Books In The Making
Tumblr media
WARNING: SPOILERS TO NEW FANFICTION IDEAS AND THEORIES!
⊶☽⊷❍⊶☾⊷❍⊶☽⊷❍⊶☾⊷❍⊶☽⊷❍⊶☾⊷
Hey guys, this is GlampireRockstar...and welcome to this post. As y'all know, I make fanfictions on Wattpad and will be using Tumblr for the rough draft trailers. I love making some pretty interesting crossovers between two or more different franchises that are similar and have relatedness between each other.
The first book will be Generator Rex + Ben 10 + Steven Universe + Redakai Crossover with AEW, TNA, ROH, and WWE. The second one will be Devil May Cry + Bayonetta + Kid Icarus + Winx Club with WWE. The third one will be Naruto: Shippuden + Bleach + Mortal Kombat + Dragonball + Demon Slayer + Inuyasha + Boruto: Gaiden + Avatar: The Last Airbender + Samurai 8 + Avatar: Legend Of Korra.
The list continues with FNAF + Terminator + WWE + AEW, Powerpuff Girls + Charlie's Angels + Ultraviolet + Totally Spies + WWE + Other Pro-Wrestling Companies, Hunter X Hunter + Akame Ga Kill + Kill Bill, TMNT + Fifth Element + Ninjago + Power Rangers Ninja Steel & Super Samurai, Supernatural + Omegaverse + WWE, Underworld + Blade + Twilight + Van Helsing + Vampire Diaires + Originals + Legacies + WWE, The Craft + Buffy The Vampire Slayer + Sabrina The Teenage Witch + TMNT, Kingdom Hearts + Sailor Moon + Final Fantasy + Eureka Seven + Neon Genesis, Persona 5 + Big Hero Six + Miraculous Ladybug + WWE, Descendants + Once Upon A Time + In The Woods + WWE, Kill La Kill + My Hero Academia + Black Rock Shooter + Blue Exorcist + One Punch Man, Young Justice + Teen Titans + X-Men + Lab Rats + Mighty Med + Elite Force + Bionic Island + Avengers + Justice League + Arrow + Supergirl + The Flash + Stargirl + Batwoman + Birds Of Prey + Suicide Squad + Injustice + The Runaways + Daredevil + TMNT, etc. I love metahuman abilities, supernatural kinds of species, ultra superpowers, and the magical arts of witchcraft. This is October, it means I'll be busy during my favorite holidays and be doing important things.
Before that, I got some bad news and it was devastating for me to hear. My aunt has passed away yesterday due to being fatally sick and after she got something removed a few months ago...it was actually a cancer tumor. She wants me to continue college for my degree, and I'll do what she wishes and make her proud...may she rest in peace.
She would've been 61 years old this year...I'll always miss her and how she treated me. Her stories about basketball and those football games she went to were the best ones since my uncle died when I was around 8 years old. I've shed my tears last night and lost my appetite cause of her death...it really did affect me.
As for theories for Wyatt 6, Bray Wyatt has returned on Saturday and gave us a great promo with the QR codes. I guessed it was him as soon as I saw the rabbit, and I was right. I believe he'll reclaim pure gold later on or sooner when 2023 hits and target a person of his interest tonight.
My lovelies, comment about the predictions and heart me for this post. Read my new rough draft and follow me on Wattpad. Sayonara guys and have a great night...bye!

well since y’all asked
Tumblr media
everything will be below the cut so people can just ignore this lol
the wild thing is like... everything everyone was saying from both sides makes sense. the good and the bad. i’ll start off with a pro and cons and then do a short track by track
pros:
i agree with what people are saying about how well this style suits her voice, it perfect. it’s smooth and calming but also doesnt stick her in a box and will allow her to kinda move with it and change things up as she sings, which i know she loves to do.
the production is exactly her too. it’s r&b beats with classic strings... liek that’s completely ariana grande. it’s so interesting and it weirdly works well?
i feel like you can tell she was just in her element making these songs. i feel like she tapped into something that can be so endless for her and new ideas will be constant.
idk if it’s just me adjusting to hearing her sing but her pronunciation is getting a lot better
every song has at least one good and attractive part to it... there are no songs that i am so completely confused as to why it’s on the album.
it’s for sure my favorite era for her in terms of style
also her best album cover (but sweeter is close second)
cons:
okay... there is a pattern with this album. every song had a really solid start. so many times i was in love with the verses and the melodies she was singing but... my god are the choruses weak. it’s just one line... repeated... like 4 times... then we move on... and i was sitting here like ‘oh that’s what we were building up to?’ and it happened with every song. so i completely agree about it kind of falling flat most of the time.
it’s so repetitive. besides the choruses mostly all being weak, the themes are all the same. like the 14 songs on the album are all about two things: her being horny or her being in love. that’s it. why did we need 14 songs to tell us two things.
another point: why were there 14 songs? so many filler tracks that just add nothing to the album for me. she could’ve honestly made a solid 10 track album and it would’ve been a good clean piece of work.
the lyrics... oh my god the lyrics. the one thing i saw people saying, both fans of the album and not, was that the lyrics were really bad... liek they had to prepare people. and my god. there were some points that straight up sounded like 14 year old stan accounts arguing on twitter... ‘you sound dumb... shut up’ SHE USED THAT LYRIC AS A HOOK... she thought it was so good it deserved to be the hook like? and also there’s a lyric that just straight up says ‘read a fucking book’ lol. the good or tolerable lyrics are basically ones she already used before on other songs? like how many time's has this woman sung about fucking while watching movies...
she needs to stop putting out albums so frequently. a lot of the complaints i see people having is just that it doesnt feel finished or polished enough to be an album. like she should have waiting a few months and refined things. it feels like a stepping stone rather than a destination. she doesnt have a clear vision, narrative or purpose driving the album at all.
track by track
shut up: this was the first taste of bad lyrics like this is the song about being dumb and i fully was like omfg this is the whole song isnt it. i dig the production though.. this might have the best production of the whole album for me.
34+35: i felt like i was listening to a horny 13 year old boy during the chorus lol. it just felt really immature at some points... like the giggling every time she alluded to 69 wasnt necessary. also the end where she says ‘mean i wanna 69 with ya’..... sweetie you didnt have to tell us we know we can add. i did like the melody of the pre-chorus. the ‘i’ve been drinkin coffee, i’ve been eatin healthy’ is really catchy and good
motive: god i had such high hopes for this. it first started and i loved the production and the prechorus worked really well... but again that chorus weakness really fucked it. and doja’s part doesnt really fit the song for me? it feels out of place and like she should’ve been put on a more upbeat song
just like magic: first song i actually liked and added to my library! i finally heard a good chorus that didnt feel like it completely slowed down the momentum of the song and helped move it along. and the lyrics are cute. i think for me she needs to improve on the difference between a cute lyric and a cringy lyric... like cute: ‘middle finger to my thumb and then I snap it’ and cringy: the rest of the album. also one thing there’s a lyric about her listening to music she wrote and like girl you had 34 writers on this album... what are you listening to two words? every time she brags about writing it’s kinda embarrassing like.... at no point am i impressed
off the table: this production would have been so good.... if it actually did anything else or went anywhere. it stayed the same the entire time.... for 4 minutes. also stop letting men on women’s music because it seriously never works. her vocals are really pretty though.
six thirty: i really like her vocal delivery in this... like kinda dropping off at the end and just starting to talk? it’s interesting. also the chorus really had potential because it actually got bigger and more layered and interesting but again with the one lyric ‘are you down’ repeated like 3 times then the chorus is just over it’s like... oh okay
safety net: again amazing verse delivery and melody... IF SHE TOOK IT ANYWHERE it would have been great. and again with the male features... not necessary. the bridge is cool with them both singing but other than that it feel flat for me.
my hair: that smooth electric guitar intro is everything. and this sound of this song is so good.... but.... am i the only person who kinda feels weird about ariana, a white girl, being like ‘you can run your hands through me hair... dont be scared’ like?? why would they be scared... your hair is straight lol. it just toys with the whole idea of ‘don’t touch a black women’s hair’ for me. idk it could totally be a me overanalyzing thing. but god is she sang about anything else this would be my favorite song. second song i added to my library.
nasty: if i had to pick one song that was my exact expectations for this album before listening to it it would be this one. the electronic hip-hop beat with the harmonies and vocals, all paired together for a song about her being horny (again), like yeah this all fits. it feels lost in some places though. like some points i feel like i have no idea what part for the song we’re on or what’s happening and we’re just treading water. and another weak chorus with 1 lyric repeated over and over again. (also random side not that intro of her talking reminded me of when she gave that billboard interview and people were mad at her bc she starting talking with an accent even though shes white... like thats what i thought of i was like ma’am you are a rich white theater kid form florida you do not speak like that)
west side: the production in the beginning is so cool? where is sounds like a tape rewinding kinda? love that. but other than that like... no point to this song being included on the album... it’s 2 minutes and it falls flat pretty early on.
love language: this was the one i saw most people agreeing was the best one/most hyped. i expected to be a ballad but it’s one of the more upbeat ones and honestly thank god. a chorus that actually has structure and goes somewhere? wild. good and creative lyrics? WILD. anyway the production is great and reintroduces that kinda 70s vibe from motive but in a refreshing way. really good tie in. third song added to the library.
positions: i honestly didn’t even listen to this when it came out so i really had no idea what to expect. again the strings and orchestral pairs so well together... one of my favorite instrumentals on the whole album. i 100% see why this was the lead single and i agree with it completely. the most catchy chorus and it moves the song forward WHAT A CONCEPT. also very good placement on the tracklist because it was really refreshing. at this point it kinda started to drag on a little but this picked it right up. it also kinda threw me completely off balance because i was so familiar with the pattern of good verse weak chorus good verse weak chorus, but this is the opposite? weak verses but amazing chorus. forth song added to library.  also i am genuinely curious why it’s the album title? it doesnt really fit the theme of the album but then again one of my complaints is that it doesnt really have a theme to begin with so...
obvious: the imagery i got when the music came in was like a dark 80′s lounge with dark wood furniture and i loved it lol. the same thing with positions, a surprising and refreshing combo of weak verse but good chorus which was nice. i can see it easily getting me stuck in my head, especially that hook. fifth song added to my library.
pov: this is the other song off the album i heard everyone generally loved. i would say this has the best theme and story of the entire album. it has an interesting concept that isnt overly used and the whole song is pretty good decent verse and decent chorus. i love the end where she gets powerful and has more grit in her voice and we get more emotion out of her... wish she didnt wait until the last 30 seconds of the whole album to finally deliver with that but sure. sixth song to be added to the library.
overall i was pretty surprised at how much i enjoyed it? i really expected not to the way everyone was talking about it. i think it is a good album with just some clear flaws, that could have been easily fixed if she didnt rush the album out so quickly. better lyrics and better judgement/deliberation of which songs deserve to be on the album and it would have been so solid. i would give it an overall rating of 6/10.

“I do not complain all the time.” The short blonde man protested as he walked through the automatic glass doors. His hand moved in gesture ad he looked between you and where he was going.
“I'm sure if I asked Steve--” you began but Danny made sure to promptly stop you there.
“Steve is a caveman with the intellect of a housefly and the manners of a monkey. His opinion is only valid at the zoo or on a wildlife reserve.” Your eyes rolled with a faint giggle before you stopped. Your hands came to rest on the detective’s  shoulders causing him to stop as well and turn towards you.
“It’s good to see you, Pepper.” You stated fondly before bringing him in for what had to be the fifth hug you had given him since you landed.
His nose scrunched at the nickname but he laughed all the same returning the hug as always. “Can you not use the nickname around Steven? Really don't want him picking up more bad habits.” You just grinned and turned throwing your arm over his shoulder and carrying on to the car parked at the curb.
He took the handle of your rolling suitcase and moved around to the trunk as you admired the shiny black vehicle. “Nice wheels, Peps.” You were about to step off the curb when the driver’s side door opened and out stepped a beautiful blue eyed man with a dazzling smile. The goofy grin on your face made your cheeks hurt and you nearly fell off the curb when you lost your balance. A strong arm caught you and set you upright.
The trunk slammed shut, reminding you both of Danny’s presence. “Ya just get here and already you're making moves on my partner.” His face was in a perpetual scowl but it seemed deeper now as he came to wedge himself between the two of you. “Y/N, this is Steve. Steven, this is my old friend, Y/N. Now, lets go.” He stepped past you to move to the passenger side but stopped to rest his arms on the roof to look at the two of you.
“So this is your car then?” You questioned with your eyes locked on McGarrett.
Danny’s eyes rolled, already annoyed at your blatant infatuation. “It's mine.” He interjected before allowing Steve to respond causing you both look look over at him. “This control freak just insists on driving it.”
Same old Danny. His jealous attitude is one of the things that always made you smile. He couldn't help it. He was overprotective of the little girl he had known since middle school. You were his and always had been but you liked to watch him squirm. Maybe eventually he would get up the nerve to do something about it. You hoped that now that you decided to visit him in Hawaii, it would be the trip that he would step up.
You had bought a couple brand new bikinis, his favorite colors so they would catch his eye. You had even gotten a haircut before your flight, hoping he would notice but he had yet to say a word. You video called all the time and you've sent or posted plenty of pictures so if he had paid attention he would know the effort that you had went to for him. You'd even put on makeup for the man.
“Can we get going? I would like to get her settled at my place before midnight.” The blonde grumbled before opening the door and climbing in.
You waved a dismissive hand at him with a laugh before Steve turned to help you into the back of the car. His hand was warm but rough like the skin of a working man. You gave him your most charming smile before falling back into the seat. You slapped your friend’s shoulder. “At least someone around here is a gentleman.” You chided to which Steve affirmed with a nod.
“Yeah, Danny, you talk nonstop about her coming for weeks and you get here and don't even open a door for her.” Steve’s words made your cheeks heat up and your heart flutter. Danny had been talking about your visit. You nibbled on your bottom lip and kept quiet as your simple comment sent the two men into an argument.
Finally, having had enough of the two of them, you leaned forward to wrap your arms around Danny’s neck, your chin resting against his shoulder. “You two sound like an old married couple. Is there something I should know, Pepper?” Danny’s head turned to scowl at you and you feigned innocence with a shrug.
Steve hadn't missed a beat, a grin forming on his face as he looked at Danny. “Pepper? Is there a story behind that?”
You laughed faintly and Danny’s eyes rolled. “Well, my mind works in weird ways, you see. So when I met him, his last name immediately reminded me of Will.I.am but i thought he was too cute for such a nickname and he was not Fergalicious at all either. So I just started calling him Red Hot Chili Pepper. But of course, that's a mouth full so I just shortened it to Pepper and it stuck.”
Steve couldn't help but laugh at your explanation, his head nodding as he drove. “Pepper. I like it.”
“Don't encourage her.” Danny warned with a light chuckle before a hand came up to pat your arm. “I am pretty damn Fergalicious though.”
This caused you to laugh out loud before your lips pressed to his stubbly cheek. “Of course, my little albino munchkin.” Steve burst out into a fit of laughter with that comment and after a while Danny couldn't help but laugh a bit too.
The one thing about Danny, he was always so uptight and cautious, making him a rather big stick in the mud. But with you, you could get him to lighten up, let loose and do some pretty crazy or stupid things. Since he had moved to Hawaii though, it sounded like his partnership with Steve had been rather exciting. It made you a little jealous of the commander, getting to see Danny everyday and make him smile and get him to have fun.
But at the same time, Danny had changed a lot since coming here. It was nice to see him in his element, almost care free. You knew him better than anyone and sitting here with him now, you noticed how at ease and happy he was. You could tell his friendship with Steve was the best thing to ever happen to him. It made you glad that your friend had someone to take such good care of him.
The conversation between the three of you flowed easily, a few more laughs and old stories shared before you rolled into Danny’s drive. The blonde climbed out then helped you climb out after him before moving to the trunk. You bent down to look in the open door when Steve wasn't getting out. “You're not staying?”
Danny rejoined your side, pulling your bag behind him and setting a hand on the small of your back. “He's got some work to do back at the palace. we'll catch up with him later.” He offered Steve a wave before he started leading you away.
“Alright, well, it was nice to finally meet you. Hope we will get to know each other better!” You waved with a wink, Danny's hand moved to tighten around your hip, pulling you away as Steve laughed and waved back. You reveled in the feel of Danny’s predatory grip on your hip that remained until the front door closed behind you.
“Mi casa is su casa.” Danny stated, extending his arm toward the house before you. “Make yourself at home. Your room is this way.” Still gesturing his arm to guide you, leading the way pulling your suitcase. “It's good to have you here.” His statement was genuine and it made you smile putting your arm around his shoulders. A smile grew on his face as well as his arm slid around your waist and he leaned into you.
You finally got to meet Charlie, who proceeded to show you around his room that uncle Steve and Danno fixed up for him. Gracie had grown a lot since you last saw her but thankfully remembered you and was excited to see you. The evening was mostly spent with the two kids, but that you were complaining. They were both special and held a place in your heart. Every once in awhile, you would catch Danny’s eye and would share a smile that warmed your heart even more.
There was a different look in his eyes. It was softer, full of some kind of emotion you couldn't place. You weren't going to question him about it no matter how much hope it gave you. Once the kids were in bed, you and Danny sat down with a bottle of beer and were finally able to have some adult time to catch up.
Thinking it would just be the two of you for the rest of the evening, you were surprised when there was a knock on the door interrupting the middle of conversation. Danny seemed just as annoyed at the interruption but rose from his spot on the couch to answer the door anyway. You took a sip from your bottle as you heard the door open and a grin spread across your face when you heard Danny’s cranky voice mixed with Steve's.
The two men joined you and when you stood here gave you a side hug and a kiss to the cheek. He gave you a secret grin and a wink before you caught Danny relax slightly when he finally pulled away from you. The commander excused himself to get a beer of his own and Danny moved quickly to steal the seat beside you before he returned. When you giggled, Danny gave you an odd look but you just waved him off and drank your beer.
When Steve returned, the conversation started up again, flowing just as easily as before. Though some time alone with Danny would have been nice, it was enjoyable having Steve around as well. He was clearly aware of the feelings between the two of you but it didn't stop him from flirting with you just to ruffle the shorter man’s feathers. And it worked and you played along just to make it worse. After a couple hours, Danny was practically pushing Steve out the door while you stood back and laughed. McGarrett waved with a bright smile and you waved back with your goodbye before the door closed.
“There was no need to be rude, Pepper.” You stated with a grin when the blonde turned his back to the door. Your smile fell when you saw him making his way back toward you. The look in his eyes reminded you of a predator about to pounce on his prey. It would have been scary if you hadn't noticed the fire in his eyes that had darkened since last you looked.
Your mouth opened to speak when he made it to you but his lips cut you off. His hands cupped your face firmly as he locked your lips together. Your brain went fuzzy, eyes instinctively closing as your hands came to rest on his wrists. It was a strong hungry kiss and yet sweet and his lips were soft. You melted into him and your lips pulled into a smile before he pulled away.
“I've been wanting to do that for over twenty years.” He mumbled breathlessly as his forehead rested against yours, his hands still cupping your face.
You giggled, placing a quick peck against his lips before your arms moved to curl around his neck. “Then I guess you have a lot of time to make up for, Daniel.” You flashed him a wink before his arms snaked around your waist pulling you flush against his body.
“What about Steven? I'm sure he'll be heartbroken to hear that I snagged the girl.” a smug smile had grown on Danny’s lips as your fingers carded through the hair on the back of his head.
Your eyes rolled with a shake of your head. “I think he'll live. Now shut up, and get back to the kissin’, would ya?”
His smirk grew as his fingers splayed against your lower back. “Yes, ma’am.” And his lips found yours again, a feeling you had waited your whole life for and one you would never grow tired of.

darrowbyeightfive in response to this reblog (wouldn’t an alternate cricket outfit been lovely for the Fifth Doctor)
I’m not sure whether the trousers represent something that was popular at some time in the past. I always assumed that they had just made them up because they thought the stripes and colours looked nice. I believe that he cut of the trousers, with the high waist (as seen on Planet of Fire) is typical of Victorian or early 20th Century men’s fashion, although I don’t know enough about fashion history to be able to say this for sure. It seems a flattering sort of cut. I do remember when I was a kid, there were still elderly gentlemen around who wore high-waisted trousers and braces (suspenders). Most of them were considerably rounder in figure than Peter Davison!
I also like the trousers and the general colour scheme of Davison’s costume. I agree that there needs to be at least some element of eccentricity to make it Doctorish. Since he’s a gentler, less forceful Doctor who sometimes struggles to impose himself on the people they meet, he does need something with a bit more impact than just the cricket whites, now I come to think of it.  I did like the way that there just happened to be a cricket pavilion (with notices and what looks like other people’s gear) in the TARDIS. It’s so typically Doctor Who because (a) it’s totally way-out in the context of the story - who were all these other cricketers anyway, and what were all their notices about? and (b) the scene was probably filmed at the cricket club that one of the production team belonged to and cost next to nothing!
They do seem to have picked colours that suited him, and he probably was lucky to take the job not long after Brideshead Revisited had been really popular, because, as you say, he got a nice costume rather than some of the over-the-top 80s gear. Maybe the over-the-top stuff came later in the 80s. I do feel sorry for Colin Baker and his companions having to wear such garish outfits. I find Sylvester McCoy’s costume nicer, although I think the question marks on all three of their costumes are a bit silly. I much prefer it when the Doctor’s clothes look like an eccentric combination of human clothes, rather than a ‘costume’. It’s nice that they have gone back to this in the new series. My favourite Doctor costume is Jon Pertwee’s, with those fantastic velvet jackets and shirts.
Davison’s costume was better than the next two Doctors’ in this respect apart from the question marks and the fact that he and his companions never seemed to change for the first season! There is the inevitable “when did they (the characters) wash their clothes/didn’t they get smelly?” question, and I wonder whether the actors had multiple identical outfits, because they too might have got a bit smelly after spending several hours recording and running around under studio lights! I saw on a Sherlock making-of that Benedict Cumberbatch had three identical copies of his long coat, one of which was used for stunts, but I think the Sherlock budget must be a lot higher than the Doctor Who one in the 80s. So overall I do like Davison’s costume a lot but I just wish there had been a little more variation because it would have been fun to see him in other outfits too. I particularly like his coat and was really happy to see that it was authentic-ish. I would happily wear a coat like that myself and do actually have a winter coat that’s just a little bit like it and has red piping around the pockets and cuffs, although it’s dark blue rather than beige. It does have a lovely ‘swish’ (I realised some time after writing it that the ‘Tristan strutting around the TARDIS in the Doctor’s coat’ scene was based on me and how happy I was when I got my new coat!)  I even like the clown costume from Black Orchid that everyone else apparently hates, because Peter looked so cute as a kind of ‘Pierrot’ (was that deliberate, I wonder? Maybe there is a whole level of symbolism in Black Orchid!) and I thought it was amazing that they put pockets in it (what would have have done with his hands otherwise?).
I do wonder at times if part of the reason why he ended up with a more straightforward historical outfit was because he had been on some historical shows (the lesser known, Love For Lydia and the very well known ACGaS) and thus there was this subconscious decision to continue with that trend. Ok, that might not have been the driving reason behind the cricket costume, but I also doubt that it escaped anyone’s notice that Davison does look good in period dress.
I guess I would lump the Doctor having a cricket club in the TARDIS under the same file as the swimming pool. XD You never know when you might need alternate forms of exercise besides running down corridors....
But yes, I agree that the softer color palette suited him well (much like how the cream colored Fair Isle sweater is so lovely on Tristan) and those extra “dramatic” touches ensured that it remained Doctorish and not “the Doctor is on a weird cricket kick”. I mean, that seems strange to say, but I honestly think that making it a more bizarre cricket costume made it so that you didn’t always think of it as specifically a cricket costume....if that makes sense. XD
And yes, I always regret the costume they gave Colin especially for his Doctor. The Sixth Doctor is one of my two favorites (the other spot belonging to Patrick Troughton’s Second Doctor) and I get a little sad when people focus on that outfit first...and to the point of distraction from the depth of Colin’s Doctor.  McCoy’s outfit wasn’t at that level of eye-pain, but I still don’t know if his outfit “suited him” as much as Davison’s did for Five.
I guess I’ve always thought that the TARDIS made extras of everyone’s outfits. XD And that the laundry machine was going at all times.....
And I agree that the costume Five was given to wear in Black Orchid was great. I mean, it was the same muted colors as his normal outfit and were still flattering for Davison.
And of course, they had to put in pockets for Davison’s hands. It’s an absolute must for his signature acting quirk. Although, the more I watch (and re-watch) ACGaS, the more I’m convinced that he might have gotten some inspiration for his trademark “hands-in-pockets acting” from elsewhere....

The List
The entire point is to avoid those vague-ass goals you’ll never get around to do so I’m posting the reason for every goal I have.
Some goals are private so are either slightly edited (e.g. how much money I want to save) or completely blacked out (e.g. things that are very personal), but the vast majority is for everyone’s eyes. All goals are very specific but to shorten the list I’ve included “Update wardrobe” but omitted the subgoals such as “Buy a new jacket” and “Buy 3 pairs of jeans”, for instance.
If you’re interested in doing this project yourself I suggest you take a look at dayzeroproject.com – there is plenty of information on how to go about it as well as a huge source of ideas for your list!
Without any further ado – my list:
101 List 2017
Start date: 1st January 2017 End date: 29th September 2019
In progress: Complete: Failed:
Myself
Looks:
1.    Update wardrobe in 2017 [I desperately need new clothes after two pregnancies]
2.    Clear out wardrobe [I also desperately need to clear out my closet before I drown in stuff I can’t fit anymore]
3.    Get a new tattoo w. foot/handprints [I want a tattoo of my kid’s hand/footprints, this one is self explanatory]
4.    Get a Doctor Who inspired tattoo [I’ve wanted this for a good while now but never got around to doing it]
5.    Get a SPN inspired tattoo [Ditto the above]
Health:
6.    Do 20 sit-ups every day for a month (0/30) [After the twins this is just really necessary since I can barely lift anything anymore]
7.    Cut out sugar for one week (0/7) [In hopes that it’ll help with my migraines]
8.    Don’t drink soda for an entire month (0/30) [Again, migraines. Not to mention it’s expensive]

Q&A With Broke Face
1. Where are we talking from today? I am currently writing from the kitchen table as I've been gently nudged out of my home studio, dubbed Found Sound Laboratory, by my daughters and their friends while they have an impromptu jam session on drums, an old Casio (named Casios Clay), pink ministrat, and a cheap radio shack mic plugged into an even cheaper tremolo amp. It's polyphonic insanity that sounds better than anything I could spend months trying to perfect in GarageBand. 2. Where did you get your artist name from? BrokeFace is a name that came out one day while I was writing lyrics and I dug it. It's become a persona I can use to really get to the crux of something I'm meditating on. I personally might not be able to point out a very painful truth about me to myself, which I consider one of my responsibilities as a writer, but BrokeFace has that freedom and it's been quite liberating, if not a little harrowing. 3. Music-wise what are you working on right now? Are you currently promoting a single or album? I am currently finishing an album titled Dirty White. It's a mixtape of pieces I've been working on since I started writing my own music about 4 years ago. I've recently felt a very strong sense of what my sound is, which is something I haven't been able to grasp since I began to make my own music. As I was putting the album together, it was shaping up to be a chronicle of that journey. I was also able to find a through-line sound wise so, to me, the album sounds like one long song that goes all over the map but feels whole as well. I haven't figured out what to release for singles but Love Beast, Grasshoppers, and Swear Off are strong songs. 4. Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career? Well, the Dirty White album is very much influenced by albums like Beasties Check Your Head, Radiohead's O.K. Computer, Kendrick Lamar's Damn, and to some extent Zappa and P-Funk as well as Prince. There's a Purple Rain cover on the album. As a child growing up in the Massachusetts suburbs near Plymouth, I first started piano then, wanting to be John Bonham, on to the drums, but slowly realized that John Paul Jones was the spirit of Zeppelin. Those discoveries, along with all of the music of the 50s and 60s (Rock (Chuck Berry), r&b (Otis, what?!), Jazz (Monk), country, (Dolly), et al.) got me wanting to learn all instruments so I picked up keys, bass, guitar and anything else I could get my paws on, including the accordion which made its way,  almost unrecognizable, on to a couple of ambient songs on the album. In the 90s I was taken over by all the music coming out from Pixies to GnR to INXS to cheesy stuff too (I'll sing Seal's Kissed By A Rose at the top of my lungs if it comes on so watch out). At the same time, my brother gave me the Zappa albums Sheik Yerbouti and Chunga's Revenge which blew my mind. Then, I heard Rage Against the Machine which lead me to Public Enemy and Tribe Called Quest and there was no getting me back once I start down that road. Today, I have really opened up to everything and anything. I'm absorbing music at an insane rate and it's awesome, there is so much good stuff out there. 5. Who are your favorite musicians? Right now I'm going back to school to get a music composition degree so I'm deeply entrenched in the classics. It's cliche, but JS Bach was insane. Insane. You listen to his stuff and you hear Metallica's One, you hear Wu-Tang busting out polyphonic layers over some harpsichord beats. It's still in everything. Other than that, I'm listening to Kendrick, TV on the Radio, Lizzo! (New album is so good), my girls turned me on to Mattiel, Nathy Peluso, Ariana Grande. I think Cardi B's tunes are pretty good, the production is great on her stuff. And sorry but I like LilNasX's song C7osure (damn you Spotify for your algorithm!). I would like to say I hate Charlie Puth, but I don't have much say to what songs get stuck in my head. I really dig MF Doom and everyone he worked with like King Ghidorah (Tic, Tic is amazing). Black Star May have an album soon so I'm mostly freaking out until that happens. Vampire Weekend's new album is good. Kevin Abstract is good. I've also been going through old tunes I liked as a teenager and seeing if they hold up - Smashing Pumpkins were so good... that C&C Music Factory, though... 6. What have been the greatest challenges/frustrations of your career so far? I think it was the point at which I was writing music and not knowing what my sound was so I was all over the place but not finding a connection between them all. I found myself asking everybody around me if something sounded good or just completely hiding it away and not showing anyone. Which was extremely frustrating, like I was ashamed of just being me. It's a much longer connection to many things throughout my life where I looked to others to approve of what I did, when they said I probably shouldn't do something that I was getting into, I made the mistake of listening all the time and not knowing the right kind of person to listen to, or most importantly, not finding my inner will. Dirty White is very much a turning point from that unsure area to the "oh, this is my voice, it was here all along" and just owning it, which is so fulfilling. Dirty White explores a great deal of having a voice taken away, whether I watch it being taken from people most susceptible to the overpowering and unequal distribution of wealth, or I watch white men, like myself, take their own voice away as they slip into their own protective skin color and economic place. This album is really my own meditation on my feeling of impotence when it came to bringing needed change to us as humans. I joke sometimes, get a white, liberal man mad enough, he'll start a podcast. I made an album. It doesn't fix everything but it feels like a start and maybe it will help someone, who knows. 7. As a musician, what is your definition of success? Getting up every day and being aware as much as I can be; aware of when I'm present, when I'm not, of what my gifts are and how I can cultivate them so they can help me and others. Awareness affects everything I do; writing music, hanging with my family, friendships, work. It puts the quality of life into whatever quantity of life I may have left. 8. What is your idea of perfect happiness? Being awake for all of it, all of what life is, whether it is joyful or unpleasant, which goes in tandem with the success question. Happiness is a very interesting term that I spend a great deal of time meditating on - how it's defined for the purposes of consumerism, which controls our lives and the hot button political topics of today; economic racism, women's control of their body, wars with oil-rich countries, etc. Maybe another album is in there. 9. What is your present state of mind? I always have musical ideas happening in my head but I have, like any other person does, a very full schedule where I'm not working on music, so that can feel hectic, but at least I feel, right? I made the intro song on Dirty White, called Crazy Diamonds, as a wake-up song for myself. Like, literally something to wake up to. It is over the top in its good feelings and positive reinforcement, which kind of prepares the listener for an album that gets into some deep, dark areas. Like doing some cardio before going into therapy, get the blood moving. I need that positivity reminder because I can get overwhelmed and just want to be cynical and binge watch Netflix. That thing where you 'just say positive things until you feel better' works for me and that's where I am right now; calmly hectic with cynical positivity. It helps to have a rhythm and keep busy at all times. This album is built around rhythm, the first song is morning or springtime and it works through the darkest part of night/winter to the very last song being the sunrise of the next day/return to spring. It may sound like it was super planned but I'm not that good, it really fell together in that way naturally. 10. What is your most treasured possession? Two gifts every day when I open my eyes. Also, I really like coffee. 11. What do you enjoy doing most? Writing music while my kids make an insane amount of noise around me. I use their sounds to make ambient beats and all kinds of craziness. When you can't have silence, make music from the noise. 12. Where would you like to be in 10 years' time? Making music and being aware. That sounds boring. How's this; living on an Elon Musk owned space station with my family and friends, floating around the earth like that Fhloston Paradise cruise ship in Fifth Element and we get free lodging because I'm part of the house band. Mos Def, relaxing from his retirement, is the band leader and a still-alive Tom Waits provides spoken word and other noises while I, like some crazy Dick Van Dyke a la Mary Poppins, supply beats and ambient sound with the Roots and Keith Richards as a backing band. Keith is in better shape than all of us and the ship is propelled by our music. That sounds better. 13. Where you @ online?
