-If you’re kink is having a good time pokemon battling! C’mon they’d be another awesome girl squad! :D (The things I do to keep sex talk at a pg-13 level). As buds 10/10
KuroyukihimeShipping - Princess Allie, Candice & Karen-Karen would want to punt the princess. Plot of her and Candice babysitting this child, and holding each other back from strangling her 9/10
LooseShipping - Cynthia, Jessie, Karen & Misty-…As a Gal pal squad that sounds awesome, and I want them all stuck bonding in a high school detention together. You got sporty chic (Misty), Delinquente (Karen), Theater kid (Jessie), and Miss Perfect (Cynthia) 10/10
LoyalMaskShipping - Carl, Will, Karen & Sham-I WANT TO WRITE OR RP THIS CREW SO BADLY! AH! Like, PLEASE! 1000/10
MaskedChildrenShipping - Carl, Silver (Special), Will, Blue (female), Karen & Sham-AGAIN! I WANNA WRITE THIS CREW! Not as much as the LoyalMask, but I LOVE DIS CREW! Fear the children! 10/10
MaskedGirlsShipping - Blue (female), Karen & Sham-Evil girly child squad sounds great! 10/10
MatsuriShipping - Morty, Agatha & Karen-I am imagining Agatha mentoring both of them, and they’re competing to be stronger. Don’t know past that, but sounds interesting 8/10
MidnightGardenShipping - Gardenia, Karen & Roxanne-I actually want them to start a gardening group that only meets at night. Sounds fun tbh, and could have some quirky fluff plots. 8/10
NewLookShipping - Elesa, Karen, Sabrina & Shelly-Them all shopping together sounds amazing. For each other would be interesting, but for another person sounds like absolute chaos, and I love it. 10/10
QuirkyMoonSugarShipping - Greta, Karen, Mint & Whitney-lot of verses here. Um yes definaley all quirky, dunno how their dynamic would be though. 2/10
ShadowedShipping - Clair, Cynthia & Karen-Again gal pals. 10/10
SororityShipping - Flannery, Karen & Lily (Kanto)-Them in a sorority maybe fun. I’m sorta down 6/10
ThreatOnAlertShipping - Grimsley, Morty, Alexa (XY), Dahlia & Karen-Is this a group of the most paranoid people because if so yeah I agree. 10/10
XenonDarkActShipping - Brycen-Man, Paul, Wallace & Karen-Another movie with them all as bad guys maybe? Idk how Paul would fit tho so 8/10 ShitennouShipping - Aaron (elite), Bruno, Drake (Hoenn), Flint (elite), Grimsley, Koga, Lance, Lucian, Marshal, Sidney, Siebold, Wikstrom, Will, Agatha, Bertha, Caitlin, Drasna, Glacia, Karen, Lorelei, Malva, Phoebe & Shauntal (gen infinite)-…Ok so this is basically everyone, and sure yeah let’s make em all buds. Down w/ that. I’d like giant team up, but am not writing all of that alone. 10/10
Karen with….Karen….????: (I had no idea where to fit this in.)
PerkyGothShipping - Karen & herself-She would know what herself needs to hear, so good, but also she likes different things, and may get bored. I suppose it depends on portrayal. ???/10
Other ships
BlackCatDog Shipping - Karen & Nanu They were shipped for a bit and I still think it’s a cute possibility. If nothing else just them talking about their pasts would be interesting. They’ve both been through alot. 8/10
MoonFlare Shipping - Karen & Lysandre If I could only choose 1 ship for Karen it’d be this one. I just really like the parallels that they have with each other, and how both of them have compassion for the opposite sides but due to roughly a similar reason. I’d have to go into alot to explain all that though. Basically I just really like how opposites attract here cause they’d both have to grow. 10/10
Aqua Moon shipping - Karen & Archie Again Karen’s awful around water and I just think these two would have a blast interacting with each other. They’d also both be able to have serious moments too,a nd could even talk about what it was like to leave Rocket. Also I have a really awesome idea for Deity!Verse. 8/10
BlackPaint Shipping - Karen & Mina  This combines Karen and art like with the Burgh ship, plus fairy shenanigans like with Valerie, and also the punk but soft vibe both of these gals bring to the table. I love it 10/10
MoonHearts Shipping - Karen & Sonia Sonia trying to figure out how to scientist, and Karen trying to figure out how to elite, and them both being dorks. I love it! 8/10
MoonHive - Karen & Professor Juniper Juniper being science nerd but also super deep and philosophical and just her and Karen spending late nights talking about anything and everything sounds cute. 7/10
NightWatchers - Karen & Looker Ye they’d picker sometimes and yes Karen’s bar might become a problem, but what if they have to work together and spy shenanigans ensue with these dorks insisting to themselves they need to stay professional. Cute af. 10/10
BlackSmog Shipping - Karen & Tabitha  Tbh I could see it. I’m not as firmly sold as some others but I can see it working. Besides Karen doesn’t care if someone’s an ex criminal or has humble beginnings. so ye could work! Although she’d def want to get Tabitha to work out with her. 6/10

@tradittore happy birthday bucellati!!!
While today wasn’t a special day it most certainly was a day of significance. The day was sunny, streets quiet as he walked down the sidewalk, and it was also his leader, Bruno Buccellati, birthday.
Ever since meeting the man almost over a year ago, Mista had learned much about not only the man in mind but his fellow comrades. What they liked, disliked, and bits and pieces of what made them who they are today. Some were more vocal than others, however. Others took a closer eye to pick up on what made them, them. Buccellati just so happens to be one of those individuals.
Now, as he made his way toward their ‘home base’ that being the restaurant the group frequented, Mista pondered, should he do anything? Of course, he planned on at least saying ‘Happy Birthday’ but that was all that came to mind. A present? His brows frowned at the thought.  It seemed a bit silly to give such a grand gesture such as a present. Not that they weren’t friends or something akin to that but...it didn’t settle well in his mind to get him a cake or something along those lines.
Mista was coming to the conclusion that acknowledgment of the day would suffice. That was until something caught his peripheral. Stopping, he stood outside a quaint little shop. Little was actually the perfect way to describe it. A homemade-looking sign hung above the small window and next to the window was a wooden door. All of it fit together so snug between two bigger buildings. A glance around and Mista caught the time. He had some, so why not step inside.
                                                         +++/++
The aroma of food hit his nose the moment he opened the restaurant door. A huge inhale, followed by a loud sigh, Mista announced his arrival. “Man, smells great!” he said, rounding the counter and toward the groups private section of the establishment. Upon entering he saw the birthday boy sitting in his usual seat. Mista smiled. “Hey,” he rounded toward the man in question. Once he got his attention Mista pulled his hand from his pocket and placed Buccellati’s present right beside his drink.
It was a snowglobe. Well, sorta. There was no snow or anything alike inside. Instead, there was a group of colorful fishes. From how it was described by the wife of the shop owner, they were local sea life from the ocean. Not only that but the liquid inside was in fact seawater. Bits of see-through glitter gave off a ‘snow like’ look to tie it all together. They had several like this in the shop, different sizes and creatures, but this one spoke to Mista. Especially after the description given by the wife:
“My husband loves fishing. I tag along because, ya know, I might not know how to fish but gotta make sure he doesn’t fall in” he remebred her chuckling. “After awhile I decided to make these. To give bits of the sea to those who can’t get to it as often as him and I.”
“Happy Birthday, Buccellati.” was all he said before moving around the table and taking his seat, reaching for a quite fancy bottle of wine. He’d always loved special occasions. Made a good excuse for the best kind of everything and anything. “You’re sharing your birthday meal right? It smells so good.” a grin.

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 24 Premiere: Best Lifts, Kicks, Tricks and Flips!
The season 24 premiere of Dancing With the Stars was full of sweet surprises!
We've covered all the big moments from Monday's show HERE, but now, we're breaking down each piece of choreography. Who had the most difficult dance? Which star executed the best tricks? Which choreographer went above and beyond in the ballroom? The judges locked in their scores, and here at ET, we're doing the same. Keep reading for more!
WATCH: Sharna Burgess and Bonner Bolton Address That 'Unintentional' Viral Moment on 'DWTS' Premiere
Simone Biles and Sasha Farber - Tango, "Untouchable" by Tritonal and Cash Cash
Dance highlight: Ummm, the entire dance?! There were high kicks, dips and a beautiful spin towards the end of the number (and we can't forget about that flawless flip Simone executed during the show's opening number!). When it comes to level of difficulty, Sasha's choreography for week one exceeded our expectations, resulting in a well-deserved spot on the top of the leader board. Judges' score: 32/40. "That was the dance of the night." - Bruno Tonioli ET's score: 36/40. Because this was only week one of the competition, we feel the judge's scores were quite low. But what Simone and Sasha did on that stage Monday night was stronger than some of the performances we've seen from past contestants during their fourth or fifth weeks in the competition. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev -- Viennese Waltz, "She's Always a Woman" by Billy Joel
Dance highlight: In addition to Nancy's flawless waltz steps and graceful arm movements, the former Olympic figure skater proved she's just as light on her feet as she is on the ice. Our two favorite moments happened at the 2:04 mark, when she arched her back and kicked her left leg in the air, and at 2:16, when Artem assisted her in a stunning spin that reminded us of something we'd see her execute on ice. Just beautiful! Judges' score: 28/40. "The movement was expressive." - Len Goodman ET's score: 33/40. We can't get over how great Nancy looked in the ballroom. She definitely knows how to use her arms, extending them just as a pro dancer would. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko -- Salsa, "XXPEN$IVE" by Erika Jayne
Dance highlight: Starting the dance atop a unicorn was certainly memorable, but when it comes to actual dancing, we have to give major props to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's flexibility. Out of all the performances we saw during the premiere, Gleb's choreography was jam-packed with the most creative tricks, the best being a side split into a snake dive to the floor. Judges' score: 24/40. "Full of flair and confidence." - Len Goodman ET's score: 30/40. It's not easy keeping up with the young stars, like Simone and Normani Kordei, both 20. We think the judges may have forgotten that the reality star is 45 years old. When you take that into consideration, she killed it, and we can't wait to see more! Celebrity/fan reaction:
David Ross and Lindsay Arnold -- Quickstep, "Go Cubs Go" by Steve Goodman
Dance highlight: Aside from the fact that their costumes were everything (our favorite of the night!), David's slide on the ballroom floor at the beginning of their dance was the sure standout. It perfectly encapsulated the theme they were going for, plus, who knew a pro baseball player could make a move like that look so graceful? Judges' score: 28/40. "Favorite dance of the night … I didn't excpect that!" - Carrie Ann Inaba ET's score: 32/30. We have to admit, we were quite surprised by the former Chicago Cubs player's skills. We have no doubt he'll improve even more over the next few weeks, especially because he's in good hands with Lindsay. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater -- Cha Cha, "24K Magic" by Bruno Mars
Dance highlight: Get it, Rashad! This dance had us majorly entertained from beginning to end, but the highlight occurred mid-dance, when the 31-year-old athlete executed a strong spin, perfectly in sync with Emma (watch at 2:08). Judges' score: 31/40. "You have your own groove and flavor." - Julianne Hough ET's score: 35/40. We've seen a lot of NFL stars on this show in past seasons, but judging from Rashad's week one performance, we're calling it now -- he may be the strongest football player-turned-dancer the dance competition series has ever cast! Celebrity/fan reaction:
Heather Morris and Maksim Chmerkovskiy -- Viennese Waltz, "Make Something Beautiful" by Ben Rector
Dance highlight: The former Glee star appeared to be floating on air as she glided across the floor with Maksim. Her strengths were the multiple spins into smooth transitions Maks incorporated into the choreography, which were highlighted even more by Heather's flowy yellow dress. Our favorite? The pair's breathtaking move at the 2:17 mark. Judges' score: 28/40. "Beautiful lines." - Carrie Ann Inaba ET's score: 35/40. Heather may have prior dance experience (she's an expert in jazz!), but she's never danced ballroom before and mastering that style is no easy feat. We thought her performance was beautifully executed, and we're excited to see how much she improves over the next few weeks. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy -- Quickstep, "Good Time Good Life" by Erin Bowman
Dance highlight: The Fifth Harmony starlet was a graceful beauty, sashaying her way across the ballroom in a stunning white dress. While we couldn't keep our eyes off her seemingly perfect form, that moment she kissed Val on the cheek was surely a highlight -- and a sweet surprise! Judges' score: 27/40. "Great way to set the tone." - Julianne Hough ET's score: 32/40. The quickstep is one of the hardest ballroom styles to master, so receiving this as her week one dance was a bit unfair. Luckily, Val helped Normani get through it like a true pro! Celebrity/fan reaction:
Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess -- Cha Cha, "Move" by Luke Bryan
Dance highlight: The professional bull rider definitely has moves, and proved it in the ballroom. That kick spin in the beginning set the bar high for the pair's sexy, cowboy-themed Cha Cha. Judges' score: 22/40. "You ooze a chemistry together that is ridiculous." - Carrie Ann Inaba ET's score: 30/40. In his pre-taped interview package, Bonner teased that he was "dancing with the prettiest lady in the house" and that "things could get spicy." Well, he wasn't joking -- they certainly did! We have no doubt Sharna will amp up the chemistry next week. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd -- Cha Cha, "Let Me Love You" by DJ Snake and Tiesto feat. Justin Bieber
Dance highlight: The Bachelor star showed off a side of himself we've never really seen before Monday night, slaying Peta's choreography with fun, quick movements. His most memorable trick was at the end of the dance, when he perfectly assisted his partner in a spin on the floor. Judges' score: 24/40. "I know that you don't quit…" - Julianne Hough ET's score: 28/40. While Nick had his moments in the spotlight, our eyes kept going back to Peta. Moving forward in the competition, we think the reality star needs to step it up in order to keep up with his partner, and stay in the competition Celebrity/fan reaction:
Charo and Keo Motsepe -- Salsa, "Cuban Pete" by Mambo Compañeros
Dance highlight: Charo's still got it! A lift into an almost-backbend? We weren't expecting these moves this early on in the competition from the flamenco guitarist, but props to Keo for adding them in. Judges' score: 21/40. "You were a spicy queen of everything … you were hot, girl!" - Julianne Hough ET's score: 25/40. Let's not forget Charo is the oldest competitor this season. At 66 years old, we were highly impressed by her ability to keep up the energy and entertain us with her sassy personality throughout the dance. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Chris Kattan and Witney Carson -- Cha Cha, "What Is Love" by Haddaway
Dance highlight: Who says lifts are just for the girls? We were expecting the signature head nods from A Night at the Roxbury, but we loved that Witney surprised us by incorporating a fun lift for the Saturday Night Live veteran, executed by two male backup dancers, nonetheless, towards the middle of their routine. Judges' score: 17/40. "You pulled it off." - Len Goodman ET's score: 21/40. OK, we totally agree that Chris needs some extra time to practice, but we think the judges were way too harsh on his scoring. As Witney told ET last week, what he can do is limited due to multiple injuries and surgeries. As long as he shows fans he's ready to improve next week, we're hoping his setbacks won't cause him an early elimination. Celebrity/fan reaction:
Mr. T and Kym Johnson -- Cha Cha, the theme from The A-Team by Mike Post, Peter Carpenter and The Daniel Caine Orchestra
Dance highlight: Though there were a lot of missteps in this number (The A-Team star kept leading with the wrong foot), we salute him for his effort. That being said, the best trick from this dance was from dance pro Kym, who had one memorable high kick. Judges' score: 20/40. "The T doesn't stand for technique." - Len Goodman ET's score: 20/40. We have to agree with the judges on this one. Our advice for Mr. T moving forward? Focus on getting the steps down during rehearsals so you don't have to think about them on show day. Once the steps are ingrained in your brain, you can focus on performing the piece. Celebrity/fan reaction:

By Design: 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe
When I taught at the Art Center College of Design (Switzerland) nearly 30 years ago, there were some intriguing international students with very strong ideas about what they intended to accomplish in car design. A Danish lad, Henrik Fisker, only wanted to design sports cars. Check. Switzerland native Stephane Schwarz had similar but less fervent ideas. His first job, at Pininfarina, was the Ethos roadster. Schwarz drifted into the big volume industry for a while, but today he’s chief designer at sports-oriented Carrozzeria Zagato. American Mike Fink had a single burning desire. He wanted to work at Mercedes-Benz for Bruno Sacco, the Stuttgart firm’s distinguished and much respected design leader. He did that for his first job. I’ve long since lost track of Fink, who moved on to Asian car makers, but he told me long ago that he’d accomplished two things close to his heart while at Mercedes: He had proposed the melted two-circle, one-glass-cover headlamp design used across multiple lines, and he got his notion of a “Jaguar fighter,” a slippery fastback four-door coupe, accepted.
A slight digression concerning that label. Many people can’t accept the term coupe for a car with four seats, let alone four doors. That’s because they don’t really know what it means, as they would were manufacturers to use the equally applicable and probably more appropriate American hot rod descriptor “chopped.” The elegant French word coupé—pronounced koo-pay—just means “cut” and for cars is actually pronounced in the French way in most countries, including England. I can remember as a kid thinking that Bill Mitchell was outrageously pretentious when he said “coupe” that way in the ’50s, but the gloriously vulgar then-No. 2 at GM styling was actually correct, and we others with our [chicken?] “coops” were—and still are—wrong.
From its introduction to the world at the New York auto show in 2004, Benz’s (and Mike Fink’s) slinky CLS has been an inspiration for many firms, very specifically Aston Martin and BMW but also for a wide range of less-than-premium manufacturers (Kia Stinger, anyone?). The idea is coming back full circle to Mercedes with the 2018 Geneva auto show introduction of two such models, the third-generation CLS and its performance-oriented spiritual twin, the AMG GT 4-Door. Normal Mercedes sedans are always a bit staid and respectable, ideal for stolid burghers, police, and taxi drivers. That some adventurous citizens would like the reliability, reputation, and value of a Mercedes in sleeker form is natural and admirable. That a small subset of that group would want something truly exceptional, a high-performing near-racer four-door, seems both normal and natural. Basing this car on the style of the 911-rivaling AMG GT two-seater is equally normal and natural. The 4-Door has true presence. Its purpose and mission are absolutely—and convincingly—clear. It has a precise role to play, and it’s perfectly equipped to do its designated job. Good design. And a good idea, Mike Fink.
1. The side glass profile is very long, in three panes, ending in this sharp point a bit above the beltline, suggesting speed.
2. This Panamericana grille, as it is called internally by Mercedes designers, recalls the amazing preproduction racing 300 SLs that won the two toughest races of 1952, Le Mans and the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico.
3. The double hood bumps are suggestive of the 1955 300 SL or of earlier British Schneider Trophy racing seaplanes, wherein they provided clearance for engine elements. Here they are purely evocative and nonfunctional.
4. The slim bright accent on the bottom front corners rises diagonally to frame the lower air intake …
5. … which is closed off with this horizontal bar, carrying the baseline accent across the entire front end.
6. The purpose of this slot between the body corner and the framing piece for the corner air intakes is not evident. It seems like extra complexity for no good reason.
7. The newest status signifier is color-coded brake calipers, bronze for the fanciest and most powerful models.
8. Like the frontal trim, the brightwork does not quite reach the wheel openings, but the effect is to establish a bright baseline for the front and sides of the body.
9. This hard line has no link to anything else on the body surface, but it does draw the eye upward toward the rear as the roofline profile draws it downward, making the car slimmer and faster looking.
1. It feels all right, but the multiple straight sections of the rim are a little jarring to the eye.
2. Lots of controls on the wheel spokes, convenient perhaps but seriously unattractive.
3. It’s amusing that electronic images of nonexistent mechanical round dials are still the preferred way to present data. It would be good if someone would seriously study how to present vital information … and no more than that.
4. Graphics in the center are good, but they’re not really self-explanatory.
5. This curved line across the entire panel, sweeping into the door inner panels, is extremely graceful and agreeable to the eye and to the touch.
6. The flow of wood grain across the panel is interesting and speaks highly of the way in which the interiors are executed. Every example we’ve seen, in reality or in photos, is quite beautiful and quite individual.
7. The central console is very wide, nicely padded, and fairly boring visually, neither elegant, technical, nor in any way inspiring.
8. The soft-finished metal panel on the controls section of the console looks too much like an economy car component. Disappointing.
9. The extended-length lozenges eliminate the Chairman Mao’s Jacket feel of Bentleys but are not what one would hope for in a car like this. I get no sense of superior capability, as I do in the far better exterior design. It’s OK but definitely notgreat. Too bad.
10. Typical German lighting control: too low, too hard to read. Best memorize the functions, owner’s manualin hand.
1. One has the impression of corner knots in this view, but in fact the cut line between lamp cover and wheel opening is quite fluid.
2. Apparently the 8-millimeter dip from cant rail down to roof surface is exactly—but exactly—what is needed to keep the side glasses clear in rain. An engineering requirement to which stylists must adhere. Who knew?
3. The bumps are subtle here. Their execution varies with each application at Mercedes, sometimes sharp or with a crease or soft like this.
4. The horizontal bars behind the main grille are replicated at the same pitch in the corner inlets. They are unobtrusive here but a bit too present above in the real car.
1. The trunklid cut line links the inner points of the taillights and establishes a discouraging liftover height for luggage. The price of raciness, finally.
2. The simple backlight is set into the overall form, as is the central part of the roof panel.
3. It’s not quite picket fences, but to allow rear windows to descend, there have to be demarcations between fixed rear quarter windows and fixed and movable door glasses.
4. The beltline has van extreme amount of crown, peaking in the rear door itself.
5. There’s no particular need for a trim piece here, but it’s currently de rigueur on almost everything, so why not here?
6. The front end falls away sharply and is chamfered in plan view, but you do get a glimpse of the headlamp lens from behind for safety.
7. This rear corner outlet is apparently a style mark for all AMG cars, sometimes fake, sometimes functional. On this GT 63 S there’s a black grille inside.
8. The rear body is quite thick. To disguise this, much of the bottom is blacked out.
9. Very big exhaust outlets bespeak very big power. Brightwork is nice, but it might have been more convincing if everything had been black. They seem to hang well below the painted body section.
10. There’s a lot going on in the diffuser section of the tail, but it’s difficult to discern, even up close on the show stand.

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 24 Premiere: Best Lifts, Kicks, Tricks and Flips!
The season 24 premiere of Dancing With the Stars was full of sweet surprises!
We've covered all the big moments from Tuesday's show HERE, but now, we're breaking down each piece of choreography.
But what Simone and Sasha did on that stage Tuesday night was stronger than some of the performances we've seen from past contestants during their fourth or fifth weeks in the competition.
Dance highlight: The Bachelor star showed off a side of himself we've never really seen before Tuesday night, slaying Peta's choreography with fun, quick movements.
