If you really think about it, what Ritsu was going to do for Mob during Confession Arc (allow himself to be hurt again to snap Mob out of the state he was in) is pretty much exactly what Mob did for him during the Cleanup/Claw Arc of season 1. Mob’s wasn’t intentional or planned out like Ritsu’s was going to be, but he found Ritsu in a violent and abnormal mental state and accepted him fully despite his actions, allowing himself to be bullied to protect Ritsu from enduring the pain of the consequences of his actions. And it was this self-sacrificial beating Mob endured from Koyama that snapped Ritsu fully out of his rebellion and bloodthirst by begging some “super powerful being” not to hurt him (like Mob did to himself in his head).
Also, “Half of that is true, isn’t it?”/“Dont bother trying to get rid of me. Because I’m your brother.” VS “This isn’t some separate, scary version of you. It’s a part of you.”/“Because I’m your younger brother.”

[ID: A series of Mob Pyscho 100 screencaps, here described in pairs.
Ritsu with shadowed eyes and Mob with solid glowing white eyes.
Mob looking serious or neutral and Ritsu with a fearful, shocked expression.
Mob kneeling with a genuine smile and Ritsu smiling with self-assurance.
Ritsu crying and looking battered and Mob sweating and looking harrowed. End ID]
But Ritsu decided to change the ending this time, and end the cycle of self-sacrificial trauma.
Of course, parallels in Confession Arc is a given bc it’s half of the entire point, but it’s fun to explore them.

A little mob100 au idea! I don't have time to write it and I don't think it would be that interesting but shhh
Basically, Reigen has powers in this. Nothing much, he's a very good at hiding and reading auras (although he doesn't like to use it mostly because manipulating people on his own is way more satisfying), he can do other esper stuff, probably level of Ritsu, maybe weaker, anyway.
Suzuki (leader of Claw) actually recruited him mostly because there aren't a lot of espers that are doing things beside, you know, psychic stuff and Reigen is really good when it comes to people, without scaring them off or managing a business. He has a better idea of it than your average esper that got drunk on their power.
Reigen is also a couple years older here, like, maybe 5 years older?
So he makes it pretty high in Claw, Suzuki trusts him a lot and a lot of things here, like management or finances, are actually supervised by Reigen
But Reigen has a problem, which is, it's pretty easy for him to get bored, so he talks to Suzuki and actually moves to Seasoning City to start his own business (Suzuki won't admit it but in some way he's scared of bored Reigen). He's still helping Claw, but he starts Spirits and Such and when he's about to close it and just return to Claw, he meets Mob, who he considers at least some new challenge to pass time. Mob thinks Reigen is an Esper but doesn't know what his powers exactly are
So Reigen has now two jobs!
(Btw he's not a scar nor ultimate 5, he has his own position which is probably somehow ridiculously called)
Everything process mostly like it did in anime (haven't read manga), until first claw Arc where Reigen could've just lie his way out, but he is just. Bored. And kinda disgusted at how this facility is actually being run, so when he, Mob, Teru and Ritsu met Scars there, he just calls Suzuki on phone to tell he's doing shit job without him which very successfully manages to make Scars afraid of their lives
After that, well, kids have no freaking idea what to think or do and they're sent home. Fortunately for them.
That's basically all I have lol dunno if I want Reigen to be really ruthless here and just return to Claw again and make kids join (because honestly, he still would have the biggest impact on Mob)
Or if he would say 'you know what, let's try something else' and try fighting against Claw in World Domination arc
Or just do nothing at all because you know, everything is meaningless anyway 🤷
(you can totally say it's taken from my thread on twitter lol)

Never gonna get over how the anime made this scene just so,, haunting and elevated. Like I love the manga but I love how the anime has taken these scenes and elevated the themes of death and rebirth with simple shots like this and it’s why even after reading all of the manga I still get excited for the anime because I *know* the anime will not only be a faithful adaptation, but also an artistic masterpiece as it uses the medium to its advantage

i think maybe we don't always need the trope of redeeming a character and then having them die. maybe we can redeem a character and have them live. maybe we can redeem a character and let them bring that redemption into the world, make it a better place than before. maybe we can simply let a character enjoy their happier life.

It's still my personal headcanon that Teru did in fact kill that pyrokinetic who he set on fire in s1, because literally nothing is funnier to me than Teru casually killing a man and then this little fun fact never being addressed ever again.

The way their lines could be interchangeable here. What is easy and gleeful for Koyama is painful and wretched for Shigeo, but the outcome is exactly the same. If anything, even worse from Shigeo, as he intended this to be the end of Dimple. Merciless, but only one carries the burden.

Sorry but can i ask about the name of the fic you are writing of detective conan
Konvexspiegel?
Tumblr media
Translated it's Convex Mirror, like this one!
It's used for corners in streets usually; when you look, it turns everything smaller and the image gets warped.
It fits Conan, since he is a smaller, warped copy in the AU and also the fic itself since I am writing it in a oneshot style, using the episodes I like/have ideas for, sticking to canon as much as I can.
Also used the German word, because the dialogue I refer to is from watching the dubbed version. It's funnier than it has any right to be.

a field guide specifically about the creation of the clans and stories about the early clans would have been SO COOL but no we spend an arc with clear sky
on that note tho are there any cool legends the clans share about the beginning of the clans in BB?
If the writers go 5 minutes without saying Clear Sky smells nice they will die
COOL LEGENDS BB!CATS HAVE ABOUT THE DAWN ERA:
Generally, stories from this time are heavily mythologized. It is the era of legends and high fantasy, with its founders being remembered as abstractions more than real cats.
So ideally I'd love to tell arcs where every appearance of the founders in StarClan is like seeing angels. Monstrous, powerful beings that are more elemental than feline. Then, suddenly, you get to go back and see them before their appearances were twisted by generations of fantasy.
The Red Squirrels and the Gray Squirrels (Pishkaf om Chakchak) A ThunderClan myth, especially popular after the exile of SkyClan. The story goes that the wretched gray squirrels once decided to persecute the humble red squirrels. So the red squirrels appealed to Thunderstar to save them, but Skystar decreed that might makes right, and refused to manage the gray squirrels in his territory. It's treated as a kitten story, a parable about the importance of managing one's territory and defending things with low threat level.
Bumble Mumble and the Rogue of Rot The Clan cat version of a tower of babel story. It's the story of an unnamed rogue who steals the kittens of Turtle Heart and Bumble Mumble, killing Turtle Heart in the process. In response, Bumble lets out a mournful wail that strips the Rogue's words away and scrambles language forever.
Sun Shadow Steals the Sun The story of One Eye's defeat, slowly morphed into a cute tale about why you can't stare at the sun. The legend goes that One Eye was unbeatable, wearing a pelt that could not be scratched, even as all the founders united to defeat him. Sun Shadow realized that the only thing that could defeat him was the power within him, and so he challenged him to "show all of his might." Through this, his flesh was burned, but he gained a power above all. He guards this now as the sun itself, but would have to give it up to the next person who defeats him in a staring contest. So don't look!
Snake Claw's Serpents Newest one I'm still working on; but once upon a time, in his hatred of serpents, Snake Claw slew all of them from the deadliest adder down to the most defenseless slowworm. But without snakes to fear coming into their burrows, all the prey hid there, and all the cats of the Clans went hungry. He begged StarClan to return the serpents, and they agreed-- but he would need to craft them again, from memory. He spun his hate into love, but each one still came out endearingly wonky. It's why a grass snake has no venom, a slowworm's tail can fall off, and some adders are green. And most importantly, it is why "Snakes" (serpent in Clanmew, "Sis") have scales despite being "Worms." He forgor.
That last one's still changing though, I think it's very cute but I also want to make sure to put Snake as a character rework before the fun legend I want him to have, lmao.
