Pursuing his goal of brightening the world in Montreal for the 2016 @MURALFestival here's what Buff Monster had to say about this piece: I’ve been painting ice cream and ice cream characters for a long time, but the work is never about ice cream, of course. It’s a metaphor for life; our time here is limited and we’re constantly melting. I love still life paintings from the Renaissance, but they didn’t have ice cream back then. So ice cream serves as a modern metaphor for a timeless theme. As with most of my work, the bright colors and cheerful characters bring you in, but there is something much darker underneath. For this wall in particular, I chose to paint the classic theme of the seven deadly sins. I’ve never painted this theme before but I really like how it turned out.

Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010)

This will be the first documentary I’m watching during this challenge, but it most certainly will not be the last!

I absolutely love that Shepard Fairey, the man responsible for the popular Obama image, is a prolific street artist.

Someone tell me why this man looks like Rob Schneider.

This headline about Banksy is amazing.

You know, anytime I’ve mentioned this documentary in the past, people would say, “Oh, yeah! The Banksy documentary!” But, frankly? This documentary is more about Thierry Guetta than it is about any one street artist. I know he follows Banksy, but Thierry Guetta himself is kind of amazing. Not necessarily talented, but... kind of amazing.

I’ve gotta say, I do not at all blame him.
