The stickers I ordered finally arrived today. I’ve added most of them to what was already on my computer. I even got a special little “you are my sunshine” to put on the inside. I also have the Goncharov poster and the Believe poster from Ted Lasso. Not sure if I’m going to put them on the inside or not.

Thinking about a 15 minute argument I had with my dad about how the final scene of carousel of progress is not in fact at the top of space ship earth. The top of spaceship earth hasn’t really had anything for 20 years. Yes im sure. Yes the scene with the oven and the game glove. No it is not at Epcot.

In the final scene of Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, you can find a note that reads "Marty called - wants changes!". This is a reference to legendary Disney Imagineer Marty Sklar, who worked on every version of the attraction! He sadly passed away on July 27th, 2017.

Disney Parks Animatronic Tournament: Bracket B/Tier 2 Round 1
Timekeeper: The Timekeeper/Le Visionarium
Un Voyage à Travers le Temps/Visionarium - Magic Kingdom Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland (all formerly)
Propganda:
"Timekeeper was voiced by Robin Williams, transforming the character from its Tokyo Disney and Disneyland Paris versions entirely. Each Timekeeper has its own personality entirely, and Williams really let the character shine far beyond the script.
The animatronic itself is remarkably fluid, with many facial animations (glowing, blinking eyes with many degrees of freedom, (The eyelids alone have three degrees of freedom, and do far more than just go up and down!), movable cheek structures, lips that form words, moving glasses and eyebrows, and many other functions) that really sell the character. It is hydraulically actuated with a fixed base, and rather than simply trying to hide the fixed nature of the character, the design *embraces* it. He does not have legs. Rather, the design showcases the mechanical nature and actually adds functionality beyond what legs would!
Each Timekeeper animatronic is designed to look like its voice actor, and I would contend that Imagineers really knocked it out of the park when working on the animatronic for Magic Kingdom. Not only does it have more animation than its Paris and Tokyo counterparts, but it is just as expressive (and does not fall into uncanny valley), true to life, and characteristic than any other animatronic, whether in show lighting or not. Timekeeper truly presents as a character— not just an animatronic of a character." (note, they also had gifs but the links didnt work :( )

Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!!
The advent of electricity has allowed for so, so, so many inventions and innovations to our daily lives. As a lover of inventions, innovation, and human progress, Walt Disney wanted to make a whole section of Disney dedicated to literal lightning in a bottle called "Edison Square". That didn't happen but Walt would take a lot of Edison Square's ideas and incorporate them into an attraction for the 1964 New York World's Fair called "Progressland". When the World's Fair ended. "Progressland" would be moved to Disneyland and then Walt Disney World under a new name that was cooler and didn't sound as much like "Tomorrowland", The Carousel of Progress. The attraction itself is not what most people would call a carousel i.e. a spinning platform with a bunch of rideable animals that bob up and down. It is built on a spinning platform though, just one that houses a theater. Six separate theater boxes to be exact, rotating multiple audiences through each show scene of a single family enjoying new-fangled technologies in four different decades from phonographs at the turn of the 20th century to voice activated appliances in 1993. Yeah…sadly, for a show about the wonders of the future, this attraction is rather dated, having not received a major since that year. Still, it definitely maintains that spirit of innovation and the promise of a better tomorrow and that has allowed it to endure for all these years. So long in fact, that it holds the record for the longest-running stage show in the history of American theater. Quite impressive (though less so considering all the actors are animatronics)! I do hope it gets that major refurbishment some time in the future but even without it, I'll still say that Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is still worthy of being called wonderful It's a great big beautiful tomorrow indeed.
P.S. Speaking of which, I also love the song for this attraction titled "There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow". If "When You Wish Upon A Star" is the theme song for the Walt Disney Company, then this is the theme song for the man who founded it. Optimism is a pretty powerful thing.

Watching this before I go to bed. Personally, I like both theme songs to this attraction, "There's a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow" and "The Best Time of Your Life", equally. Which one is your favorite?
