okay okay okay but I headcanon (firmly believe actually but whatever) that cass considers herself to be dick/jason/tim/damian's brother.

because. okay. gender and language are extremely interconnected. and without gendered language, it's difficult to explain gender and why you would use one term over another. and cass doesn't really have a language with which to understand gender. and when you're learning words, especially if you're starting from scratch, it's way more important to understand that different words mean different things. "brother" and "sister" are different words. even "brother" and "sibling" are different words. and you and I, who have been using language for a while, can argue all day about the denotations and connotations of the words, but to cass, who didn't have language for a good chunk of her early life, those semantics don't matter.

dick is her brother. jason is her brother. tim is her brother. damian is her brother. just like they are all each other's brothers. and calling herself their "sister" instead communicates a different meaning. it sets cass apart from them. she doesn't really know or care about the complicated history of gendered language. the word "brother" and the word "sister" are not the same thing. the other legal(ish) children of bruce's are all brothers. she would consider herself one, too.

Roan’s pt is a fun romance with a fancy fire-magic-man who may or may not be an actual dragon. People are still speculating, fan theories are wild. There is going to be at least one fancy event he suggests to ditch not even halfway through. Roan also wouldn’t mind if you decide to romance another character at any point of the game, or so he says. Please don’t break his heart, he’s not used to it.

For your Lex pt prepare to consult some guides, a lot. People on forums complain that they always end up in a friendship route instead of a romantic one. While it’s actually pretty easy to start Lex’s romance, it’s also easy to get locked out at any point of the game. For those who still want to try and get that last steam achievement, Lex is a pillar of support, cool under pressure and surprisingly affectionate. Every version of Lex has something to do with music, be it career or hobby. Their main love language is physical touch. If they are angry with you, you will know.

She shifts her weight a little, the tiny movement just enough to close the space between her arm and Hotch’s. Feeling the warmth of him beside her is comforting in a way she can’t begin to explain to herself.

“Are you ready to go back?” he asks quietly.

“I guess so,” she says, but she doesn’t move.

They stand there quietly for a few more seconds, then he shifts, turning to face her. His eyes scan her face, searching. “How are you doing, Emily?”

She almost says she’s fine – the instinct is right there to brush off his concern. But the way his warm chestnut eyes focus intently on hers, all concern and no judgment, makes her feel tongue-tied for long enough that the impulse passes. She’s held his trust like a talisman enough times already since coming back that the prospect of lying to him – no matter how innocuous, how automatic – feels like letting go of something valuable.

Started reading The Terror by Dan Simmons, and I am still kind of baffled by myself. Because Ive heard about the show based on this book many times. I've read the blurb at the back cover of the book. I've read/skimmed through several opinions about the book before buying.

And I still somehow managed to miss the fact that there is a monster in this story ncjfjfjfjfjfkf.

I just thought the horror element mentioned in the blurb is because of, you know, how they were stuck in the fucking ice wwwwwwwww.
