DAZAI — tries to find alone time together and seek intimacy

you think dazai has been talking nonstop recently. he yaps a lot, always bothering kunikida or you during work. but since a few weeks ago, he’s been way more playful than usual. constantly following you around, whining and tugging at your sleeves. he’d drag you to the couch and talk about his day, facts, and new discoveries. anything, just anything to hold your attention, to find an excuse to stare into your beautiful eyes lovingly. to have some peace and quiet from his chaotic mind and maybe fall asleep on your shoulders because your presence grounds him.

CHUUYA — drives you around and take late-night bike rides

chuuya is always ready to drive you to and fro. he offers to drive you around all the time, and you think his gestures are really sweet (who’s gonna tell y/n?). after school? he’s ready to pick you up outside your university campus. of course, he only drives you when he’s free, which is all the time because he clears his schedule for you. he offers to drive you home after every failed job interview, ready with tissue and your favourite ice cream in the passenger seat. on nights when you need a temporary escape, he’s already outside your apartment with his red bike and an extra helmet in his hand. even if the world fails you, he’d still be here on your loneliest rides.

ATSUSHI — takes strolls with you and walks you home

atsushi loves his strolls with you. simple strolls like going for lunch or buying supplies for the agency make his heart full. he had been so used to being alone all the time, but ever since you offered to stroll with him that one time, he couldn’t stop thinking about it. it meant a lot to him, and now he asks you to go on strolls instead. hell, he doesn’t have to ask, because it’s a routine. he waits for you to pack up your desk and you both leave together to walk home. the wind blows your hair, and you walk with both hands behind your back in comfortable silence. often in the sunset, on the way home, atsushi hopes that one day he’s able to stroll into your heart.

AKUTAGAWA — volunteers to go on missions with you

akutagawa is not one to be obvious about his crush, so he shows it in a super duper not obvious way. he requests to go on more missions with you, to keep you safe and spend time on the battlefield. mori thinks it’s weird. akutagawa putting in special requests to go with y/n all the time? that’s unlike him. that’s right, because he’s a fool in love right now. the way you fight is mesmerising him, and he was almost shot dead that one time (by a cupid, who knows?) if it wasn’t for you who jumped in. he likes the way you revel in fighting, which is similar to his bloodlust. he stands behind you during missions, guarding you, and his heart.

FYODOR — plays his cello for you

fyodor plays his cello for everyone, including his victims before they were killed, so it wasn’t anything special. that’s what you thought, and you were dead wrong. he’d learn classical pieces you like in hopes of hearing you compliment him. his pretty and slender fingers would be calloused, but he didn’t mind. it’s all for you. he’d invite you over for tea often and have you listen to him play the cello for hours. his cello might be off-tune, but his heart isn’t.

NIKOLAI — tries to make you laugh

nikolai noticed how you liked to laugh. your laughter is light and playful, with a touch of whimsy that brings a smile to his face. the decay of angel members aren’t amused by his usual antics, but you liked it. you’d giggle at his silliness and his heartbeat quickens. he scrambles to be dramatic again, pulling a rose out of his coat and handing it to you. you giggle again. he likes (a huge understatement) the sound of your laughter; he thinks he needs to hear it ten times a day (or maybe even more). because the day you stop laughing is the day he’s gone.

Chuuya instantly feels terrible when he sees his s/o crying. He would give them a hug to comfort them and try to calm them down. He will start comforting his s/o by saying things like (Don't worry, everything is fine) or (It's okay) he also will assure them that he is there for them and that they can tell him everything that bothers them. He will also try to cheer his s/o up by making jokes and trying to distract them with other activities, he wants them to feel safe and comfortable in his company.

Akutagawa would probably be caught off-guard and confused if his partner suddenly burst into tears out of the blue. He might not know how to react at first, but would quickly become concerned and try to comfort them. He might ask his partner what was wrong or if they wanted to talk about it, trying to get to the root of the problem and finding out what had made his partner cry. If his partner needed a shoulder to cry on, Akutagawa would be there to provide that and provide any support they may need.

he would take you around yokohama and have so much fun with you; it's like he's a child again.

"y/n! y/n- baby!" he ran toward your sleeping figure, moments after he woke up and got ready for the day. that was until he noticed the white snow that fell from the sky. his eyes sparkled as he quickly dropped his hair brush and ran out of the bathroom.

"mmmmh!" you stirred awake, pulling the covers off your body and looked at your lively boyfriend who had that smile...the smile you loved waking up to every morning.

"did you look out the windowwwww?" he grinned, pratically shaking hin his socks out of excitment.

you were still half asleep when you sat upward and looked out the other open window thanks to atsushi.

you smiled, looking back at your boyfriend who jumped into the bed with you, smiling from ear to ear.

"thats the reason you woke me up? was because you wanted to show me the snow?"

he instantly felt guilty, "i'm sorry- you looked so peaceful, but i couldn't help myself- ITS SNOWING, Y/N! SNOWING!"

you couldn't help but laugh at your childish boyfriend. you cupped his face and kissed his lips passionaly for a couple of seconds before pulling away; "then you better get your tiger butt downstairs and eat breakfast; otherwise the longer you take the longer we'll have being out on our, apparently now, winter date!"

he ran

he fell.

he chanted "yes".

he did all three as he kissed you once more and grabbed your wrist and took him with him.

"ahatsushi wait- lemme get my clothes on!"

an hour later, you and atsushi were already outside and in the snow. he made sure you were all dresses properly for the weather while he only was half ready.

he doesn't want you to get sick; he almost forgot about his own health for a second.

the entire walk was him smiling and you holding his hands as you both talked.

once you both reached the park he was the first to announce a snowball fight, catching you completly off guard and called it game on.

you both got side eyed a couple if times by adults with their own kids. here you both were, both in your early adulthood and running around the park, throwing snow at each other like little kids.

none of you cared though, the both if you had a blast and it was just getting started.

i dont see him as a huge fan of the snow...

he hates being cold, in my opinion.

he would want his first date with you to be inside somewhere warm, like a theater or a fancy resturant.

but what happens when his partner loves the snow, and pratically begs him to come outside with them?

the two of you were cuddled up together in the bed you two shared in your apartment. well- more like you were cuddled up to his side while his hands were in your hair and face in his chest.

his soft snores caused you to stir awake, and when you wake up he usually does as well. both if you are pretty lighy sleepers. the slightest of noises could awake you both.

as your eyes flutter open you feel his hands tangled in your hair. you queitly tried to untangle them, until he moved them himself...his hands rubbed his eyes as he streches awake.

you smiles softly at your boyfriend who stirred awake as you yawned. you follwed him after by streching yourself, "morning~" you whispered, leaning over to kiss his forhead.

he hums in response, trying to find your hands in the mess of blankets and kisses them, "good morning.."

akutagawa is the first to get out of bed, and as his feet touch the cold floor he feels a shiver run up his spine.

"did you leave the open last night again?"

you now stood up from the bed, streching down to touch your toes as you groan, standing back up straight. "did i?"

you looked by the large window close to the edge of your bed and chuckled, "must've forgotten to close it..."

"idiot..close it- its freezing in here." he spoke again, grabbing his coat from the closet and quickly throwing it on him.

you walked towars the window, but as soon as you were able to close it your eyes caught the glimpse of a whitle spot fall from the sky.

with a gasp, followee by a squeal akutagawa turns around quickly. "what? whats wrong?"

you looked back at him with a huge smile, him heart unknowingly skipping a beat at the sight of it.

"its snowing!! akutagawa its snowing!!" you jump in your spot before opening the curtain more so he could see, much to his dissapointment you didnt notice his cringe face at the sight at the white roads and snow.

"we can build snowmen! ooh, and have snowball fights!!-"

"y/n-"

"oooo or make snow angels and put little faces on them!-"

"i used to love them as a kid, my grandmother showed it-"

you yelp as you feel yourself get pulled up in the air. you look at your arms to see that your boyfriends ability held you up as hebsat on the bed and pulled you toward him.

he looks up as you look down at him, a small pout on your face.

"we...are not going outside in that weather!"

"waaaaa? why not!?"

"because i said so!"

"stupid reason!"

"its freezing outside, i dont need you getting sick!!"

"i'll be careful, aku, pleeeeasseeee we'll be together!!" you whined, kicking your legs in the air behind you as your still hoisted up by rashomon.

"we can be together in here! besides, im sure that weretiger will be there..."

"dont let atsushi be the only reason not to go!"

you raise an eyebrow at your boyfriend, who sighs and rubs his face.

"fine- if we go, promise me its only an hour?"

you nod your head happily as he sets you down on the bed, you yelped as you jumoed gently on the sheets and started to get akutagawa and yourself ready.

akutagawa grumbles under his breath, more like scarf, as you two reach the park and finds more of the ada there was well. you see atsushi, kenji and kyouka building a snowman, and the boy notices you two and waves over for you both to come over.

you looked back at akutagawa and stuck your hand out for him to take, "remember...only an hour? then we can go home and watch movies with hot cocco!"

you tried to bargen with him, which worked as he took your hand and muttered out "fine" and you rushed over to the others.

he just couldn't wait to get home and alone with you. thats all he wanted.

well...it doesnt ruin the date.

he just...wasnt expecting it.

however, thankfully he wrote down just what to do itnit does snow the day of both your first dates!

"sweetheart, i asked you nicely now i expect you to follow what i say!" he speaks as if he's talking to a five year old, which he sometimes he thinks he is!

"but- kunikidaaaaa its too heavy!" was your only reply for the last 30 minutes. he thought you two would be outside ready, but no you just didn't want to put the jacket on.

he just tosses the jacket to you as you groan and put the jacket on. "there- CAN WE GO NOW!"

you smiled, but he walked up to you and zipped up your jacket for you and then nods.

"there...now we can go.." sometimes he wonders how he puts up with both you and dazai.

you cheered as you grabbed his arm and hopped up and down.

"okay- lets find a clean patch of snow, then we gently-"

he stopped talking when he saw you race forward in the park and jumped into the snow that was stepped on by multiple people and sighed noticing your hat has flown away and onto a tree branch as you did.

I‘ve been getting some spurts of writing energy lately so feel free to send in some requests!

Chuuya

His head jerks up when he feels your head hit his shoulder and your sleeping form is first met with an irritated scowl which quickly vanishes and his mouth closed as he was ready to give a piece of his mind to whoever dared to just touch him without permission once Chuuya notices who it is.

As the other mafia member nervously tries to get back his attention to the report they were giving, they‘re met with nothing less of a death stare from their higher-up before excusing themself.

Once they‘re gone Chuuya wraps an arm around you and pulls you close, gaze not leaving your face as his hand unconsciously caresses your side, small blush on his cheeks. It could have been a few minutes or hours at this point he spent just focused on you, he couldn‘t tell at this moment.

Whenever someone comes close or speaks in a volume above a whisper in the hall you were in, they‘re met with a simple stare from him which quickly shuts them up. You were tired enough to fall asleep while you were assigned to oversee this cargo shipment with him, you need your goddamn rest and anyone who dared to disturb that was faced with the redheads wrath.

When something does manage to stir you awake, another member or the sound of the cargo being shipped, you can feel Chuuya slightly squeezing you, „Go back to sleep. I‘m waiting for a special wine delivery anyways.“ His hat was drawn down a bit in an attempt to hide the small blush on his cheeks as you let your eyes fall closed again.

He kept sitting there with you until long after the cargo was taken care of and the sun was setting. After all, there was no special shipment that day.

Akutagawa

After his initial shock his head snapped towards your sleeping form with a mix of anger and irritation on his face. Although as soon as he realized it was you his expression softened and his cheeks were graced with a small hue of red.

Akutagawa was basically frozen in the moment, not sure how to handle this situation but as he feels you stir against him he didn‘t even have to think about what he was doing as Rashoumon came out to wrap itself around you and slightly press you against him.

While his blush deepended he tried to put on an indifferent front, though everyone just glancing your direction could see how nervous he was. He tried to focus on his work but couldn‘t get anything done, his mind and gaze involuntary wandering towards you and he scolds himself whenever he catches himself.

Quite some time later your head rolls off his shoulder and is caught by Rashoumon, but still you wake up from the force, blinking to orient yourself as you saw Akutagawa looking at you with a worried expression, although he did try to hide it. A soft, „I‘m sorry“ escaped your lips, answered by a hushed, „Don‘t be.“

He lightly guided your head back to his shoulder with his hand as he focused back on his work or at least tried to, „Go back to sleep, rest a bit longer. You seem to need it.“

~I feel like he would easily fall in love with you.He would probably love someone who loves and has patience bc Im pretty sure he would have mental breakdowns a lot or just his insecurites getting the best of him.So,when you showed him much kindness and welcomed him into the agency, he couldn’t help but fall in love with you.

~He would be shy and flustered if you gave him any affection in public, so he prefers to give you affections in private. But honestly, he won’t mind hand-holding or you giving him a hug or kiss. (but just prepared to have flustered tiger boi at your side).

~I feel like he would cry a bit bc hes just happy to have you around someone like him. Besides blushing, he would be emotional if you treat him so gently, as if he would break if you made any rough movement.but no really tho, treat him well, baby has been through a lot.

~Please- why do I feel like dazai would stalk you both and watch you two act all lovey-dovey with each other. Dazai would probably tease both of you ALOT. Dazai would also be Atsushi’s wingman, giving him tips on how to impress you and what places to take you out on bc I think we all know that Dazai is a bit of player and he would know what people would like. (especially if you’re a girl or Identify as one)

~Cuddles with him are the best.His tiger instincts get the best of him and he purrs sometimes, which he gets really embarrassed when it first happened.He would clingy too ngl.And my lord, if you kiss his scars and call him beautiful,he would cry a waterfall.

~Going back to the last line of the previous sentence I mentioned. He would have breakdowns and have his insecurities get the best of him. He would think that hes so lucky to have such an amazing person by his side. But he would also think that you don’t deserve someone like him or that you deserve someone else just not him. Just shut him with a kiss and comfort him.And don’t think for a second that he won’t comfort you as well. Though he might not be good at it as much as you, atleast he tries right?

~He honestly loves you alot and he hopes that this relationship will long last forever. <3

~Ryunosuke Akutagawa~

~Oml say hello to emotions Akutagawa, Idk how you two got together but here we are. Again, let’s assume your in the port mafia. You came after Dazai left the port mafia.

~I think, Akutagawa would be,by far, the most stubborn man in this show when it comes to actually recognizing his feelings for you.He wouldn’t like to admit that he fell in love with you,just another nuisance in his life.What makes you so special? he would think.

~I also feel like he would ask gin about his feelings as he is completely oblivious to them.Gin would just tell him that he’s in love, that he has romantic feelings for someone.He would be shocked tbh.Gin and Chuuya would be his wingman and wingwoman. Chuuya would give him advice on the best places to take you out on.

~He would want to keep the relationship private just between you,him,chuuya and Gin. He doesn’t want to lose you or get you hurt just bc of him. Dazai would feel happy for Akutagawa as aku finally found someone to care for him and give him the love aku never received. ~He’s very protective of you and would keep you safe at all times.With affection tho- It would take a while to get used to it as he is not used to it.He would like to only hold your hand in public, the other affections are kept in private. I feel like his love language would be acts of service bc he likes feeling useful to the people he really loves, one of those people being you! He would cook for you if you wanted him or just give a massage and do things for you.And also Gifts! you would get some gifts from a certain someone bc hes rich af.

~If you give him praise about the things he’s doing for you, he would just brush it off as another opinion from you but you can see that little faint blush on his face.He would love hearing praises from you since he wasn’t given much. I feel like he would love you if you actually meant those praises.Im not saying that he would dislike it if you just gave him praises randomly, he would like them but he would be a bit flustered if you gave praise after he did something for you.

~Cuddles with him would be a bit awkward at first bc he would be stiff if you hugged him or tried to cuddle him at the beginning of your guy’s relationship.But, he would slowly try to relax with you.Try to be slow with your affections bc he will malfunction if you just give him lots of affection, though I don’t think he would mind being pampered once in a while.

~My guy also has trauma within him and an illness. he would appreciate you if you actually took the time to make sure he was okay even tho he says he’s fine.He would rant sometimes about Dazai and you don’t really mind it.He would be a bit bad at comforting you but he tries with the help of his sister,gin giving him advice.

~He really loves you but he just has a hard time expressing it- just be patient with him and he would be comfortable expressing his love for you. :)

"GO TO SLEEP" - akutagawa ryuunosuke

✁akutagawa, of all people, puts you to sleep. warning : slight mentions of death.

"i told you to sleep hours ago."

your thumb freezes from the voice coming from behind you, preventing you from scrolling deeper through whatever social media platform you were occupying yourself with, it didn't really matter at the moment. you thought of pretending to sleep, but it's probably to late for that, and akutagawa is not stupid. he knows you've been awake for too long.

closing your phone, you shuffle around the futon and looked up to your boyfriend, who was already dressed and ready for work. he starts fairly early in the morning, before dawn, then arrives way past dusk. catching him before he left for work was a common occasion, but he didn't really like it. waking up to see you still awake, fiddling with your phone, irritates him endlessly and has given you reminders to get to sleep earlier, but to his unfortune, it's no use.

"i'll be fine, love. off you go." you tuck your hands under the pillow under your head, giving him a soft smile. akutagawa, however, was unfazed. his stare almost disintegrates your eyes from how harsh he was staring, but you got the message. sighing, you lift your phone towards his direction. "here, you can place it somewhere far. i won't touch it."

"how am i so sure that you won't just stand up and get it after i'm gone?" he takes your phone anyway, but makes no move to tuck it inside his pocket or place it on top of the wardrobe.

"do you not trust me? i'm hurt, love."

"no, i don't. unfortunately, i can't trust you with yourself." he walks over to your side of the futon and sits besides you, placing your phone somewhere on the floor. you shift your gaze towards him, his face still unreadable and blank. he knows that you've been staying up all night recently, with no particular reason. you weren't doing any work or anything of the sort, and you were beyond tired because of the events during the morning of, but somehow you force yourself to stay up until the sun rises and it's time for you to start the day again. akutagawa is aware of this, he's been seeing you wide awake at ungodly hours for too many times. you claim that you just woke up and were trying to lull yourself back to sleep, but he knows better than that.

"i'm okay, ryuu. seriously, you should go." you tuck your hands inside the covers, feeling the strain on your eyes, drowsiness following after. your half-lidded stare causes him to sigh and place his palm over your eyes to guide them to close, then moving his hand to your hair to gently scratch your scalp.

the feeling of his calloused fingers running through your hair brings a shiver down your spine, a tingling sensation running down your neck and over your shoulders. suddenly, all the clenched muscles in your body relaxes and you slump down on the futon. with a soft hum, you whisper, "that feels nice."

you can't see him, and you don't wanna open your eyes to strain them any further, but you're sure that he has this contented look on his face. the same face he always wears when he does something for you, a ghost of a smile on his lips and a slight blush on his cheeks. he loves doing things for you, knowing that he's the one who's helping you become comfortable and happy. usually, at his own hands, he brings the demise of hundreds of people, giving them hell and suffering, but with you, his hands bring you the upmost joy. his hands, which end the lives of many, delicately touches you just to bring you warmth, the absolute opposite of himself.

just after a few moments pass, he hears your breathing steady and soft snores leaving your lips. he brushes the hair off of your forehead and kisses the skin just below your hairline, careful not to wake you. with a swift motion, he's grabbing your phone off of the floor and stands up, turning off all your alarms set for only a few hours later. he figures that you needed the sleep more.

Bungo Stray Dogs Headcanons, but it’s only the characters that I think deserve more attention

I'm currently on a BSD kick, so have these headcanons while I feel ✨Inspired✨

I'll take requests for other characters, these two are just the only ones I have inspiration for right now.

Tw: Aku’s a yandere so yeah. He’s also kinda just a violent disaster of a person in general.

Ryuunosuke Akutagawa

🖤‼️ I got one word for you, and that word is Yandere. Are you surprised? You shouldn't be. If you manage to catch his eye, he will kill to keep you by his side. He’s certainly a dangerous one, so watch your back! Yes, he will kidnap you. You kinda brought this on yourself by searching ‘Akutagawa x reader’

🖤‼️He has no idea what love is, actually. He just knows that the world is a dangerous place and he’s the only one strong enough to protect you. It’s going to be a while before he can put a name to this strange feeling, so just sit tight while he figures it out.

🖤‼️Gets a lot of advice from Chuuya, mostly. It’s not that everyone else doesn’t already know that he’s helplessly in love with you, it’s that they’re all scared of him. Chuuya is the only one who isn’t, and thusly he is the advice giver. He actually gives surprisingly good advice, despite his rather angry personality.

🖤‼️It’ll be a while before he trusts anyone else around you. Eventually, you’ll basically be an honorary member of the Port Mafia, but for the LONGEST time he refuses to let anyone else even speak to you. Chuuya does not give a fuck, and visits you while Aku’s out on a mission. Don’t worry, Short Ginger’s got your back. He’ll be your best buddie and wingman.

🖤‼️He has absolutely no clue how to socialize like a normal person. You think Dazai took the time out of his busy schedule to teach Aku how to function socially? Absolutely not. He was too busy turning Aku into the perfect killing machine. Aku is incredibly blunt and literal about everything, and he takes everything way too seriously. 90% of jokes will fly straight over his head, which is pretty funny in its own right.

🖤‼️Gin is the first person Aku trusted with you. She’s his sister, after all. You’ll likely become friends with her, which pleases Aku. He wants all the important people in his life to get along.

🖤‼️If you’re not already a secret badass, become one. Just trust me. Aku is very into that. If you suddenly whip out a gun and save his ass by shooting a bitch without hesitation, he’ll be hooked forever. He’ll be so stunned in the moment that he won’t be able to function properly. Remember that scene in season 3, episode 11? Where he just said yes to everything? Yeah he relapses into that.

🖤‼️Please validate him. Tell him he’s the best and the strongest. He needs to hear it from somebody he cares about. And maybe try to convince him to not seek after Dazai’s validation so much. Does his opinion really even matter? I mean, he certainly doesn’t seem to care about Aku.

🖤‼️He spends more time in the infirmary than out of it. This hard-headed idiot pushes himself well past the limits of what his frail body can handle LITERALLY EVERY FIGHT. You’re going to be spending a lot of time sitting by his hospital bed hoping he’ll wake up from whatever coma he’s currently in. Somebody needs to tell him not to push himself so hard, and it may as well be you.

🖤‼️Please make him take care of himself. Force feed him if you have to, but this boy needs a sandwich. Good gracious, he’s a fucking toothpick. There is no meat on his little toothpick bones. Make him bathe, too. At least make him wash his hair and put on deodorant.

🖤‼️No, he will not let you steal his coat. He will get you a matching one, if it’s really that important to you.

🖤‼️Aku opposes physical affection at first, especially in public. He can’t have people thinking he’s a softie! Eventually, he’ll warm up to it. Only in private, though. Unless he happens to be jealous. Then he needs to show this other guy who you belong to.

🖤‼️Over all, probably the third most dangerous pick in the show. First being Fyodor, and second being Shibusawa Tatsuhiko. It’s not that he lacks power or ruthlessness, just that he has a very obvious issue that can be fixed with some hard work and dedication. He needs lots of validation, and to have some sense beaten into him from time to time.

Edgar Allen Poe

🤎🦝 Oh gosh I love this underrated mf so much- there really isn't enough content of this sweet introvert baby- Anyway, Poe is the sweetest, shyest little bean pole. I think he would like someone who won't abandon him at parties. *ahem* ranpo *ahem* He would also love it if you would read his stories and give him positive feedback. Please. Just do it. He deserves it.

🤎🦝He does have some… interesting… mood swings. Honestly, he can be moodier than most girls on their periods (i can say that, because I’M a girl). One minute he’ll be happy and cheerful, and the next he’ll be Tamaki-Amajiki-ing in the corner. If you don’t know what that means, go watch My Hero Academia. 

🤎🦝He and Karl are a packaged deal, obviously. I’m sorry if you have some deathly fear of raccoons (if you do, then why the heck are you simping for raccoon man??) but that’s how it is. Karl is his best buddie, and will be your best buddie too. Look on the bright side, you get to pet a fluffy raccoon!

🤎🦝You met during one of the ADA’s office parties, which Poe attended to show Ranpo his latest novel. Unfortunately, Ranpo is easily distracted and abandoned poor Poe within five minutes. Seeing the incredibly nervous introvert in the corner, you decided to talk to him. Congratulations! You now have a second shadow! Poe is so incredibly insecure in social situations that he will cling to you for as long as you’re willing to put up with him, even if you’re also introverted.

🤎🦝If you like to write, he would love to read your writing! He’ll give you pointers on how to make your writing better. Y’all meet up regularly to discuss your latest projects, read each other’s work, and give each other tips and ideas.

🤎🦝He is WAY too shy to confess to you on his own. He writes so many letters, but never has the courage to send them. He also practices with Karl daily, and still can’t handle the pressure. Somebody please help him-

🤎🦝He tries to ask Ranpo for advice (probably a bad idea) and Ranpo outs him immediately. (“Oh, you’re crushing on y/n, aren’t you?”) Ranpo advises him to just confess already. The World’s Greatest Detective definitely already knows that you’re crushing on Poe. It doesn’t take a genius to see how much you’re pining for each other!

🤎🦝Cafe dates!! Library dates!! Anywhere decently quiet and calm. Poe really doesn’t like large crowds, so maybe no big social gatherings. He enjoys just relaxing at home and reading next to you.

🤎🦝Loves physical affection, but is so so so shy about initiating it. Please just grab him and snuggle him so he doesn’t have to worry about it. Hold his hand! Give him kisses, if you can reach! He absolutely loves to cuddle. With how tall he is, he makes a great big spoon. He could probably just envelope your entire body with his.

🤎🦝Apparently he’s also rich?? Not certain if this is canon (edit: it is!!!) or not but we’re going with it anyway. That way, he can spoil you. If you like to read, he will buy you so many books. You’ll never have time to read them all. Artist? He’ll buy you art supplies! Any other hobbies? Taken care of. Saw a cute necklace/dress/outfit/whatever? It’s on your doorstep within a week.

🤎🦝All in all, a phenomenal pick. Perhaps the best in the show (in my opinion, anyway). Yeah he’s super clingy and insecure, and has some interesting mood swings, but he’s still just a good lad who deserves all the love in the world. Plus he has a pet raccoon, and that’s just really cool.

Thank You for Worrying

Notes: Of course you can! Hopefully this is up to snuff with what you were looking for, it took a while for me to write due to lack of given direction, but I hope it came out okay in the end!

Warnings: Slight description of injuries! Port Mafia! reader!!

Characters: Akutagawa Ryuunosuke, GN!Reader, mentions of Atsushi, Gin, Higuchi, Tachihara, etc.

Life in the Port Mafia was nothing like you’d expected it to be.

Given the details of the work, you sure hadn’t walked in thinking it would be all sunshine and roses, but you certainly hadn’t expected to form some of the closest bonds you’d come across in your entire life.

You were extremely close with the Black Lizard, Tachihara and Gin especially, and you considered Higuchi to be one of your best friends.

You were also considerably close to the weretiger from the Armed Detective Agency, after having many joint missions together to allow you to get to know him better. Now, you take him out to get chazuke on a semi-regular basis.

And then, there’s Ryuunosuke.

You weren’t sure how you got to be so lucky. You had somehow managed to work your way into the heart of the mafioso that didn’t take shit from anybody, who only wished to receive praise from his former mentor, and now you were one of the people that he held the most dear.

The relationship wasn’t easy, not by a long shot.

Ryuu’s self-preservation instincts left something to be desired, as was evident by the number of times he’d come home sporting some new wound that required tending to. 

Which, of course, led you to now. You sat facing him on the couch of his lavish apartment, tongue poking from between your lips as you carefully dabbed rubbing alcohol on a large gash on Akutagawa’s forearm.

“I’m completely fine,” Akutagawa tried to insist, poorly suppressing a wince as you gently pressed your cloth over the wound.

“Uh huh,” you hummed, unimpressed when you lifted your gaze to meet his. “If you’d left this any longer, it could have gotten infected, which is really dangerous for you, if you’d take the time to recall.”

As if you prove your point, Akutagawa turned his head away, lifting his un-injured arm to cough into his elbow, grimacing as he did. “I’d be fine,” he said quietly. “Mori’s a doctor, he’d be able to fix it.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Would he?” you asked bluntly. “Or would he take that as a sign of weakness and do you in right then and there?”

A muscle in Akutagawa’s jaw jumped, but he made no move to argue. You were right, after all. The Port Mafia boss wasn’t exactly known for his kindness. If he thought he found a weak link, he would stop at nothing to snuff it out.

Sighing heavily, you returned the rubbing alcohol to the medical kit and tossed the towel you’d been using on the table. You’ll grab it later, if you remember.

You nuzzle into Akutagawa’s side, closing your eyes as you made yourself comfortable. “As upset as I am with you because you got upset, I’m happy that you made it home alive.”

Akutagawa stiffened at the contact, still unused to physical affection even after six months of dating (though he had definitely improved with reactions between then and now) before he relaxed slightly, bringing an arm to wrap around your waist.

“Thank you,” he murmured, his voice gravelly and awkward as he spoke. “Aside from Gin, hardly anyone else has cared about my wellbeing before.”

You cracked open an eye to smile at him. “Of course I worry,” you replied easily. “I love you.”

Akutagawa didn’t respond, opting to close his eyes and lean his head against yours.

DAZAI — cosy colouring book date at home

dazai recently bought colouring books from the bookstore. he said along the lines of “exploring creativity,” but really, he’s just lazy and broke for outdoor dates. you didn’t mind, though; quality time is still time spent with your lover.

worn out faber castell colour pencils are splayed out on his futon, and you both are lying on your stomachs. he kicks his legs and fills the empty pages with different colours. a peaceful and quiet retreat from the world with dazai gently humming a song you can’t quite make out, only to be disturbed by the gentle sounds and laughter of lovers.

“why’s the penguin yellow?” you giggle, and he pouts.

“have you seen club penguin? all the penguins have different cute colours!” he shades another penguin green and you rolled your eyes. “that game is dead, though..” you remarked, and he scoffed playfully. “not dead in my heart."

being childish and immature with the right person truly heals your inner child.

CHUUYA — aquarium (his mayoi card!!)

chuuya’s gloved hand held your hand as you both strolled through the tanks. your fingers traced the outlines of the fish as they swam close. he points at an ugly fish and laughs, “it looks like you." your jaw drops because that fish was actually ugly. it was your turn to exact revenge, and you point towards a small fry fish, saying, “and that’s you." you stick your tongue out at him and his mouth twitches in amusement. talk shit get hit.

your fish and his fish swam to each other and circled in a dance. he chuckles, “maybe that’s actually us,” he watches the fish swim away, and you beamed, “we could rule the fish kingdom together!” his eyes soften when he sees your bright smile illuminated under the blue aquarium light, before he smirks again.

“yeah yeah, you don’t even know how to swim,” ouch. there’s some truth in his words, and you can only sigh. fishes are naturally good at swimming, so it wouldn’t be a problem if you guys were one.

he sends you both back home by piggybacking you and zipping through the city. you hold your shoes in one hand after a long day of walking, and you grip the shark plushie he won at the aquarium in another.

ATSUSHI — cuddling in a pillow fort

you throw a blanket over the pillow fort you and atsushi have built in the last ten minutes. he struggles to let the fairy lights stay put as he pulls them around the fort.

“get in already!” you pat the spot beside you impatiently, and he crawls in. your laptop rests on his right thigh and your left thigh, sharing a movie screen. it’s a movie marathon on a rainy day. the horror movie plays, and atsushi hides his face in your neck when a jump scare appears.

lightning flashes outside and thunder roars, sending the poor boy flinching a little. you felt bad, so you decided to call off the marathon (not even one movie in) “okay no more, we can just cuddle." you close the laptop screen, and he lays on your lap. your fingers twirl his soft hair, and he purrs softly. atsushi’s soft purring and the soft pitter-patter of the raindrops outside lull you to sleep. you lay your back against the fort gently, eyes closed and relaxed with your lover.

AKUTAGAWA — cat cafe

it took a lot of convincing for akutagawa to go on this date. he didn’t like going to a cafe with the same species and animal family as atsushi. he agreed anyway because he didn’t want to see you upset (good).

you sat on the floor and wiggled a feather toy around while akutagawa fed lickable treats. many cats surrounded him and rubbed their bodies against his thighs. a white cat that oddly resembles a tiger approaches him, and he moves the treat away.

“ryu, you’re so mean.” you clicked your tongue and fed the white cat some of your treats. “it looks like jinko.” he grumbled and stared at the cat with his void eyes. at this point atsushi is your boyfriend’s boyfriend.

akutagawa uses his ability to create a mini cat tower for the cats surrounding him. you can’t help but giggle at his helplessness when the cats jump on him. they seem like to him a lot, well, except for that one cat he denied of treats.

on your way back home, you told him he looked like a tuxedo cat. he only cocks an eyebrow at you, not questioning your weird comparison.

RANPO — dessert tasting

a flyer comes into the agency’s mail, and ranpo is already dragging you down the busy afternoon streets. “come y/n, we have to go. it’s an important mission.” his grabs your wrist tightly and enters the cafe. mission? at a cafe?

what came into the mail was a notice for a dessert tasting at a cafe before their grand opening. ranpo could already discern the flyer’s content when atsushi walked in with a bunch of letters. who in the right mind would turn down free sweet treats? obviously not ranpo.

the waitress brings out pastries after pastries, and ranpo pushes his glasses up, acting like a food critic.

“hm, these scones are not sweet enough. the texture is too chewy.” he moves on and shoves a spoonful of gelato into his mouth. “i like the gelato. it’s sweet for my liking.” he nods approvingly, and you laugh, wiping the cream off the edge of his mouth. “slow down, the greatest food critic. we’re here to enjoy the desserts too.”

“if they don’t want to lose a customer like me, then i’d better say something about their recipe before their grand opening.” he’s got a point. you doubt he’d actually frequent this cafe, though, because he only came today for free desserts. you both get ramune to cleanse your palate afterwards (not that it helps).

chuuya took your hand and pointed at the boss as you followed his finger, "this is for your next mission! if you don't want to get yourself killed because "you forgot" don't expect me to rescue your ass!"

we all know he will anyway if you really needed his help.

he kinds it cute when you zone out when your bored.

your eyes are just glued to anything, the wall, the floor, the tv, a piece of furniture, or even him.

he once caught you starting at him, and he hasn't told you

"you're so cute~" he would kiss your temple as your zoned out, and that would knock you out of your trance, "hm? what did you say chuuya?"

"i said 'i like your boots'"

sometimes he gets annoyed. but he also knows your trying your best to not get distracted by the smallest of things so much, so he's not as annoyed.

"dude, is your partner okay?" tachihara would whisper over to chuuya, who looked up from his book and saw you laid down on the floor staring at the ceiling.

your body in a star position.

"they're fine. don't worry, i'm used to it."

well that just makes it better!!

"done! babe, have you finished your papers?" atsushi peeks over your shoulder to see nothing but a blank page.

cue his shocked face thingy idk but he makes that face

"y/n! i gave you one page to finish-"

atsushi saw your eyes locked onto the door, watching it open and close each time someone walked through it in and out.

the pen in your hand spun arouns your fingers as your other hand was resting on your chin.

with a sigh, he would take your paper and finish it for you.

moments after just looking at you, not in a weird way but in a way to see when you'll get out of your trance, your boyfriend tickles your sides..

that brought you back.

"AHA! bahahabe?!"

you giggled as you rubbed your sides, looking at atsushi who smiled at you, hands resting above his stomach in a claw form.

"sorry, but you we're zoning out again! you really do get distracted easily."

you felt..flustered. you didn't know why, it just..made you blush each time he catches you zone out.

you look back at your paper to see he's done it for you already

"oh, i'm sorry.."

he would kiss your lips each time you would apologize, "don't be. it's cute. also, you can't help it. that's nothing to be sorry for. all we can do is help you try to get better!"

that took longer then he thought-

"okay, so what we need to get is milk, eggs, and- BABE DON'T WALK INTO THAT FRUIT STAND-"

he pulled you back, causing you to squeak as your back landed into his chest.

"huh?"

atsushi looks to see what you were looking at and it was the window. must've seen something that caught their eye.

never gets angry with you, but gets tired out having to look over you everyday.

but hes grown used to it, and finds you 10x more adorable<3

"y/n- are you paying attention to a single i'm saying?!" kunikida scolded you, and ranpo answered for you, "nope. they're not!"

your boyfriend was sitting beside you while you had your head resting on your arms, looking out the window that shined bright behind the closed curtain.

the moment you felt him tug on your nose, you rocket upward and sneezed.

"huh- what? i'm here!"

"of course you're here, however your mind is else where~" ranpo teased gently tapping on your forehead.

he knows all the time when your about to zone out, ot get distracted for a long period of time so he plans ahead.

"y/n! there you are- i'm all out of candy! can you run to the store and get me some?" he would ask the moment your about to zone out.

with a smile on your face, you agreed. leaving him feeling successful.

he finds it cute.

he doesn't even get mad at you, he just giggles and pokes your arm, leg, side, cheek, anywhere!

always keeps you on your feet so it's kinda hard for you to get distracted, however he doesn't control you.

when your on break, he sometimes catches you staring into space, or about to fall asleep due to how long you've zoned out for..

he catches you staring at him all the time, and he 100% teases you for it.

"did you know i have the cutest partner in the world~"

you shake your head.

he kisses your lips, "never change, sweetheart~"

he snaps his fingers in front of your face.

"i asked you once already, pay attention, y/n!"

you blink at him, nodding your head.

2 minutes later he notices you've zoned out again.

he honestly doesn't know what to do other then to snap you back to reality.if yourhe doesn't know how to help, so when this happens more then twice a day he's kinda pissed.

but your his partner, so he can't stay mad at you forever<3

he tries to be softer when you, "y/n, this information's important, you have to-"

"they're not listening man-" chuutya butss in,

"i know that!" he glares at the gravity manipulater, and just lets you be.

when he see's you zoning out but nothing serious is happening, he'll kinda just look at you and try to figure out what's got you so fixated.

won't admit it, but they way your so focused is cute to him.

"what are you looking at?" he asked, standing behind you and tried to look in your direction...that just lead to you screaming, finally realizing he's there and punch him.

"omg- aku, i'm so sorry! are you okay- here let me-"

"i'm perfectly fine! don't touch me!"

it hurts, please hold me-

your zoning out and about to go to sleep- he'll wait to you go to sleep and either wrap a blanket around or kiss your temple whle walking out of the room.

he kinda just lives with the way you are, and would be pretty upset if you changed on him all of a sudden.

So, recently I've received a comment on one of my ffs where the person stated that they've been having trouble finding a story that didn't contain certain dark topics and thanking me for writing a story that didn't include them. This got me thinking about the content I've been producing here and how it affects the people who read it. ✁akutagawa thinks he’s a loser after almost losing the love of his life. warning: mentions of death, nightmares, dazai’s abusive past. repost from @[yatsugareboyf].

“Yokohama didn’t do anything good for me, anyway,” he bargains to no one in particular.

Would Yokohama even be worth living in if it cost your life? Would Yokohama feel complete for him without you? Would Yokohama even be thankful for the sacrifice that cost him his drug? The answer is no, of course, he concludes. Because why would Yokohama, the city he vowed to protect despite his terrible upbringing and trauma, be grateful for a sacrifice from someone like him? After all, he is a mass murderer with whom no one wants to be associated. It was okay for him to die, rot in secret and not have anyone mourn him. He said it himself; there won’t be much time until he passes away.

And even if all the odds were against him, he was the one who was fated to live in this world that lacks the only thing he deems necessary to live: you.

But why you?

You, who did nothing but great things to make Yokohama a warmer place even for people like him. You, who never put Yokohama in harm even if it harms yourself. You, who didn’t need to vow to become someone who would protect Yokohama even in its darkest days. Why did you have to be sent to die? Did the people ask too much of you?

He never understood, and he never will dare to understand.

Indeed, he was a loser. He had lost his childhood to pursue a life of crime and danger without a choice. He had lost his long-time mentor, an abuser, to someone who he thought didn’t even match his own capability, and now he’s about to lose you.

The one who one day appeared to him like an angel, sweeping him off his feet and showing him a new hometown he can truly be free and happy. The one who accepted him even if heaven itself wouldn’t let him in, the one who could mend the wound in his soul and thaw his stone-cold heart, his one and only.

Akutagawa Ryuunosuke is a loser, and he despises the fact that he’s about to live up to it again. He won’t allow it.

Come what may to Yokohama and anyone who seeks refuge in it, he doesn’t care. They will pay the price of endangering the one warm thing this cold, ruthless world could ever give; they will see the consequences of their actions that resulted in the harm of his beloved. The only thing that mattered to him was to make sure that you were safe, and Yokohama would suffer the result if that were to be bent.

And yet somehow, Yokohama never did. They never saw the wrath of a monster who lost the one thing they could have. He would’ve destroyed Yokohama, hell, even the whole world, only to have you by his side, smiling without a care, but you didn’t let him. Yokohama didn’t deserve someone like you, nor did Akutagawa Ryuunosuke.

Fallen to his knees, he cries for you. He sobs for the life that was once yours, the life that you were to have, and the life that you were to have with him. He mourns the sunny days where you make it impossibly brighter, wishing that when the sun comes up again, you’re there to melt him out of his cold nightmare. He longs for the moment that you’ll return with the sweetest grin with your hand out to him, once again rescuing him from his chains. With bloody hands and a sore throat, he screams.

Once again, he wakes up into a nightmare, the hellish world where you no longer exist. Except you do still very much exist, and he just doesn’t realize it yet.

“Ryuu? Hey, I’m here. Look around. You’re not there anymore. You’re here with me, alright?”

There it was, the soft illumination of your gentle voice and the warmth that it brings.

He felt you scrambling around him, kind of unsure in your movements, until he heard your footsteps walk away from him, but not that far. He opens his eyes to a blurry vision, looking up into the dark ceiling. Tilting his head in your direction, he sees you filling up a tall glass with the pitcher of water on your dresser. You always left some water in your room if Akutagawa needed them (or when you think he needs them, he never asks for it himself).

How thoughtful, one of the more reasons to love you. You know what Akutagawa needs, even when he doesn’t tell you. You know him like the back of your hand, offering things that he never knew he needed, providing something that he never thought he was worthy of receiving and giving things that he never gave himself.

He saw you walk over to his side of the futon, cooing at him to sit up properly so he could drink from the glass you just filled. You help him hold the cup when you notice his hands still shaking, you slowly rub his back when he starts to cough, and you move the stray hairs from sticking on his sweaty face.

“I’ll be right back, okay? I’ll get you a towel-”

He reaches out to grab your wrist, almost desperately, as he sees you start to step away. He loosens his grip after a while but still keeps his hand around your wrist. Tugging on it, he struggles to say, “Stay with me, please.” swallowing the lump forming in his throat. Somehow, you understand, taking his hand in yours, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

“Okay. I’ll stay here.”

You spend a few moments holding his hand gently, staring at them. Akutagawa is scared to close his eyes again, so he focuses on your face. It brings him comfort, although it is not enough to describe whatever feeling comes from his gut. It’s… reassuring. Being able to lay your entire self out without having anyone step on it, being able to lower your guard without a stealthy jab from behind. It gives him fortitude in the times when he can’t seem to stand on his own.

“Are you sure you don’t need anything? Do.. do you wanna talk about it?”

He shakes his head, and you’re not sure if he’s referring to the former or the latter part of your sentence, but you don’t pry more. Akutagawa moves his hand up and pats your side of the futon where you previously laid on, looking up at you with his red-rimmed eyes. Following his gesture, you move to sit beside him, tucking your legs under the covers beside him. He grabs your hand after you have to let go momentarily, quietly moving his head to rest on your shoulder.

It’s not always that Akutagawa would initiate acts of affection. He’s still wary of physical touch after all this time, but whenever he would, you never say anything. He didn’t explicitly say to not make a big deal about it, but he really appreciates it. You just let him be, nuzzling his head against your neck while he plays with your fingers. You make a move to rub his scalp but freeze halfway, hesitating to touch him. Still, ever the professional mafia man, he already knows your hand is hanging a few inches from his head.

“What are you doing?”

“I just..” you continue your movement, placing your hand on top of his head, rubbing it softly to not startle him. You feel him stiffen but not flinch, staying in his position, “Is this okay?”

He doesn’t respond, but you continue rubbing your fingers lightly against his scalp. After a while, you stop, checking if he’s uncomfortable, but before you can ask, he grunts quietly and tugs on the hand he’s holding. You hold back a fond giggle, moving back to begin scratching his scalp again.

It’s small moments like this where Akutagawa feels like you’re the only one who understands him. With only a simple nod or with a wave of a hand, you seem to know better than others who’ve known him his whole life. It’s you who he feels like himself with. Not the rabid dog that the mafia knows him to be or the menace that the agency perceives him to be. He’s simply and utterly yours, nothing more and nothing less.

Later on, you would whisper to him, laying him back down on the futon and covering his shoulders with the covers. You would kiss his forehead and hold his hand close to your chest, a reminder that you’re beside him. You would smile at his warm face, lightly poking the beauty mark under his eye before laughing at his scrunched-up face. You would whisper a soft “Goodnight, Ryuu. I’ll be here to protect you.”, despite your droopy eyes and continue to run your thumb over his knuckles.

Akutagawa is scared to close his eyes, worried that he’ll wake up into his world of nightmares again, but he feels safe under your soft gaze. He can’t help but quietly stare into your eyes, eyelids slowly drooping, settling into a half-closed look. You know that he’s close to drifting off (sometimes with his eyes open), so you start to hum a quiet tune. It fills his ears and reaches the realm of his dreams, lulling him into a peaceful, dreamless slumber.
