Personally I’ve always held to the notion that the fangs are just there to make the wound and they tend to go for major arteries because well, if you’ve ever hit an artery you’ll know you don’t really need to suck that much.

(please feel free to ignore this ask if it's a bad time!!) I think I might have ADHD, I'm not self-diagnosing and I'm planning on going to a professional and seeing for sure soon. I'm sorry if you've answered something like this before, but do you have any tips on focusing/getting things done/kicking executive dysfunction in the pants?? Honestly, medication... helps a lot. Once you’re diagnosed and can access meds, life will get much easier. 

In the mean time, there are different things that work for different people. You have to accept that your working memory is a shitty leaky sieve and you’re not going to be able to ‘just do it’. You have to rely on other things. Some people like bullet journals, some people like tools like Habitica, some people like to-do lists... some experimentation is required! 

I find playing music while I do things helps me get into a flow state, as does watching videos during more boring tasks (e.g. laundry, washing up). I also try quite hard to notice potential distractors, and I write them down to do later. For example, if I’m putting my laundry away and I suddenly think ‘hey, it would be a great idea to re-organise my wardrobe right now’, I write that down as a potential ‘for later’ task. Talking through things out loud can also help- I repeat  things to myself that I’m worried I might forget at work, and it makes me less likely to lose track of what I was doing.

Overcoming executive dysfunction is... very hard. Probably the hardest part of mental illness for me, as I’m resistant to both carrot and stick. One thing I have found helpful, though, is settling for ‘good enough’: anything worth doing is worth doing badly. Do I have the energy and drive to wash every dish? No, but I can wash up that one plate and fork and that’s better than nothing. Does doing a full routine at the gym feel impossible? Okay, I’ll go and stay for thirty minutes, and I can do whatever I want in that time as long as I’m moving somehow.

Anyway I really hope you like your drabble (I can’t remember the exact events so I feel like this is all inaccurate asjdhasjkd)!!!

NOT TAKING ANYMORE REQUESTS!

You couldn’t even begin to describe the worry and anxiousness you felt when your boyfriend, Thor, had taken Loki to find Odin and never returned, only for Hela to arrive in Asgard instead. You knew Thor would return, for you, for his people, yet the days of Hela’s terrifying reign dragged on, and as more days passed without Thor’s return, you could feel your hope diminishing.

You had only heard from Thor once, when he had managed to contact Heimdall. You could feel the relief flood through your chest knowing he was alive, yet it seemed like he was trapped. You so desperately wanted to help him — to reunite with the man you loved, and to bring back your only hope of stopping Hela. But Thor would have to escape Sakaar on his own, and you had no idea if he’d be able to do it.

Eventually, you knew you had to take matters into your own hands. The Asgardians were in danger, and you and Heimdall needed to get them to safety with or without Thor. After Hela had found the hideout where you and Heimdall were offering refuge, you knew you would have to risk bringing the Asgardians to the bifrost, where Hela’s forces would no doubt be waiting — but it was the only chance of escape.

You gulped, grip tightening around your sword as on one side, you saw Fenris. Teeth bared, loudly snarling, viciously preparing for a fight. On the other end of the bifrost, Hela’s soldiers marched closer, cornering everyone. You had a few people who could fight, but most of them were scared citizens who simply wanted to live.

You exchanged looks with Heimdall. “For Asgard.”

He nodded as he drew his own sword. However, before you knew it, reinforcements came in a timely matter, with Bruce holding off Fenris while Loki arrived in a ship for the Asgardians to escape in. A smile lit up your face as you realized perhaps there was still a chance, and you rushed over to Loki.

“Thor, is he...” you started, and Loki opened his mouth to respond when lightning suddenly struck the Asgardian palace. You both spun around, eyes wide as you knew there was only one explanation -- Thor.

He suddenly appeared out of the air, engulfed in lighting, and the sparks of light ignited your hope. He had come back, like you knew he would.

As the bifrost began to clear, you and the others defeating Hela’s soldiers, you ran up to Thor, a relieved smile shining on both of your faces upon seeing each other. You threw your arms around him, whispering, “I was so scared that-”

“I would never leave you alone.” Thor cut you off, his words reassuring. “Never.”
