That's good to hear. Hopefully more do. The creators of that show owe her an even bigger apology and fat check IMHO for pain and suffering.

Like I said, I left that fandom a long time ago. I only knew about Candace finally being open about the racism she endured from a podcast interview.

The Flash Season 8 Thoughts

So I finished late but finally finished the two parter finale for the season. I know there are many online who are now habitual haters of everything Flash does these days, but I honestly feel season 8 was the strongest the show has been since season 3. I liked all the arcs for the season. I enjoyed Armageddon with all the cameos from Ray Palmer, Alex, Batwoman, Ryan Choi, and especially Damien Darkh. Deathstorm arc was probably my favorite arc since Bloodwork. The design for Deathstorm was excellent and I feel they did a nice job giving Frost a proper death. The Negative Forces arc was also overall pretty good. Does it all make sense? No, obviously not. But I feel this was handled a lot better than the season 7 Forces arc. I think the return of Eobard, both Tom's and Matt's, helped it significantly. It was cool to see Meena Dhawan. I feel the actress cast did a pretty good job. Also nice to see Nora and Bart back as well. Also, I feel the interlude episodes were much better this season. Not only were most of them not filler, but they were largely pretty entertaining. I actually quite liked the Allegra interlude episode, which was much better than last season's. Last season, the only interlude which worked for me was Cisco's farewell episode. But this season, I enjoyed pretty much all of them. And I enjoyed that we went a whole season with Barry being pretty powerful. There were some pretty cool uses of his abilities this season.

That being said, still many issues. The show has not figured out what to do with Iris. At this point, I don't know if there is a solution. I think thee mistake with the character was made several seasons ago and nobody seems to be able to figure out the solution as to figure out something for Iris to do other than to have her suffer as a victim of the villains. The most interesting thing Candace Patton has gotten to do for a while is play Mirror Iris. Also, the Cecile Horton stuff is getting out of hand. She's far too involved in everything. There are times where she is effective, like in the episode when Barry was aging. But overall, it just feels like a character whose presence is getting overexposed. I have started to enjoy Allegra and Chester, even though I miss the Cisco and Caitlin dynamic. Speaking of, I am curious what direction they will go with Caitlin next season. We were told pretty definitively that our Frost isn't coming back. Which gets me wondering as to what the new being will be.

Anyways, overall quite enjoyed season 8. Long gap before season 9, which will likely be the last.

Prophecies about the second civil war

Somewhere at the Master’s Voice, Celestial put out a series about the coming civil war. This involves Kamala Harris getting elected and becoming president in late 2024, which’s where the second civil war happens though conflicts will happen earlier (perhaps this year). I actually prayed to God to take Grant Gustin and his family to Italy for safety, should he get caught up in the election conflict.

If he does head to Italy for safety, I can see him becoming an Italian citizen. He could even continue his acting career there, while his daughter marries an Italian count when she grows up. Living in Italy would be a great blessing in disguise for him, if Kamala Harris does show up as US president it would become too late to escape the civil war in America.

With two Flash actors moving elsewhere for safety, it’s best to leave ahead of time instead of getting caught in the crossfire. If civil war does happen again in America, nothing will remain the same ever and unfortunately for a long time. Innocent lives will get caught in the crossfire, violence escalates a lot and old allies will turn to America’s enemies for safety and stability.

The Philippines will do this with China, likewise Britain and France with Russia. Perhaps even more shockingly, many western European countries will become Russian allies and willingly so. This includes France and Britain, while America will be left all alone in the fire. Perhaps too literally if it were to get nuked big time, but this will really happen in the future.

it was the cw arrowverse, actually! I watched all of arrow, most of the flash, most of supergirl, all of batwoman, and all of legends of tomorrow in a single summer and it took over my brain <3 from there I got into young justice and jlu, then titans, then I finally plunged into comics!

The Plan so far

So, this blog was a very spontaneous idea I had yesterday (very late in the evening). So I took some time to think it through today, as well as get some more lists from other Fanders.

The plan now is to first create lists for the separate facets of the Thomas Sanders fandom, i.e. Sanders Sides, Shorts Characters, Cartoon Therapy and Roleslaying with Roman. (I'm sorry that this means I need to split up Remy and Emile for now, we'll get to crossovers later.)

Fuck, Star Trek actually released a vid that said, BLATANTLY, that the reason we're in a new Golden era of Trek is because of DISCO

A show with a Black female lead and wonderful LGBTQIA inclusion, and most comments seem to be HELL BENT on throwing shade. And it's been that way for years now.

So...can Star Trek fans stop acting like they're so above other fandoms when it comes to inclusion and diversity, because every time I read any of their comments, I get Iris West/Candace Patton flashbacks.

Is there's a reason why Freema left to the show?

There's an IG post from her personally stating that she left and was starting another show in England. There were rumors flying around that she missed living in and working in England and didn't know if she could commit to living in New York. Her family and friends are across the pond.

Then there are suspicions. Freema's character Helen wasn't given the same level of material that her costars were given. She was often sidelined and dancing on the edge of a blade of what we could or should know about her. It was definitely frustrating for fans.

I think a lot like what happened with Candace Patton and so many other WOC who work in the industry it'll be a while before we get the sit down interview that tells us the truth of what it was like for her and the reason why she left. It may not be nefarious at all. Maybe she just longed for home, but it's interesting isn't it? She was nominated for her work on that show, and she received a lot positive criticism from those in the industry so why shine in a role, give it so much of your all that you're nominated for awards, but also have one foot out of the door ready to bolt?
