.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ In theory, it is a relationship capable of being long-lasting and functional. Riddle and Jamil are able to maintain a relationship based on mutual respect and the desire to keep you protected from other people. But before that happens they have things to discuss and deal with it, Jamil doesn't like how restrictive Riddle is and Riddle feels insecure that you'll like Jamil more for all the things he knows how to do.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Although when they resolve these issues, they are quick to work to make you fall in love with them and propose a three-way relationship, Jamil and Riddle will always make sure you feel comfortable with them, whether this is your first time having a poly relationship or not.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Riddle has no knowledge on what is expected in a romantic relationship but he did read quite a ton of romances. He is a little nervous but he doesn't show it, maintaining a gentleman persona around you, opening doors and accompanying you wherever you need to go, lending his ear to your problems and coaxing you to spend time with him and Jamil. He's not that touchy, both because he is not used to it and because he is too mindful of your boundaries and won't do something you don't explicitly want, he has more of a acts of service as his love language, but he occasionally likes to hold your hand or put one of his arms around your shoulders. He do more romantic things as your relationship progress and you're both comfortable with it.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Jamil, on the other hand, is more relaxed with his affection to you, he knows you truly loves them both equally and he adjust himself to what you're more comfortable with. Though I do see him as someone who has more of a acts or service and quality time person, he absolutely love to spend his free time with you because you breath new air onto his stagnant life, you are a sight for sore eyes. And he is left giddy everytime you come to watch him play, scoring multiple times just to hear you cheering for him.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Jamil sometimes helps Riddle articulate his thoughts, though he does find funny how much Riddle fumble awkwardly around you.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Having a sister, Jamil knows quite well what get a girl's heart swelling happily and he does all sorts of things for you. He even let you using as a model for you, braiding his hair and painting his nails. Jamil likes gifting you things, though he rather likes making them himself. Turns the gift into something more personal since he was the one who created it. He can makes jewelry for you, can knit, sew and weave you clothes.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ And while Jamil makes you those things, Riddle remain more suave, writing little poems or passing you little cute notes to remember you to drink water and take care of yourself. If Jamil provides for more on the material side of things, Riddle works more on your emotional, always checking on you.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ They fall in sync very quickly and understand each other very well because of their love for you, almost being able to communicate through their looks. Sometimes they send each other photos and videos of you or exchange names about people that are being a bit too flirty and touchy with you, people who ended up missing and a bloody mess, oops. You're like the light in the end of the tunnel for them, the only good thing in their life and they spoil rotten. Attention, affection, everything you could ask for. They only ask is that you don't let your light be tainted by those other peoples.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ While on NRC, you guys normally have study dates or baking dates, chitchat on Riddle's unbirthday parties, or just do something you really want to. You also have regularly sleepovers on your dorm.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Things got complicated on vacation because Jamil and Riddle lives in different countries, plus Jamil has to deal with a lot being Kalim's servant. You three have to think of a way to deal with it everytime.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ They don't punish you, they can't. Riddle can collar you, sure, but that won't stop you, if anything you'd be angry. So Jamil is usually the one to make you stop acting a certain way using his unique magic on you while cradles your face lovingly in his hands as he stared into your eyes. Your eyes slowly rolling back and your mind foggy, but it's ok, they've got you. Just stay pretty and love them as much as they love you.

Heartbreak

Pairing : Din Djarin x f!reader. slight description of injuries on Reader otherwise no other physical descriptions.

Summary: The only time Din says no to you. Din sucks at communication. Part 1 of the Series.

Slightly AU-ish, he didn't get N1 after Razor Crest got blown up. he got something similar.

Warning: Mature theme. strong languages. angsty.

Din couldn't say no to you.

First time he met you, you were a mechanic work in a dingy workshop on the planet of Coruscant.

Din can sense you don't belong there at all. You were too... pure? Radiating this aura that has him guessing you were originally from a good family, slight Naboo accent seeping through as you speak, no matter how much you try to hide it. Judging from the huge scar you have running from the base of your jaw towards the bridge of your nose, you must have a story behind how you end up here. But it's not for him to probe. Everyone has their own secret.

"Alright, Mandalorian,All those carbon scorings we have tried and removed, that is no problem. But, " You wipe your sweat away from your face as you reading the report from the holopad of all the damages to him. " Your Hyperdrive is on its way out. It's a miracle it actually lasted this long." Lowering your voice, " I have replaced few parts here and there as well, it's on the house. Just don't tell my boss." You winked.

Din insisted on paying for the extra components. But again, you wouldn't budge, saying you manage to reuse the parts you salvage from other older imperial ships that has been sitting in the corner of the workshop , for makers knows how long. " It's taking up space anyway. you are actually doing as a favour getting rid of it."

He couldn't say no.

Thanking you, he went on his way.

Two cycles later, he is back again. To the same shop.

This time he can sense something is different.

The owner came out and greet him. Different person, Din noticed. Part of him wonder if you were still there.

The owner yelled towards the corner, your head popped out from the speeder you were working on. Spotting Din with the owner, your eyes went wide slightly as you hurryingly came and answer his call.

"Hello Mandalorian, I see your back again. Your hyperdrive is still functioning?" Din was surprised you still remember him. But then, how many Mandalorians are left out there around the galaxy?

He watches you as you walk around with the holopad, running diagnostics. Tapping away, you were mumbling something to yourself, making a few notes as you go along. You look sadder, more tired. You are not as happy.

Same as last time, You explain to Din the hyperdrive is still the main problem, also the most important thing, Carbonite freezer is leaking. This is going to cost him quite a bit , he sighed, but both important components for his ship he just have to throw the money in and get it done.

"I am sorry I wouldn't be able to give you any freebies this time... my.. new boss.. isn't as nice." You lowered your voice.

That confirms his suspicion.

Few days later, after the repair has been done, you begged Din to take you with him as your owner was not looking.

" I am not a taxi service."

" Please, I will work for free, I can maintain your ship.. I have enough credits I can take care of myself.. I wouldn't be a bother. I just need to get away from here."

The way you were looking at him, how can he say no?

He later thanked himself for it.

Din was suppose to drop you off at some mid-rim planet as per agreement, but time goes on, he feel comfortable with your presence. Not only you were an excellent mechanic, saves him a lot of time and credit to find a planet with a decent workshop, you worked your miracle to keep the ship flying with no problem. You can even cook, keeping the ship nice and clean, Din even trust you with his weapon maintenance as time goes on.

Along came the little green munchkin.

You ease into the role of caretaker smoothly.

Hell, what else can you not do? You take care of the child like your own. Taking care of his needs, feeding him, cleaning him, teaching him lessons, history of galaxy, sciences, mathematics. Din not quite sure how much the baby really understand or taking in, but he love watching your interaction with the child. Reminds him memories of his own childhood, whatever little bit of memory he has left with his birth parents before the attack.

He especially loves it when you recite stories and sing songs to the child.

Your angelic voice.

"Sorry Mando, Do you mind if we can buy more books or holopads of stories and lessons so I can teach the child? I still got enough credit I wouldn't waste any of yours.." You timidly ask him one day.

He ended up paying for the the stuff you asked for. How can he say no to you?

The longer you spend with him, you feel there was something simmering between you two, but never acknowledged. Both of you were too scared to say something, to break the equilibrium, breaking that little temporary happiness the three of you formed, a family. Clan of three. Clan mudhorn.

He gave you a vibroblade once,

“ For protection. Blaster isn’t always going to be effective.” He commented.

You turn the blade over, you notice the corner of the handle, there’s a mudhorn signet engraved on it.

You want to ask him about it, but he already walked off after you look back up at him.

You were hurt. Din was hurt. There seem to be a gap between you two after Grogu has left for the Jedi training. Both of you were trying your hardest to recover from the emptiness. You kept yourself busy doing work around the ship as per usual, but Din, already a man without too many words, seems to shut himself out from you even more than before.

He doesn't want you anymore. Just like your family. You are no more use to him. Mind is a dangerous thing.

This is for the best.

" Mando... We need to talk."

"......" " I been thinking..."

"......"

"it's time for me to leave." " NO."

"what is the point of me staying when Grogu isn't here anymore?"

" NO."

" Why not??? You been ignoring me since Grogu left... As if I don't exist! Just let me go Mando... please.. " you sobbed.

You left that night. Despite him saying No.

Din thought Grogu's departure broke his heart, your departure absolutely tore his heart out.

But who can he blame apart from himself for pushing you away? His clan of three has fallen apart.

“Hey Mando! I see you are back with your little green thing!! Come to Aunt Peli!!” Grogu happily ran towards Peli, jumping into her hug.

Din’s heart healed a bit after Grogu returned from his Jedi training. But there’s still an empty part in his heart that can only be filled by you.

“So what is the problem this time round Mando? Hyperdrive again? You are in luck! I have someone new started working for me lately, she is absolute master fixing old imperial space junk like your ship!” Din rolled his eyes.

A voice piped up behind an old engine.

“ I wouldn’t say I am total expert Peli, it just happen I have a lot of.........”

Din snapped his head towards owner of the voice.

It was you.

You froze on the spot once you spotted Din.

Grogu let out a happy squeal and jumped out from Peli’s lap and ran towards you with his little short leg. You crouched down and scoop up the little child that you admit you miss so much. He let out happy coo and noises, as if trying to express his happiness to see you and trying to tell you all the things been happening since you last saw him.

“ I know little pea... I miss you a lot too. Have you had a good time with Master Luke?”

“ ... Why are you here.”

You turn your attention back towards Din. Frowning at his accusation tone, you stood up and face him.

“ I work here. That is why.”

Peli walked over and carefully extract Grogu from your embrace.

“ Come on you little thing.. Aunty Peli got some sweets for you... let the adults talk.” Shooting you two a glance, she walked off with Grogu into the office while all the droids followed her.

Din clenching his fist. Part of him was glad he has finally found you, by pure accident, and the stubborn part of him was furious you left without a proper goodbye, or even, left even without his permission.

“Why did you leave.”

“ I thought i stated it very clearly that night, Mando.”

You know his real name. but you never use it. He hates that. It put that extra distance between you two.

“ I didn’t give you permission to leave.”

You point a finger at his chest and spit out with anger “ OH, So I need permission from YOU to leave? What are you? My master and I am your slave?” Din flinched, him and his damn mouth.

“I will fix your ship up. After that. Leave me alone.” You turned around, walking towards his ship, trying to end the conversation.

” ... have you still got the blade.” You heard him asking as you walk off.

”..... yes.”

You were going to leave it on the ship the night you left, but you couldn’t bring yourself to.

Take it as a souvenir. Something to remember him by. You said to yourself. You try to convince yourself.

But you know the only thing you left behind that night was pieces of your broken heart.

I was going to leave it as sad ending but I think someone will kill me if I did... * looking at @deakyjoe * I might do a part 2 to this tomorrow.

P&C | Ch. 1: The Night Before I Met You

“Mira? Miraya? Can you hear me?” soft cries sound from the phone.

“Hi mom … m… mom it’s a video call, you have to turn the camera towards you,” I quickly say, as my mom’s ear stares back at me. It only takes her three tries and a hate speech against the electronic world we live in until we are finally met face to face.

“Is it working now? Can you see me?”

I nod, giving her a reassuring smile.

“Miraya, how are you? Why don’t you ever call us? I can’t sleep at night thinking about how you’re all alone. Your dad is getting mad at me, he thinks my worrisome would somehow bother you. Says you’re too busy.” soft cries of annoyance and genuine concern fill the room.

Moving out of my parent's home is one thing, but moving to another country … alone … is something completely different. The world is my oyster I used to say all the time, but now that I’ve tasted that stupid oyster I feel ashamed of my poor judgement. I would rather walk across a field of legos barefoot than go through another immigration process on my own.

See, a year ago, I would have only dreamed of living in Korea. Learning about the culture and exploring their diverse cuisine. It was all fun and games until hope turned into manifestation, which then formed a deep-rooted determination. I’ve spent all three years of high school, working my ass off, perfecting my GPA to appeal to the board of education. I guess it all paid off in the end, since fast forward to a year later, and here I am, in my one-room dorm of one of the most prestigious universities in Korea.

“I’m sorry Mom, I truly am. I keep meaning to, but honestly, there’s just not enough time in the day.” I try to convince both her and I.

To be honest, it has been about 2 months since I arrived, but with each passing day, I feel more and more lost. This whole time I’ve been consumed with academics, relying on nothing but my humongous brain to pull through with this mission. But now I realise that in terms of just living, functioning as one singularity in the real world, I am hopeless. Absolute noob. I’ve grown too comfortable living under my parent’s wings. Always enclosed in a bubble of security and protection, which I'm eternally grateful for if it wasn't for the fact that I'd become a complete menace to my older self.

Nonetheless, I'm here, somehow managed to overcome the post-immigration depression, even though the state of my dorm would like to argue otherwise. This is partially why I tend to not call back home as often as I wish to or should. I never want my parents to see the behind-the-scenes of my “success”, they at least deserve to live in peace knowing that their daughter who is 8600 km away is managing everything just fine.

“Miraya, please honey, don't make me call you out of worry. I want us to talk daily just because. I miss you so much, it feels like half of my heart left with you.” my mom's voice breaks, as she looks at the screen teary-eyed.

“Sorry Mommy, I promise I will call every day from now on. I miss you guys as well, it's insane to think that I won't be able to see you guys for Thanksgiving.” I try to maintain my composure but fail as a tear rolls down my face.

I'm the oldest daughter out of the three kids but my parents have always treated me like their little princess. This means that without fail, I have always taken that to my advantage. And no you can't talk to customer service about your complaints regarding moi because this main character energy has been deep-rooted in me since my diaper days. So please, respectfully, keep it to yourself.

Anywho, back to the point. Although my two brothers still live at home, my departure has left a big mark on our family dynamic. My mom has been worried sick for the past 2 months while the men of the family try to calm down her nerves. My brothers are beginning to feel a bit offended as they feel like my mom is neglecting their presence but in reality, she just isn't used to this distance, especially away from her blood. My dad is no better, he may look all tough and composed but for the first week following my departure, he cried himself to sleep while holding on to my childhood plushie.

“Okay, please keep that promise, honey. Everyone is sending you so much love, please take care of yourself. Are you ready for the first day?”

“I mean, as ready as I can get I guess. I walked around campus today to get an idea of where everything is. The only problem is that have about 10 minutes to get to my physics class which is located on the other side of the main quad. But, everything else is fool so I have to make it work.” I say with a heavy sigh.

“You're a smart cookie, dear. Everything will be just fine. You know I pray for you every day, ask God to protect my baby.”

“Thank you, Mommy, well I'm gonna have to go now. The dining hall closes in an hour. There's always such a big lineup.” I say in a rush.

“Of course, my love. We miss you, please stay safe!” my mom says as she waves me goodbye with a soft smile, the wrinkles around her eyes becoming more prominent.

The sunset paints the sky in a beautiful warm orange pallet with hints of baby pink. I quickly grab my keys, ID, and wallet before heading out the door after checking that everything has been unplugged. With a quick speedwalk, I managed to make it into the elevator before the door closed, that is until I tripped over my flip-flops and stumbled upon a body.

I dare not to lift my head, as one hand holds on to the wall while the other rests on someone's chest. I can feel my face getting red but the longer I stay like this the more it becomes less of an accident.

“I'm so sorry, are you okay? I was trying to make it to the elevator but my flip-flops had other plans.” I quickly say, straightening up as my hand finally detaches from them.

As I try not to make direct eye contact, I can tell that the poor fellow is a guy. He looks way more composed than I do, even let's out a little chuckle.

“No worries, are you okay? Why are we in a rush” he asks with a boxy smile.

“Oh no, I'm fine, just embarrassed. I was rushing to the dining hall, there's always such a big lineup.” I explain, still trying to maintain minimum eye contact as the blood from my face steadily settles down.

“Aah, I see, well don't be embarrassed, it happens to the best of us. Anywho, this is my stop, I guess I'll see you around.” the door of the elevator closes as he waves goodbye.

“Yeah, b .. bye” words tried to come out of my mouth before I was left alone to my thoughts. That is until I unfortunately saw my reflection in the elevator window.

Hair? Still left in two messy space buns, after I complained of it being in my face the whole time I was unpacking.

My shirt, you might ask? Well, it can only be the most humiliating piece of fabric I could find at my grown age, aka my Barbie merch. This whole time I was worried about my red face, while my shirt was covered in Raquelle printouts. Great.

I was right, the line at the dining hall was long, even more so than usual. But at least, I was able to find my friend, Jiah. She was the first person I met on campus, and even though we hung out every day since my arrival, we only realized that we were neighbours about a week ago. Women in STEM.

“Miraya!” she shouts across the hall, waving her hands as we lock eyes. I squeeze through a literal sea of hungry students and finally make it towards her.

“Jiah, you have no idea how happy I am to finally see you,” I say, breathless from all that walking (it was a maximum of 10 steps).

“Finally? What do you mean finally? We saw each other today in the morning,” the poor girl responds with actual concern on her face.

“Yes, but so much has happened. First of all, look at me. I look like I just came out of hibernation.” I sigh, realising she doesn’t understand my frustration as she is also repping that Barbie merch.

“What do you mean? You look cute,” she reassures me with a small chuckle.

I can’t help but laugh because we both look ridiculous, but it’s less embarrassing when a 6-foot-blonde guy with a boxy smile isn’t involved in the scenario. So, we quickly grab the food and enjoy the little debrief about our thoughts regarding the first day of classes.

“You know, I compared my schedule with my boyfriend yesterday and we only have 3 classes together.” Jiah sighed, pouting her lips.

“Well, you know, 3 classes versus the rest of your life. I feel like you guys will manage it just fine.” I chuckle, as she smiles back at me.

“You’re right, it’s silly. I just miss him. He has been away this whole summer, and no one warned me about how tough long distance is.”

“Where was he again?” I ask.

“Well, he first went on a grad trip with his guy friends and then back home to visit his grandparents. I just wished he was able to come back sooner. I really miss him.” Jiah looks down on her plate, swirling the leftover food with her fork.

“Hey, Jiah, it's just one more night, do you want to sleep in my dorm for today? We can have a relaxing pampering night, hm?” I say, as my hands reach towards hers. She looks back up and nods with a smile.

“What do you think of this? Or is this better?” I ask as Jiah is forced to judge the fashion show that I have created out of my possible outfit options for tomorrow.

“Oh, number 2, 100%. Are you kidding me? You look absolutely drop-dead gorgeous in knee-high boots.” she replies with complete certainty in her judgement.

The weather in Seoul is getting chillier so the knee-highs fit the theme, but are they not a bit too much? But also, I did not just go through all of those years to be just much. So, you best believe I will be making an appearance with those bad boys.

“You’re right, okay well then I’m all ready. Just have to actually wake up on time.” I say, lying on the sofa and looking at the precisely organized row of necessities Jiah and I prepped for the following morning. The rest of the night was spent just talking until we both fell asleep to the sound of rain hitting the window.

BtT’s Fall Campaign: The Love of Sustained Giving

When I opened our Patreon account almost a decade ago, I hoped that we’d gather about a half-dozen supporters who would help us defray the costs of having a website. What I didn’t expect was to see names of those who had already long supported what we did here on Beneath the Tangles come to our support, and well as, over the years, others whom we would get to know more intimately through their interactions with Beneath the Tangles on social media.

Patreon, a platform meant to help us raise funds, became a community all on its own.

As we start the second and final week of our fall campaign, I want to feature our Patreon and Instagram accounts, which feature this commonality—they provide ways of sustainable giving.

While Patreon offers a one-time donation option, it’s always primarily functioned as a recurring donation service. And by that function, it’s become a vital part of what we do on Beneath the Tangles. Because we can plan far out in advance how our finances should be used monthly, through the year, and even further out, I can decide how to disperse our funds in the most effective way. Priorities are made, plans are developed, and gifts are expended to maintain our site, develop content, and spread the word about our mission and platforms.

It’s no exaggeration to say that so much of our growth can be traced to the funding given to us by our patrons. I’m so thankful for their giving hearts as God has used their gifts to expand his kingdom through this ministry.
